We consider join-semilattices with 1 where for every element p a mapping on the interval [p,1] is defined; these mappings are called sectional mappings and such structures are called semilattices with sectional mappings. We assign to every semilattice with sectional mappings a binary operation which enables us to classify the cases where the sectional mappings are involutions and / or antitone mappings. The paper generalizes results of [3] and [4], and there are also some connections to [1].

Opis:
Cross-border geological mapping is essential for proper understanding of the Poland’s border areas geological setting and their mineral potential. Close co-operation with geological institutions of the neighbouring countries is, therefore, necessary. The joint detailed geological mapping of the cross-border areas was difficult until 1990 because of security reasons. The whole Polish Geological Institute’s mapping activity concentrated, until that time, on very general cartographic presentations of the regional, European or world-wide geology, tectonics, palaeogeography, mineral perspectives, and so on, in the adequately small scales. Since the early 1990s the Institute started to develop more systematic, geophysical, geological and geo-environmental mapping of the common cross-border areas with the national geological surveys and other geological institutions of the neighbouring countries. The most systematic and most detailed cartographic surveys have been carried out so far with the German geological surveys. The Czech, Slovak, and Lithuanian surveys cooperated also very actively. A great cartographic effort has been made on the Baltic Sea geology, as well. Geological mapping co-operation with the Ukrainian, Belarusian, and Russian institution is eventually slowly building up, too. This paper presents the up-to-date results of the joint Polish Geological Institute and the neighbouring geological surveys activities in the geological mapping of the cross-border areas, as well as some current, mapping related activities.

The sales market requires both the highest quality of offered goods and satisfactory prices for the buyer. In addition to the reliability of the important aspects are also the time of order fulfillment, reliability, readiness to act around the clock, and service of sold goods after their sale. In the production and confection of conveyor belts, the priority is a customer who, having strictly defined product requirements, also has individually focused goals. To meet these aspects, you need to look after the product both during its production and after. The products of this industry are specific, so that they can be used, after sales service is often required to be installed at the customer and possible actions to maintain their good condition during operation. The article analyzes selected production processes of transmission belts to identify disturbances. The analysis uses the value stream mapping method. Then, improvement methods were proposed.

The protection and preservation of good groundwater quality is of critical importance worldwide, nowadays. Increasing urbanization, economic development and agricultural activities, combined with limited precipitation contribute to the quantitative and qualitative degradation of groundwater resources, especially in the eastern Mediterranean region. For this purpose, a series of actions are implemented including groundwater vulnerability mapping that can depict prone to pollution aquifers which need protection and/or restoration measures. In this study, the efficiency of two well-known methodologies (COP and DRASTIC) for groundwater vulnerability and pollution risk mapping was assessed in the Sperchios river basin. The vulnerability and pollution risk maps of the two methodologies were spatially compared to each other and the observed similarities and differences were discussed and explained. The output of the study shows that in the particular geoenvironmental conditions DRASTIC method performs better than the COP, particularly in the lowland, porous media aquifer.

Opis:
Aerial photographs are a source of geological information that may be unobtainable elsewhere. If the fullest use is to be made of this information for the purpose of geological mapping, there must be a planned integration of the photogeological work with the field and laboratory investigations. The appearance of the first satellites for civil purposes on the beginning of the 1970s (such as ERTS – Landsat series), of most land areas of the Earth has provided new opportunity for photogeologists. Many areas can now be studied and mapped geologically for which neither adequate maps nor vertical aerial photograps were available. The advantages of the present satellite systems and examples of their application by specialists of the Polish Geological Institute are presented in this paper. Nowadays, it is practically impossible to imagine performing geological mapping without application of remote sensing data and analysis. Development of new technologies is very fast and new borne techniques are coming like permanent scatter interferometry, laser scanning etc. However, we should always remember, that they are only very useful tools to help geologists in their field mapping art and practise.

Habitat mapping has become an increasingly important application of remote sensing. Active and passive acoustic techniques have greatly improved in the last decade, and their use extends into other spheres to show their economic, legal, political and environmental benefits. This paper reviews the current status of acoustic techniques for habitat mapping. Traditional techniques include echosounders, multibeam systems and sidescan sonars. Passive techniques are also presented, along with geoacoustic inversion and acoustic daylight imaging. The developments in new techniques such as non-linear acoustics, synthetic aperture and interferometry are reviewed. Some emerging techniques are showing increasing potential for habitat mapping, and bistatic sonar, parametric SAS and 3-D chirp profiling are briefly reviewed. Leading international programmes are now making use of these techniques, most often in combination, and their results inform the recommendations for future uses and desired technological developments.

It is well known that a power of a right invertible operator is again right invertible, as well as a polynomial in a right invertible operator under appropriate assumptions. However, a linear combination of right invertible operators (in particular, their sum and/or difference) in general is not right invertible. It will be shown how to solve equations with linear combinations of right invertible operators in commutative algebras using properties of logarithmic and antilogarithmic mappings. The used method is, in a sense, a kind of the variables separation method. We shall obtain also an analogue of the classical Fourier method for partial differential equations. Note that the results concerning the Fourier method are proved under weaker assumptions than these obtained in [6] (cf. also [7, 8, 11]).

Let X be a Leibniz algebra with unit e, i.e. an algebra with a right invertible linear operator D satisfying the Leibniz condition: D(xy) = xDy + (Dx)y for x,y belonging to the domain of D. If logarithmic mappings exist in X, then cosine and sine elements C(x) and S(x) defined by means of antilogarithmic mappings satisfy the Trigonometric Identity, i.e. $[C(x)]^2 + [S(x)]^2 = e$ whenever x belongs to the domain of these mappings. The following question arises: Do there exist non-Leibniz algebras with logarithms such that the Trigonometric Identity is satisfied? We shall show that in non-Leibniz algebras with logarithms the Trigonometric Identity does not exist. This means that the above question has a negative answer, i.e. the Leibniz condition in algebras with logarithms is a necessary and sufficient condition for the Trigonometric Identity to hold.

