From the perspective of empirical research, this paper conducts a specificstudy on the core competencies of college counselors. 450 participants from 4universities participated the research. A questionnaire of college counselors’ corecompetencies from the aspects of the design of open questionnaire was designedand implemented, a predictive questionnaire was tested and analyzed, and aformal questionnaire was implemented. The results of the formal questionnaireshow that component one mainly concerns ideological awareness and values,component two mainly concerns professional ethics, moral accomplishment,quality, character and attitude, while component three refers to various abilities atwork, and component four involves professional and cultural knowledge. Throughanalysis and discussion, it is concluded that the key elements of college counselors’core competencies include values, moral quality, vocational ability and culturalknowledge, and a structural model of their core competencies is constructed.

The diocesan Bishop, taking care of part of the Church entrusted to him, is supported by subsidiary bodies, which may be single or collective. To a single organ, equipped with ordinary vicarious power are: general vicars, curates bishops, judicial vicar. A collegial body composed of many people as a college work for the good of the Church. The purpose of this paper is to present the collegial structures in the diocese, where there is an obligation on the bishop by the legislature dipped. Therefore discussed are: the Council of Priests, the College of Consultors and the Council on financial matters. All of the colleges in the diocese are an important link between the diocesan bishop of the whole presbytery and the laity, for the joint development of the Church of Christ.

The article refers to the development of theological reflection on the apostolic succession in the First Century Church. It starts with the New Testament teaching on the successors of the apostles, then the teaching of Saint Clement of Rome, Saint Ignatius of Antioch, Saint Irenaeus and Tertullian is presented. Finally, the teaching of the Apostolic Tradition attributed to Saint Hippolytus of Rome is shown. It might be said, therefore, that the beginning of the teaching on the apostolic succession refers to the apostolicity of the local Churches among which the most important were those founded by the Apostles themselves, and the Church of Rome. They were the source of the apostolic faith for another local churches. The ceaseless succession of bishops dated back to the Apostles was the important factor in retaining the apostolic faith in the local Churches.What confirmed the Church in being in the apostolic teaching was the communion with other Churches, retained due to the communion of their bishops who form a college similar to the College of Apostles.

The issue of the process of integration and absorption of Arab Bedouin female students in teacher training institutions in Israel constitutes a significant yet critical chapter in the course of forming the personal and professional identity of the prospective teacher. The main purpose of this article is to describe the difficulties experienced by Arab Bedouin female students during the process of their social and educational integration and absorption in teacher training institutions. Also, to deal with the differences between Arab and Jewish teacher training institutions. Furthermore, to what extent the cultural encounter is perceived by the students that would enable them to have social and educational integration.The study involved 200 Bedouin Arab female students living in the Negev and learning in four teacher-training colleges in Israel; Kaye College of Education, Achva College, Sakhnin College for teacher training and Al-Qasmi College. The students answered a questionnaire that was written for this study. The findings of the study indicated many difficulties in the process of absorbing and integrating Arab Bedouin students in various teacher-training institutions in the country. Not to mention, language difficulties experienced by them with regard to reading articles and writing papers, not in their native tongue. The multicultural encounter between the different genders also poses a great difficulty in addition to the age difference between Arab and Jewish students. Furthermore, the policy of the Israeli academic institutions does not fully represent the Arab culture and in the interaction between the academic and administrative staff and the Arab Bedouin students.

The purpose of this study was to design and validate a tool to collect the student-athletes' perception of their satisfaction. The instrument collects information regarding student-athlete characteristics, self-perception, perception of training, perception of team/teammates, perception of the program organization, and perception of the support received. The design and validation, of the questionnaire were done in two phases: a) design and development of the instrument, and b) content validation by experts. The results show that the tool is suitable for obtaining information about student-athletes' perception of their satisfaction. The implementation of the tool involves two phases: a) student-athletes completion of a survey and b) student-athletes and moderator carry out a group discussion regarding the causes behind their answers, things to maintain, and things that could change or improve. The tool developed and validated could contribute to increase the information of student-athletes about their experience and generate communication channels.

