Opis:
Library has for centuries been associated with books arranged systematically on shelves, ubiquitous silence and dust. Despite constant changes taking place in libraries, they are still regarded as outdated, archaic creations. The history of libraries dating back to the third millennium B.C. and the moment of introduction of printing presses (15-16th century) is evidence of very small social coverage. Since the end of the 20th century libraries and library services have been under strong pressure of the development of science and technology, that's why adapting to the surrounding Word they are experiencing „a new start". Apart from previous functions: collecting, preparing and granting access to books, they play the role of modern centers of scientific information. More and more often the issue of marketing of library services and innovative approach to disseminating knowledge through digitalization is discussed. Among the pioneers there are certainly the National Library, the University of Warsaw Library and the Silesian Library. Smaller libraries owned by scientific and research institutions such as the library of the Institute of Aviation and the library of the Institute of Law Studies, which also play a major role in promoting knowledge, are following in their footsteps. The article will present the methods of applying modern solutions with regard to traditional libraries, as this is the approach expected by the contemporary reader. Responding to the needs of the reader = client, libraries have become a segment of the market. An exceptional part of this sector are scientific libraries. Thus, it is necessary to think how it is possible to use particular knowledge for the promotion of scientific institutions superior to libaries.

Czas pandemii COVID-19 i ograniczenia z tym związane wpłynęły na sposób funkcjonowania, udostępnianie zasobów oraz wprowadzanie nowych, wymuszonych przez okoliczności, form dotarcia do użytkowników. Cyfryzacja, rozwijanie usług wirtualnych i rozszerzenie działalności marketingowej bibliotek sieci Uniwersytetu Szczecińskiego zmieniło sposób postrzegania samej biblioteki, jak i jej pracowników.
The academic library in a time of pandemic with the example of network libraries of the University of Szczecin. Starting in 2020, academic libraries had to redefine their services and channels of communication with readers. The time of the COVID-19 pandemic and the limitations related with it influenced the way libraries operate, how they share their resources and develop new, forced by circumstances forms of reaching users. Digitization, the development of on-line services and the expansion of marketing activities of the libraries of the University of Szczecin have changed the perception of the library itself as well as its employees.

Artykuł opiera się na analizie wyników badania ankietowego przeprowadzonego wśród bibliotek państwowych szkół wyższych. Celem badania było przedstawienie, w jakim stopniu fizyczne zamknięcie bibliotek oraz przejście na naukę zdalną wpłynęło na modyfikacje świadczonych usług w okresie od marca 2020 do lipca 2021 roku. Wnioski z przeprowadzonego badania pokazały, że książnice akademickie są jednostkami elastycznymi, szybko adaptującymi oferowane usługi do nowej rzeczywistości. Prócz zaprezentowanych rozwiązań przedstawiono kierunki, w jakich biblioteki powinny nadal się rozwijać nawet w perspektywie powrotu do nauki stacjonarnej.
The response of academic libraries to the remote learning model: analysis of solutions from a national perspective This article is based on the analysis of the results of a survey conducted among academic libraries. The aim of the study was to show how physical closure and remote learning modified the services provided between March 2020 and July 2021. The conclusions show that libraries are flexible entities, quickly adapting their services to new realities. In addition to the presented solutions, the directions in which libraries should develop even with the prospect of a return to full-time learning are presented.

Opis:
The aim of the paper is to discuss the questionnaire survey of user’s satisfaction in the Main Library of the Wrocław University of Economics, conducted in Spring 2017. The study is preceded by the presentation of the Library’s scientific resources and services. Basing on the original report of the survey, as well as subject literature from the librarianship and scientific information fields of science, the paper presents and discusses the strengths and weaknesses of the Library, as perceived by the survey’s respondents, considering the user’s satisfaction from the Library’s services and resources. The Library’s strengths and weakness are confronted with both suggested and already implemented changes in the Library’s organization and offer of library services, for the purpose of effective quality improvement of the Library’s services and its user’s satisfaction in the future.
Celem artykułu jest omówienie badania ankietowego satysfakcji użytkowników Biblioteki Głównej Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego we Wrocławiu (dalej: Biblioteka), przeprowadzonego wiosną 2017 roku. Analizę poprzedza prezentacja zasobów naukowych i usług Biblioteki. Bazując na oryginalnym raporcie badania ankietowego oraz na literaturze przedmiotu z dyscypliny bibliotekoznawstwa i informacji naukowej, autor prezentuje i omawia mocne i słabe strony Biblioteki, uwzględniając satysfakcję użytkowników z usług i zasobów bibliotecznych. Mocne i słabe strony Biblioteki są skonfrontowane zarówno z sugerowanymi, jak i już wdrażanymi zmianami w organizacji i w ofercie Biblioteki, w celu efektywnej poprawy jakości usług i satysfakcji użytkowników w przyszłości.

