Opis:
The paper presents a study on concept of ultra-light vehicle created by innovatory technology with laminate panels what provided low weight of self-supporting body and in consequences low vehicle weight. The usage of panels with aluminum honeycomb core and glass fiber based skins allows creating large flat surfaces for interior and vehicle body without any additional treatment. Glued panels with aluminium core make closed, rigid structure of self-supporting body with relatively low weight. Independent suspension system which components are made of carbon fiber also guarantees low weight. Vehicle is powered by two electric motors BLDC type with power of 2 kW each, and they are placed in rear wheels. Low vehicle weight has important meaning, particularly for electric vehicles and its range. Presented vehicle belongs to L6-e category and does not require any licenses for driving. The vehicle is dedicated for disable people on wheel chairs. The fundamental problem for disable people on wheelchairs is getting inside a vehicle without any help. Proposed solution at the conceptual vehicle allows for getting the wheel chair inside the vehicle by the use of lower part of the rear door and the wheel chair play a role of the vehicle seat. Such solution also makes that the level of physical disability has no influence on auxiliary devices used for vehicle driving.

Opis:
One of the most important and commonly used means of transport in the armed forces of various countries is wheeled armoured personnel carriers. After proper preparation, beside transport tasks, they can carry out special tasks, as part of regular and irregular activities within purpose of supporting actions of troops. This paper presents preliminary results of numerical research of wheeled armoured personnel carrier with 8x8-drive system. The effect of impact of large calibre cannon (120 mm) with reduced recoil force on transporter behaviour was investigated. The research object model consists of shell, solid and discrete elements. The research was carried out in the LS-DYNA software. Considered variant applies to sideways firing (to the left of the vehicle) for cannon elevation angle 16 deg. Numerical model of standing still on the flat ground wheeled armoured personnel carrier was preloaded with the gravitational force. The results of post-firing vehicle behaviour including angular displacement of the hull, dynamic deflections of the suspensions and impact on the stability of the wheeled vehicle were evaluated.

Various intelligent transportation systems are proposed in different forms of wireless communication technologies. Recently, the importance of visible light communication and free-space optics has been demonstrated in accomplishing vehicle-to-vehicle and infrastructure-to-vehicle communication systems, due to power efficiency, free licenses, and safety for human health. In this paper, a new hybrid relay system supported by free-space optics/visible light communication with two scenarios is proposed. The first one is that the data are transferred from the source to the relay through a free-space optics communication link and are then directed to the destination through a visible light communication link. The second scenario is that the data are transmitted from the source to the destination passing through two different relays to ensure larger coverage. A 10‾⁶ bit error rate is achieved at a distance of 900 m for the first scenario with a remarkable signal-to-noise ratio of ~25.5 dB, while the largest distance that can be covered by the second scenario is 1200 m with a signalto- noise ratio of ~30 dB.

The paper presents experimental validation of numerical flow analysis around tracked amphibious military vehicle. The aim of the study was to validate the simulation results and visualize the flow around optimized geometry To perform numerical simulations, a Computational Fluid Dynamics code FLUENT was used. The software is dedicated to model flow, turbulence, heat transfer, and reactions. The area was divided into two domains – air and water. During the simulation, water was moving with speed specified in standardization. However the numerical techniques are constantly developed and improved there is still a strong need for verification especially in buoyancy analysis and water performance evaluation. Results showed quite good agreement with literature after some modifications of the model. Then the flow was numerically visualized. That allowed in-depth analysis of the flow around each of vehicle's parts and some major and minor modifications were proposed. Modified geometry was analyzed and obtained results will be compared with previous ones. Additional stability and manoeuvrability tests were conducted. The results will be used to modify the geometry of vehicle and conduct experimental tests to verify the numerical code performance and check the actual change in vehicle's water performance. Future work will also consider propeller influence on results.

Opis:
Selected experimental research results of truck tire in steady-state side cornering and transient cornering conditions are presented in this paper. Experimental research results of the tire have been used in simulation research of medium duty truck in nonlinear driving conditions. The paper presents the structure of the vehicle dynamics model and a description of applied tire-road interaction model. Simulation research of the vehicle lateral dynamics has been performed in two variants: without and with the model of tire relaxation. During research, the tire relaxation length has been also changed. The steering wheel angle changes were forced as continuous sinusoidal excitation signal with a constant amplitude and with continuously increasing frequency. There have been analysed basic physical quantities characterizing the vehicle lateral dynamics connected with the vehicle active safety, especially including body yaw velocity and lateral acceleration in the centre of the truck body mass. An analysis of research results have been performed in the time and frequency domain. Time courses of analysed physical quantities and their frequency spectrum, obtained for tire-road interaction model without and with the tire relaxation (with different values of relaxation length) have been compared. Based on the simulation research results there have been considered the influence of tire relaxation on the vehicle performance. There have been shown that the tire relaxation can significantly change courses of observed physical quantities connected with vehicle lateral dynamics connected with vehicle driving safety.

Transport pertains to all functional areas of the State’s activities on every administrative level. Road transport is a very important branch of global economy and constitutes a part of the logistics network. It pertains to the transportation of cargo, items, and people. Cooperation between the branches of civilian transportation and military logistics must be the focus of continuous improvement efforts. Enhancements in this respect can serve to avoid possible failures and disruptions. The quality and availability of infrastructure plays a significant role, not only with respect to civilian, but also military assets. The condition of the vehicle is important for the safety of road transport. The provision of transport services in a military unit should mainly rely on military-civilian cooperation and effective communications. The condition of the means of transportation has been indicated as a factor influencing transport safety. Employing new technology and solutions enables constant improvements to the diagnostic system, broadening the knowledge and enhancing the skills of the motor vehicle driver in terms of proficiency in operating and maintaining the vehicle used.

The paper indicated the results of the vehicle motion trajectory calculations determined on the basis of the recorded waveforms of the acceleration vector and angular velocity components during the double lane change maneuver, taking into account the errors of acceleration sensors reset (zeroing). For the sake of simplicity, it was assumed that the zeroing errors apply only to the linear acceleration sensors, while the angular velocity sensors show exact values at the time t = 0 s (when starting the double lane change maneuver). During the analysis of the results of the experimental research, the vehicle kinematics model was used, in which right-handed coordinate systems were used: global and two local coordinate systems. The differences in the results of the calculations were determined and possible causes of these differences were indicated. The test results indicate that special attention should be paid to zeroing the acceleration sensors, in particular the ay component.