The aim of this study was to explain the relation between social and academic support of students’ adaptation to college. The results of this study show that there were a weak and a reverse correlation between the discharge support and personal adaptability and total adaptation. There was a direct correlation between emotional support and social adaptation and dependence adaptation, a direct correlation between socializing with social adaptation and total adaptation, a direct correlation between practical support with social and dependence adaptation and among a variety of kinds of academic support, the discharge support can predict students’ adaptation to university, as well as among a variety of kinds of social support, socialization can predict students’ adaptation to college.

The objective of this study was to examine which educational experiences in general education impact on the student’s learning outcomes. The survey included 1,201 students in South Korea. Hierarchical multiple regressions were used. The result showed that educational experiences in general education demonstrated greater predictive power for the student’s learning outcomes than individual and institutional characteristics. However, not all educational experiences positively predicted learning outcomes. Educators are advised to improve general education towards better educational experiences in a way that encourages teaching higherorder thinking, evaluation and feedback, and active class participation.

It can be deduced that the sum total of an adviser’s personality which includes his social, moral-spiritual and economic functioning and efficacy is highly dependent upon his moral principle. In terms, therefore, of adviser’s performance in whatever field of achieving the goal, his moral principle is a potent factor that is to be reckoned with in order to explain his work attitudes and habits and the qualitative and quantitative aspects of his work performance. This study is focused on the identification of the moral principle and teaching performance of college advisers/professors, as well as the relationship of their moral principle to teaching performance. It is a correlational study that determines the significant relationship between the moral principle and the teaching performance of the engineering college advisers.

In social sciences, especially in economy, to reveal relations between variables it’s easy to apply many known statistical tools when we deal with observable (measureable) variables. The problems appear when dealing with latent variables – that are not directly observed and they are of subjective matter. It’s also an important issue to measure relations between latent variables. The example of latent variables are preferences. The preferences play a very important role in economy. Very often real market decisions, choices (or answers in a questionnaire) are described by non-metric variables (nominal and ordinal). These variables are also called qualitative. The latent class analysis allows to reveal hidden relations between observable variables. The observable variables allow, with a specified probability, to find a non-observable phenomenon. The latent class analysis allows to analyze the qualitative data [see: McCutcheon 1987, p. 7; 11; Hagenaars 1993, p. 21–23]. LCA was introduced by Lazarsfeld in 1950 [1968]. The paper presents evaluation of college students with application of latent class analysis. To obtain such a goal data collected (winter recruitment of 2008/2009) by a college in Walbrzych was used.

Following the German occupation of the French capital city, an idea sprang up in the Polish intellectual circles to intensify propagation of Polish culture and knowledge of Poland among young Polish and French people. This concept was to be implemented in the Polish Library in Paris by a series of lectures organized by the Department of Science of the Polish YMCA1 in France in late 1944. The success of the lectures encouraged the Polish Library to launch the Polish College with the goal of making available to primarily Polish youth, studying and working in Paris, the achievements of Polish science and culture and to prepare the young people for work in Poland. The curriculum was developed and, as expected, the College’s operations were financed by the YMCA. Wacław Grzybowski, Ph.D., a former ambassador of Poland to the USSR, was appointed director of the College. The lecturers included illustrious intellectuals: priest Augustyn Jakubisiak, Ph.D., Franciszek Pułaski, Zygmunt Dygat, Irena Gałęzowska, Wieńczysław d’Ercville and many other. The College enjoyed considerable popularity among the students. The changing political situation in Poland put a stop to the promising operations of the College. To some extent, it was continued in the Catholic University of Paris ( the Institut Catholique de Paris). Since 1945, the University hosted the Centre for Slavic Studies where the Polish Section (Section Polonaise) was established. It is worth emphasising that an ambitious attempt at establishing studies for young Poles abroad was made in Madrid, on the initiative of the Polish ambassador, count Józef Potocki, representing in Spain the Polish government in London.