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted library activities. Libraries faced with a choice which services they can safely offer to their users to ensure that the readers always have access to the information they need. The article presents the functioning of the University of Lodz Library (BUŁ) during the pandemic. It presents the applied solutions and services adapted to the epidemiological situation, which allowed readers of the University of Lodz Library use its resources in a satisfactory and safe manner.

Od początku istnienia idei Web 2.0 w bibliotekach, tj. od pierwszych lat XXI wieku, rozwój techniczny i technologiczny służył poprawie komunikacji bibliotekarzy i czytelników. Dzięki Web 2.0 czytelnicy wpływają na jakość i formę proponowanych im usług bibliotecznych i dlatego ważna jest obserwacja, ocena oraz dostosowanie potrzeb użytkowników do współczesnego modelu biblioteki. Autorka artykułu poddała analizie stan badań Web 2.0 w bibliotekach, w tym przede wszystkim sfery blogów, serwisów społecznościowych i innych aplikacji internetowych. Na podstawie analizy zagranicznej literatury fachowej autorka wskazała istotne tendencje, metody i wyniki badań zaobserwowane w bibliotekach różnych krajów świata, Europy i Polski.
From the moment the idea of Web 2.0 entered libraries, i.e. from the first years of the 21th century, technical and technological development has been used to improve the communication between librarians and readers. Owing to the idea of 2.0 Web, readers can influence the quality and the form of library services offered to them. Therefore, observation, evaluation and adaptation of users' needs to the contemporary model of libraries are important. The author of the article has analyzed the state of the research on Web 2.0 at libraries, mainly the sphere of blogs, social networking and other web applications. On the basis of the analysis of foreign specialist literature, the author presents some essential tendencies, methods and research conclusions observed in libraries of different countries of the world, Europe, and also Poland.

W artykule zaprezentowano zagadnienie nowych funkcji społecznych bibliotek. Dotychczasowa koncentracja na usługach informacyjnych tych instytucji ewoluuje bowiem w obliczu zwiększającej się dostępności informacji w formie zdalnej. Biblioteki, które powoli przestają być głównym źródłem wiedzy naukowej oraz celem poszukiwań użytkowników, przeobrażają się w miejsca spotkań, miejsca otwarte dla lokalnych społeczności oraz środowisk profesjonalnych, realizujące także cele społeczne i integracyjne. W związku z tym przedstawiono przykłady działań realizujących te cele oraz wskazano na istotną rolę personelu bibliotecznego w procesie aktywizacji społecznej bibliotek.
The paper discusses new social functions of libraries. Because information is increasing accessible online, libraries start switching from information provision to other kinds of services. Libraries are no longer the main source of scientific information for their users. Instead, they transform into meeting places and open spaces for local communities and professional circles, while at the same time pursuing social goals and promoting integration. The paper presents some of the activities libraries undertake to achieve such goals, focusing on the role of librarians in the process of social engagement of libraries.

Contemporary libraries of the twenty-first century are characterized by a marked fluctuation of roles and functions commonly ascribed to them. Librarians are expected to be capable of anticipating them and addressing them appropriately in order to satisfy the requirements set up by users. This article is an attempt to discuss the most important changes that have hitherto been done and to indicate those areas of the activity of research, academic, public and, to a lesser degree, school libraries in which those changes will be particularly pronounced. Anticipated roles and tasks within the management and access to resources, building up own electronic resources and their processing, library space, embarking on tasks hitherto not regarded as strictly ''library" tasks as well as the most important changes in the author's view such as those to be introduced in user services, in-service trainings, education and propagation of knowledge are discussed in the article. The author believes that the new functions, on par with those already existing, should be subjected to actual users, but also to potential ones, even deeper than before. This should effect in creating the library environment as a ''meeting place", some kind of a social space to perform entirely new functions superimposed onto traditional ones in the library information. The new functions will include performing new cultural, educational, social, artistic and communal tasks carried out with a co-operation with other libraries, scientific, educational and cultural instructions. Additionally, the problem of changes in work force management, so vital in the supposed and anticipated transformation of the library and its functions, is evaluated and discussed.