The road safety is affected by several factors quality of infrastructure, behaviour of drivers, including their proper training and also safe cars. For the safety of vehicles in the approving process a number of regulations (regulatory acts) apply, regulating the technical requirements in the active and passive vehicle safety, but also in the environment. In the area of technical requirements for vehicles and their parts significant changes occur constantly, mainly due the progressive technological developments. A large number of regulatory acts are often changed due to the tightening. These regulatory acts relates directly to manufacturers, because their manufactured vehicles have to meet these requirements. That these regulatory instruments are evolving in the right direction proved the fact that due to better road safety the number of fatal accidents in the last two decades shrunk, although the volume of traffic has tripled. A significant progress has been achieved only through the improved vehicle safety and only in a small measure thanks to the improvement and upgrading of the infrastructure.

Opis:
An Intelligent transportation system (ITS) focuses on application of smart vehicles. The vehicles are equipped with significant computing, communicating and sensing capabilities to provide services to travelers or the goal of providing safety massages in emergency situations. Vehicular network may also be used for Internet access, inter-passengers communications and entertainment. To understand the behavior of such networks as well as to provide good services to the travelers many issues have to be managed, some of them are: call handover between vehicles in vehicular network, speed Vs capacity, security of call, network topology, and network fragmentation. In this paper we study such vehicular networks and explain these issues and the related work. Detailed study of practical node mobility models based on mobility states and the quality of practical links based on received signal strengths are used as inputs for system capacity studies. Experiments were run in Sydney based on drive tests with mobile terminals deployed on them. Then some new ideas for managing the vehicular networks are proposed.

The aim of the article is focused on assessing the degree of end-of-life for the vehicle front suspension beam. The first stage of the problem taken was represented by a road test of the vehicle at distance expressed by 100.000 km. Following the end of the operation tests, the suspension beam was dismantled and subjected to laboratory tests. The tests demonstrated numerous beam top layer plastic deformations, which came into being as a result of the vehicle driving onto an obstacle on the roadway or onto raised road infrastructure elements. At the point of connection of the stabiliser rod to the beam, surface degradation was noted, which consisted in the considerable change of the surface profile, hardness reduction and the grey and dark brown colour. Corrosion regions and fretting wear traces were noted. Corrosion pits, scratches and material build-ups was observed. The analysis of the chemical composition of wear products demonstrated the presence of elements such as iron, oxygen, chlorine and silicon, as an effect of operational conditions.

Opis:
Process of designing of vehicle suspension as a combination of springs and dampers is a very complicated task. In general it requires designing system respecting good ride comfort and good handling at the same time. It is obvious that these two aspects are dependent also of the type of the road on which vehicle is riding. Especially it is important in city buses which are workplaces for bus drivers and each day are transporting thousands of people. Bus suspension system is quite different from car suspension. Because of the mass and size instead of traditional springs, pneumatics springs are used. In some cases, values of damping and stiffness of the spring are adjusted to the proper road in a real bus while driving. It is necessary nowadays to have a virtual assessment that can simulate "bus suspension behaviour" to abstracted suspension parameters such as springs and dampers characteristics. In this paper a multibody model of city bus suspension has been presented. Multibody models are the best way of simulation of dynamic behaviour of the vehicle. Simulations showing how different types of the road affect the structure of the vehicle have been performed. Such prepared model can be then use as an input for optimization of the bus suspension in terms of ride comfort, handling, or even passengers' safety.

For short distance (neighborhood) city transport of people, electric driven vehicle with advanced energy storage and electronic control system could assure fulfill essential requirements. range, acceleration ability and grade ability of electric driven small size city vehicle depend on: total vehicle mass, energy storage type and size, vehicle exploitation conditions (motorway, city traffic). Energy storage type and size optimization and full utilization of regenerative braking system leads to significant amount energy saving. Regenerative braking is particularly important in city traffic, where a lot of acceleration/braking cycles occur. Advanced secondary energy source consist of electrochemical battery and stack of supercapacitors. Using supercapacitors as an additional energy source makes it possible to improve battery life cycle and simultaneously to decrease the exploitation costs of electric vehicle. Short charging and discharging times of supercapacitors give ability to quick accept large amount of energy. In order to cooperate with batteries, a power electronic converter is necessary. Knowledge of vehicle energetic parameters could be obtained by model based simulation than verified by research testing. To estimating the energy consumption, energy recovery, range, acceleration and grade ability, simulation in MATLAB environment has been performed applying special low speed vehicle drive cycle based on ECE-15 driving cycle. The work presents the fragments of research on the dynamic loads acting on selected military vehicles. Designing new armoured vehicles or introducing modifications is preceded by model tests carried out under various conditions, analysing the effect of dynamic loads which may result during the use of the vehicle, e.g. due to the roughness of the road, firing, IED explosions or the vehicle being hit by a shell. The main purpose of conducting model research and verifying their findings in experimental research is to improve the effectiveness and safety of operation of systems and installations of military vehicles, increase the dynamics of the movement, improve the protection and ensure that the crew is not killed. Among the used models of military vehicles, discrete models are applied, formulated in the adjusted Lagrange description, as well as the models based on the fine element method for highly nonlinear problems and forces acting for a very short time. Due to the unique selection of military equipment, the methods of calculation and analysis of model research (simulations) and experimental research presented in the work are considered qualitative rather than quantitative.

Opis:
Electrical vehicles have the ability to partially recover some kinetic energy during braking. Kinetic energy is transformed into electric energy, which is fed to the battery by the control system and stored there for further use. The aim of this paper was to analyse the levels of energy recovered by an electric vehicle during braking at various speeds and with different braking intensities. The first phase of testing consisted of vehicle braking tests in real-life conditions. The registered speed profiles were then used as input data for the simulation software. The authors have also analysed the effect of the state of charge of the battery and of the vehicle’s load on the amount of energy recovered during braking. The performed simulation tests demonstrated that the level of recovered energy is significantly affected by the initial braking speed and by the force of pressure applied to the brake pedal. The amount of recovered energy is less affected by the state of charge (SOC) of the battery and by the vehicle’s load. Energy regeneration during braking is currently an important research topic. The efficiency of an electric vehicle depends on the range, which can be extended thanks to the additional energy recovered during braking maneuvers. The presented preliminary simulation results are intended to assess the level of energy recovery in electric vehicles. In the article were compared the vehicles (by pairing) the vehicles on the basis of selected criteria considering vehicles’: weight, length, wheel width, maximum output and acceleration time. The article was carried out by analysing the available source materials and specific energy mix based on coal. The emission of air pollutants (exhaustive) was estimated using the mathematical calculation. In order to carry out the analysis, the data provided by the manufacturers of the considered cars were used, concerning fuel consumption by the cars equipped with the internal combustion engines or electricity consumption in the case of cars with equipped with electric motors. The air pollutants that were taken into consideration: carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide, carbon dioxide, and total particulate matter. Apart from the exhaustive emissions, the total particular matter emissions from the tyre and brake wear and road abrasion is also included. The pollutant emission was estimated on the basis of emission factors using the average mileage characterizing for driving in European conditions.

