W niniejszej publikacji przedstawiono próbę oceny możliwości aktualizacji bazy danych przestrzennych na podstawie pomiarów wykonanych odbiornikami Mobile Mapper CE, Mobile Mapper CX oraz wektoryzacji ortofotomapy. Pomiary wykonano w dwóch obszarach testowych – wiejskim i miejskim. Przedmiotem pomiaru były obiekty punktowe, liniowe i powierzchniowe. Jako wzorzec przyjęto wyniki z pomiaru GPS RTK Leica System 500. W wyniku przeprowadzonych testów uzyskano zróżnicowaną dokładność pomiarów GPS, w zależności od technologii pomiaru. Maksymalną dokładność (nawet centymetrową) uzyskano dla odbiornika Mobile Mapper CX z wykorzystaniem anteny i 10 minutowego pomiaru na punkcie. W przypadku ortofotomapy ze zdjęć 1:13 000 uzyskano dokładność położenia punktu ok. 0.9 m. Prace były prowadzone w ramach projektu AGH nr: 11.11.150.94.
The paper presents spatial database updating with Mobile Mapper CE, Mobile Mapper CX and orthophotomap digitalization. Two areas: a rural and an urban one were chosen and objects such as points, lines, and surface areas were measured .The Mobile Mapper CE and digitalization were tested on both terrain types. The Leica System 500 was assumed as a reference. The GPS accuracy varied, depending on a measurement method applied. The maximum accuracy (on the order of centimeters) was achieved using the Mobile Mapper CX with an external antenna, applied for 10 seconds. The ortophotomap generated from aerial photos to the scale of 1:13 000 resulted in 0.9 m accuracy. The work was supported by the AGH project No. 11.150.459.

Cultural heritage institutions (e.g. museums) expand the scope of information technology adaptation and make mobile applications available to the users. Up to date mobile devices (like smartphones or tablets) become fully functional devices for display and interaction with online museum information resources. This type of information dissemination can be exploited efficiently in shaping information literacies for young users for whom mobile device has become a major tool for communication, entertainment and knowledge acquisition. The paper presents the results of comparative analysis of mobile applications for museum information services in Poland. The study covered recent and most popular mobile application for online exhibitions and for accessing museum collections and it has been limited to mobile applications for Android operation system. The analysis was based on selected applications highly rated on Google Play Store and AppBrain.com. The popularity of mobile applications was established based on statistical data- rating score, user comments and the total number of downloads. The study indicates selected features such as mobile devices capacities, built-in mechanisms (gyroscope, GPS, camera), interactivity and multimedia features.

Opis:

The aim of the article is to indicate the possibilities of using the mobile application in support of Customer Relationship Management in healthcare (in case of diabetics). The study is based on literature studies and the results of a questionnaire survey conducted online on Polish websites and in social media for diabetics in January 2016. The research results quoted in this paper prove that the application of mobile solutions can be beneficial for the CRM system in healthcare industry and patient’s health. The results of own research show that this is still a rather rare practice. However, the great majority of the respondents is willing to use the mobile application and patients express their interest in using it to monitor diabetes and manage their relationship with doctors and health centres. This indicates the need to understand various perceptions of mobile marketing used for CRM among patients, doctors, and managers.
Celem artykułu jest wskazanie możliwości wykorzystania mobilnych aplikacji wspomagających zarządzanie relacjami z klientami w opiece zdrowotnej, w przypadku diabetyków. Badania przeprowadzono na podstawie studiów literaturowych oraz wyników własnych badań empirycznych przeprowadzonych metodą komunikowania się pośredniego z respondentami, techniką ankiety internetowej, opublikowanej na stronach internetowych i w mediach społecznościowych dedykowanych dla diabetyków w styczniu 2016 roku. Wyniki badań wskazują, że zastosowanie rozwiązań mobilnych może być korzystne dla systemu CRM w opiece zdrowotnej. Wyniki własnych badań empirycznych pokazują, że jest to raczej rzadka praktyka. Jednak zdecydowana większość respondentów chce skorzystać z aplikacji mobilnej, a pacjenci wyrazili zainteresowanie użyciem aplikacji do monitorowania cukrzycy i zarządzania relacjami z lekarzami i ośrodkami zdrowia. Wskazuje to na potrzebę zrozumienia różnego postrzegania marketingu mobilnego wśród pacjentów, lekarzy i kadry zarządzającej.
Цель статьи – указать возможности использования мобильных аппликаций, поддерживающих управление отношениями с клиентами в здравоохранении в случае диабетиков. Изучение провели на основе анализа литературы и собственных эмпирических исследований, проведенных по методу опосредованной коммуникации с респондентами, по технике онлайн-анкеты, опубликованной на вебсайтах и в социальных медиа для диабетиков в январе 2016 г. Результаты изучения показывают, что применение мобильных решений может быть полезным для системы CRM в здравоохранении. Результаты собственных эмпирических исследований показывают, что это скорее всего редкая практика. Однако подавляющее большинство респондентов хочет воспользоваться мобильной аппликацией, а пациенты выразили заинтересо- ванность в применении аппликации для мониторинга диабета и управления отношениями с врачами и диспансерами. Это указывает потребность понять разное восприятие мобильного маркетинга среди пациентов, врачей и менед- жеров.

In this article I present some of the most popular mobile museum applications – their content, accessibility, and finally the possibility to use them in the educational process. In the public opinion these applications are not yet seen as a form of education or useful fun, but rather as a feature of mobile devices. Therefore, in their analysis, I focused on their potential for cultural education. Many museum and educational applications can be attributed to fulfill several important functions of education – developmental, educational, cognitive, expressive, culture-creating and finally recreational and ludic. Mobility is therefore an important goal of education nowadays, and the modern facilities can help to develop competencies that are important from the perspective of cultural education, such as understanding the needs of training and cultural development in the process of lifelong learning, valuing traditions and cultural heritage.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie możliwości wsparcia nowoczesnymi narzędziami m-learningowymi kształcenia na uczelniach. W artykule zaprezentowano dynamikę rozwoju rynku aplikacji mobilnych. Zastosowane metody badawcze to analiza krytyczna źródeł literaturowych oraz studia przypadków wdrożenia m-learningu na uczelniach. Po przeanalizowaniu rozwoju rynku aplikacji edukacyjnych w świetle polskich realiów wydaje się, że rozsądną opcją jest wsparcie tradycyjnych metod nauczania przez iPady. Wyzwania, jakie z tym się wiążą, to konieczność opracowania aplikacji edukacyjnych skrojonych do potrzeb specyficznych kierunków studiów lub przetłumaczenia istniejących na język polski.
The goal of this article is to show the possibilities of supporting the educational system at Universities by modern m-learning tools. This article presents dynamic development of mobile applications. Implemented research methods: critical analysis of literature sources and case studies of implementation of m-learning at Universities.It seems, after the analysis development of the educational app market in the light of polish reality, that a reasonable option is supporting traditional methods of teaching by iPads. The challenges are: necessity to create educational apps tailored to the needs of particular field of study or translating already existing into polish language.

Studies show that mobile phones are an important part of youth lifestyle and culture. In establishing this, it is important to know how youth themselves perceive the importance of mobile phones in their life. Our research was based on a sample of 6th and 9th graders from Slovenia (n = 820). The data was collected using a questionnaire. The study showed that the most common reason for using mobile phones is to communicate with other pupils and the reason for having a mobile phone is to be connected with others. Moreover, various feelings and fears connected to mobile phone use are experienced by pupils. The study also revealed some possible dangers of MPs use by pupils. Based on the results, it is necessary to raise pupils’ awareness of the safe, moderate and critical use of mobile phones in their everyday life.

Przedstawiono też zasady pracy urządzeń wykrywających i neutralizujących miny.
The paper presents issues related to the project automated mobile system for detection and neutralization of non-metal mines. This system is mounted on a mobile platform based on a pyrotechnic robot IBIS. Platform is prepared for autonomous operation and has a non-metallic mines detection systems. The paper presents a methodology of work of a ground vehicle and the whole system and their impact on the demands of a navigation system. Paper presents also the principle of the work of the detecting and neutralizing mines systems.