Artykuł przedstawia analizę aplikacji prawa kenijskiego odnośnie do ustanowienia uniwersytetu w połączeniu z rozwiązaniami kanonicznymi. Wymienione są poszczególne wyzwania obecne w obu systemach prawnych.
The paper presents Catholic education as an integral component of Church’s evangelization mission which must be pursued in a manner that presupposes Catholic identity. So the author discusses Catholic identity in the context of Tangaza University College as it transits to becoming a fully fledged Catholic university. Several key issues are featured which include the basic understanding of the terms Catholic and Catholicity and situating Catholic identity in ecclesiastical context. There is also a presentation of Tangaza University College in her history and identity. This article also investigates the application of civil legislations in the Republic of Kenya in establishing a university as well as the application of ecclesiastical laws in a Catholic university. The discussion also features the challenges involved in pursuing Catholic identity in a Catholic university

It has been long pointed that Indonesian education system embraces active learning to enhance critical thinking. However, active learning techniques are not yet optimally introduced in Indonesian education settings. Studies have shown case studies combined with the concept map method improving students’ critical thinking. However, there is a lack of evidence related to this method in the Indonesian education system. The presented study examined the effect of a case study combined with the concept map on improving critical thinking skills in Indonesian first-year college students. Three groups attended classes with the same class objectives and contents, consisting of eight weekly meetings. The only difference among the groups was the educational strategy; case study combined with concept map (CSCM), case study alone (CS), and traditional lecture style with no specific active learning techniques (Control). Results indicated that the CSCM method is most effective in improving critical thinking skills. Although CSCM was also most effective on improving critical thinking disposition, differences among groups were not statistically significant.

This study used a self-designed questionnaire to empirically evaluate Chinese and American undergraduate students’ recognition of moral values in six dimensions: honesty, civility & self-discipline, benevolence, unity & helping others, esteem, and filial piety. In total, 743 valid samples from 8 Chinese universities and 157 valid samples from 4 American universities were collected for an experimental comparison. Measurement results showed that the differences between Chinese and American college students were not significant in the dimensions of honesty, benevolence, esteem, and filial piety. These values, which originated in traditional Chinese culture, had the same priorities in both groups, confirming a certain degree of universality. However, significant intergroup differences existed in the civility and self-discipline dimension and the unity and helping others dimension. These results highlight the importance of enhancing Chinese college students’ moral consciousness, especially with esteem, and of enhancing American students’ consciousness of unity and helping others.

The effectiveness of the content of physical education of students of medical college has been studied for one academic year through their involvement into systematic physical activity. One of the results of resolving this problem was students’ improvement in morphofunctional indexes. The developed organizational and methodological principles were the basis of the proposed content through the involvement of students of medical college for physical activity during physical education classes. Each position included a set of rules that were performed in a certain sequence during the formation of the content of physical education and its implementation in classes. Proposed development has provided 21 girls and 19 boys significantly better results in solving problems within a year than 58 girls and 35 boys who used the content of physical education that was formed and implemented without specified experimental factor.Key words: motivation, physical activity, physical education, students of medical college.

In order to understand value recognition deeply, the research was taken to 1128 Xingjiang minority college students in inner-mainland 36 universities of China by the questionnaire with five dimensions which political value, moral value, cultural psychology, language stress and environmental stress. The result showed that there was an order tendency in their values, in order, cultural psychology, moral values, political values, language stress and environmental stress. At the same time, there are gander differences. Male and female college students do not exist significant differences in cultural psychology and moral value dimensions. But the differences being in the political values, language stress and environmental stress. Xinjiang minority college students are fundamentally the same as Han nationality students in political values and moral values, but obvious differences in cultural psychology, language stress and environmental stress.

The purpose of this paper was to (1) examine moral judgment competency of a sample of 811 Chinese college students from a Southern university in mainland China with DIT-2; and (2) test whether gender, education, major, academic performance, and one-child policy have significant effect on the participants’ moral judgment competency. Results show that the participants score high in both Personal Interest schema and Postconventional schema, while low in Maintaining Norms schema. Gender and major have significant effect on participants’ moral judgment competency in China, while education level, academic performance and one-child family have no significant effect on their moral judgment competency. Reasons are discussed in the paper.

The aim of our work is to find out level of somatic development and motor performance of students of the 1.st year - class of FCHPT STU in Bratislava in five years period in years 2011 – 2015 (1881 women and 797 men). We used standardized test battery to recognize motor performance. Comparison of the motion efficiency testing results we used the test of statistical significance of differences in mean values of the significance level p - value<0,05, in program Statgraphic (One Way – ANOVA). Based on the results of measuring the level of somatic development , we found out that the body height has stagnating tendency for both men and women categories. Body weight had a stable level in men until 2014 , but its value is about 5 kg higher than the population average . The women had body weight except in 2014 rising trend. Both in men and women category in 2015 significantly increased body weight . Observing body mass in dex ( BMI ) we found out a significant increase in values only for women. The relative value of the body fat in both men and women category at approximately the same level without significant difference index BMI more than men but the value of body fat on th e other hand they were worse . In the test results of motor performance , we found out significantly lower levels of aerobic endurance compared to the first measurement in 2011 , both men and women. In the case of speed - power capabilities of the arms and tors o as well as for the dynamic force abdominal and hip muscles we can ́t confirm increasing or decreasing tendency. From our research it is clear that aerobic endurance is the ability which has decreasing trend from year to year for both men and women category.