Ujednoliceniu niektórych pojęć służy klasyfikacja SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), choć i ona nie jest jednoznaczna (stopień autonomizacji podzielono na pięć poziomów).

Currently, the majority of cargo transported by multi-axle long and heavy-haul motor vehicles, most of which have possibility of front axle wheels are steering only. In the case of performing the obstacle avoidance maneuver, the overtaking maneuver or the parking maneuver, they are a significant difficulty for the driver because of the width of the occupied road lane when the vehicle moves on the road curve, lane which is wider than greater is the front wheels steering angle and greater overall vehicle length. The occurrence of the ofexcessive lateral tire slip phenomenon when driving on curved road trach is the cause of accelerated wear of tire tread, which together with a large number of wheels would lead to higher operational costs ofsuch vehicles. This work using a spatial dynamic model of the vehicle consisting of a two-axle tractor and three-axle trailer with many degrees of freedom, with the possibility of all the wheels steering, moving on a road curve, is a qualitative analysis of the wheels steering problem aimed at the avoidance ofslip in the pneumatic tire - road surface coactions area. The model of coactions of pneumatic tire with the road surface, side drift included, together with accounting the phenomenon of asymmetrical loading of the vehicle chassis and drive train was adopted. Control for all the wheels steering should lead to an overlay or the maximum approximation of the front axle wheel tracks with the rear axles wheel tracks for the of articulated long-haul truck assembly moving on the road curve. The solution of model eąuations of motion for the vehicle considered will allow for the definition of the relationship between the front axle and rear axle wheels steering angles and velocity of movement of the mass centre of articulated haul truck assembly for the given set of design and operating parameters. The designation of the vehicle track will be possible.

Presented paper discusses two different nonlinear approaches to precrash velocity determination for vehicles from Intermediate Car Class. Data that was used to perform analyses introduced in this paper was taken from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) database. Such database is comprised of substantial number of crash cases and main focus was put on frontal impacts. Hitherto used energy methods are based on linear model which proves to be inaccurate and producing significant errors. Presented considerations concern the inverse system and tensor product of Legendre polynomials. The focus of those methods is to establish the value of nonlinear coefficient bk which is the slope factor of precrash velocity Vt and deformation ratio Cs function.

The work presents selected results of experimental research on special purpose vehicles used on military training grounds, and bench tests of their main structural elements. The results are connected mainly with identifying the main vibration parameters of those vehicles (regarding weight, resilience and damping), and with the assessment of the level of dynamic loads. The more output data experimental research provides, the more input data we have for designing models. Determined in laboratory tests, weight parameters (regarding weight and moments of inertia), coefficients of stiffness and damping, as well as selected resilience and damping characteristics, are applied in the process of creating the numerical models of assemblies, systems, and complete vehicles. The numerical models created are subject to full verification in order to minimize the differences between the real objects and their representations. The models are applied in multivariate simulation tests of the existing design solutions, upgrading them, or creating new designs. Due to a certain sensitivity of the range of special purpose vehicles, the results of experimental tests and simulation analyses presented in the work are mainly qualitative rather than quantitative.

The article presents the characteristics of the Ryś and Irbis wheeled armored personnel carriers (Polish abbrev. KTO) designed in Poland. They constituted a deep modernization of the Czechoslovakian SKOT medium wheeled armored transporter. The paper presents the genesis of works on these vehicles and their main contractor, Military Automotive Works No. 5 in Poznań, which has dealt with repairs and modernization of combat vehicles since the 1950s. In the following part, the tactical and technical data of the basic version of the Ryś wheeled armored personnel carriers and special-purpose vehicles based on it are discussed, with particular attention paid to the versions that are of interest to the Ministry of National Defense. Next, the Irbis wheeled armored vehicle, and the special-purpose versions built on its chassis are characterized and presented to the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce.
W artykule zaprezentowana została charakterystyka opracowanych w Polsce transporterów opancerzonych Ryś i Irbis, które stanowiły głęboką modernizację konstrukcji czechosłowackiego transportera opancerzonego SKOT. Przedstawiono genezę prac nad tymi pojazdami oraz ich głównego wykonawcę Wojskowe Zakłady Motoryzacyjne nr 5 w Poznaniu, które zajmowały się remontami i modernizacją wozów bojowych już od lat pięćdziesiątych XX wieku. W dalszej części omówiono dane taktyczno-techniczne wersji podstawowej transportera opancerzonego Ryś oraz wozów specjalistycznych na jego bazie, ze szczególnym zwróceniem uwagi na wersje będące obiektem zainteresowania resortu Obrony Narodowej. Następnie scharakteryzowano transporter opancerzony Irbis i zbudowane na jego podwoziu odmiany specjalne, które zaprezentowano ma Międzynarodowym Salonie Przemysłu Obronnego w Kielcach.

Occupants protection during vehicle crash is one of the major problems considered at vehicle designing stage. The increasing safety as well as comfort requirements results in the total vehicle weight increase. On the other hand, higher mass influence on the fuel economy of vehicle. Thus, it is very important to maintain or even reduce vehicle weight. One of the solutions of this problem is application of a new materials having good strength-to-weight ratio i.e. high strength steels (HSS). They are often used in protective and energy absorbing structures in automotive industry. One of HSS so-called austenitic steels are characterized by excellent mechanical properties such as: high strength, strong strain, and strain rate hardening. Those mechanical effects are consequence of microstructural evolution during strong deformations i.e. twinning and phase transformation. As a consequence those steels are very good material for the purposes of energy absorbing and protective structures. This article presents the results of mechanical properties tests of VP159 austenitic steel. On the basis of experimental data, the JC constitutive model has been calibrated. The obtained results were used for the computer simulations of energy absorbing of square profiles made of analysed material. The results were compared with other types of steel.