Opis:
Nigeria has a vast array of both natural and cultural tourist attractions. The country’s tourism industry, however, remains grossly underdeveloped, and the tourism resources are largely untapped. Hence, the tourism sector of the economy is yet to contribute significantly to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP). One major factor that is responsible for the nation’s current lacklustre performance of the tourism sector is the poor state of tourism packaging and promotion, which, amongst other things is caused by the lack of appropriate tourist maps. Tourism mapping is a key component of tourism planning, development, promotion and management. For Nigeria to drastically and significantly improve the fortunes of her tourism sector, the production, circulation and use of accurate, current and comprehensive tourist maps and atlases must be vigorously pursued. To ensure sustainable tourism mapping and in line with global best practices, the country needs to adopt a Geoinformation technology-based, Internet-compatible multimedia cartographic approach. The author of this paper, therefore, examines the current state of tourism industry and tourism mapping in Nigeria. Some of the hiccups to tourism mapping in the country are identified. The implications of the present poor state of tourism mapping on tourism planning, development, promotion and management in the country are briefly considered. The author makes a strong case for the adoption of a multimedia cartographic approach to tourism mapping in Nigeria. A case of mapping wildlife parks in Nigeria is presented to demonstrate the prospects of effective multimedia tourism mapping of the country. Furthermore, the author identifies and discusses various existing resources in the country that could be harnessed for efficient and sustainable production, distribution and use of multimedia tourist maps/atlases, using Geographical Information Technologies (GIT). Some potential challenges to effective GIT-based tourism mapping in the country as well as how such challenges could be overcome, are equally discussed. Similarly, a model for Web-based, multimedia tourism mapping using GIT is presented. With clear vision, the right policy instrument, mandate, legislation, funding and coordination in place, the current challenges to effective and sustainable tourism mapping in Nigeria can easily be surmounted.

The security environment is evolving dynamically and analysis of is the task of work security managers. To analyse the security environment we need different data. There are currently online databases published on the publicly accessible data warehouse, as well as web map servers, often in the form of eg. Underlying topographical data used for analysing. Another source of data is the Statistical Office and other authorities or police. Spatial analyses often provide a different view of the monitored phenomenon. Crime mapping is a valuable source of data for the analysis of the security environment. An advantage can be considered the identification of risk areas as well as the monitoring of changes in the extent and location of risk places. The second advantage is the ability to focus only on the analysis of selected offenses that can help, for example, in the monitoring of selected social groups. Crime mapping results are important sources of data for comprehensive analysis of the security environment at the city level. This is confirmed by the results of mapping crime in Kosice for the years 2010 to 2015 presented in this article.

Per-pixel extrusion mapping consists of creating a virtual geometry that is stored in a texture over a polygon model without increasing its density. There are four types of extrusion mapping; namely, basic extrusion, outward extru sion, beveled extrusion, and chamfered extrusion. These different techniques produce satisfactory results in the case of plane surfaces; however, when it is about curved surfaces, a silhouette is not visible at the edges of the extruded forms on the 3D surface geometry, as they not take the curvatures of the 3D meshes into account. In this paper, we present an improvement that consists of using curved ray-tracing to correct the silhouette problem by combining per-pixel extrusion-mapping techniques with a quadratic approximation that is computed at each vertex of a 3D mesh.

The author presents a geospatial analysis of the Peru-Chile Trench located in the South Pacific Ocean by the Generic Mapping Tool (GMT) scripting toolset used to process and model data sets. The study goal is to perform geomorphological modelling by the comparison of two segments of the trench located in northern (Peruvian) and southern (Chilean) parts. The aim of the study is to perform automatic digitizing profiles using GMT and several scripting modules. Orthogonal cross-section profiles transecting the trench in a perpendicular direction were automatically digitized, and the profiles visualized and compared. The profiles show variations in the geomorphology of the trench in the northern and southern segments. To visualize geological and geophysical settings, a set of the thematic maps was visualized by GMT modules: free-air gravity anomaly, geoid, geology and bathymetry. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis of the bathymetry in both segments show that the most frequent depths for the Peruvian segment of the Peru-Chile Trench range from -4,000 to -4,200 (827 recorded samples) versus the range of -4,500 to -4,700 m for the Peruvian segment (1,410 samples). The Peruvian segment of the trench is deeper and its geomorphology steeper with abrupt slopes compared to the Chilean segment. A comparison of the data distribution for both segments gives the following results. The Peruvian segment has the majority of data (23%) reaching 1,410 (-4,500 m to -4,700 m). This peak shows a steep pattern in data distribution, while other data in the neighbouring diapason are significantly lower: 559 (-4,700 m to -5,000 m) and 807 (-4,200 m to -4,400 m). The Chilean segment has more unified data distribution for depths of -6,000 m to -7,000 m. This paper presents GMT workflow for the cartographic automatic modelling and mapping deep-sea trench geomorphology.

