In the paper finite-dimensional semilinear dynamical control systems described by fractional-order state equations with the Hilfer fractional derivative are discussed. The formula for a solution of the considered systems is presented and derived using the Laplace transform. Bounded nonlinear function f depending on a state and controls is used. New sufficient conditions for controllability without constraints are formulated and proved using Rothe’s fixed point theorem and the generalized Darbo fixed point theorem. Moreover, the stability property is used to formulate constrained controllability criteria. An illustrative example is presented to give the reader an idea of the theoretical results obtained. A transient process in an electrical circuit described by a system of Hilfer type fractional differential equations is proposed as a possible application of the study.

In this paper, some algebraic fixed point theorems for multi-valued discontinuous operators on ordered spaces are proved. These theorems improve the earlier fixed point theorems of Dhage (1988, 1991) Dhage and Regan (2002) and Heikkilä and Hu (1993) under weaker conditions. The main fixed point theorems are applied to the first order discontinuous differential inclusions for proving the existence of the solutions under certain monotonicity condition of multi-functions.

In this manuscript, we study the existence, uniqueness and various kinds of Ulam stability including Ulam-Hyers stability, generalized Ulam-Hyers stability, Ulam-Hyers-Rassias stability, and generalized Ulam-Hyers-Rassias stability of the solution to an implicit nonlinear fractional differential equations corresponding to an implicit integral boundary condition. We develop conditions for the existence and uniqueness by using the classical fixed point theorems such as Banach contraction principle and Schaefer's fixed point theorem. For stability, we utilize classical functional analysis. The main results are well illustrated with an example.

The steady state solutions of a nonlinear digital cellular neural network with ω neural units and a nonnegative variable parameter λ are sought. We show that λ = 1 is a critical value such that the qualitative behavior of our network changes. More specifically, when ω is odd, then for λ ∈ [0, 1), there is one positive and one negative steady state, and for λ ∈ [1, ∞), steady states cannot exist; while when ω is even, then for λ ∈ [0, 1), there is one positive and one negative steady state, and for λ = 1, there are no nontrivial steady states, and for λ ∈ (1, ∞), there are two fully oscillatory steady states. Furthermore, the number of existing nontrivial solutions cannot be improved. It is hoped that our results are of interest to digital neural network designers.

We show that \(\omega_0 (X) = \lim_{T\to\infty} \lim_{\varepsilon\to 0} \omega^T (X, \varepsilon)\) is a measure of noncompactness defined on some subsets of the space \(C(\mathbb{R}^+) = \{x\colon \mathbb{R}^+ \to \mathbb{R},\ x\ \text{continuous}\}\) furnished with the distance defined by the family of seminorms \(|x|_n\). Moreover, using a technique associated with the measures of noncompactness, we prove the existence of solutions of a quadratic Urysohn integral equation on an unbounded interval. This measure allows to obtain theorems on the existence of solutions of a integral equations on an unbounded interval under a weaker assumptions then the assumptions of theorems obtained by applying two-component measures of noncompactness.

This paper is concerned with positive solutions of the semilinear polyharmonic equation $(-\Delta)^m u = a(x)u^\alpha$ on $\mathbb{R}^n$, where m and n are positive integers with n > 2m, $\alpha \in (—1,1)$. The coefncient a is assumed to satisfy $a(x) \approx (1+|x|)^{-\lambda}L(1+|x|)$ for $ x \in \mathbb{R}^n$, where $ \lambda \in [2m,\infty)$ and $L \in C^1([q,\infty))$ is positive with $ {tL^\prime (t)}/{L(t)} \rightarrow 0 $ as $ t \rightarrow \infty $ if $ \lambda = 2m$, one also assumes that $\int_1^\infty t^{-1} L(t) dt < \infty $. We prove the existence of a positive solution $u$ such that $ u(x) \approx (1 + |x|)^{-\tilde{\lambda}} L(1+|x|)$ for $ x \in \mathbb{R}^n$, with $\tilde{\lambda} := \text{min}(n-2m, {\lambda-2m}/{1-\alpha})$ and a function $ \tilde{L} $, given explicitly in terms of $L$ and satisfying the same condition as infinity. (Given positive functions $f$ and $g$ on $\mathbb{R}^n$, $f \approx g $ means that $c^{-1} g \leq f \leq cg $ for some constant c > 1.)

