The paper presents the possibilities of passive transformations in Swedish, German and Polish, which are confronted with each other on the basis of some constructions with the verbs tacka, danken and dziękować. The use of passive is possible with transitive verbs, which – according to the grammatical definition given by Polański (1999) – the Polish dziękować and the German danken are not. For languages where the case system is reduced, like Swedish or English, transitivity may be defined semantically: a verb is transitive if it demands any object. In the case of Swedish it is possible to transform the verb tacka into passive, an example being the passive imperative construction var tackad (eng. be thanked).

Chosen Language Means of Mitigation of Injunctions in Polish and in French An analysis was made for the words: może/peut-être (‘maybe, perhaps’) and trochę/un peu (‘a bit, a little’), as well as the phatic expressions, apologies and justifications as they belong to the strategy of mitigation. In both the languages, these means make up the cover of the injunctions. In French we can notice a smaller scope of the use of the imperative expressing an order in a direct way. It is usually replaced by indirect structures which are enhanced with the discussed means of mitigation.

Opis:
The paper discusses the nature and the specificacy of the Polish deputy’s mandate as viewed in the light of the Polish Four-Year Seym’s legislation, and above all in the light of the statute on "Sejmiks" and also in the light of Constitution of 3 May 1791. The paper tries to answer whether – on the basis of the aforementioned provisions – the discussed mandate was open or imperative. In order to arrive at the correct answer the author outlines the scope of the analyzed problem. Thus he studies the relationship between the deputies and their electorate, the circles of the former and the latter, the methods applied for the election of deputies and the question of the possible instruction imposed on the deputies and the binding force of the instruction. He also discusses the reporting to which the deputies were obligated upon returning from the session. In the area of these questions the author tries to confront the regulations contained in the statute on the Sejmiks and those provided by the Constitution of 3 May. On the basis of the analysis made by him the author arrives at the conclusion that – in the light of the Four-Year Seym legisilation – the mandate was open. This meant that the concept of imperative mandate was rejected. The paper tries to sum up what previously was established in the research on the problem. In addition the author explores the extent to which the idea of legal accountability of deputies to their electorate might have affected the nature of the deputy’s mandate.

The aim of this analysis is to show the categorical imperative as the cornerstone of human dignity and form of revelation of God in the work of Immanuel Kant and Karol Wojtyla. The suspicious and distant attitude of Christian philosophers, as well as the Catholic Church compared to Kant has a long history. To this day there are only a few researches that analyse from this point of view (Kantian influences) the philosophical thinking of Karol Wojtyla. Though Kant identified the question of God as the cardinal question of our abstract rationality, he believed in God and future life, even in his lifetime he was underestimated, misunderstood and treated with hostility. The experience of duty is”ratio conoscendi” of freedom in Kant and Wojtyla. For the two thinkers the question of freedom is the basic category of there philosophies. Through which authority moral law challenges the human being? Kant and Wojtyla, both philosophers comprehend the highest authority as divine power which formulated the moral law before man. The “holy lawmaker” – God – reveals himself in the human act.

The aim of the article is the imperative analysis of two Slavonic Gospels: the first complete printed edition of the Church Slavonic Bible – The Ostrog Bible (1581) and the18th century altar Gospel (1771) printed in Kiev Pechersk Lavra but kept in Orthodox monastery in Jabłeczna (south-east Poland). The comparison of these two texts on linguistic level permits to ascertain, that over two hundred years Church Slavonic imperative forms have changed. While The Ostrog Bible is settled in Cyrilo-Methodian writing tradition, the younger Jabłeczyńska Gospel presents modernization of imperative forms toward unification, reduction and avoiding homonymic conflict.

