Opis:: In this paper we give a version of the theorem on local integral invariants of systems of ordinary differential equations. We give, as an immediate conclusion of this theorem, a condition which guarantees existence of an invariant measure of local dynamical systems. Results of this type lead to the Liouville equation and have been frequently proved under various assumptions. Our method of the proof is simpler and more direct.

Opis:: We generalize certain well known orthogonal decompositions of model spaces and obtain similar decompositions for the wider class of shifted model spaces, allowing us to establish conditions for near invariance of the latter with respect to certain operators which include, as a particular case, the backward shift S*. Opis:: If T is a bounded operator on a separable complex Hilbert space ℋ, an invariant subspace ℳ for T is stable provided that whenever ${T_n}$ is a sequence of operators such that $‖T_n - T‖ → 0$, there is a sequence of subspaces ${ℳ_n}$, with $ℳ_n$ in $Lat T_n$ for all n, such that $P_{ℳ_n} → P_{ℳ}$ in the strong operator topology. If the projections converge in norm, ℳ is called a norm stable invariant subspace. This paper characterizes the stable invariant subspaces of the unilateral shift of finite multiplicity and normal operators. It also shows that in these cases the stable invariant subspaces are the strong closure of the norm stable invariant subspaces.

Opis:: A multiplicative semigroup of idempotent operators is called an operator band. We prove that for each K>1 there exists an irreducible operator band on the Hilbert space $l^2$ which is norm-bounded by K. This implies that there exists an irreducible operator band on a Banach space such that each member has operator norm equal to 1. Given a positive integer r, we introduce a notion of weak r-transitivity of a set of bounded operators on a Banach space. We construct an operator band on $l^2$ that is weakly r-transitive and is not weakly (r+1)-transitive. We also study operator bands S satisfying a polynomial identity p(A, B) = 0 for all non-zero A,B ∈ S, where p is a given polynomial in two non-commuting variables. It turns out that the polynomial $p(A, B) = (A B - B A)^2$ has a special role in these considerations.

Opis:: Properties of strictly singular operators have recently become of topical interest because the work of Gowers and Maurey in [GM1] and [GM2] gives (among many other brilliant and surprising results, such as those in [G1] and [G2]) Banach spaces on which every continuous operator is of form λ I + S, where S is strictly singular. So if strictly singular operators had invariant subspaces, such spaces would have the property that all operators on them had invariant subspaces. However, in this paper we exhibit examples of strictly singular operators without nontrivial closed invariant subspaces. So, though it may be true that operators on the spaces of Gowers and Maurey have invariant subspaces, yet this cannot be because of a general result about strictly singular operators. The general assertion about strictly singular operators is false.

Opis:: Asymptotic properties of various semidynamical systems can be examined by means of continuous subadditive processes. To investigate such processes we consider different types of exponents: characteristic, central, singular and global exponents and we study their properties. We derive formulae for central and singular exponents and show that they provide upper bounds for characteristic exponents. The concept of conjugate processes introduced in this paper allows us to find lower bounds for characteristic exponents. We also give applications to continuous cocycles.

Opis:: A hypersubstitution of a fixed type τ maps n-ary operation symbols of the type to n-ary terms of the type. Such a mapping induces a unique mapping defined on the set of all terms of type t. The kernel of this induced mapping is called the kernel of the hypersubstitution, and it is a fully invariant congruence relation on the (absolutely free) term algebra $F_{τ}(X)$ of the considered type ([2]). If V is a variety of type τ, we consider the composition of the natural homomorphism with the mapping induced by a hypersubstitution. The kernel of this mapping is called the semantical kernel of the hypersubstitution with respect to the given variety. If the pair (s,t) of terms belongs to the semantical kernel of a hypersubstitution, then this hypersubstitution equalizes s and t with respect to the variety. Generalizing the concept of a unifier, we define a semantical hyperunifier for a pair of terms with respect to a variety. The problem of finding a semantical hyperunifier with respect to a given variety for any two terms is then called the semantical hyperunification problem.
We prove that the semantical kernel of a hypersubstitution is a fully invariant congruence relation on the absolutely free algebra of the given type. Using this kernel, we define three relations between sets of hypersubstitutions and sets of varieties and introduce the Galois correspondences induced by these relations. Then we apply these general concepts to varieties of semigroups.