Mobile commerce (m-commerce) is a fact. Nowadays, numerous transactions take place via mobile devices. At the same time, m-commerce is considered as one of the fastest growing subgroups of e-commerce. Characteristically, it is estimated that about 45% of mobile users have made at least one purchase via a wireless hand-held device. Therefore, it plays and will continue to play a vital role in the global economy. The aim of this research paper is to investigate the perceptions of mobile commerce users focusing on Bulgarian University students. Specifically, it intends to reveal the perceived advantages and disadvantages of m-commerce, the factors that motivate students to make online transactions via a hand-held device, as well as the issues that hinder them from doing so more often. The paper is expected to provide tangible results to both academia and the industry about a developing economy.

The purpose of this study was to explore whether students’ vocabulary learning can be improved via mobile apps and to further enhance their TOEIC scores. Seventy English as a Foreign Language (EFL) senior high school students in Taiwan were recruited. TOEIC tests were used for pre-and post-testing to gather quantitative data. Qualitative data were collected from classroom observations and interviews. The results indicated that there was no significant difference in TOEIC scores between the experimental and the control group. However, students’ attitudes towards the app were positive and believed that it helped improve their vocabulary learning for the TOEIC exam.

The map is the key element in any navigation system. The dynamic growth of indoor navigation systems requires improvements in quality not only of positioning systems but also of maps of building interiors. Most emergent solutions in this field do not use cartographic knowledge. Cartographic methodology for representing building interiors is still in its initial stages of development. Its proper use may, however, be of great importance to the effectiveness of indoor navigation. The author presents important features that indoor mobile maps should possess, for both the data model and the presentation method to be used. In this context, the question of the contemporary definition of a map is also discussed.

The article presents the main aspects of the development of the market of mobile devices and solutions for using the Internet. In the following part, the authors present a pilot study on the use of mobile technology in terms of mobile web pages. The survey contains four main categories of companies, i.e.: having mobile websites, carrying out a project to implement this type of solution, planning to start such a project, and not planning to take this type of action. Next, the authors present and analyze the results of pilot studies. The article is crowned with conclusions regarding the level of awareness of the use of mobile web technologies in business in the Polish SME sector.

In 2008, the Japanese government enacted a new healthcare law that requires companies to reduce the weight of overweight employees suffering from so-called metabolic syndrome, and the weight of their spouses. In 2013, companies that fail to reduce the weight of their employees and their spouses will be penalized. So, companies aim to introduce tools to support to loose weight. At first, we developed the first version of mobile application, named HIPPO (Healthcare Information Platform Project), to support to loose weight in 2007. This application worked well during two months and 76% of users whose BMI was 25 or over lost their weight. However, this problem was that many users could not continue to use this application and users who could continued to use this application could loose weight. We thought that to develop application that made user continue to use was important. So, in 2008, redesigned the system architecture and application from three view points, (1) Address real user needs, (2) Rethink and streamline the data-entry model for food and exercise, (3) Make the user experience personal and engaging. We designed one simple application with limited functions and use email as a support tool. As the result, 84% of uses could continue to use the second generation application.

As the whole world is going mobile, application of mobile devices in education, also known as m-learning, is becoming one of the most popular areas of educational research. This paper presents the implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness and students’ attitudes toward an adaptive mobile learning system based on personalized content and mobile web. Personalization of learning materials is based on the Felder-Silverman learning style model and the features of the accessing mobile device were identified using the device library. The results of the study confirm students’ positive attitudes toward mobile learning and the developed adaptive m-learning system. They also prove the effectiveness of the system and m-learning as an additional educational tool in terms of increasing students’ knowledge and scores.

In this paper, we propose framework for an adaptive handover control architecture (AHCA), which aims at enhancing overall IP handover performance while maximising utilisation of resources in wireless access networks. The IP handover procedures in the AHCA adapt dynamically to network conditions, as well as to a wide range of user profiles and application quality of service (QoS) requirements. To confirm our expectations that the AHCA will bring performance benefits in heterogeneous mobile IP networking environment, we have investigated basic performance characteristics of different handover mechanisms. The preliminary simulation results demonstrate that the AHCA will bring significant performance improvements as compared with non adaptive IP handovers.

This theoretical-empirical contribution deals with mobile applications and the various ways in which they are used in current journalism. The aim is to analyze and then to compare mobile applications of typologically different media - newspapers, magazines and television. In the first part of the contribution, the author deals with brief characteristics of mobile applications and opportunities for their application. The second part of the study deals with the analysis and the resultant comparison of three mobile applications from selected Slovak media according to predefined categories. In this contribution we specifically focus on the category of researched mobile application frequency. The result of the research is the definition of the individual aspects in which applications differ from each other.

This publication presents chosen forms of data persistence such as: Local Storage, Shared Preferences, flat files and SQLite in the context of two widely used mobile operating systems – Android and Windows Mobile. It also describes ways to connect to external database engines such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MySQL and tries to answer the question which one of these data persistence forms makes the most sense and when. The arguments are based on performance tests that all of the described solutions were participants of.

Opis:

Mobile devices are increasingly popular among recreational water users and for navigational purposes. Making full use of the possibilities they offer requires a navigational system to be designed and built for mobile devices which make use of mobile cartography. A dynamically adaptive mobile presentation model offering various display possibilities may be an appropriate example of such a system. The navigational purpose of the system, however, requires that the main navigational data presented are integrated in one place, in a so-called conning display. These data should be easily accessible to the user, which is not always the case with mobile devices. The idea of using a Head-Up Display (HUD) as a conning display in a mobile navigation system arose from these considerations. The current paper presents research on implementing a HUD into a mobile system. First, the idea of mobile cartographic presentation is discussed, then the navigational data available in the system are presented. Finally, the concept of using a HUD is explained, a HUD presentation model is shown and technical aspects of HUD integration are described.

The chaotic mobile robot implies a mobile robot with a controller that ensures chaotic motions. Chaotic motion is characterized by the topological transitivity and the sensitive dependence on initial conditions. Due to the topological transitivity, the chaotic mobile robot is guaranteed to scan the whole connected workspace. The Chua's circuit, which is low cost and easy to construct for trajectory generators, exhibits a rich variety of bifurcation and chaotic behaviors. This particular circuit is analyzed. It is shown how to generate a sequence of chaotic behaviors by varying the value of a linear resistor of the Chua's circuit. According to the simulation, with best adjusting parameters, and mapping the appropriate chaotic variables to robot's kinematic variables, the chaotic behavior is enhanced in the sense of wide area coverage and evenness index.

The purpose of this paper is to examine how effective mobile devices are in the process of teaching and learning English through the perspective of university students. The research is aimed at finding out whether using mobile apps for learning purposes, in particular, for learning English is of interest for students and look at potential ways of learning the language. It also aims at exploring potential of educational applications downloaded to students’ mobile phones in terms of their integration into the classroom activities at university for the purposes of learning English. To fully conceptualize the research in mobile teaching and learning, the authors addressed the mentioned problem by using Google Forms. An online questionnaire was created and sent to students with responses collected in an online spreadsheet and was further analyzed by the authors. 102 representatives from 16 countries who study at 4 universities located in Poland and Ukraine took part in the survey. To link the reported mobile device use obtained from the questionnaire and its actual use for language learning the follow-up interviews for the subset of students were conducted with the relevant conclusions drawn. The issue of using mobile devices in the process of university study as an educational tool was investigated and proposed to potentially expand perceptions of tutorial experience of how we view teaching and learning English.

In this paper authors describe concept, design and build of fish-like underwater mobile robot. In the beginning, they consider shortly how a fish moves when it swims. Then the 3D model designed in CAD/CAM/CAE CATIA software is described. Next chapter presents some details of how CyberFish is build and operates underwater. The authors focused on maximal representation of fish-like movement. Moreover, the paper describes mobile robot electronic control system and discusses its applications.

Estimating the size and places of residence of the population of Ukraine has been this country’s problem for the past decade, and is related to the lack of census data for the 2010 round, large-scale processes of external and internal labour migration, and Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine that started in 2014. This already disadvantageous situation has been significantly exacerbated by Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine which began on 24th February 2022. Conducting statistical surveys, especially surveys regarding the population, turned out to impossible under war circumstances. Therefore, the task of developing effective approaches to estimating the population size using data from existing sources, in particular the data of mobile operators regarding the number, location and mobility of subscribers, has become even more pressing. The article highlights the results of a study on the use of data from mobile operators, data from administrative registers, and the results of a special population sample survey on the use of mobile communication for the purpose of estimating the population. It also provides the results of experimental calculations of the population size in Ukraine as a whole and in particular regions. The study moreover showed that the size of Ukraine’s population in November 2019, unlike the official estimate of 41,940.7 thousand people, was probably about 37,289.4 thousand people. The developed approaches can be used to estimate the number and location of the population of Ukraine during the intercensal period or significant population movements due to environmental disasters or military conflicts.