Most of the current research has found that highly religious people have better well-being compared to people with low religiousness. However, the former group is not immune from occasionally feeling anger toward God, which has an adverse effect on well-being. The purpose of this research is to study whether anger toward God moderates the effect of religiousness on the well-being of Christian college students. The data were derived from 228 respondents (55 male) from a religious university using the Four Basic Dimensions of Religiousness (4-BDRS), the Attitude toward God Scale (ATGS-9), and the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). The results of the moderation analysis using Process version 3 demonstrated that Anger toward God significantly moderated the effect of religiousness toward well-being (b = .01, 95% Cl [.001, .023], t = 2.14, p < .05). The higher the level of anger toward God, the lesser the effect of religiousness on well-being. Therefore, it is essential for students to resolve their divine struggles. The implications and applications of this study are discussed.

In the context of the contemporary world changes, the issue of social responsibility including the social responsibility of higher education institution deserves special attention. The category of responsibility in the social context underlines the importance of interest in social life subjects resulting from the process of maturation of the awareness of the society needs. In the public spirit issues found in the functioning of higher education institution, a special attention is drawn to the activity of academic circles based on a set of values, norms of behaviour and the practice to aspire to the truth, as the constitutive values for science, researchers and scientists is above all the truth, the search for it, its description and its discovery. In this context an important task for the higher education institutions becomes the maintenance of good relation with the socio-economic environment, as well as creating permanent and proper relationship with both internal and external subjects. The perception of higher education institutions as underlined by A. Sulejewicz in three dimensions: market, stratification and cognitive-educational ones contributes to the multiplication of common social welfare, and reinforces mature democracy and creates a civic society. Nonetheless, the scope of responsibility lies on both the society and the institution itself.
W kontekście przemian współczesnego świata na szczególną uwagę zasługuje problematyka społecznej odpowiedzialności, w tym społecznej odpowiedzialności uczelni wyższych. Kategoria odpowiedzialności w kontekście społecznym podkreśla wagę zainteresowania podmiotami życia społecznego, wynikającego z procesu dojrzewania świadomości potrzeb społeczeństwa. W problematyce prospołeczności w funkcjonowaniu uczelni wyższej na uwagę zasługuje działanie środowiska akademickiego w oparciu o zestaw wartości, norm zachowania i praktyki dążenia do prawdy, bowiem konstytutywne wartości dla nauki, badaczy i uczonych to przede wszystkim prawda, jej poszukiwanie, opisywanie, odkrywanie. W tym kontekście ważnym zadaniem instytucji szkolnictwa wyższego staje się również utrzymywanie dobrych relacji z otoczeniem społeczno-gospodarczym, jak i budowanie trwałych i odpowiedzialnych relacji z interesariuszami wewnętrznymi i zewnętrznymi. Postrzeganie uczelni wyższych, jak podkreśla A. Sulejewicz, w trzech wymiarach: rynkowym, stratyfikacyjnym oraz kognitywno-edukacyjnym, przyczynia się do pomnażania wspólnego dobra społecznego, umacniania dojrzałej demokracji i budowania społeczeństwa obywatelskiego. Jednakże zakres odpowiedzialności powstaje po obu stronach, zarówno społeczeństwa jak i uczelni.

