Opis:
Orientating oneself to time and work for the future is considered a substantive compo-nent of the autoregulative process. It is also important to students ́ mental regulation, which is closely related to academic success. The factor of time in human life has been approached in psychology in a variety of ways. We will focus primarily on those concepts which study time and detect time patterns in motivational dynamics of personality. The concepts of Joel O. Ray-nor, Torgrim Gjesme, Joseph R. Nuttin and Philip G. Zimbardo will be mentioned. Of Czech authors, the “perspective orientation” by Isabella Pavelková is presented. We will discuss diagnostic methods used in the measurement of time perspective, especially the Motivation Induction Method (MIM – J.R. Nuttin). Secondly, we will present selected researches that have been carried out in this fi eld in the Czech Republic. These studies are focused primarily on issues related to the identifi cation, development, and opportunities of internal assump-tions conditioning the character and quality of an individual ́s future.

The aim of the following article was to investigate the attitudes towards different aspects of deafness among hearing parents of children with hearing impairment. It was hypothesized that the valence of the attitude correlates with various factors, for instance: parents’ level of education, child’s age and number of other people with hearing loss known by the parents. For the purpose of this research, a 32-item scale, based on the theory of dualistic models of attitudes was created. Positive attitudes were associated with preference for sociocultural perspective on deafness, including respect for child’s preferred communication method, acceptance for sign language, perceiving people with hearing loss as able-bodied. Contrarily, negative perspective was related to the medical perspective on deafness, which includes insisting on curing deafness and treating it as a disability which requires supportive solutions e.g. hearing aids or cochlear implants. Neither of the two models appeared dominant. Further analyses were addressed to explore parents’ knowledge and beliefs about hearing impairment.

The aim of the paper is to outline new perspectives in research on the category of resistance in the formal education system in Poland. I adopt the feminist perspective because I am convinced that the issue of gender and sexuality in Polish school is particularly tabooed and marginalised, which reinforces the existing system of cultural, political and economic domination. This system is materialised in the form of new education reform, closely associated with the government and dominant religion. Polish students and teachers use social media, they can learn about social protests (including #meetoo action and protests in defence of court independence) and take an active part in them. What certainly connects both spaces (off-line and on-line) is a post-truth category.

Scientific studies carried out in the field of temporal psychology present a growing number of data suggesting an important role of a balanced temporal perspective in social and emotional adaptation of an individual. The current study attempted to empirically replicate a result suggesting a key role of temperament’s characteristics in the development of temporal balance. The novel character of erformed analysis took into account a new differentiating construct – dimensions of temporal metacognition. The study employed 115 participants. They filled in the personality quetsionnaire FCZ-KT, Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory, which measures individual differences in temporal percpectives and a temporal metacognition scale (TMCS). The analysis point to a significant role of temperament’s traits – emotional reactivity and liveliness – in the shaping of temporal balance. Moreover, it was shown that the relationship between temperament and balanced temporal perspective are mediated fully by the dimensions of temporal metacognition – metacognitive temporal control and goaloriented temporal continuity. Importantly, the first of these dimensions turned out to be conditioned by the temperament to a far larger degree than the second one (42% vs. 4% of the mediated variability). The result allows a conclusion of a various basis of the two aspects of metacognition: temperamental – in the case of control, and non-temperamental (cognitive or experiencebased) – in the case of continuity. Temporal metacognition can, therefore, be a mechanism responsible for relationships between temperament and balanced temporal perspective described in the field literature.

The complexity of the framing process is discussed in the introduction, then the linguistic aspect of political framing is debated and the technique of wording formulation in political discourse analyzed. In the shipping domain, many innovative technical systems have been designed and developed in the past decades, aiming to enable the maritime users to achieve the goal of safety, efficiency and effectiveness. The introduction of advanced technologies into workplaces have also created unprecedented challenges. Human users frequently find themselves in a supporting role to serve technology, being responsible for automation issues and blamed for “human errors” that sometimes result in tragic results. These challenges are closely associated with the design and use of technologies. Human‐technology interactions has become an important multidisciplinary research topic for shipping. This article reviews theoretical concepts relative to the dimensions of psychology, sociology and ecology in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) in order to form a deeper understanding of human‐technology interactions. This paper also discusses the theoretical constructs’ practical relevance by showing how a few cases exemplifying ongoing development sectors in shipping, such as energy efficiency optimisation, supervisory control of autonomous unmanned ships, and eco‐systems in engine control rooms, are understood with these theoretical perspectives. By presenting multidisciplinary understandings of human‐technology interaction, this paper aims to derive knowledge pertinent to methodological approaches and philosophical stances of future maritime human factors and HCI research.

The article focuses on relationship between time perspective and place of residen-ce. Five hundred and eleven Ukrainian participants completed the Zimbardo Time Per-spective Inventory [Ukrainian language version by Oksana Senyk (Senyk, 2012)] and a questionnaire that included the question about participants’ current place of residence and their place of residence in childhood. Answers to the questionnaire made it possible to consider in the research respondents’ change of residential place and its relation to the formation of different time orientations. The results have shown that the individu-al’s time perspective is influenced not by the specific life situation represented by his past or current place of residence, but upon his whole life story that includes changing different residential settlements. The research has also indicated that among all types of settlements rural settlements most significantly contribute to the development of time orientation towards a positive past.

This article is an attempt to analyze the impact of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial attitudes and intentions of young people: male and female students of Polish high schools and universities. The author makes an effort to verify the impact of the exposure to the business education and entrepreneurs on the decision to start-up. Special emphasis will be placed on the gender differences when discussing a respective factors’ impact and on the country context, especially when analyzing the influence of perception of entrepreneurs by young generation of respondents. The article will provide also a number of tips and guidelines for decision-makers in the wider area of entrepreneurship education, and thus ensuring proper orientation of policy support in this largely underestimated field of education.
Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą analizy wpływu kształcenia w zakresie przedsiębiorczości na postawy przedsiębiorcze i intencje młodych ludzi: uczniów polskich szkół średnich i studentów szkół wyższych. Autorka stara się zweryfikować wpływ ekspozycji na edukację biznesową i kontakty z przedsiębiorcami na decyzję o założeniu firmy. Szczególny nacisk został położony na różnice płci w tym zakresie. Artykuł zawiera również szereg wskazówek i wytycznych dla decydentów w kontekście nauczania przedsiębiorczości, a szczególnie odnośnie zapewnienia właściwego ukierunkowania wsparcia w tej niedocenianej dziedzinie edukacji.

Specific character of establishing short term plans in maturation period - research results The presented research is based on the human activities theories (Nuttin's concept of self behaviour (1980), Tomaszewski's theory of activities (1975) and Miller's, Galanter's and Pribram's theory of plans (1980)) as well as on the future time perspective of human beings theory (Nuttin 1980, Nurmi 1991, Zaleski 1991). The corę problem of the research focuses on the defmition of specificity of establishing short term plans (not longer than half year) by youth in relation to its agę. The author uses her ąuestionnaire "Future planning" constructed for the purpose of the research, which was created especially for studies on process of planning. The survey was conducted in 2004 in Warsaw and involved population a sample of 300 people (15-year-old students of grammar schools and 18-year-old students of secondary schools). The analysis of research results allows to draw up the following conclusions. Process of establishing plans by youth has its own specificity and is dependent on the youth agę. In comparison to students of grammar schools students of secondary schools use advanced planning strategies morę often (they gather information, mąkę notes, use diaries). The statistical analysis of the research results allows to conclude that students of grammar schools take advantage of generał strategies, while students of secondary schools - of detailed strategies in the process of establishing plans.

Niniejszy artykuł ma na celu uporządkowanie pojęć związanych z noetycznym wymiarem funkcjonowania człowieka oraz wprowadzenie systematyzacji terminologicznej w tym zakresie. Przedstawiono w nim krytyczne podejście do niektórych z funkcjonujących w literaturze definicji oraz zaproponowano nowy termin – „perspektywa noetyczna”. W klasyfikacji definicji uwzględniony został aspekt wewnętrzny (w obrębie „ja”) oraz zewnętrzny („ja” w relacji z obiektem), w ramach pięciu psychologicznych sfer funkcjonowania człowieka: poznawczej (intelektualnej), emocjonalno-motywacyjnej (behawioralnej), doświadczeniowej, fizycznej (fizjologicznej) oraz społecznej.
This article aims at clarification of notions associated with the noethic dimension of human functioning and at terminological systematization in this area. The article presents a critical approach to some of the definitions found in the literature and proposes a new term – “the noethic perspective”. In the classification of the definitions, the internal (within the self) and external (self in relationto others) aspect was taken into account, within five psychological spheres of human functioning: cognitive (intellectual), emotional-motivational (behavioral), experiential, physical (physiological) and social.

The article «"Journal du dehors» et «La vie extérieure» d'Annie Ernaux: l'engagement au quotidien" is an analysis of Ernaux's two texts within P. Bourdieu's sociological perspective. Taking an observation of the surrounding reality, where the narrative "I" is situated, as a starting point, Ernaux distinguishes two types of everyday situations: rituals and individual activities. The former shape mass behaviour which is governed by the political and economic system, whereas the latter - labelled by M. de Certeau as «pratiques subversives» - subconsciously go beyond the norm-established behaviour. Both types belong to popular culture and concern people who are dominated (domines). Taking their side, both word and deed, Ernaux defies the conventional structures she is entangled in by the mere fact of being a writer. Ernaux expresses this defiance in two ways. First, by rejecting the elitist notion of creator, second, through abandoning memory as a source of writing, by resigning from the genre of novel in favour of texts which deal with the synchronic movement of the narrative "I" in the world.

It is nearly impossible to study behaviour effectively without any reference to its context. This is because it is generally known in the psychological literature that behaviour is partially a product of its environment. This suggests that many behavioural processes may be universal but there are significant variations in their manifestations. For instance, love may be a universal process but its manifestation varies from one society to another. Given that ethical decision-making is a behavioural process, it stands to reason that its manifestation will vary from one culture to another. It is against this premise that this paper seeks to demonstrate that despite the existence of the ‘universal’ normative ethical principles, ethical decisions will be expected to vary across cultural space and even evolve with time. This paper achieves this objective by employing typical ethical dilemmas that Ghanaian psychologists and other health professionals encounter to show how and why what is ethical in one culture becomes unethical in the Ghanaian context and what is unethical in the Ghanaian context becomes ethical in another culture.