In the paper were presented threats happen to special and transportation vehicles while task performing within the confines of peace forcing and keeping missions on world areas threatened by conflicts and that could be areas of unitfuture actions. Based on available materials and authors results of numerical and experimental tests, effects of various explosive charges action on special vehicles were presented. Such explosive charges could be used during fighting in urban and mountainous areas as well as other with limited area. Were presented directions of research and development leading to increase protection level for people, inside special and transportation vehicle, against combat agents characteristic for peace keeping and stabilization missions that could be used also while warfare. In the paper were presented numerical model of protection structure, which were worked out on the basis of the Finite Element Method. There are presented some results of experimental and modelling tests of after blast shock wave action on armoured shell and prepared protection structures for special and transportation vehicles. The maximum deformations of research objects and stress in construction were put. The comparisons of results for numerical and experimental researches were introduced. Protecting structure was loaded by shock wave pressure generated by hypothetical unconventional explosive charge (improvise explosive device or non-contact mine). In the paper were also made effort to point at possibility and necessity to choose the most effective parameters of structure for protected part of combat vehicle against potential threats.

The paper deals with the influence of active car safety systems on driver‘s behavior in emergency situations, i.e. emergency braking, steering angle, etc. Several models of real vehicles have been tested in order to analyse the ABS and ESP systems operation efficiency. The results of emergency braking and stability in real vehicle testing with ABS and ESP stability control systems switched on and off are presented in detail. In order to get the maximum impact of ABS and ESP systems (full activated) the real vehicles were tested on the asphalt paved road covered with wet snow. Tests were also carried out on the road sections with different pavement and state. The XL Meter Pro Beta measurement device was used for the real vehicle testing. The brakes and active safety systems of the vehicles have been tested for their effectiveness at different conditions: when the vehicle is braking on horizontal wet asphalt, and on an icy gravel surface, at a different initial running speed: 40km/h, 70 km/h and 100 km/h. During the real vehicle testing the stability during emergency braking resulted in the assessment of influence of active safety systems on handling the vehicle and its stability, and the driver's behaviour in emergency situations i.e. on a slippery road, or at sharp steering angle. The results of real vehicle testing have been presented in the paper in the form of charts. Examination of a vehicle emergency braking and stability systems results in the conclusions concerned with handling of the vehicle ad application of the above systems.

The autodriver algorithm was introduced as a path-following algorithm for autonomous vehicles, which uses road geometry data and planar vehicle dynamics. In this paper, the autodriver algorithm is improved according to practical implications, and a more realistic vehicle model (roll mode) is used, which considers roll degree of freedom in addition to a planar motion. A Ghost-Car path-following approach is introduced to define the desired location of the car at every instance. Key steady-state characteristics of turning vehicles, namely the curvature, yaw rate, and side-slip responses, are discussed and used to construct a feed-forward component of a path-following controller based on the autodriver algorithm. Feedback control loops are designed and applied to minimise transient errors between the road and vehicle positions. Finally, simulations are performed to analyse the pathfollowing performance of the proposed scheme. The results show promising performance of the controller both in terms of error minimisation and passenger comfort.

OBJECTIVES: Development of movement model of fighting tracked vehicle to study oscillatory processes that cause a dynamic load on the driver’s workplace and imitate real conditions of fighting tracked vehicle’s movement to develop technical requirements for dynamic simulators with the achievement of high degree of their compliance with the real vehicle. Research hypothesis. Use of the improved mobility platform of dynamic simulators, realizing the conditions as close as possible to conditions of driving a real fighting tracked vehicle. METHODS: The presented views are the result of empirical research based on the general scheme of forces acting on a fighting tracked vehicle and allow to theoretically estimate the dynamic load of mechanic-driver's workplace. RESULTS: In the study, the author developed an improved model of the movement of a fighting tracked vehicle, which describes the spatial movement of its body in motion on the support surface of a complex profile and allows to estimate theoretically the dynamic workload of the driver’s workplace, which provides a basic design of a dynamic platform in six degrees of freedom and will provide to develop the requirements for the modernization of dynamic simulators. CONCLUSIONS: When performing combat tasks mechanic-driver of FTV is exposed to the effects of spatial movements of different nature. The mechanic-driver during the movement of FTV feels a wide range of influences that are caused by the interaction of the tracked running gear (TRG) with the bearing surface and change the direction of movement of FTV.

Some results of research devoted to the modeling of a AUV-Stealth vehicle performance towards limiting its hydro-acoustic field are presented in the paper. At the beginning the AUV-Stealth autonomous underwater vehicle concept is described. Then the method of research is introduced. Next the key design drivers of the AUV-Stealth vehicle are presented. Between them are the AUV-Stealth hull form, arrangement of internal spaces, materials, hull covers, energy supply and propulsion system, etc. Some results of the hydrodynamic and stealth characteristics of the AUV-Stealth vehicle are briefly described. It is presented in the paper that the hull form, construction materials including the covers may affect the AUV-Stealth vehicle boundary layer and wake. This may create some problems of identification of the AUV-Stealth vehicle using a sonar or hydrophone. The final conclusions are presented.

Recently, the topic of energy dissipation efficiency of vehicle suspension dampers has become a research and engineering problem due to structural requirements of vehicle manufacturers and the introduction of electric/hybrid cars. By principle, any disturbances in the damping force generation process translate into pressure fluctuations to be then transferred to the body of the vehicle. The effect known as rattling within the damper engineering community is perceived as detrimental to ride comfort. To improve the performance of a vehicle damper several methods can be devised and used. One approach is to optimize the settings of the valves in the damper. The approach, however, often influences the force output of the damper. Another technique involves the application of add-on systems. One such system is the tuned mass damper concept originally developed by Frahm for structural engineering applications. In the paper the author proposes a damper concept equipped with an external/internal tuned mass damper component for improving the dynamic characteristics of vehicle dampers. The author presents modeling details followed by simulations of the damper with the tuned mass damper concept subjected to oscillatory inputs, and a critical analysis of the presented results.

This study is a case study based on Softlogic Retail (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka, which is a famous consumer electronics company and market leader in Sri Lanka. This company’s outbound logistics have been considered in this research, and they are mainly forced into the redistribution process in Sri Lanka. Extra routing costs due to unreasonable consumption of additional distance have been noticed in the current redistribution process. Here, this problem is modeled as a variant of the vehicle routing problem with a heterogeneous vehicle fleet. Our objective is to minimize warehouse operation, administration, and transportation costs by imposing constraints on capacity and volume. The researchers propose new heuristic solutions to the problem. A proposed heuristic algorithm has been used to find the optimal path between clusters. The computational investigation highlights the cost savings that can be accrued by this new heuristic. The cost savings can be accrued at a rate of as much as 37.5 % compared to the company’s existing method.