Mobile robotics can be an interesting subject for many students in a variety of engineering science fields. It builds a bridge between the pure theoretical digital world and the real, open environment. Several research results show that learning mobile robotics gives not only the ability to control certain types of robots but also develop many science-related atributes, technical and social skills. On the other hand, programming mobile robots is hard, and without a good guide, students are likely to lose their inspiration. For this purpose, we decided to develop a set of four exercises showing mobile robotics in the accessible and comprehensive way. The tasks were prepared for two types of wheeled robots: first equipped with a webcam, and second with sonar range finders. Both robots run using the ROS framework, as we find it the most popular robotics tool. The exercises are also designed considering the limited budget of educational institutions. Finally, guides for the tasks described in this paper have been shared on-line with the robotics community.

The paper analyses a number of advanced mobile information technologies in the sphere of tourism. A large volume of information has been processed to determine the main areas of development and improvement of tourism mobile information technologies. Mobile information technologies are built both for tourists and for travel agencies. In this paper, information technologies for individual tourists are laid stress on. These are tourist program guides, augmented reality tourist information systems, gamification traveling systems, tourist location based systems and others. The paper offers description of the available mobile software for trip planning and information support of tourists during a trip. It consists of two chapters: the current studies and existing mobile program algorithmic tools. According to the research outcomes, the authors propose to build a new information system for tourists Mobile Tourist Information Assistant. A set of functional features of this system as an integrated information system relying on mobile applications is proposed. The main principle of the system is EVERYTHING, HERE AND NOW.

Mobile shopping platform features and user technological readiness configure consumers' expectations and demands as regards mobile retailing adoption, leading to acceptance of mobile shopping apps and payment services. Purpose of the article: In this research, prior findings have been cumulated indicating that mobile social apps extend throughout consumer attitudes and behaviors by the widespread adoption of smartphones. We contribute to the literature by showing that cutting-edge technological developments associated with customer behavior in relation to mobile commerce apps have resulted in the rise of data-driven systems. Consumer behavioral intention and adoption intention in relation to mobile shopping apps/websites are developed on perceived risk and trust consequences. Methods: Throughout February and March 2021, a quantitative literature review of the Web of Science, Scopus, and ProQuest databases was carried out, with search terms comprising "mobile shopping app", "mobile commerce platform", "mobile payment service", "Internet-enabled consumer device", "consumer technological adoption", and "mobile shopping behavior". As research published between 2018 and 2021 was analyzed, only 330 sources met the suitability criteria. By removing questionable or indeterminate findings (insubstantial/inconsequent data), results unconfirmed by replication, too imprecise content, or having quite similar titles, 66, chiefly empirical, sources were selected. A systematic review of recently published literature was carried out on technological adoption of mobile commerce apps by employing Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis (PRISMA) guidelines. The Systematic Review Data Repository was used, a software program for the gathering, handling, and analysis of data for the systematic review. The quality of the academic articles was determined by harnessing the Mixed Method Appraisal Tool. Findings & value added: The consumer purchase decision-making process in mobile app-based marketing involves consumer engagement and willingness to adopt mobile commerce apps. Further advancements should clarify how technological-based consumer adoption of mobile shopping throughout social commerce can improve the payment for products and services.

Tele-fon komórkowy jest dziś podstawowym przedmiotem, z którego korzystają osoby w każdym wieku, coraz częściej także najmłodsze, kilkuletnie dzieci. Niewątpliwie korzyści płynące z posia-dania i korzystania z telefonu komórkowego są bardzo duże. Należy jednak pamiętać również o zagrożeniach, które wynikają z faktu nieodpowiedniego posługiwania się telefonem komórko-wym, zwłaszcza przez dzieci i młodzież. Artykuł stanowi próbę zasygnalizowania skutków nie-właściwego korzystania z telefonów komórkowych (fonoholizmu) przez dzieci i młodzież.
Due to intensive advancement of modern Information and Communication Technologies, easily accessible and highly various, it is more and more difficult nowadays to find an area of human life not bearing any sign of impact of digital media, in particular means of communication, such as the Internet or mobile telephony. The mobile phone is an essential tool used by persons of any age, in-cluding the youngest children. There is no doubt about the benefits of possessing and using a mobile phone. It is, however, vitally important to take into consideration the threats resulting from mobile phone misuse, especially among children and adolescents. This article is an attempt to demonstrate the consequences of mobile phone misuse (mobile phone dependence) by children and adolescents.

The article presents a short description of the mobile technology market both in the context of the home market and worldwide. The main part of the paper is devoted to a detailed discussion of the barriers associated with the use of mobile technologies and the presentation of results.

The airline industry constitutes a challenge for marketing specialists due to high dynamics of provision of information. Airlines strive to communicate more and more effectively with the passenger. The specific character of the branch also constitutes a challenge for mobile application developers, who update them more often than applications of companies from other branches. The goal of this article will be discussing the processes of building relations, efficient communication with clients on the market of passenger airline services using mobile applications. Up till now this problem hasn’t been the subject of both literature studies and empirical research. Source materials for the work will be available literature on the subject, own analyses based on secondary sources, as well as empirical studies conducted among passengers.
Branża lotnicza stanowi wyzwanie dla specjalistów od marketingu ze względu na dużą dynamikę podawania informacji. Linie lotnicze dążą do coraz bardziej efektywnej komunikacji z pasażerem. Specyfika tej branży stanowi również wyzwanie dla deweloperów aplikacji mobilnych, którzy aktualizują je częściej niż aplikacje firm z innych branż. Celem artykułu będzie omówienie procesów budowania relacji, skutecznej komunikacji z klientem na rynku pasażerskich usług lotniczych przy wykorzystaniu aplikacji mobilnych. Problem ten nie stanowił do tej pory przedmiotu zarówno studiów literaturowych jak i badań empirycznych. Materiałami źródłowymi opracowania będą dostępna literatura przedmiotu, własne analizy oparte na źródłach wtórnych, a także badania empiryczne realizowane wśród pasażerów.

The problem of the lack of offspring is a phenomenon concerning approximately 15% of married couples in Poland. Infertility is defi ned as inability to conceive after a year of sexual intercourses without the use of contraceptives. In half of the cases the causative factor is the male. Males are exposed to the effect of various environmental factors, which may decrease their reproductive capabilities. A decrease in male fertility is a phenomenon which occurs within years, which may suggest that one of the reasons for the decrease in semen parameters is the effect of the development of techniques in the surrounding environment. A hazardous effect on male fertility may be manifested by a decrease in the amount of sperm cells, disorders in their mobility, as well as structure. The causative agents may be chemical substances, ionizing radiation, stress, as well as electromagnetic waves. The objective of the study was the determination of the effect of the usage of cellular phones on the fertility of males subjected to marital infertility therapy. The following groups were selected from among 304 males covered by the study: Group A: 99 patients who did not use mobile phones, Group B: 157 males who have used GSM equipment sporadically for the period of 1-2 years, and Group C: 48 people who have been regularly using mobile phone for more than 2 years. In the analysis of the effect of GSM equipment on the semen it was noted that an increase in the percentage of sperm cells of abnormal morphology is associated with the duration of exposure to the waves emitted by the GSM phone. It was also confi rmed that a decrease in the percentage of sperm cells in vital progressing motility in the semen is correlated with the frequency of using mobile phones.

Introduction: The mycological literature currently devotes much attention to the issue of reduced fungal susceptibility to commonly used antifungal drugs. Purpose: To assess drug susceptibility of Candida strains isolated from samples collected from the surfaces of mobile phones and the hands of their owners. A total of 175 mobile telephones belonging to students and lecturers of the Medical University of Bialystok and University Hospital personnel as well as 175 hands of these phone owners were included in the mycological evaluation. Results: The rate of Candida contamination of personal mobile phones was more than 70.0%. C. glabrata strains were primarily isolated from the collected material (89.1% - hands; 74.9% - mobile phones). C. albicans strains showed susceptibility to most antimycotics, with the highest susceptibility to 5-fluorocytosine, and the lowest to fluconazole. C. glabrata showed the lowest susceptibility to fluconazole and miconazole, and the highest to ketoconazole. C. krusei were relatively very sensitive to antibiotics, except for fluconazole. None of the isolated strains showed resistance to more than three types of drugs. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that mobile phones are potentially vehicles for pathogenic Candida strains in a university and hospital settings.