W artykule przedstawione zostały dwie perspektywy badania różno rodności i zarządzania różnorodnością. Pierwsza odnosi się do prak tyki zarządzania, druga do refleksji teoretycznej. Perspektywa praktyki zarządzania uwzględnia społeczne, kulturowe i polityczne uwarun kowania zmian społeczeństwa amerykańskiego w XX wieku. Per spektywa ta zakłada również, iż koncepcje zarządzania, w tym także zarządzanie różnorodnością, są narzędziami pomocnymi dla mene dżerów w realizacji ich ról zawodowych. Perspektywa druga uwzględ nia teorie psychologiczne wyjaśniające zachowania ludzi w organiza cji, a także proces kształtowania się poczucia tożsamości członków organizacji. Perspektywa teoretyczna uwzględnia również koncep cje filozoficzne podejmujące zagadnienie relacji między człowiekiem a drugim. Teorie psychologiczne i koncepcje filozoficzne nakazują ostrożność w poszukiwaniu praktycznych rozwiązań w ramach zarzą dzania różnorodnością.
The diversity in the organization. Management practice and the theo retical reflection. Two perspectives of the study of diversity and diversi ty management has been presented in the article. The first, refers to the practice of management and the second to the theoretical reflection. The perspective of the practice of management takes into account the cultural, social and political conditions of changes of American society in the XX century and assumes that management theories, also diver sity management are the instruments that help managers to play their social roles. The second perspective consists of psychological theories explaining human behavior in organizational settings, as well as prob lems of forming a sense of identity of members of organizations and philosophical reflexions concerning relations between self and others. Opis:
E-learning is becoming more and more popular form of students’ education. Universities should perceive it as one of their directions of development. The aim of the paper is to present the concept of using e-learning scorecard (eLSC) in the managemet of e-learning activity of the university. The project of e-learnig scorecard uses the academic e-learning experience of the Faculty of Management of CUT (Poland) and the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of SzIU (Hungary). The method allows for the complex investigation into the effects of the conducted activity and can be applied as a tool of management of the e-learning implementation, i.e. monitoring the achievement of goals. There are given the examples of aims of the conducted e-learning activity of the university in four perspectives applied in scorecard: financial, stakeholder’s, internal process and learning & growth. Furthermore, there are indicated the means of their implementation.
E-learning staje się coraz popularniejszą formą edukacji studentów. Uniwersytety powinny postrzegać ją jako jeden z kierunków rozwoju. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie koncepcji wykorzystania e-learningowej karty wyników (eLSC) w zarządzaniu działalnością e-learningową uczelni. Projekt karty wyników e-learnigu wykorzystuje doświadczenie e-learningu akademickiego Wydziału Zarządzania PCz (Polska) oraz Wydziału Nauk Ekonomicznych i Społecznych SzIU (Węgry). Metoda pozwala na kompleksowe badanie efektów przeprowadzonej działalności i może być stosowana jako narzędzie zarządzania wdrożeniem e-learningu, tj. monitorowanie realizacji celów. Podano przykłady celów prowadzonej działalności e-learningowej uniwersytetu w czterech perspektywach stosowanych w karcie wyników: finansowej, interesariuszy, procesów wewnętrznych oraz uczenia się i rozwoju. Ponadto wskazano sposoby ich realizacji.

Le roman Demain les chats (2016) de l’écrivain français Bernard Werber favorise une analyse de la perspective animale dans le récit. Comprendre la manière de présenter les protagonistes félins ainsi que les liens entre les animaux et les humains peut permettre des conclusions sur un monde futur potentiel dans lequel l’humanité a échoué lors de la transition entre l’Anthropocène et une apocalypse, tandis que les animaux deviennent à la fois les victimes de la catastrophe et le nouveau groupe dominant. D’abord, il faut établir le contexte et fournir des informations de base sur l’auteur, son œuvre et le roman abordé, en ce compris ses protagonistes félins. Dans l’étape suivante, au centre de l’analyse se trouve la façon de dépeindre les personnages des chats, caractérisée à l’aide d’une classification focalisée sur la relation entre les animaux et les humains. Cela mène à l’observation du caractère hybride des personnages et de la perspective adoptée par l’auteur pour les décrire. Enfin, l’analyse aboutit à la caractérisation du monde observé par les animaux, une réalité dystopique dans laquelle l’apocalypse marque la fin de l’Anthropocène et le changement dans le rapport de forces existant.
The novel Demain les chats (2016) by French writer Bernard Werber favors an analysis of the animal perspective in the narrative. Understanding the way the feline protagonists as well as the relationship between animals and humans are presented can allow conclusions about a potential world of the future in which humanity has failed during the transition between the Anthropocene and the apocalypse. Thus, the animals become both the victims of the catastrophe and the new dominant group. First, the context of the argument needs to be established by providing the fundamental information on the author, his works and the novel in question, including the feline protagonists. In the subsequent stage, the analysis will shift to the manner in which the characters of cats are depicted, examined by the means of a classification focused on the relationship between animals and humans. It leads to the observation of the hybrid nature of the characters and the perspective adopted by the author to describe them. Finally, the analysis results in the examination of the world perceived by the animals, a dystopian reality where the apocalypse marks the end of the Anthropocene and the change in the existing balance of power.

Purpose – Identification of efficiency and effectiveness of usage of the EU structural funds in Poland directed to financing of SME sector enterprises in the years 2014–2020.Methodology – Review and assessment of Polish and international documentary and research papers concerning the financing of SME sector enterprises with EU structural funds.Findings – The most substantial support for small and medium-sized enterprises has been planned as part of the Smart Growth or the Eastern Poland Operational Programmes and the Regional Operational Programmes. The total funding allocated to small and medium-sized enterprises within two thematic objectives stands at over EUR 15.7 billion. The European Union’s Cohesion Policy towards supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in the years 2014–2020 will provide them with easier access to EU funds thanks to new flexible rules. These include the submission of reports on the use of EU funds via the Internet, limiting to the degree of control over small enterprises, easier criteria for qualifying projects or a greater number of financial instruments and greater access to them.Research implications – Results of the paper may be used in further researches regarding the use of European structural funds in Poland as far as SME financing is concerned.Practical implications – Results of the paper may influence the government organisations and raise the effectiveness of the distribution of structural funds among proper enterprises, which will improve the general efficiency in spending European Union’s Structural Funds.Social implications – Results of the paper may foster the improvement of awareness of proper allocation of European Union’s Structural Funds in Polish SME sector enterprises.Originality/Value – The paper supplements knowledge regarding the financing of SME sector enterprises by European Union’s Structural Funds in Poland in the years 2014–2020.Type of article – A theoretical paper.

The aim of the thesis is to research the connections between time perspective and values of university students. The following investigative methods were used: The Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI) and Schwartz’s Portraits Value Questionnaire (PVQ-21). The group consisted of 127 students of Pedagogical University in Cracow. The results obtained show connections between temporal orientation and the values esteemed by the students. A positive correlation was found between Present-Hedonistic scale and following values: Hedonism, Stimulation and Self-direction, and negative correlation with Benevolence and Tradition. The Future perspective was positively associated with Conformity, Tradition, Achievements, Self-direction and Universalism, and negatively with Hedonism. Past-Positive is positively connected with Conformity and Tradition. Past-Negative – positively with Power and negatively with Stimulation and Self-direction.

This paper presents two researches conducted to verify the hypothesis that present temporal orientation is significant variable in describing human preferences of sexual strategies. First survey was conducted using as a independent variable two scales measuring temporal orientation: Carpe Diem (Sobol & Oleś, 2002), AION (Bajcar & Nosal, 2004), as a dependent variable was taken preferred sexual strategies measured by Sociosexsual Orientation Inventory (Simpson & Gangestad, 1991). Comparing participants with high rate of present temporal orientation vs low rate of present temporal orientation shows statistically significant differences in Sociosexuality Orientation Scale. Second research confirm hypothesis that participants declaring being sexoholic have higher rate of temporal concentration on presence measured by ZPTI (Zimbardo & Boyd, 2009).

The object of observation is the situation of Polish school in a fast changing world. The author pays attention to often only declaratory changes in ways of teaching, the lack of treatment of the student and the adaptation of teaching methods and materials. There are excessive encyclopaedism, a stress on acquisition of knowledge of descriptive grammar in terms of language education. It notices a necessity to develop pupils’ language skills, because a communication skill may be extremely important in everyday and future adult life. The use of sociolinguistic perspective in Polish language teaching is the way of developing pupils’ communicative competences. Implementation of the students to build and analyse statements taking into account a communication context and also transceiver roles. In the article there have been presented sample lesson solutions, which emphasizes the use of the language in situations close to pupils and avoiding encyclopaedism. It pays attention to the depth of the processed information that serves learning and memory, and also the relationship between teaching methods and the development and functioning of the brain.

Hearing impairment is the factor influencing individual experience and development. However, as it influences the identity development, it might also impact the temporal processes. The article analyses the three levels of psychological time in the context of contemporary research. The results are discussed in the frame of particularly crucial factors such as communication, language and culture. Temporal perspective is described in the context of world representation understood as a system of knowledge comprising an individual’s beliefs. This system, which plays a regulative role in making choices, building attitudes towards the real world and solving problems, develops as the individual gains experience. However, hearing-impaired adolescents concentrate on the present events more than their hearing peers.

The article presents relationship between history and management. Methodological inspirations between these disciplines have been shown and also the achievements carried out within the history of business and organizational theory have been described. The author has characterized the “historical turn” in organizational researches in the 1990s of XX century. In the subsequent part of the article, three methodological approaches have been characterized, namely: narrative research and storytelling, business history, and historical perspective in organizational research. The achievements of Polish researchers in the distinguished areas of research were taken into account. At the end, barriers to greater interest of using the historical perspective in the research of organizations, conducted by Polish researchers, have been presented. They are as follows: small share of historical knowledge in the education of management adepts, domination of a historical paradigms in organization and management research, the lack of continuity in the development of Polish organizations and scientific reflection on organizations and management in the 20th century and low historical awareness of Polish entrepreneurs and managers.

The author engages in a polemic with a structuralist perspective on globalisation. Whereas acknowledging the fact that the particular perspective has dominated the globalisation debate in recent years, he assumes a highly critical stand towards that view. In the authors' eyes, there is no evidence sufficient to support not only the structuralis thesis itself but also any deterministic approach towards globalisation. However, determinism - albeit of its multiple faces - still enjoys enormous popularity within the academic milieu, and even seems to be shared by the circles that consistently disagree on any other subject. In the end, it is argued the third wave of globalization requires a great deal of reflection at the level of ontology, epistemology and methodology.

Brexit is an unofficial term for the referendum, that took place in United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland at 23rdJune 2016, as well as an informal designation of the wholeprocess of leaving the European Union by UK. This event indicates challenges of identificational and definitional problems with reference to the European integration process, as well asto dynamically transforming standards of activities and information transmissions within the frames of sovereign nation states in the context of manifestations of factors arising from Europeanisation and globalisation processes. Among other consequences here appears the challenge associated with the issue of responsibility of selected professional groups with reference to both form and content of information conveyed within public sphere. Such perspective leads in turn to the questions about the role of representatives of social sciences and humanities within the field of politics, that is interactions between the field of politics and the field of science devoted to it.
Brexit to zarówno nieoficjalne określenie referendum, które odbyło się w Zjednoczonym Królestwie Wielkiej Brytanii i Irlandii Północnej w dniu 23 czerwca 2016 roku, jak i nieformalna nazwa całego procesu opuszczania Unii Europejskiej przez Wielką Brytanię. Wydarzenie to wskazuje na wyzwania związane z problemami identyfikacyjno-definicyjnymi zarówno w odniesieniu do europejskiego procesu integracyjnego, jak i do dynamicznie transformujących się standardów działania i przekazywania informacji w ramach suwerennych państw narodowych w kontekście uobecniających się czynników wynikających zarówno z procesu europeizacji, jak i globalizacji. Ukazuje się tu między innymi wyzwanie związane z zagadnieniem odpowiedzialności poszczególnych grup zawodowych w odniesieniu do formy oraz treści przekazywanych informacji w przestrzeni publicznej. Tego rodzaju optyka prowadzi z kolei do pytań o rolę reprezentantów nauk społecznych i humanistycznych w przestrzeni polityki, a zatem o interakcje między polem polityki i polem nauki o niej.