The article is an attempt to present the process of revival of the Crimean Tatar ethnic minority’s national library in the multiethnic society of Crimea. The most important events from the over 25-year-long history of the Library are discussed alongside with a description of its current structure and functions, procedures and activities, including available services, library processes, as well as its educational, methodological, scientific and editorial activity.

Opis:
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie zmian zachodzących w ostatnich latach w strukturze i intensywności wypożyczeń międzybibliotecznych na przykładzie Biblioteki Głównej Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego w Krakowie (BG UEK). Omówiono także rozwój organizacji pracy i zakresu usług świadczonych przez Wypożyczalnię Międzybiblioteczną (WM), w tym sposób dokumentacji i raportowania wyników jej działalności. Na podstawie danych z ostatnich lat przedstawiono zmiany liczby zamówień w podziale m.in. na typ czytelnika i formę materiałów bibliotecznych. Wyniki badań pokazały, że w badanym okresie miał miejsce spadek liczby zarówno wypożyczeń realizowanych przez WM, jak i wypożyczeń miejscowych w Wypożyczalni Ogólnej. Pogłębiona analiza dowodzi, że ta tendencja jest ujemnie skorelowana z rosnącą liczbą odwiedzin zbiorów elektronicznych. W kontekście zmian zachodzących w internetowej technologii udostępniania i pozyskiwania informacji rozwinięto wątek funkcji informacyjno-edukacyjnej w działalności przedstawianej agendy.
The aim of the article is to present the changes in the structure and the volume of interlibrary loan taking place in recent years, on the example of the Main Library of the Cracow University of Economics. The authors of the article also discuss the development of work organization and the range of services provided by Interlibrary Loan (ILL), including its documentation and reports. On the basis of the recent years’ data, changes in the number of loans were analysed, taking into consideration the user type and form of the loaned material. The analysis of the library statistics shows that during the period in question there was a decrease in the number of loans made through ILL, as well as local loans in the General Lending. An in-depth analysis shows that this trend is negatively correlated with the increasing number of visits to electronic databases. The informational and educational function of the presented department has been presented in the context of changes in online technology of data sharing and acquisition.

Libraries as centers for gathering, processing and sharing information play an important role in the information society. The Internet and social media have started a new way of publishing and searching information within library’s resources and activities. Further changes related to the development of scientific communication and research workflow (like in “Science 3.0” paradigm) imply the necessity of further progress of library services. It is concluded that further progression in network communication and new technological solutions offer a chance for new implementations and promotion of library services. Users in this case should be treating not only as passive consumers. Librarians face the challenge of offering services that meets the needs of readers, with the full use of technological potential. The key route of communication with the user remains the sphere of education at all levels of advancement.
Biblioteki jako centra gromadzenia, przetwarzania i udostępniania informacji odgrywają ważną rolę w społeczeństwie informacyjnym. Internet, a później media społecznościowe zapoczątkowały nowy sposób w publikowaniu i wyszukiwania informacji o zasobach i działaniach biblioteki. Dalsze zmiany związane z rozwojem komunikacji naukowej i warsztatu badawczego (zebrane m.in. pod hasłem Nauka 3.0) implikują konieczność dalszego postępu usług bibliotecznych. Wnioskuje się przy tym, iż postępująca komunikacja sieciowa oraz nowe rozwiązania technologiczne oferują szansę na nowe wdrożenia i promocję usług bibliotecznych, traktujących użytkowników nie tylko jako biernych konsumentów. Bibliotekarze zaś stoją przed wyzwaniem zaproponowania oferty odpowiadającej potrzebom czytelników z pełnym wykorzystaniem potencjału technologicznego i merytorycznego. Kluczową drogą komunikacji z użytkownikiem pozostaje sfera edukacji prowadzonej na wszystkich poziomach zaawansowania.

This article discusses the results of an online survey conducted in 2016 among university students in Cracow. The survey included students of the AGH University of Science and Technology and the Jagiellonian University. Its aim was to verify students’ expectations of academic libraries and also to try and get an idea of trends in the perception of the role and significance of libraries in university teaching. Some changes – for example a decrease in student interest in traditional library services in favour of free space development – have already been observed by the librarian community and have merely been confirmed by the findings of the survey.
W artykule omówiono wyniki ankiety internetowej, przeprowadzonej w 2016 roku, a skierowanej do studentów uczelni krakowskich. Ostatecznie badaniem objęto ankiety studentów dwóch uczelni: Akademii Górniczo-Hutniczej i Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. Założeniem badania było sprawdzenie oczekiwań studenckich wobec bibliotek naukowych i próba uchwycenia tendencji w zakresie roli i znaczenia bibliotek w procesie dydaktycznym w szkole wyższej. Niektóre zmiany, na przykład mniejsze zainteresowanie tradycyjnymi usługami bibliotecznymi na rzecz swobodnego zagospodarowania przestrzeni przez studentów, były już obserwowane przez środowisko bibliotekarskie, chodziło o ich potwierdzenie opiniami bezpośrednio zainteresowanych.

