Background Professionals working with trauma victims can experience both negative and positive effects following exposure to secondary trauma. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between secondary traumatic stress (STS), secondary posttraumatic growth (SPTG) and cognitive coping strategies and to establish the mediating role of cognitive coping strategies in the relationship between STS and SPTG. Material and Methods A group of 500 professionals working with trauma survivors were surveyed. The Secondary Traumatic Stress Inventory, the Secondary Posttraumatic Growth Inventory and the Cognitive Processing of Trauma Scale was used. Results The results indicated that 29% of professionals demonstrate a high intensity of STS, and nearly 34% exhibit a high level of SPTG. Denial and regret were positively correlated with STS; positive cognitive restructuring, resolution/acceptance and downward comparison were positively related to SPTG. Two cognitive coping strategies, i.e., positive cognitive restructuring and downward comparison, were found to act as mediators in the relationship between STS and SPTG. Conclusions Understanding the effects of secondary exposure to trauma and the coping responses of professionals working with trauma survivors will support the development of prevention and intervention actions aimed at protecting them from the deleterious impact of exposure to secondary trauma at work and promoting secondary posttraumatic growth.

Police officers belong to the occupational group that is particularly exposed to work related stress. As part of their official duties officers help people who have experienced traumatic situations in their lives. Long-term contact and helping trauma victims may on the one hand cause certain negative consequences in the form of secondary traumatic stress, and on the other, can be a source of positive changes, understood as secondary posttraumatic growth. The aim of the study is to determine the severity of negative and positive posttraumatic changes among police officers exposed to secondary trauma and their connections with sociodemographic variables, workload and history of one’s own trauma. The research also aims to determine the relationship between the negative and the positive consequences of secondary exposure to trauma. 520 police officers on duty and in contact with trauma victims took part in the research. The study used a survey specifically developed for this purpose and two standard measurement tools, i.e.: the Secondary Traumatic Stress Inventory and Posttraumatic Growth Inventory. The officers participating in the study displayed relatively low intensity of negative consequences of exposure to secondary trauma, as well as varying levels of positive posttraumatic changes — 40% of respondents showed a low, 34% an average and 26% a high degree of secondary growth. Sociodemographic variables and workload had little influence on the occurrence of both negative and positive consequences of secondary exposure to trauma. A factor that significantly differentiated the severity of secondary stress and growth was their own history of trauma. Moreover, the obtained results showed positive relations between secondary stress and secondary growth

Opis:
Isolation of RNA from plants rich in secondary metabolites using commercial kits often results in contaminated preparations which are not suitable for downstream applications. Although many specific protocols appropriate for plants with a high content of phenolics, anthocyanins and polysaccharides have been developed, these are often expensive, time consuming and not applicable to different types of tissues. This study presents a simple and efficient modification of RNA extraction from different types of tissues using two commercial reagent kits. By simple improvement, we routinely obtained high-quality RNA of the following plants: the blackcurrant bush, black chokeberry bush, pear tree, apricot tree, apple tree, hardy kiwi, tangerine tree, highbush blueberry and cranberry plant.

The overall size and shape of the chicken gizzard calponin (CaP) h1 molecule was investigated by dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurements. From the DLS experiments, a z-averaged translational diffusion coefficient is derived (5.75 ± 0.3) × 10-7cm2s-1, which corresponds to a hydrodynamic radius of 3.72 nm for calponin. The frictional ratio (1.8 for the unhydrated molecule and 1.5 for the hydrated one) suggests a pronounced anisotropic structure for the molecule. An ellipsoidal model in length 19.4 nm and with a diameter of 2.6 nm used for hydrodynamic calculations was found to reproduce the DLS experimental data. The evaluation of the secondary structure of CaP h1 from the CD spectra by two independent methods has revealed that it contains, on average, 23% helix, 19% β-strand, 18% β-turns and loops, and 40% of remainder structures. These values are in good agreement with those predicted from the amino-acid sequence. Predictions used for CaP h1 were applied to other isoforms of known sequences and revealed that all calponins share a common secondary structure. Moreover, the predicted structure of the calponin CH domain is identical to that found by X-ray studies of the spectrin, fimbrin and utrophin CH domains.

The aim of the article is to apply Raymond Boudon’s theory of educational inequalities to the analysis and explanation of educational inequalities in Poland. The theory of primary and secondary effects of stratification was tested among the groups of middle school students (N = 1787) and secondary school leavers (N = 1168). The results of the analyses in both groups confirmed the presence of all the mechanisms of educational inequalities formulated within Boudon’s theory. First of all, the influence of one’s standing and capitals on the attitude towards education was observed. The students from middle classes more often valued tertiary education highly and noticed the relationship between higher education and life success. Secondly, educational performance was higher among the students of higher status, equipped with capitals. Thirdly, in the case of identical educational achievements, more ambitious educational choices were made by students of higher status. Fourthly, the influence of middle schools on educational aspirations has been discovered. The results of the research confirmed the validity of the theory of effects of stratification and proved its relevance and usefulness in terms of researching the effects of educational changes in Poland.

Aboriginal plants and their information clubbed with their potentiality. Majority of the secondary metabolites are the basic therapeutics. Usually these establishes in higher plants are gratifying all the time more noteworthy in drug scheming. In the current report, 100 different solvent extracts of 20 aboriginal plant species from Hyderabad Karnataka region were screened for their leading constituents of secondary metabolites. The presented empirical study deals with the career decisionmaking of Czech students of secondary technical (ISCED 3A) and secondary vocational schools (ISCED 3C). In the given population it is a difficult decisionmaking process with several critical moments. What is presented are partial findings of students’ and their parents’ views on the autonomy of the student and the influence of the significant others on career decisionmaking. The instrument of data collection was paired questionnaires for final-year students and their parents. Data collection took place in March and April 2011 at twenty secondary schools in four regions of the Czech Republic. The sample consisted of 442 students and the same number of parents. Although students as well as parents were inclined to believe that career decisionmaking should be mainly an autonomous affair of the student, the empirical findings show a not negligible influence of parents. Other significant others were attributed a smaller degree of influence by the respondents.

Cel. Celem podjętych badań było ustalenie nasilenia wtórnego stresu traumatycznego i wtórnego wzrostu po traumie oraz ich powiązań z obciążeniem pracą wśród pielęgniarek eksponowanych na wtórną traumę. Grupa badana i metody. Do analizy włączono wyniki uzyskane od 281 pielęgniarek narażonych na wtórną traumę. Wiek badanych mieścił się w zakresie 20-65 lat (M = 42,62, SD = 11,43). W badaniach wykorzystano ankietę, Inwentarz Wtórnego Stresu Traumatycznego oraz Inwentarz Wtórnego Wzrostu Potraumatycznego. Wyniki. Uzyskane wyniki badań wskazały na wysokie nasilenie wtórnego stresu i umiarkowane nasilenie wtórnego wzrostu potraumatycznego w badanej grupie pielęgniarek. Wśród uwzględnionych trzech wskaźników obciążenia pracą zwłaszcza liczba godzin pracy w tygodniu przeznaczana na pomoc pacjentom w istotny sposób wiązała się ujemnie z wtórnym stresem i dodatnio z wtórnym wzrostem - pełniąc także rolę predyktora tych zmiennych. Wnioski. Duża liczba godzin pracy z pacjentami zdaje się pełnić rolę chroniącą pielęgniarki przed rozwojem negatywnych i sprzyjać występowaniu pozytywnych konsekwencji wtórnej ekspozycji na traumę. Aim. The aim of the undertaken research was to determine the severity of secondary traumatic stress and secondary posttraumatic growth and their links with workload among nurses exposed to secondary trauma. Study group and methods. The analysis included the results obtained from 281 nurses exposed to secondary trauma. The age of the respondents ranged from 20 to 65 years (M = 42.62, SD = 11.43). The study used a survey, as well as the Secondary Traumatic Stress Inventory and the Secondary Posttraumatic Growth Inventory. Results. The obtained results indicated a high intensity of secondary traumatic stress and a moderate intensity of secondary growth after trauma in the studied group of nurses. Among the three workload indices included, the number of working hours per week devoted to helping patients is significantly associated with secondary stress – negatively and secondary growth – positively, also acting as a predictor of these variables. Conclusions. A large number of hours of work with patients seems to play a role that protects nurses from the development of negative and favors the occurrence of positive consequences of secondary exposure to trauma.

The paper shows the results of analysis of the motivations and selected aspect of functioning of tourist companies profiles on Facebook and its influence on secondary social bonds creation between users and a company. Ten companies from Podlaskie Voivodeship having the products and services associated with the active tourism were chosen as a subject of research. The research was conducted based on the author’s self-completion questionnaire and observation of the Facebook profiles content. Comments of users were classified based on the AIDA model. The activity of the competition was the main reason for the creation of the company Facebook profiles. The need for building long-lasting relations with the users indicated only 10% of respondents. At the same time half of the respondents does not notice significant benefits for a company from the functioning of its profile on Facebook. The results of the analysis of comments of users on analyzed companies profiles show that most of them concern the company and its employees or recommended products and tourist services, whereas they rarely relate to users tourist experience associated with the past or planned using of the firm offer. The ability of Facebook use as a platform of social secondary bonds creation, based on common interests of users, has been reported. The article makes an attempt to characterize a Polish language teacher who works in a secondary school. The author uses Polish lessons reports which teachers fill out and tries to make generalizations concerning methodological solutions introduced by the teachers.  Opinions of Polish language teachers who implement objectives developed as a part of ‘Tools in Action’ programme were used to analyse such elements of a lesson as: motivation situation, the topic of a lesson or innovations introduced by the teachers to already prepared lesson plans. The teachers’ comments and suggestions which were included in the reports allowed to characterize the image of a Polish language teacher and to describe selected areas of lessons. Due to their realization the perception of an educational thought inscribed within the idea of teaching as extensive humane project is possible during the Polish lessons in secondary schools.

The aim of the article was to point out and characterize different problems connected with cooperation between secondary schools and employers and benefits for local and national economy. The work discusses examples of cooperation among secondary schools, employers and higher education institutions. Celem artykułu było wskazanie i scharakteryzowanie wybranych problemów związanych z współpracą pomiędzy szkołami ponadgimnazialnymi i pracodawcami oraz płynącymi korzyściami dla gospodarki lokalnej jak i krajowej. W pracy omówiono przykłady współpracy szkół ponadgimnazjalnych z pracodawcami i uczelniami wyższymi. Podjęto rozważenia nad wprowadzeniem do szkół przedsiębiorczości praktycznej w formie startupów. Omówiono również formy akademickiej przedsiębiorczości tj. inkubator przedsiębiorczości oraz spin off i spin out jako kontynuacja startupów szkół ponadgimnazjalnych. Ponadto scharakteryzowano startup w Wielkiej Brytanii.

The production of mood-regulating chemicals (e.g. serotonin) may be impacted through prolonged or acute stress events. If a serotonin-deficit exists, depression-related illnesses may result, with such illnesses projected to become the second highest lifetime burden of disease. Critically, physical activity has been found to assist in increasing serotonin levels, positively impacting adult neurogenesis and mood. The purpose of this study was to track daily steps (physical activity) employing a stepcounting technology across a small Canadian university. Guided by the research questions: Can tracking daily steps encourage elevated levels of physical activity? and What differences, if any, exist between physical activity levels amongst students and faculty/staff?, such an understanding may add to the current body of knowledge concerning physical activity levels in educational institutions. Over a 9-week period, students (n = 32) took significantly more steps than faculty/staff (n = 16), and significantly more in Week 9 than in Week 2.

Helping those who have experienced trauma exposes the helpers to secondary traumatization. The mechanisms of its development are most often explained using the cognitive model of trauma processing. The aim of the research is to determine how disturbances of core beliefs and cognitive processing in the form of coping with stress are associated with secondary traumatic stress (STS) and secondary posttraumatic growth (SPTG). The study was conducted among psychologists and social workers (N = 240), working with people after traumatic experiences. Four standardized measurement tools were used. Based on the differential diagnosis, four types of consequences were identified. Discriminant analysis was used to establish the optimal configuration of predictors explaining the differences between the four subgroups. Two significant discriminant functions were significant, each identifies different beliefs and coping strategies. The first is associated with the disruptions of core beliefs about the world and cognitive processing in the form of a non-adaptive strategy; the second—with disturbed beliefs about oneself and adaptation strategies. Our results show a much greater exposure of social workers to the negative consequences of secondary traumatic stress disorder. A system of constant monitoring should be introduced, and the principles of prevention and therapy should be implemented.

Obviously, with a lower limb disability they are constrained to use wheelchairs. Sometimes it is difficult for them to get to the places, where other usually get easily. This has led us to create a wheelchair as an aid for these people with a handicap. We have decided to facilitate functioning in the outdoor environment for students with difficulties to move, because where tough paved paths end, tough reality begins. With help of project RUSOS, our students are more capable of solving this complexed task that requires knowledge from robotics.