Prace badawcze prowadzone w obszarze psychologii temporalnej dostarczają rosnącej liczby danych, świadczących o doniosłej roli równoważonej perspektywy czasowej dla społecznej i emocjonalnej adaptacji jednostki. W niniejszej pracy podjęto próbę empirycznej replikacji wyniku, wskazującego na kluczową rolę cech temperamentu w rozwoju temporalnego zrównoważenia, pionierski zaś charakter przeprowadzonych analiz polegał na uwzględnieniu pośredniczącej roli zupełnie nowego konstruktu różnicowego – wymiarów emporalnego metapoznania. W przeprowadzonym badaniu wzięło udział 115 osób. Uczestnicy wypełnili kwestionariusz temperamentu FCZ- -KT, skalę ZTPI, służącą do pomiaru różnic indywidualnych w zakresie perspektyw czasowych oraz Skalę Temporalnego Metapoznania TMCS. Przeprowadzone analizy wskazują na istotną rolę cech temperamentu – Reaktywności Emocjonalnej i Żwawości – w kształtowaniu zrównoważenia temporalnego. Ponadto wykazano, że zależności pomiędzy temperamentem a zrównoważoną perspektywą czasową są w pełni mediowane przez wymiary temporalnego metapoznania – Metapoznawczą Kontrolę Temporalną oraz Zorientowaną na Cel Ciągłość Intertemporalną. Co ważne, pierwszy z tych wymiarów okazał się w dużo większym stopniu uwarunkowany temperamentalnie niż drugi (42% vs. 4% wyjaśnionej wariancji). Wynik ten pozwala wysunąć hipotezę dotyczącą odmiennego podłoża obydwu aspektów temporalnego metapoznania: temperamentalnego w przypadku kontroli oraz pozatemperamentalnego (poznawczego lub doświadczeniowego) w przypadku ciągłości. Temporalne metapoznanie może być zatem mechanizmem odpowiedzialnym za opisywane w literaturze przedmiotu związki między temperamentem a zrównoważoną perspektywą czasową.
Scientific studies carried out in the field of temporal psychology present a growing number of data suggesting an important role of a balanced temporal perspective in social and emotional adaptation of an individual. The current study attempted to empirically replicate a result suggesting a key role of temperament’s characteristics in the development of temporal balance. The novel character of erformed analysis took into account a new differentiating construct – dimensions of temporal metacognition. The study employed 115 participants. They filled in the personality quetsionnaire FCZ-KT, Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory, which measures individual differences in temporal percpectives and a temporal metacognition scale (TMCS). The analysis point to a significant role of temperament’s traits – emotional reactivity and liveliness – in the shaping of temporal balance. Moreover, it was shown that the relationship between temperament and balanced temporal perspective are mediated fully by the dimensions of temporal metacognition – metacognitive temporal control and goaloriented temporal continuity. Importantly, the first of these dimensions turned out to be conditioned by the temperament to a far larger degree than the second one (42% vs. 4% of the mediated variability). The result allows a conclusion of a various basis of the two aspects of metacognition: temperamental – in the case of control, and non-temperamental (cognitive or experiencebased) – in the case of continuity. Temporal metacognition can, therefore, be a mechanism responsible for relationships between temperament and balanced temporal perspective described in the field literature.

This review discusses the book by Aleksander W. Mikołajczak and Patryk Borowiak entitled Design saszetki z cukrem. O komunikowaniu się z rzeczami (On the Design of a Packet of Sugar. How We Communicate with Objects). The text focuses on the interactions between people and objects, a phenomenon intrinsic to postmodernity, or the contemporary consumerist culture. The work is a peculiar biography of the packet of sugar and presents a multifaceted exploration thereof. The authors depart from the commonly conducted statistical analysis of the object of interest and instead endeavour to present the full extent of its existence and all the subsequent stages of its life, pointing to the complexity and the volatility of the process; this should be considered an innovative approach at its own right. The packet of sugar is viewed not only in the sociocultural perspective, but also through the lens of linguistics and onomastics.

The book Critical Theory and Authoritarian Populism edited by Jeremiah Morelock was published by University of Westminster Press in 2018. It is not only a recent, but also an extremely up-to-date publication due to the subject matter. The 299-page volume is divided into three chapters: “Theories of Authoritarianism”, “Foundations of Authoritarianism”, and “Digital Authoritarianism.” Within each of these, three, or in the case of the first chapter, four sections can be distinguished. Below, I will present the main themes of the book with reference to the political situation in Poland and Europe. From the pedagogical point of view, the developmental and educational implications of the issues discussed seem particularly important.

In the present contribution, which follows on from the discussion already initiated, problems of profiling the bilingual discourse of understanding are discussed. Aspects of the shaping of the discourse are addressed on the basis of previously undiscussed evidence from the bilingual journal “Region”. The discourse makes an original contribution to reconciliation between the Germans and the Poles. The discourse is profiled in a specific way. In the discourse under investigation, aspects are addressed that concern Germans and Poles in mutual contact.

This paper considers competences of the foreign language teacher in the Republic of Cro-atia. Despite the clear classifi cation of foreign language teacher competences on a primary level, which was developed within the TEMPUS project, no reliable instrument has yet been constructed to account for those competences. The purpose of my research was to investigate the metric characteristics of an instrument which could be useful for determining foreign language teacher competences in the Republic of Croatia. A questionnaire was applied to 126 study participants (bachelor and master English language and literature students). The fi nal version of the questionnaire consisted of eighteen items and four factors, which were extrac-ted using exploratory factor analysis. The results have shown that the developed instrument is not fully applicable to the Croatian foreign language learning context. Still, some of its aspects may be used in future instrument construction.

This paper takes up the questions of illustrating architecture in the perspective way, either in the intuitive way originating from observations of nature as well as in the graphical, geometrical way and in the form of Computer Simulation. Examples of paintings taking up this subject from various periods have been given, with particular emphasis put on Renaissance as the period of heyday in the art of perspective. The status of the perspective in the modern days has been presented as well (its Creators and receivers).
Praca niniejsza podejmuje zagadnienia obrazowania architektury w sposób perspektywiczny zarówno intuicyjny z obserwacji natury jak i wykreślny, geometryczny oraz w formie symulacji komputerowej. Przedstawiono przykłady dzieł malarskich z różnych epok podejmujących tę tematykę, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem renesansu jako okresu szczytowych osiągnięć sztuki perspektywy. Zaprezentowano również pozycję perspektywy w czasach współczesnych (jej kreatorów oraz odbiorców).

Zimbardo i Johna Boyda, dotyczącą czasu psychologicznego, oraz Shelley A. Fahlman, Kimberley B. Mercer-Lynn, Davida B. Flory i Johna D. Eastwooda, traktującą o nudzie. Ponadto przeanalizowano związek subiektywnej percepcji czasu z odczuwaniem nudy. W ramach dwóch wspomnianych koncepcji określono, na podstawie badań własnych, empiryczne zależności pomiędzy czasem psychologicznym a nudą. Uzyskane wyniki należy rozpatrywać w odniesieniu do jakości życia. oraz Shelley A. Fahlman, Kimberley B. Mercer-Lynn, Davida B. Flory i Johna D. Eastwooda, traktującą o nudzie. Ponadto przeanalizowano związek subiektywnej percepcji czasu z odczuwaniem nudy. W ramach dwóch wspomnianych koncepcji określono, na podstawie badań własnych, empiryczne zależności pomiędzy czasem psychologicznym a nudą. Uzyskane wyniki należy rozpatrywać w odniesieniu do jakości życia.
The text presents two theoretical concepts: psychological time (by Philip G. Zimbardo and John Boyd) and boredom (by Shelley A. Fahlman, Kimberley B. Mercer-Lynn, David B. Flor and John D. Eastwood). A relationship between subjective perspective of time and feeling of boredom is described. Operating in the framework of the two concepts and basing on own research, the empirical relationship between psychological time and boredom was defined. The results should be analyzed with reference to life quality.

This paper presents a method of restoring space, based upon a pair of non-colinear superwideange images. Images used in this paper were taken with digital camera and use stereospheric projection. Because of the very large field of view of the images, the whole halfspace can be restored.
W pracy przedstawiono metodę restytucji stereopar niekolinearnych, wykonywanych za pomocą aparatu cyfrowego z nasadką typu “rybie oko”. Metoda opiera się na założeniu, że projekcja ma charakter równokątny, oraz wykorzystuje analityczne wyznaczenie wartości kątów dwuściennych między pionową płaszczyzną symetrii obrazu i płaszczyznami zawierającymi poszczególne rozważane krawędzie wnętrza.

The issue of morality does not represent a dominant topic of the current psychological research, although the interest of predominantly social psychologist in understanding the processes that are behind reasoning of people with respect to moral issues and explaining moral or immoral behaviour can not be denied. The submitted study presents a brief introduction of basic psychological concepts dealing with morality emphasizing the specific notion of moral orientation. The orientation to justice or to care when solving moral dilemmas is known in literature under the term the moral orientation. Gilligan can see the cause of differences in moral orientation in gender differences acquired during the process of socialization. A psychological approach provides many useful explanation of how thinking of people with respect to moral issues is pursued. The actual psychology of morality is mainly based on cognitivistic theories coming out of conceptions of Piaget and Kohlberg. They interconnected approaches isolated and focused on intentions by that time and emphasized importance of a constitutional conditioning of moral judgment. The attention was aimed to judgment processes having an adequate level of cognitive development as an indispensable (even if not sufficient) condition. An important contribution of cognitivists is based also on a rich professional discussion that they invoked. Supporters of cognitivistic scheme “neo-kohlbergians” or its criticisers revise and amend the basic Kohlberg`s model in such aspects as relativizing of a primary role of cognitions as a sole aspect of the moral decision making, emphasize the significance of concept, situations, type of solved dilemma, influence of conventions, point out the differences in solving hypothetical dilemmas and dilemmas of everyday life etc.