Praca przedstawia zarys obecnego stanu badań w dziedzinie robotyki zmierzających do zwiększenia zakresu autonomii decyzyjnej robotów mobilnych. Na podstawie studiów literaturowych oraz doświadczeń zespołu badawczego Instytutu Automatyki i Inżynierii Informatycznej (IAiII) Politechniki Poznańskiej stawia się tezę, że zwiększenie autonomii robotów mobilnych oraz przełamanie istniejących dotychczas ograniczeń w zakresie ich funkcji percepcyjnych i nawigacyjnych jest warunkiem szerszego wdrożenia tych robotów w praktycznych zastosowaniach. Przedstawiono dyskusję dotyczącą obecnych i przyszłych zastosowań robotów mobilnych oraz wynikających z nich potrzeb w zakresie percepcji otoczenia i nawigacji. Uwagę skupiono na problemach trójwymiarowej i wielosensorycznej percepcji, metodach budowy modelu otoczenia oraz na zagadnieniu nawigacji autonomicznej w skomplikowanych środowiskach. Rozważania zilustrowano wynikami prac badawczych prowadzonych w IAiII.
This article provides an outline of the current research efforts in robotics that aim at extending the autonomy of mobile robots. It is argued that on the basis of a literature study and the experience of the author and his co-laborators, that mobile robots require a substantial degree of autonomy to be widely accepted as usefull in practical applications. A paradigm shift is required in perception and navigation methods to take the mobile robots from well-structured laboratories to real environments, which could be unstructured, cluttered and populated by human beigns and other robots. Current and emerging application areas of mobile robots are discussed briefly, and the requirements as to the perception and navigation capabilities are formulated. The discussion is focused on 3D and multi-sensor perception, semantically upgraded environment modells, and navigation algorithms for challenging scenarios. The discussion is illustrated with results of research conducted at the Institute of Control and Information Engineering, Poznań University of Technology.

Mobile Computing and Mobile Cloud Computing are the areas where intensive research is observed. The “mobility” landscape (devices, technologies, apps, etc.) evolves so fast that definitions and taxonomies do not catch up with so dynamic changes and there is still an ambiguity in definitions and common understanding of basic ideas and models. This research focuses on Mobile Cloud understood as parallel and distributed system consisting of a collection of interconnected (and virtualized) mobile devices dynamically provisioned and presented as one unified computing resource. This paper focuses on the mobile green computing cloud applied for parallel and distributed computations and consisting of outdated, abandoned or no longer needed smartphones being able to set up a powerful computing cluster. Besides showing the general idea and background, an actual computing cluster is constructed and its scalability and efficiency is checked versus the results obtained from the virtualized set of smartphones. All the experiments are performed using a dedicated software framework constructed in order to leverage the nolonger-needed smartphones, creating a computing cloud.

Purpose: This article aims to organize and classify research on consumer behavior in mobile marketing, namely customer acceptance. Methods/design: To facilitate the search and synthesis of studies, the first step in the approach is to build a classification model that will be used to synthesize articles and research proposals. In the second step, the author conducted a thorough review and analysis of the content of selected articles from 2014 to early 2019 and removed sections that were not related to consumer acceptance of mobile marketing. In the third step, after an accurate review, the relevant studies were identified. Seventy-eight publications were selected for detailed analysis. Results: Through classification and analysis, articles are divided into groups of topics: fields in mobile marketing, research models, research methods. The results provided a conceptual framework of mobile marketing materials that can assess the researcher’s level of attention for each sub-area. Research limitations: This study has certain limitations. The classified publications appeared only in a few journals found. Therefore, the synthesis may not cover all the research on consumer adaptation to mobile marketing. Extensive research is essential in the future. Originality/value: A results framework is analyzed and provided, summarizing the customer acceptance research process as regards mobile marketing. Cel: uporządkowanie i scharakteryzowanie badań nad zachowaniami konsumentów w marketingu mobilnym, a mianowicie nad akceptacją klientów. Metodologia: aby ułatwić wyszukiwanie i syntezę badań, na pierwszym etapie zbudowano model klasyfikacyjny, który posłużył do syntezy artykułów i propozycji badawczych; na drugim – dokonano dokładnego przeglądu i analizy treści wybranych artykułów od 2014 do początku 2019 roku oraz usunięto sekcje niezwiązane z akceptacją marketingu mobilnego przez konsumentów. Na trzecim etapie, po dokładnym przeglądzie, zidentyfikowano odpowiednie badania. Do szczegółowej analizy wybrano siedemdziesiąt osiem publikacji. Wyniki: artykuły poprzez klasyfikację i analizę zostały podzielone na grupy tematyczne: obszary marketingu mobilnego, modele badawcze, metody badawcze. Wyniki dostarczyły ram koncepcyjnych dla mobilnych materiałów marketingowych, które mogą ocenić poziom uwagi badacza dla każdego podobszaru. Ograniczenia/implikacje badawcze: sklasyfikowane publikacje pojawiły się tylko w kilku znalezionych czasopismach. Dlatego synteza może nie obejmować wszystkich badań dotyczących adaptacji konsumentów do marketingu mobilnego. W przyszłości niezbędne są szeroko zakrojone badania. Community is a potent strategy if it is approached with the right mind-set and skills. A strong brand community increases customer loyalty, lowers marketing costs, authenticates brand meanings, and yields an influx of ideas to grow the business. Through commitment, engagement, and support, companies can cultivate brand communities that deliver powerful returns16. The findings of the study conducted by the authors show that most operators has the interactive Facebook pages and users can receive answer to their question in the reasonable time. Brand Engagement rates are the highest in Germany, France and Poland take the second place with quite similiar results, whereas England has definitely the lowest rates. Apart from this ranking, the overall level of engagement rate is low in comparison to the amount of fans, each fan page has. It means that brand strategies on Facebook should be improved to engage fans. Further studies might indicate reasons of this outcomes and engagement rates comparison in other sectors. What can be concluded according to this article is that although Facebook is the global platform, brand engagement rate within communities in the mobile network area is rather differentiated among countries and networks' brands. Using social media to build brand loyalty seems to be the upcoming challenge for all companies and the presence on Facebook should be taken seriously.

This article uses an examination of M-PESA, a large-scale financial service in Kenya, that is accessible from ordinary mobile phones. It has seen exceptional success since its introduction by mobile phone operator Safaricom in Kenya in March 2007 - it has already been adopted by 17 million customers. In this article M-PESA’s market success is  interpreted in the context of fight against poverty in developing countries. An innovational tool that has been introduced by mobile platform removes barrier to financial inclusion of the poorest of the poor and links them with conventional bank sector. Once poor people have access to cost-effective electronic means of payments such as M-PESA, they could, in principle, be profitably marketable subjects by a range of financial institutions.