A new form of government of the Polish state was combined with its rather intensive influence on the character of the educational system, including general secondary schools. That time is distinguished by numerous controversies, which then appeared in various social circles, political parties, and referred to the constitutional and organizational structure as well as the program structure of this school level. In the first years the controversies were more of an evolutionary character, as at that time discussion and exchange of opinions concerning differing standpoints and concepts for the Polish route to socialism were still possible. After 1948 there was no more room for discussion; the decisions about this sphere were also made by one group - the people related to the communist party (Pol. abbr. PZPR). Already right after the cessation of war activities, the tendencies leading to the centralization of education management were noticeable, and consequently, ever more intense influence of the government o f the working classes (lub the people’s government) on the functioning of schools, but, above all, on the teaching content. The process of centralization was linked with the so-called democratization process of school i.e., the question, of which the ruling communists made their priority.A consequence of democratization of the general secondary school and rendering it a tool for the manufacture of future citizens - devoted to and subjected to the government of the working classes - was the aspiration for closing private general secondary schools, and also the expulsion of religion from school. Such changes, falsely justified by the necessity to observe the principle of freedom of conscience and confession, led to the secularization of the school system. The discussed expulsion of the Church from schools, and at the same time from the sphere of educating a young generation, was supposed to serve the formation of a new socialist society in the future.

The solution structure and thermal stability of human prostatic acid phosphatase (hPAP) in the absence and in the presence of tartaric acid were studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The temperature dependence of the infrared spectrum and DSC scans indicate that hPAP undergoes thermal unfolding at a temperature between 49.5 and 52.5°C. Binding of tartaric acid does not lead to major changes in the secondary structure of hPAP, however, hPAP with bound tartaric acid shows a significantly increased thermal stability. These results helped to better understand the mechanism of hPAP unfolding at the elevated temperature.

The article presents the semantic analysis of students’ nicknames. The onomastic material has been taken from a sample survey conducted in one of secondary school in Kalisz at a school year 2013/2014. The material basis consists of 269 personal names. The anthroponyms formed on common names are analysed in detail in the article. The main aim of the study is to observe the connections between the nicknames and the common names which motivate them. The semantic analysis and the statistical analysis of school nicknames allow to notice and reconstruct the mechanisms which affect nicknames formation as well as to observe the connections between the name and the designatum.

Hungarian educational policy took a sharp turn in 2010, after the change of regime. The study analyses how pupil/parent preferences and enrolment chances have changed since 2000 in secondary education. The core of the study are KIFIR databases. Their task is to conduct secondary admission processes and to register applications. We have also used the data of the national com- petence survey to investigate the relationships between social background and student performance. While the strong government policy prefers vocational training, students and parents tend to turn away from it. However, the chances to enter secondary school have decreased, thus reducing the chances to enter higher education.

A pension is a benefit of cash character, which aim is to secure the material existence in the period, in which an individual, regarding to age is not able to perform work. In order to gain the entitlement, one should meet defined conditions, having met which the choice of the moment of retirement is made by the entitled person. A person at retirement age may fully spend their time resting resigning from professional activity, may also continue work, postponing retirement or combine receiving benefits with professional work. The aim of the paper is to analyse the occurrence of secondary professional activity as well as factors determining the undertaking of employment in the period of receiving benefit. The conducted research shows that the responders relatively earlier exercised their right to a pension and average age of responders’ retirement amounted to 59 years. However, gaining entitlement to a pension did not caused responders’ withdrawal from the labour market and over half of them combined receiving benefits with professional work. The undertaking of the professional activity was conditioned by responders’ financial situation.

One of the main goals of mathematical education is to develop the skills for problem solving as well as skills that help carry out mathematical reasoning and argumentation.Geometric problems play here a special role. These require the person solving them to act with an inquiry attitude and a ‘specific vision’. The ‘specific vision’ is the ability one can manipulate with geometric objects in ones’ mind and perceive, separate and focus on the important information only. However, it is not enough to “see” it is also necessary to know how to interpret what is being seen. Although many researchers have dealt with the problem and many establishments have been made in this scope, the question of how to develop the skills of the “specific vision” stays still open.Herein article presents the research results which aimed at, among others, verification to what degree the combination of geometry problems formed into a bundle helps the secondary school students ‘notice’ and understand the presented situation and as a consequence to find the answer to few questions about this situation. We wanted to establish whether such an organised educational environment entails students natural thinking over the subsequent bundle of problems solved, or maybe makes them return to questions already solved, or by the usage of knowledge acquired helps students to find the problem solution for the next question or a correction for the committed mistakes. The analysis was based on some results coming from the survey School of Independent Thinking conducted by the Institute for Educational Research in 2011.

The massive emergence of plastics has contributed to their widespread use in everyday life. Unfortunately, the lack of appropriate technologies for processing these materials has contributed to environmental pollution by plastic particles. This study investigated the possibility of obtaining nanoparticles from selected plastics such as polyethylene and polyethylene terephthalate. Polyethylene was obtained from plastic bag waste, and polyethylene terephthalate was from crushed plastic bottles of mineral water. The first stage of nanoparticle production was to grind the collected used plastic waste, i.e., plastic bags and plastic bottles, to the smallest possible size using a cutting mill. Next, the waste was ground in a planetary-ball mill and then homogenised in a homogeniser. The particle size distribution of the obtained particles for selected waste plastics was examined using the Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) method. The objective of the work was achieved – as a result of the performed procedures, nanoparticles of waste plastics were obtained. The following average sizes for particular materials were obtained: plastic bottles (PET) 212.81 nm, plastic bags (PE) 208.14 nm, and smaller particles, e.g. 27.74 nm.

Child protection is an area of police work which has expanded in the last decade, leading to an increase in the number of police officers working in departments which specialise in investigating cases of child abuse. Police officers in this field may be at greater risk of experiencing secondary traumatic stress but there remains a paucity of research in this area of policing. Analogies can be drawn to existing research in policing and with social service workers involved in child protection. The paper finishes off with implications for police forces to ensure safe working environments and appropriate counselling for employees.

Large fillet radii are typically found on highly loaded compressor rotors to ensure structural integrity. The objective of this paper is to investigate the impact of such real geometry effects on the flow at the hub section. Investigations were performed numerically for the idealised case of a plane compressor cascade with the 3D Navier-Stokes code TRACE_S. Realistic inlet boundary layer displacement thickness and typical loading levels close to stall are considered at low inlet Mach numbers Ma1 = 0.23. A large fillet with a relative radius of 16% chord length is considered as well as a 3D leading edge bulb-configuration designed at TU Dresden. The results are discussed in terms of iso-Mach surfaces, secondary flow patterns and spanwise incidence and turning. A complex 3D vortex system rises from the fillet radius, which improves the aerodynamic behaviour of the cascade at the end-wall section. With the bulb configuration the suction surface horse-shoe vortex leg was demonstrated to weaken the undesirable cross flow and by that to reduce the hazard of corner stall.

The study was aimed at mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of secondary phases related to deterioration of historic building materials. The investigations, carried out in the Holy Trinity Basilica in Kraków, Poland, focused on the southern facade of the 17th-century Myszkowskis Chapel, built of the Miocene Pińczów limestone. Lower part of the facade is covered with a cement render, and the exposed foundations are made of Jurassic limestone and Cretaceous sandstone, both of local origin from the Kraków region and neighbouring Carpathians, in the form of irregular blocks bound with a cement mortar. The wall surface exhibits clear signs of damage; from dark grey soiling and scaling to efflorescences. Sampled materials, deteriorated, altered crusts and efflorescences were analysed with optical and scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Raman microspectroscopy methods. The secondary minerals distinguished include abundant gypsum CaSO42H2O, less common thenardite Na2SO4 (and/or mirabilite Na2SO410H2O), aphthitalite (K, Na)3Na(SO4)2, darapskite Na3(SO4)(NO3)H2O, ettringite Ca6Al2(SO4)3(OH)12 26H2O, monosulphite Ca4Al2O6SO311H2O, as well as scarce nitre KNO3, nitratine NaNO3 and halite NaCl. Gypsum usually forms surface crusts and fills the pores inside some materials. The efflorescences, sampled from the exposed foundations, consisted of thenardite and/or mirabilite, aphthitalite and darapskite, whereas ettringite and monosulphite were connected with cement renders. Traces of nitre, nitratine and halite were detected at various elements of the chapel facade and foundations. The origin of the salts is related to composition and physicochemical properties of the building materials, as well as to anthropogenic factors.

In order to evaluate the influence of fillets in a high speed compressor cascade with an aspect ratio of h/c = 1 a parameter study has been performed. Fillets of different radii from 1 to 5mm (2.5%c-12.5%c) between the side wall and stator vanes have been investigated at inlet Mach numbers of M = 0.5 and M = 0.66 and at a Reynolds number of Re = 5.6 ź 105 based on the chord length. The heights of the fillets were chosen with regard to manufacturing aspects for blade integrated disks (Blisk). The measurements were accomplished with a total pressure rake combined with angle probes which provides information on total pressure loss, efficiency and outflow angle of the cascade. For comparison and estimation of the performance of the fillet equipped cascade a reference cascade without fillets was measured and the differences between the individual test cases will be shown in quantitative numbers and values as well as qualitative pictures. In the measurements for this paper a dependence between the fillet height and the total pressure loss coefficient became apparent.
W celu oszacowania wpływu powierzchni przejściowej łopatek w wysokoobrotowych sprężarkach kaskadowych o współczynniku kształtu h/c = 1 na ich wydajność w pracy przeprowadzono analizę parametryczną układu. Profile przejściowe o promieniach zaokrągleń od 1 do 5mm (2.5%c-12.5%c) pomiędzy powierzchnią osadzenia a łopatką kierownicy badano dla prędkości napływu 0.50-0.66M i liczbie Reynoldsa Re = 5.6 ź 105 przy zadanej długości cięciwy łopatki. Wysokość profilu przejściowego dobrano ze względów technologicznych typowych dla dysków zintegrowanych z łopatkami. Pomiary dokonano za pomocą czujników ciśnienia i próbników kątowych, co pozwoliło na zgromadzenie informacji o całkowitych stratach ciśnienia, sprawności i wartości kąta odpływu z kaskady. Dla celów porównawczych i wyznaczenia wydajności sprężarki przeprowadzono pomiary w kaskadzie referencyjnej pozbawionej powierzchni przejściowych. Różnice dla poszczególnych testów pokazano ilościowo na wartościach konkretnych parametrów i jakościowo na odpowiednich rysunkach. Pomiary wykazały wyraźną zależność pomiędzy wysokością profilu przejściowego i współczynnikiem całkowitych strat ciśnienia.

The article analyses the unsteady interaction of vortex structures in a turbine rotor passage. In the form of sample cases, two high-pressure steam turbine stages are examined: a standard stage, used as the reference, which reveals regular performance characteristics and distributions of flow parameters, and a low-efficiency stage, in which a large separation zone is observed in the rear part of the rotor passage. In the latter case the combined interaction of all vortices has been found to take an extremely complex course and be a source of remarkable flow fluctuations. The methodology applied for extracting particular vortex structures from the general flow pattern bases on comparing entropy distributions with corresponding velocity vectors. The reported vortex interaction patterns are believed to be representative for a variety of turbine constructions of both land, and marine applications.

Modern cars are more and more frequently equipped not only with the driver assisting systems, but also with multimedia devices allowing to track the information, use the Internet or send and receive e-mails. This type of activity can cause dangerous situations by inducing various forms of distraction to the driver. In order to identify the effects caused by performing additional tasks while driving, two types of secondary tasks were proposed. The following article presents the results of a pilot study that uses two additional tasks to induce the driver with cognitive load not related to driving. At the same time, in the course of the experiment, both the driving performance and the quality of performing additional tasks were observed. The article describes selected results of the conducted study.

In the first part of the article, the author presents the problem of shaping educational paths of students with special educational needs. Then the author briefly describes the changes in the education in mainstream secondary schools and vocational secondary schools (including basic vocational schools) during the transformation period. In the further part of this article, the author analyzes the educational opportunities and limitations of students with special educational needs in their individual and environmental predispositions and with reference to the results of external examinations. The article ends with the indication of the need to support students with special educational needs in shaping their educational and professional choices.