The diary of Petro Apostol belongs to great samples of documentary prose of the beginning of the 18th century. Th e document indicates an expressive influence of the European ideological and cultural trend of the Enlightenment, which found its reflection in the language, figurative system and problems. Th e author wrote his diary for more than two years - from May 1725 to August 1727. Th ere are several motifs in the diary, against the background and in the interweaving of which the historical era of Ukraine of that time is visible. First of all, it is told about the family of the Apostols and their life in the Myrgorod regiment. Th e system of images created by the author is interesting - here his parents, peasants, Cossacks, serfs, Cossacks foremen, Russian nobles, merchants, princes, tsars, foreigners, friends of the author. Th e author’s attitude to his heroes is characteristic of enlighteners. It is rationalistic, that is, each mentioned person in society performs his function regardless of which class he belongs to. Particular interest in a wide range of problems that the author writes about in his notes - he is interested in family, agriculture, relations between people, legal issues, the problem of serfdom, poverty, personal relations, he talks about books and newspapers, about friends, about his father, about Prince Menshikov and his service, talks about entertainment and leisure, about dances and receptions, talks about clothes and everyday life, about gift s for the family, about his wife, about baptism and the birth of a child. Th e author does these problems esthetic in his notes, puts them into literary practice.

Freedom as a subject of academic research in psychology has always been confined to a space regarded as difficult to explore. Since the beginning of psychology as a branch of science, the discussion of freedom has been fragmented. The adoption of a specific repertoire of methodological and philosophical assumptions has ignited interest in the topic and issues of freedom. The history of freedom being present in psychology is an ongoing struggle between different paradigms regarding the nature of this subject and its associated methods of examination. During the nineties of the last century, there was a shaping of the direction referring to the achievements of humanistic psychology, as emphasizing the importance of subjective human experience. The authors of this approach, taking care of a methodological workshop and conducting a series of empirical studies, have proposed a new approach to the study of freedom in psychology. The most important achievement of the phenomenological-contextual approach was to draw attention to the possibility of exploring in scientific research the phenomenon of freedom in psychology that has been rejected as a matter of the intersection of science and philosophy.

The purpose of the article/hypothesis: The goal of this paper is to analyze tax evasion with special emphasis on gender. Factors influencing tax noncompliance such as age, income, education, confidence in government, political scale and religiosity are analyzed. Methodology: Tax evasion is analyzed based on the most recent (Wave 7) World Value Survey data with the significance of differences between respondents, correlation and regression models analysis. Results of the research: It has been found that there are significant differences between the global approach and groups of males and females when the acceptance of cheating on taxes is taken into consideration. The analysis of groups reflected the fact that all factors influence respondents in the same way without distinguishing between males and females.

Introduction: Dissonance between the high ‘technical’ competences of medical professionals, including paramedics or emergency medical technicians (EMT), and the relatively low level of patient satisfaction with care received, is a phenomenon observed in many countries. Many studies show that it occurs in the case of an inadequate interpersonal communication between medical professionals and patients. The primary goal of the presented research was evaluation of the level (study of the state) of communication competences of paramedics, and determination of the factors on which this level depends. An additional goal was analysis of the needs and educational possibilities within the existing models of education in the area of interpersonal communication provided by higher medical education institutions. Methods: The following three methods were used: 1) documentation analysis (standards, plans and educational programmes); 2) diagnostic survey concerning professional communication competences of paramedics; 3) self-reported communication skills in emergency medical services – adjective check list. The last two instruments were subject to standardization from the aspect of reliability and validity. The study group covered a total of 105 respondents in the following subgroups: 1) professional paramedics who, as a rule, were not trained in interpersonal communication (31 respondents); paramedic students covered by a standard educational programme (54 respondents); 3) paramedic students who, in addition to a standard educational programme, attended extra courses in professional interpersonal communications (20 respondents). Results: The results of studies indicate poor efficacy of shaping communication competences of paramedics based on education in the area of general psychology and general interpersonal communication. Communication competences acquired by paramedics during undergraduate education are subject to regression during occupational activity. Discussion: Methods of evaluating communication competences are useful in constructing group and individual programmes focused on specific communication competences, rather than on general communication skills.

In these remarks I make the attempt to present the issue of the relation between the scientific knowledge and religious faith. It is being discussed since many centuries. In the Middle Ages it was also called the “two truths”. Nowadays it is called however as the two magisteria. The name had been proposed by the American evultionary biologist Stephen J. Gould. In his proposition it is linked to the NOMA (Non-Overlapping Magisteria) principle. It met with critique from the side of those scholars who, just as Richard Dawkins, share the view that there’s only one magisteria and it is made by science with no space for religious faith. Reservations had also been made by those scholars who, just as Andrew Newberg, do agree on the existence of two magisteria, but they should  complete each other and they are convinced that with the passing of time they will do so. I have critical remarks on both of those two views. I see however the positive side of the intentions of Gould and Newberg.

The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the Polish people’s life. At the same time the development period may also modify a perception of life situation. The paper presents the results of research on temporal perspective in the early (n = 38) and the middle (n = 38) adulthood in a pandemic situation. Participants of the study wrote a narrative about their life. The obtained narratives were analyzed according to the categories distinguished by Zimbardo and Boyd and coded: past positive perspective, past negative perspective, present fatalistic perspective, present hedonistic perspective, future perspective. Some extra categories of perspectives were also used: the neutral dimension (in relation to the past, present and future) and axiological (in relation to present). Results showed dominance of present perspective in both groups, wherein it was more frequent in the early adulthood. There were statistically significant differences in present fatalistic perspective – in the early adulthood it occurred more frequently. No significant differences between groups were noticed in reference to other perspectives. The obtained material probably captures a part of the process of incorporating atypical life situations into the internal narrative scheme. It also seems that the pandemic crisis triggered the need to focus on maintaining the current level of functioning in the face of new challenges.

This essay explores several novels by contemporary Northern Irish writers with an eye to assessing how The Troubles are represented in their pages. Some of the more recent writings concerned with the conflict and its aftermath (i.e. those published over the last 25 years) may seem to be quite detached and even ironic or parodic but on closer inspection the use of the postmodern distancing devices in those works – paradoxically – proves to testify to a profound emotional commitment on the part of all the narrators involved in reminiscing about the Troubles.

Foresight. as modern planning tool. "Clean Sky" project will effect in creating new technologies, which usage in aviation will improve fast progress of technique. The paper indicates the newest technologies or technologies which will develop in about 25 years. Aircraft industry future technologies for Polish conditions have been discussed. List of perspective technologies for aviation and engineering industry has been described. These technologies may be developed in Poland to increase economy competitiveness. New revolutionary materials for aviation industry have been presented. Machine tool technologies, especially Computer Numerical Control (CNC), High Speed Machining (HSM) have emerged as effective mechanisms in the aerospace, automotive, and die and mould industries. These new technologies are attractive for competitive manufacturing because of their technical advantages, i.e. a significant reduction in lead-time, high product accuracy, and good surface finish. However, HSM not only stimulates advancements in cutting tools and materials, it also demands increasingly sophisticated CAD/CAM software, and powerful CNC controllers that require more supportive technologies. This paper describes the computational requirement and cutting parameters of HSM, look ahead programming and simulation.

This paper presents an analytical review of the development of machine tools (MT) into complex mechatronic systems. The basic periods, inventions and achievements in their historical development are marked which are represented in seven stages depending on the most essential changes for each period. Other fundamental and important discoveries and inventions are given along with the immediate achievements and changes which have affected the development of MT. A diagram of the changes in the relationship between the MT mechanical, electronic and software components is presented depending on the rate of development of the different stages as well as an opinion is shared on the conceptual schema of the environment of a future intelligent MT.

While discussion on faculty development in China has been increasing in recent years, our understanding of the strategy for the development remains limited. This study with a survey aimed to examine whether e-learning could meet faculty members’ expectations for their professional development. Our findings suggest that e-learning is identified as a preferred means of opening new opportunities to meet the needs of faculty in China where faculty development still remains traditional training and it has bright prospects. The result also highlights individual perspectives as a critical factor shaping e-learning behavior, and provides implications for the policy of faculty development.

Aristotle describes "Time" as the amount of motion. For Aristotle, time as the Eternal Image as it is the case for Plato has no signification. The Aristotle's perspective is also incompatible with that of Plotinus who considers time as dynamism and motion of soul. Aristotle considers time as the amount of motion on a continuum of pre and post (before and after) other than the motion itself. The Medieval and modern philosophers, also examine time from special points of view in line with their own empirical and rational approaches. Not only, does Aristotle examine time from a natural and physical perspective, but he also addresses aspects of time, particularly the moment of "Now". He considers the moment of "Now" as the live and real time moment. Aristotle maintains that time is a phenomenon depending on the soul. The Aristotle's perspective, in fact expresses a kind of dependency between time and the identifier subject (subject); i.e. Aristotle is concerned with examination of time from a subjective view.

The study concerns the positivity effect in temporal comparisons involving the self (one’s view of the self in the past versus present versus future). We examined whether teenagers would perceive personal progress from the past to the future and from the present to the future. Forty eight participants (35 women) aged between 17 and 18 (M = 17.51, SD = 0.51) evaluated a set of 18 characteristics (9 positive and 9 negative). The set of traits included characteristics from the fundamental dimensions of social judgment (agency and communion) and from the dimension of morality. All participants evaluated each trait three times. They indicated the degree to which the traits described them 3 years ago, then the degree to which the traits describe them now, and the degree to which the traits will describe them in 3 years. Answers were given using a 7-point scale with endpoints of 1 (not at all), through 4 (moderately) to 7 (extremely so). The results confirmed most of our predictions and they were consistent with the theory of temporal self-appraisal [11]. In the case of positive traits on each dimension participants rated their present selves higher than their past selves, and they also rated their future selves higher than their present selves. In the case of negative traits the positivity effect occurred only for the changes that participants predicted would occur from the present to the future. More specifically, participants’ ratings of their future selves were lower than their ratings of their present selves. The results indicate that teenagers tend to rate themselves to be better and better over time (from the past to the future) and that they are particularly optimistic about their future changes.

Implicit perspective-takingThe paper investigates the presence of perspective-induction and implicit form of perspective-taking (perspective-comply) in a triadic joint engagement and treats them as foundational for explicit perspective-taking. The analysis focuses on the participation of those processes in such behaviours as gaze-following, social referencing, pointing, and joint action. By engagement in these activities children provide the evidence of implicit understanding of separateness of one’s own perspective and that of the others. Due to their reference to the psychological common ground emerging between them, participants of a coordinated joint engagement are able to adequately understand their activities. Development of the ability for explicit (articulated) perspective-taking is possible only as an outcome of participations in joint attention and joint engagement.

Universities are now faced with a huge challenge. They need to see the change in society and due to this, they must change themselves. United Nations Environment Programme might be helpful in this process. The implementation process is difficult as many people are involved. The understanding of the process and of its necessity must be shared by every member of a particular institution. The term ‘sustainable development’, even if used so commonly, may be understood differently, so further research is suggested on clarifying the term. Due to its popularity, many universities are now involved in many activities like signing a declaration of sustainable development or other initiatives. For some of those institutions, it is an apparent action that is not followed by any action later. The goals itself are very useful for higher education institutions as they play a role of a road map on the way to establishing strong and living links with the society as such, represented by stakeholders.