The starting point of the article is a thesis that intensively created institutional backing for students with disabilities leads to the disclosure of different barriers placed in the awareness of lecturers and fully fit students. Its essence is the feeling of social debt towards people with disabilities effectively impeding the shaping of authentic environment favouring self-creation of these people and taking responsibility for one’s own biography having left university. The aim of the article is to show the students environment in the aspect of the disabled expectations and viewing the environment in the perspective of the integration and the disproportion levels. They become the tools for description and interpretation of the declared, in the focused discussion, diagnosis of one’s situation and expectations towards the academic environment. Undoubtedly, two last decades have changed a lot in the area in focus. One may not overvalue the introduced system solutions directed to the levelling of opportunities for people with disabilities in the context of creating convenient conditions for studying. However, one may not forget that the paradigm of equal opportunities in the system approach is merely a starting point in activating students with disabilities and joining them authentically to the academic community
Punktem wyjścia opracowania jest teza, że intensywnie kreowane wsparcie instytucjonalne studentów z niepełnosprawnością prowadzi do ujawniania się innych barier ulokowanych w świadomości wykładowców i studentów pełnosprawnych. Ich istotą jest poczucie społecznego długo wobec osób z niepełnosprawnością skutecznie utrudniające kształtowanie autentycznego środowiska sprzyjającego autokreacji tych osób i brania odpowiedzialności za swoją biografię po opuszczeniu murów szkoły wyższej. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie środowiska studenckiego w aspekcie oczekiwań osób z niepełnosprawnością i rozpatrzenie go w perspektywie płaszczyzn integracji i niewspółmierności. Stanowią one narzędzie deskrypcji oraz interpretacji zadeklarowanych w dyskusji fokusowej diagnoz swojej sytuacji i oczekiwań wobec środowiska akademickiego. Bez wątpienia ostanie dwie dekady zmieniły w omawianym obszarze wiele. Nie sposób przecenić wprowadzonych, systemowych rozwiązań ukierunkowanych na wyrównywanie szans osób z niepełnosprawnością w zakresie tworzenia dogodnych warunków studiowania. Warto jednak pamiętać, że paradygmat równych szans w ujęciu systemowym stanowi jedynie punkt wyjścia w aktywizowaniu studentów z niepełnosprawnością i autentycznym włączaniu ich w wspólnotę akademicką.

This study evaluated the factors influencing loyalty to an online clothing shop among college students. A survey was first conducted, and responses were compared. The main factors were identified and screened, and a sample of college students was selected. Likert-scale questionnaires were distributed, and the scores were calculated. The total score associated with the attitude of each respondent was ultimately determined. The strength of the respondents’attitude towards each topic was extracted and calculated, and the results were measured to determine the factors affecting loyalty to online clothing shops among college students. The top three influencing factors identified were as follows: the prices of the items sold by clothing stores, the fashion popularity of clothing, and clothing comfort. Compared with the female respondents, the male ones paid more attention to the matchability of clothing in stores and the fashion popularity of the goods sold. Compared with the males, the females paid more attention to clothing comfort, quality, the merchant’s logistics speed and customer service attitude.

Introduction and objective. Low levels of physical activity (PA) and sedentary lifestyle have become a major public health problem in developed countries, even among the young population. The aim of the study was to determine and compare physical activity levels, health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain symptoms (MPS) among the students of Physiotherapy and Social Sciences. Materials and method. A cross-sectional survey was performed on 517 participants and included the International Physical Activity Questionnaire – Short Form, SF-36 Health Survey, and the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire. Results. The majority of students (61.7%) met the criteria for the category “high” PA, and 11% respondents were in the “low” category. Male students accumulated higher levels of vigorous- and moderate-intensity PA, and scored higher in the domains of general health, vitality, and social functioning, while females scored higher in mental health (p<0.05). The physical component summary score was higher for Physiotherapy students, while Social Sciences students scored higher in the mental component summary score (p<0.05). The prevalence of MPS in the last year was 80.9%, more among female and Physiotherapy students (p<0.05). A weak association was found between MPS and lower levels of total PA, moderate- intensity PA and several domains of HRQoL (p<0.05). Conclusions. Students of both disciplines reported high levels of PA, but also a high prevalence of MPS which could have affected their HRQoL which was lower than in the general population. Gender differences were found in both PA levels and HRQoL, which suggests the need for the development of gender-specific preventive programmes.

