A new method for determining optimum dimension ratios for small rectangular rooms has been presented. In a theoretical model, an exact description of the room impulse response was used. Based on the impulse response, a frequency response of a room was calculated to find changes in the sound pressure level over the frequency range 20-200 Hz. These changes depend on the source and receiver positions, thus, a new metric equivalent to an average frequency response was introduced to quantify the overall sound pressure variation within the room for a selected source position. A numerical procedure was employed to seek a minimum value of the deviation of the sound pressure level response from a smooth fitted response determined by the quadratic polynomial regression. The most smooth frequency responses were obtained when the source was located at one of the eight corners of a room. Thus, to find the best possible dimension ratios, in the numerical procedure the optimal source position was assumed. Calculation results have shown that optimum dimension ratios depend on the room volume and the sound damping inside a room, and for small and medium volumes these ratios are roughly 1 : 1.48 : 2.12, 1 : 1.4 : 1.89 and 1 : 1.2 : 1.45. When the room volume was suitably large, the ratio 1 : 1.2 : 1.44 was found to be the best one.

W związku z przyjętą perspektywą interpretacyjną, świetlica szkolna została scharakteryzowana jako miejsce, które z definicji odgrywa istotną rolę w procesie wspomagania rozwoju dziecka, a proces ten wspiera specyfika pracy wychowawcy w świetlicy szkolnej. Do analizy miejsca, jakim jest świetlica, wykorzystano koncepcję Jerzego Nikitorowicza. Odnosząc się do wyodrębnionych przez niego „pograniczy”, dookreślono, jak wygląda praca wychowawcy w świetlicy szkolnej w perspektywie czynników istotnych dla analizowania świetlicy w kontekście każdego z pograniczy. Pozwoliło to uzyskać nowe ujęcie opisywanego miejsca.
This article presents a description of the specificity of a teacher's work in the common room based on the factors determining its essence, noticed in the literature on the subject. Due to the adopted interpretative perspective, the common room has been characterized as a place that by definition plays an important role in the process of supporting a child's development, and this process is supported by the specificity of the teacher's work in the common room. The concept of Jerzy Nikitorowicz was used to analyse the common room. Referring to the "borderlines" identified by him, it was specified what the work of the teacher in the common room looks like in the perspective of factors important for analysing the common room in the context of each borderline. It allowed to obtain a new perspective of the described place.

Large venues and auditoriums are commonly associated with their astounding architecture. Their acoustic quality is an essential factor in its qualification as a great and functional, or a badly designed place. However, acoustics is often overlooked during the design stage of a building due to the complexity and high cost of the measurements involved. For this reason, it is important to explore more accessible ways to implement acoustics evaluations. The aim of this work is to compare typical experimental measuring methods and the use of mobile devices to assess the acoustic quality of a room. These measurements are contrasted with the software simulation of the same acoustical space. The results show that the mobile system can be used for professional measurements with low restrictions in the frequency range of interest of this study (90 Hz to 4000 Hz).

Reverberant responses are widely used to characterize acoustic properties of rooms, such as the early decay time (EDT) and the reverberation times T20 and T30. However, in real conditions a sound decay is often deformed by background noise, thus a precise evaluation of decay times from noisy room responses is the main problem. In this paper this issue is examined by means of numerical method where the decay times are estimated from the decay function that has been determined by nonlinear polynomial regression from a pressure envelope obtained via the discrete Hilbert transform. In numerical experiment the room responses were obtained from simulations of a sound decay for two-room coupled system. Calculation results have shown that background noise slightly affects the evaluation of reverberation times T20 and T30 as long as the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is not smaller than about 25 and 35 dB, respectively. However, when the SNR is close to about 20 and 30 dB, high overestimation of these times may occur as a result of bending up of the decay curve during the late decay.

An Orthodox church as a building expresses the Eastern Orthodox spirituality – all the details and general aspects have a deep and philosophical meaning. The architecture, being an illustration of the character of the Orthodox Church liturgy, has become a natural component of the cultural landscape of Poland and Eastern Europe. Acoustic research into Orthodox churches has so far been marginalized. Up to now, only a few churches of this type have been studied. The article is a review of the acoustic environment of churches in Poland. Churches, differing in terms of size, architectural style and other quantities, were chosen and acoustic measurements were made. The results of the measurements have been analyzed and collated. In particular, a detailed analysis and comparison was made for reverberation time as a function of frequency, due to the largest differences in this parameter between the rooms.

This paper proposes a new approach for calculating the impulse response of room acoustics. Impulse response provides unique characterization of any discrete lineartime invariant (LTI) systems. We assume that the room is a linear time-invariant system and the impulse response is calculated simply by sending a Dirac Impulse into the system as input and getting the response from the output. Then, the output of the system is represented as a sum of time-shifted weighted impulse responses. Both mathematical justifications for the proposed method and results from simulation software developed to evaluate the proposed approach are presented in detail.

This paper focuses on comparison of two ORM libraries for Android: greenDao and Room. Ways of using these frameworks are presented. Time consumption of creating, reading, updating and deleting records are measured. Tables and charts containing results are presented. Finally analysis and conclusions are made.

Designing a proper acoustical environment—indispensable to speech recognition—in long enclosures is difficult. Although there is some literature on the acoustical conditions in underground stations, there is still little information about methods that make estimation of correct reverberation conditions possible. This paper discusses the assessment of the reverberation conditions of underground stations. A comparison of the measurements of reverberation time in Warsaw’s underground stations with calculated data proves there are divergences between measured and calculated early decay time values, especially for long source–receiver distances. Rapid speech transmission index values for measured stations are also presented.

The work contains the proposal to solution of one aspect of the marine power plant management problem with o, which is the allotment of operating tashs to operators in engine room. Frequent causes of ship detentions by port authorities are abnormalities of marine power plant functioning. Each extended ship lay time inport results in a was te of ship operating time thus costs rise to ship owners. This is connected with improper marine power plant management. In order to avoid this, a ship engineer should have at his disposal a computer aided system supporting him in managing the marine power plant. Such a system can be worked out on the condition that a mathematical model, which represents the decision - making proces s ofan engineer has been built. This workpresents approach to the problem ofone aspect in engine room managing what is operating task scheduling for the staff. The chief engineer is responsible for all engine room operating processes. He must make the plan for all activities to secure his correct operation. The use separately of several mathematical methods is not so effective, as then, when they are the put-upon in frames in coherent system and conduct as a consistent procedure. The main problem In this paper was create the mathematical model of system to assigning operational tasks in engine room, which would permitted to choice the optimum variant of tasks schedule.

In recent years we have interviewed members of the audience after musical performances and asked them to evaluate the acoustics of the concert halls. A group of "music lovers" (with a high level of musical training and experience) and "acousticians" (with a wide knowledge of the physical characteristics of sound transmission) also attended each performance and answered the same questions as the general public. This group thereby served as a control group when evaluating surveys of the general public. In this paper, the results obtained when analyzing these control group surveys are presented. This analysis shows that a common vocabulary exists between music lovers and acousticians when rating a hall, although the grouping of the questions for each factor depends on the training of the respondents.

A theoretical method has been presented to describe sound decay in enclosures and simulate the room impulse response (RIR) employed for prediction of the indoor reverberation characteristics. The method was based on a solution of wave equation with the form of a series whose time-decaying components represent responses of acoustic modes to an impulse sound source. For small sound absorption on room walls this solution was found by means of the method of variation of parameters. A decay function was computed via the time-reverse integration of the squared RIR. Computer simulations carried out for a rectangular enclosure have proved that the RIR function reproduces the structure of a sound field in the initial stage of sound decay sufficiently well. They have also shown that band-limitedness of the RIR has evident influence on the shape of the decay function and predicted decay times.

Accurate definition of boundary conditions is of crucial importance for room acoustic predictions because the wall impedance phase angle can affect the sound field in rooms and acoustic parameters applied to assess a room reverberation. In this paper, the issue was investigated theoretically using the convolution integral and a modal representation of the room impulse response for complex-valued boundary conditions. Theoretical considerations have been accompanied with numerical simulations carried out for a rectangular room. The case of zero phase angle, which is often assumed in room acoustic simulations, was taken as a reference, and differences in the sound pressure level and decay times were determined in relation to this case. Calculation results have shown that a slight deviation of the phase angle with respect to the phase equal to zero can cause a perceptual difference in the sound pressure level. This effect was found to be due to a change in modal frequencies as a result of an increase or decrease in the phase angle. Simulations have demonstrated that surface distributions of decay times are highly irregular, while a much greater range of the early decay time compared to the reverberation time range indicates that a decay curve is nonlinear. It was also found that a difference between the decay times predicted for the complex impedance and real impedance is especially clearly audible for the largest impedance phase angles because it corresponds approximately to 4 just noticeable differences for the reverberation metrics.

The purpose of the study was to compare auditory judgments of sound clarity of music examples recorded in a concert hall with predictions of clarity made from the impulse response signal recorded in the same hall. Auditory judgments were made with the use of two methods: by rating sound clarity on a numerical scale with two endpoints, and by absolute magnitude estimation. Results obtained by both methods were then compared against the values of clarity indices, C80 and C50, determined from the impulse response of the concert hall, measured in places in which the microphone was located during recording of music examples. Results show that auditory judgments of sound clarity and predictions made from the C80 index yield a similar rank order of data, but the relation between the C80 scale and perceived sound clarity is nonlinear. The data also show that the values of C80 and C50 indices are in very close agreement.

The article presents a study of the typical lyrical plot, representing the hero-poet in his study room. Comparative analysis of Russian lyric poems of different genres (elegy and others) and authors (Batyushkov, Pushkin, Fet, Polonsky and others) reveals the certain traditions in evolution of this plot – in comparison with the similar tradition in novel (investigated earlier by N. Nyagolova). In the beginning of 20th century these traditions can be observed in Bunin’s poetry and two poems of I. Annensky and N. Gumilev.