The article analyzes the impact of new information technology on business, with a special focus on mobile technology. New information technology influences the development of the economy, turning it into what is known as “the new economy” or “the digital economy,” the author says. The article aims to identify contemporary trends influencing the development of the mobile business. The research method used is based on an analysis of secondary data, including publications on the mobile business, in addition to European Union statistics, reports by Polish and international consulting companies and mobile marketing agencies, and data published by leading telecommunications companies. The author sets out to confirm the hypothesis that the introduction of new information technology is one of the most important factors influencing the economic development of many countries, including Poland. The mobile business is entering a new era called the PC+ era and marked by the use of not only general-purpose desktop and laptop computers, but also mobile devices, Sznajder says. Contemporary technology and consumer trends influence the business activities of many companies, especially in the field of marketing. Thanks to mobile information technology, companies can make more effective marketing decisions in areas such as product development, prices, distribution systems and promotion, according to the author. Under such conditions, the interaction of companies with their customers is changing considerably. Companies from different sectors are embracing these trends to improve their competitiveness, the author says. They are developing the mobile business by using both traditional offline methods and modern online methods.
Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja współczesnych trendów wpływających na rozwój biznesu mobilnego, szczególnie na działania marketingowe przedsiębiorstw. Jako metodę badawczą wybrano badania wtórne, polegające na analizie zróżnicowanych informacji z takich źródeł, jak monografie, dotyczące nowych technologii informacyjnych, dane statystyczne Unii Europejskiej, raporty ministerstw gospodarczych, raporty międzynarodowych i polskich firm konsultingowych, agencji marketingu mobilnego oraz dane największych firm telekomunikacyjnych. Efektem analizy, przeprowadzonej w artykule jest potwierdzenie tezy, że następuje szybki wzrost zastosowania technologii mobilnych w biznesie, szczególnie w działaniach marketingowych. Na ten rozwój wpływa zarówno szybki rozwój mobilnych technologii informacyjnych, jak też zmiany w zachowaniach nabywców na rynku, do których przedsiębiorstwa różnych branż muszą się dostosować. Ponieważ konsumenci coraz częściej korzystają z tych urządzeń także w dostępie do Internetu, to przedsiębiorstwa muszą tę tendencję uwzględniać. Dzięki technologiom mobilnym przedsiębiorstwa mogą podejmować bardziej skuteczne działania marketingowe, dotyczące wszystkich elementów, czyli kształtowania produktów, cen, dystrybucji i promocji. Zmienia się też sposób interakcji przedsiębiorstw z nabywcami ich produktów. Biznes wkroczył już w taki etap, kiedy coraz większe znaczenie ma korzystanie z urządzeń mobilnych, takich jak telefony komórkowe, czy też smartfony, tablety i e-czytniki. Przedsiębiorstwa różnych branż w coraz większym stopniu wykorzystują tę tendencję i rozwijają biznes mobilny. Szczególnie jest to widoczne w działaniach marketingowych. Musi on być prowadzony łącznie z tradycyjnymi działaniami przedsiębiorstw (off-line) i wykorzystywaniem Internetu (on-line). Taki sposób funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw stwarza dla nich szansę na poprawę konkurencyjności. Wyniki tego badania dają podstawy do podjęcia badań pierwotnych w polskich przedsiębiorstwach.

Z badań wynika, że dzieci roczne, a nawet dwuletnie posiadają własne urządzenia mobilne. Korzystanie z takich urządzeń niesie jednak szereg zagrożeń dla rozwoju dzieci, przyczyniając się do licznych zaburzeń w rozwoju fizycznym, emocjonalnym i poznawczym. Przy odpowiedniej kontroli ze strony dorosłych urządzenia te mogą jednak wzbogacać proces rozwoju i edukacji dzieci.
Access to mobile technology is a general trend – almost all of us use them, regardless of age, gender, social status and profession. Younger and younger children have contact with them. Research shows that even one - and two - year - old children have their own mobile devices. Improper use of these devices, however, carries a number of risks for the development of children, contributing to numerous disorders in their physical, emotional and cognitive development. With proper control by the adults these devices can, however, enrich children’s educational process.

The aim of this article is to analyze the determinants of use of mobile operator’s websites providing services for mobile device users from the customer’s point of view. This is the last study of the series of research into the mobile sphere, supplementary in relation to previous analyses of the use of mobile devices, mobile applications and websites offering them. The findings presented in the article focus on the websites of operators offering the possibility to manage the access and services which may be run on mobile devices. The paper presents research objectives and questions, description of methodology and study sample as well as a comparative analysis of the obtained results and relevant discussion. The qualitative research was conducted on a selected sample of university students by means of a standardized scoring method used to evaluate selected characteristics of websites.
Celem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza uwarunkowań wykorzystania witryn internetowych operatorów komórkowych dostarczających usługi dla użytkowników urządzeń mobilnych z punktu widzenia klienta. Jest to ostatnie z cyklu badań dotyczących sfery mobilnej uzupełniające analizy poprzednie z zakresu wykorzystania urządzeń mobilnych, aplikacji mobilnych i serwisów je dostarczających. Zawarte w opracowaniu wyniki doświadczeń koncentrują się wokół serwisów internetowych operatorów zapewniających możliwość zarządzania dostępem i zakresem usług możliwych do realizacji na urządzeniach mobilnych. Struktura pracy składa się z przedstawienia założeń badania i pytań badawczych, opisu metodologii i próby badawczej oraz analizy porównawczej uzyskanych wyników i ich dyskusji. Badanie mające charakter jakościowy przeprowadzono na wyselekcjonowanej próbie studentów uczelni wyższych, stosując standaryzowaną metodę punktową do oceny wyróżnionych charakterystycznych cech serwisów.

The mediatization by afflicatization. Mobile hybridization, multitasking and sharingThe aim of the article is to answer the question about the nature of the mediatization of everyday life which occurs through mobile media: smartphones and tablets and dedicated applications. Many spheres of peoples lives is subject to mobile mediatization and its regimes. Handheld devices accompany the increasingly wider spectrum of our activity. At the same time different activities intersect, overlap, and therefore hybridizes. It leads to a situation in which it is difficult to separate them from each other. Crossing applications (e.g. through their functionality or content) support this situation. The mediatization takes place through applicatization of everyday life. It can be analyzed using the concepts of textures and regimes of mediatization formulated by André Jansson. Selected areas of everyday human activity was tested using this tool. At the same time three textures of applicatized mobile communication, corresponding to different regimes: hybridization, multi-tasking and sharing were isolated and analyzed. The context of commercialization was included and a critical picture of the phenomena was highlighted.

Stosowanie reklamy mobilnej zależy od wielu czynników. W niniejszym artykule skoncentrowano się na uwarunkowaniach, które w opinii autora mają fundamentalne znaczenie. Należą do nich: kształtowanie się wskaźnika penetracji urządzeń mobilnych, zwłaszcza smartfonów, zmiany w zachowaniach konsumentów wywołane użytkowaniem smartfonów, postawy konsumentów wobec reklamy mobilnej oraz rozwój rynku reklamy mobilnej. Niechęć wobec reklamy mobilnej stanowi istotną barierę jej stosowania, natomiast działaniem, które może ją przełamać, jest personalizacja przekazów.
The use of mobile advertising in the marketing communications of enterprises depends on various factors, both internal and external. This article focuses on the conditions that in the opinion of the author are of fundamental importance. These include the formation of the penetration rate of mobile devices, especially smartphones, mobile advertising market growth, changes in consumer behavior caused by the use of smartphones and consumer attitudes towards mobile advertising. Aversion to advertising in general, including those to mobile advertising, represents a significant barrier to the use of mobile advertising. Action that can overcome this barrier is to personalizm communications.

In recent years we can see rapid development of mobile vehicles that are becoming more widely used in everyday life and in different industries. The paper presents the design assumptions and structure of two-wheel self-balancing mobile vehicle. Then it describes in detail the mechanical construction, electronic and measuring devices. The individual components are designed, chosen and combined to form a coherent whole.

This article concerns the use of an integrated RFID system with a mobile robot for the navigation and mapping of closed spaces. The architecture of a prototype mobile robot equipped with a set of RFID readers that performs the mapping functions is described. Laboratory tests of the robot have been carried out using a test stand equipped with a grid of appropriately programmed RFID transponders. A simulation model of the effectiveness of transponder reading by the robot has been prepared. The conclusions from measurements and tests are discussed, and methods for improving the solution are proposed.

High altitude platforms (HAPs) such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) which can be deployed as stratospheric infrastructures enable a sort of new configurations of wireless networks. Ground nodes must be clustered in multiple sets and one dedicated UAV is assigned to each set and act as an mobile base station (MBS). For the intra-set nodes, UAVs must communicate each other in order to establish network links among intra-set nodes. Here we find a geographical clustering problem of networking nodes and a placement problem of MBSs. The clustering technique of mobile ground nodes can identify the geographical location of MBSs as well as the coverage of MBSs. In this paper we proposed a clustering mechanism to build such a configuration and the effectiveness of this solution is demonstrated by simulation. For a selected region with a relatively big island, we modeled mobile ground nodes and showed the result of dynamic placement of MBSs by our clustering algorithm. The final results will be shown graphically with the mobility of ground nodes as well as the placement of MBSs.