W artykule przedstawiono studium wpływu zmienności obciążenia eksploatacyjnego pojazdów na rzeczywistą wartość bezwymiarowego współczynnika tłumienia zawieszenia oraz jego wpływ na zmiany charakterystyki zachowania się pojazdu w zakresie komfortu, jak i bezpieczeństwa w zakresie potencjału siły przyczepności. Pokazano wyniki analizy obliczeniowej dla zawieszenia o stałym współczynniku sztywności (zawieszenie o metalowych elementach sprężystych) oraz o stałej częstości drgań własnych (zawieszenie pneumatyczne o regulowanej wysokości). Analizę przeprowadzono dla samochodu osobowego oraz ciężarowego. Na podstawie uzyskanych wniosków zaproponowano koncepcję strategii adaptacyjnej regulacji tłumienia w zawieszeniu w zależności od aktualnego obciążenia pojazdu. Przedstawiono także wnioski co do zakresu zmienności charakterystyk tłumienia wynikających z potrzeb tej strategii regulacji tłumienia.
This paper presents the study of influence of vehicle load variations on actual value of damping ratio and its influence on changes in transmissibility's functions in area of comfort and safety. Transmissibility functions are presented for suspension with constant value of suspension stiffness coefficient and damping coefficient and also for suspension with constant value of bounce natural frequency and constant damping coefficient. Analysis was made for passenger and commercial vehicles. On the basis of this analysis some idea of control algorithm concerning in vehicle load is presented and the limits of necessary damping ratio levels.

Celem artykułu jest scharakteryzowanie obecnych oraz przyszłych sposobów prowadzenia działalności w przedsiębiorstwach wytwarzających pojazdy, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wpływu automatyzacji i autonomizacji transportu drogowego na modele biznesowe omawianych firm. Charakterystyczną cechą działalności przedsiębiorstw z branży motoryzacyjnej jest stały rozwój, dotyczący zarówno produktów, technologii ich wytwarzania, jak i organizacji całego procesu produkcyjnego. Wdrażanie przez producentów innowacyjnych technologii związanych ze zwiększeniem znaczenia automatyzacji pojazdów i możliwym upowszechnieniem mobilności autonomicznej skutkuje potrzebą przedefiniowania kluczowych czynników sukcesu oraz wprowadzenia zmian w stosowanych dotychczas modelach biznesowych. W artykule przedstawiono klasyczny model biznesowy przedsiębiorstwa z branży motoryzacyjnej. Na podstawie przyjętych założeń, związanych z wdrażaniem innowacyjnych technologii, omówiono możliwe przyszłe scenariusze funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw wytwarzających pojazdy. Wskazano możliwe kierunki zmian modeli biznesowych w związku z wprowadzaniem do produkcji pojazdów o coraz większym stopniu zautomatyzowania i pojazdów autonomicznych.
he article is aimed at characterizing the issues related to the current and future ways of operating in companies producing vehicles, with particular emphasis on the impact of the automation and autonomization of road transport on the business models of such a companies. A characteristic feature of the activities of enterprises from the automotive industry is constant development, concerning both products, their production technology, and the organization of the entire production process. Implementation by the manufacturers of innovative technologies related to the growing importance of vehicle automation and the possible dissemination of autonomous mobility results in the need to redefine the key success factors and introduce changes to the business models hitherto used. The article describes the classic business model of company from the automotive industry. Based on the adopted assumptions, related to the implementation of innovative technologies, determined were: the predicted scenarios for the future use of vehicles, scenarios for the future functioning of entities operating in the automotive industry, and possible variants of future business models in the enterprises in question in a situation of increasing importance of automation and vehicle autonomy.

This research aims at revealing the current status of the End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) recycling systems in the European Union (EU), Japan and China which are known to have big vehicle manufacturers. The purpose of this research is to clarify their characteristics and issues, such as existing ELV recycling policy, limitations of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and environmental problems caused by secondhand car export. Japanese ELV recycling system will be analyzed as a specific example. Automakers’ effort to improve ELV recycling rate and the potential influence on recycling policy from large secondhand car export and Next-Generation Vehicle’s (NGV) popularization in Japan will be discussed and generalized. In addition, interview investigation for vehicle makers and government agencies has been conducted to have a comparative analysis of stakeholders’ (mainly automakers) attitude towards current ELV recycling law and future plans which can support Next-Generation Vehicle recycling well, as well as cross-border environmental/international resources recycling problems caused by secondhand car export.

Article represent modern bridge on vehicle chassis MS-20 Daglezja - bridge span transported on special mobile transportation vehicle, where chassis, despite transportation, has opportunity to lay as well as to remove the span from site obstacle in very short time. Bridge allows rapid overcoming natural and artifical site obstacles of width up to 20m for Polish army and NATO vehicles, subject to impose a load less than 70MLC for trach laying vehicle, and HOMLC for wheeled vehicles. Vehicle has a lot of characteristic features. The MS20 vehicle bridge of cryptonym "Daglezja" with easiness can run in heavy terrain thanks to practical application of 12x12 wheel drive. Important is that vehicle can go public ways without of pilotage, mainly thanks to possibility to change span width for transport, and to fact that overall dimensions are not exceeding traffic regulations. In consequence of above MS-20 Daglezja is allowed to ride on public ways, creating possibility to fast reaction if need be. Bridge can be used in many situations, not only in combat, but for example in situation of cataclysm and sudden necessity to deliver food and clothes, or other goods for separated from world population.

Full electric (FEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles are promising, forward-looking technologies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and other pollution related to road transport. The powertrain of a FEV is composed of a battery, control electronics and the electric motors. A PHEV has much lower battery capacity but it contains an extra internal combustion engine and gearbox. Many argue that FEVs are more energy-efficient than internal combustion engines. However, this energy needs to be stored in heavy, large-capacity battery packs that require plenty of energy and resources to produce as well as highly polluting rare earth elements mining. In this article, an environmental comparison of FEVs and PHEVs is shown using life cycle assessment (LCA). To make the comparison realistic, two models similar in size and power have been selected: Volkswagen E-Golf FEV and Volkswagen GTE PHEV. Results show that the production of FEVs need more energy and it means more burden on the environment however during the use phase it causes less emissions. Since the local electricity production mix and, in case of PHEVs, the user behaviour highly affects the results, three different countries (Hungary, Poland and Norway) and two different use types are considered. The quantified environmental footprints as well as the break-even distances are presented. Sensitivity of the results towards the assumed conditions during the whole design lifetime of the vehicles is discussed.