Z roku na rok demografowie obserwują niekorzystną tendencję. Statystyki nie kłamią, do województw o złych prognozach demograficznych należy zaliczyć woj. lubelskie i powiat bialski. Zatem należy sądzić, iż w interesie powiatu jest, aby absolwenci szkół gimnazjalnych kontynuowali naukę w szkołach prowadzonych przez powiat bialski. Ale czy tak faktycznie jest i czy wszyscy absolwenci chcą dalej kontynuować naukę w szkołach na terenie powiatu? Na to pytanie w szerszym kontekście będzie można odpowiedzieć po przeanalizowaniu wyników badań przeprowadzonych na terenie powiatu bialskiego w 2014 roku.
The purpose of this article is to present the results of research the subject of which has not been chosen randomly. The phenomenon of population decline has been in the centre of public attention for some time as this adverse tendency has been observed by demographers. The provinces with negative demographic prospects include Lubelskie province with Biała Podlaska district. Thus, it can be assumed that it is in the district’s best interests for the graduates of lower secondary schools to continue their education in the schools run by Biała Podlaska district. However, the question arises if all the graduates wish to continue their education in the schools located in the district. The analysis of the results of the research conducted in Biała Podlaska district in 2014 provides the answer to this question.

The main objective of this study is to clarify strategic directions aimed at adapting the system of general secondary education to new conditions of teaching and learning and minimising educational losses both in times of war and in the post-war period in Ukraine, on the one hand, and presenting and communicating our specific study to an international audience through describing main activities within each strategic direction identified, on the other hand. The authors employed a netnographic approach for collecting information posted on the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine’s official website on the topic of providing quality education to school-age children in war in Ukraine between February 24 and June 30, 2022. The data concerning providing quality education to school-age children in times of war in Ukraine were collected for more than four months, from February 24, 2022 to June 30, 2022. The authors selected 294 news posts that met the selection criteria for further analysis out of 824 news posts available on the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine website during the chosen period. Their analysis and summarisation enabled us to clarify eight main strategic directions, namely, official statements by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, External Independent Assessment, support of the international community for providing educational opportunities to school-age children outside Ukraine, organising education in times of war, work with teachers in times of war, providing technical support to organising education, out-ofschool education, physical and sports education.

By providing constant help to trauma victims, the helpers themselves run the risk of secondary traumatization. As a rule, research focuses on the negative consequences of secondary trauma. Meanwhile, there are also positive changes in the form of Secondary Posttraumatic Growth (SPTG). The present study describes the design and testing of a new tool for measuring SPTG. Thirty items were presented to employees from five different professions constantly working with trauma victims (N = 580). A 4-factor solution (PCA) turned out to be clear and unambiguously interpretable. After excluding items based on their component loading and redundancy, the tool was pared down to 12 items. A separate sample used in confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) yielded good fit indexes. The four dimensions were given the following designations: 1. New challenges and an increase in professional competences, 2. Increase in spiritual experiences and a greater sense of responsibility for others, 3. Greater confidence in oneself and appreciating life, 4. Increased acceptance and actions for others. Cronbach’s alpha was .90. The inventory demonstrated high stability, as indicated by the two-month test–retest stability value (.78). The theoretical validity was estimated by comparing SPTGI scores with other measures which should be associated with secondary positive changes. The SPTGI is a new, reliable, and valid instrument for measuring positive posttraumatic changes among professionals exposed to secondary trauma. It can be useful in scientific research and in clinical practice.

LP2I - Lycée Pilote Innovant International (transl. the Innovative Pilot International High School) is a French secondary school in Jaunay-Clan, a small town near Poitiers in France. This high school, just like any other school in France, employs universal methods in three thematic areas: the humanities, science and economic &social sciences. It is additionally oriented towards new technologies. LP2I stresses the importance of students’ autonomy and aims at developing students’ interests in various fields. How are these goals achieved? ACF – Activités Complémentaires de Formation (transl. supplementary classes, trainers) are designed to develop creativity and responsibility through the creation of an interdisciplinary project related to the interests of the student. In turn, under the BAS (Besoins, Approfondissement, Soutien) students can attend afternoon classes, compensatory activities or classes which allow them to deepen their knowledge of the given subject. In this paper, I discuss how these projects are launched, as well how they benefit the students.

Artykuł dotyczy wykorzystania technologii multimedialnych w nauczaniu historii. Współcze-sna młodzież należy do pokolenia, które określane jest mianem „cyfrowych tubylców”, czyli osób traktujących istnienie wirtualnej rzeczywistości jako naturalny element otaczającej rzeczywistości. Zastosowanie multimediów na lekcjach historii wykorzystane może być zarówno jako element wzbogacający realizowany temat, np. w formie fragmentu filmu, prezentacji, jak też w formie samodzielnej pracy wykonanej przez uczniów, tj. przygotowanie mapy online, zrealizowanie zadania w oparciu o źródła zamieszczone w sieci. W konsekwencji użycie technologii multime-dialnych w procesie lekcyjnym powinno nie tylko wzbogacać prowadzone zajęcia pod względem merytorycznym, ale także oddziaływać na motywację uczniów.
The article concerns the use of multimedia technology in the teaching of history. Today's youth belongs to the generation which is called as “digital native”. It means that they treat the existence of virtual reality as a natural part of the surrounding reality. The use of multimedia dur-ing history lessons can be used as an enrichment component for the matter presented by the teach-er, for example in the form of a clip of the film or presentation. The multimedia can be also used by the students in the form of individual work, it means: the preparation of online maps, comple-tion of tasks based on sources included in the network. Consequently, the use of multimedia tech-nology in the lesson should not only enrich conducted classes in terms of content, but also affect the motivation of students.

Riveting is a traditional, but still popular (particularly in aviation) method of joining metal and composite elements. The residual stress and plastic strain states occur in the joint after the riveting process. The total stress aperienced by the material at a given location within a component depends on the residual and applied stress. Residual post-riveting stress fields are widely accepted to have a significant influence on the fatigue life of aircraft structures. The single lap riveted joint consisting of two sheets and three rows of rivets are analysed. Two specimens are taken into consideration: sheet width and pitch distance are equal to 10.5 mm and rivet diameter is equal to 3.5 mm in the former case whereas 25 mm wide sheets and 5 mm rivet diameter are used in the later case. Distance between rivets (pitch length) and sheet width are equal to 3 or 5 rivet diameters. Materials used in riveted joints are subjected to plastic deformation. The rivet (PA24) and the sheet (2024T3) aluminium alloys are described using piecewise linear material models. The yield stress for the multiaxial state is calculated using the von Mises yield criterion. The paper deals with analysis of the pitch length and sheet thickness influence on stress fields. Stress concentrations around the holes in the rivet row and its distribution between rows are calculated. Models with and without residual stresses are taken into consideration. Local change of the sheet thickness causes a decrease in secondary bending of the joint. This is a result of a small increase in bending between the rivet rows and a simultaneous decrease in maximum bending stress values.

The complex Puchezh-Katunki (PK) structure was created in the area of the Vladimir-Vyatka dislocation zone on the crystalline basement of the East European platform. The crater ca 80 km in diameter is located north of the city Nizhny Novgorod and is covered by thick layers of Mesozoic sediments. Shocked rocks, mainly gneisses, have been described. Recrystallised feldspar-quartz melt is the most common component in specimens of impactites. The melt is preserved in the form of various clasts showing wavy nebulous contacts within the surrounding microcristalline or isotropic matrix. Planar deformation features (PDFs) were observed in the quartz grains, including toasted quartz. Their number ranges from one to three. The PDF lines are limited to the grain boundaries or cross them. A few ‘kinky’ cracks have been noted in the biotite plates. Lobate inter-grain contacts prove that quartz is recrystallised by grain-boundary migration. The recrystallized quartz also occurs in the form of ballen quartz and trydimite. Both types of quartz are numerous in the material under study. Tridymite tiles show patchy extinction. Various matrices formed from rock melts are microcrystalline (clay minerals) and contain fragments of isotropic glass, also in the form of spherules. In matrix, some clasts are in the form of the ballen quartz, sometimes with relics of PDFs. Matrices of recrystallized rock melts are characterised by different colours, number of clasts and are distinctly separated from each other. The melts during the impact process are immiscible. Secondary mineralization is more frequent in the rock melts and less frequent in the metamorphosed gneisses. Magnetite, pyrite and zeolites are the most common secondary minerals.

Upper-secondary school students must prepare for adult life, which – among others – entails acquiring relevant skills and discovering their own potential. Efforts at European and national levels have been made to ensure that students gain the competences, the so-called key competences, which facilitate functioning in the modern world. However, in Polish upper-secondary schools their overall development may be problematic as schoolwork is heavily exam-oriented. In order to address this challenge, a study was undertaken, the aim of which was to investigate the usefulness and feasibility of applying gamification to an extracurricular CLIL project intended to develop key competences in an upper-secondary school. The paper reports on one part of this study, i.e. on how a biology challenge (two tasks) was designed, implemented and evaluated. The results show educational and emotional gains, suggesting the motivational effect of gamification in learning.

The article presents the idiosyncrasies of the frequency of syntactic structures used by secondary school students (aged 13-15). It is drawn on the basis of research carried out in a secondary school in Kalisz. A total of 4,021 syntactic structures from 276 compositions written by students from two classes were analysed in order to present phenomena typical of the ultimate syntactic structures. The data was collected for two school years (2011/2012 and 2012/2013) and indicates the most frequently and generally used syntactic structures as well as the less popular and more specific ones. In addition, a comparison of the results and transposing them to a timeframe makes it possible to present the evolution in the syntax of compositions written by secondary school students. An analysis of the material has also led to specifying the types of syntactic errors and their frequency.

Aluminum is an easily available and cheap material, which is widely used in military and civil industries, e.g. in space technology, explosion welding, mining, production of oil and natural gas, manufacture of airbags. Primary and secondary explosives containing aluminum are described in this part of the work. Aluminum is added to high explosives of different shapes and sizes. These parameters influence inter alia detonation velocity (D), explosion heat, detonation pressure, pressure impulse and thermal stability. Detonation parameters of high explosive (HE) containing aluminum have been determined for binary systems consisting of high explosive or oxidizer and aluminum, plastic bonded explosives (PBX), melt cast explosives, thermobaric explosives (TBX), ammonium nitrate fuel oil (ANFO). Aluminum causes different effects on detonation velocity and explosion heat depending on the type of high explosive in binary systems. The dependence of the aluminum content in a mixture with ammonium nitrate with detonation velocity increased for an aluminum range from 0 to 10%, changed little between 10 and 16% of aluminum added and decreased from 16 to 40% of the aluminum content. For an aluminum content higher than 40%, the detonation process was not observed. The performance of explosives can be determined by the shock wave intensity. An increase in the pressure impulse made Al particle react with gaseous products and the air behind the front of detonation wave. The addition of aluminum also influences the thermal stability of high explosive materials.

The self-creation of modern youth in the world of permanent change is closely related to the existing socio-cultural conditions and the psychosocial condition resulting from the experienced developmental stage. The changeability and relativity of the reality in which young people exist affects the process of searching for their “I”, which becomes more and more undefined, requiring constant updating, and changing. Therefore, it becomes necessary to undertake analyses of identity formation as the main developmental task of the youth period, with particular emphasis on the current socio-cultural reality, which is not insignificant for this process. The article presents the results of scientific research on the subjective aspect of the sense of identity of contemporary high school youth (out of the general population the author selected a population of 439 students of secondary schools, aged 15-19, located in the territory of the Wielkopolskie [Greater Poland] Voivodeship in Poland, random selection) measured by the TST (Twenty Statements Test). The presented results of research on the subjective aspect of the sense of identity of secondary school youth reveal an image of this age group as one that is still searching for its own identity core, and undergoing the process of implementation of developmental tasks belonging to the stage of adolescence. The analyses of the research results show the specificity of the process of shaping identity by young people in modern conditions. This issue is the main goal of the research presented in the article.

Semiotics is the study of how signs are interpreted as references, and names are an obvious type of sign. Semiotics may therefore be considered a useful approach to all types of name study — whether personal names, place names, commercial names, or literary names. As described by C. S. Peirce, an act of reference consists of a sign (e.g., a word, word part, road sign, emblem, or simply a finger) and a referent (e.g., an object, conceptual model, or analytic definition). Furthermore, all acts of reference reflect one or more of three basic types of relationships: 1) similarity, 2) one-to-one corre¬spondence, and/or 3) arbitrary convention. If a sign is interpreted as similar to a referent, it functions iconically. If it is interpreted as a designation or as caused by the referent, it functions indexically. If it is interpreted as referring to two or more indexical referents, it evokes related qualities and there¬by functions symbolically. The primary interpretation of names is indexical. However, the purpose of this paper is to show how names, as signs, are also interpreted iconically and symbolically, even at the same time. Different types of names will be used to illustrate these semiotic functions.

Opis:
The age of secondary orality, in which the oral and literate ways of thinking collide with each other, influences the communicative styles of today’s youth. One of the visible phenomena related to the language of teenagers is their progressing inability to acquire skills required to use written texts, together with the resulting cognitive and social consequences. In this article, the author discusses the impact of cultural factors on the development of youth literacy. The analyses, based on observations of the linguistic behaviour of lower secondary school students, show that young people are firmly anchored in the current communicative communities immersed in the digital world.