This paper is concerned with the lexis belonging to the semantic field of rehabilitacja ‘rehabilitation’. It discusses the distinction between rehabilitacja ‘rehabilitation’ and fizjoterapia ‘physiotherapy’, and defines the two lexemes in order to establish the specific properties of the semantic field under analysis. The discussion refers to the findings of other researchers of chrematonymy, who consider this area of onomastics to be a cultural and linguistic phenomenon. Such theoretical background enables me to propose a three-part model of the chrematonym of an economic activity of a natural person on the basis of the names of rehabilitation/physiotherapy rooms. A detailed analysis of the analysed examples is presented in the second part of the paper.

Introduction: AIDS is a fatal disease that impairs the immunity, increasing the risk of developing opportunistic infections. Case report: We present a case of a 47-year-old patient from the ER, with bleeding from a tongue tumor. The patient reported that he had lost 25 kg in about six months and complained of swallowing disorders. HIV infection was confirmed in the patient during the diagnosis. The inflammatory tumor of the tongue was the only manifestation of HIV infection.

Opis:
Virtual or active acoustics refers to the generation of a simulated room response by means of elec- troacoustics and digital signal processing. An artificial room response may include sound reflections and reverberation as well as other acoustic features mimicking the actual room. They will cause the listener to have an impression of being immersed in virtual acoustics of another simulated room that coexists with the actual physical room. Using low-latency broadband multi-channel convolution and carefully measured room data, optimized transducers for rendering of sound fields, and an intuitive touch control user in- terface, it is possible to achieve a very high perceived quality of active acoustics, with a straightforward adjustability. The electroacoustically coupled room resulting from such optimization does not merely produce an equivalent of a back-door reverberation chamber, but rather a fully functional complete room superimposed on the physical room, yet with highly selectable and adjustable acoustic response. The utility of such active system for music recording and performance is discussed and supported with examples.

In this paper, the computer modelling application based on the modal expansion method is developed to study the influence of a sound source location on a steady- state response of coupled rooms. In the research, an eigenvalue problem is solved numerically for a room system consisting of two rectangular spaces connected to one another. A numerical procedure enables the computation of shape and frequency of eigenmodes, and allows one to predict the potential and kinetic energy densities in a steady-state. In the first stage, a frequency room response for several source positions is investigated, demonstrating large deformations of this response for strong and weak modal excitations. Next, a particular attention is given to studying how the changes in a source position influence the room response when a source frequency is tuned to a resonant frequency of a strongly localized mode.

Numerous studies have shown that teachers often speak louder in classrooms because of the acoustic properties of the spaces. To improve the acoustics in classrooms, it is necessary to develop relevant acoustic criteria. Existing evaluation scales for parameters of room acoustics have been developed on the basis of studies of adults for a variety of languages (e.g. Dutch and English). One of the issues still not fully recognized is the effect of the respondents’ language and age on the results of speech intelligibility tests. The aim of the study was to recognize the possibility of applying some international guidelines for room acoustics developed on the basis of adult studies to classrooms in Polish schools. This paper presents a study of the speech intelligibility of Polish-speaking children (10–13 years old) in conjunction with parameters of room acoustics. It also compares studies of speech intelligibility for other languages. The study confirmed a relationship between the results of speech intelligibility tests and speech transmission index STI for classrooms with varied acoustics. It also showed that the results of Polish word test are similar to results of English tests (Anderson, Kalb, 1987; Jacob et al., 1990).

W referacie przedstawiono wyniki symulacji komputerowej mającej na celu dopasowanie czasu pogłosu dla odbioru mowy i muzyki do wartości optymalnych poprzez zmianę rozwiązań materiałowych pomieszczenia. Następnie przeanalizowano wpływ takiego rozwiązania na inne, wybrane atrybuty akustyczne.
The results of the computer simulation conceming Reverberation Time of room, have been presented in the paper. The surface materials have been adjusted due to optimal value of t his parameter. Finally the influence of reverberation time on other acoustical parameters have been analysed and discussed.

The frequent causes of ships’ detentions by port authorities are abnormalities of marine power plant functioning. Each extended ship lay time in port results in a waste of ship operating time thus costs rise to ship owners. This is connected with improper marine power plant management. In order to avoid it, a ship engineer should have disposal computer aided at his system supporting him in the managing of the marine power plant. Such a system can be worked out on the condition that a mathematical model, which represents the decision – making process of an engineer has been built. One element of the decision making process in managing the marine engine room is to determine how important is each of the tasks which the operators have to do. This estimation is the base to choose the most important tasks and make optimal schedule with them. The present work shows the approach to the rating method of operating tasks using AHP method. Based on practice, a hierarchic structure of factors influencing tasks validity in the engine room operating process was made. Next, a preliminary questionnaire was conducted, which put questions to the experts as chief engineers next. This enabled to define numerical values of suitable coefficients influencing on the validity of operating tasks. The equation contains this all coefficients permit to determinate numerical values of an operating task’s validity in given engine room operating processes.

The article discusses the semiotic parameters of the locus of the study room in the Russian novel from the second half of the 19th century. It outlines the socio-cultural context that makes this locus topical in the works of the Russian novelists from the epoch after the reforms. The given examples of presence of the study room in the novels of I. Turgenev, I. Goncharov, F. Dostoevsky and L. Tolstoy are interpreted in several principle aspects: – objects in the composition and its selection – the relation character – material detail – semantic transformations and their motivation.

The main problem in the measurement of airborne sound insulation is the measurement of the sound power radiated by the barrier, in practice performed by measuring the sound pressure level and the acoustic absorption in the receiving room. Large variations of the sound pressure level in a reverberation room indicate the presence of dominating strong standing waves, so that it becomes necessary to install diffusing elements. In ISO 10140, the limits have been defined in which the reverberation time at frequencies at and above 100 Hz should be included. Sometimes, however, in the case of rooms with a large volume, obtaining the required parameters is difficult and sometimes even impossible. It should then be checked whether the measured sound insulation depends on the reverberation time. The paper presents the results of sound insulation measurements at various reverberation time lengths in subsequent stages of diffusing elements installation in the receiving room. An analysis of diffusing materials amount and arrangement influence on the uniformity of the sound pressure level distribution and reverberation time in the room as well as the value of the measured sound insulation was carried out. Uncertainty of sound insulation measurement with partial uncertainties was adopted as a criterion supporting the assessment of the obtained results.

The paper presents an internet system to manage 230 V electric devices in computer server rooms. The system is realized as the power strip connected to one of servers through the USB port. The system allows for the real-time temperature measurement and provides the maintenance-free operation. Moreover, it allows to turn on or off the connected devices using information from temperature sensors. Also it is possible to turn on or off every single socket disregarding temperature. The user communicates with the system through the web browser, and no dedicated software is required on the client side. The system has been installed and verified experimentally.

Opis:
Reflecting structures placed over the stage in auditoria and concert halls should provide sound reflection in a way that enhances sound emission from the stage without causing acoustic defects in the interior. Model studies conducted by the authors were used to determine the relative level of sound reflection by reflecting structures as a function of frequency for a number of geometric configurations and materials. Analysis of the results allowed drawing conclusions about the effect of modifications of the ceiling over the reflecting panels on the quality of the sound reflected from them. It was shown that modification of the ceiling over the reflecting panels by employing highly sound absorbing materials significantly improved the characteristics of the reflected sound. Also, certain configurations of elements located in the space under the ceiling should be avoided, as the experiments indicated the occurrence of adverse acoustic effects.

Opis:
A modal representation of a room impulse response has been used to formulate expressions for low-frequency sound field in rooms of arbitrary shape. Based on theoretical results, a simulation program has been developed to predict a sound pressure distribution and a room transfer function for rectangular enclosure having walls covered by a material of complex impedance. Calculation results have shown that changes in the wall reactance entail a substantial modification of a sound pressure distribution. Furthermore, an influence of wall reactance on the room transfer function was investigated and it was discovered that a change in a reactance sign causes a shift in frequencies of modal vibrations excited in the room.

Currently used procedures in room acoustics measurements are not automated. Particularly in medium-sized and large areas they require a lot of time and intensive labour which directly translates into an increase in the measurement cost. Introduction of an automated system would increase efficiency of the measurements, and therefore could present both practical and scientific benefit. The paper presents initial feasibility study for designing a system that permits the measurement of selected acoustic parameters for any choice of three-dimensional grid of measurement points throughout the volume of the room. The system will utilize an autonomous probe attached to a blimp, and will be able to measure and analyze acoustic characteristics of the rooms. The article discusses the initial choices of the system elements, starting from the general idea, through the mechanical design and control procedures, the software that controls positioning and flying of the probe, up to the automation of the measurement procedure and its possible impact on the acoustic field.

Acoustic parameters were analysed in nine auditoria and multi-purpose conference rooms in the University of Extremadura. Parameters related to the reverberation time, background noise, and intelligibility (both physical measurements of different parameters [Definition (D-50) and STI] and speech tests used to study the subjective response of listeners) were studied. The measurements were compared with some recommendations from the literature and, considering that speech was the main use of the studied rooms, with the intelligibility results. Some different recommendations for reverberation times taken from the literature were analysed. The intelligibility results obtained from the measurements were also compared with the intelligibility results that were determined by the speech tests.

Acoustic quality of a classroom is a term proposed to describe acoustic properties that contribute to a subjective impression received by a human, such as speech intelligibility, external noise, or vocal effort. It is especially important in classrooms, where suitable conditions should be provided to convey verbal content to students, taking into account their age. The article presents a method for assessing the acoustic quality of classrooms based on a single number global index and taking into account a number of factors affecting the outcome of the assessment. Partial indices are presented and their weights are proposed based on an analysis of factors determining whether a room meets applicable acoustic requirements. Results of the assessment of the acoustic quality carried out with the use of the developed method in selected classrooms are also presented.

This paper aims to show a practical case study of safety assessment concerning possible injuries and fire occurring in the engine room on-board a merchant ship, due to fatigue. Methods The methodology was centred in literature hazard identification, measurements in real ships and heat stress indices definition. Results Some corrections are proposed in order to obtain a safe environment for workers in the engine control room and to prevent fatigue risks at the engine room. This will allow adequate oil leakage detection and, as a consequence, improve fire prevention. Discussion Training is a preventive control option, but this study allows the understanding of new corrective control options like design corrections.