Artykuł omawia zmiany konfiguracyjne w domyślnych ustawieniach wyszukiwarki PRIMO Ve, wykorzystując narzędzia dostępne z poziomu systemu ALMA. Prezentuje rozwiązania wyszukiwawcze dostosowane do użytkowników katalogu Biblioteki Uniwersytetu Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej w Lublinie. Przejrzyste udostępnianie informacji o posiadanych zbiorach tradycyjnych i elektronicznych było głównym założeniem prac związanych z konfiguracją wyszukiwarki PRIMO Ve. Podczas niezbędnych konfiguracji i dostosowań starano się, aby prezentowane funkcje systemu stanowiły spójną informację dla użytkownika we wszystkich agendach systemu biblioteczno informacyjnego UMCS.
The article discusses configuration changes of the default settings of the Primo Ve search engine, using tools available from the Alma system. It presents search solutions tailored for users of the catalog of the Maria Curie Skłodowska University Library in Lublin. transparent access to the information about the traditional and electronic collections held was the main assumption of the work related to the configuration of the Primo Ve search engine. During the necessary configurations and adjustments, efforts were made to ensure that the presented system functions provided the user and all agendas of the UMCS library and information system with consistent information.

W artykule omówiono funkcjonowanie Biblioteki Politechniki Poznańskiej w okresie nadzwyczajnym i niespotykanym w stuletniej historii tej placówki, tj. okresie pandemii Covid-19 i restrykcji z tym związanych. Zaprezentowano sposoby przeorganizowania dotychczasowych zadań, omówiono nowe rozwiązania zastosowane w świadczonych zwykle usługach oraz opisano zupełnie nowe pomysły w tym zakresie. Zwrócono uwagę na wielką mobilność i kreatywność pracowników biblioteki oraz chęć pomocy użytkownikom, którzy z dnia na dzień zostali pozbawieni dostępu do zbiorów, usług i przede wszystkim przestrzeni, z której dotąd tak chętnie korzystali.
This article discusses functioning of the Library of the Poznań University of Technology in the extraordinary period, unprecedented in the hundred years' history of this institution, i.e. the period of the Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions associated with it. It presents ways of reorganizing current tasks, new solutions applied in usually provided services, and brand new ideas in the new situation. The article emphasizes the great mobility and creativity of the library employees and their willingness to assist the users who were suddenly deprived of access to the library resources, services and above all the space which until then they had been using intensively.

Celem artykułu jest prezentacja różnorodnych działań organizowanych przez Książnicę Pedagogiczną im. A. Parczewskiego w Kaliszu podczas pandemii od marca 2020 do września 2021 roku. Tekst zawiera przykłady tradycyjnych i elektronicznych usług bibliotecznych w ramach szerokiej oferty edukacyjno-kulturalnej, skierowanej do różnych grup użytkowników. Autorka opisała między innymi wystawy, konkursy i projekty realizowane przez Książnicę, także we współpracy z bibliotekami szkolnymi, wydziałem UAM/WPA w Kaliszu i Uniwersytetem Trzeciego Wieku. Podkreśliła wielką rolę popularyzowania działań biblioteki, które przenikają ze świata rzeczywistego w wirtualny poprzez media społecznościowe i stronę internetową Książnicy.
The aim of the article is to present the variety of activities organized by A. Parczewski’s Educational Library in Kalisz during the time of COVID-19 from March 2020 to September 2021. The text contains examples of traditional and electronic services of the library within wide educational and cultural range aimed at different groups of users. The author described many actions including exhibitions, competitions and projects realized by the library in cooperation with some school libraries, Adam Mickiewicz University (UAM) / Faculty of Pedagogy and Fine Arts in Kalisz (WPA) and University of the Third Age. The author emphasized the great role of popularising the library’s actions which permeate from real world into virtual world through social media and the library’s website.