Asudeh and Giorgolo (2012) offer an analysis of optional and derived arguments that does away with argument structure as a separate level of representation within the architecture of Lexical Functional Grammar in favour of encoding much of this information in a connected semantic structure. This simplifies the architecture in many ways, but leaves open the question of the mapping between thematic roles, arguments, and grammatical functions (traditionally explored under the umbrella of Lexical Mapping Theory; LMT: Bresnan and Kanerva 1989). In this paper, I offer a formalisation of these mapping relations, drawing on a modern reanalysis of traditional LMT (Kibort 2007), while also continuing Asudeh and Giorgolo’s (2012) quest to evacuate as much information as possible out of individual lexical entries and into cross-categorising templates (Dalrymple et al. 2004; Crouch et al. 2012).

Background: Game scenario is an important factor for achieving player enjoyment; consisting a key business success factor. Additionally, the production of early design artifacts is crucial for the success of the development process. However, representing scenarios is a non-trivial task: (a) multiple aspects of the game need to be visualized; and (b) there is a plethora of representation approaches, out of which the game designer needs to select from. Aim: The goal of this work is to provide a panorama of the current scenario representation approaches, to aid game engineers in selecting the most fitting scenario representation approach and understand the existing designing options. Method: We have performed a Systematic Mapping Study, using 4 digital libraries, since the main goal can be achieved through study classification. By following an established search and filtering process, we have identified 717 articles, and analyzed in detail 95. Results: Diagrams are the most common generic approach to represent scenario; Game story is the most usual part of the scenario being represented; Characters are the most common component; and Transitions are the most usual connectors. Conclusion: Researchers may get useful information for empirically investigating several game engineering aspects; whereas game engineers can efficiently select the most fitting approach.

Opis:
The purpose of the paper is the identification and description of factors affecting the process of sacralisation as well as the implementation of theoretical concepts in a case study of the Baltic city of Gdynia. The time range of the research is limited to the postwar period (1945–2013). It has been assumed that the formation of any religious landscape occurs under two main circumstances: (1) the need to express faith and (2) the opportunity to do it. The former is an internal factor and depends on religiosity, while the latter is closely related to politics, environment, economy and social life. A detailed scheme was constructed around this statement in the form of a mapping sentence. The research is based on qualitative measures which include field observation, analysis of source documents, and an analysis and criticism of bibliographic sources. Visual documentation and participant observation have also been used. There are two main conclusions coming out of this paper. Although any religious landscape is a mixture of different factors, by the 1980s the sacralisation of Gdynia was determined mainly by political factors, and later by economic and cultural ones. Furthermore, for three decades some tendencies, typical also for the whole country, have also been recognised in Gdynia: monumentalism, privatisation of sacred sites and the “John-Paul-the-Second-isation” of public spaces.

The paper presents the review of mapping techniques applied in research using mental maps. The review covers both evaluative and structural mapping. The choice of a method is influenced by the level of freedom given to the respondents while creating sketch maps. It is also highly aefcted by the area of a given region, scale used in the research and limitations of mapping techniques in GIS software. For large scale maps created in GIS software, it is possible to use quantitative methods, i.e. proportional symbol maps or quantitative signature symbols. Using multiple complementary mapping techniques allows to draw the most comprehensive conclusions in the analyses of perception of a given space in the society.

Opis:
Traditionally, the term mobile mapping refers to a means of collecting geospatial data using mapping sensors that are mounted on a mobile platform. Historically, this process was mainly driven by the need for highway infrastructure mapping and transportation corridor inventories. However, the recent advances in mapping sensor and telecommunication technologies create the opportunity that, completely new, emergent application areas of mobile mapping to evolve rapidly. This article examines the potential of mobile mapping technology (MMT) in sports science and in particular in competitive rowing. Notably, in this study the concept definition of mobile mapping somehow differs from the traditional one in a way that, the end result is not relevant to the geospatial information acquired as the moving platform travels in space. In contrast, the interest is placed on the moving platform (rowing boat) itself and on the various subsystems which are also in continuous motion. As an initial step of an on-going research this article discusses the biomechanics of rowing in relation to applied technique and equipment. Also, it reviews the current practices and sensor systems used for monitoring and evaluating performance in rowing. Finally, it presents an integrated data acquisition and processing scheme for rowing based on modern MMT. To this effect, a critical assessment of the various types of sensors as well as their installation and integration into a recording system is detailed. This analysis benefits by a number of preliminary tests using real data recordings. The boat kinematics (velocity, acceleration and attitude), techniques for their noise elimination and processes for computing average stroke characteristics are studied thoroughly. Also, the pattern of motion in rowing (stroke cycle) is examined in relation to athlete technique and capacity.

Bessaga and Pełczyński showed that if $c_0$ embeds in the dual $X^*$ of a Banach space X, then $ℓ^1$ embeds as a complemented subspace of X. Pełczyński proved that every infinite-dimensional closed linear subspace of $ℓ^1$ contains a copy of $ℓ^1$ that is complemented in $ℓ^1$. Later, Kadec and Pełczyński proved that every non-reflexive closed linear subspace of $L^1 [0,1]$ contains a copy of $ℓ^1$ that is complemented in $L^1 [0,1]$. In this note a traditional sliding hump argument is used to establish a simple mapping property of $c_0$ which simultaneously yields extensions of the preceding theorems as corollaries. Additional classical mapping properties of $c_0$ are briefly discussed and applications are given.

Opis:
The present age of digital subsurface mapping is represented above all by quantitative maps based on regular grids. They are created on the basis of various input data: digitized contours, widely comprehended well data, 2D and 3D seismic, and qualitative geological maps. Scope and the data utilization and the applied methodology of processing are strictly dependent on the scale and purpose of a given map; for regional and detailed maps they are significantly different. However, irrespective of the map scale, correct models, reflecting probable subsurface variability, instead of the input data spatial distribution and applied estimation algorithm themselves, are conditioned by chances of integrating of all the mentioned types of data. These purposes can be achieved only through the application of the most flexible interpretive programs such as ZMAP–Plus or mapping modules of the Geographix system. High quality quantitative subsurface maps based on regular grids are nowadays used first of all in petroleum exploration and geothermal research. But development of such studies may contribute to creation of high-quality, interactive, subsurface models, available not only for owners of expensive professional software but also for all geoscientists interested in these topics.