Some critical interpreters of Kant’s ethics accuse it for not corresponding to our common moral convictions. Kant claims that we are not allowed to lie to a murderer at the door even when he wants to kill his victim being our friend hidden by us. In this paper I argue against the opinion that there is a sufficient justification for this restriction in Kant’s ethics. If we reconsider the central point of Kant’s moral theory, which is categorical imperative, we will find several arguments for accepting lying in some cases. What is more, in extreme situations we are obliged to lie, for example when it is the only way to save the innocent victim’s life. Thus, one can suggest that Kant interpreted his own theory in a wrong way. In conclusion, I advocate for the view that, after all, Kant’s theory remains in agreement with the common moral intuitions.

The article addresses the issue of monitoring of a technology. The author provides analysis of the inherent limitation of the very idea of controlling and points out the inevitable limits of philosophical, theoretical and practical nature. In that context, selected critical arguments concerning technology, Technology Assessment and Science and Technology Studies are presented. It is argued that the project of geoengineering exemplifies the dangerous views of scientism, so-called technological imperative and instrumentalism, the tendency to underestimate the future risks, and finally, the dilemma of control.

Artykuł eksponuje praktykę pisarską Tadeusza Kantora – „artysty teatru”, który w swoich pismach – zarówno teoretycznych, jak i stricte artystycznych/literackich – przekraczał granice klasycznie rozumianej gatunkowości, zmierzając w stronę hybrydyzacji tekstu. Autorka podejmuje krytyczny dialog z trzytomową edycją „Pism” artysty, wskazując jednocześnie na ważność manuskryptu jako świadectwa dynamicznego procesu twórczego. Odwołując się do koncepcji kłącza Gil-les’a Deleuze’a i Félixa Guattariego, autorka akcentuje problem kł?czowato?ci zapisk?w artysty oraz konfrontuje jego teksty z?t? figur?-modelem (ączowatości zapisków artysty oraz konfrontuje jego teksty z tą figurą-modelem (rhizome), wskazując na nieprzystawalność ponowoczesnego myślenia o podmiocie względem praktyki pisarskiej Kantora. Natomiast sięgając do koncepcji poezji Brunona Schulza i zestawiając ją z refleksjami Kantora na temat języka i mitu, autorka próbuje odnaleźć klucz do językowej koncepcji pisarstwa artysty, nieustannie poszukującego własnego idiomu oraz toczącego swoistą walkę ze słowem.
The article discusses Kantor’s writing practice of crossing borders between styles and genres, which in effect produced thoroughly hybrid literary or theoretical texts. The article focuses in particular on the analysis of Kantor’s manuscripts which give evidence of a dynamically changing and evolving nature of the text production. The theories of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari are used by the author to prove that the postmodern philosophy and analysis do not capture the specific idiom of Kantor’s writing. Comparing Bruno Schulz with Kantor’s concept of literature, the author shows his specific way of forging a very personal idiom of writing and of literary expression.