Objectives. To compare the level of secondary traumatic stress disorder symptoms, demographic (age) and work- -related variables (years of experience, average number of trauma patients over the past 12 months, and clinical supervision) in a sample of trauma therapists and psychiatrists working with trauma victims. Method. The study included 160 participants, 80 therapists and 80 psychiatrists, who worked with trauma victims. Participants filled out the PTSD Questionnaire: Factorial Version to assess the level of secondary traumatic stress disorder symptoms and the Berlin Social Support Scales to measure social support. They also provided demographic and work-related information. Results: The results of our study revealed higher rates of secondary traumatic stress disorder (STSD) symptoms among psychiatrists compared to therapists. We also noticed significant differences with respect to age, years of experience and actually received support between therapists and psychiatrists. Conclusions: Mental health specialists should be aware of the potentially negative impact of working with trauma victims in the form of secondary traumatic stress disorder symptoms

The study was triggered as a result of declining performance of learners in Botswana and it was aimed at finding solutions that would enhance sound academic performance in junior secondary schools. A phenomenological design was selected for the study while a qualitative approach was adopted using focus group interviews as the source of data collection from participants. The findings of this study revealed that the inability of the government of Botswana to implement job satisfaction measures in educators inhibited adequate transfer of knowledge to learners, which resulted in a decline in performance. Learners’ gross misconduct and their parents’ inability to counsel them contributed to their decline in performance. Also, learners and educators admitted that the current system of education should be replaced with another productive system. Another finding of this study confirmed that learners are tired of corporal punishment and they want it to be replaced with detention. The study recommendation is that the Ministry of Education of Botswana should apply motivational and job satisfaction factors to encourage educators to adequately transfer knowledge to learners.

One of the challenges facing wildlife conservation is how to change the way people perceive wildlife. Therefore this study examine wildlife conservation awareness and practices in some selected secondary school around Kainji Lake National Park. Data was collected through the use of pre tested structured questionnaires among six selected secondary school in the study area. The sample of the research was one hundred (100) respondents. Data was analysis using descriptive statistics. The findings reveals that majority of the respondents (74%) are male and age group 15-20 years had the highest with 43%. 63% of the respondents are aware of wildlife conservation in the study area and majority (66%) of the respondent has not visit the Kainji Lake National Park. 50% of the respondents had about wildlife through direct communication. 63% and 80% of the respondents are willing and are ready to support wildlife conservation in the study area. The finding still reveal that awareness is still lacking in most schools among the communities. Therefore more wildlife conservation awareness is needed in our various schools so as to get the interest of the students when they are still young so that generation coming will also be thought.

Educational influence is among the essential tasks of school activities. It should be performed by all the teachers and especially by form tutors. The modern model of the form tutor was formed during the interwar period. After Poland regained independence, it also gained the opportunity of creating its own schools and of conducting educational tasks in accordance with the needs of the country and the society. Educating the youth became one of the most important tasks. The duties of form tutors had to be redefined, too. The educational authorities issued the relevant regulations, which were popularised by educational magazines and introduced into schools under the guidance of school principals and teachers’ boards.

Opis:
Training to become a security guard (pracownik ochrony fizycznej) is now available to young people in Sweden as part of their upper secondary vocational education. This means a training package (TP) by the security industry moving into a school system. The research questions are, firstly how the TP is re-fitted in terms of curriculum, secondly, how the students interact with learning opportunities the TP offers. Focus group interviews and classroom observations were used as a method with two small groups of students. From the students’ perspective, the TP has fused seamlessly with their regular education, enriching each other. Through the TP the students also experienced a syllabus design with a strong alignment between learning goals, activities and an assessment.

Public secondary schools in Nigeria occupy a significant position for providing qualitative education, yet there has been increasing public discontent with the quality of students being produced in the country’s public secondary schools. Teachers are regarded as one of the resources necessary for achieving the goals of secondary education. It is against this backdrop that this study examined teachers’ collective efficacy as a predictor of students’ academic performance in North Central Nigeria. Three research questions and hypotheses were generated to guide the study, which made use of a correlation-type descriptive research design with a population consisting of all teachers in the North Central region. An instrument titled the Teachers’ Collective Efficacy Questionnaire (TCEQ) was developed to elicit pertinent data from the participants. Also, students’ academic achievement was measured. The results of the study revealed that no substantial nexus existed between the teachers’ experience and the students’ academic achievement. However, the teachers’ verbal encouragement was found to be an important predictor of the learners’ academic success. Similarly, the teachers’ academic emphasis was a significant predictor of the learners’ academic performance. Based on this, it was established that teachers’ collective efficacy is an important predictor that can be used to improve students’ academic achievement. The study recommended that education administrators should acquaint their staff with the importance of collective efficacy towards improving students’ academic performance. It was also recommended that the government should organize workshops, seminars, and conferences for the supervisors, principals, and teachers of schools on efficacy issues and that teachers should be well motivated to maintain a high degree of efficacy in their various schools.

This study analyses the cognitive activation through mathematics tasks in the context of the centralised examination- Zentrale Pr¨ufung 10 (ZP 10) – administered in North-Rhine Westphalia. Cognitive activation, here, is understood as being one characteristic within a range of curricular, content-related and cognitive categories that can potentially be activated in the course of the solution process of a given task. Here, it is fundamental to first consider obligatory curricular standards as well as to categorise mathematics tasks in terms of their function. This first section is then followed by the analysis of the cognitive requirements of the complete set of test tasks used between 2007 (introduction of ZP 10) and 2016 (N = 1706).

Aim. The aim of this study is to present the relationship between educational interest and academic achievement of the secondary school students in East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya, India. The standardised tool used for the study is the Educational Interest Record by Kulshrestha (2016). In order to assess the academic achievement, the final year examination results of students were collected. Methods. The sample of the study comprised of 300 secondary school students drawn from fifteen secondary schools under Meghalaya Board of School Education. Stratified random sampling was used with equal representation to gender and locale. Analysis was done by using Pearson ‘r’ (Product Moment Correlation) and t-test. Results. The findings of the study revealed a negative relationship between educational and academic achievement. There is a significant difference in the educational interest in terms of gender, but no significant difference was found between locales of the secondary school students. Conclusions. The assessment of the educational interest may be considered one of the crucial methods used in the education system, as teaching of subjects alone cannot help the students in the educational development. On the other hand, academic achievement is one of the areas in which relatively accurate information can be obtained with relation to individual’s ability or capacity. The study has provided information which indicate that students do not have a clear understanding about their own interests and abilities. Hence, guidance and counselling need to be integrated into the secondary school curriculum in the state in order to help the students better understand their interests and abilities. Educational guidance and counselling will also enable the students to plan both their higher education and career in thefuture.

Invasive alien species are non-native plant species that displace native species and pose adverse effects to environment, ecosystem, economy, and human health by diminishing the growth of native plants and by exhibiting higher stress tolerance. In our present study, four invasive alien species, namely Lantana camara, Parthenium hysterophorous, Ricinus communis, and Ageratum conyzoides, were studied from different locations. Plants growing under natural environmental conditions were sampled at random in the vicinity of Jalandhar. To gain insights into the biochemical basis of invasiveness of these plants, the samples were subjected to chemical fingerprinting by using UV-Vis, fluorescent, and Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) techniques under natural abiotic stress conditions (moderate and hot conditions). Indices of oxidative stress, such as malondialdehyde (MDA), were also studied. MDA levels were enhanced under hot conditions. Elevated peaks (major and minor) were observed in UV fingerprinting during adverse abiotic conditions. Fluorescent spectroscopy also validated the enhanced levels of secondary metabolites. FT-IR spectroscopy confirmed the presence of alkaloids and phenolics during stress conditions. Peaks were identified as rutin, vanillic acid, ascorbic acid, and glutathione reduced. The obtained results showed that under stressful conditions, the studied plants may produce an increased level of metabolites that might play a role in minimizing the oxidative stress faced by these plants. It was concluded that the studied plants, namely P. hysterophorus, L. camara, R. communis, and A. conyzoides, have the potential to cope with abiotic stress such as high temperature, which could be the reason for their invasiveness and vast adaptability.

Preparation of students for adult life also includes the area of health care. Health education is part of the core curriculum of Polish schools. The leading role of the health educator is assumed by the physical education teacher, but many other educational tasks are carried out by all school staff. The present study attempts to answer the question: How is health education implemented at school? The research project was carried out among students of various colleges in the city of Szczecin, Poland. At the same time, similar studies were conducted among students from other universities in other cities. The research method was a diagnostic survey, with the main assessment tool being the ‘Questionnaire for Assessment of Implementation of Physical Education at Secondary School’ by K. Górna-Łukasik. On the basis of the study results, an attempt was made to determine the forms and methods of work and the involvement of various types of teachers in health education. Relationships between students' opinions on the methods of implementing the curriculum content, fields of study and gender of physical education teachers were searched for. The study results demonstrate a low degree of implementation of these educational contents. The Polish school offers students few forms of preparation for taking care of their own health.

Introduction: Functional and aesthetic problems can arise even from small losses created in the facial skeleton. Injuries and oncological surgeries are the most frequent causes of these losses within the facial skeleton. Advances in surgical interventions have allowed for ever-increasing degrees of resections, increasing oncological radicality as well as treatment effectiveness, providing the patient with the chance for a longer life. However, this subsequently requires the use of even more advanced reconstruction techniques in order to restore quality of life and comfort to the patient, as well as enable their return to professional and social activities. The necessity of reconstructive surgery applies not only to patients with cancer, but also to patients with impaired or failing sensory and organ function as a result of inflammatory conditions, injuries, or non-oncological surgeries. There are many available reconstruction procedures, which depend on the location of the loss, the type of tissue lost, the degree of loss and patient-dependent factors. Materials used in reconstruction surgeries may include the patients’ tissues when available, and artificial reconstruction materials otherwise. Material and methods: The analysis involved fragments of bone tissue removed during surgery. Due to the nature of the medical procedure and the inability to replant the tissue, it was regarded as medical waste. The preparations used were observed under an optical microscope and an electron scanning microscope, and a chemical analysis was performed. The chemical composition of samples was analysed using a low vacuum detector (LVD) at an accelerating voltage of 15 kV and 10 kV and at a spot size of 4 and 3.5. The observations were performed in a secondary electron (SE) detection system. Results: Observation of parameters under an optical microscope and of images obtained using an electron scanning microscope showed the presence of typical, compact bone tissue with varied surface shapes in each case (various degrees of unevenness and porosity). Chemical composition analysis confirmed the presence of compounds from the CaO-P2O5-H20 system. The Ca/P (calcium/phosphorus) ratio obtained from the chemical analysis varied from 1.33 to 2.1, and indicated a varied morphology of calcium phosphates forming the bone structures of the facial skeleton. Conclusions: 1. Calcium phosphates are characterised by excellent biocompatibility because of their chemical affinity to bone, and are ideal for the reconstruction of bone losses within the facial skeleton. 2. Biodegradable polymers have the highest functional potential among several groups of biomaterials used in tissue engineering because of their ability to be tailored individually, in addition to their high biocompatibility.

In the context of globalization and the denial of civic virtues the patriotic education of high school students is still an important issue. It involves not only the transmission of knowledge, but it is also combined with the formation of attitudes. Teaching civics, based on fair, universal values, plays a special role in implementation of these processes. The purpose of this paper is to show the patriotic education of students of secondary schools in the teaching of civics. Therefore, first will be shown the essence of patriotic education. Then there will be described the program assumptions and the forms and methods of patriotic education of high school students, implemented in the teaching of civics. There will also be shown – in the form of concluding observations – the areas of educational activities which a civics teacher should pay a special attention to.

Plant secondary metabolites have a variety of functions, including mediating relationships between organisms, responding to environmental challenges, and protecting plants against infections, pests, and herbivores. In a similar way, through controlling plant metabolism, plant microbiomes take part in many of the aforementioned processes indirectly or directly. Researchers have discovered that plants may affect their microbiome by secreting a variety of metabolites, and that the microbiome could likewise affect the metabolome of the host plant. Pesticides are agrochemicals that are employed to safeguard humans and plants from numerous illnesses in urban green zones, public health initiatives, and agricultural fields. The careless use of chemical pesticides is destroying our ecology. As a result, it is necessary to investigate environmentally benign alternatives to pathogen management, such as plant-based metabolites. According to literature, plant metabolites have been shown to have the ability to battle plant pathogens. Phenolics, flavonoids, and alkaloids are a few of the secondary metabolites of plants that have been covered in this study.