Opis:: In this paper, we present a simple algorithm for the reduction of a given bivariate polynomial matrix to a pencil form which is encountered in Fornasini-Marchesini’s type of singular systems. It is shown that the resulting matrix pencil is related to the original polynomial matrix by the transformation of zero coprime equivalence. The exact form of both the matrix pencil and the transformation connecting it to the original matrix are established.

Opis:: In a 1987 paper, Cambanis, Hardin and Weron defined doubly stationary stable processes as those stable processes which have a spectral representation which is itself stationary, and they gave an example of a stationary symmetric stable process which they claimed was not doubly stationary. Here we show that their process actually had a moving average representation, and hence was doubly stationary. We also characterize doubly stationary processes in terms of measure-preserving regular set isomorphisms and the existence of σ-finite invariant measures. One consequence of the characterization is that all harmonizable symmetric stable processes are doubly stationary. Another consequence is that there exist stationary symmetric stable processes which are not doubly stationary.

Opis:: In this paper, we refer to two definitions of fading memory property, which were published in the literature, for discrete-time circuits and systems. One of these definitions relates to systems working with signals (sequences) defined for both the positive and negative integers, expanding from minus infinity to plus infinity. On the other hand, the second one refers to systems processing sequences defined only for nonnegative integers, that is starting at the discrete-time point equal to zero and expanding to plus infinity. We show here that the second definition follows from the first one. That is they are not independent. Moreover, we also show that if an operator describing a system possesses a fading memory according to the second definition, then its associated operator has this property, too, but in accordance with the first definition.

The moduli space of our monodromy representations can be realized by certain affine cubic surface. Opis:: We present generalized expressions to calculate the orbital angular momentum for invariant beams using scalars potentials. The solutions can be separated into transversal electric TE, transversal magnetic TM and transversal electromagnetic TE/TM polarization modes. We show that the superposition of non-paraxial vectorial beams with axial symmetry can provide a well-defined orbital angular momentum and that the modes superposition affects the angular momentum flux density. The results are illustrated and analyzed for Bessel beams.

Opis:: The paper discusses issues connected with translation equivalence. The author reviews existing concepts of translation equivalence while paying particular attention to those falling within the paradigm of anthropocentric translation studies. The conducted research showed that this concept has evolved from being a static category to becoming a dynamic category. Translation invariants which are perceived as tertium comparationis in translation serve here as the focus of attention. Those include invariability of thematic reference and adequacy of communicative aim of translation. The ontological paradox understood as complementary coexistence of identity and difference is also discussed here. Another issue presents subjectivity perceived as immanent quality of cognitive and task-related activity of participants of translation communication which seems to challenge the objectivity of category of equivalence.

The article presents various approaches to the problem of variance in the context of Polish and French phraseology. As it follows from previously conducted research, the phenomenon of phraseological variance may encompass a wide or narrow spectrum of morphosyntactic and/or semantic changeability of fixed combinations of words. Formal differences between variants or changes in the components should not, however, interfere with the identification of a set phrase in its various forms. Therefore, the extent of possible modifications in the signifier and their impact on the semantic identity of a unit becomes a vital issue. Thorough analyses conducted by Polish and French linguists are an attempt to address the problems and difficulties connected with the description of phraseological variants which have not been completely solved. The author of the present article discusses the types of phraseological variance on the basis of examples excerpted from contemporary general and specialized dictionaries; these types include morphosyntactic and lexical variances as well as the variance in length. There are synonymic, metonymic and hypernymic-hyponymic relations between the components of phraseological variants. In the study of the polymorphism of fixed units, the concept of invariant is also of importance.

Opis:: The starting point for the discussion is the statement that fantasy is born in the language. Among the linguistic measures that create the ‘crack’ in reality indefinite pronouns can be found. They make it possible to form the reference ambiguity/inaccuracy. Our aim is to describe linguistic mechanisms which conceal the perpetrator of action. This is why reflection on the structure indefinite pronoun + V and its Polish equivalents in the corpus of fantasy texts is offered. The purpose of the analysis is not to systematically describe the use of this structure. It is crucial to present the most important contexts in which the structure is present. The choice of corpus is a particularly important matter with regard to the obtained results. We would like to show that the structure indefinite pronoun on + V is one of the invariants of fantasy literature.