The aim of the text is to present the potential of Foucault’s concept of dispositive for interpreting the space of a child’s room. I look for arguments in favor of this proposal in the concepts of the place by M. Eliade, P. Ricoer, and Yi-Fu Tuan, who combine creating a place with the process of constructing human identity. In reference to them, I assume that a child can create his own identity only if he has a chance to transform the space available to him. The analysis of the history of children’s room shows, however, that his space has always been created as a result of adults’ practices aimed at educational goals. Thus, the children’s room can be treated as dispositif, serving the governmentality of child.

Sound field parameters are predicted with numerical methods in sound control systems, in acoustic designs of building and in sound field simulations. Those methods define the acoustic properties of surfaces, such as sound absorption coefficients or acoustic impedance, to determine boundary conditions. Several in situ measurement techniques were developed; one of them uses 2 microphones to measure direct and reflected sound over a planar test surface. Another approach is used in the inverse boundary elements method, in which estimating acoustic impedance of a surface is expressed as an inverse boundary problem. The boundary values can be found from multipoint sound pressure measurements in the interior of a room. This method can be applied to arbitrarily-shaped surfaces. This investigation is part of a research programme on using inverse methods in industrial room acoustics.

Ventilation and air conditioning systems are necessary for developing proper parameters of indoor environment in operating rooms. The main task of ventilation and air conditioning in those specific areas consists in creating desirable temperature, reducing the number of microorganisms and the concentrations of hazardous gases and substances in the air, as well as ensuring the proper direction of airflow. In Poland, indoor environment in operating rooms has to comply with the requirements set out in three regulations (Journal of Laws of 2002 No. 75, item 690, as amended, Journal of Laws of 2002 No. 217, item 1833, Journal of Laws of 2011 No. 31, item 158, as amended) and the document entitled "Guidelines for the design of general hospitals". Given insufficient accuracy of the abovementioned national documents, it is a common practice to use foreign standards, i.e. ASHRAE Standard 170-2013, DIN 1946-4: 2008 and FprCEN TR 16244: 2011. When considering the conditions for thermal comfort, it is important to bear in mind a close link between air flow velocity and air temperature. Air in the zone occupied by patients and medical staff must not cause the sensation of draft. Furthermore, air velocity should be sufficient to eliminate interference caused by the presence of people and other sources of heat. It should also reduce the turbulence level in the air in the operating room. Efficient functioning of ventilation and air conditioning was tested during treatments and operations carried out on three wards of a Warsaw hospital. Tests were performed with the participation of medical staff from various surgical units. They were asked to perform minor manual tasks to simulate work on the operating table, and to complete a questionnaire on subjective thermal sensation. The applied methodology is widely used during testing of general and local ventilation in public buildings. Air temperature, relative humidity, air flow supply and exhaust air from the operating room were deter-mined on the basis of VelociCalc 8360 and Testo 435 anemometers with a 3-function probe and 3 vane probes with the diameter of 16 mm, 60 mm and 100 mm. Throughout the study, microclimate conditions in the operating rooms were controlled by the EHA MM101 microclimate meter. Test results showed that the microclimate parameters met the requirements of the aforementioned documents. However, individual thermal sensations reported by the medical staff pointed to the lack of thermal comfort and, in extreme cases, e.g. when using lead aprons during operations, perception of the thermal environment as ‘very hot’. The efficiency and type of air distribution in operating rooms has a decisive effect on the results.

Opis:
W artykule przedstawiono nowy program komputerowy o nazwie WUFI+ służący do obliczeń niestacjonarnych przepływów ciepła i wilgoci w całych budynkach. Opisano w skrócie model obliczeniowy, działanie programu oraz niektóre wyniki obliczeń walidacyjnych wykonanych w ramach projektu "IEA Annex 41 ".
The new developed computer program called WUFI + for calculation of transient heat and moisture flows in whole buildings is presented in this paper. Computational model, programme performance and some validation calculations made within project "IEA Annex 4l " are shortly described.

The impact of obesity on health, social care and the economy has long been established. Being obese or overweight increases the risk of developing a range of serious diseases including psychological disturbance, diabetes, heart disease, musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis and cancers that lead to premature disability and mortality. The good news is that overweight and obesity are largely prevent and /or control-able through losing weight strategies and fitting room can be an option for whom are observant about their surroundings. The fitting room is usually where the consumer makes their final evaluation about the products while assessing personal appearance, and finally deciding whether or not to purchase the garment. For some people, fitting room it is something to get through without visible or psychic damage and for some others is a horrifying place as they may suddenly realize how overweight or obese they are that could be a challenging start to maintain a healthy body image in a life-changing journey. In fact, the changing room is inspired to provide some people with personal choices toward a desirable weight therapy through engaging in exercise and diet. Hence, fitting room while in shopping even for entertainment purposes is advised as a beneficial life - time decision in weight control and obesity may take place by individual in this way.

This paper offers an analysis of chrematonyms connected with the area of rehabilitation/physiotherapy, as represented by the names of non-public rehabilitation/physiotherapy rooms in Białystok. It discusses the structure of anthroponyms as distinct components of the names, the structure and semantics of their identifying parts, as well as the structure and semantics of the firmonyms proper. I discuss the variants and the structure of the chrematonyms, paying particular attention to the semantically hypertrophic names. I also present the role of non-semantic elements in the names of the firms. The analysis demonstrates that the chrematonyms connected with the area of rehabilitation/physiotherapy form a heterogenous group of onyms; they reflect the varied nature of the profession, the current lifestyle trends, as well as the current epidemiological and demographic tendencies.

Opis:
One of the most frequently used methods of adjusting the room acoustics of concert halls is the temporary introduction of additional acoustic absorption in the form of acoustic banners. Banners are implemented in the form of fabric surfaces placed vertically or horizontally along the walls of concert halls. In practice, one or two layers of heavyweight fabrics are used, characterized by a high value of the sound absorption coefficient. Simplified methods of designing acoustic banners assume estimating the effectiveness of adjusting the reverberation time on the basis of the static theory. The paper presents the results of measuring the effectiveness of acoustic banners carried out in the concert hall. The possibility of tuning the interior acoustics was verified depending on the position of the banner in the room as well as the degree of its opening.

Świetlica to instytucja o charakterze opiekuńczo-wychowawczym, będąca częścią integralną szkoły. Wypełnia zadania uzupełniające proces opieki i wychowania uczniów w czasie, kiedy czekają oni na rozpoczęcie zajęć dydaktycznych lub po zakończeniu tych zajęć. Zarówno opieka, jak i wychowanie oraz realizacja zajęć dydaktycznych w świetlicy szkolnej są działaniami odrębnymi. Mimo to w prawidłowo realizowanej pracy w ramach zajęć świetlicowych pozostają one we wspólnych zależnościach. Najważniejszym ogniwem dobrze funkcjonującej świetlicy jest osoba opiekuna-wychowawcy. Od jego kompetencji zależy to, jak odbierana jest rola świetlicy w oczach uczniów i ich rodziców. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań świadczą o aktywnej postawie wychowawców świetlicy względem wychowanków.
Common room is an educational and care institution. It forms an integral part of a school. Its function is to complement the educational and care process of the pupils before or after their school classes. Care, education and conduction of classes in a common room are separate tasks. Nonetheless they are mutually dependent if the common room activities are implemented properly. The most important element of a well-functioning common room is a common room teacher. Its competence determines how the role of a common room is perceived by pupils and their parents. The results of the conducted research suggest an active attitude of common room teachers toward their pupils.

Zabieg pomostowania aortalno-wieńcowego stanowi prawie 3/4 wszystkich zabiegów kardiochirurgicznych. Ta rozległa i skomplikowana operacja wymaga uczestnictwa wykwalifikowanego zespołu medycznego, którego niezbędną częścią są pielęgniarki instrumentariuszki. Posiadana przez nie wiedza teoretyczna i praktyczna oraz doświadczenie przyczyniają się do sprawnego przebiegu zabiegu. Do zadań pielęgniarki operacyjnej należy nie tylko instrumentowanie, ale również przygotowanie sali operacyjnej, narzędzi, kontrola sterylności materiałów, prowadzenie dokumentacji (przez pielęgniarkę pomagającą), wykonywanie opatrunków oraz odpowiednie postępowanie z narzędziami po zabiegu i oddanie ich do sterylizacji. Bardzo ważne jest również dbanie o bezpieczeństwo pacjenta, za które odpowiedzialni są wszyscy członkowie zespołu operacyjnego.
The coronary artery by-pass surgery accounts for almost 3/4 of all cardiosurgical procedures. This extensive and complicated operation requires the participation of a qualified medical team whose necessary part are nurse practitioners. Their theoretical and practical knowledge as well as experience contribute to the smooth operation of the procedure. The tasks of the scrub nurse include not only instrumentation, but also the preparation of the operating room, tools, control of sterility of materials, keeping documentation (by the nurse helping), dressing and proper handling of tools after surgery and putting them to sterilization. It is also very important to take care of the patient’s safety, for which all members of the operating team are responsible.

En un estilo sumamente poético, reflexivo y deliberadamente fragmentario, Ricardo Romero construye en su novela un relato que tematiza, a través del mecanismo del extrañamiento, la delgada línea entre lo que se percibe como privado e íntimo y aquello que pertenece por completo al ámbito de lo público. Desde la visión subjetiva de un niño, La habitación del Presidente incursiona en el siniestro territorio de los espacios familiares, redescubriendo los recovecos aparentemente asépticos del mapa como espacios-otros, auténticas heterotopías instaladas en lo más profundo de la intimidad familiar y cotidiana. El extrañamiento del narrador en primera persona se proyecta en el lector, que se ve de pronto inserto en un universo muy similar al propio, pero con algunas reglas tácitas que encuadran al relato en la frontera con lo fantástico: la presencia en todas las casas de una habitación para el Presidente, la prohibición de los sótanos, la propia figura del Presidente y el aura de misterio que rodea la posibilidad inminente de su visita. La percepción de los espacios como ajenos, espacios-otros cargados de una semántica particular, es el principal mecanismo que sostiene la estructura de todo el relato.