Objectives: Medical providers working with trauma survivors are exposed to the negative and positive effects of secondary trauma, both of which are affected by social support and job satisfaction. The aim of this study was to determine the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between social support and the negative and positive effects of secondary exposure to trauma among medical personnel. The negative indicator of such exposure was secondary traumatic stress (STS), while the positive indicator was secondary posttraumatic growth (SPTG). Material and Methods: The analyses included 419 medical providers working with trauma victims (201 paramedics and 218 nurses). Data was collected with the Secondary Traumatic Stress Inventory, Secondary Posttraumatic Growth Inventory, Social Support Scale, Work Satisfaction Scale, and survey. Mediation analyses were applied to assess relationships between variables. Results: The mediation analyses indicated that job satisfaction mediates (mainly partly) the relationship between social support and STS and SPTG. This may indicate that both social support and job satisfaction act as significant predictors of the negative and positive effects of secondary exposure to trauma. Conclusions: As a friendly and mutually-supportive environment can increase job satisfaction, reducing the risk of secondary traumatic stress and promoting positive posttraumatic changes, it is important to increase social support and job satisfaction among medical providers exposed to secondary trauma.

Problem zapewnienia kobietom wykształcenia na poziomie średnim stał się na ziemiach polskich niezwykle istotny w drugiej połowie XIX wieku. Kwestia ta była szczególnie aktualna w zaborze austriackim, gdy w latach 90. XIX wieku dziewczęta zostały dopuszczone do egzaminów maturalnych oraz studiów uniwersyteckich. W Galicji nie istniały jednak gimnazja żeńskie, a żaden z typów ówczesnych „średnich” szkół żeńskich (takich jak wyższe szkoły wydziałowe, seminaria nauczycielskie czy licea żeńskie) nie dawał możliwości zdania egzaminu maturalnego umożliwiającego wstęp na studia wyższe. Wobec niechęci władz państwowych do tworzenia państwowych gimnazjów żeńskich równych gimnazjom męskim, jedynym rozwiązaniem było tworzenie placówek prywatnych. Powstawały one jako odpowiedź na potrzeby społeczne i były efektem oddolnego społecznego działania. Pierwsza tego typu szkoła średnia – nie tylko na terenie Galicji, ale wszystkich trzech zaborów – powstała w 1896 roku w Krakowie. Przed wybuchem I wojny światowej funkcjonowały w Krakowie trzy klasyczne gimnazja żeńskie: I Prywatne Wyższe Gimnazjum Żeńskie, Prywatne Wyższe Gimnazjum Żeńskie im. Królowej Jadwigi oraz Prywatne Gimnazjum Żeńskie Heleny Strażyńskiej (potem: Józefa i Marii Lewickich) oraz gimnazjum realne sióstr urszulanek. Koncepcja prywatnego gimnazjum żeńskiego zyskała wpierw aprobatę społeczną, a stopniowo również dużą popularność. W galicyjskich gimnazjach uczyła się ponad połowa uczennic uczęszczających do gimnazjów żeńskich położonych na terenie Przedlitawii.
The issue of providing education to women became particularly important in the Polish territories during the second half of the 19th century. In the Austrian partition, women were allowed to take secondary school exit exams and enroll in universities in the 1890s. However, no female school at the time offered preparation to the aforementioned exams. As the government did not want to establish public all-female schools in the same way that it had created public all-male schools, a private solution was the only one. Private all-female schools emerged through a bottom-up effort as a response to the needs of society. The first school of this kind in Galicia – and all of the Polish territories – was established in Krakow in 1896. Before the outbreak of World War I, there were only four all-female secondary schools in Krakow. Still, with time, the concept of all-female secondary schools became very popular and more than half of the students of all-female secondary schools in the Habsburg Monarchy attended such schools in Galicia.

The main goal of this article is to find a constructive legal solution after incardinatio abnormis arose as a result of a legal dismissal of the member of the clerical religious Institute. By virtue of a legal dismissal decree, the punished religious-cleric looses a proper canonical status of being consecrated. The author discusses the meaning of the legal dismissal in the Code of Canon Law of 1983. Emphasis is placed on the consequences and circumstances of this act; especially in order to address the problem of incardination of a religious-cleric who was punished with a dismissal. Dimissio modo iure praescripto automatically excardinates from the religious Institute, however without any guarantee or a subjective right or faculty given to the punished cleric in order to be eligible to be incardinated to another ecclesial community according to the can. 265 CIC/83.

Przemiany użytkowania ziemi w ostatnich 20 latach przyczyniły się do powstania w naszym kraju znacznych powierzchni odłogów, które stwarzają nowe siedliska dla rozwoju spontanicznej roślinności i grzybów. Dotychczasowe dane o grzybach wielkoowocnikowych gruntów porolnych są znikome. W prezentowanej pracy przedstawiono wyniki dwuletnich obserwacji macromycetes na powierzchniach odłogów, usytułowanych w strefach otaczających wszystkie parki krajobrazowe w woj. łódzkim. Obserwacje te pozwoliły na wyodrębnienie 7 typów zbiorowisk roślinnych powstałych na odłogach oraz zanotowanie na nich 46 gatunków macromycetes. Roślinność obserwowanych odłogów wykazywała znaczne różnice strukturalne. Były tu pionierskie powierzchnie porośnięte jedynie porostami z rodzaju Cladonia, inicjalne stadia muraw, z dominacją traw (np. Agrostis capilllaris, Festuca ovina) oraz powierzchnie o znacznej liczbie gatunków roślin zielnych, zarówno łąkowych,  jak i leśnych. Odrębną grupę stanowiły powierzchnie porośnięte w przeważającej części gatunkami inwazyjnymi obcego pochodzenia, głównie Solidago canadensis i Padus serotina. Funga obserwowanych powierzchni wykazywała zróżnicowanie związane z typem roślinności. Najuboższe w grzyby okazały się powierzchnie inicjalnych muraw z chrobotkami lub roślinnością trawiastą oraz powierzchnie z dominacją Solidago canadensis. Występowały tu nieliczne owocniki gatunków z rodzaju  Bovista, Lycoperdon, Calvatia. Natomiast najbogatsze w gatunki grzybów były powierzchnie porośnięte drzewami, głównie sosnami, gdzie zanotowano gatunki grzybów mykoryzowych z rodzajów: Amanita, Boletus, Inocybe, Laccaria, Suillus, Xerocomus. Na odłogach z dużym pokryciem mszakami, obserwowano grzyby wykorzystujące mchy, np. Rickenella fibula i Arrhenia lobata. Dotychczasowe badania macromycetes na odłogach woj. łódzkiego dostarczają jedynie wstępnej wiedzy o różnorodności gatunkowej grzybów na tego typu siedliskach. Wydaje się celowe prowadzenia dalszych badań na tych samych powierzchniach i obserwowanie zmian, jakie będą zachodzić w strukturze macromycetes wraz z postępującą na odłogach sukcesją.
This study presents the species structure of macrofungi in different plant communities formed on fallows as a result of secondary succession. The mycological observations were carried out in 2012 and 2013 in the buffer zones of all landscape parks in the Łódzkie province, i.e. Bolimów LP, Spała LP, Sulejów LP, Warta-Widawka LP, Łódź Hills LP, Przedbórz LP and Załęcze LP. The botanical research identified fallows representing 7 types of plant communities. In total 46 macromycetes species were found on the fallows. The diversity of macrofungi depended on the type of plant community. The highest number of fungi species was found in the communities with an admixture of trees (Pinus sylvestris, Betula pendula), while the lowest was collected on fallows almost completely covered by Cirsium arvense and Solidago canadensis. Considering the trophic classification of macrofungi found on fallows, most species were saprotrophic and mycorrhizal. Wood inhabiting saprotrophs were represented by only two species.

The common problems of learners that contribute to absenteeism in school include malaria, cough/catarrh, typhoid, headache and stomach ache. This led to the formulation of national school health policy in Nigeria to promote health services in schools. In view of the foregoing, this study assesses principals’ perception of health services in secondary schools. The study population consists of 551 principals of secondary schools (public and private) in Kwara State, Nigeria. Purposive and convenience sampling techniques were employed to select 20 principals. Instrument tagged “Interview Protocol on Health Services (IPHS)” was used to elicit data from the participants. Data collected was transcribed and analysed via thematic approach. Findings revealed that majority of the schools does not have school clinic to dispense health services to learners. Our fidings also show that most of the schools lack health personnel and equipment. This study concludes that comprehensive health services were not provided for learners. The study recommends that the government should come up with policy statement on school health services that will help to provide quality health services to the learners. Adequate budget should be made by the government for the implementation of the policy. Lastly, the study provides practical and methodological contributions to the body of knowledge in the fild of education.

Smoking rates in coronary patients over the decade 1997–2007. Results of Cracovian Program for Secondary Prevention of Ischaemic Heart Disease and Polish parts of EUROASPIRE II and EUROASPIRE III surveysBackground: Smoking is one of the most important risk factors. Persisting smoking after an coronary event is related to significantly higher risk of the future cardiovascular complications. Studies performed in late nineties showed that a considerable percentage of patients continue with smoking after an coronary event. The aim of the present paper was to compare smoking rates in coronary patients in the post-discharge period in Krakow in 1997/1998, 1999/2000 and 2006/2007.Methods: Consecutive patients hospitalized from July 1, 1996 to September 31, 1997 (first survey), from March 1, 1998 to March 30, 1999 (second survey), and from April 1, 2005 to July 31, 2006 (third survey) due to acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina or for myocardial revascularization procedures, below the age of < 71 years were identified and then followed up, interviewed and examined 6–18 months after discharge. Self-reported smoking and breath carbon monoxide was analysed.Results: The number of patients who participated in the follow-up examinations were: 418 (78.0%) in the first survey, 427 (82.9%) in the second and 427 (79.1%) in the third survey. There was no significant change in smoking (self-reported) rates (16% vs 16% vs 19%; p = NS). When breath carbon monoxide was also analysed once again the difference did not reach significance (18% in 1999–2000 and 23% in 2006–2007; p = NS). Nicotine replacement therapy, bupropion or varenicline were also not used (0% vs 0.2% vs 0.5%; p = NS).Conclusion: The smoking rate in coronary patients over the decade from 1997/1998 to 2006/2007 did not changed significantly. The pharmacotherapy for smoking is almost not used in coronary patients.

Wykonano badania mineralogiczne i geochemiczne mineralizacji septarii z ciemnych iłów występujących w Gnaszynie koło Częstochowy. Reprezentują one dolną część środkowego batonu. Rozpoznana mineralizacja to piryt, sfaleryt, galena, syderyt i kalcyt, które lokują się we wnętrzu septarii. Spękania septarii mogą być związane z procesami diagenezy lub ze zjawiskami tektonicznymi, które w miękkich iłach są niewidoczne. Mineralizacja ma charakter wtórny. Obecność niewielkich ilości kruszców może być związana z siarczkami triasu i niższej części jury redeponowanymi do zbiornika jurajskiego. Roztwory mineralizujące septarie zostały po sedymentacji iłów i czasie ich diagenezy. Po spękaniu septarii roztwory te wnikały w powstałe w septariach szczeliny prowadząc do ich mineralizacji.
Mineralogical and geochemical examination of septaria from dark silts present in Gnaszyn near Częstochowa was conducted. They represent the lower part of the Middle Bathonian. Recognized mineralization includes pyrite, sphalerite, galena, siderite and calcite, localized inside the septaria. The cracks in septaria may be connected with the processes of diagenesis or with tectonic phenomena that are invisible in soft silts. The mineralization is secondary. Presence of small amounts of ores may be linked with the Triassic and lower Jurrasic sulphides redeposited in the Jurrasic pool. Mineralizing solutions were left after silts sedimentation and during their diagenesis. After the septaria cracked, the solutions were absorbed into the cracks, causing their mineralization.

Endwall flows are among the most important sources of loss in turbines. The process of formation of endwall flows and evolution of vorticity from the endwall boundary layers is briefly described in the paper. The resulting endwall losses are discussed. The endwall boundary layer losses are evaluated theoretically by integrating the entropy increase in the boundary layer and assuming a certain model of blade profile load. The endwall losses are also calculated with the help of CFD in a 3D straight turbine cascade of Durham and compared with the results of available experimental data of ERCOFTAC.
Przepływy brzegowe stanowią jedno z głównych źródeł strat w turbinach. W pracy w skrócie wyjaśniono proces formowania się przepływów brzegowych i ewolucję wirowości pochodzącej z brzegowych warstw przyściennych. Przedyskutowano wynikające stąd straty przepływu. Wyznaczono teoretycznie straty przepływu w brzegowej warstwie przyściennej poprzez całkowanie przyrostu entropii wzdłuż warstwy brzegowej i zakładając pewien model obciążenia profilu łopatkowego. Z pomocą programów komputerowych numerycznej mechaniki płynów wyznaczono także przepływ i straty brzegowe w prostej palisadzie turbinowej Durham i porównano otrzymane rezultaty z danymi eksperymentalnymi ERCOFTAC.