This work concerns the study of the controllability of some partial functional integrodifferential equation with nonlocal initial conditions in Banach spaces. It gives sufficient conditions that ensure the controllability of the system by supposing that its linear homogeneous part admits a resolvent operator in the sense of Grimmer, and by making use of the measure of noncompactness and the Mönch fixed-point theorem. As a result, we obtain a generalization of the work of Y.K. Chang, J.J. Nieto and W.S. Li (J. Optim. Theory Appl. 142, 267-273 (2009)), without assuming the compactness of the resolvent operator. An example of application is given for illustration.

The aim of this paper is to study the existence of solutions to a boundary value problem associated to a nonlinear fractional differential equation where the nonlinear term depends on a fractional derivative of lower order posed on the half-line. An appropriate compactness criterion and suitable Banach spaces are used and so a fixed point theorem is applied to obtain fixed points which are solutions of our problem.

We consider the mixed problem for the quasilinear partial functional differential equation with unbounded delay $D_tz(t,x) = ∑_{i=1}^n f_i(t,x,z_{(t,x)})D_{x_i}z(t,x) + h(t,x,z_{(t,x)})$, where $z_{(t,x)} ∈ X̶_0$ is defined by $z_{(t,x)}(τ,s) = z(t+τ,x+s)$, $(τ,s) ∈ (-∞,0]×[0,r]$, and the phase space $X̶_0$ satisfies suitable axioms. Using the method of bicharacteristics and the fixed-point method we prove a theorem on the local existence and uniqueness of Carathéodory solutions of the mixed problem.

We investigate the existence of positive periodic solutions of a nonlinear Lotka-Volterra competition system with deviating arguments. The main tool we use to obtain our result is the Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem. In particular, this paper improves important and interesting work [X.H. Tang, X. Zhou, On positive periodic solution of Lotka-Volterra competition systems with deviating arguments, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 134 (2006), 2967-2974]. Moreover, as an application, we also exhibit some special cases of the system, which have been studied extensively in the literature.

In this paper, we discuss a four-point boundary value problem for a nonlinear differential equation of fractional order. The differential operator is the Riemann-Liouville derivative and the inhomogeneous term depends on the fractional derivative of lower order. We obtain the existence of at least one solution for the problem by using the Schauder fixed-point theorem. Our analysis relies on the reduction of the problem considered to the equivalent Fredholm integral equation.

Opis:
n this paper, consensus of a leader-following problem is investigated. The leader-following problem describes a dynamics of the leader and a number of agents. The trajectory of the leader is given. The dynamics of each agent depends on the leader trajectory and others agents' inputs. Here, the leader-following problem is modelled by a system of nonlinear equations with Caputo fractional derivative, which can be rewritten as a system of Volterra equations. The main tools in the investigation are the properties of the resolvent kernel corresponding to the Volterra equations, and Schauder fixed point theorem. By study of the existence of an asymptotically stable solution of a suitable Volterra system, the sufficient conditions for consensus of the leader-following problem are obtained.

Let D be a bounded $C^(1,1)$ -domain in $R^d$, d ≥ 2. The aim of this article is twofold. The first goal is to give a new characterization of the Kato class of functions $K(D)$ that was defined by $N$. Zeddini for $d = 2$ and by $H$. Mâagli and M. Zribi for $d ≥ 3$ and adapted to study some nonlinear elliptic problems in $D$. The second goal is to prove the existence of positive continuous weak solutions, having the global behavior of the associated homogeneous problem, for sufficiently small values of the nonnegative constants $λ$ and $μ$ to the following system $Δu = λf(x, u, v)$, $Δv = μg(x, u, v)$ in D, $u = ϕ_1$ and $v = ϕ_2$ on $∂D$, where $ϕ_1$ and $ϕ_2$ are nontrivial nonnegative continuous functions on $∂D$. This article concerns with the existence of solutions of thea quadratic integral equation of Fredholm type with a modified argument, \[ x(t) = p(t) + (Fx) (t) \int_{0}^{1} k(t,\tau)x(q(\tau))d\tau \] ,where p, k are functions and F is an operator satisfying the given conditions. Using the properties of the Hölder spaces and the classical Schauder fixed point theorem, we obtain the existence of solutions of the equationunder certain assumptions. The existence of bounded solutions, asymptotically stable solutions, and L1 solutions of a Caputo fractional differential equation has been studied in this paper. The results are obtained from an equivalent Volterra integral equation which is derived by inverting the fractional differential equation. The kernel function of this integral equation is weakly singular and hence the standard techniques that are normally applied on Volterra integral equations do not apply here. This hurdle is overcomed using a resolvent equation and then applying some known properties of the resolvent. In the analysis Schauder's fixed point theorem and Liapunov's method have been employed. The existence of bounded solutions are obtained employing Schauder's theorem, and then it is shown that these solutions are asymptotically stable by a definition found in [C. Avramescu, C. Vladimirescu, On the existence of asymptotically stable solution of certain integral equations, Nonlinear Anal. 66 (2007), 472-483]. Finally, the L1 properties of solutions are obtained using Liapunov's method