The statistics invariably show that most onboard fires originate in the engine room. In hazardous conditions, fires can spread to other rooms of the ship and cause the loss of human life, and can cause the ship to be out of service or lost completely. To prevent these serious consequences, the engine room crew should be aware of hazards and ways to prevent them. It is also advisable to support their routine activities and actions in critical situations with an appropriate management system. For this reason, a survey was conducted at the beginning of 2019 of engine room crew members employed by a European shipowner, as a contribution to an analysis of fire safety management. Based on the results of the survey, some of the elements of the fire safety management system of the ship engine room are described. A properly constructed system that is understandable and accepted by the crew is one of the most important factors in increasing fire safety on a ship. Familiarisation with adequate procedures can significantly contribute to the successful prevention of accidents. This paper also proposes a checklist based on suggestions by the crew, which may be helpful in onboard fire prevention.

Games gain popularity as teaching tools. Escape rooms, however, are a novelty, with most authors focusing on their description rather than the analysis of effects of their utilisation. The objective of this paper is to analyse experiences of players partaking in an educational escape game, and to observe escape rooms from the viewpoint of a scholar interested in the efficiency of the tool. The research material consists of questionnaires filled in by research subjects and transcripts of structured interviews. Due to the relatively large sample (N = 258), it is possible to conclude from the gathered quantitative data that there has been a growth in the subjects’ knowledge.
Stosowanie gier jako narzędzi nauczania jest coraz popularniejsze. Jednak użycie escape roomów stanowi nowość i większość autorów koncentruje się raczej na opisie samego narzędzia niż na analizie efektów jego zastosowania. Celem artykułu jest analiza doświadczeń osób biorących udział w edukacyjnym escape roomie oraz spojrzenie z perspektywy badacza zainteresowanego skutecznością narzędzia. Materiał badawczy pochodzi z wypełnionych przez uczestników kwestionariuszy oraz transkrypcji wywiadów ustrukturyzowanych. Dzięki stosunkowo dużej próbie (N = 258) możliwe było stwierdzenie na podstawie danych ilościowych, że wiedza uczestników wzrosła.

This paper presents the results of measurements of the sound absorption coefficient of auditorium seats carried out in the laboratory using two methods. In the first one, small blocks of seats in various arrangements were studied in a reverberation chamber to determine the absorption coefficient of an auditorium of infinite dimensions. The results were compared to the values of the absorption coefficient measured using the second method, which involved samples enclosed within a frame screening the side surfaces of other auditorium blocks. The results of both methods allowed for the assessment of the sound absorption coefficient of an auditorium of any dimensions while taking into account the sound absorption by the side surfaces. The method developed by the authors will simplify the currently known measurement procedures.

A set of sound power assessments was performed to determine measurement precision in specified conditions by the comparison method in a reverberation room with a fixed position array of six microphones. Six blenders (or mixers) and, complementary, a reference sound source were the noise sources. Five or six sound power calculations were undertaken on each noise source, and the standard deviation (sr) was computed as “measurement precision under repeatability conditions” for each octave band from 125 Hz to 8 kHz, and in dB(A). With the results obtained, values of sr equal 1.0 dB for 125 Hz and 250 Hz, 0.8 dB for 500 Hz to 2 kHz, and 0.5 dB for 4 kHz and 8 kHz. Those can be considered representative as sound power precision for blenders according to the measurement method used. The standard deviation of repeatability for the A-weighted sound power level equals 0.6 dB. This paper could be used for house or laboratory tests to check where their uncertainty assessment for sound power determination is similar or not to those generated at the National Metrology Institute.

Operating room is now a place or a magical environment where the suture irreplaceable, quiet and reliable tour guide patients and surgeons. There was a perception that communication with patients in operating theaters is very limited, respectively, rare and used much less than the wards, intensive care units and clinics, but it is not so. Communication during surgical interventions, whether among staff or patients is always individual. This depends mainly on whether the interventions under general, spinal or local anesthesia . This is a rather important fact, because it is derived from a method of communication between members of the operating team and the operations team and the patient. Communication is an important aspect of nursing activities. That is reason why the autors of the report focus on the specificis of nursing care in the operating room. Work in this field pats high demands on the nurse as the site of a professional, as well, as psychologicae, physical and emotionae. Inclusion of nurses in this work provides the same personal characteristics and skills.

CO, CxHy, NO, NOx and dust concentrations from a cherry stones supplied boiler with a nominal heat output of 15 kW were researched in a heat station. In the entrained flow furnace designed for firing wood pellets, melting and sintering ash phenomenon could not be successfully avoided. In comparison to wood pellet combustion, the observed boiler heat efficiency was lower. CO concentration was relatively high but did not exceed the permitted value. The impact of temperature in the combustion chamber and oxygen concentration on pollutant concentrations was determined. Pollutant emission indicators were estimated.
W kotłowni grzewczej badano steżenia CO, CxHy, NO, NOx i pyłu z kotła o mocy nominalnej 15 kW, zasilanego pestkami wiśni. W palenisku typu narzutowego do peletów drzewnych, mimo obniżenia temperatury, nie udało sie uniknąć całkowicie zjawiska mięknienia i zlepiania sie popiołu. Uzyskano niższa niż dla peletów drzewnych sprawność cieplna kotła oraz wyższe steżenie tlenku węgla, lecz poniżej dopuszczalnej wartości. Określono wpływ temperatury w komorze spalania i steżenia tlenu na steżenia zanieczyszczeń. Oszacowano wskaźniki emisji.

Good rehearsal facilities for musicians are essential. Directive 2003/10/EC necessitates that musicians are protected from noise exposure. A code of conduct gives the guidelines how this should be done. This study examines room acoustics recommendations provided by the Finnish code of conduct, and discusses whether they are adequate. Small teaching facilities were measured after renovation and compared to earlier measurements. Teachers’ opinions were inquired about the facilities before and after. The renovation did not decrease the noise exposure of the teachers. However, the majority preferred the facilities after the renovation. The Finnish code of conduct is not sufficient for facilities where loud instruments are played, or band practise. Good facilities can be designed but they must be specified at the designing stage for their intended use.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badania stężenia, rozkładu wymiarowego i składu chemicznego cząstek w powietrzu w pomieszczeniu z dozwolonym paleniem papierosów w ciągu dnia pracy. Przedstawiono również wyniki badania stężenia liczbowego i masowego oraz rozkładu wymiarowego cząstek w pomieszczeniu bez dozwolonego palenia papierosów. Badania wykazały, że podczas palenia papierosów są przede wszystkim emitowane cząstki o wymiarach 0,107-0,124 žm, a więc cząstki nanometryczne. Zawartość sumy WWA we frakcji drobniejszej dymu PM0.25 była większa w porównaniu do frakcji PM10.
The article presents results of an investigation of the concentration, size distribution and chemical compound of particles suspended in the air in a room in which cigarette smoking is permitted during the working day. Also presented are results of an investigation of the number and mass concentration, and size distribution of particles in the air of a room in which smoking is not permitted. Investigations showed that during cigarette smoking it was primarily particles 0.107-0.124 m in diameter, i.e., nanoparticles, that were emitted. The content of PAHs in the measured fractions indicated that the fraction of PM0.25 contained more PAHs than the fraction of PM10.

Sound and vibrations are often perceived via the auditory and tactile senses simultaneously, e.g., in a car or train. During a rock concert, the body vibrates with the rhythm of the music. Even in a concert hall or a church, sound can excite vibrations in the ground or seats. These vibrations might not be perceived separately because they integrate with the other sensory modalities into one multi-modal perception. This paper discusses the relation between sound and vibration for frequencies up to 1 kHz in an opera house and a church. Therefore, the transfer function between sound pressure and acceleration was measured at different exemplary listening positions. A dodecahedron loudspeaker on the stage was used as a sound source. Accelerometers on the ground, seat and arm rest measured the resulting vibrations. It was found that vibrations were excited over a broad frequency range via airborne sound. The transfer function was measured using various sound pressure levels. Thereby, no dependence on level was found. The acceleration level at the seat corresponds approximately to the sound pressure level and is independent of the receiver position. Stronger differences were measured for vibrations on the ground.

In 1949, Czesław Miłosz spent a few days in Wroclaw, which was still in ruins after WWII. Six years later Miłosz wrote an interesting poem entitled Pokój (The Room) and created a symbolical vision of the city. The article discusses the style and meaning of the poem, and compares it with another (earlier) poem by Miłosz entitled In Warsaw, which also referred to a post-WWII, heavily destroyed city. This comparison reveals the convergences and differences between both texts.

Opis:
A room impulse response obtained for complex-valued boundary conditions on wall surfaces was used to determine the frequency response of arbitrary shaped room. Based on theoretical findings, a numerical procedure was developed to test the effectiveness of a high-density sound absorbing material in improving low-frequency spectral flatness. The impedance of absorbing material was determined using the two-parameter Komatsu model. The simulation results have shown that the smoothing effect of the frequency response becomes apparent when the thickness of absorbing material is large enough. This is because as the material thickness increases, the sound absorption tends to increase at lower frequencies.

Świetlice szkolne spełniają wiele funkcji, a swą pracę opierają na rożnych metodach i formach. Postrzeganie roli świetlic niesłusznie ograniczane jest do miejsca, w którym dzieci tylko spędzają czas z braku innych możliwości. Istnienie świetlic szkolnych jest jednak nieodzowne w systemie wychowania opiekuńczego nad dziećmi.
Educating children and youth is the responsibility of society as a whole, but especially the family and school, which should work closely together. The school environment is an important part in the school room, where some children spend their time before and after school. School community centers perform many functions, and their work is based on different methods and forms. Perceptions of the role of the clubs is unduly restricted to a place where children only spend time with the lack of other opportunities. The existence of school clubs, however, is indispensable in the education system, the welfare of children.