The present study focuses on the link between career indecision status and time perspective of high school students. Previous works mainly investigated the relationship between future orientation and career indecision, neglecting attitudes towards other time perspective dimensions, such as the past and the present. Therefore, our aim was to overcome this hiatus by using the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (Zimbardo & Boyd, 1999) and Career Factor Inventory (Chartrand, Robbins, Morrill & Boggs, 1990) in a sample of 683 high school students. By considering variable-centered and person-centered analyses, results suggest that scores on TP factors are closely associated with the career indecision type that one can be classified into. “Path seeker” and “Ready to decide” students have a balanced time perspective; “Chronically indecisive” youngsters have a time perspective pattern which is dominated by the past negative factor and they are less future-oriented; “Choice anxious” students have scores lower on all TP factors (except Past-Negative TP) than any other group.

Constructed for clinical use and based on the concept of the feedback and feedforward systems in “cybernetic-psychology,” the Time Perspective Scale (TPS) was administered to three clients in order to assess the effects of psychotherapy. Two clients were withdrawn, suffering from a condition known as hikikomori in Japan; the other client was diagnosed with PTSD after suffering a major personal loss as a result of the Eastern Japan earthquake and tsunami in 2011. The TPS was administered at pre-, mid-, and post-interventions. In addition, the Hildreth Feeling-Attitude Scale (F-A Scale) and the Kumamoto University Competence Scale (KUCS) were also administered to compare the results of the TPS. Results from the TPS indicated that at the end of the intervention, clients’ thoughts were positively focused on the present and the future. In comparison to their negative thoughts concerning the present and the future during the pre-intervention period, two clients displayed positive feedback regarding the past, and all clients displayed positive thoughts about the present as well as positive feedforward thoughts for the future. Similar to the TPS, the F-A Scale and the KUCS indicated that the clients had more positive and more constructive cognitions after the intervention. Therefore, the TPS is a useful questionnaire for assessing the therapeutic efficacy of the time perspective.

This paper addresses the issue of language and belonging in the transnational context of migration. It draws on two research projects with first-generation children of Polish labour migrants in Scotland. The paper examines the role that language plays in fostering multiple ways of being and belonging, and in understanding how children make sense of their identity. It suggests that language should take a more central place in debates about cultural connectivity and transnational migration. Findings point to the need for a more holistic approach to supporting migrant children, including the explicit recognition of family cultural and language capital in the host society.

The paper aims to provide an overview of the main streams of perception of Israeli and Palestinian national identities by Polish authorities and society, as well as analyze their sources. The study covers the period of time when both of the national identities took shape, that is since the beginning of the mass Jewish migration to Palestine at the beginning of the XXth century until the present time. As the Jews have for a long time been an important part of Polish history and society, Poles have a strong perception of Jewish, and consequently also Israeli, identity. Polish Jews, who played a crucial role in establishing the Israeli state and shaping Israeli national identity, were treated by many Poles as “our Jews”. This perception was conditioned by internal factors, such as social relations, cultural proximity, historical memory or political views. In contrast, a perception of the Palestinian identity from the very beginning was conditioned externally, because it resulted from international political developments and a narrative imposed by foreign powers. Another special feature of the Polish perception of Israeli and Palestinian identity is the fact that public opinion very often differs significantly from the political position of state authorities.

Scientific surveys, reports, and publications identify current threats to beekeeping, which include biological, chemical, environmental, economic, and legal factors. The last two, in particular, involve challenging circumstances that significantly undermine the national beekeeping sector. The aim of this article is to identify main problems of an economic and legal nature that pose threat to contemporary apicultural activity, and to offer some suggestions to solve them. The research results reveal main shortcomings of the beekeeping sector in Poland, among them lack of appropriate use of the pollinating activity of bees, which could contribute to a significant increase of the profitability and efficiency of apicultural activity. In the author’s opinion, both Polish agricultural entrepreneurs and beekeeping producers fail to take advantage of nomadic beekeeping and the so-called “pollination contracts”, which are successfully implemented e.g. in the United States. Furthermore, enhancing performance of the domestic beekeeping sector is possible – investments should be made to improve the resilience and competitiveness of the beekeeping industry, including the development of human capital by encouraging the younger generation of farmers to take up employment in the beekeeping sector. Consideration should also be given to a system of support for beekeeping and its taxation, so that amateur beekeepers can also benefit from the aid, while all beekeepers would be taxed in proportion to their income.

In the paper there is an analysis conducted of the basic both geometrical and artistic aspects influencing the originality of panorama phenomenon. The considerations are concentrated on the panoramic images of the architectural objects, which were an entirely innovative approach to presentation of the architectural space. The author emphasis that the idea of the panorama painting didn't disappear with the appearance of high technologies imitating and mapping reality. In our times panoramic images are also being developed as reconstruction of Barker’s panoramas in the original format as well as new presentations of various scale. The complement of the classical panoramas are panoramas in which the digital technology is used, mainly designed by Y. Asisi as well as virtual panoramas spread on the Internet. It is shown in the paper that every type of panoramas independently of its form is subordinated to the initial assumption of enabling the wide audience suggestive watching views under the condition of the proper localization of the observation spot. Each panorama in its structure has to conform to geometrical rules of mapping such kind of paintings. Getting to know these rules and a detailed mathematical description of them can be useful in the specific implementations of panorama images, treated as the contemporary works of art or as the forms of graphical mapping enriching design or promotional documentation of the architectural objects.
W artykule przeprowadza się analizę zarówno geometrycznych jak i artystycznych aspektów wpływających na oryginalność panoramowego zjawiska. Rozważania prezentowane w artykule, przede wszystkim są skoncentrowane na panoramicznych obrazach obiektów architektonicznych, które były całkowicie innowacyjnym podejściem do przedstawiania przestrzeni architektonicznej. Autorka podkreśla iż obecnie, w czasach dynamicznego rozwoju telewizji i wirtualnych form multimedialnych ponownie powraca się do oglądania panoram. Co więcej, idea malarstwa panoramowego nie zanikła wraz z pojawieniem się nowoczesnych technik imitujących i odwzorowujących rzeczywistość. Współcześnie również powstają panoramiczne obrazy jako odtworzenie panoram Barkera w oryginalnym formacie, jak również nowe przedstawienia o różnej skali. Uzupełnienie klasycznych panoram stanowią panoramy, w których wykorzystuje się technologię cyfrową, głównie autorstwa Y. Asisi, jak również panoramy wirtualne rozpowszechnione w Internecie. Autorka pokazuje w artykule, że każdy rodzaj panoramy, niezależnie od jej formy, jest podporządkowany wyjściowemu założeniu: umożliwienia szerokiej widowni sugestywnego oglądania widoków pod warunkiem odpowiedniej lokalizacji miejsca obserwacji. Każda panorama, musi więc w swej strukturze podporządkowywać się prawidłom geometrycznym rządzącym zapisem tego rodzaju obrazów. Poznanie tych prawideł oraz szczegółowy ich opis matematyczny może okazać się przydatny w konkretnych realizacjach obrazów panoramowych, traktowanych jako współczesne dzieła sztuki, względnie jako formy zapisu graficznego wzbogacającego dokumentację projektową lub promocyjną obiektów architektonicznych.

In the European Union, the proportion of people employed in agriculture is continuously decreasing. In Poland, nearly 15% of the actively employed population work in the sectors of agriculture, forestry and fishery, which is well above the European average of around 5%. This ratio is 5.1% in Hungary. Besides the decrease of the percentage of people employed in agriculture, a low proportion of young farmers can also be observed. In order to ensure alignment with the strategy Europe 2020: smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, the pillar of rural development of the Common Agricultural Policy will be based on six priorities in the fields of agriculture, forestry and food processing. Apart from achieving these goals, young agricultural producers will be performing a prominent role as the engagement of young people in the agrarian sector is indispensable for the future of the sector. In my study, I examined the various reasons why young agricultural producers had started agricultural activities, and to what extent they consider it their key task to make agriculture sustainable and to protect the land and their environment.
Celem badań było określenie różnych przyczyn, dla których młodzi producenci rolni rozpoczęli działaność rolną i w jakim stopniu uważają oni za swoje główne zadanie wprowadzanie rolnictwa zrównoważonego oraz ochronę ziemi i jej otoczenia. W Unii Europejskiej liczba zatrudnionych w sektorze rolnym nieprzerwanie maleje. W Polsce prawie 15% aktywnie zatrudnionej populacji pracuje w sektorze rolnym, leśnym i w rybołówstwie. Odsetek ten jest znacznie wyższy od średniej europejskiej, która wynosi około 5%, a na Węgrzech 5.1%. Poza zmniejszaniem się udziału ludzi zatrudnionych w sektorze rolnym, obserwuje się również niski odsetek młodych rolników. The article discusses some legal and socio-territorial problems of reforming local government and the territorial organization of power in Ukraine, especially in the context of the formation of self-governing territorial communities. The need to make appropriate amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine regarding the planned reform, and to adopt the new Law On Local Self-Government, is emphasized. The article describes the criteria for the competencies of territorial communities while focusing on their compliance with future plans for the formation of the territories of communities. The number of united communities by region of Ukraine from 2015 to March 2018, their respective areas, and the number of inhabitants are analyzed. A general rating of the regions of Ukraine regarding the process of the formation of united communities is derived. The level of coverage by united communities of the territory of the districts of Ukraine is analyzed. The author of the article concludes that the process of forming self-governing territorial communities should be approached comprehensively and a number of measures are proposed to solve these problems.

The aim of the article is to confirm the assumption that perspective is one of the tools that build a photographic act of communication. It has been observed that the perspective allows to obtain the illusion of the third dimension on the two-dimensional surface of the photograph but also creates multiple systems of meaning and even becomes a symbolic form. The focus was on the works of Jeanloupe Sieff, a photographer who used a perspective tool in an innovative way that allowed him to create both realistic, ‘superficial’ presentations and surrealistic, ‘deep’ meaning contexts.

Water is becoming a scarce resource due to the immense intensification of agricultural activity, climate change, and demographic pressure. Hence, information on water use/management and their associated management practices is essential for selecting, planning, implementing, and monitoring schemes that optimise water use to meet the increasing demand related to basic human needs and welfare. This study presents the farmers’ perception of climate change from a gender sensitive perspective to promote adaptation and optimise irrigation/agricultural productivity in a compound surface-ground water system within the Anger sub-basin (Ethiopia). The study results showed that climate change affects water demand and supply routes in which more than 65% of the decrease in lake water level is due to climate change and overuse of surface water. The research findings show that women’s recognition and apprehension of climate change is much greater than men’s. Thus, women’s role in farming is important for ensuring food security at the household level. Gender sensitivity and can play a role in preventing the change in climate through optimising irrigation efficiency and suggesting the need for further research on its application to science. The study demonstrates that women’s participation in agricultural tasks, crisis management, and informal institutions is more vigorous than men’s. On the other hand, the understanding and communication of farmers is based on experience and concerns about the climate impact. Moreover, studies showed that climate change has a potential impact on the access to water supply for agriculture, urbanisation, and the environment. Therefore, there is a need to assess the dynamics of surface-groundwater interaction as affected by climate change and gender inequality to optimise the irrigation system.