The aim of the contribution was to map the degree of smartphone addiction in adolescents by means of The Smartphone Addiction Scale (SAS-SV) short version designed by Kwon et al. (2013). The construct validity of the research tool was established by exploratory factor analysis. A unidimentional solution appeared suitable to work with. The internal consistency of the scale was determined by Cronbach’s alpha (0.831). 519 respondents aged 12 to 25 years (AM = 19.41; SD = 3.83) participated in the research. A statistically significant difference was confirmed in the degree of adolescents’ smartphone addiction by gender in favour of women, and by age, at which respondents got their first smartphones, in favour of those who got their smartphone at a younger age. The effect size of differences was weak. No statistically significant difference showed in the degree of smartphone addiction by school type attended by adolescents.

The discharges may occur in an isolator of electrical devices such as capacitors and transformers. What is more, a concept of a link between the robot and a human brain is described, in order to ensure a direct communication on the level of the human brain and the robot.

The mining mobile inspective robot is designed for monitoring explosive hazardous environments, where unknown gas mixtures consisting of explosive, toxic and suffocating gases can be present. This situation is often observed in mining hard coal excavations where inertia processes are carried out during or after a fire. Then the gas mixtures include, among others, significant concentrations of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and methane. In the paper the principle of operations and the robot assemblies which consist of mechanical, electronic, pneumatic and software elements were described. Furthermore in the paper initial traction tests of the robot were discussed.

Opis:

Mobile, personal devices are getting more capable every year. Equipped with advanced sensors, mobile devices can use them as a viable platform to implement and test more complex algorithms. This paper presents an energy-efficient person localization system allowing to detect already visited places. The presented approach combines two independent information sources: wireless WiFi adapter and camera. The resulting system achieves higher recognition rates than either of the separate approaches used alone. The evaluation of presented system is performed on three datasets recorded in buildings of different structure using a modern Android device.

The Android operating system (OS) has become the dominant smart phone OS in recent years due to its accessibility, usability and its open-source philosophy. Consequently, this has also made it a popular target for attackers who aim to install malware on Android devices and take advantage of Android’s coarsegrained, non-revoking permission system. This project designs, implements and evaluates a security tool named COMBdroid, which addresses these security concerns in Android by enforcing fine-grained, user-defined policies. COMBdroid modifies an application before installation, allowing it to override points of security vulnerabilities at run-time. As a proof of concept we have implemented three policies in COMBdroid. This paper documents the development process of COMBdroid, deriving design decisions from the literature review, detailing the design and implementation, and proving the program’s effectiveness through evaluation.

Opis:

Localization in an unknown environment is one of the major issues faced by autonomous vehicles. The solution to this problem is delivered by the Simultaneous Localization and Mapping techniques, commonly known as SLAM. SLAM is the category of algorithms allowing a robot to map the surroundings and to keep an estimate of its position. Nowadays several SLAM methods are widely used. Though, many issues arise when SLAM is applied in a complex and unstructured environment. This article details an implementation of SLAM using improved Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). The aim is to provide a simple but reliable SLAM technique. The work has been carried out on a robot Seekur Jr, the mapping has been realized with a laser scanner. The applied EKF model with its modifications is presented. The techniques used to observe the environment and to identify the landmarks are outlined. The robustness and consistency of introduced modifications were justified by experiments.

The paper describes a system designed to manage and collect data from the network of heterogeneous sensors. It was implemented using Erlang OTP and CouchDB for maximum fault tolerance, scalability and ease of deployment. It is resistant to poor network quality, shows high tolerance for software errors and power failures, operates on flexible data model. Additionally, it is available to users through an Web application, which shows just how easy it is to use the server HTTP API to communicate with it. The whole platform was implemented and tested on variety of devices like PC, Mac, ARM-based embedded devices and Android tablets.

Improved Human Resources Performance can be realized in the employee’s absence. The sophistication of technology to accommodate the absence is the use of a Mobile-Based Attendance Application. Attendance can be used to measure employee performance. One of the measuring tools in measuring performance is the Key Performance Indicator (KPI). KPI values can be obtained from the Mobile-based Attendance Application, as currently implemented by an IT Company. But in its development, there is a shortage on the application features of Daily Attendance, Leave, Report Recaps Attendance and Report Recaps Leave. The value engineering method with the Analytical Hierarchy Process is used in this paper to obtain prioritized alternatives in the development of application feature updates. The results of the research show that the alternative with the largest percentage is owned by Alternative IV (45.6%). These results indicate that this alternative can be used as a recommendation for renewal of attendance application features on IT Company. Alternative IV shows optimal results such as the realization of application feature requirements for users, consumption of fewer workdays for 1-2 days, low costs, easy-to-understand feature design, and uncomplicated programming techniques.

This article presents the performance analysis of a cross-platform mobile application implemented with Xamarin and two native applications for Android and iOS platforms. The results concerning the time analysis for selected activities were compared in order to determine whether cross-platform tools are worth using in mobile application development. Native applications achieved better performance, however in some cases the cross-platform approach allows for significant development time reduction without deterioration in user experience.
Artykuł przedstawia analizę wydajności mobilnej aplikacji wieloplatformowej utworzonej za pomocą technologii Xamarin oraz dwóch natywnych dla platformy Android i iOS. Wyniki dotyczące analizy czasów wykonywania wybranych czynności zostały porównane, aby odpowiedzieć na pytanie, czy warto używać rozwiązań wieloplatformowych w wytwarzaniu aplikacji mobilnych. Aplikacje natywne osiągnęły lepsze wyniki, jednakże w pewnych scenariuszach wykorzystanie technik wieloplatformowych pozwoli na znaczne oszczędności czasu, bez spadku poziomu wrażeń odbieranych przez użytkownika.

One of the basic problems connected with wheeled mobile robots is the choice of the appropriate navigational method. This refers to individual robots and also, in particular, the group of mobile robots. “Navigation” can be defined as an issue connected with systems control, defining their position and orientation as well as choosing appropriate trajectory. The consisting elements of mobile robots navigation are: self-localization, path planning and creating a map of the explored area. Each of the above enumerated elements is independent; however, the realization of the target navigation task of the mobile robot or the group of mobile robots depends on the correct construction of particular elements.

This work is concerned on sensitivity analysis of semiautonomy algorithm of mobile combat robot to environmental sensors' damage. The construction of the robot, semiautonomy algorithm and used sensors have been described. This algorithm takes into account environmental sensors’ damage. Simulation research results of semiautonomy algorithm using Matlab/Simulink package was presented. This research was performed for normal environmental sensors’ operation and for selected sensors' damage. On that basis, sensitivity of semiautonomy algorithm to selected environmental sensors damage was tested.

Population aging has become an increasingly severe problem in recent years. Based on the diversity of the mobile functions, and the advanced mobile technology, the elders might use the modern mobile to get the conveniences of the elder’s living. In our study, 34 senior citizens in the UK, and 56 persons in Taiwan, students of the Evergreen Elder University, answered the questions. The compared results showed that the factor of personal or family dependence and technology dependence are dominant in the UK, but the factors of personal or family dependence and social dependence are dominant in Taiwan. Elders’ education will be a hot topic of education because of the increasing population of elders. The key variables, i.e. demographic, social, psychological, and technological ones, are satisfied to be the growth of elders’ education in many developed and developing countries. Based on the duties and resources of the religions and universities, a diversity of elders’ education can be expected.

In his article of the research nature, the author carried out an analysis of the possibilities to use mobile websites and applications by clothing brands in their communication with customers. Having discussed the advantages and disadvantages of both tools, he presented results of research carried out among Polish female owners of smartphones concerning both frequency of the use of mobile websites and applications and carrying out purchases of clothing using smartphones.
В статье исследовательского характера провели анализ возможностей использования марками одежды мобильных витрин и приложений в их общении с клиентами. После обсуждения достоинств и изъянов обоих инструментов представили результаты обследований, проведенных среди польских владельщиц смартфонов, касающихся же как частотности пользования мобильными витринами и приложениями, так и совершения покупок одежды с использо- ванием смартфонов.

Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia charakterystykę systemu Mobilnego Dziennika Szkolnego jako aplikacji internetowe), która umożliwia dostęp do informacji z poziomu urządzeń mobilnych.
Nowadays mobile services are gaining more and more popularity. Users of new technologies expect to get information as quickly as possible. There is a need of providing them in an user-friendly way basing on mobile devices. This article describes the characteristic of authors' IT system named "Mobile Class Register", that allows users to get instant access to information about student's educational process.