Investigation scheme of the unmanned vehicle is shown in the paper. It is the unmanned vehicle planned to use in military application. Using the unmanned vehicles on modern war field is increasingly popular. The unmanned vehicle is powered with a hybrid propulsion system. The main source of energy is diesel engine and electric generator. It supplies the battery and six propulsion electric motors. In the propulsion system is a lot of components: controllers and electric devices. Is important to know how it works in load condition. Investigation stand was constructed to break all drive wheels. There will be done measuring of electric parameters of the hybrid propulsion system. Temperature of the battery and electric motors, fuel consumption of internal combustion engine needed to appreciate of load and energy balance will be measured as well. Investigation equipment which will be used during investigation is also performed in the paper.

The so-called car "black boxes " — ADR recorders have been available on automotive markets for many years. The task of those devices is to record Information on car motion, driver's behaviour, state of vehicle systems and neighbouring environment. The records are to allow for accident reconstruction. In general, the devices being proposed are a simplified version of devices that have been applied e.g. in aviation for a long time. The problem is how those simplifications may affect the accuracy of reconstructions being performed. The simulation method of this type of research has been presented in this paper. A proceeding diagram, mathematical models of car motion applied in the method, records of ADR devices, an algorithm for processing quantities, recorded in ADR, in order to obtain reconstructed velocities histories and trajectories of car motion have been illustrated. A special attention was paid to a mathematical description of readings of acceleration sensors of ADR devices. An example of the experimental method verification has been presented. Then, three computational examples have been presented that focused on evaluation of influence of a number of quantities, being recorded in the ADR device, deser ibing vehicle motion. It has been indicated that missing Information on some quantities in devices, typical nowadays in automotive sector, may essentially affect the accuracy of car motion reconstruction.

The article presents results of research work which aim was development of solution for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) removal from vehicle indoor air. VOCs, especially benzene, toluene, and xylene (BTX), are air pollutants responsible for many civilizational diseases because of its carcinogenic and mutagenic properties. Concentration of those substances can be even few times higher in micro atmosphere of vehicle cabin than in other indoor atmospheres [1]. The aim of the scientific cooperation between Dr. Schneider Automotive Polska and the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUST) is research on innovative (international range), product development – photocatalytic reactor characterized by Volatile Organic Compounds, especially BTX removal properties. The BTX reduction effectiveness, caused by photocatalytic reactor application in vehicle ventilation system, was subjected to in-depth analysis. The results showed difference on not only maximal benzene, toluene, and xylene reduction (separately) but also in the pattern of response surface. In some tested parameters, the hazardous compounds (as a BTX sum) were reduced for almost 70%. The photocatalytic reactor seems to be prospective solution for air quality improvement in any vehicle cabin.

W artykule przybliżono powstanie konceptu pojazdów księżycowych, przebieg badań nad ich konstruowaniem w latach 60. XX wieku oraz rezultat tych prac w postaci stworzenia Lunar Roving Vehicle, który został użyty w trzech ostatnich misjach Programu Apollo. Opisano proces budowy oraz konstrukcję LRV, a także jego znaczący wpływ na przebieg misji w których został użyty.
This article presents a history of Lunar Roving Vehicle which has been used in three final missions of Apollo Program. Article describes the beginning of lunar vehicle concepts in the early 1960s starting from Project Horizon and continued in further NASA projects and individual work of American companies, like e.g. Boeing Corporation or Benidx Corporation. It also describes methods of designing first lunar vehicle prototypes for space programs like e.g. Lunar Logistics Systems, Mobility Laboratory and Mobility Test Articles. In addition there is discussed process of defining requirements which will become a Lunar Roving Vehicle. The article also describes a designing process and problems that Rover met during creation. It contains a description of LRV various systems like mobility, electrical power supply and navigation subsytems. In the end of the paper there is a short summary of impact that LRV made for final Apollo missions in terms of travelled distance and amount of collected lunar samples. The article has been illustrated with various drawings and photos of early lunar vehicle concepts and LRV itself.

Increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements and the implementation of the most modern technologies compel automotive manufacturers to develop the production of environment-friendly vehicles with electric drive systems. In difficult road conditions, vehicle participants are exposed to various hazards, especially to health and life. This forced the Automotive Industry Institute (PIMOT) to attack the important problem named “Electric Vehicles’ Operational Safety (EVOS)”, which is related to a number of new issues, not sufficiently explored yet. The tests carried out until now on electric vehicles to check their conformity with the Regulations and Directives in force do not cover many issues that were identified within this project as having an important impact on vehicle riding safety and comfort. This work included the formulation and implementation of a three-level EVOS examination and assessment concept. This article presents results of comparative testing and assessment of the EVOS level for four electric vehicles, i.e. Mega E-City, Citroen C-Zero (Mitsubishi i-MiEV car manufactured by Citroen under a licence), Renault Fluence, and Opel Ampera. The presented results of testing the sample electric vehicles show how much the vehicles differ from each other and how much work still has to be done for improvement of the safety of their operation. Based on the work results, detailed EVOS assessment criteria may be prepared.
Wzrastające wymagania ochrony środowiska oraz wdrażanie najnowszych technologii powodują, że koncerny samochodowe rozwijają produkcję aut z napędem elektrycznym przyjaznych dla środowiska. Trudne warunki drogowe powodują, że kierowcy i pasażerowie pojazdów są narażeni na liczne zagrożenia, szczególnie ich zdrowia i życia. Spowodowało to konieczność podjęcia w PIMOT ważnego problemu Bezpieczeństwa Użytkowania Samochodów Elektrycznych (BUSE), w którym występują nowe dotychczas nierozpoznane zagadnienia. Dotychczas stosowane badania pojazdów EV na zgodność z Regulaminami lub Dyrektywami nie obejmują szeregu zagadnień, które zostały opracowane w trakcie wykonywania pracy a szczególnie wpływających na bezpieczeństwo i komfort jazdy. W pracy przedstawiono i zrealizowano trzystopniową koncepcję badań i oceny BUSE. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań porównawczych i ocenę BUSE czterech samochodów elektrycznych: Mega E-city, Citroen C-zero (licencja Mitsubishi iMiEV), Renault Fluence i Opel Ampera. Wyniki badań przedstawionych pojazdów EV wykazują jak bardzo te pojazdy różnią się między sobą i jak dużo jeszcze jest do zrobienia dla poprawy ich bezpieczeństwa użytkowania. Na podstawie wyników pracy mogą być opracowane szczegółowe kryteria BUSE.