In this article we present the existence and uniqueness results for fractional integro-differential equations with ψ-Hilfer fractional derivative. The reasoning is mainly based upon different types of classical fixed point theory such as the Mönch fixed point theorem and the Banach fixed point theorem. Furthermore, we discuss $E_{α}$-Ulam-Hyers stability of the presented problem. Also, we use the generalized Gronwall inequality with singularity to establish continuous dependence and uniqueness of the δ-approximate solution.

In this paper, we establish the existence and uniqueness criteria of time periodic solution to the viscous modified Degasperis-Procesi (vmDP for short) equation with periodic boundary value conditions. The analysis of this study is based on Galerkin’s method and Leray-Schauder fixed point theorem. Using Galerkin’s method some uniform priori estimates of approximate solution to the corresponding equation of vmDP has been constructed. Furthermore, the efficient and straightforward existence and uniqueness criteria of time periodic solution to the vmDP with periodic boundary value conditions has been obtained.

In this paper we prove the exact controllability of a time varying semilinear system considering non-instantaneous impulses, delay, and nonlocal conditions occurring simultaneously. It is done by using the Rothe’s fixed point theorem together with some sub-linear conditions on the nonlinear term, the impulsive functions, and the function describing the nonlocal conditions. Furthermore, a control steering the semilinear system from an initial state to a final state is exhibited.

This paper refers to application of the Schauder's fixed point theorem together with linear controllability results in getting the sufficient controllability conditions for various kinds of controllability and for different types of nonlinear control systems. The following nonlinear control systems are considered : finite-dimensional systems, systems with delays in control or in the state variables, and infinite-dimensional systems. The paper presents the review of results existing in the literature which show how Schauder's fixed-point theorem can be practically used to solve several controllability problems for different types of nonlinear control systems.

In this paper, we discuss a class of integrodifferential equations with nonlocal conditions via a fractional derivative of the type: [formula]. Some sufficient conditions for the existence of mild solutions for the above system are given. The main tools are the resolvent operators and fixed point theorems due to Banach's fixed point theorem, Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem and Schaefer's fixed point theorem. At last, an example is given for demonstration.

The present paper deals with ТЕМ propagation of waves along lossless transmission lines terminated by a crystal oscillator circuit. The crystal oscillator circuit generates nonlinear boundary conditions derived by the Kirchhoff’s law. Then the mixed problem for the hyperbolic transmission line system to an initial value problem for neutral system on the boundary is reduced. The main purpose of the present paper is to show an existence-uniqueness of a periodic solution of the neutral system. This is achieved by introducing a suitable operator acting on a space of periodic functions. Its fixed point is a periodic solution of the neutral system. The advantages of the presented method on numerical example are demonstrated. The solution can be obtained by successive approximations.

In this paper, a class of fractional integrodifferential equations of mixed type with time-varying generating operators and nonlocal conditions is considered. Using a contraction mapping principle and Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem via Gronwall's inequailty, the existence and uniqueness of mild solution are given. The existence of optimal pairs of systems governed by fractional integrodifferential equations of mixed type with time-varying generating operators and nonlocal conditions is also presented.

In this paper, we give some new results for multiplicity of positive (nonnegative) solutions for third-order differential equations with derivative dependence, deviating arguments and Stieltjes integral boundary conditions. We discuss our problem with advanced argument α and arbitrary β ∈ C([0,1],[0,1]), see problem (2). It means that argument β can change the character on [0,1], so β can be delayed in some set J¯⊂ [0,1] and advanced in [0,1] \ J¯. Four examples illustrate the main results.

This paper is concerned with the problem of controllability of semi-linear stochastic systems with time varying multiple delays in control in finite dimensional spaces. Sufficient conditions are established for the relative controllability of semilinear stochastic systems by using the Banach fixed point theorem. A numerical example is given to illustrate the application of the theoretical results. Some important comments are also presented on existing results for the stochastic controllability of fractional dynamical systems.

In 1959, Nikaidô established a remarkable coincidence theorem in a compact Hausdorff topological space, to generalize and to give a unified treatment to the results of Gale regarding the existence of economic equilibrium and the theorems in game problems. The main purpose of the present paper is to deduce several generalized key results based on this very powerful result, together with some KKM property. Indeed, we shall simplify and reformulate a few coincidence theorems on acyclic multifunctions, as well as some Górniewicz-type fixed point theorems. Beyond the realm of monotonicity nor metrizability, the results derived here generalize and unify various earlier ones from the classic optimization theory. In the sequel, we shall deduce two versions of Nikaidô's coincidence theorem about Vietoris maps from different approaches.