The paper argues for the necessity of a combination MMR methods (questionnaire, interview) and sentiment/opinion techniques to personal satisfaction analysis at the maritime and training education and proposes a generic, but practical research approach for this purpose. The proposed approach concerns the personal satisfaction evaluation of Engine Room simulator systems and combines the speech recording (sentiment/opinion analysis) for measuring emotional user responses with usability testing (SUS tool). The experimental procedure presented here is a primary effort to research the emotion analysis (satisfaction) of the users-students in Engine Room Simulators. Finally, the ultimate goal of this research is to find and test the critical factors that influence the educational practice and user’s satisfaction of Engine Room Simulator Systems and the ability to conduct full-time system control by the marine crew.

In this paper, the author has presented the definitions of convergence as a stream of displacement vector field. The author has presented equations of the convergence of workings (chambers, caverns), in the shape of geometric primitives, as well as identified and described the stages of convergence development in time. Basic principles of convergence are discussed, associating main convergences in a rectangular cavern with its dimensions and volumetric convergence. The current status of knowledge has been used for the formulation of the objectives of conducting convergence measurements in underground salt mines. The description of the convergence stages and the study of a rectangular chamber are educational in nature, while the identified objectives of observations can be applied for designing convergence observations and interpretation of results.
W pracy przedstawiono definicje konwergencji jako strumienia pola wektorowego przemieszczenia. Określono wzory na konwergencję wyrobisk w kształcie prymitywów geometrycznych oraz wyodrębniono i scharakteryzowano fazy rozwoju konwergencji w czasie. Omówiono podstawowe zasady zaciskania wyrobisk, wiążące główne konwergencje w komorze prostopadłościennej z jej wymiarami i konwergencją objętościową. Dotychczasowy stan wiedzy wykorzystano do sformułowania celów prowadzenia pomiarów konwergencji w podziemnych kopalniach soli. Opis faz konwergencji i studium konwergencji w prostopadłościennej komorze mają walory poznawcze, a wyłonione cele obserwacji mogą być wykorzystane przy projektowaniu obserwacji konwergencji i interpretacji ich wyników.

The church of Santa Ana in Moratalaz, Madrid, Spain (1965–1971), is an emblematic work of the architect Miguel Fisac. In his long career include interventions in the religious field, constituting one of the most important contributions to Spanish religious architecture of the last century. This church is a singular place of worship and architecturally significant, in which the acoustics played an important role in the configuration of the spatiality of the church. This paper studies the acoustic behaviour of the church and its relationship with its unique structural, spatial and coating material characteristics. The analysis of the current acoustic conditions, with high reverberation times (up to 6 seconds) and poor intelligibility on the audience, serve as the basis for making an acoustic rehabilitation proposal that contributes to improving the sound conditions of the building for the intended use, without distorting the spatial, formal and material aspects with which the architect conceived the project.

Opis:
Ray tracing simulation of sound field in rooms is a common tool in room acoustic design for predicting impulse response. There are numerous commercial engineering tools utilising ray tracing simulation. A specific problem in the simulation is the modelling of diffuse reflections when contribution of individual surface is prevailing. The paper introduces modelling of scattering which is interesting when the whole impulse response of a room is not a goal but contribution of certain surface. The main goal of the Project is to shape directivity characteristics of scattered reflection. Also, an innovative approach is suggested for converting the energy histogram information obtained by ray tracing into an “equivalent impulse response”. The proposed algorithm is tested by comparing the results with measurements in a real sound field, realised in a scaled model where a diffusing surface is hardware-implemented.

INTRODUCTION: Systematic analysis of risk factors, causes of sudden death and patient survivability allows implementation of increasingly effective methods and procedures for emergency cardiac arrest (SCA). The conditions of the emergency room (ER) allow for initial medical imaging and laboratory diagnostics, which facilitate the assessment of critical parameters that may be a predictor of SCA. The aim of the study is to determine the survival level of patients with SCA that were staying in ER and to indicate the factors that increase the likelihood of SCA. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study was conducted in 2018 based on medical records of SOR in 73 patients with sudden cardiac arrest in SOR. Descriptive statistics and data analysis were performed using parametric tests (Pearson test). The level of significance was determined for p <0,05. RESULTS: The average age of SOR patients was 72 years (SD ± 16.29). In most cases, the patients were brought to the ER by the EMS. Sinus rhythm dominated in ECG tests,before the onset of SCA,. The ECG mechanisms in which SCA occurred were: asystole (50.7%), PEA (32.9%) and VF / pVT (16.4%), respectively. Among half of the patients (50.7%) of ER spontaneous circulation was restored, while 49.3% of ER patients were fatal. The relationship between mortality and O2 partial pressure, methanol, MPV, D-dimer, pH and HCO3 has been demonstrated. CONCLUSIONS: In the examined group of patients with SCA,non-defibrillatory rhythms (asystole, PEA) dominate. Half of the patients manage to achieve ROSC under ER conditions. There are predictors of SCA in patients in ER.
WSTĘP: Systematyczna analiza czynników ryzyka, przyczyn nagłej śmierci oraz przeżywalności pacjentów pozwala na wdrażanie coraz skuteczniejszych metod i procedur postępowania w nagłym zatrzymaniu krążenia (NZK). Warunki Szpitalnego Oddziału Ratunkowego pozwalają na wstępną diagnostykę obrazową i laboratoryjną, co pozwala na ocenę parametrów krytycznych, mogących stanowić czynnik predykcyjny nagłego zatrzymania krążenia. Celem pracy jest określenie poziomu przeżywalności pacjentów z NZK przebywających w SOR oraz wskazanie czynników wpływających na wzrost prawdopodobieństwa wystąpienia nagłego zgonu sercowego. MATERIAŁ I METODY: Badanie zostało przeprowadzone w 2018 r. na podstawie dokumentacji medycznej SOR-u 73 pacjentów z nagłym zatrzymaniem krążenia na SOR. Dokonano statystyki opisowej oraz analizy danych za pomocą testów parametrycznych (test Pearsona). Poziom istotności ustalono dla p<0,05. WYNIKI: Średnia wieku pacjentów SOR-u wynosiła 72 lata (SD ± 16,29). W większości przypadków chorzy zostali przywiezieni na SOR przez zespół ratownictwa medycznego (ZRM). Przed wystąpieniem NZK w badaniach EKG dominował rytm zatokowy. Mechanizmy EKG, w jakim doszło do NZK to kolejno: asystolia (50,7%), PEA (32,9%) oraz VF/pVT (16,4%). U ponad połowy pacjentów (50,7%) SOR nastąpił powrót spontanicznego krążenia, natomiast u 49,3% pacjentów SOR odnotowano zgon. Wykazano zależność śmiertelności od ciśnienia parcjalnego O2, poziomu metanolu, MPV, D-dimerów, pH oraz HCO3. WNIOSKI: W przebadanej grupie pacjentów z NZK na SOR, zdecydowanie dominują rytmy niedefibrylacyjne (asystolia, PEA). U połowy pacjentów udaje się uzyskać ROSC w warunkach SOR. Istnieją czynniki predykcyjne występowania nagłej śmierci sercowej u pacjentów przebywających w SOR.

Introduction: This study was conducted to correlate the personal formaldehyde (FA) exposure levels of instructors and students with the indoor FA concentrations in gross anatomy laboratory at King Saud University. The personal FA levels of instructors and students are higher than the indoor FA concentration in the gross anatomy laboratory. Materials and Methods: The gross anatomy laboratory at college of medicine, King Saud University Riyadh, was observed for indoor FA concentration and the personal exposure levels of instructors and the medical students during the 4th, 10th and 14th weeks of the dissection sessions. All air samples were collected by the diffusive sampling device and analyzed by using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Results: The personal exposure level of FA was higher than the indoor concentration, and the personal exposure levels of instructors were higher than that of the students. The concentration of FA was also higher in the center of the room than the corners and near the doors. Conclusion: Both the indoor FA concentrations and personal FA exposure levels are higher near the dissecting table than at locations away from it during the gross anatomy laboratory sessions. Thus, the instructors and students are exposed to the higher concentration of FA than the general population.

Escape rooms are increasingly popular all around the world. Due to their popularity, we are also seeing more variations in concept, form, and aim. For example, nowadays we can engage with physical, digital or mixed escape rooms. Escape rooms are also developed for a range of purposes beyond entertainment, including to broadcast a message, train, and/or exchange data. However, past research on escape rooms has focused mostly on analysing physical versions or on investigating if and how escape rooms can educate players. This paper aims to overcome these gaps by exploring how escape rooms (digital, physical or mixed) can be designed for a variety of purposes beyond entertainment. Hence, this paper offers two main contributions: a definition of escape rooms with a purpose and a framework that can be used to both design and analyse escape rooms with a purpose. The framework is initially implemented based on a literature review in the fields of serious games, escape rooms and puzzle design. Its efficacy is then tested through the analysis of three escape rooms with a purpose. Following this analysis, the framework is finalised to include the following key design elements: concept/idea; stakeholders (target players and others); purpose; goal/winning condition; equipment; theme; narrative (puzzle organisation and storytelling methods); puzzle design; and evaluation.

The frequent causes of ships’ detentions by port authorities are abnormalities of marine power plant functioning. Each extended ship lay time in port results in a waste of ship operating time thus costs rise to ship owners. This is connected with improper marine power plant management. In order to avoid this, a ship engineer should have at his disposal computer aided system supporting him in the managing of the marine power plant. One element of the decision making process in managing the marine engine room is to determine how important is each of the tasks which the operators have to do. This estimation is the base to choose the most important tasks and make optimal schedule with them using AHP method. Based on practice, a hierarchic structure of factors influencing a tasks validity in the engine room operating process was made. Next a preliminary questionnaire was conducted, which put questions to the experts as chief engineers next. This enabled to define numerical values of suitable coefficients influencing on the validity of operating tasks, show results of calculations in form of mileage parameters of engine as a function of crank angle.