Bluetooth beacons are becoming increasingly popular for various applications such as marketing or indoor navigation. However, designing a proper beacon installation requires knowledge of the possible sources of interference in the target environment. While theoretically beacon signal strength should decay linearly with log distance, on-site measurements usually reveal that noise from objects such as Wi-Fi networks operating in the vicinity significantly alters the expected signal range. The paper presents a novel mobile Geographic Information System for measurement, mapping and local as well as online storage of Bluetooth beacon signal strength in semireal time. For the purpose of on-site geovisual analysis of the signal, the application integrates a dedicated interpolation algorithm optimized for low-power devices. The paper discusses the performance and quality of the mapping algorithms in several different test environments.

With the increasing uses of internet technologies in daily life, vulnerability of personal data/information is also increasing. Performing secure communication over the channel which is insecure has always been a problem because of speedy development of various technologies. Encryption scheme provides secrecy to data by enabling only authorized user to access it. In the proposed paper, we present an encryption algorithm designed for data security based on bilinear mapping and prove it secure by providing its security theoretical proof against adaptive chosen cipher-text attack. With the help of a lemma, we have shown that no polynomially bounded adversary has non-negligible advantage in the challenging game. We also give the comparative analysis of the proposed scheme in terms of security and performance with Deng et al., 2020 and Jiang et al., 2021 schemes and prove that proposed algorithm is more efficient and secure than others existing in literature against adaptive chosen cipher-text attack.

We prove a basic property of continuous multilinear mappings between topological vector spaces, from which we derive an easy proof of the fact that a multilinear mapping (and a polynomial) between topological vector spaces is weakly continuous on weakly bounded sets if and only if it is weakly uniformly} continuous on weakly bounded sets. This result was obtained in 1983 by Aron, Hervés and Valdivia for polynomials between Banach spaces, and it also holds if the weak topology is replaced by a coarser one. However, we show that it need not be true for a stronger topology, thus answering a question raised by Aron. As an application of the first result, we prove that a holomorphic mapping ƒ between complex Banach spaces is weakly uniformly continuous on bounded subsets if and only if it admits a factorization of the form f = g∘S, where S is a compact operator and g a holomorphic mapping.

Nowadays, Multimedia Communication has improved rapidly to allow people to communicate via the Internet. However, Internet users cannot communicate with each other unless they use the same chatting applications since each chatting application uses a certain signaling protocol to make the media call. The mapping architecture is a very critical issue since it solves the communication problems between any two protocols, as well as it enables people around the world to make a voice/video call even if they use different chatting applications. Providing the interoperability between different signaling protocols and multimedia applications takes the advantages of more than one protocol. Many mapping architectures have been proposed to ease exchanging the media between at least two users without facing any difficulties such as SIP-Jingle, IAX-RSW, H.323-MGCP, etc. However, the design of any of the existing mapping architectures has some weaknesses related to larger delay, time consuming, and security matters. The only way to overcome these problems is to propose an efficient mapping architecture. This paper proposed a new mapping architecture between Inter-Asterisk eXchange Protocol and Jingle Protocol. The proposed mapping architecture consists of IAX domain (IAX client, IAX server, IAX-to-Jingle gateway), and Jingle domain (Jingle client, Jingle server, Jingle-to-IAX gateway). The tasks of the translation gateways are represented by the URI conversion, media capability exchange, translator of call setup and teardown signals, and real time media transmission.

Several methods have been proposed in the literature to address the problem of automatic mapping by a robot using range scan data, under localization uncertainty. Most scan matching methods rely on the minimization of the matching error among individual range scans. However, uncertainty in sensor data often leads to erroneous matching, hard to cope with in a purely automatic approach. This paper proposes a semi-automatic approach, denoted interactive mapping, involving a human operator in the process of detecting and correcting erroneous matches. Instead of allowing the operator complete freedom in correcting the matching in a frame by frame basis, the proposed method facilitates the adjustment along the directions with more ambiguity, while constraining the others. Experimental results using LIDAR data are presented to validate empirically the approach, together with a preliminary user study to evaluate the benefits of the approach.

Background: Model Driven Web Engineering (MDWE) is the application of the model driven paradigm to the domain of web software development, where it is particularly helpful because of the continuous evolution of Web technologies and platforms. Objective: In this paper, we prepare a survey of primary studies on MDWE to explore current work and identify needs for future research. Method: Systematic mapping study uses for finding the most relevant studies and classification. In this study, we found 289 papers and a classification scheme divided them depending on their research focus, contribution type and research type. Results: The papers of solution proposal (20%) research type are majority. The most focused areas of MDWE appear to be: Web Applicability (31%), Molding and Notation (19%), and Services and Oriented (18%). The majority of contributions are methods (33%). Moreover, this shows MDWE as a wide, new, and active area to publications. Conclusions: Whilst additional analysis is warranted within the MDWE scope, in literature, composition mechanisms have been thoroughly discoursed. Furthermore, we have witnessed that the recurrent recommendation for Validation Research, Solution Proposal and Philosophical Papers has been done through earlier analysis.