Collegium Maius w Krakowie jest wybitnym zabytkiem późnogotyckiej architektury i dobrze zachowanym, najstarszym obiektem uniwersyteckim w Polsce. Artykuł poświęcony jest jego średniowiecznym podziemiom udostępnionym po ostatniej adaptacji. Niezwykły jest charakter tych wnętrz z odsłoniętymi wątkami murów i sklepień kamiennych oraz ceglanych. Odwiedzający podziwiają autentyzm miejsca, interesują się widocznymi śladami przeobrażeń, lecz mają problem z interpretacją źródeł. Autorka podjęła próbę uczytelnienia historii podziemi, przełożenia ich dziejów rozpoznanych przez badaczy (historyków sztuki, archeologów prowadzących wieloletnie prace w obiekcie) na język obrazów, czyli przedstawienia wizji dawnego wyglądu i funkcji. Wizje rekonstrukcyjne opierają się na autentycznych śladach materialnych, czyli stanie murów, przekryć, otworów, który skonfrontowano ze źródłami pisanymi. Rezultatem pracy jest komplet widoków kilku najstarszych podziemnych wnętrz, porównujących stan obecny ze stanem sprzed wieków, oraz zwięzły opis interpretacyjny.
The Collegium Maius in Cracow is an outstanding and well-preserved monument of late-Gothic architecture and is the oldest university building in Poland. This paper focuses on its medieval cellars, opened after a recent adaptive reuse project. These interiors, with exposed masonry patterns and brick and stone vaults, are extraordinary. Visitors admire the authenticity of this place and show interest in visible traces of remodeling, although they appear to have problems with interpreting sources. The author clarified the cellars’ history and translated it as explored by others (arts historians, archaeologists who had conducted many years of research on the structure) to the language of images, a vision of the cellars’ past appearance and use. The reconstructions are based on authentic material traces: the state of the walls, vaults and openings, as confronted with written sources. The result of this study is a set of views of several of the oldest underground interiors, which compare the state as encountered with the state from ages before, along with a brief interpretation.

This essay historicizes the Shakespeare curriculum at UC Berkeley’s English department over the last one hundred years. An elite research university in the United States, UC Berkeley’s extensive course offerings have expanded due to changes in undergraduate education and external cultural shifts. With a growing number of courses on sexuality, race, gender, etc., that became part of the purview of an English department, the teaching of Shakespeare expanded as well. I demonstrate how the emphasis on Shakespeare in the U.S. undergraduate curriculum shifts over time from one form of recognition—an acknowledgement of his value or worth—to a recognition of identifying with his work based on prior experience. Distinguishing between courses that combine “Shakespeare and” and those that combine “Literature and,” I expose the consequences each has for the canonicity of both Shakespeare and subject fields with which his works are placed in conversation, explicitly and implicitly. I argue that the expansion of Shakespeare in the American undergraduate curriculum coincides with and depends on the compression of key aspects of interpretation that pose challenges for the new knowledges it seeks to create. I illuminate how an expanded Shakespeare curriculum saw a compression of Shakespeare into metonymic mythic status, which has implications for the teaching of literature from various identity and cultural groups. I demonstrate how the origins of an expansive undergraduate Shakespeare curriculum in the United States positions Shakespeare as the interlocutor for a wide range of topics.

This paper examines the composition of both Oxford and Cambridge Universities, with particular emphasis upon the college-based tutorial as the blueprint for a more relational form of education. The article covers a brief history of the college system, the life cycle of an Oxford student, and the educational outcomes of the tutorial. This is shown to promote creativity of thought, and therefore proves to be a successful method of teaching. In conclusion, it is suggested that the tutorial is gaining popularity within secondary education as an alternative to group teaching, chiefly because of its focus on the development of the individual student.
W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono strukturę uniwersytetów w Oksfordzie i Cambridge; skupiono się szczególnie na opartym na strukturze kolegialnej systemie tutoringu jako modelowym rozwiązaniu edukacji opartej na relacjach. Przedstawiono historię systemu kolegialnego, kolejne etapy doświadczeń studenta oraz skutki stosowania systemu tutorialnego. W tekście argumentuje się za tym, że jest to skuteczna metoda uczenia, która wspiera twórcze myślenie. W podsumowaniu wskazuje się, że tutoring staje się coraz bardziej popularny w szkolnictwie średnim jako alternatywa dla uczenia grupowego. Jest to umotywowane przede wszystkim naciskiem, jaki tutoring kładzie na indywidualny rozwój każdego ucznia.