Opis:: Positively invariant sets play an important role in the theory and applications of dynamical systems. The stability in Lyapunov sense of equilibrium x = 0 is equivalent to the existence of the ellipsoidal positively invariant sets. The constraints on the state and control vectors of dynamical systems can be formulated as polyhedral positively invariant sets in practical engineering problems. Numerical checking method of positive invariance of polyhedral sets is addressed in this paper. The validation of the positively invariant sets can be done by solving LPs which can be easily implemented numerically. The effectiveness of the proposed checking method is illustrated by examples. Compared with the now existing algebraic methods, numerical checking method is attractive and, importantly, easy to be implemented.

Opis:: In this paper, the stabilization problem of a autonomous linear time invariant fractional order (LTI-FO) switched system with different derivative order in subsystems is outlined. First, necessary and sufficient condition for stability of an LTI-FO switched system with different derivative order in subsystems based on the convex analysis and linear matrix inequality (LMI) for two subsystems is presented and proved. Also, sufficient condition for stability of an LTI-FO switched system with different derivative order in subsystems for more than two subsystems is proved. Then a sliding sector is designed for each subsystem of the LTI-FO switched system. Finally, a switching control law is designed to switch the LTI-FO switched system among subsystems to ensure the decrease of the norm of the switched system. Simulation results are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed variable structure controller.

Opis:: In this paper we propose a novel method for invariant image reconstruction with the properly selected degree of symmetry. We make use of Zernike radial moments to represent an image due to their invariance properties to isometry transformations and the ability to uniquely represent the salient features of the image. The regularized ridge regression estimation strategy under symmetry constraints for estimating Zernike moments is proposed. This extended regularization problem allows us to enforces the bilateral symmetry in the reconstructed object. This is achieved by the proper choice of two regularization parameters controlling the level of reconstruction accuracy and the acceptable degree of symmetry. As a byproduct of our studies we propose an algorithm for estimating an angle of the symmetry axis which in turn is used to determine the possible asymmetry present in the image. The proposed image recovery under the symmetry constraints model is tested in a number of experiments involving image reconstruction and symmetry estimation.

Opis:: In this paper, a robust fault-tolerant control strategy for constrained multisensor linear systems, subject to sensor faults and in the presence of bounded state and output disturbances, is proposed. The scheme verifies that, for each sensors-estimator combination, suitable residual variables lie inside pre-computed sets and selects a more appropriate combination based on a chosen criterion. An active fault tolerant output feedback controller yields an MPC-based control law and, by means of the notion of a "tube" of trajectories, we ensure robust closed-loop exponential stability and good performance in the fault-free case and under the occurrence of abrupt sensor faults.

Opis:: Introducing variation in the training dataset through data augmentation has been a popular technique to make Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) spatially invariant but leads to increased dataset volume and computation cost. Instead of data augmentation, augmentation of feature maps is proposed to introduce variations in the features extracted by a CNN. To achieve this, a rotation transformer layer called Rotation Invariance Transformer (RiT) is developed, which applies rotation transformation to augment CNN features. The RiT layer can be used to augment output features from any convolution layer within a CNN. However, its maximum effectiveness is shown when placed at the output end of final convolution layer. We test RiT in the application of scale-invariance where we attempt to classify scaled images from benchmark datasets. Our results show promising improvements in the networks ability to be scale invariant whilst keeping the model computation cost low.

Opis:: The AutoGraphiX 2 system is used to compare the index of a connected graph G with a number of other graph theoretical invariants, i.e., chromatic number, maximum, minimum and average degree, diameter, radius, average distance, independence and domination numbers. In each case, best possible lower and upper bounds, in terms of the order of G, are sought for sums, differences, ratios and products of the index and another invariant. There are 72 cases altogether: in 7 cases known results were reproduced, in 32 cases immediate results were obtained and automatically proved by the system, conjectures were obtained in 27 cases, of which 12 were proved (in 3 theorems and 9 propositions), 9 remain open and 6 were refuted. No results could be derived in 7 cases.