Opis:
The article focuses on trends and methods as well as tools used for mapping and visualization of scientific domains as a research methodology which is attracting more and more interest from scientific information and science studies professionals; several factors which have contributed to such developments are also discussed. Science mapping or bibliometric mapping is a spatial repre-sentation of how disciplines, fields, specialties, and individual documents or authors are related to one another (Small, 1999). Different approaches have been developed to extract networks using the selected units of analysis (authors, documents, journals, terms, etc.). Furthermore, the authors looks at the most popular computer programs used for the processing of bibliographic and biblio-metric data.. In addition, plans and activities are presented concerning a comprehensive analysis of IRNet project (www.irnet.us.edu.pl) networking activities and numerous publications, using spe-cial ICT tools and study methods, first of all Pajek and presenting a several examples.

Opis:
In this paper, we present the streamed photon mapping method for enhancing the rendering of caustics. In order to achieve a realistic caustic effect, global illumination methods require additional data, which are gathered by creating a caustic map or increasing the number of samples used for rendering. Our method employs a stream of photons with a varying luminance level depending on the material properties of the surface. The application of a concentrated photon stream provides the ability to render caustics effectively without increasing the number of photons in a photon map. Such an approach increases visibility of results, while also allowing for faster computations.

Opis:
The Gaussian mixture model (GMM) method is popular and efficient for voice conversion (VC), but it is often subject to overfitting. In this paper, the principal component regression (PCR) method is adopted for the spectral mapping between source speech and target speech, and the numbers of principal components are adjusted properly to prevent the overfitting. Then, in order to better model the nonlinear relationships between the source speech and target speech, the kernel principal component regression (KPCR) method is also proposed. Moreover, a KPCR combined with GMM method is further proposed to improve the accuracy of conversion. In addition, the discontinuity and oversmoothing problems of the traditional GMM method are also addressed. On the one hand, in order to solve the discontinuity problem, the adaptive median filter is adopted to smooth the posterior probabilities. On the other hand, the two mixture components with higher posterior probabilities for each frame are chosen for VC to reduce the oversmoothing problem. Finally, the objective and subjective experiments are carried out, and the results demonstrate that the proposed approach shows greatly better performance than the GMM method. In the objective tests, the proposed method shows lower cepstral distances and higher identification rates than the GMM method. While in the subjective tests, the proposed method obtains higher scores of preference and perceptual quality.

This article provides an introduction to Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (SLAM), with the focus on probabilistic SLAM utilizing a feature-based description of the environment. A probabilistic formulation of the SLAM problem is introduced, and a solution based on the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF-SLAM) is shown. Important issues of convergence, consistency, observability, data association and scaling in EKF-SLAM are discussed from both theoretical and practical points of view. Major extensions to the basic EKF-SLAM method and some recent advances in SLAM are also presented.

Let M be a differentiable manifold and denote by nabla and nabla~ two linear connections on M. Nabla and nabla~ are said to be geodesically equivalent if and only if they have the same geodesics. A Riemannian manifold (M, g) is a naturally reductive homogeneous manifold if and only if nabla and nabla~ = nabla - T are geodesically equivalent, where T is a homogeneous structure on (M, g) ([7]). In the present paper we prove that if it is possible to map geodesically a homogeneous Riemannian manifold (M, g) onto (M, nabla~), then the map is affine. If a naturally reductive manifold (M, g) admits a nontrivial geodesic mapping onto a Riemannian manifold (formula) then both manifolds are of constant cutvature. We also give some results for almost geodesic mappings (M, g) arr (M, nabla~).

Background: Intelligent software is a significant societal change agent. Recent research indicates that organizations must change to reap the full benefits of AI. We refer to this change as AI transformation (AIT). The key challenge is to determine how to change and which are the consequences of increased AI use. Aim: The aim of this study is to aggregate the body of knowledge on AIT research. Method: We perform an systematic mapping study (SMS) and follow Kitchenham’s procedure. We identify 52 studies from Scopus, IEEE, and Science Direct (2010–2020). We use the Mixed-Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT) to critically assess empirical work. Results Work on AIT is mainly qualitative and originates from various disciplines. We are unable to identify any useful definition of AIT. To our knowledge, this is the first SMS that focuses on empirical AIT research. Only a few empirical studies were found in the sample we identified. Conclusions We define AIT and propose a research agenda. Despite the popularity and attention related to AI and its effects on organizations, our study reveals that a significant amount of publications on the topic lack proper methodology or empirical data.

This paper reviews the literature on noise monitoring, noise mapping and noise modeling studies carried out in different countries by many researchers. The article reveals the current status of the noise-related studies and noise mapping studies. It was discovered that 90% of the noise monitoring studies were focused on the traffic noise, while the remaining 10% focused on the residential, commercial and industrial areas. Sometimes, there may be a necessity to analyze the sound pressure levels all over the place, or around a particular piece of land and machinery of industry. Researchers have used the noise monitoring data for the development of 2D and 3D noise maps which gives a clear picture of the noise level around the source of noise in X, Y, and Z direction. For taking a decision regarding the noise level for any development project, predicting the noise level is always necessary. The traffic noise models are generally used for the purpose of prediction. Early models are based on constant vehicle speed, later some models predicted the noise level for interrupting the traffic flow. For instance, the Stop and Go model can be used for the prediction of the noise level in an interrupted flow. Four such models were reviewed and compared in this article.