In their article, the authors discuss the findings of the audit on how the obligation to provide for sustainability of projects is fulfilled in three Polish regions: Lubuskie, Małopolskie and Śląskie. The article presents the principles related to project sustainability, set forth in Regulation (EU) No 1083/2006 of the Council, and the most important problems and irregularities in their application. A need has been observed to clarify the requirements in contracts concluded in the new financial perspective (2014−2020), related to archiving and marking documents, rooms and devices, and, in the first place, to clear defining of indicators for project impact, implementation of tasks and maintaining sustainability of effects.

Collaborative planning for city development. A perspective from a city planner. A number of definitions related to collaborative governance have been developed since early 2000. The common characteristics of collaborative governance are, among others, policy consensus, community visioning, consensus rule-making, and collaborative network structures. Collaborative planning is a new paradigm of planning for a complex contemporary society through which it encourages people to be engaged in a dialogue in a situation of equal empowerment and shared information to learn new ideas through mutual understanding, to create innovative outcomes and to build institutional capacity. This indicates that collaborative planning can provide policy makers with more effective community participation. Collaborative process is the key of collaborative planning which also emphasizes the significant role of collaborative leadership. The process includes a participatory activity of dialogue oriented to the joint decision and summarized in a collaborative process. The collaborative leadership is crucial for setting and maintaining clear ground rules, building trust, facilitating dialogue, and exploring mutual gains. Along with the shift of planning paradigm, the role of city planner will also change since the city planning deals with the political process. In the political process, city planners must be able to perform as technocrats, bureaucrats, lawyers and politicians who always uphold their ethics because they are responsible to the society, the assignor for their integrity and professionalism.

This review examines the trend of applying theories in LM performance and offers the latest recapitulation of related theories in LM performance. The methodology is based on Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) to search for multiple scientific information databases and to guarantee that no important study is overlooked. For the single theory, highly employed theories were the Theory of Constraints, Resource-based View/Natural Resource-based View Theory (RBV/NRBV), and Contingency Theory (CT). Meanwhile, several employed integrations of several theories in a publication. Concerning the year of publication, significant growth in articles with underpinned theories was published articles from 2020 onwards. This study offers several significant contributions to researchers to widen the knowledge related to the adaptation of theories in the field of lean performance, as research underpinned by a theory offers a solid and convincing result in investigating the research problems. The first limitation was the search string to identify the related articles, which could be extended to maximize the article search. The other limitation was the database used which was limited to the Scopus database. Despite the importance of underpinning theory in research, OM has been criticized for the inadequacies of its theory, with only one-third of OM research incorporating theory. However, a limited review was conducted on the theories used in LM performance theory. To reduce this gap, this review examines the trend of applying theories in LM performance and offers the latest recapitulation of related theories in LM performance.

Aim. The article is aimed at proving the hypothesis that there are significant correlations between the defense mechanisms and the perception of time perspective in young people under the conditions of war. Methods. The study was held in May 2022 with the involvement of students who were relocated to the west of Ukraine from the eastern regions due to active hostilities. The following research methods were used: survey; psychological testing (Life Style Index, Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory); statistic analysis. Results. The study shows that the most common defense mechanisms of young people during the war are: repression, projection and displacement. At the same time, men use the defense mechanism of projection more often than women, and women are more prone to regression. It is determined that young people during the war are the least oriented towards the future. Also, there are very few who would perceive the past negatively. Conclusion. The data obtained during the research indicate the need to develop a program of psychological support for young people during the war, which would allow: to develop awareness of one's own experiences, defense mechanisms, ways of ecologically living through traumatic experience; to form a healthier attitude to time, which would include planning for the future at least for the short term and would contribute to increasing motivation for life and self-development.

Children’s rights should be applicable for children, and be acknowledged by children themselves and practice them in the present and future lives. The increasing awareness and concern about children’s rights need a thorough investigation of how children themselves understand their rights. The aim of this study is to analyze the perspective of children in Lebanon of their rights and examine the impact of democratic movements on their understanding of their rights. A qualitative research methodology was employed and data were gathered in the form of semi-structured VoIP interviews. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the collected data. The analysis presented in this paper signifies that the democratic movements are being both a source and an approach of recognizing and practising children’s rights, especially the right to participate, freedom of expression, and equality, along with the right to education, social security, and protection from all forms of abuse. Hence, it could be concluded that democratic movements are important in constructing and reconstructing children’s understanding of their rights.

This paper discusses the issues of architecture illustration in the perspective way, either in the intuitive way originating from observations of nature or in the graphical, geometrical way as well as in the form of computer simulation. Examples of paintings taking up this subject from various periods have been given, with particular emphasis put on Renaissance as the period of heyday in the art of perspective. The status of the perspective in the modern days has been presented as well (its creators and receivers).
Praca niniejsza podejmuje zagadnienia obrazowania architektury w sposób perspektywiczny zarówno intuicyjny z obserwacji natury jak i wykreślny, geometryczny oraz w formie symulacji komputerowej. Przedstawiono przykłady dzieł malarskich z różnych epok podejmujących tę tematykę, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem renesansu jako okresu szczytowych osiągnięć sztuki perspektywy. Zaprezentowano również pozycję perspektywy w czasach współczesnych (jej kreatorów oraz odbiorców).

: The dual perspective model of agency and communion predicts that observers tend to interpret a target’s behavior more in terms of communion than agency, whereas actors interpret their behavior more in terms of agency. The present research for the first time tests this model in real interactions. Previously unacquainted participants had a short conversation and afterwards rated their own behavior (actor perspective) and their interaction partner’s behavior (observer perspective) in terms of agency(self-confident, assertive) and communion(trustworthy, empathic). Supporting the dual perspective model, observers rated the actor’s behavior higher on communion than on agency, and higher on communion than actors themselves did. Findings for actors were more complex: Actors rated their own behavior as more agentic than observers did. However, they also rated their behavior high on communion. We discuss implications for the dual perspective model as well as for (mis)understandings in social interactions.

Celem rozważań jest przedstawienie roli perspektywy od pierwszych prób sformułowania jej zasad, przez przykłady współczesne, po próbę odpowiedzi „co dalej?”. Zawarte w artykule treści oparto na analizach materiału ilustracyjnego i literatury przedmiotu. Treść artykułu podzielono na części odpowiadające kolejnym etapom – przeszłość, teraźniejszość, przyszłość perspektywy. Zwrócono uwagę na fakt, że perspektywa, mimo okresów odrzucenia i negacji, jest ciągle obecna w twórczości współczesnych, a zasada nieruchomego oka, będąca najczęściej krytykowana, umożliwiła zapis trójwymiarowej przestrzeni na płaszczyźnie, czego konsekwencją zdaje się być wirtualna, trójwymiarowa rzeczywistość.
The purpose of this article is to present the role of the perspective. It presents the fi rst attempts to formulate principles, contemporary examples of use of perspective and to ask “what next?” The contents contained in the text are based on an analysis of an illustrative material and literature. The article is divided into the parts corresponding to the subsequent stages: past, present and future perspective. The article points out to the fact that the perspective, despite the periods of rejection and denial, is still present in creativity of the contemporaries and the immovable eye principle, which is most oft en criticised, has enabled recording the three-dimensional space on a plane, the consequence seems to be a virtual, three-dimensional reality.

The purpose of the article is to expose the civilian experience of the Warsaw Uprising, the event traditionally connected with the heroic military myth of the Polish nation. The main source is a non-published diary of Zofia Charytańska, ordinary citizen of Warsaw, who records the everyday life in the German- and later Russian-occupied city areas. Her diaries show the civilian perspective on the 1944 military operation, indicating at the same time the anxiety and guilt of an uninvolved observer. This individual experience is submerged in the broader historical and ideological context. It further extends the narrative about Praga, the city district east of the Vistula river, which did not participate in the Uprising and was “liberated” by the Soviet Army.

The importance of parasitic zoonoses continues to increase on both local and global scales as interactions between people and animals become more frequent through global travel, intensification of agriculture, habitat devastation, and changes in world trade patterns. A current and real threat is the potential for a deliberate introduction of a zoonotic disease through the prospect of bioterrorism. Parasitic zoonoses represent significant problems in public health, animal agriculture and conservation, and the meat industry. There is an urgent need for integration of medical and veterinary services, continuous disease surveillance in both humans and animals, the teaching of zoonoses to medical doctors, and intensified research on zoonotic agents and diseases. The convergence of both public health and veterinary services currently represents a real challenge for managing zoonotic diseases.

This article is an introduction to the accompanying translation of selected fragments of Piero della Francesca’s (1412?-1492) treatise De Prospectiva Pingendi (mid-1470s). Although Piero was rediscovered as a mathematician in the nineteenth century (his dissertation on perspective was first published in 1899), it was only in the second half of the twentieth century that his theories were systematically examined. As a result, Piero is now regarded as one of the greatest mathematicians of his time, who contributed to the development of studies on ancient geometry. From the point of view of art history, his most important treatise is De Prospectiva Pingendi, but this is only one part of Piero’s theoretical achievements, which also include Trattato d’Abaco (mid-1460s) and Libellus de Quinque Corporibus Regularibus (first half of the 1480s). All three works grew out of the same tradition of applied mathematics taught in schools for merchants and craftsmen (scuole d’abaco). At the same time, however, Piero was innovative in the way he greatly emphasised geometry. De Prospectiva Pingendi is a dissertation, which on the one hand shows painting as a craft, but on the other, offers a theory based on geometry, which according to Piero, was essential to painters. For this reason, the treatise is a unique example of a meeting point between art and science, craft and theory. Although not published during the Renaissance, it was well known as evidenced by the fact that later dissertations on perspective (eg. by A. Dürer) adopt definitions and issues introduced by Piero. Furthermore, some of his processes herald solutions that came to be known from more advanced and later-developed geometry (G. del Monte, G. Monge).

Cognitive, social and affective perspective taking: interrelations in preschool childrenThe study on the interrelations of perspective taking ability in different domains is presented. The theoretical background of the study is the theory of Perspectival Understanding of Mind (PUM; Perner, 2000). According to this theory, the core ability that develops in the 5th year of life and that underlies many tasks that children start to accomplish in that time, is an ability to understand and coordinate different perspectives. 120 children aged 3;6–5;6 participated in the study. The measures used to assess the perspective taking ability were as follows: Flexible Item Selection Task (FIST; Jacques and Zelazo, 2001) in the cognitive domain, Test Wiedzy o Emocjach (TWE; The Test of Emotion Knowledge; Stępień, 2007) in the affective domain and the classical false belief tests in the social domain. The results obtained suggest that after the fourth birthday children start to accomplish different tasks that demand perspective taking ability. However, the interrelations of perspective taking in different domains are differentiated, and they change in the preschool period.