Opis:: W artykule przeprowadzono rozróżnienie głównych typów wariantowośći w terminologii na podstawie formalnego, semantycznego i funkcjonalnego inwariantu. Sprecyzowane zostało pojęcie inwariantu onomasiologicznego, na podstawie którego rozróżnione są warianty nominatywne i nominatywno-wariacyjne paradygmaty terminologiczne w hiszpańskiej terminologii gospodarki wodnej. Przeanalizowane zostało wzajemne powiązanie różnych rodzajów terminologicznej wariantowośći i ich rola w uzupełnieniu wariantów nominatywnych i kształtowania paradygmatów wariantów nominatywnych.
Main types of variation in terminology, which arise from formal, semantic and functional invariants, are distinguished in the article. The notion of onomasyological invariant is determined, on the base of which the nominal variants and nominatively- variant terminological paradigms in the Spanish water management terminology are defined. The interconnection between different types of terminological variation, their role in nominative variants enriching and nominative variants paradigm forming are analyzed.
В статье осуществлено разграничение основных типов вариантности в терминологии, исходя из формального, семантического и функционального инвариантов. Уточнено понятие ономасиологического инварианта, на базе которого выделяются номинативные варианты и номинативно-вариантные терминопарадигмы в испанской водохозяйственной терминологии. Проанализирована взаимосвязь разных типов терминологической вариантности и их роль в пополнении номинативных вариантов и формировании парадигм номинативных вариантов.

Opis:: This paper investigates state estimation of linear time-invariant systems where the sensors and controllers are geographically separated and connected over limited capacity, additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) communication channels. Such channels are viewed as dropout (erasure) channels. In particular, we consider the case with limited data rates, present a necessary and sufficient condition on the data rate for mean square observability over an AWGN channel. The system is mean square observable if the data rate of the channel is larger than the lower bound given. It is shown in our results that there exist the inherent tradeoffs among the limited data rate, dropout probability, and observability. An illustrative example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Opis:: Achieving a reliable fault diagnosis for gears under variable operating conditions is a pressing need of industries to ensure productivity by averting unwanted breakdowns. In the present work, a hybrid approach is proposed by integrating Hu invariant moments and an artificial neural network for explicit extraction and classification of gear faults using time-frequency transforms. The Zhao-Atlas-Marks transform is used to convert the raw vibrations signals from the gears into time-frequency distributions. The proposed method is applied to a single-stage spur gearbox with faults created using electric discharge machining in laboratory conditions. The results show the effectiveness of the proposed methodology in classifying the faults in gears with high accuracy.

Opis:: We discuss basic notions of the ergodic theory approach to chaos. Based on simple examples we show some characteristic features of ergodic and mixing behaviour. Then we investigate an infinite dimensional model (delay differential equation) of erythropoiesis (red blood cell production process) formulated by Lasota. We show its computational analysis on the previously presented theory and examples. Our calculations suggest that the infinite dimensional model considered possesses an attractor of a nonsimple structure, supporting an invariant mixing measure. This observation verifies Lasota's conjecture concerning nontrivial ergodic properties of the model.

Opis:: The necessity to reduce CO2 emission in the environment has encouraged people to search for solutions for its safe capture and storage. Known methods for carbon dioxide mineral sequestration are based primarily on the use of its binding reaction with metal oxides, mainly earth metals. Increasingly important, due to the availability and price, are processes based on the suspension of various wastes such as fly ash, cement dust or furnace slag. Due to the complexity of the mineral sequestration of CO2 in water-waste suspensions, an important issue is to determine the reaction mechanisms. This applies mainly to the initial period of the transformation phase of mineral wastes, and consequently with the occurrence of a number of transition states of ionic equilibria. The mechanisms and reaction rates in the various stages of the process of CO2 mineral sequestration in heterogeneous systems containing selected wastes are defined herein. This paper presents a method of modeling kinetics of this type of process, developed on the basis of the results of the absorption of CO2 thanks to the aqueous suspension of fly ash and cement dust. This allowed for the transfer of obtained experimental results into the mathematical formula, using the invariant function method, used to describe the processes.