This paper describes possibilities of using the phase portrait for the diagnosis of the turbojet engine AŁ-21F3 type. Attention is paid to description of the theoretical basis of application of this method to identify the engine fuel system. The identification of the engine fuel system was conducted for each operating adjusting point according to the mono-selection 3r plan with variable data sampling period with a frequency equal to a constant submultiple of the engine rotation frequency. It is explained how the settings of the operational control of the AŁ-23F3 engine fuel system influence the shape of the phase characteristics of engine rotation speed. Additionally, the location of the phase portrait distinctive points is determined. Moreover, there are shown examples of phase portraits for selected ranges of engine operation. It is shown, as an example of using the phase mapping, the ability to monitor parameters of the automatic engine start up using the adjusting machine screw of the altitude corrector of the start-up automaton and changes of the diameter of the start-up automaton nozzle. It is also shown that the qualitative analysis of the adjustment of specific ranges of engine operation is sufficient to determine the influence of the individual adjusting points for those operating ranges.

Digitization in the production area represents the integrated planning and management of production and logistics systems and networks based on digital models, methods, and tools, which are built on a common flexible information and communication platform. Currently known and used Lean tools need to be dynamized and oriented to the creation of digital business, where digital models can be heterogeneous, respectively usable in several projects. One of these possibilities is the use of the Lean production method – Value Stream Mapping, the potential of which in the context of the above mentioned is great. The aim of the presented article is based on Gemba analysis of the production process to process the value stream in the environment of the software tool TX Plant Simulation for the needs of flexible reflection on changes in various parameters within the value stream. The case study carried out under this article aims, among other things, to highlight the importance of combining simple Lean Production tools with software in finding, testing, and designing alternative solutions. The potential of using the processed model was also processed for the needs of digitization of business processes in the future.

Opis:
Digital Soil Mapping (DSM) is a subdiscipline of pedology, where soil cover is modelled through use of spatial – temporal relations between environmental covariates and soil. The process of quantitative terrain description used in DSM is called terrain parametrization, where terrain attributes (morphometric factors, Digital Terrain Model derivatives) are the most used predicators. Terrain parameterisation was used as a tool in the hydrological survey workshop long before computers had been in use. With the development of digitisation, it also began to be used to determine selected soil attributes, which was greatly facilitated by GIS applications. A significant breakthrough in the importance of terrain attributes in the creation of soil maps and models took place with the formalisation of rules for digital soil mapping. Literature describes over 50 indices, although only a few of them are commonly applied. This applies to single soil attributes as well as more advanced implementations in more sophisticated models such as artificial intelligence algorithms. The aim of the following article is to present the main components of DSM and to describe characteristics of the most commonly derivatives of DTM applied there, also refers to several examples of the use of terrain parameters in the context of DSM in terms of the resolution of the elevation model used.

Opis:
Value Stream Mapping has been a key Lean tool since its publication in 1988, offering a strategic view on the reconfiguration of an organization’s processes to reduce overall lead time. It has since been used in many different domains beyond (car) manufacturing. However, the potential offered by its concise representation of both material flow and its controlling information flow seems to have been largely underused. Most literature reports on VSM in the context of waste detection and local improvements. VSM also supports redesigning the material flow (even on a supply chain level) towards (pure) pull systems. However, it fails to adequately give guidance on how to gradually evolve towards this ultimate ideal state. This paper wants to offer a significant contribution to practitioners on how to use VSM to bridge this gap. Another key challenge that remains largely unpublished is how to adapt the planning systems accordingly at each reconfiguration of the material flow. This paper presents extensions to the basic VSM tool to meet these challenges. It includes a more comprehensive 5-level hierarchy that allows to position most lean flow-related techniques. It also extends the basic “door-to-door” VSM with new symbols to accommodate these techniques into the map. Finally, it introduces a new set of 13 questions to support redesigning not only the material flow, but also the information flow. The resulting richer future state maps better support the gradual evolution towards a leaner future shop floor, as illustrated with an example.

Among many various cartographic visualization methods thematic maps are definitely standing out. One of them are cartogrammic mapping techniques, which are used to depict statistical surface with areal signs. Some phenomenon average intensity in spatial units boundaries they show. Two cartogrammic mapping techniques: choropleth and dasymetric mapping in the paper are discussed. Using cartogrammic methods numerical values either in discrete or continuous manner is shown. Usually cartogrammic techniques are used to present relative values, what is a simple consequence of being presented in reference to spatial units boundaries. In the paper the fact, that diversified reference units size can lead to distorted map perception is mentioned, what makes the reference units choice as one of the most essential problems. Apart from that some other problems that can influence the choropleth maps creation correctness are shown, among them rating ranges and color scale choosing. In the paper some analytic, graphic and iterative range constructing methods are presented. Also some choropleth mapping disadvantages are discussed, which the dasymetric mapping is decreasing. Several dasymetric techniques are described as well. Treating dasymetric method as one of the areal interpolation problems, especially in American literature, is mentioned.

Introduction: Identifying cooperation in team games is a difficult process to implement. Thanks to the development of methods and techniques of game observation, it is possible to reliably and accurately identify and evaluate the actions of players. The collections of various analyzes are used to create pragmatic game models. There are several types of such models. The paper presents models representing effective cooperation in the game on the example of volleyball. Aim of the study: The aim of the study was to identify mapping models of effective cooperation in the game, in the game positioning phase - in the element of receiving-passing the ball (serves). The second goal was to present the differences and similarities between observed teams. Material and methods: The work uses a method called qualitative study of unique cases, the research material consists of the four highest-ranked teams from Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games. Results: Four different models of cooperation in receiving-passing the ball (serve) were identified. Each of them contains characteristic features visible in the figures. Conclusions: Various models of cooperation have been identified. Each team has a specific model of receiving-passing the ball (serve) due to the spatial flexibility. The models presented in the paper are effective because they show the cooperation of the best teams in the world.

The results of the study showed a statistically significant difference between the two groups in achievement test scores and attitudes, in favor of the experimental group attributed to using electronic mind mapping.