A growing body of research suggests that some time perspective orientations are more beneficial than others with regard to well-being. However, little is known about the factors affecting the development of these time perspectives. This gap in the research was addressed through two studies. Study 1 (N = 218; M = 29.8 years, SD = 11.45) identified ZTPI past positive (PP) as a beneficial time perspective and past negative (PN) as a detrimental time perspective. Structural equation modelling was then used in Study 2 (N = 443; M = 31.2 years, SD = 13.0) to develop two models of the associations between attachment orientation, basic psychological need satisfaction and PP and PN, respectively. While anxious and avoidant attachment orientation were associated with both PP and PN, the three basic psychological needs were differentially associated. The findings of these studies suggest the importance of early childhood care to the development of beneficial time perspectives.

Time Perspective is the process by which people categorize, archive and recover personal and social experiences through temporal frames (past, present, and future), influencing various aspects of human behaviour and cognition. It was proposed that it is related to selfesteem, though until now the main approach when exploring this relation was correlational. In this study, we explore a structural equation model of Time Perspective’s association with Self-Esteem. The sample was composed of 474 undergraduate students with a mean age of 19 years. The final model presented a high predictive power of Self-Esteem (R2 =.39, p < .001) and good fit indices (x2/df = 2.1, CFI = .94, GFI = .91, RMSEA = .05) with two temporal dimensions entering the model: Past Negative (βSelf-Esteem.PastNegative = -.52, p < .001) and Future-Negative (βSelf-Esteem.FutureNegative = -.17, p < .001) showing that negative affects of time dimensions (rather than positive ones) are more related to Self-Esteem. Results are discussed in relation to Self-Esteem and TP literature.

The importance of parasitic zoonoses continues to increase on both local and global scales as interactions between people and animals become more frequent through global travel, intensification of agriculture, habitat devastation, and changes in world trade patterns. A current and real threat is the potential for a deliberate introduction of a zoonotic disease through the prospect of bioterrorism. Parasitic zoonoses represent significant problems in public health, animal agriculture and conservation, and the meat industry. There is an urgent need for integration of medical and veterinary services, continuous disease surveillance in both humans and animals, the teaching of zoonoses to medical doctors, and intensified research on zoonotic agents and diseases. The convergence of both public health and veterinary services currently represents a real challenge for managing zoonotic diseases.

On the basis of the analyses carried out, it is possible to trace changes in the area of language use in the abovementioned scope, which have taken place from the 16th century to the present day.

Objective: This article innovates when we incorporate the statistical analysis to the method of Double-Perspective Data Envelopment Analysis (DP-DEA), with the objective of obtaining an estimate of greater accuracy and reliability according to the assumptions of the Best Unbiased Estimator (BUE).   Design / Research Method: Double Perspective Data Envelopment Analysis (DP-DEA) is an extension to Classical Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) for estimating efficiency, asset values, indicators, and other attributes from two perspectives, achieving a common result is the main objective. This article innovates in DEA methodology, in two aspects: 1. To demonstrate the ability of the DP-DEA to perform at intervals the estimation of values from a random sample; 2. Through the statistical analysis, making estimates of central tendency according to the assumptions of the Best Unbiased Estimator (BUE – Best Unbiased Estimator).   Conclusions / findings: The practical procedures performed step by step through DP-DEA according to the assumptions of the BUE, presented in its main findings and conclusions are: 1. Incorporation of statistical analysis to the DP-DEA method, which assumes assumptions of properties of the Best Estimator Non-biased; 2. Within the scope of the DEA, it presents an innovative capacity to make estimates from random samples, and; 3. At the end of the article, by simulation, able to validate modeling through the variation of property characteristics, demonstrating that the estimation of the corresponding values is consistent according to the market’s expectations.   Originality / value of the method: This article opens new avenues to be explored by the DEA community. Firstly, as a tool for valuing assets, according to the Comparative Market Data Method. In Brazil, DP-DEA has been approved by the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards for this purpose. Another innovation is to evaluate performance which results from common gain according to two perspectives, which interact in the process or procedure under analysis.

The article presents technological alliances as political activities, helping establish coalitions,co-opt supporters and eliminate rivals. Using the example of Microsoft’s and Google’s partner ecosystems, it discusses specific partnership techniques and their relevance for technology companies. The article offers a rich picture of developments of Microsoft Windows and Google Android platforms, combined with the steps taken by both companies to ensure support from partner firms. The effectiveness of financial, marketing and technological incentives as well as of deterrents depends on expected outcomes (such as: decreasing transaction costs, creating lock-ins, stimulating innovativeness or restricting development of competitive products) and technology life cycle stages. This study examined Taiwanese undergraduates’ trajectories of emotional well-being, positive affect, and negative affect over a 16-week period within one semester. The effect of their differences in gender and time perspective profiles on intraindividual variability of weekly affect and associations between time trends of affects and use of two emotional regulation strategies, i.e., reappraisal and suppression, were also investigated. Longitudinal data from 96 undergraduates were analyzed by hierarchical linear modeling (HLM). With time passing, the habitual use of reappraisal was related to the increase of emotional well-being and positive affect and related to the decline of negative affect. By contrast, habitually using suppression was related to an increase of negative affect over time. The main findings also indicated that individuals with balanced time perspective had higher levels of emotional well-being compared to those without balanced time perspective at the baseline of the study. Gender and time perspective profiles were also demonstrated as moderators in the relationship between changes in using emotional regulation strategies on emotional well-being.

W jednym z rozdziałów książki opisany jest proces przygotowania wykresu perspektywicznego dla wprowadzenia kompozycji malarskiej na sklepienia kolebkowe i kopuły, które autor nazywa powierzchniami krzywymi. Zarówno tekst jak i rysunki w tym rozdziale budzą wątpliwości, którymi autorka chciała podzielić się z Czytelnikami. W artykule omówione zostały tylko zagadnienia związane z konstruowaniem perspektyw na sklepieniach kolebkowych.

The study focus on the analysis of the developing deviant culture of Tattooing and Piercing. Most of the people in the modern world involve in tattooing and piercing as considering it as a fashion. But in Asian countries social historical context of being tattooed is different. Especially in Tamil tradition tattooing and piercing has its limitation bound to rituals. Identifying the social perspective of this behavior is essential for the future generation. Qualitative and quantitative methods have been used to analyzed the present situation of the social acceptance and perception of tattoos and piercing. Data collected through primary and secondary data collection methods. Questionnaire survey done among hundred elderly people from the study area. Structured and unstructured interviews done with both tattooed and non-tattooed persons and respondents. According to the social recognition of the phenomenon, the society restrict the tattoo acceptance as fashion. The piercing and tattooing considered to be a undesirable activity of culture. Though earlier the piercing culture was accepted for the Hindu rituals, they were only limited with ears and nose piercing. Tamils consider the fashionable youth behavior of tattooing and piercing as social deviant activity when it has gone beyond the border of rituals and norms. The study provide insight into topic for further research to social perspective affecting tattoo acceptance and the role of fashion. This study limited to a small part of an urban area and a group of Tamil people. Thus, the results cannot be generalized to a vast area.

Anthropology is a field broadly understood as a description of ubiquitous human existence as far as homo sapiens emerged from community of human being until present-day society. Anthropology provides description of mechanics of integration of societies or how they distance themselves from certain group and individuals. It describes permanence and changes of culture order. According to Mary Douglas‘s anthropological resolving I analyse – in perspective of anthropology – evolution of social attitudes in to people with disabilities. Basical questions of my article are – „who, why, how, what” normal people thinks about persons wiht disfunctions. I present specific conceptualisation of disability’s causes, ways of a treatment people with features of otherness in traditinal era and in postmodernism. I say – they give us something inducing to thinking about another face of humanity.

The aim of the article is to present counselling as a place of learning for those who seek advice. The analysis of particular concepts of learning of adults presented in Mieczysław Malewski’s book From teaching to learning. The paradigmatic change in andragogics facilitates the description of various ways of learning, which may be inspired by finding yourself in a counselling situation. It is also used to develop the thesis. On the other hand, the adoption of the perspective of biographical learning, by Peter Alheit, is primarily used to reveal the sense and meaning of inner (trans)formation which is distinctive for those who benefit from the assistance of counsellors.
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie poradnictwa jako miejsca uczenia się osób zasięgających porady. Analiza poszczególnych koncepcji uczenia się ludzi dorosłych wyłożona w książce Mieczysława Malewskiego Od nauczania do uczenia się. O paradygmatycznej zmianie w andragogice umożliwia opis różnych rodzajów uczenia się, które mogą zostać zainspirowane znalezieniem się w sytuacji poradniczej i służy rozwinięciu tej tezy. Natomiast przyjęcie perspektywy biograficznego uczenia się autorstwa Petera Alheita przede wszystkim jest wykorzystane do jako ujawnienia sensu i znaczenia (trans)formacji wewnętrznej, jaka jest udziałem korzystających z pomocy doradców

The aim of the study was to examine the relationships of Level -1/Level -2 visual perspective -taking (VPT -1/VPT -2) with theory of mind (ToM) and executive function (EF). Seventy -six adults aged 18 to 48 years participated in the study. To compare the relationships of the two levels of perspective -taking with the aforementioned abilities, the same stimuli were used in both Level -1 and Level -2 trials of the VPT task. ToM abilities were evaluated with the Strange Story task, and EF using the TMT and WCST tests. It was found that controlling for age -related differences, VPT -1 was not associated with either ToM or such components of EF as executive control and set -shifting. VPT -2 was positively related to ToM, but it was not related to EF. The relationship between VPT -2 and ToM was specific, not mediated by domain -general processing capabilities. The obtained results provide further evidence to support the view that distinct mechanisms underlie Level -1 and Level -2 perspective -taking.