Początki Biblioteki Trinity College w Dublinie wiążą się z założeniem tamtejszej uczelni w 1592 r. W 1801 r. biblioteka jako pierwsza w całej Irlandii otrzymała prawo do egzemplarza obowiązkowego publikacji wydawanych w całym Zjednoczonym Królestwie Wielkiej Brytanii. Najstarszy budynek biblioteki, nazywany obecnie Starą Biblioteką, stanowi życiowe osiągnięcie architektoniczne Thomasa Burghsa. Stara Biblioteka wraz z znajdującym się w niej Długim Pokojem jest jedną z największych atrakcji turystycznych w Irlandii i przechowuje tysiące starych oraz niezwykle rzadkich woluminów. Biblioteka znajduje się w posiadaniu m.in. harfy Briana Boru, narodowego symbolu Irlandii, kopii Proklamacji Republiki Irlandzkiej z 1916 r, a także słynnej Księgi z Kells.
The Library of Trinity College Dublin began with the founding of Trinity College in 1592. In 1801, the Library was given legal deposit rights, making it the only library in Ireland to have such rights for the United Kingdom at that time. The oldest library building, now known as the Old Library, is Thomas Burgh’s magnum opus. Also incorporating the Long Room, the Old Library is one of Ireland's biggest tourist attractions, and holds thousands of rare, and in many cases very early, volumes. The Library is the permanent home to the Brian Boru harp which is a national symbol of Ireland, a copy of the 1916 Proclamation of the Irish Republic, and the Book of Kells.

(E)-N’-(3,3-dimethyl-2,6-diarylpiperidin-4-ylidene)-4-methoxybenzohydrazide (DDMs) have been synthesized and their IR and 1H spectra were recorded. The optimized geometric parameters (bond lengths, bond angles and dihedral angles) were in good agreement with the corresponding experimental values. In addition, HOMO-LUMO, MEP and atomic charges of carbon, nitrogen and oxygen were calculated using B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) level theory. The polarizability and first order hyperpolarizability of the title molecule were calculated and interpreted.

Non-public higher education institutions in Poland are now in a very complex, dynamic environment, which greatly hinders their effective management. Foresight inherently supports the management, in terms of information and methodology, which helps managers make decisions. The purpose of this paper is to present foresight as higher education institution management concepts and exemplary process of its use.

This study investigated foreign language students’ perceptions about their Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based College English Course (CEC) in China. The research used a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire based on Simsek (2008). A factor analysis confirmed the construct validity of the questionnaire and 6 factors were delineated. 200 non-English majors who responded mentioned that ICT was well integrated into the CEC. They reported that the ICT-based CEC gave them a good environment for independent learning and they were more motivated to learn English as they had more opportunities to communicate, interact and cooperate with other students in English using authentic language in a variety of contexts. They found learning was more effective compared to the traditional learning environment; it provided freer learning environment, less restricted communication, more time flexibility and more self-scheduled study plan ensuring learner-centeredness and learning autonomy.

W artykule zostały przedstawione informacje związane z kartografią oraz geowizualizacja pozwalającą na odzwierciedlanie rzeczywistości w postaci modeli przestrzennych, które zawierają jakościową i ilościową charakterystykę zjawisk realnych. W szczególności skupiono się na informacjach dotyczących mapy interaktywnej, jako elementu składowego systemów informacji geograficznej wykorzystywanego zarówno w badaniach naukowych jak i w działalności praktycznej. Przykładem mapy interaktywnej jest przedstawiona w pracy mapa atrakcji turystycznych miasta Bydgoszcz opracowana w aplikacji MapCreator, która to aplikacja jest połączeniem programu kartograficznego z programem graficznym.
The article presents information related to cartography and geovisualization allowing to reflect the reality in the form of spatial models that include qualitative and quantitative characteristics of real phenomena. In particular it focuses on the information on the interactive map, as a component of geographic information systems used both in research and in practical activity. An example of the interactive map is presented in the working map tourist attractions of the city of Bydgoszcz developed MapCreator application, which application is a combination of mapping program with a graphical program.