The main objective of this article is to present the state of the art concerning approximate controllability of dynamic systems in infinite-dimensional spaces. The presented investigation focuses on obtaining sufficient conditions for approximate controllability of various types of dynamic systems using Schauder’s fixed-point theorem. We describe the results of approximate controllability for nonlinear impulsive neutral fuzzy stochastic differential equations with nonlocal conditions, impulsive neutral functional evolution integro-differential systems, stochastic impulsive systems with control-dependent coefficients, nonlinear impulsive differential systems, and evolution systems with nonlocal conditions and semilinear evolution equation.

Opis:
In this paper we study the existence of solutions of a nonlinear quadratic integral equation of fractional order. This equation is considered in the Banach space of real functions defined, continuous and bounded on the real half axis. Additionally, using the technique of measures of noncompactness we obtain some characterization of considered integral equation. We provide also an example illustrating the applicability of our approach.

The differential equation of the form $(q(t)k(u)(u')^a)' = f(t)h(u)u'$, a ∈ (0,∞), is considered and solutions u with u(0) = 0 and (u(t))² + (u'(t))² > 0 on (0,∞) are studied. Theorems about existence, uniqueness, boundedness and dependence of solutions on a parameter are given.

Opis:
In this paper, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a positive solution for a boundary value problem of nonlinear fractional differential equations involving a Caputo fractional operator with integral boundary conditions. The technique used to prove our results depends on the upper and lower solution, the Schauder fixed point theorem and the Banach contraction principle. The result of existence obtained through constructing the upper and lower control functions of the nonlinear term without any monotone requirement.

Artykuł zawiera kluczowe aspekty historii rozwoju metod jakościowych nieliniowej analizy funkcjonalnej (twierdzenia o punkcie stałym, teoria stopnia odwzorowania, teoria przestrzeni Orlicza), w~ramach których najbardziej uwidoczniły się wzajemne oddziaływania polsko-radzieckie. Do połowy XX wieku w dziedzinach tych  dokonał się  postęp za sprawą  przedstawicieli lwowskiej szkoły matematycznej, warszawskiej szkoły matematycznej, moskiewskiej szkoły matematycznej  i odeskiej szkoły matematycznej. Analiza ich rezultatów stanowi główną część niniejszej pracy. Szczególną uwagę zwracamy na badania matematyka radzieckiego M. A. Krasnosel'skiego, który korzystał z wyników J. Schaudera i K. Borsuka oraz z przestrzeni Orlicza przy rozwiązywaniu szerokiej klasy problemów z jakościowej teorii nieliniowych równań całkowych.
The paper includes key aspects of the history of development of qualitative methods of non-linear functional analysis (fixed point theorems, theory of mapping degree, theory of Orlicz spaces), within the framework of which Polish-Soviet interaction was most clearly manifested. In the period up to the mid-twentieth century these areas were advanced by the representatives of Lvov Mathematical School, Warsaw Mathematical School, Moscow Mathematical School and Odessa Mathematical School. Examination of their results is a significant part of this work. Much attention is paid to the investigations of the Soviet mathematician M.A. Krasnosel'skii, who used the achievements of J. Schauder and K. Borsuk as well as Orlicz spaces for solving a wide class of problems in qualitative theory of nonlinear integral equations.

In this paper we use fixed point methods to prove asymptotic stability results of the zero solution of a class of totally nonlinear neutral differential equations with functional delay. The study concerns $x^\prime (t)= -a(t)x^3(t) + c(t)x^\prime (t-r(t)) + b(t) x^3 (t-r(t)) $. The equation has proved very challenging in the theory of Liapunov’s direct method. The stability results are obtained by means of Krasnoselskii-Burton’s theorem and they improve on the work of T.A. Burton (see Theorem 4 in [Liapunov functionals, fixed points, and stability by Krasnoselskii’s theorem, Nonlinear Studies 9 (2001), 181–190]) in which he takes c=0 in the above equation

This note presents a theorem which gives an answer to a conjecture which appears in the book Matrix Norms and Their Applications by Belitskiĭ and Lyubich and concerns the global asymptotic stability in the Schauder fixed point theorem. This is followed by a theorem which states a necessary and sufficient condition for the iterates of a holomorphic function with a fixed point to converge pointwise to this point.