Escape room (ER) is a live cooperative game in which players need to find a way out of a closed room, or to reach an additional goal by solving a series of riddles and puzzles, in a set amount of time. So far there have been few publications on ERs, particularly in Polish game studies. This paper is an attempt at filling this gap. The history of ERs is described briefly, and the claim is made that the reason for the success and popularity of selected ERs is their immersivity. The rooms of the company Tick Tack, which is located in Gliwice, are used as examples to discuss the topic of ER immersivity and the conditions that a room should meet to engage players fully. The analysis is based on relevant literature and on the author’s own experiences with ERs.
Escape room (ER) to rodzaj kooperacyjnej gry rozgrywanej na żywo. Polega na znalezieniu w określonym czasie wyjścia z zamkniętego pomieszczenia lub wykonaniu innego, dodatkowego celu misji poprzez rozwiązanie serii zagadek i łamigłówek. Dotychczas niewiele prac zostało poświęconych ER, szczególnie w środowisku polskich badaczy gier. Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą wypełnienia tej luki. W tekście przedstawiono krótką historię powstania ER oraz postawiono tezę, że przyczyną sukcesu i popularności wybranych ER jest immersyjność. Zagadnienie immersyjności ER oraz warunki, jakie powinien spełnić dany pokój, aby w pełni zaangażować graczy, omówiono na przykładzie pokoi firmy Tick Tack z Gliwic. Analizę przeprowadzono na podstawie literatury źródłowej oraz własnych doświadczeń z gry.

Experience gained until now underground mining worldwide and in Poland indicates that remnants may have an impact on the occurrence of seismic phenomena. Remnants are stress concentration sites encompassing both the deposit and the layers of rock mass located above and below the undisturbed rock. In the case where stresses in the remnant exceed its strength, it may collapse, and under unfavourable geomechanical conditions, stress-induced rockburst may occur. Remnants may also cause breaking of strong roof layers above their edges, which results in the occurrence of high-energy shocks (Salustowicz [30], Adach [3], Adach and Butra [4]). This article presents the possibility of utilizing numerical modeling to evaluate the influence of remnant upon the occurrence of seismic phenomena. The results of numerical calculations performed for a model room-and-pillar mining system with roof deflection under the conditions of copper ore mines in the Legnica-Głogów Copper District (LGOM) are presented. Numerical calculations in a plane strain state were performed by means of Phase2 v. 8.0 software for the analyzed mining system in which remnant was left behind. The results of numerical modeling showed that sudden fracturing of roof layers above the mined out space may occur on the edge of the remnant. This may cause a shock with very high energy, and under the appropriate conditions, this may lead to the rockburst phenomenon.

The subject of the article is the role of the community after the ruling eviction by the court. There are two types of decisions in this topic. The first one, when the court adjudicates social housing and the second, when the court does not rule such premises. Emptying the premises was regulated in the Act of November 17, 1964 - the Code of Civil Procedure. According to its content, the municipality is obliged to provide social housing, emergency accommodation or temporary space. The last one must be indicated when the judgment debtor is not entitled to premises. Each of these units must fulfill the relevant conditions. The bailiff must remain in constant contact with the community so as to ensure safe conditions for the debtor. In Polish law there is also a protection period for which social housing is not entitled. This article describes these issues, together with an indication of the legal basis.

The image of moths gathering around a source of light recurs in Woolf’s private writings and becomes an import motif also in her novels and essays. It is most probably the description of moths in her sister’s letter that become an initial inspiration for writing of The Waves, Woolf’s most radical experiment in novelistic form, where she strives to create a subject-less perspective. On the other hand The Death of The Moth, a 1927 essay, whose first translation into Polish comes together with the present commentary from the translator, is a crystal-clear description of the world as seen by the writer/narrator at her desk, surrounded by exuberant life but witnessing death.

The authors of the article attempt to expand the discourse on curatorial practices in the field of performing arts by introducing the notion of shared room. By making reference to their own experience in curating, they create a metaphor which serves both as a tool for describing the precarious position of curators and for designing alternative strategies of doing this work based on the ideas of solidarity, relationality and sharing. In the first part the authors present their understanding of curatorial practice situating it in the context of those definitions of curating that they recognise as dominating in the Polish context. The second part of the article deals with four aspects of the shared room metaphor: its relational ontology; the precarious condition of its inhabitants; the strategies of sharing employed in it; and the reproductive work done in it and understood as creative practice.

Celem pracy była ocena kształtowania się jasności na ławkach ustawionych w narożach akademickiej sali dydaktycznej w porównaniu do stojących w środkowej części pomieszczenia przy oświetleniu naturalnym, sztucznym i mieszanym. Badania przeprowadzono w stosunkowo małej pracowni z dwoma dużymi oknami, zorientowanymi na południową stronę świata. Pomieszczenie wyposażone było w lampy typu świetlówki. Sondę luksomierza ustawiano na blatach ławek, czyli w płaszczyźnie roboczej, w której studenci wykonywali operacje typu pisanie lub kreślenie. Nie stwierdzono bardziej niekorzystnych wartości natężenia oświetlenia na ławkach znajdujących się w narożach audytorium przy jego oświetleniu w sposób naturalny, za pomocą elektryczności oraz w przypadku łącznego wykorzystania okien i lamp do uzyskania komfortu wizualnego we wnętrzu. Jednak dla uzyskania bardziej uogólnionych wyników badań należałoby wykonać podobne pomiary w pomieszczeniu dydaktycznym o dużo większej powierzchni i z większą ilością ławek.
The aim of this study was to evaluate formation of brightness on benches in corners of didactic room compared to benches in center of the room at natural lighting, artificial and mixed. Researches were conducted in small lab with two large windows oriented to the south side of the world. The room was equipped with a fluorescent lamp. The probe of the light meter set on benches that is, in a working plane where students wrote and scrabbled. Not found more adverse illuminance on benches in corners of the lab at natural lighting, artificial and mixed. However, to obtain more generalized findings should perform similar measurements in bigger didactic room with more benches.

A total of 69 isolates of yeasts were recorded in the indoor air of the school buildings: 43 in heated rooms and 26 in unheated rooms. Perfect stages prevailed. Fungi isolated in our study belonged to 39 species. These were mostly monospecific isolates although five two-species isolates were noted. Differences in the properties of physiological characters of fungi isolated in both study seasons were observed. As indoor and outdoor air does not mix during the heating season, a specific substrate for prototrophic, non-fermenting yeastlike fungi forms. Acid production allows fungi to dissolve inorganic compounds in building structures and to release needed microcomponents. Abilities to produce carotenoid pigments are clearly promoted in yeast-like fungi living indoor. This may be related to the accumulation of compounds that are indirect stages in the cycle of biosynthesis of carotenoids or a surplus of oxidizing compounds.
Znaczną część biocenozy budynków stanowią trudno wykrywalne grzyby z różnych grup taksonomicznych. U podstawy niepowodzeń w hodowli i izolacji drożdżaków z bioaerozolu wewnętrznego leży zbyt mała wiedza dotycząca ekofizjologii izolatów bytujących w pomieszczeniach. Dlatego celem badań było poznanie niektórych właściwości drożdżaków, ułatwiających im przeżywanie w środowisku pomieszczeń. Materiałem do badań były grzyby drożdżopodobne uzyskane z bioaerozolu 26 pomieszczeń szkolnych o różnym sposobie użytkowania poddanych częściowej modernizacji. Próby pobierano w okresie grzewczym (listopad) i po wyłączeniu ogrzewania (maj). Określano morfologię uzyskanych izolatów grzybów, stadium rozwojowe, zdolności strzępkowania i wytwarzania chlamydospor oraz wybrane cechy biochemiczne: zdolności fermentacyjne, źródła węgla i azotu, przyswajanie witamin, wytwarzanie kwasów oraz zdolności syntezowania barwników. Ogólna liczba grzybów w bioaerozolu badanych pomieszczeń wynosiła wiosną od 314 do 3577 jtk/m 3, natomiast jesienią od 79 do 1533 jtk/m 3 . Z powietrza wewnętrznego w badanych budynkach uzyskano łącznie 69 izolatów drożdży: 43 z pomieszczeń ogrzewanych i 26 z nieogrzewanych. Dominowały stadia doskonałe. Wyizolowane grzyby należały do 39 gatunków. Na ogół izolaty były jednogatunkowe, natomiast w pięciu przypadkach stwierdzono izolaty dwugatunkowe. Zaobserwowano różnice w cechach fizjologicznych grzybów izolowanych w obu sezonach badawczych. Nie mieszanie się powietrza zewnętrznego i wewnętrznego pomieszczeń w okresie grzewczym stwarza specyficzne siedlisko dla prototroficznych, nie fermentujących grzybów droż-dżopodobnych. Produkcja kwasu umożliwia grzybom rozpuszczanie związków nieorganicznych w konstrukcjach budowlanych i uwalnianie potrzebnych mikroskładników. Zdolności wytwarzania barwników karotenoidowych, są wyraźnie promowane u drożdżaków bytujących w pomieszczeniach, co być może wiąże się z nagromadzeniem związków będących pośrednimi etapami w cyklu biosyntezy karotenoidów oraz nadmiarem związków utleniających.

Several authors have proposed indices to synthesize the acoustics of a space, especially of concert halls. Meanwhile, a few studies have focused on the acoustics of worship spaces. The peculiarities of these last ones have shown distinctive characteristics. The increasing interest for the acoustics of worship spaces justifies the formulation of indices to synthesize the results of acoustic studies in these buildings too. This paper proposes a double synthetic index to evaluate the acoustics of a church. The index is obtained combining the average values of seven parameters generally considered in studies of architectural acoustics. The differences between requirements for music and speech in churches suggest to consider different optimal values of the selected parameters for different kinds of sound. A double synthetic index has been defined to synthesize the acoustical properties related to the music and to the speech separately. The validity of this double index is then assessed, comparing its values with subjective preferences captured through listening tests. The index, which is proposed and validated in this paper, aims to be an instrument to show synthetically the acoustical characteristics of a church to people with low knowledge in acoustics.