Aim. The purpose of the research is to develop and substantiate a theoretical model for the formation of a professional culture of finance students. Methods. The authors used a set of interrelated methods: comparative analysis, comparison and synthesis, appropriate for modelling professional culture as a pedagogical phenomenon, and functional-structural analysis for systematisation of the stages of building the professional culture. A theoretical model of professional culture has been designed and validated. This model consolidates research from studies of motivation, cognitive sciences, organisational behaviour, and values in educational and financial institutions and lays the foundations of finance students’ professional culture formation methodology. Results. The obtained results showed  positive dynamics in the formation components (motivational, creative, organisational and axiological) of the theoretical model of professional culture development. Our findings confirmed that the cultural and educational environment encourages students’ engagement in learning, boosts the development of their motivational and semantic sphere, ensuring the implementation of individual learning trajectories. Conclusion. The complex of methods implemented evidences the educational, cultural, and innovative potential of the college for training and students’ personal and professional development. The structure of the professional culture development model for finance students has driven a reconsideration of the content of their professional training, generation and dissemination of novel methods and technologies. Practical implementation. The research has resulted in changes to the vocational training programmes for college finance students, the introduction of  teaching methods for professional disciplines that proved their efficiency, and development of cooperation with banking institutions, financial and insurance companies.

The article deals with the problem of applying the Kano questionnaire to make an assessment of quality features of an educational service by students. The authors present the usability of the Kano questionnaire for this purpose. The main aim of the research was to identify those attributes of an educational service that influence its quality from the point of view of a student of an institution of higher education. At the same time, the authors intended to examine whether there are differences in the evaluation of the qualities of this service between the groups of the so-called loyal and disloyal students. The survey research proved that there exist statistically significant differences of two proportions in the students’ assessment of the quality attributes of an educational service, while a hierarchization/classification of these attributes in most cases is similar in both of the examined groups.
W artykule podjęto temat wykorzystania kwestionariusza Kano do oceny cech jakościowych usługi edukacyjnej przez studentów. Autorki prezentują użyteczność kwestionariusza Kano. Głównym celem badań była identyfikacja atrybutów usługi edukacyjnej, które mają wpływ na jej jakość z punktu widzenia studenta szkoły wyższej. Równocześnie zamiarem autorek było sprawdzenie, czy pomiędzy badanymi grupami studentów tzw. lojalnych i nielojalnych występują różnice w ocenie ważności cech tejże usługi. Badania ankietowe wykazały, że występują statystycznie istotne różnice dwóch proporcji w zakresie oceny cech jakościowych usługi edukacyjnej, natomiast hierarchizacja/klasyfikacja tychże cech w większości przypadków przebiegała podobnie w obu badanych grupach.

A total of 843 college students in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies were investigated using a social support evaluation scale, a resilience scale, and a life satisfaction evaluation scale. Results were analyzed using IBM® SPSS 21.0® and Amos 17.0. It was shown that there existed a positive correlation respectively among resilience, social support and life satisfaction. Social support predicted resilience positively and resilience partially mediated the association between social support and life satisfaction. Finally, resilience moderated the association between social support and life satisfaction; the higher the resilience level, the more significant the positive predictive effect of social support on life satisfaction. College students' life satisfaction is closely related to social support and resilience; resilience partially plays a mediating and moderating role between social support and life satisfaction.

India has the longest engagement with Shakespeare of any non-Western country. In the eastern Indian region of Bengal, contact with Shakespeare began in the eighteenth century. His plays were read and acted in newly established English schools, and performed professionally in new English theatres. A paradigm shift came with the foundation of the Hindu College in Calcutta in 1817. Shakespeare featured largely in this new ‘English education’, taught first by Englishmen and, from the start of the twentieth century, by a distinguished line of Indian scholars. Simultaneously, the Shakespearean model melded with traditional Bengali popular drama to create a new professional urban Bengali theatre. The close interaction between page and stage also evinced a certain tension. The highly indigenized theatre assimilated Shakespeare in a varied synthesis, while academic interest focused increasingly on Shakespeare’s own text. Beyond the theatre and the classroom, Shakespeare reached out to a wider public, largely as a read rather than performed text. He was widely read in translation, most often in prose versions and loose adaptations. His readership extended to women, and to people outside the city who could not visit the theatre. Thus Shakespeare became part of the shared heritage of the entire educated middle class. Bengali literature since the late nineteenth century testifies strongly to this trend, often inducing a comparison with the Sanskrit dramatist Kalidasa. Most importantly, Shakespeare became part of the common currency of cultural and intellectual exchange.