Opis:: The article deals with the problem of civilizational identity in the light of the experience of socio-cultural “borderland”. The author defines identity as a state of community or personality that has acquired the meaning of existence and, thus, integrity. Under the condition of identity differ in the image of identity and the identificational pivot-invariant. The image of identity is a spiritual reality, the basis of the “spiritual body” of civilization, reflecting its ideas about itself, its place in history. Identifying a core-invariant is the reality of the connection of the spiritual and the material “body” of civilization. In its spiritual aspect it is either the same as (fully or partially) with the image of civilization, or is in conflict (to varying degrees). The key characteristic of civilizations of the “borderline” type-the dominant of diversitydetermined the specificity of their identification sphere: relatively frequent (in comparison with the great “classical” civilizations of the East and the West) change of identity images while maintaining the same identification invariant – the process of interaction of diverse traditions. According to the author, the experience of civilizational “borderland” is especially valuable in modern conditions. The main conclusions that can be drawn from the study of this experience. First, it is possible to achieve the unity of the civilizational system in the conditions of the dominant diversity. Secondly, it is possible to preserve the identificational core-invariant with a relatively frequent (again, in comparison with the great “classical” civilizations of the East and the West) change in the images of the identity of civilizations of the “border” type.

Opis:: The purpose of this publication is to detect the linguistic functions in creating multi-suprasegmental declarative utterances. In the context of the parenthesis there is an interpositional localization. It consists of at least three units: 1) supra initial of the uncompleted content, 2) parenthesis, 3) supra terminal of the completed content. The distribution of these units is normative. The supreme phoneme of a terminal unit as a phonological invariant expresses the declarative content of the entire utterance. It is characterized by a sloping course, low tone, lengthening of quantity and the decrease in the intensity level. Whereas a parenthetical unit constitutes the supplement of the declarative content. It shows a regular course, low tone, standardization of quantity and the level of intensity. The terminal parenthesis unit combines either syntax or theme-semantic structure. A supreme accent of a unit in progress is an expression of the individual subject. For this reason, the unit of the content in progress is of a variant character. Whereas the supreme accent of a unit of the completed content, is the rheme phrase. The intonation structure of a multi-suprasegmental declarative utterance with a parenthesis is created by a supreme accent of a terminal unit, representing the phoneme-specific functions, and parenthesis.
Celem niniejszej publikacji jest wykrycie funkcji lingwistycznej parentezy w tworzeniu wielosuprematycznych wypowiedzeń oznajmujących. W ich kontekście parenteza ma lokalizację interpozycyjną. W skład wypowiedzi wchodzą co najmniej trzy jednostki: 1) suprem inicjalny o treści niezakończonej, 2) parenteza, 3) suprem terminalny o treści zakończonej. Dystrybucja tych jednostek ma charakter normatywny. Fonem suprematyczny jednostki terminalnej jako fonologiczny inwariant wyraża treści oznajmujące całego wypowiedzenia. Cechuje go przebieg opadający, ton niski, wzdłużenie iloczasu oraz spadek poziomu intensywności. Natomiast jednostka parentetycznastanowi uzupełnienie treści oznajmujących. Wykazuje: przebieg równy, ton niski, ujednolicenie iloczasu oraz poziomu intensywności. Parentezę z jednostką terminalną łączy zarówno składnia, jak i struktura tematyczno-rematyczna. Akcent suprematyczny jednostki niezakończonej jest wyrażeniem tematu. Z tego też powodu jednostka o treści niezakończonej ma charakter wariantowy. Natomiast akcent suprematyczny jednostki o treści zakończonej, terminalnej jest wyrażeniem rematu. Strukturę intonacyjną wielosuprematycznego wypowiedzenia oznajmującego z parentezątworzy akcent suprematyczny jednostki terminalnej, występujący w funkcji swoistego fonemu oraz parenteza.

Opis:: The group SU(1,d) acts naturally on the Hilbert space $L²(B dμ_α) (α > -1)$, where B is the unit ball of $ℂ^d$ and $dμ_α$ the weighted measure $(1-|z|²)^α dm(z)$. It is proved that the irreducible decomposition of the space has finitely many discrete parts and a continuous part. Each discrete part corresponds to a zero of the generalized Harish-Chandra c-function in the lower half plane. The discrete parts are studied via invariant Cauchy-Riemann operators. Opis:: It is known that in two-dimensional systems of ODEs of the form $\dotx^i=x^if^i(x)$ with ${\partial f^i}/{\partial x^j} < 0$ (strongly competitive systems), boundaries of the basins of repulsion of equilibria consist of invariant Lipschitz curves, unordered with respect to the coordinatewise (partial) order. We prove that such curves are in fact of class $C^1$.