Wzrost udziału biopaliw i stałych paliw wtórnych jako źródeł energii w bilansie paliwowo- -energetycznym przyczynia się do poprawy efektywności wykorzystania i do oszczędzania zasobów surowców energetycznych oraz do redukcji ilości wytwarzanych odpadów. W Polsce, coraz częściej spala się biomasę i stałe paliwa wtórne z węglem, jako mieszanki energetyczne. Istnieje zatem potrzeba opracowania szczegółowych procedur w zakresie pobierania i przygotowywania próbek biopaliw i stałych paliw wtórnych. W procedurach tych powinno być uwzględnione zróżnicowanie tych paliw pod względem jakości, uziarnienia i zagęszczenia. W artykule przedstawiono wytyczne dotyczące sposobu pobierania próbek do badań fizykochemicznych i określania dokładności pobierania. W celu zoptymalizowania sposobu opróbowania biomasy lub stałych paliw wtórnych wykonano badania wpływu uziarnienia, wielkości i liczby próbek pierwotnych na precyzję opróbowania. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników stwierdzono, że w przypadku większości biopaliw stałych i stałych paliw wtórnych optymalna liczba próbek pierwotnych, które należy pobrać z partii do 1000 t, powinna wynosić minimum 36, w przypadku mieszanek stałych paliw wtórnych, należy pobrać minimum 54 próbki pierwotne. W przypadku biopaliw, które charakteryzują się małym zróżnicowaniem jakościowym (zrębki, trociny) wystarczy pobranie próbek pierwotnych o masie nie mniejszej niż 1,5 kg. Próbki pierwotne mieszanek stałych paliw wtórnych powinny mieć masę minimum 3 kg. dla trocin i mieszanek różnego rodzaju paliw wtórnych najlepsze wyniki uzyskano przy rozdrobnieniu poniżej 1 mm. W przypadku odpadów butelkowych pet i zrębek drzewnych, ze względu na ich jednorodność pod względem zawartości popiołu, wystarczające jest rozdrobnienie do uziarnienia poniżej 2 mm.

The article discusses the phenomenon of stator Wake/Rotor cascade (W/R) interaction in a steam turbine stage, and the ability to capture it in turbine stage design calculations making use of standard numerical codes. Firstly, the W/R interaction is analysed by comparing its real, experimentally recorded course with the numerical results obtained using vortex theory models and methods. This part of the analysis ends with formulating a conclusion about stochastic nature of the W/R interaction and indicating its reason, which is the vortex structure of the stator wake. Next, a question is discussed whether and how this stochastic nature of the examined phenomenon can be taken into account in calculations of Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations. Differences are indicated between the uniform pattern of the stator wake obtained using a RANS code and the vortex structure of the real wake. It is concluded, however, that despite these differences the RANS results correctly reflect the time-averaged course of the real W/R interaction, and the process of averaging the flow parameters on the sliding plane between stator and rotor calculation areas can be treated as sort of “numerical averaging” of different realisations of the W/R interaction.

A specimen of the ‘Gardnos breccia’ was explored, in which granitic gneiss clasts were found to dominate over a dark matrix. Some clasts retained their cataclastic structure. The matrix of the specimen showed various colours, such as gray, black, and beige, while exhibiting different levels of hardness. In addition, the matrix appeared as an almost isotropic and microcrystalline mass. Quartz, K-feldspar, biotite and plagioclase were identified as the main minerals of the rock. No impact-generated features were observed in the minerals; however, biotite crystals showed decorated kinky bands. In cataclastic clasts, a net of black micro-veins was found, which can be interpreted as pseudotachylite. These veins were composed of a dark non-cohesive glassy mass and carbonaceous micro-aggregates. Furthermore, such carbonaceous aggregated particles were also observed in the black matrix. The white-greenish domains containing isotropic and microcrystalline aggregates of quartz and feldspars showed partial anisotropy. Domains were surrounded by a light recrystallising polycrystalline quartz. Hard black clasts of the matrix and the white-greenish domains showed great similarity in their mineral composition. The results of the X-ray diffraction analyses revealed the minerals as quartz, K-feldspar, muscovite and chlorite (clinochlore). In the white-greenish domains, albite was found as an additional component, whereas it was absent in the black matrix. The black matrix, which was interpreted as a pseudotachylite relic, also seemed to contain allochthonic components. Fluorite, calcite, and Fe-oxides were identified as the secondary minerals that were crystallised in the free spaces of the rock, filling the voids and cracks during the postimpact stage. Oriented glassy spherules, fragments with fluidal texture, and a fragment of the semi-vesicular glassy domain were noted in the specimen, which were probably relics of the suevite breccia. Thus, the analysed breccia seemed to be an intermediate type between the ‘Gardnos breccia’ and the black-matrix breccia and suevite.
Uwagi o okazie ‘brekcji Gardnos’, Norwegia. W egzemplarzu skały znanej jako ‘brekcja Gardnos’ klasty granito-gnejsu dominują nad ciemną matriks. Niektóre klasty zachowały strukturę kataklastyczną. Matriks wykazywała różne kolory, szary, czarny i beżowy, a także różną twardość. Matriks była głównie masą izotropową i mikrokrystaliczną. Kwarc, K-skaleń, biotyt i plagioklaz są głównymi minerałami skały. W minerałach nie zaobserwowano struktur charakterystycznych dla impaktu, jednak w kryształach biotytu odnotowano dekorowane spękania ‘kinky’. W klastach kataklastycznych sieć czarnych mikrożyłek można interpretować jako pseudotachylit. Te żyły składają się z ciemnej, niespoistej szklistej masy, w tym z węglistych mikroagregatów. Zagregowane takie cząstki zaobserwowano również w macierzy czarnej. Biało-zielonawe domeny mikrokrystalicznych agregatów kwarcu i skaleni wykazały częściową anizotropię w partiach izotropowych. W domenach, zielonawe centra stopu skaleniowego otoczone są jasnym, rekrystalizującym polikrystalicznym kwarcem. Twarde czarne klasty macierzy i biało-zielonawe domeny charakteryzują się dużym podobieństwem w składzie minerałów. Analizy dyfrakcji rentgenowskiej wykazały, że były to kwarc, K-skalenie, muskowit i chloryt (klinochlor). W biało-zielonawych domenach dodatkowo występuje albit, nieobecny w czarnej macierzy. Macierz ta interpretowana jako relikt pseudotachylitu zawiera prawdopodobnie również składniki allochtoniczne. Fluoryt, kalcyt i tlenki żelaza były minerałami wtórnymi krystalizowanymi w wolnych przestrzeniach skały i wypełniały puste przestrzenie i pęknięcia w procesach poimpaktowych. Zorientowane szkliste sferule, fragmenty o fluidalnej teksturze i fragment szklistej domeny semi-pęcherzykowej są prawdopodobnie reliktami brekcji suevitu. Analizowana brekcja wydaje się być typem pośrednim między ‘brekcją Gardnos’ a brekcją z czarną matriks i suevitem.

The quality and content of English language courses offered in secondary schools require special attention as they affect many students who learn English as one of their school subjects. Despite curricular provisions prescribing balanced development of language competence and a number of so-called “key competences”, class work in Polish upper-secondary schools heavily focuses on developing students’ selected language skills and language systems, i.e. the areas that are tested during school-exit exams, neglecting civic competences (i.e. group work) and digital skills. It is suggested that technology-assisted project-based language learning can help remedy this situation. Accordingly, the aim of this article is to outline a class project that illustrates the integration of project-based learning approach in language (English) and content (Polish language and culture) learning, the execution of which necessitates collaboration in groups, as well as the use of technology. It is hoped that the presented project will provide inspiration and guidance on how to engage upper-secondary school students in meaningful project work so that the development of target competences can be facilitated.

The aim of the study was to investigate the influence of plant growth regulators on callus culture of common thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) and the possibility of using such callus cultures to obtain rosmarinic acid. The explants used to initiate shoot culture were the seeds of common thyme. The seeds were individually placed into test tubes with MS culture media of macro- and micro-element content according to Murashige and Skoog (1962). For the purpose of initiation of cultures, leaves dissected along the vascular bundle were used. The leaves were placed on MS medium with the addition of BAP in combination with NAA in a concentration of 3 and 5 mg•dm-3. Propagation of callus cultures was conducted with the use of fragments of callus tissue placed on MS media supplemented with BAP used separately in a concentration of 3 mg•dm-3, and in combination with NAA (1, 2, 3 mg•dm-3) and 2,4-D in a concentration of 0.5, 1 or 1.5 mg•dm-3 respectively. In each stage of the experiment, explants placed on MS media without the addition of plant growth regulators were the control. It was found that initiation of common thyme cultures should be conducted on MS media without plant growth regulators. For the purpose of initiation of callus culture of common thyme, the optimal culture medium was MS with the addition of 3 mg•dm-3 BAP and NAA. Propagation of callus tissue of common thyme should be conducted on culture media supplemented with 3 mg•dm-3 BAP used in combination with 1 mg•dm-3 NAA. It was observed that the mass of the propagated callus tissue decreased with an increase of NAA content.

The article presents the beginnings of remote learning in Poland (March-June 2020) in the context of teaching mathematics at the secondary level, as recounted by selected students and teachers. The empirical research upon which this article is based was conducted for the purposes of a master's thesis. The research was carried out in two stages. The first stage presents remote mathematics teaching as perceived by selected teachers and their students, based on two summative questionnaires. The second stage consists of a qualitative analysis of teaching polynomials from the perspective of three pairs of participants: teacher and student. The article shows various issues concerning remote teaching, analyses the effectiveness of the forms and methods of this approach, signals selected shortcomings and defects both in the work of teachers and students as well as selected causes for the difficulties in the implementation of remote teaching, while also highlighting its positive aspects.

The paper presents partial results of a quantitative research survey that deals with the views of teachers of Czech Language and Literature at lower-secondary schools in the Vysočina Region on the implementation of the Shoah theme when teaching literature. In the paper we present the results of this hypothesis validation: 1) teachers whose second field of study is History have a higher implementation rate index than teachers otherwise certified; 2) teachers looking for books with historical themes to read during their own leisure time have a higher implementation rate index than other tested teachers; 3) male teachers show a higher implementation rate index than female teachers; 4) teachers with 20 years’ experience (inclusive) and more show a higher implementation rate index than those with experience of 19 years or less.

School burnout is defined as a reaction to experiencing chronic stress resulting from educational failures of previously strongly engaged students. This leads to psychological discomfort, physical and psychological exhaustion, as well as withdrawal. The syndrome contains three components: emotional exhaustion (the pupil experiences exhaustion with regard to schoolrelated requirements); cynicism (depersonalisation, characterised by a feeling of detachment from and indifference to tasks imposed on pupils by the school) and a feeling of inadequacy (the pupil feels inadequate with regard to the fulfilment of school requirements). Exhaustion due to school activities has negative impact not only on current functioning, but also on future educational and occupational plans. It causes many problem behaviours (such as truancy, violence, psychoactive substance abuse, delinquency), serious health problems (depression, heart disease, psychosomatic illness). The study investigated the links between school burnout and functioning as a school pupil and the quality of relationships among lower secondary school students.

In the article I present a multidimensional analysis of the Act of 18 March 2011 on the amendment of the Act – The Law on higher education, The Act on academic degrees and academic titles as well as on degrees and titles related to art study – in particular – a new academic role in Phd studies, defined as auxiliary supervisor. In 2014 it underwent an amendment, which has not changed anything in this case, despite numerous critical opinions towards solutions introduced as an amendment in 2011.
W artykule przedstawiam wielopłaszczyznową analizę ustawy sejmowej z dnia 18 marca 2011 r. o zmianie ustawy – Prawo o szkolnictwie wyższym, ustawy o stopniach naukowych i tytule naukowym oraz o stopniach i tytule w zakresie sztuki - w szczególności - nową rolę akademicką w przewodach doktorskich, którą określono mianem promotora pomocniczego. W 2014 r. miała miejsce jej nowelizacja, która w tym przypadku niczego nie zmieniła mimo wielu krytycznych opinii w stosunku do rozwiązań wprowadzonych nowelizacją z 2011 r.

The notary Andrzej Cinciała (1825–1898) of Cieszyn left behind his Diary, written in 1846–1853. In his notes, which he kept regularly, almost daily in the early years, we find a detailed description of the activities of both the author and his circle of friends, including those forming the Polish national movement in Cieszyn Silesia. Diary contains numerous apt observations on everyday life, including the author’s opinions about the clergy of the time. The article, which is based on analysis of the contents of Diary, attempts to present issues concerning reception of the work of priests and pastors influencing the educational fate of secondary school pupils from Cieszyn Silesia. It would be a truism to point out that for generations the clergy have served as mentors and arbitrators for certain layers of society. However, contrary to the traditional view put forth by Polish historiography, among them therewere not only charismatic leaders, but also people who avoided honest service.