Background: Integrating value-oriented perspectives into the principles and practices of software engineering is fundamental to ensure that software development activities address key stakeholders’ views and also balance short-and long-term goals. This is put forward in the discipline of value-based software engineering (VBSE) Aim: This study aims to provide an overview of VBSE with respect to the research efforts that have been put into VBSE. Method: We conducted a systematic mapping study to classify evidence on value definitions, studies’ quality, VBSE principles and practices, research topics, methods, types, contribution facets, and publication venues. Results: From 143 studies we found that the term “value” has not been clearly defined in many studies. VB Requirements Engineering and VB Planning and Control were the two principles mostly investigated, whereas VB Risk Management and VB People Management were the least researched. Most studies showed very good reporting and relevance quality, acceptable credibility, but poor in rigour. Main research topic was Software Requirements and case study research was the method used the most. The majority of studies contribute towards methods and processes, while very few studies have proposed metrics and tools. Conclusion: We highlighted the research gaps and implications for research and practice to support VBSE.

Applications of geophysical mapping to structural geology, prospecting and environment protection purposes are presented. Both classic and more advanced geophysical methods can be employed to enhance either regional, semi-detailed or detailed mapping of geological structures. In the case of regional and semi-detailed studies, gravity and magnetotelluric methods are supplementary to seismic, especially where significant screening and attenuating of seismic waves occur. Detailed investigations of environmental protection issues might include a wide range of geophysical methods, but in the case of investigation of groundwater pollution usually resistivity methods are applied. Examples of geophysical works performed by the PBG Geophysical Exploration Company illustrate these applications.

The role of conceptual integration and simple dynamic scenarios in the meaning construction of the mapping in mathematicsOver the last two decades the impact of conceptual metaphor and conceptual blending on mathematics has been extensively researched (Lakoff & Núñez, 2000; Fauconnier & Turner, 2002; Turner, 2005; Núñez, 2006; Alexander, 2011; Turner, 2012; Danesi, 2016; Woźny, 2018). This paper examines the manner in which simple dynamic scenarios allow, through the process of conceptual integration, for multiple ways of constructing the meaning of a mathematical mapping. The paper analyses selected fragments extracted from two popular academic mathematics textbooks to ascertain how the authors use a number of simple dynamic scenarios to explain the concept. The paper then demonstrates how these dynamic scenarios help to avoid the problem of circularity of the (static) formal definition of the mapping. The results of the study indicate that conceptual blending may account for the flexibility of mathematics and its effectiveness in modelling the world around us.

Providing avalanche-threatened areas with modern thematic data mapping is an urgent task. It will allow us to predict and prevent catastrophic consequences of snow avalanches. The purpose of this paper is to create a set of thematic raster maps of Polonyna Borzhava mountain ridge, including a physical map, a map of relative avalanche hazards, and a map of avalanche paths, on the basis of analysing certain morphometric and environmental factors. Modelling and analysing morphometric parameters of the ridge surface were implemented, and they were represented as factors of avalanche occurrence. The areas with consistent snow avalanche occurrence in the Polonyna Borzhava mountain ridge were allocated by combining cartographic material, remote sensing data, statistical meteorological data and some geomorphometric data about the surface in one unified geographic information system. Thematic mapping of snow avalanches of Polonyna Borzhava ridge has been implemented in the scale of 1:50000. The resulting thematic maps can be used when developing winter tourist routes.

The migration of the moving dangerous chemicals in soil-water systems represents significant risk to public health and environment. At the present time there is growing scientific concern about the available predicting procedures for environmental assessment of contaminated sites and chemical spills. After considering the various approaches and geodata that may be involved, the stagnate zones model was recognized. The key problem to be considered here deals with the surface concentration distribution, risk evaluation and allowable residue levels for chemicals. It is possible to make forecast and ecology monitoring based on the proposed mathematical model with tabulated migration parameters of the contaminants and soils. The considered method can complement experimental work on the contaminated sites and assist with soil-geochemistry mapping.

Opis:
The paper deals with the conformal mapping of a plane, finite, simply connected domain, representing the southern segment of the Gulf of Gdańsk, enclosed from the North by a parallel, tangential to Cape Rozewie. The segment contains the Hel Peninsula. The method of double decomposition, presented in Prosnak & Cześnik (2001), is applied to the transformation of such an original domain onto a canonical one, which consists of two separate unit discs. The first decomposition concerns the domain which is split into two adjacent subdomains by means of a segment of a straight line. The second decomposition involves two holomorphic functions, each one mapping a subdomain onto a separate disc. The decomposition consists in replacing the function by a sequence of simple ones, so that the mapping is performed step-wise. Each sequence starts with the Schwarz-Christoffel function, the last step consisting in an inversion that transforms an infinite circular domain onto a disc. The data for the problem is contained in the Annex, and is represented by two sets of rectangular coordinates defining consecutive discrete points of the contours bounding the subdomains. The solution to the problem consists of:
– two sets of functions, consecutively transforming each of the subdomains;
– the numerical values of the parameters of these functions;
– a set of figures illustrating the consecutive transformations. The accuracy of the first, and of the penultimate transformation are given, because only in the case of these two functions do the unknown coefficients have to be determined by means of a suitable iterative process. The coefficients of all the remaining functions are evaluated from exact formulae. It should be recalled that the depth of the Gulf of Gdańsk varies considerably – from a few to 110 metres – the gradients of the bottom being rather large. Therefore, the domain of the solution for any mathematical problem describing the hydrodynamical phenomena occurring in the Gulf is usually taken to be three-dimensional. Nevertheless, the paper deals with the transformation of the free surface of the Gulf, assumed as plane. It should be emphasized that this assumption does not mean that the whole domain of the solution has to be regarded as plane.