Changes in the vehicle operation process, which take place with vehicle’s age, have been analysed on the grounds of data collected for over 3 000 motor trucks of more than 3 500 kg gross vehicle mass (GVM), being now in use in Poland. The analysis has covered a 20-year vehicle operation period (referred to as “service life planned”); the distance travelled by a vehicle during this period has been called “target mileage” (expressed in kilometres). As a measure of the intensity of vehicle operation, the “monthly mileage” has been adopted. The monthly mileage values specified in the article strongly depend on the category of engine cubic capacity. Some important characteristics of the mileage growth process, noticed in the recent years along with an intensive development of the road transport, have been presented. The vehicle mileage growth process has been shown for four categories of engine cubic capacity, on the grounds of regression lines based on a polynomial model. The vehicles with engines of more than 10 000 cm3 capacity reach more than 1/3 (i.e. 34.7-36.6%) of their target mileage for the first 60 months of operation, while covering only 2-5.3% of this target mileage during the last two years of their 20-year service life planned. During the first 5 years, the intensity of operation of vehicles belonging to this engine capacity category is four to five times as high as that determined for the last 5 years of the 20-year vehicle operation period under analysis. Calculations carried out have shown that the dataset under analysis includes vehicle categories where 90% of the target mileage is reached as early as after 69-70% of the service life planned. This shows that motor vehicles having been used for a short time predominate in the road transport of goods in Poland and that there is an interrelation between the rates of changes in the vehicle operation intensity and the engine capacity.

The paper presents the results of the conducted tests of torsional stiffness of the VOSCO S106 passenger car, as well as the validation process of these tests by means of numerical analyzes using the FEM finite element method. The most important element of the vehicle structure is the part of the spatial frame or the safety cage. Engine, brake system, fuel system and steering system, suspension as well as body and parts, their mounting nodes, hinges, locks, etc. are attached to the frame. The frame must therefore have adequate strength to protect the driver in the event of a tipover or impact. The frame is usually made of steel pipes with the prescribed dimensions and strength according to regulations. The torsional stiffness of the vehicle chassis has a significant influence on its driveability and therefore is an important parameter to measure. In this article, the torsional stiffness of the vehicle frame is calculated experimentally, which was then verified by finite element analysis (FEM) using the Altair HyperWorks program.

W pracy przeprowadzono analizę literaturową pod kątem identyfikacji czynników mających wpływ na opory toczenia kół pojazdów samochodowych. Przeanalizowano także zjawiska występujące w czasie użytkowania opon przy nieprawidłowym ciśnieniu ich pompowania. Przygotowano metodykę badań eksperymentalnych, których celem było wyznaczenie zależności między ciśnieniem w oponach pneumatycznych i wartością oporów toczenia kół pojazdów. Testom poddano 10 losowo wybranych pojazdów o różnych rodzajach kół pneumatycznych. Pomiary realizowano dla ciśnienia nominalnego i obniżonego o 10%, 20%, 30% i 40%, a także przy ciśnieniu podwyższonym o 10%. Wykonano wizualizację wyników zarejestrowanych w czasie badań i na ich podstawie wygenerowano równania opisujące zależność między ciśnieniem w oponach pneumatycznych i wartością oporów toczenia kół. Przeprowadzone analizy wykazały, że zmiany ciśnienia w oponach w przyjętym zakresie mogą wywołać zmianę oporów toczenia nawet o 25%. Opracowana w ten sposób baza wiedzy wykorzystana zostanie do budowy cyfrowych modeli pojazdów samochodowych.
A literature analysis to identify the variables affecting the rolling resistance of the car's tires has been carried out during works, also, phenomena occurring at the time of the tire usage with an incorrect pressure of the pumping. The experimental research methodology has been prepared. The aim of the research was to identify influence of the pressure in pneumatic wheels on the value of the rolling resistance of vehicle's tires. There was 10 randomly selected vehicles with different kinds of pneumatic wheels tested. The measurements were taken for the nominal pressure and pressure decreased by 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% and also for a pressure increased by 10%. The visualization of the results registered at the time of research has been created, and on those results' basis the equations have been generated describing the influences of pressure in pneumatic wheel on the rolling tire resistance. The analysis has shown that the changes in pressure of tires within the range in the research may cause changes in rolling tire resistance by up to 25%. The knowledge basis worked out in this way will be used to build digital car models.

For a few years, the sales of motor vehicles with hybrid drive systems (referred to as “hybrid vehicles” or “HVs”) have been rapidly growing. However, there is a lack of information about the intensity of operation of vehicles classified in this category, which is completely new. A calculation procedure has been presented that enabled evaluation of the HV mileage growth rate. An analysis of this rate provides grounds for forecasting the changes that are likely to take place in the fleet of motor vehicles, such as the progress in the process of replacement of conventional vehicles with vehicles with alternative drive systems, and this may be a basis for predicting the reduction in fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. Models of the HV mileage growth process have been defined for three different countries. They indicate high mileage growth rates in the initial period of vehicle operation, e.g. until the fourth year of operation of the Auris H cars. The highest mileage growth rates in this period were observed in the Netherlands and Poland. In Germany, this rate was lower by 41%. Significant differences in the intensity of vehicle operation have been observed between the behaviour of HV owners in the countries under analysis. A considerable drop in the annual HV mileage as early as in the fifth and sixth year of vehicle operation is an alarming signal.

The armedforces involvement in stabilization operations conducted either in Europe (Kosovo) or in Africa (Iraq) or in Asia (Afghanistan) caused uncovering of weak points of the used equipment which was not constructed for the purpose of partisan war. This fact resulted in equipment modernisation in the form of additional armouring and protection against mines and improvised explosive devise as well as in NATO adopting the standards determining the protection level assuring by the given vehicle. The most popular military standard in the scope of ballistic protection against the pressure wave coming from a mine or improvised explosive device detonation is standard NATO -STANAG 4569. This standard determines to a great degree also the charge size and position. Civil solutions are based not on the evaluation of the vehicle destruction level but on the evaluation of some parameters determining the injuries of the human moving in a vehicle which had an accident. These parameters will be used to evaluate the injuries of the human moving in a lightarmoured vehicular personnel carrier which is subjected to the influence of wave pressure wave coming from the detonation of a mine or improvised explosive device. The finite elements model of a dummy Hybrid III 95% Male and Ls-Dyna software will be used for this purpose. There will be considered the complex model in which there is not only a human and vehicle model but also a charge, air and ground.