The church of Santa Cruz de Oleiros, Spain (1967) shows architect Miguel Fisac’s perception of sacred space after the Second Vatican Council. In this place of worship, the architect responded to the new liturgical guidelines combining geometry and architectural forms with the material of the moment, concrete. However, ordinary religious celebrations reveal acoustic deficiencies for the main use of the building. This fact is corroborated by acoustic measurements in situ. With a methodology that uses simulation techniques for the sound field, the analysis of the current acoustic behaviour of the room will serve as the basis for an acoustic rehabilitation proposal aimed at improving the acoustic conditions and so, the functionality of the church.

In the article, I focus on the children’s perception of the everyday life in a therapeutic common room, where they spend time after school. In my research, I gave voice to small charges so that they could tell what this place is for them. I present the statements of children who spend a few hours in a common room every day. I place my research in the qualitative trend, in the research I use the analysis of personal documents created intentionally, these are written statements of children, which contain their assessment, thoughts, reflections and feelings they experience in relation to staying in a common room. Rarely from a child’s point of view, phenomena, places and processes are described. The aim of my research is to get to know, understand and describe the world of the common room seen through the eyes of children, participants of the offered support. In research I am looking for the answer to the question: How do children perceive everyday life in a therapeutic common room? I make the description according to the categories selected from children’s statements. From the analysis of children’s written statements regarding the perception of a common room by children, in which they spend daily time after school, the following conclusions arise. Children like to stay in a common room, they feel safe, have a good time and have fun, in their opinion a lot is happening in a common room, the common room is a very “cool” place. In a common room, children have many colleagues. They like a commonroom staff. They like to participate in activities organized in a common room, they have their favourite games. Children also like to spend time outdoors, on the playground, on Orlik, on walks and on trips. Children like a common room equipment, in particular toys and rooms, they especially like to stay in the kitchen.

Historic interiors with large cubature, such as reception, theatrical, and concert halls, need to be renovated periodically if they are to be preserved as cultural heritage for future generations. In such cases it is necessary to maintain appropriate balance between requirements imposed by heritage conservation authorities office which are usually being given a higher priority, applicable safety regulations, and the comfort of use, including good acoustics. The paper is a presentation of architectural interference in three historic interiors with large cubature leading to changes in their acoustic qualities. In two cases, the changes were beneficial to the functional qualities of the halls to satisfaction of the investors carrying out the renovation work. In the third instance, the architectural interference aimed at showing off the monumental valor of the interior resulted in significant degradation of its acoustics. To remedy the situation impairing the functional program of the facility, corrective measures are proposed neutral with respect to its historic character.

This article presents results of an investigation of the influence of smoking cigarettes on the concentration of fine particles - 16- 626 nm in diameter - suspended in the air of a room. Particle concentrations were determined before and up to 57 minutes after three cigarettes had been smoked in the room.

Relatively great number of detected and confirmed oil spillages in the Polish marine areas reveals that discharge of oil substances from any one of a large number of ships to the marine environment is real in any time. Surface oil contamination can be easily detected by satellite or airborne radar techniąues, but unfortunately oil dispersed in the bulk of water cannot be detected at the present. Discharge waters usually contain small amounts ofoil substances in the form of dispersed droplets (emulsion). It is revealed that oil emulsion cause measurable changes in the optical properties of seawater. In practice, detection of changes of these properties should be possible by the standard radiance or irradiance reflectance meter. This paper presents a computed photon trace simulation applied to the marine environment polluted by oil-in-water emulsion. Model of marine area consists ofwhether conditions, sun elevation, sea depth, optical properties of seawater related to various transparency/turbidity: from clean oceanic waters to turbid coastal seawater (as water from Gulf of Gdańsk is). Model of oil pollution is represented by oil droplets size distribution and by spectra of both attenuation-coefficient and refraction-coefficient related to two optically absolutely different kinds of oil. It is revealed that the values of irradiance reflectance are significantly differ for the clean sea area in relation to the polluted one, even for small amounts of engine-room origin oil pollution.

CO, CxHy, NO, NOx and dust concentrations from a cherry stones supplied boiler with a nominal heat output of 15 kW were researched in a heat station. In the entrained flow furnace designed for firing wood pellets, melting and sintering ash phenomenon could not be successfully avoided. In comparison to wood pellet combustion, the observed boiler heat efficiency was lower. CO concentration was relatively high but did not exceed the permitted value. The impact of temperature in the combustion chamber and oxygen concentration on pollutant concentrations was determined. Pollutant emission indicators were estimated.

W palenisku typu narzutowego do peletów drzewnych, mimo obni)enia temperatury, nie udało sie uniknac całkowicie zjawiska mieknienia i zlepiania sie popiołu. Uzyskano ni)sza ni) dla peletów drzewnych sprawnosc cieplna kotła oraz wy)sze ste)enie tlenku wegla, lecz poni)ej dopuszczalnej wartosci. Okreslono wpływ temperatury w komorze spalania i ste)enia tlenu na ste)enia zanieczyszczen. Oszacowano wskazniki emisji.

Fungal diseases are a persistent problem in the cultivation of white button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus). The chemical control of pathogens is becoming less effective and less desirable, so new ways to limit these infections are urgently required. What is more, the disease is mostly controlled through cultural practices and good hygiene on mushroom farms. The aim of this study was to evaluate the fungicidal effects of ozone on fungal pathogens of common mushrooms. Experiments with the use of ozone gas for disinfection of growing rooms after the completion of the mushroom growing cycle were carried out. The fungicidal effectiveness of ozone fumigation was evaluated on the basis of the survival rate of the spores of the pathogens tested (Lecanicillium fungicola, Cladobotryum dendroides, Mycogone perniciosa, and Trichoderma aggressivum). Spore suspension was applied to aluminum plates and then was exposed to gaseous ozone. The assessment of the growth of colonies of fungal isolates obtained from infected surfaces was carried out using Rodac contact test plates. The results showed that L. fungicola, M. perniciosa, and C. dendroides isolates were sensitive to the gas ozone. In order to achieve 100% efficacy against Mycogone strains, a minimum of 6 hours of ozonation had to be applied, whereas for Cladobotryum strains, a minimum of 8 hours had to be applied. The Lecanicillium species was the most sensitive to ozonation because 30 minutes of ozonation was enough to gain 100% inhibition of its growth. No satisfactory results were obtained in the case of the pathogenic species of Trichoderma, regardless of the experimental conditions. Nevertheless, this study has demonstrated the usefulness of ozone as a disinfectant for empty growing rooms after the completion of the mushrooms’ cultivation cycle.

W artykule przedstawiono system monitoringu oddalonych kotłowni na przykładzie stworzonego narzędzia opartego o aplikację internetową SMOK. System SMOK zainstalowano w kilkudziesięciu kotłowniach o mocach >100 kW. Dzięki zdalnej rejestracji i monitorowania parametrów kotłów można optymalnie wprowadzać zmiany i korekty dla zapewnienia optymalnej ich pracy. Suma zysków to spadek zużycia gazu lub oleju do 10% w stosunku do analogicznych temperaturowo lat minionych. Przedstawiono przykłady zarejestrowanych awarii oddalonych od siebie kotłów oraz zaprezentowano systemy zdalnego odczytu liczników energii elektrycznej.
A monitoring system for remote boiler rooms using the special created tool based on Internet application SMOK is presented in this paper. The SMOK system was installed at the tens of boiler rooms of more than 100 kW power. Thanks to the remote recording and monitoring of boiler parameters, the optimal changes and corrections can be made to ensure the optimal operation of boilers. The benefit from such a solution is less usage of gas and oil, by up to 10% in relation to the previous years of comparable temperature. There are presented some examples of the recorded breakdowns of remote boiler rooms and the systems for remote reading of electricity meters. These systems support remote reading meters of different types and from different manufacturers. The measurement data are stored in databases from where they can be retrieved and processed by the client software. Data at different levels can be transmitted using various transmission media such as (PSTN, GSM-CSD, GPRS, Ethernet). Another system that has been implemented in some regions of our country is the system based on PLC technology ADDAX. The network for the transmission of digital data is used for two-way ADDAX.Net exchange of information between the device remote users and network customers.

With a single approach to modeling elements of different physical nature, the method of Bond Graph (BG) is particularly well suited for modeling energy systems consisting of mechanical, thermal, electrical and hydraulic elements that operate in the power system engine room. The paper refers to the earlier presented [2] new concept of thermal process modeling using the BG method. The authors own suggestions for determining causality in models of thermal processes created by the said concept were given. The analysis of causality makes it possible to demonstrate the model conflicts that prevent the placement of state equations which allows for the direct conduct of simulation experiments. Attention has been drawn to the link between the energy systems models of thermal processes with models of elements of different physical nature. Two examples of determining causality in models of complex energy systems of thermal elements have been presented. The firs relates to the electrical system associated with the process of heat exchange. The second is a model of the mechanical system associated with the thermodynamic process.

Copper, manganese and tin are commonly used as pearlite promoter elements in cast irons. A number of studies have been aimed at quantitatively evaluate the effect of each of these elements, individually or at given levels of the others. As a matter of fact, while tin may be necessary for achieving a fully pearlitic matrix, it is known that when in excess it is detrimental for mechanical properties. As the pearlite promoting effect of each of those elements is totally different, it is of real interest to know the optimum combination of them for a given cooling rate. The present report is a first part of a work dedicated at characterizing the best alloying levels in terms of room temperature mechanical properties of as-cast pearlitic materials.

We focus on the EU Structural Funds and women entrepreneurs' access to resources through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Combining human geography and political science, we draw upon network and partnership theory posing questions concerning the room for manoeuvre for women entrepreneurs to gain access to relevant networks, to create new networks in order to establish relations with EU related partnerships, and to gain access to the process of allocating EU structural fund financial resources.