Opis:
Efektywność bibliotek, szczególnie akademickich, wymaga zmian organizacyjnych, ułatwiających lub wymuszających współdziałanie. W obrębie uczelni musi funkcjonować zintegrowana sieć bibliotek – z odpowiednim podziałem powinności – i trzeba też łączyć w miarę możliwości małe biblioteki w średnie albo w duże. W ramach sieci powstaje szansa centralizacji w bibliotece głównej – wyspecjalizowanej, efektywniejszej, więc w eksploatacji tańszej – bibliotecznych procesów zaplecza, a także: koordynacji wszystkich ważniejszych przedsięwzięć. Bibliotekom przyporządkowanym łatwiej wobec tego skupić się na realizacji usług, coraz częściej: na użytek całej uczelni – z dostosowaniem ich do zmiennych potrzeb publiczności oraz do zadań wynikających z nowego modelu funkcjonowania uczelni. Konieczna wydaje się też powszechna implementacja programu ponadusługowego w uczelnianych sieciach bibliotecznych.
The efficiency of libraries, academic libraries in particular, necessitates organizational changes facilitating or even imposing co-operation. Any structure of any university has to have an integrated network of libraries, with an appropriate division of work, and one that is consolidated as much as it is possible into medium-size or large libraries. Within thus created network, a chance arises to centralize the main library processes based on appropriate procedures in the main library, highly specialized, more effective and therefore cheaper in operation, including a co-ordination of all more important endeavours and tasks. Hierarchically subordinated libraries can be thus more focused on performing their routine service, more and more frequently providing for the whole of the university, and being able to adjust to changeable requirements and demands of patrons and of new tasks resulting from the new model of the university operation. Another necessary change seems to be a universal implementation of an ov rall programme framework that would include all services in the university’s library networks.

Opis:
W kontekście bieżących zmian i prognoz dla usługi wypożyczeń międzybibliotecznych w artykule została przedstawiona koncepcja oraz ocena wartości zamówień. Jest to jakościowe podejście do usługi wypożyczeń, oceniające zamówienia z użyciem m.in. metryk dostarczanych przez Ministerstwo Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego. Użyte zostały cytowania z baz Web of Science i Scopus oraz analiza za pomocą współczynnika Impact Factor i punktów z Ujednoliconego wykazu czasopism naukowych. Bazą dla analizy są zamówienia międzybiblioteczne złożone przez studentów, doktorantów i pracowników Politechniki Poznańskiej w 2016 roku. Przeprowadzona ocena potwierdza wysoką wartość złożonych zamówień wśród wszystkich grup użytkowników oraz szerokie spektrum sprowadzanych publikacji.
In the context of the current situation and forecasts for the Interlibrary Loan service in Poland, the article presents the evaluation concept of the value of ILL orders. It is a qualitative approach to the ILL service, assessing orders using e. g. guidelines issued by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Citation from Web of Science and Scopus databases were used, as well as an analysis using the Impact Factor and journal values from the Unified List of Scientific Journals (by Ministry of Science and Higher Education). The basis for the analysis are interlibrary orders submitted by students, PhD students and employees of the Poznan University of Technology in 2016. The evaluation confirms the high value of these orders among all user groups and the wide range of publications types our patrons need.

Opis:
The article presents the Library of Vilnius University, one of the oldest and most modern libraries in Europe. Its modernity is reflected in the types of services, the organization of the library space and work. The library’s policy is based on the philosophy associated with the mission of Vilnius University. It implies creating an attractive environment, supporting the search for information, study, research and cultural education. The main task of the Library is, therefore, to support and develop scientific communication. A large emphasis is placed on the services for the university environment, both for students and academic staff. Information technologies are used at a high level, and the use of digital materials now exceeds the use of traditional ones. The thing that draws attention is the organizational structure of the library based on tasks and services offered to users. The library is characterized by the rational use of staff and collections while meeting the needs of users to the maximum. It is focused on self-service: a large part of the collection is easily accessible, there is also a self-service store room of course books. The library houses space for individual and collective work, computer laboratories, seminar and conference rooms. While organizing the library space, the following important issues were taken into account: relaxation and easier interpersonal contacts; and therefore there are a number of zones of a quiet or loud rest. Part of the library is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, the library provides consulting services through subject specialists and departments which deal with scientific information and communication. The library has also developed a system of internal and external communication. The modernity of the library is reflected not so much in the use of the latest technology, but in modern management methods in all aspects of its operation.

This article is a report of a trainig stay in Aberystwyth University Library as part of the Erasmus programme. The purpose of the authors is to present the structure of the Information Services Department. Special attention has been given to the efforts of the Library to provide its users with both traditional and modern information services. This article describes three university libraries which constitute the library information system of the university as well as the services offered by them, such as library services for research and teaching purposes, media services and information technology (IT) services for the purposes of the University and of information management (BIS).