A theory of cumulated fuel consumption in process ofvehicle operation is described. The method of creation the mathematical model and procedure of determination of model variables is shown. The mainfeatures of cumulated fuel consumption are painted attention. li is shown that the theory of cumulated fuel consumption can be use to description of the fuel consumption from beginning the exploitation of vehicles and also for the situation when the vehicle are in exploitation from any time and further fuel consumption are unknown. An example of utilisation of elaborated theory for assessment of operation of passenger car is also presented. It has been shown that applying the theory of cumulated fuel consumption, the course of such consumption can be accurately described also in this case. This proposal can be formulated in spite of making some simplifications. This is because the unknown value of the accumulated fuel before start the time of observation operation will be determined using the average (from the average) fuel consumption. This simplification greatly facilitates the flow of the calculations and it seems does not offend errors in the calculations. Method of determining the average is discussed in the article. It appears that such treatment may be justified by the fact that the mistake is, in principle, systematic error. Very high coefficients of mathematical model to fit the measured data are very interesting. Such regularity was observed during researches in buses transport [l], intercity buses, and the fleets of various vehicles (the results of researches are not yet published).The introduction of the theory of cumulated fuel consumption as one of the important parameters to assess the operation of the vehicle or vehicles may also be useful in exploitation researches. At present times the researches in which the vehicles are already in service and the engine control mops are tuned (chip tuning), are made. A good performance of these changes is often observed on chassis dyno but that is not properly sanctioned in natural exploitation. Experimentation with such issue is underway and will be the subject of future analysis (and publications).

The problem of vehicle's impact resistance is broadly discussed in many articles and standardizations concerning special structures. In this paper, the numerical analysis results of an armoured vehicle loaded with blast wave are presented. Effects of ground proximity such as wave reflection are also taken into account. What is more, the tracking system was also included in calculations. The ground was modelled using Mie-Grüneisen equation of state. In the research an ALE coupling algorithm was used to model interaction between fluid (Euler domain) and structure (Lagrange domain). Euler description is used for air and blast wave propagation modelling, whereas structure is described by Lagrange equations of mass, momentum and energy conservation. The ALE coupling algorithm is implemented in MSC Dytran software. The problem was solved using explicit integration of movement equations over time. The research showed that ground and wheels considerably affect the simulation results. The pressure impulse on the vehicle's bottom increased by 40 per cent compared to the model in which these effects were not considered. Furthermore, the quality of the results increased as the solution obtained is more physical. Proposed method is a useful tool in hull design process. As well as that, the method will be further developed to include more detailed model of the vehicle.

Currently most loads are carried by long, multi-axle motor vehicles of high capacity. Most of them are able to turn only front-axle wheels, which is not only a considerable impediment for a driver while passing round obstacle, over taking or parking but also a cause of accidents due to excess of lateral skid of tires in service along a curvilinear trajectory. The longer vehicle and the larger turning angle of front wheels, the wider portion of lane is occupied at curves. Therefore all wheel or axle steering system is winning attention again. The turning mechanism is either self adjusting or responds to a sign from a skid plate. The turning angle in subsequent axles is adjusted by a lever or a hydraulic system. This paper is a qualitative analysis of wheel steering focused on preventing lateral skid. For that purpose it uses a dynamic model of a four-axle vehicle with many degrees of freedom and with an ability of turning all wheels on a band. Wheel plan unbalanced loads is taken into account. All wheels angle steering should make the rear wheels follow or nearly follow the path of front wheels during cornering. This reduces abrasive wear of tires, which for lager number of wheels leads to operational costs reduction. Solving motion equation system for the discussed model will make it possible to determine relationships between turning angles of front and backs axle wheels and the velocity of vehicle 's weight centre. The vehicle trajectory for the prescribed design and operation parameters will be determined.
Aktualnie większość ładunków przewozi się pojazdami samochodowymi wieloosiowymi dużej ładowności i długości. Większość z tych pojazdów posiada jedynie możliwość skręcania kół osi przedniej, co w przypadku wykonywania manewru omijania przeszkody, wyprzedzania, parkowania jest istotnym utrudnieniem dla kierowcy a ze względu na występowanie zjawiska nadmiernego bocznego poślizgu ogumienia podczas jazdy na torze krzywoliniowym jest przyczyną wypadków drogowych z udziałem tego typu pojazdów. Szerokość zajmowanego pasa drogi podczas ruchu na łuku drogi jest tym większa im większy jest kąt skrętu kół przednich i im większa jest długość całkowita pojazdu. W związku z tym wraca się do rozwiązań konstrukcyjnych wszystkich kół skrętnych bądź osi skrętnych w tego typu pojazdach, stosując mechanizmy skrętu samonastawne bądź sterowane sygnałem od siodła lub holu ciągnika. Kąt skręcania kół w kolejnych osiach jezdnych jest ustawiany za pomocą układu dźwigniowego lub hydraulicznego. Niniejsza praca wykorzystując model dynamiczny pojazdu czteroosiowego o wielu stopniach swobody posiadający możliwość skręcania wszystkich kół, poruszający się na łuku drogi, stanowi analizę jakościową problemu sterowania kołami ze względu na uniknięcie poślizgu bocznego w strefie współpracy pneumatyka z nawierzchnią jezdni. Uwzględnione zostanie zjawisko niesymetrycznego obciążenia układu jezdnego pojazdu.. Sterowanie kątem skręcania wszystkich kół ma prowadzić do pokrycia bądź maksymalnego zbliżenia śladów kół osi przedniej i śladów kół osi tylnych pojazdu poruszającego się na łuku drogi. Wynikiem tego jest zmniejszenie zużycia ściernego opon, co przy dużej liczbie kół jezdnych prowadzi do obniżenia kosztów eksploatacji tego typu pojazdów. Rozwiązanie układu równań ruchu rozważanego modelu pojazdu pozwoli na określenie zależności między kątami skręcania kół w osi przedniej i w osiach tylnych a prędkością przemieszczania środka masy pojazdu. Możliwe będzie wyznaczenie toru ruchu pojazdu dla zadanych jego parametrów konstrukcyjnych i eksploatacyjnych.