Hot surfaces in ship engine rooms are the risk objects that most frequently contribute to fire ignition. Thermography, especially when using thermal cameras, offers many advantages over more common infrared thermometers, but dedicated systems are often prohibitively expensive. An affordable hybrid approach was thus tested in this study, where a low-cost thermal camera smartphone was paired with a common infrared thermometer. Measurements were taken in situ during a sea voyage in an engine room under normal operating conditions, and the surfaces of the main engine, the generating set auxiliary engine, and the exhaust gas boiler were tested. Several areas were discovered to be well above the generally-accepted temperature limit of 220°C, primarily due to absent or poor insulation. Clear recommendations for remediation are made, and the proposed testing method offers fast, easy, effective, and affordable inspection.

Activities in an immersive room were used to teach pre-service math teachers about Platonic solids and were then analysed for their effectiveness. The results show that an immersive room is a promising tool to overcome students' difficulties in comprehending geometry by allowing them a more direct visualization of 3D shapes.
Zajęcia w pracowni interaktywnej wykorzystano do kształcenia nauczycieli stażystów matematyki na temat brył platońskich, a następnie analizowane ich skuteczności. Wyniki pokazują, że pracownia interaktywna jest obiecującym narzędziem do przezwyciężenia trudności uczniów w zrozumieniu geometrii, umożliwiając im bardziej bezpośrednią wizualizację kształtów 3D.

The cuboidal room acoustics field is modelled with the Fourier method. A combination of uniform, impedance boundary conditions imposed on walls is assumed, and they are expressed by absorption coefficient values. The absorption coefficient, in the full range of its values in the discrete form, is considered. With above assumptions, the formula for a rough estimation of the cuboidal room acoustics is derived. This approximate formula expresses the mean sound pressure level as a function of the absorption coefficient, frequency, and volume of the room separately. It is derived based on the least-squares approximation theory and it is a novelty in the cuboidal room acoustics. Theoretical considerations are illustrated via numerical calculations performed for the 3D acoustic problem. Quantitative results received with the help of the approximate formula may be a point of reference to the numerical calculations.

This article discusses requirements for the extinguishing systems in the engine room. The sources of fire hazards in engine rooms were characterized. The causes and consequences of selected engine room fires that occurred within the last five years were presented. The basic requirements for the fire-extinguishing systems installed in engine rooms were scrutinized. The most commonly used fire-extinguishing systems in engine rooms are the ones containing a gaseous extinguishing agent. Their main advantages are short response time after agent release and the ability to supply an extinguishing medium to areas that are hard to access. The agent used in such systems does not cause damage and there is no need to remove its residues after fighting the fire, as in the case of other agents such as foams. As an example, a CO2 system was characterized, as it is the most frequently used in engine rooms.

Complex assessment of working conditions is a source of information necessary to ensure safety of work. The process involving assessment of working conditions and effective collection and management of information needed to carry it out and to document it requires computer support. The paper presents issues concerning building of a model for computer system supporting the process of assessment of working conditions at control room operator's workstation.

Contribution of marine carriage in the global transport is in permanent developing. It leads to increase the unintentional oil spills, which may induce serious disturbances in functioning of the natural marine ecosystem, especially when it interferes with other technical activities in the marine space. That fact contributes to increase the interest in searching of new research techniques to protect the natural ecosystem. Therefore, the main task of marine international organisations concentrates on the effective and rapid detection of oil spill and on the possibility of identifying oil pollutants as well as on origin of pollution. The purpose of the study is to characterise the oil belonging to the vessel engine lubricate oils. We analyse the stage results of investigations based on one of types of fluorescence spectroscopy, namely: synchronous spectra. To characterise the oil, the Aqualog Horiba spectrofluorometer was applied, which allows performing precise measurement in a short time. Based on the measured excitation-emission spectra, total synchronous fluorescence spectra for oil were obtained using various wavelength intervals. Total synchronous fluorescence spectra of petroleum substances allow finding wavelength interval typical for particular type of oil. This approach could allow obtaining of complex mixtures, such as oils, more efficient description. We discuss the total synchronous fluorescence spectra for engine oil (Marinol type) dissolved in n-hexane in various concentrations of oil as a possible tool proposed to oil type identification. We present changes and variation of the total synchronous fluorescence spectra for oil with various oil concentrations.

The paper presents the system of evaluation of education currently in force in Poland. In order to standardize the quality of education in all the courses and in all of the higher education institutions the State Accreditation Committee was founded in the present form in 2002. There were prepared criteria that include the issues associated to assuring the adequate conditions of studying as far as the didactic base is concerned, teaching staff, didactic programmes (included the fulfilling the basic programme minimum), organization of the didactic process, etc. The Maritime University of Gdynia educates and trains the specialist for working at sea. Thus far, the didactic system must meet the requirements not only of the SAC (typic al for a technical university) but also of the STCW convention that imposes adequate requirements as far as the subjects, number of hours, periods and subjects of practical training, etc. is concerned. For the graduates that will work at sea, the problems of meeting criteria of education were presented taking Faculty of Marine Engineering of the Maritime University of Gdynia as an example the, which prepares students in the course of Mechanics and Machine Building and prepares graduates for the work at sea as mechanic officer of merchant marine. The paper presents Medium Speed Engine Room Full Mission Simulator. The simulator has been developed based on cutting-edge solutions currently used in medium-sized, computer controlled engine rooms (one four-stroke type main engine with a reduction gear and controllable pitch propeller). This kind of computer controlled engine room is typically in use on modern container ships.

W ciągu kilku lat wygląd sali operacyjnej uległ diametralnym zmianom. Zauważyć można je głównie w pojawieniu się wielu urządzeń, które otaczające chirurga powodują ograniczenie i tak małej przestrzeni na sali operacyjnej. Także dostęp do tych urządzeń jest ograniczony, a praca chirurga jest uzależniona od informacji o wskazaniach urządzeń, które są przekazywane od poszczególnych członków zespołu. W celu polepszenia wydajności pracy, ergonomii i zapewnienia kontroli nad aparaturą, opracowana została koncepcja stworzenia systemu komputerowego. Dzięki systemowi personel medyczny na jednym monitorze może przeglądać wyniki badań oraz sterować urządzeniami takimi jak stół czy lampa operacyjna.
The image of operating room has been changed in the last years. These changes are exposing in appearance of many medical devices. The devices surround the surgeon and diminish space of operating room. The surgeon work depends on information about variable devices, which are pass over medical staff. In order to improve the efficient, ergonomic and control features of medical devices the scheme of concept of computer system has been proposed. This system enables medical staff to watch the result of examination and control medical equipment.

W dobie migracji młodych rodzin oraz pracy obojga rodziców świetlice pełnią coraz bardziej znaczącą rolę. Wypełnione po brzegi podopiecznymi niekoniecznie odpowiednio wykonują swoje zadania. Co zrobić, aby świetlica szkolna jako instytucja była miła i przyjazna dziecku, wspierała jego rozwój i tym samym zmieniła negatywne postrzeganie społeczeństwa? Co należy zmienić, aby nie postrzegać świetlic jako przechowalni dzieci i nauczycieli? Artykuł ten jest próbą odpowiedzi na powyższe pytania.
Common classrooms used to be created in order to make up for families’ educational deficiencies and functioned somewhat similar to nowadays nurseries. They were to help dysfunctional families and to provide a child with support, care and opportunity to develop. Such common rooms still exist nowadays but concurrently there are also school common rooms, which function as care and educational institutions that help parents in upbringing their children and support the overall development of their children. In times like nowadays when families migrate a lot and both parents are working, school common rooms are playing more and more significant role. However, being entirely overfilled by pupils, school common rooms not necessarily serve their purpose. What should be done in order to make the school common room as an organization become a nice and friendly place for a child, support its development and thus change the society negative perception of it? What should be changed for the school common room not to be perceived as a storage room for children and teachers? This article attempts to answer the above questions.

Opis:
The normal mode solution for the form function and target strength (TS) of a solid-filled spherical shell is derived. The calculation results of the spherical shell’s acoustic TS are in good agreement with the results of the finite element method (FEM). Based on these normal mode solutions, the influences of parameters such as the material, radius, and thickness of the inner and outer shells on the TS of a solid-filled spherical shell are analyzed. An underwater spherical shell scatterer is designed, which uses room temperature vulcanized (RTV) silicone rubber as a solid filling material and does not contain a suspension structure inside. The scatterer has a good TS enhancement effect.

Liczba uczniów wymagających terapii pedagogicznej w szkołach wciąż wzrasta, na co wpływ miał m.in. długi okres nauczania zdalnego. Coraz większa rola mediów w życiu dzieci oddziałuje również na to, że organizacja zajęć korekcyjno-kompensacyjnych musi ulegać ciągłym ulepszeniom, tak aby oferta była dostosowana do potrzeb dzieci i zaleceń poradni psychologiczno-pedagogicznej, a jednocześnie atrakcyjna. Wdrożone w trakcie kształcenia na odległość metody i techniki z wykorzystaniem technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych znajdują również zastosowanie w salach szkolnych, wyposażonych w odpowiedni sprzęt. Rekomendowane jest także wdrażanie nowatorskich rozwiązań dydaktycznych, które oprócz osiągnięcia celów terapeutycznych pozwolą rozwinąć twórcze myślenie dzieci i umiejętność pracy w grupie, a ponadto rozbudzą ich motywację i ciekawość poznawczą. W artykule poruszono kwestię ich doboru, jak również zaproponowano warte uwagi metody i formy pracy oraz narzędzia na podstawie własnych doświadczeń.
The number of pupils requiring pedagogical therapy in schools is constantly increasing as a result of influence of e.g. prolonged period of remote education. Increasingly significant role of media in life of children also resulted in the need for constantly improving the organization of remedial classes in order to adapt the education offer to needs of children and recommendations of the psychological-pedagogical dispensaries and at the same time in the need for making the education offer more attractive. The methods and techniques utilizing information and communication technologies implemented during the remote education period are also utilized in school classrooms furnished with appropriate hardware. Implementation of innovative educational solutions which apart from reaching education goals enable developing creative thinking and teamwork skills among children and which also spark children’s motivation and cognitive curiosity is also recommended. The paper touches upon the issue of selecting such techniques and presents several proposals regarding noteworthy methods and forms of work as well as the tools developed on the basis of own experience.