Over the years, many mechanoregulation concepts of fracture healing have been developed. They all assume that higher values of the stimulus in the fracture gap cause the formation of a fibrous tissue and only lower values can lead to the formation of bone tissue. A literature review of the numerical evaluation of bone fracture healing has revealed some shortcomings in the existing studies. Scientists often focus on only one of the three phases of fracture healing. In addition, studies are often carried out with the use of only transverse fractures. The aim of the study is to develop an algorithm for the numerical evaluation of bone fracture healing, which can be used for both transverse as well as oblique fractures. To conduct the research, the authors proposed an algorithm that considers all phases occurring in secondary healing: 1 – hematoma formation, 2 – tissue differentiation, 3 – bone tissue remodeling. Appropriate CAD models of simplified fracture were designed that additionally considered two variables: fracture angle (from 0° to 45°) and fracture gap (from 2.5 mm to 10.0 mm). Axial loading was used in order to generate mechanobiological stimulus. The obtained results presented a significant influence of the analyzed variables on the studied process. This proved that the designed algorithm can be used to speed up the treatment process and enable designing a more effective rehabilitation procedure for an individual patient.

As the amount of high-capacity secondary battery waste gradually increased, waste secondary batteries for industry (high-speed train & HEV) were recycled and materialization studies were carried out. The precipitation experiment was carried out with various conditions in the synthesis of LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 material using a Taylor reactor. The raw material used in this study was a leaching solution generated from waste nickel-based batteries. The nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) precursor was prepared by the Taylor reaction process. Material analysis indicated that spherical powder was formed, and the particle size of the precursor was decreased as the reaction speed was increased during the preparation of the NCM. The spherical NCM powder having a particle size of 10 μm was synthesized using reaction conditions, stirring speed of 1000 rpm for 24 hours. The NCM precursor prepared by the Taylor reaction was synthesized as a cathode material for the LIB, and then a coin-cell was manufactured to perform the capacity evaluation.

In order to improve the efficiency and ensure the security of power supply used in a mine, this paper mainly studies the quasi-resonant flyback secondary power supply and analyzes its operational principles based on the requirements of soft-switching technology. In accordance with the maximum energy of a short-circuit and the request of maximum output voltage ripple, this paper calculates the spectrum value of the output filter capacitor and provides its design and procedures to determine the parameters of the main circuit of power supply. The correctness and availability of this theory are eventually validated by experiments.

Opis:
Weathering processes of minerals which are presented in the Morasko meteorite are characterized by different speed of the secondary changes. The most resistant minerals for the alternations are phosphites (schreibersite, rhabdite, nickielphosphide) and carbides (cohenite) but also the mentioned phases show secondary fluctuation. Phosphites are changing into metallic, phosphorus free phases, which are similar to native nickel or avaurite (awaruitu) with very well visible modification of its crystal morphology. All phosphorus amount is introduced to secondary phosphates like vivianite. The carbides alternation processes occur in a different way than in case of phosphates. Carbon is free to the environment up to time, when the new phase is totally decomposed and replaced by hydroxyoxide of iron. Sometimes, the high-nickel metallic phases are also noted as the products of the weathering. All described mineral phases, that are resistant for secondary alternation might be indicators for high evolved meteoritic material in the Earth’s weathered rocks.
Wietrzenie poszczególnych faz mineralnych, obecnych we fragmentach meteorytu Morasko, przebiega w różnym tempie. Za najbardziej odporne uznaje się fosforki (schreibersyt, rhabdyt, nickielphosphide) oraz węgliki (cohenit). Jednak po pewnym czasie również i te fazy ulegają rozpadowi. Z fosforków wyraźnie ubywa fosforu i przekształcają się one stopniowo w fazy metaliczne, zbliżone do taenitu lub awaruitu. Towarzyszy temu zmiana morfologii kryształów. Uwolniony fosfor wchodzi w skład wtórnych fosforanów typu wiwianit (vivianit). Węgliki zachowują się nieco odmiennie. Węgiel zostaje stopniowo uwalniany do środowiska a w dalszym etapie faza ta ulega całkowitemu rozpadowi przechodząc w wodorotlenki żelaza. Jednymi z ostatnich faz, które można dostrzec wśród wodorotlenków żelaza są wtórne fazy wysokoniklowe. Powyższe odporne na wietrzenie fazy, jako nieobecne na powierzchni Ziemi (z wyjątkiem krzemianów), mogą służyć identyfikacji meteorytowego pochodzenia silnie zwietrzałych skał.

The limited availability of natural raw materials leads to a search for solutions facilitating their acquisition from already manufactured goods, which at the end of their life cycle become a source of secondary raw materials. To ensure the availability of secondary raw materials, it is necessary to organize logistics processes in such a way as to ensure the synchronisation of material and information flows. An important role for the efficiency of the logistics system of secondary raw materials is the organisation of the subsystem of their collection, including setting collection dates and delivery of appropriate logistic units to customers. The article presents the results of a survey on a group of individual customers assessing their customer satisfaction with the organisation of secondary raw material collection. The CSI index was used to assess satisfaction. This evaluation became the basis for identifying the information gap in customer service. A conceptual solution to improve the information flow between operators and customers in the form of a mobile application was proposed as a solution to the disruption in this area.

Secondary arsenic minerals (SAM) formed recently in abandoned adits of the former Au-As mine at Złoty Stok (SW Poland) constitute two assemblages. The first consists of two types of scorodite, pitticite, kaňkite, hörnesite, picropharmacolite and minor amounts of jarosite and gypsum. Formation of the Fe arsenates took place under acidic conditions (pH ~3-4) as a result of löllingite, arsenopyrite and pyrite oxidation. Hörnesite and picropharmacolite crystallized as products of interactions between acidic arsenic-rich pore solutions with Mg-Ca carbonates from rocks that surround the ore mineralisation. The interaction of carbonates with acid pore solutions caused a rapid increase in pH that reached neutral or weakly alkaline values. The chemical compositions of hörnesite and picropharmacolite correspond well to their ideal compositions: (Mg3.17Ca0.07)Ʃ3.24(AsO4)1.90 8H2O and Ca4.31Mg0.92(HasO4)1.91[(AsO4)1.99(SO4)0.01]Ʃ2.00 11H2O, respectively. The second assemblage of SAM comprises exclusively the Mg-enriched erythrite [(Co1.66Mg1.03Ni0.28Ca0.05Zn0.02)Σ3.03(AsO4)1.99× 8H2O)] – annabergite [(Ni1.48Mg0.94Co0.66Ca0.12Fe0.01Zn0.01)S3.20AsO4)1.92× 8H2O] series. These minerals crystallized from slightly acidic (pH ~5–6) to neutral media. Dissolution of SAM and other secondary phases (e.g., schwertmannite) causes the release of arsenate and sulphate ions into mine waters. These ions can be reduced under anaerobic conditions by different strains of bacteria. The product of this proces is orpiment.

Results of numerical investigations based on a 3D RANS solver FlowER, explaining the effects of geometrical and flow parameters on the development of endwall flows are presented. The blade height-to-chord ratio, flow turning in the cascade, inlet angle and radial distribution of pressure and profile load are considered here. It is also shown how the secondary flow patterns change in the case of non-nominal incidence at the suction side of the blade and due to interaction with shroud leakage and periodical turbine wakes.
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki obliczeń numerycznych wpływu parametrów geometrycznych i przepływowych palisady turbinowej na rozwój przepływów brzegowych. Rozważano wpływ stosunku wysokość/cięciwa łopatki, odchylenia przepływu w palisadzie, kąta wlotowego oraz promieniowego rozkładu ciśnienia i obciążenia profilu. Pokazano także jak zmienia się obraz przepływów wtórnych w przypadku nienominalnego napływu na stronę ssącą łopatki oraz podczas oddziaływania przepływu głównego z przeciekiem nadbandażowym i periodycznymi śladami spływowymi. Obliczenia wykonano z pomocą programu FlowER, solwera modelu 3D RANS.

Intensywne dyskusje w obszarze polityki edukacyjnej dotyczące złego funkcjonowaniapolskiego systemu szkolnego doprowadziły pod koniec lat 90-tychdo głębokich jego zmian. Głównymi elementami sukcesywnie wprowadzanychreform było wprowadzenie w 1999 nowej struktury szkolnictwa, co skutkowałostworzeniem nowej podstawy programowej, organizacji centralnych egzaminówi powołaniem komisji egzaminacyjnych. Badania PISA, realizowane w okresiepomiędzy 2000 i 2015 wykazały, że wprowadzone zmiany poskutkowałypozytywnymi wynikami w odniesieniu do nauczania matematyki. W obliczuaktualnie wprowadzanych reform, z dydaktycznego punktu widzenia staje sięinteresujące zbadanie tych instrumentów sterowania, co do których możnaprzyjąć, że mają pozytywny wpływ na osiągane wyniki. Z badań empirycznychprowadzonych w Niemczech wynika, że na przebieg procesu nauczaniawpływ instrumentów, w których manifestują sie oczekiwane efekty (np. Curriculum,Standardy itp.) jak i tych, w których odbijają się obserwowalne efekty(np. egzaminy) jest duży. Z powodów formalnych można przyjąć, że dla poziomulower secondary education (ISCED 2) takim instrumentem jest egzamingimnazjalny. Dla przedmiotu matematyka na efekty typu obserwowalnewpływ mogą mieć np. struktura zadań egzaminacyjnych jak i cechy generująceich poziom trudności. Ten to aspekt badawczy był brany pod uwagę w artykuleScheja (2017). Tam koncepcja kognitywnej aktywizacji została użyta doanalizy i oceny pełnego zestawu zadań z egzaminów gimnazjalnych z okresupomiędzy 2002 i 2015. Jednak we wspomnianym artykule nie został wziętypod uwagę wpływ reformy egzaminów, dokonany w roku 2012 ze względu nawprowadzone wtedy zmiany w podstawach programowych, dlatego też wynikiprzeprowadzonych tam analiz powinny być raczej oceniane jako niespójne.Obecny artykuł poszerza to podejście o perspektywę rozwojową. Badaniaprzekrojowe dotyczą zadań matematycznych z egzaminów gimnazjalnych z lat2002–2005 (N = 65) i 2012–2015 (N = 92). Został opisany i zanalizowanyzawarty w nich poziom kognitywnych wymagań. Jest to poziom kognitywnejaktywizacji, czyli wymiar złożoności odnoszony do kategorii kognitywnych,które potencjalnie mogą być zidentyfikowane w procesie rozwiązania zadania.Dla analizy zadań przyjęto 6 kategorii, w których rozróżniane są czterypoziomy kognitywnej kompleksowości: modelowanie praktyczne, modelowaniematematyczne, argumentacja, wykorzystanie matematycznych reprezentacji,sprawność wykonywania działań matematycznych i posługiwanie się matematycznymtekstem.Celem badań jest prześledzenie pod tym względem czasowych zmian obserwowanychw strukturze i stopniu złożoności zadań egzaminacyjnych. Natej podstawie możliwe jest – poszerzając perpektywę badawczą – szukanieodpowiedzi na pytania dotyczące stopnia powiązania zadań egzaminacyjnychz podstawą programową.Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika między innymi, że:• Centralnym typem matematycznych zagadnień w dwóch seriach zadańjest spodziewane modelowanie. Duże różnice wystepują jednak w proponowanymkontekście tych zadań. W okresie 2002–2005 mocno dominujązadania umieszczone w kontekście praktycznym, głównie o średnimpoziomie kognitywnej kompeksowości. W latach 2012–2015 możnastwierdzić koncepcyjne przesunięcie w obrębie modelowania w kierunkumatematycznego modelowania o średniej i wysokiej kompleksowości kognitywnej.W tych dwóch kognitywnych kategoriach zaznacza się dużyzwiązek zadań egzaminacyjnych z podstawami programowymi.W przeciwieństwie do modelowania, potrzeba argumentacji jest wymienionatylko w jednym zadaniu z okresu 2002–2005, zaś pomiędzy 2012i 2015 w około 11% wszystkich zadań. Tutaj analogiczne – skutkowaniepodstawy programowej na poziom tej kognitywnej umiejętności, w szczególnościw latach wprowadzania egzaminu gimnazjalnego, jest bardzoograniczone.• Średni poziom kognitywny wykorzystania matematycznych reprezentacjijest a) porównywalnie wysoki i b) wzrasta lekko w zadaniach po reformieegzaminu w 2012. Zadania z lat 2002–2005 cechują się jednak – wbrewoczekiwaniom – brakiem szerokiego rozłożenia kompeksowości tej umiejętnościna wszystkie cztery stopnie.• Średni poziom wymagań sprawności w wykonywaniu matematycznychobliczeń, w porównaniu do pozostałych kognitywnych umiejętności możebyć oceniony w obu okresach jako wysoki. Odpowiada on zarazem poziomowitej umiejetności w Zentrale Pr¨ufung ZP 10, porównywalnemuinstrumentowi zewnętrznego pomiaru osiągnięć w Nadrenii Północnej-Westfalii (Niemcy) po dziesiątej klasie.Średni poziom obu zestawów zadań w posługiwaniu się matematycznymtekstem jest a) w porównaniu do badania PISA wysoki, zarazemb) w obydwu zestawach zadań raczej ograniczenie porównywalny. Podpunktb) jest spowodowany przede wszystkim częściowym przemieszczeniem w latach 2012-2015 zadań z poziomu „0” na poziom wysoki w tejkategorii.Można wieęc stwierdzić, że rozkład zadań na kognitywne kategorie i ich stopniekompeksowości w zadaniach egzaminu gimnazjalnego jest w dwóch badanychzestawach tylko ograniczenie porównywalny. Do wspólnej charakterystyki zadańzaliczyć można względnie wysoki poziom kognitywnych umiejętności, któryjest generowany dość szerokim zakresem aktywności i ich raczej wysokimpoziomem. Fundamentalna różnica w zadaniach matematycznych po reformieegzaminu gimnazjalnego w roku 2012 w stosunku do zadań wcześniejszychpolega na mierze i poziomie wymagań dotyczących modelowania oraz argumentowania.