We can now admit without theoretical constraint that speech acts, being the subject of linguistic studies, are profoundly marked by culture, as proved by many works inspired by the notion of stereotype, politeness, etc., ranging from the sentence pattern to the discursive sequential scale or from verbal materials to non-verbal materials. In doing so, contrastive linguistics opens the possibility of enlightening the similarities and differences in the realization of the speech acts of the sender with different cultural affiliations. In the field of foreign language teaching, in particular, the contrastive perspective has expanded possible models of analysis that allow better understanding of functions of compared languages and the language writing behaviors of speakers from different cultures. This work proposes an inventory of the works relating to the contrastive rhetoric, which have mainly dealt with the writings of the learners of foreign language and the native writers with the aim of highlighting the differences in the “style, argumentation and organisation” (Purves, 1986) that characterize texts produced by the writers of different discursive cultures. We set these three angles as the main research issues of contrastive rhetoric whose aim is to differentiate and to bring into consistency various discursive elements and phenomena described and analyzed so far. We consider that this approach is all the more crucial in order to take account of the results of research entitled in various ways, each of which has its own rhetorical study subjects: for example, connectors; reasoning method, the style, the writing convention, the textual organization, the question of cohesion/coherence, the argumentative structure, etc.
On arrive sans contrainte particulière aujourd’hui à admettre que les actes langagiers étant des objets de traitement de la linguistique sont profondément marqués par le culturel, comme en témoignent également nombre de travaux s’inspirant de la notion du stéréotype, de la politesse, etc., allant de l’échelle phrastique à l’échelle séquentielle discursive ou encore des matières verbales aux matières non verbales. Ce faisant, la linguistique contrastive ouvre la possibilité d’éclairer les similitudes et les différences dans la réalisation des actes de langage des sujets actants ayant des appartenances culturelles diverses.Dans le domaine de l’enseignement des langues étrangères, en particulier, la perspective contrastive a élargi des modèles possibles d’analyses qui permettent mieux d’appréhender les fonctionnements des langues comparées et les comportements langagiers des locuteurs ayant des langues maternelles différentes.Ce travail propose un état des lieux des travaux relatifs à la rhétorique contrastive qui ont traité essentiellement des écrits des scripteurs apprenants de langue étrangère et des scripteurs natifs ayant pour but de mettre en lumière des écarts de ‘style, argumentation et organisation’ (Purves, 1986) qui servent à caractériser des textes provenant des scripteurs des cultures discursives différentes.Nous posons ces trois angles comme les axes constituants des travaux menés sous l’étiquette large de la rhétorique contrastive afin de différencier et mettre en cohérence de divers éléments et phénomènes discursifs décrits et analysés auparavant. Nous considérons que cette démarche est d’autant plus cruciale pour tenir compte des résultats issus des recherches intitulées à multiples manières qui ont chacune leurs propres objets d’étude rhétorique : par exemple, les connecteurs, le procédé de raisonnement déductif/inductif, le style, la convention d’écriture, l’organisation textuelle, la question de la cohésion/cohérence, la structure argumentative, etc.
Powszechnie się przyjmuje, że akty mowy, będące przedmiotem badań językoznawczych, są wyraźnie nacechowane kulturowo, o czym świadczy szereg prac inspirowanych pojęciem stereotypu, grzeczności itp., a także poświęconych różnorodnym zagadnieniom: od wzoru zdania do dyskursywnej skali sekwencyjnej lub od materiałów werbalnych po materiały niewerbalne. W ten sposób językoznawstwo kontrastywne otwiera możliwość wyjaśnienia podobieństw i różnic w realizacji aktów mowy dokonywanych przez nadawców wywodzących się z różnych kultur.W dziedzinie nauczania języków obcych kontrastywna perspektywa badawcza umożliwiła rozszerzenie modeli analizy, które dzięki temu pozwalają lepiej zrozumieć porównywane języki i pisemne zachowania językowe nadawców wywodzących się z różnych kultur.Niniejszy artykuł proponuje klasyfikację dzieł odnoszących się do retoryki kontrastywnej, które dotyczą głównie tekstów pisanych osób uczących się języka obcego oraz rodzimych pisarzy, w celu podkreślenia różnic pomiędzy „stylem, argumentacją i organizacją” (Purves, 1986), charakteryzujących teksty pisane przez autorów różnych kultur. Te trzy aspekty uznajemy za główne zagadnienia badawcze retoryki kontrastywnej, mającej na celu uporządkowanie różnych elementów i zjawisk dyskursywnych dotychczas opisywanych i analizowanych. Uważamy, że takie podejście pozwoli uwzględnić wyniki badań rozmaicie zatytułowanych i obierających sobie za przedmiot badawczy różne zjawiska retoryczne, jak np.: łączniki, metody rozumowania, organizacja tekstowa, struktura argumentacyjna, styl, konwencja wypowiedzi, spójność tekstu (kohezja/koherencja) itp.

Am Beispiel scheinbar ‚typischer‘ polnischer Sprichwörter wird in dem vorliegenden Beitrag gezeigt, dass das ‚Typische‘ einer Kultur als Ergebnis einer diskursiven, mitunter strittigen oder auch spöttischen Auseinandersetzung darüber aufzufassen ist. Die Zuschreibung von Identität resultiert danach aus der permanenten Auseinandersetzung einer Kultur darüber, was aus einer eigenen oder fremden Perspektive als kulturell unverwechselbar angesehen wird.
Na przykładzie ‚typowo‘ polskich przysłów podjęto w niniejszym artykule próbę zdefiniowania ‚typowości‘ danej kultury jako wyniku dyskursywnej, niekiedy spornej a nawet szyderczej polemiki. Przypisanie tożsamości wynika więc z ciągłego sporu o to, co z własnej lub obcej perspektywy określić można jako kulturowo immanentne, a przez to jedyne w swoim rodzaju.
Using the example of seemingly ‚typical‘ Polish proverbs, it will be shown that what is ‚typical‘ within and of a culture can be understood as the outcome of a discursive quarrel, which is controversial or even taunting at times. Accordingly, the adscription of identity stems from an ongoing dispute about what is seen as culturally distinctive from an emic and etic perspective.

The article is an attempt to read a book by Michał Książek from a postcolonial perspective. It discusses such issues as: the relationship of domination and subordination of the colonizer to the colonized, the phenomenon of transferring traces of Yakut culture to a place where it can safely survive, the use of the map as a tool which gives the Yakutians control over territories that historically belong to them. The article also comments on the accusation that its author carries out “metaphorical colonization.”
Данная статья представляет собой попытку прочесть работу Михала Ксёнжекa Jakuck. Słownik miejsca с постколониальной точки зрения. В ней обсуждаются такие вопросы, как: отношение господства и подчинения колонизатора колонизируемым, феномен переноса следов якутской культуры в место, где она может безопасно сохраниться, использование карты как инструмента, с помощью которого Ксёнзек возвращает якутам исторически принадлежащие им территории. В статье также комментируется обвинение в том, что Ксёнзек осуществляет „метафорическую колонизацию”.
Artykuł jest próbą odczytania utwór Michała Książa pt. Jakuck. Słownik miejsca z perspektywy postkolonialnej. Zostają tu omówione takie kwestie jak: relacja dominacji i podporzadkowania kolonizatora wobec skolonizowanego, zjawisko przenoszenia śladów kultury jakuckiej do miejsca, gdzie może bezpiecznie przetrwać, użycie mapy jako narzędzia, za pomocą którego Książek oddaje Jakutom pod władanie terytoria historycznie im przynależne. W artykule znajdują się też komentarz wobec zarzutu o dokonywanie przez Książka „metaforycznej kolonizacji”.

This article examines the narrative point of view in two autobiographical texts, pointing out the diverse effects the narratives achieve by means of different focalization strategies. After a short explication of the split between the narrator and protagonist in life stories, I look at focalization techniques in Günter Grass’s Peeling the Onion (2006), where the perception of the present self continuously interferes in the depiction of the past. The superior knowledge available to the narrator at the time of narration leads to an interpretation of the depicted events that the experiencing self could not provide. I argue that although the book calls attention to the constructive nature of memory and narrative that necessarily affects retrospective accounts of the past, it also states its preference for the lens of the present by employing focalization through the narrating I. I subsequently contrast Grass’s text and its narrative strategies with Mary Karr’s childhood memoir The Liars’ Club (1995) and demonstrate how this narrative attains its realistic effect by engaging the child protagonist as the predominant focalizer. By shifting focalization between the narrating I and the experiencing I, involving either the suspension or application of the narrator’s current knowledge, Karr manipulates readers’ engagement with the narrative, such as their empathy and moral judgement. Furthermore, the text communicates a sense of identity and continuity between the experiencer and the teller, which stands in sharp contrast to the emphasis Grass’s narrative puts on the distance between these two positions. Finally, I briefly address the challenges presented by recent conceptions of identity construction to the distinction between the narrating I and the experiencing I, suggesting that these narratological concepts retain their relevance to discussions of autobiographical texts as literary works rather than stages of self-creation.

According to the importance of education in the life of each person and that each school or university student faces career decision-making during education and also considering the importance of time perspective in decision-making self-efficacy and academic achievement, the present research was done to examine the relationship between time perspective and career decision self-efficacy and its influence on the academic achievement in students of Isfahan University. This study was a descriptive-correlative one and the research population consisted of students of Isfahan University. A sample of 184 subjects was selected using cluster sampling method. To collect data, participants completed Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI) and Taylor and Betz Career Decision-making Self-efficacy Inventory. Academic Achievement was measured through previous semester GPA. The data were analyzed using SPSS software, version 18, by results of correlation and regression analysis. The results indicated that the dimensions of time perspective have significant relationships with self-efficacy and career decision-making and predict them. In addition, there was not a significant relationship between career decision-making self-efficacy and academic achievement.

The present paper explores how political thinking in Poland changed after the election campaigns (general and presidential) of 2015. Its main goal is to determine what the current developments mean for the future of democracy in Poland. Will Poland face a new wave of autocratization – similar to Pilsudski’s one? The paper is based on empirical research conducted during the last presidential and general elections in Poland. An e-survey covering 10,000 respondents was conducted, out of whom over 4,000 left their data for further analysis. The main aim of the study was to find a connection between patterns of political thinking and electoral behavior, demonstrating a link between one’s set of political values and one’s voting decisions. The ruling party in Poland openly refers to esthetics and rhetoric of an authoritarian regime introduced by Pilsudski. Its election slogan: “A good change” has been treated as reference to the interwar concept of “sanacja” driven from the Latin term “sanatio” which means to cleanse or to heal. The main goal of the Sanacja political group was to amend the then parliamentary democracy, which they believed was corrupt and inefficient. The authors of the paper try to present recent patterns and changes in the electorate. In its summary, the paper includes some predictions for the future of the Polish democracy, based on empirical data and observed actions of the ruling party.

Language heterogeneity in the classroom is quite a common phenomenon. For experts, it is a challenge; for teachers and parents, it is most often a problem. This challenge or problem will be discussed on the basis of the theory of multilingual education and migration pedagogy. The aim of this contribution is to present an app that can be regarded as a universal tool for fostering multilingualism and explaining it from the viewpoint of parents, since they are an important but often ignored aspect of multilingual education. The research analysis will illustrate and interpret the research results of a qualitative study in which parents from different countries participated. It is not country specific, but it highlights the key aspects that can foster multilingual education and that at least partly match with the underlying theory.

W artykule autorka podejmuje problematykę połączenia perspektywy queer z analizą intersekcjonalną poprzez podkreślenie konieczności włączenia do studiów nad seksualnością wymiaru społeczno-ekonomicznego. W dwóch pierwszych częściach artykułu prezentuje krytyczne odczytania obydwu tych perspektyw odwołując się między innymi do analiz Stevena Seidmana i Rosemary Hennessy. W części trzeciej włącza pojęcie metronormatywności i przedstawia wyniki badań sytuacji społecznej lesbijek żyjących na terenach wiejskich w Polsce (na podstawie badań w ramach projektu „Niewidoczne (dla) społeczności”).
The author underlines the necessity of connecting queer perspectives with intersectional analysis through bringing the social-economic dimension into sexuality studies. In the first two sections entitled, Queer perspective and intersectionality and Class and sexuality, respectively she presents critical readings of both perspectives drawing on the analyses from Steven Seidman and Rosemary Hennessy, among others. In the third section she includes a discussion of the concept of metronormativity and presents the results of research on the social situation of lesbians living in rural areas of Poland (on the basis of a study done within the project „Invisible (to) societies”).