Opis:

This study attempts to examine the influence of mobile apps on customers’ attitude and finally customers’ actual use behavior toward consumer goods. By applying the theory of mobile marketing and mobile commerce, the authors investigated the antecedents and the consequences of mobile apps to conclude about their implications in marketing. Variables, namely financial value, convenience value and fit of information are proven to have a positive impact on perceived usefulness; app design, ease of understanding and intuitive handling positively affect the perceived ease of use. Perceived variables including usefulness and ease of use have a positive influence on a consumer’s attitude. Finally, purchase intention and sharing intention, followed by actual use behavior are as a consequence in the conceptual model.
W pracy zrelacjonowano próbę zbadania wpływu aplikacji mobilnych na nastawienie klienta i jego rzeczywiste zachowanie w odniesieniu do dóbr konsumpcyjnych. Zastosowano w niej teorię marketingu mobilnego i handlu mobilnego w celu zbadania możliwości i konsekwencji używania aplikacji mobilnych w obrębie grupy docelowej. Udowodniono, że pewne zmienne, a mianowicie wartość finansowa dóbr, wygoda dostępu do informacji i ich dopasowanie do oczekiwań klienta mają pozytywny wpływ na postrzeganą użyteczność aplikacji, a właściwe zaprojektowanie aplikacji, ich przyjazność i intuicyjna obsługa pozytywnie wpływają na łatwość użytkowania. Szczególnie ważne okazały się przydatność i łatwość użytkowania jako czynniki korzystnie oddziałujące na nastawienie konsumenta. Zamiar zakupu i gotowość do udostępniania w sieci informacji na ten temat, a także późniejsze rzeczywiste wykorzystanie aplikacji są zależne od czynników opisanych w koncepcji modelowego zachowania.

Opracowanie przedstawia wyniki badania kwestionariuszowego przeprowadzonego wśród studentów lubelskich uczelni dotyczącego poziomu wiedzy oraz typowych nawyków podczas korzystania z m-bankingu. Ponadto w oparciu o informacje prezentowane przez wybrane banki i instytucje sektora finansowego zostały omówione przykładowe metody działania cyberprzestępców.
The purpose of this article is to examine consumer awareness in the use of mobile banking in Poland. The evolution of mobile banking as well as the scale of its occurrence are also presented. The study presents the results of a survey conducted in the form of a survey, the level of knowledge and typical habits when using m-banking for students of Lublin universities. In addition, examples of cybercriminals' methods of operation based on information presented by selected banks and financial sector institutions are discussed.

W artykule podjęto próbę opisania różnorodnych aspektów wymiany danych na styku urządzenia mobilne - usługi cloud computing. Przedstawiono: wyzwania komunikacji mobilnej, kryteria jakości wymiany danych mobilnych, wymieniono modele i zasady synchronizacji danych. W dalszej części przedstawiono modelową koncepcję synchronizacji danych w modelu cloud computing.
Data synchronization especially in the era of ever-increasing importance of cloud computing is playing an increasingly important role. At the same time, a growing number of mobile devices are now reaching billions of devices around the world. Due to the needs of users who evolve to absorb the variety of information they need in their work, entertainment and personal life, there is a growing concern that the data present on the user's device will be compatible with the data available under the various services offered in the cloud computing model. Therefore, the article attempts to describe the various aspects of data exchange at the interface of mobile devices - cloud computing services. The following are presented: mobile communication challenges, mobile data exchange quality criteria, models and rules for data synchronization. The model for data synchronization in the cloud computing model is presented also.

W ciągu ostatnich lat rosnąca popularność przenośnych urządzeń komputerowych, takich jak smartfony i tablety, stała się impulsem do rozwoju nowego rodzaju narzędzi dla medycyny - mobilnych aplikacji medycznych. Skala tego zjawiska przypomina zmiany, jakie w latach 80. i 90. XX wieku zapoczątkowało w diagnostyce i terapii wprowadzenie komputerów osobistych. Z technologicznego punktu widzenia urządzenia mobilne dorównują obecnie klasycznym komputerom, a pod pewnymi względami nawet je przewyższają. W zastosowaniach medycznych zamierzoną funkcję urządzenia mobilne uzyskują poprzez instalację oprogramowania (aplikacji), a w niektórych przypadkach również poprzez dołączenie dodatkowego sensora. Celem artykułu jest usystematyzowanie aktualnej wiedzy na temat mobilnych aplikacji medycznych: przedstawienie ich klasyfikacji oraz zilustrowanie jej przykładami aplikacji będących już obecnie w użyciu. Celem pracy jest także omówienie sprzętowych i programowych ograniczeń wynikających z przyjętego modelu funkcjonowania. Artykuł przed-stawia także warunki dalszego rozwoju mobilnych aplikacji medycznych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem kształcenia specjalistów o odpowiednich kompetencjach technicznych i wiedzy medycznej, pozwalających na efektywną komunikację ze środowiskiem lekarzy.
In last years, the increasing popularity of smartphones and tablets has enabled the growth of a new branch of medical tools - mobile medical applications (apps). The scale of this effect is comparable to the digital revolution in medicine from 1980s caused by the introduction of personal computers. From the technological standpoint, current mobile devices match conventional computers in terms of computational power and outperform them in some other aspects. In medical usage, the desired functionality requires the installation of a dedicated software (an app) or, in some cases, specialized sensors. The paper presents an overview of some existing solutions. The aim is also to discuss the hardware and software limitations of mobile medical apps resulting from the model of operation they use. Finally, the article presents the conditions enabling further progress in this field, with special emphasis on the education of specialists that will communicate with medical staff.

Nowoczesna szkoła, jeśli chce być atrakcyjna dla swoich uczniów, nie może być obojętna wobec mediów cyfrowych o charakterze mobilnym, które są na co dzień wykorzystywane przez adolescentów. Technologie mobilne to urządzenia, które mogą być używane przy ciągłej zmianie lokalizacji w terenie, wykorzystując transmisję danych na odległość za pomocą bezprzewodowego medium (częstotliwości fal radiowych). Edukacja mobilna to szeroka gama możliwości, jakie stwarza połączenie technologii mobilnych i bezprzewodowych sieci, które można wykorzystać również w szkole. Dzięki mobilnym urządzeniom można łatwo zmotywować uczniów do sensownej własnej aktywności. Dlatego nauczyciel powinien mieć świadomość, że na każdą technologię w szkole trzeba mieć pomysł, a także umiejętności pozwalające na zastosowanie tych technologii w pracy dydaktycznej. Głównym celem przeprowadzonych przeze mnie badań było pozyskanie odpowiedzi i ich analiza na temat edukacji mobilnej wykorzystywanej w szkole. Skonstruowane autorskie narzędzie badawcze miało zweryfikować opinie nauczycieli w zakresie ich przygotowania do zastosowania edukacji mobilnej (m-learning, mobile learning) w ich szkołach. Wyniki i konkluzje przedstawiam w artykule.
Modern school, if it wants to be attractive to its pupils, cannot be indifferent to digital mobile media which are used on a daily basis by adolescents. Mobile technologies are devices that can be used independently of constant change of location using distant data communication by means of a wireless medium (radio waves frequency). Mobile education therefore is a wide range of possibilities provided by combination of mobile technologies and wireless networks that can also be used at school. Thanks to mobile devices it is easy to motivate pupils to sensible activity. Therefore a teacher should be aware that for each technology he should have an idea and also skill that may allow him to use particular technology in his didactic work. The main purpose of my research was to obtain and discuss answers on mobile education used at school. My own research tool was to verify teachers‟ opinions about their own level of preparation to applying mobile education (m-learning, mobile learning) in their schools. Results and conclusions are presented in the article.

The purpose of the study was to identify educational effects of a new learning method that integrates mobile-technology-based science learning with activity oriented discovery learning. The major finding of the study was that the mobile technology-based Science program enabled students to learn scientific knowledge through associated activities and creatively apply their knowledge to complete the mission of the learning. This paper presents the use of new technical equipment by young adults (30 years old or younger), and the physical symptoms they have. The paper then analyses how the symptoms are associated with the use of computers and mobile phones, taking into account the background information. The study is based on a survey of 15 000 working-age (18–65) Finns. The responses (1563) covering young adults’ physical symptoms were analysed. Altogether 53.3% of all young adults had pretty often or more frequently pain, numbness or aches in the neck and 32.2% had aches in the hip and lower back. Women experienced more pain, numbness or aches in the neck (65.0%) than men (34.5%). The use of different computers at leisure quite often had an association with some symptoms in different parts of the body. In addition, exhaustion at work had associations with some physical symptoms. In the future, it is essential to note ergonomic reasons and exhaustion at work when young adults experience pain, numbness or aches.