Usługi informacyjne archiwów to pojęcie, które dotąd w archiwistyce nie funkcjonowało. Próbę jego zdefiniowania i określenia zakresu wymuszają zachodzące zmiany społeczne. W dobie formowania się społeczeństwa informacyjnego szczególnej wagi nabiera szybki i efektywny dostęp do informacji. W tekście analizie poddane zostały wprowadzone przez informatologów definicje usług informacyjnych, akty prawne międzynarodowe i polskie, a także piśmiennictwo archiwistyczne.
Archival information services is a concept that has not yet been operationalized in archive studies. An attempt to define it and delineate its scope results from the requirements imposed on archives by the social changes which are currently taking place. In the era of the formation of information society, fast and effective access to information becomes particularly important. The text analyses the definitions of information services, which were introduced by information scientists, international and Polish legal acts, as well as archival literature.

Badaniom wstępnym poddano działalność bibliotek powiatowych Metropolii Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowskiej w zakresie przeciwdziałania wykluczeniu osób z niepełnosprawnościami. Przeanalizowano programy studiów na kierunkach kształcenia bibliotekarzy we wszystkich ośrodkach w Polsce, pod względem treści związanych z obsługą osób z niepełnosprawnościami
The elimination of architectural obstacles and adaptation of the interiors appear as insufficient measures for the people with disabilities in Poland. County libraries are equipped with computers and other materials meant to facilitate their contact with people with disabilities, but those aids are not always utilized to their full potential. The preliminary study looks at the county libraries in the Metropolitan Association of Upper Silesia and Dąbrowa Basin in terms of their inclusivity with regard to people with disabilities. Moreover, the study analyzes Library Studies curricula across the universities in Poland, paying particular attention to the issues connected with serving people with disabilities.

Porównano odwiedziny użytkowników i wielkość udostępnionego księgozbioru w czytelniach bibliotek naukowych oraz wypożyczalniach, z danymi o wykorzystaniu e-zasobów dostępnych w subskrybowanych bazach danych i bazach własnych. Z przedstawionej analizy wynika, że użytkownicy nie opuścili biblioteki, a jedynie zmienili formę korzystania z jej oferty, która wiele lat temu zaczęła przenosić się do wirtualnej rzeczywistości. Zaproponowano także dyskusję nt. stworzenia ujednoliconego wzoru sprawozdania bibliotecznego, zawierającego wszystkie przejawy działalności bibliotek w świecie cyfrowym na rzecz ich użytkowników, poczynając od e-zasobów, poprzez opracowanie zbiorów, a kończąc na zadaniach związanych z prowadzeniem strony internetowej i promocją biblioteki. Czytelny raport działalności biblioteki w świecie cyfrowym pozwoli lepiej zrozumieć prace wykonywane przez jej pracowników.
The article discusses the issue of reporting the usage of e-resources and e-services, which are part of a comprehensive library activity - not always properly exposed in reports and in the recommendations of projects and standards of library statistics. The visits of the users and the size of the shared library in the reading rooms of the scientific libraries and the rental office were compared with the usage of e-resources available in the subscribed databases and own databases. The presented analysis shows that users did not leave libraries, but only changed the form of using their offer, which many years ago began to move to virtual reality. A discussion is also proposed on the creation of a unified template for a library report, containing all library activities in the digital world addressed at its users, starting from e-resources, to the development of collections, to tasks related to running a website and library promotion. A clear library activity report in the digital world will enable abetter understanding of the work performed by its employees.

W artykule zaprezentowano przykłady inicjatyw, działań promocyjnych i niestandardowych usług mających decydujący wpływ na pozytywny wizerunek współczesnych bibliotek. Opisano również biblioteki o zabytkowym charakterze zbiorów, które wpisują się w krajobraz kulturowy miast, współtworzą atmosferę danych miejsc, przyciągając naukowców, pasjonatów, zwiedzających. Liczne przykłady dowodzą, że współczesne biblioteki stworzyły własny styl, a ich otwartość na innowacje techniczne sprawia, iż są postrzegane jako instytucje nowoczesne.
The article presents examples of initiatives, promotional activities and services that are critical to a positive image of modern libraries. The paper also describes old libraries with historical collections, which are part of the cultural landscape of cities, co-create the atmosphere of places, and are attractive for scientists, enthusiasts and visitors. Examples prove that libraries have created their own style, and their openness to technical innovations causes that the institutions are seen as modern.