The following article is an attempt to postulate the paradigm shift concerning the perception of delinquency and re-socialization. The author develops a theory centring on immaturity as an approach to explaining the phenomenon of delinquency. The re-socialization as an instrument for eliminating delinquency can also be used as an instruction of subsequent maturation. Therefore two new theoretical approaches were outlined. Furthermore four aspects according to methodology were mentioned. In order to create two scientific and complementary theories, it is necessary to point out the causal connections between defective socialisation and the deficits of immaturity. It can be assumed that there also exists other ways which trigger off the processes of subsequent maturation. The author supposes that the text not only emphasizes the necessity of a paradigm shift but also the implementation of re-socialization in a psychological and ethical context. Usually summaries try to state positive and optimistic forecasts. According to the increasing cognitive inability of triggering off the processes of reflexions of immature people, that are essential about learning the regulation of their impulsiveness, the future expectations are rather bad. By applying the classic theory or definition of re-socialization it is not possible to evoke relevant changes of personality – rather the opposite is going to happen. It is unsure at the moment whether the alternative method is able to have an impact on immature people. However, a critical view over the topic leads to extensive conclusions. The criminals due to their grown immaturity become representatives of re-socializing actions. But there has to be considered that immaturity is an attribute that affects all people in all professions or social classes. The lack of social responsibility by politicians or CEO’s for instance causes damages like the loss of workplaces or the waste of tax revenues. To conclude it is a mistake to believe that the acquisition of technical or economic knowledge automatically quasi effortlessly can lead to acquisition of necessary maturity.
Resocjalizacja w Niemczech poza murami więziennymi, ale także w ich obrębie koncentruje się prawie wyłącznie na aspektach prawnych. Takie ukierunkowanie poczynań resocjalizacyjnych wynika z konkretnej ideologii, nazwanej w tekście „teorią zaspakajania potrzeb”. Fundamentem tej teorii jest pojęcie człowieka i jego godności jako nieskazitelnej. Oznacza to w praktyce bezkrytyczne podejście do każdego człowieka, także do obarczonego popełnionymi przestępstwami. Szuka się różnych, m.in. socjologicznych wyjaśnień dla popełnionych czynów przestępczych, relatywizujących winę osobistą, uznając zarazem, że przestępcę należy postrzegać wyłącznie jako człowieka z potrzebami, które należy zaspokoić, a jeśli trzeba, także przy użyciu wszelkich środków prawnych. Wychodzi się z założenia, że opieka nad przestępcą w formie zarówno umożliwienia mu pozyskania środków materialnych, jak i dostępu do pracy, wykształcenia i ułatwienia mu pozbycia się długów itd., jest właściwą i ekskluzywną drogą do zapobieżenia dalszym przestępstwom. Teoria ta nie dopuszcza innych wniosków w postaci osobistej winy wynikającej z wad, które z kolei powstały wskutek niedojrzałości psychicznej. W konsekwencji wyklucza się pracę nad charakterem, który nie potrafił się w przewidzianym na to czasie rozwinąć i pozostał karłowatym, na poziomie małego dziecka. Takie ograniczone postrzeganie człowieka jest sprzeczne z etyką chrześcijańska, której historia zna konieczność pracy nad charakterem, celem której jest nabycie cnót. Ograniczone postrzeganie człowieka prowadzi do nieskuteczności klasycznej resocjalizacji. Nieskuteczność implikuje konieczność zmiany paradygmatu. Autor wylicza szereg cech niedorozwiniętego charakteru, które stwierdza się u późniejszych przestępców. Koncentrując uwagę na niedojrzałości jako przyczynie nie tylko przestępstw, ale i porażek w życiu, które czynią niedojrzałych niesamodzielnymi, uzależnionymi ludźmi, kładzie podwaliny pod nową alternatywną teorię resocjalizacyjną – „teorię wtórnego dojrzewania”. Artykuł kończy opisem czterech metod istotnych dla wdrożenia tej teorii w życie.