The basic question I pose in this paper is the following: What language strategies are used by students who find it difficult to reproduce the content required during a secondary school final examination interviews? The text consists of four main parts. In the first part, on the basis of legal acts, I describe the formula of the new secondary school final examination in Polish, taking into account its purpose and course. In the second part, I focus my attention on one part of the oral exam – the final examinationinterview– seeing it as a species functioning in the educational discourse. The third part contains the results of the analysis of the questions asked to the students during the secondary school final examination interviews. In the last part of the paper, I describe two attitudes adopted by students in a situation when their knowledge is insufficient to be able to fully answer the questions asked. The first positive attitude is expressed through an uncertainty strategy or a ‘loud thinking’ strategy that supports recollection. On the other hand, the second attitude – negative – characterises those students who are unable to recreate knowledge and who, breaking the overriding principle of cooperation, resign from taking part in the conversation by refusing, i.e. by sending a message informing about breaking contact, or by silence. Finally, I postulate that during the examination, more often open questions should be asked, triggering higher level thinking, seeing this as an opportunity to bring the final exam closer to ‘real communication,’ serving as information and giving the student the opportunity both to demonstrate knowledge and, more importantly, the right to express their own judgments, reflections and views on the issues raised. Perhaps then they would not have to use strategies masking his ignorance.

The studied bogs of the Siedlce Heights in eastern Poland are currently undergoing decession. In the course of pedological studies, a significant modification of the structure of soil profiles caused by the murshing process was found. The total contents of carbon and nitrogen values (TC/TN = 11.1–17.3) obtained in the study, as well as slight acidification (pHKCl 5.42–6.15) indicate the eutrophy of the studied soil environment, high biological activity and a significant degree of organic matter processing as a result of the processes of mineralization and humification. In addition, the upper levels covered by the process of murshing, compared to peat, are characterized by lower carbon content and, most often, similar nitrogen content. In the studied soils, humic substances are mostly represented by the fraction of humic acids. As a consequence, high values of the quotient expressing quantitative relations between soil humus fractions (HAs/FAs) were noted. For all profiles, the highest share of fulvic acids was recorded in turf murshic levels (M1). The occurrence of the most mature humic acids was found in the peat levels not covered by secondary transformation processes after dehydration.

This academic study maps the views of secondary school teachers on civic competencies in Czech Republic based on research surveys. Civic competencies are important key competencies that influence secondary school students and form them into free and responsible personalities living in a democratic society. These competencies take part in creating a student’s identity, particularly social and cultural. This study aims to find out what the views are of secondary school teachers on civic competencies. It also aims to propose solutions to take part in systematic preparations for teaching jobs and teacher education. Our main research tool was the internet survey downloadable from the internet. Teachers were informed about the survey via e-mail sent to every secondary school listed in the Czech Ministry of Education register. It has been processed on the first level of sorting and we interpreted the data based on the descriptive method.

The change of career aspirations among students who have just started secondary education is a determinant of changes in the network of secondary schools. That is mostly apparent when we analyse the intake of students during the successive school years. While basic vocational schools are less and less common in school complexes, technical schools gain more popularity among the young. Many questions that arise with respect to the future of the Polish labour market reflect the most important concern: will the market provide any qualified craftsmen? The author of the article tries to find out what the cause of the situation might be - whether educational background in a primary school and "gimnazjum" (lower secondary school) is so high, or whether the level of education in a "technikum" (technical secondary school) had been adjusted (lowered) to students' expectations. The objective of this paper is to highlight this trend and look for the reasons of the phenomenon.

In order to simulate non-symmetrical boundary layer suction in an annular compressor, a cascade investigation has been performed with single-sided suction slots only. A preceding investigation had revealed a high potential for loss reduction by two different types of boundary layer suction. The experimental investigation was performed with five NACA 65-k48 stator blades at the design Mach number of 0.67 and Reynolds number of 560.000. The two investigated suction geometries are a narrow slot following the design of Peacock and a wider slot of own origin, both slots are positioned on one side of the passage only. The Peacock slot is placed in the corner between suction side of the vane and the side wall, the wider slot is positioned from suction side to pressure side following the side wall’s flow detachment line. With half the suction rate of the preceding investigation the efficiency of the cascade could still be enhanced. In the case with 2.5% suction rate the total pressure loss coefficient of the full passage was decreased by 13%, in the case with 1% suction rate the loss coefficient was decreased by even 10%. The outflow of the cascade is as expected no more symmetrical and the one sided suction has no large impact on the flow of the opposite side of the passage.
W pracy przeprowadzono symulację problemu zasysania czynnika w niesymetrycznej warstwie przyściennej sprężarki, analizując kaskadę z jednostronnymi wlotami ssącymi. Badania poprzedzające ujawniły wysoki potencjał w ograniczaniu strat przy zastosowaniu dwóch różnych rozwiązań sposobu zasysania w warstwie przyściennej. Doświadczenia przeprowadzono, używając pięciu łopatek kierownicy sprężarki NACA 65-K48 projektowanej do przepływu przy prędkości 0.67Ma i liczby Reynoldsa 560000. Geometria obydwu rozwiązań zasysania wykorzystuje projekt wąskiej szczeliny wlotowej R.E. Peacocka oraz projekt własny szczeliny szerszej, przy czym obydwa typy umiejscowiono wyłącznie po jednej stronie kanału przelotowego. Szczelinę Peacocka umieszczono w rogu pomiędzy stroną ssącą łopatki oraz ściany, natomiast szczelina szeroka pokrywa obszar od strony ssącej do sprężającej wzdłuż linii odrywania przepływu. Przy tempie zasysania stanowiącym połowę wydatku stosowanego w poprzedzających badaniach nadal odnotowano możliwość zwiększenia sprawności kaskady. Przy spadku tempa ssania do 2.5%, współczynnik całkowitych strat ciśnienia zmalał o 13%, natomiast dla dalszego spadku do 1% współczynnik ten zmniejszył się o 10%. Zgodnie z oczekiwaniami wypływ z kaskady utracił symetrię, a zasysanie jednostronne nie zmieniło znacząco charakteru przepływu na przeciwnej stronie kanału przelotowego.

The main products of terrestrial weathering of metallic phases in Nantan meteorite are represented by: goethite, lepidocrocite and others nonstructural Fe-hydroxides with differ hydratation ratio. Sometimes iron hydroxides are associated with high-nickel phases. Hydrated iron phosphates are observed like, e.g. vivianite, in vicinity schreibersite. Only phosphides, relics of taenite and the hight-nickel phases are preserved in strongly weathered specimens. Generally, both the process of weathering and the types of secondary phases are similar in Nantan and Morasko meteorites. The differences are very small and are caused by slightly different chemical composition of both meteorites.

The aim of this study was to provide a phytosociological and ecological characterization of meadow communities in the Łąki w Komborni Natura 2000 site (SE Poland), assess the trends in their transformation, and indicate the major threats impacting on their conservation. The study was conducted in 2015–2016. Three types of meadow communities were distinguished (alliances Molinion, Arrhenatherion, Filipendulion), due to the absence of the species characteristic for associations. The species richness noted per relevé differed significantly between the types of meadows (Kruskal–Wallis test: H = 21.65, p < 0.05). The highest floristic biodiversity (H' = 2.99) was noted for the meadow patches classified as in the Molinion alliance and the lowest (H' = 2.50) was found for the patches from the Filipendulion alliance. Mean values of the ecological indicators (F, R, N) differed between the meadow communities. The greatest disparity was noted for the mean values of the soil moisture indicator (from 6.42 to 7.45). Patches classified in the Filipendulion alliance were developed on the wettest soil substratum, whereas the patches classified in the Arrhenatherion alliance were predominant on a relatively dry substratum. The abandonment of traditional management practices (grazing, mowing) has contributed to transformation of the Molinia meadows, disappearance of characteristic species and succession of shrubs. The Molinia meadow habitat should be conserved by improvement of protection measures (appropriate mowing regime and removal of biomass) to conserve a high species richness and the rare and protected plant species.
Celem pracy była charakterystyka fitosocjologiczna i ekologiczna zbiorowisk łąkowych na obszarze Natura 2000 Łąki w Komborni (SE Polska) oraz ocena kierunków zmian wraz ze wskazaniem głównych zagrożeń. Badania przeprowadzono w latach 2015–2016. W kompleksie wyróżniono trzy typy zbiorowisk, które ze względu na brak gatunków charakterystycznych dla zespołów oraz znaczne przekształcenia fitocenoz podano w randze związku (Molinion, Arrhenatherion, Filipendulion). Zbiorowiska różniły się bogactwem gatunkowym (H = 21.65, p < 0.05). Najwyższą bioróżnorodność florystyczną (H' = 2.99) miały płaty ze związku Molinion, a najniższą (H' = 2.50) ze związku Filipendulion. Średnie wartości wskaźników ekologicznych (F, R, N) były różne dla wydzielonych zbiorowisk. Największe różnice zanotowano w średnich wartościach wskaźnika wilgotności gleby (od 6.42 do 7.45). Na podłożu najbardziej wilgotnym dominowo zbiorowisko z Filipendulion, a na stosunkowo suchym zbiorowisko z Arrhenaterion. Brak tradycyjnego użytkowania (wypas, koszenie) spowodowało przekształcanie łąk trzęślicowych, zanik gatunków charakterystycznych oraz postępujący proces sukcesji. Z uwagi na duże bogactwo gatunkowe, obecność rzadkich i chronionych taksonów istnieje potrzeba zachowania siedliska łąk trzęślicowych na badanym terenie wraz z koniecznością wprowadzenia zabiegów ochronnych (koszenie, usuwanie biomasy).

The paper presents system of financing of agricultural secondary schools before and during the education reform in the years 1999-2006.
Rozwój świata przebiega w rytm fal przemian gospodarczych. Obecnie jesteśmy świadkami początku trzeciej rewolucji, czyli rozwoju gospodarki opartej na wiedzy (GOW), która charakteryzuje się wykorzystywaniem wiedzy, informacji oraz komunikacji. Poprzedziły ją dwie wcześniejsze fale przemian: rewolucje agrarna i przemysłowa. W obliczu zachodzących przemian demograficznych, ekonomicznych, politycznych i kulturowych konieczne jest, aby państwo dbało o jak najlepsze wykształcenie swoich obywateli. W związku z tym pieniądze inwestowane w system oświaty powinny nie tylko pokrywać koszty kształcenia, lecz także być odpowiednio rozdzielone, aby zapewniały każdej jednostce prawidłowy i swobodny rozwój. W epoce GOW na konkurencyjną walkę w świecie będą miały wpływ tylko te państwa, których obywatele będą prężnie działającymi naukowcami, specjalistami, przedsiębiorcami itd. Można to osiągnąć, zapewniając dostęp do wiedzy całemu społeczeństwu, co w konsekwencji umożliwi poszczególnym jednostkom rozwój osobowy przez całe życie. Celem prezentowanej pracy jest przedstawienie aktualnie obowiązującego systemu finansowania średniego szkolnictwa rolniczego oraz wskazanie alternatywnych źródeł finansowania tego szkolnictwa.