The article focuses on the practices relevant for digital mapping based on dynamic data processing and GIS. I argue that participatory mapping can be seen as a form of data driven activism and as such it is first and foremost the example of the collective knowledge. Hence, the primary function of the images (e.g. maps) produced in the process is not so much the representation of the city as rather it is the role they play in the dynamic operations of knowledge production on a grassroots level. Given that the computing technology and data processing saturate the social relations of the contemporary urban environments to the considerable extent, certain shift in the scope of analysis is required: the focus on how the images emerge and how they act in the world seems to be more relevant than the traditional analysis of the city’s visual representation.

The presented work deals with the spread of viticulture and fruit farming in the Middle Ages in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region in Georgia. The current state of the farming sectors mentioned and those pivotal moments in Georgian history that had an influence on agriculture are also considered in the article. The changes that determined the viticulture geography from the second part of the 16th century up to the present day are also discussed. The study is mainly based on the census document created in 1574. The article represents the geographic distribution patterns of vineyards and orchards, as well as wine production capacity and the fruit harvest. Retrospective mapping made it possible to restore the distribution of farms and gardens of the mentioned period and to analyse the importance of viticulture and fruit farming in the 16th century. The maps represented show spatial patterns of vineyards, gardens, and main terroirs.

Multivariate mapping is a technique in which multivariate data are encoded into a single map. A variety of design solutions for multivariate mapping refers to the number of phenomena mapped, the map type, and the visual variables applied. Unlike other authors who have mainly evaluated bivariate maps, in our empirical study we compared three solutions when mapping four variables: two types of multivariate maps (intrinsic and extrinsic) and a simple univariate alternative (serving as a baseline). We analysed usability performance metrics (answer time, answer accuracy, subjective rating of task dificulty) and eye-tracking data. The results suggested that experts used all the tested maps with similar results for answer time and accuracy, even when using four-variable intrinsic maps, which is considered to be a challenging solution. However, eye-tracking data provided more nuances in relation to the diference in cognitive efort evoked by the tested maps across task types.

Mapping − a modern art of architectural illumination is fascinated for many observers. Widely used model of visual perception (Müllers model, from 1834), seems to be very simple and easy to understand, but unfortunately is not enough to explain this phenomenon. More advanced models, supplemented by the theory of Umwelt (by Uexküll) give a satisfactory explanation. In our Umwelt there are no large-scale, rapidly changing phenomena, and if they occur, they herald a threat. The mind of mapping's observer, is in the state of emotional swing and therefore persuasive message, goes directly to the subconscious mind, and it is not critically analyzed by the cerebral cortex. Hence the mapping seems to be a perfect medium for persuasive advertising, addressed to the unconscious mind.

Częściowo, w czasie terenowych prac kartograficznych nad Szczegółową mapą geologiczną Polski, 1:50 000 i zestawczych nad Mapą geologiczno-gospodarczą Polski, 1:50 000 wyróżniono i opisano szereg nowych geostanowisk różnego wieku w środkowej i wschodniej Polsce, na Wyżynie Krakowskiej, w polskich Sudetach, w Karpatach i w Górach Świętokrzyskich z basenem Nidy.

Opis:
Software and digital visual mapping tools have recently been implemented by educators and academics for several educational and related purposes. The current study was set out to explore the effect of using CAAM on Thai EFL learners’ argumentative writing performance and their self-regulation of learning awareness. A total of 28 freshman students were purposively selected as the subjects of the study. The researcher used a mixed-mode method type of research involving a pre- and post-test design. Data was collected from a single group of participants who participated in eight sessions based on the use of CAAM in their writing processes. A Self-Regulation of Learning Scale (SRS) was utilized to identify the students’ awareness of their self-regulation of learning. The results reveal that the CAAM method used by the respondents made noteworthy gains on their argumentative writing performance across task achievement, coherence-cohesion, lexical resource and grammatical range and accuracy, as indicated by a significant difference between their pre- and post- test results. Furthermore, four out of six components of SRS reveal a significant relationship with their writing performance indicative that the respondents have become more cognizant of their self-regulation in terms of planning, self-monitoring, effort and self-efficacy. Finally, qualitative findings reveal that the respondents had positive feelings about using CAAM in their writing processes as well as enhanced their awareness on their self-regulation of learning.

Opis:
Basing on recent studies with the use of hyperspectral data and on the results of vegetation characteristics comparison, it was assumed, that hyperspectral airborne images allow for identification and monitoring of chosen plant species in high mountain environment. Algorithms based on spectral mixture models give the possibility of describing pixel value as an aggregation of individual spectral responses. This helps in assessing percentage of each species cover in the plant community. Main aim of this study was the continuation of previous studies on identification of spectral characteristics of high mountain plant species, with the view of creating local spectral library of those species. Furthermore, a method of automatic identification and mapping of high mountain vegetation should be developed. The study involved analysis of 5 species: Luzula spadicea, Juncus trifidus, Calamagrostis villiosa, Deschampsia fl exuosa and Nardus stricta, and was conducted in Gąsienicowa Valley in Tatra National Park in Poland. For the assessment of possibilities of high mountain plant species identification and mapping, airborne hyperspectral images from DAIS 7915 scanner were used. Field measurements, used as a reference for airborne data, were taken with the use of GER 3700 and ASD FieldSpec spectrometers in 13 measurement locations. They were also used for analysis of spectral reflectance differences between the species. Identification and mapping of plant species were realized using 4 different classification methods, of which Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM) method gave the best results. The results were compared to test data for accuracy assessment.