Since their very beginning, most of the “life design interventions” (which were previously named vocational guidance, career counseling or career education) developed in the 20th century, have focused on the facilitation of access to available occupational functions and, especially, to paid employment. However, the severe crises afflicting the world at present compel us to inquire in how much the current forms of work organization, as well as of the organization of the exchange of work’s products, have been accessory to triggering them. These organization forms are very efficient, but have negative consequences both for the planet (pollution, depletion of natural resources, etc.) and for the self-construction and health of a significant number of workers (exhaustion, stress, sense of worthlessness, burnout, occupational diseases, depression, suicide, etc.). But work as such is much more than just paid-work. Many work activities are exchanged in ways other than monetary ones (e.g., domestic work). Work has indeed a psychological function of praxis: people seek to satisfy their need for achievement by engaging in production of goods and services. This desire of achievement and self-fulfillment through working makes it possible to develop life-design interventions that address the issue of constructing a human(e) sustainable world. Such interventions would be designed around the counselees’ reflection in which their inclusion in the current world of work would be secondary to the overriding concern of their individual contribution, by their humane and decent work activities, to the development of a good life, with and for others, in just institutions, to ensure the sustainability of a genuine human life on earth.
Od samego ich zarania celem większości działań podejmowanych w ramach „poradnictwa konstruowania życia” (zwanego poprzednio doradztwem zawodowym, poradnictwem kariery lub edukacją kariery) opracowanych w XX wieku była pomoc w podjęciu dostępnych funkcji zawodowych, a szczególnie płatnego zatrudnienia. Jednakże głębokie kryzysy, które nękają świat, powinny skłonić nas do zastanowienia, w jakim stopniu formy organizacji pracy, a także organizacji wymiany wytworów pracy, przyczyniły się do wywołania tych kryzysów. Owe formy organizacji, choć bardzo wydajne, niosą szkodliwe skutki tak dla całej planety (zanieczyszczenie środowiska, kurczenie się zasobów naturalnych itd.), jak i dla zdrowia oraz procesów konstruowania siebie znacznej liczby pracowników (wyczerpanie, stres, poczucie braku wartości, wypalenie, choroby zawodowe, depresja, samobójstwa itd.). Ale praca nie jest równoznaczna jedynie z płatną posadą. Rożne formy pracy (np. prace domowe) wymienia się w trybach innych niż monetarne. Praca pełni w rzeczy samej psychologiczną funkcję praxis, co oznacza, że zaangażowanie w wytwarzanie dóbr i usług umożliwia ludziom zaspokojenie potrzeby osiągnięć. Biorąc pod uwagę to, że dzięki pracy jednostki pragną czegoś dokonać i osiągnąć samospełnienie, można opracować działania wpierające konstruowanie życia, w których ważnym względem będzie budowanie zrównoważonego ludzkiego świata. Takie działania powinny zasadniczo opierać się na refleksji radzących się, w której chęć włączenia się w dzisiejszy świat pracy byłaby drugorzędna wobec naczelnej troski o to, aby dzięki ludzkim i godnym zajęciom i czynnościom przyczynić się do rozwoju dobrego życia z innymi i dla innych oraz podtrzymać ciągłość zrównoważonego, autentycznego ludzkiego życia na ziemi.

The aim of this paper is to discuss some statements concerning the syntactic features of imperative forms of the verbs BAĆ SIĘ, OBAWIAĆ SIĘ, LĘKAĆ SIĘ ('to fear (of) sth') made by M. Gębka-Wolak and A. Moroz in the article Individual syntactic propensities of imperative forms (on the basis of the verbs: BAĆ SIĘ, OBAWIAĆ SIĘ, LĘKAĆ SIĘ) (2011). The conclusion is that the imperative forms of the verbs BAĆ SIĘ, OBAWIAĆ SIĘ, LĘKAĆ SIĘ, against the opinion of these Authors, do not have syntactical requirements different from those of the forms of the indicative mood of these verbs.

Opis:
What processes in the system of the Ukrainian national language reflect the word forms of the imperative which we find in works by the outstanding Ukrainian poet B. Antonych? Thus some peculiarities of the individual speech of the poet, reflecting peculiar features of his native Lemkiv dialect, are the reason to study the relationship between the morphological structure of word forms of the imperative mood and the type of their stress. The study of system interdependences and relations, existing at different structural levels of the Ukrainian language system, will give a possibility to identify a lot of characteristics of the Ukrainian verb in modern Ukrainian lexicography.

The paper focuses on the relation between imperatives and imperativeness, that is, between the imperative as a grammatical mood with a defined form and its assigned function, on the one hand, and imperativeness as a communicative value that can manifest itself through different morphosyntactic forms, on the other. In this sense, the function of imperatives is analysed in the context of the theory of speech acts. The analysis reveals that different imperative forms can be classified as different types of speech acts based on their various communicative roles. The theory of politeness dictates that directness, which is a basic feature of imperatives, should be avoided in polite communication. This is why we also focus on other morphosyntactic forms whose form indicates a reduced level of directness, but whose content still has the characteristics of imperatives.