Opis:: Determination of the global uniaxial compressive strength of rock mass on the basis of the Hoek–Brown failure criterion requires knowledge of the strength parameters: cohesion and the angle of internal friction. In the conventional method for the determination of these parameters given by Balmer, they are expressed by the minimum principal stress. Thus, this method does not allow for the assessment of an impact of hydrostatic pressure and stress path on the value of cohesion, friction angle and global uniaxial compression of rock mass. This problem can be eliminated by using the Hoek–Brown criterion expressed by the invariants of the stress state. The influence of hydrostatic pressure and the Lode angle on the strength parameters of the rock mass was analysed.

Nevertheless, almost all of Lasota's results presented here have their one-parameter continuous semigroup analogs.

Opis:: The problem of linear feedback design for bilinear control systems guaranteeing their conditional closed-loop stability is considered. It is shown that this problem can be reduced to investigating the conditional stability of solutions of quadratic systems of differential equations depending on parameters of the control law. Sufficient conditions for stability in the cone of a homogeneous quadratic system are obtained. For second-order systems, invariant conditions of conditional asymptotic stability are found.

Opis:: Considered herein is the global existence and non-global existence of the initial-boundary value problem for a quasilinear viscoelastic equation with strong damping and source terms. Firstly, we introduce a family of potential wells and give the invariance of some sets, which are essential to derive the main results. Secondly, we establish the existence of global weak solutions under the low initial energy and critical initial energy by the combination of the Galerkin approximation and improved potential well method involving with t. Thirdly, we obtain the finite time blow-up result for certain solutions with the non-positive initial energy and positive initial energy, and then give the upper bound for the blow-up time $T\text{}^{∗}$. Especially, the threshold result between global existence and non-global existence is given under some certain conditions. Finally, a lower bound for the life span $T\text{}^{∗}$ is derived by the means of integro-differential inequality techniques.

Opis:: Let X be a complete metric space, and S the union of a finite number of strict contractions on it. If P is a probability distribution on the maps, and K is the fractal determined by S, there is a unique Borel probability measure $ \mu_P$ on X which is invariant under the associated Markov operator, and its support is K. The Open Set Condition (OSC) requires that a non-empty, subinvariant, bounded open set $ V \subset X$ exists whose images under the maps are disjoint; it is strong if $ K \cup V \ne 0 $.In that case, the core of $ V, \check{V} = \bigcap_{n=0}^\infty $ is non-empty and dense in K. Moreover, when X is separable, $\check{V}$ has full $\mu_p$-measure for every P. We show that the strong condition holds for V satisfying the OSC iff $\mu_P(\delta V) = 0 $, and we prove a zero-one law for it. We characterize the complement of V relative to K, and we establish that the values taken by invariant measures on cylinder sets defined by K, or by the closure of V, form multiplicative cascades.

Opis:: In this article we focus on the balanced truncation linear quadratic regulator (LQR) with constrained states and inputs. For closed-loop, we want to use the LQR to find an optimal control that minimizes the objective function which called "the quadratic cost function” with respect to the constraints on the states and the control input. In order to do that we have used formal asymptotes for the Pontryagin maximum principle (PMP) and we introduce an approach using the so called The Hamiltonian Function and the underlying algebraic Riccati equation. The theoretical results are validated numerically to show that the model order reduction based on open-loop balancing can also give good closed-loop performance.

Opis:: The paper presents conceptual provisions for the construction of invariant multi-frequency piezoelectric resonance devices with a predictive reference model. The law of the optimal control of the system in real time is formulated, aimed at minimizing energy costs to ensure the trajectory of the system. The results of piezoelectric resonance system mathematical modelling in the conditions of temperature and vibration perturbations are presented.
W artykule przedstawiono koncepcyjne zasady konstruowania niezmiennych wieloczęstotliwościowych piezoelektrycznych urządzeń z predykcyjnym modelem odniesienia. Zostało sformułowane prawo optymalnego sterowania systemem w czasie rzeczywistym, aby przy minimalnych stratach energii zapewnić trajektorię ruchu systemu. Przedstawiono wyniki matematycznego modelowania układu piezorezonansowego w warunkach zaburzeń temperatury i drgań.