In this paper, a reference is made to the subject of remote control of certain parts of a residential building via Bluetooth using the mobile device. In the first place, the wireless data transmission via Bluetooth is described. Then, the paper deals with the design of the building and the electronic system based on a microcontroller from the ATmega family that communicates with mobile devices via Bluetooth wireless data transmission. The design includes lightning system, roller blinds, a fan and a garage door. The control is based on the system consisting of a triac and an opto–triac. In addition to this, a control application for Android system is created to enable the remote control by means of a mobile device.

Beacon to emiter sygnału Bluetooth Low Energy zawierającego zakodowany identyfikator. Odbiorcą takiego sygnału jest zwykle urządzenie mobilne typu smartfon czy tablet. Zainstalowana na urządzeniu mobilnym aplikacja może dostarczać jej użytkownikowi dodatkowych funkcjonalności. Technologia ta umożliwia wytwarzanie różnych systemów, w tym używanych w reklamie sprzedaży lub usług. W pracy przedstawiono prototyp systemu, który pozwala na wsparcie strategii sprzedaży sklepów wielkopowierzchniowych opartej o zjawisko „webroomingu”, gdzie klient wybiera produkty i dodaje je do swojej listy przez Internet, a następnie odbiera je w rzeczywistym sklepie. Aplikacja mobilna będzie wspomagać klienta w tworzeniu listy zakupów, wskazania miejsc składowania interesujących towarów, optymalizację drogi dojścia z wykorzystaniem agentów mobilnych. Przetestowano wpływ odległości oraz sieci Wi-Fi na działanie aplikacji.
Beacon is a device, that broadcasts its identifier via Bluetooth Low Energy signal to nearby mobile devices, like smartphones or tablets. A special application installed on user’s device serves additional functionalities, that improves general user experience. This technology allows companies to develop advanced systems, that can enhance and support advertising campaigns of products and services. In this paper there is a description of the prototype of the system supporting selling special strategy for a large retail store. This strategy, called webrooming, is based on the assumption, that user is choosing the products via special webpage, and afterwards collects the order on-site, at the store. The mobile part of the system is supporting the user in creating shopping lists, showing the nearest products during shopping trip and by path optimization based on mobile agents’ signal. The impact of distance and Wi-Fi network on operation of application was tested.

Cloud computing became recently one of the most popular multi-layer distributed computational and data processing environments with various types of services, distributed data storages and resources. With rapid development of mobile technologies, computational clouds have been transformed into the systems with dynamically changing topology and flexible infrastructure through integration with the mobile devices and mobile users as the whole system nodes and actors. The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive study and critical comparative analysis of the recent developments in the Mobile Clouds with a new energy optimization criterion scheduling.

Opis:

The main problem of the following paper is control and supervision of web connected mobile robots. Taking up this subject is justified by the need of developing new methods for control, supervision and integration of existing modules (inspection robots, autonomous robots, mobile base station). The methodology consists of: multi robotic system structure, cognitive model of human supervisor structure, system algorithms and cognitive model algorithms. The research problem comprises web connected mobile robots system development structure with exemplification based on inspection-intervention system. The modelling of human supervisor's behaviour is introduced. Furthermore, the structure of a cognitive model of human supervisor with the application of the new NVIDIA CUDA technology for parallel computation is proposed. The results of experiments performed in real, virtual and hybrid environments are discussed. The methodology is verified by exemplification based on a system composed of autonomous mobile robot ATRVJr and robot INSPECTOR.

Opis:

In the present paper, design and performance of 12-legged walking robot is described. The complete technical specification was developed for the proposed solution. The analysis of stability of the robot movements was undertaken. Communication between robot and operator is based on remote control procedures performed by means of own software which is written in versions for smartphone or desktop computer. The software version for desktop computers has additional useful features i.e. monitoring of the area of robot work/activity via a wireless camera mounted on fore side of the robot.

Opis:

This article provides information about possible usage of mechanisms known from games in issues that are not related to games. A relatively new phenomenon, which still does not have its official name in Polish language, has recently become more popular. At the beginning of this article one will find the description of the main changes that have led to the increase of interest of this phenomenon. Next the definition of gamification, together with the description of its main features, will be provided. The final part contains the set of rules, which every system that is implementing gamification elements should contain. There is also a list of threats that should be omitted. Together with theoretical description, examples that show already implemented systems are presented in this paper.

Opis:

This paper deals with the terrain classification problem for an autonomous mobile robot. The robot is designed to operate in an outdoor environment. The classifier integrates data from RGB camera and 2D laser scanner. The camera provides information about visual appearance of the objects in front of the robot. The laser scanner provides data about distance to the objects and their ability to reflect infrared beam. In this paper we present the method which create terrain segments and classifies them using joint application of Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier and AdaBoost algorithm. The classifica- tion results of the experimental verification are provided in the paper.

The article presents the results of examining the changes that have occurred in connection with the digitization of banking in Poland and its impact on this segment. The data is taken from the National Bank of Poland, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, and the Prnews.pl website. A descriptive, statistical and Pearson correlation method were used. The results indicate an increasing share of customers using banking products in a digital way. The number of both website and mobile applications customers is growing. Despite the general increase in the number of people using banks, the number of bank branches as well as the employees working them has decreased. Mobile applications may soon become the main sales and service channel for banking products, the number of customers of banks using them regularly increases. In fact, the rise in digitization for banking and the decrease in the number of branches and employees are strongly correlated. The increasing usage of online and mobile banking is influenced by convenience, availability, and a reduction in the time customers spend on purchasing and servicing their products. Banks are interested in developing these types of services in order to both meet the changing needs of customers and to save on operating costs.

W artykule przedstawiono projekt i implementację prototypu układu do lokalizacji bezwzględnej robota mobilnego. Wykonany prototyp układu jest urządzeniem o niewielkich gabarytach i małej masie, niskim zapotrzebowaniu na energię oraz jest rozwiązaniem tanim w realizacji. Ponadto układ posiada uniwersalny interfejs komunikacji umożliwiający jego współdziałanie z różnymi architekturami sprzętowymi systemów sterowania wysokiego poziomu robotów mobilnych. Wstępne badania weryfikacyjne urządzenia dobrze rokują co do praktycznego wykorzystania tego rozwiązania do nawigacji robotów mobilnych.
The paper deals with the design and implementation of a global localization system for mobile robot applications. A developed prototype is a device that is small and light-weight, low-cost and energy-efficient. Moreover, the device posses an universal communication interface that can be used in collaboration with various high-level control systems of mobile robots. The results of some preliminary tests of the prototype show that it can be applied for navigation of mobile robots.

Computer technologies are widely used by students of any level of education. In the broad range of computer hardware mobile devices deserve special attention. They offer a number of benefits to students including the possibility of making editable notes, searching for information on line, communicating quickly and effectively or accessing multimedia materials. Due to the size of those devices the students can easily use them during classes. The study reported was done on a relatively large group of students (503) from students of the Faculty of Production Engineering of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, Poland. Its main goal was to establish students’ use of mobile devices in the educational processes, and in particular during formal classes (lectures, tutorials and lab experiments). The key finding was that above 90% of students used mobile devices during classes. The most popular mobile device was a notebook (used by 80% of students), followed by a smartphone (71%) and tablet (17%). The most popular activity was making calculations related to attended courses.

In recent years, autonomous navigation for mobile robots has been considered a highly active research field. Within this context, we are interested to apply the Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (SLAM) approach for a wheeled mobile robot. The Extended Kalman Filter has been chosen to perform the SLAM algorithm. In this work, we explicit all steps of the approach. Performances of the developed algorithm have been assessed through simulation in the case of a small scale map. Then, we present several experiments on a real robot that are proceeded in order to exploit a programmed SLAM unit and to generate the navigation map. Based on experimental results, simulation of the SLAM method in the case of a large scale map is then realized. Obtained results are exploited in order to evaluate and compare the algorithm’s consistency and robustness for both cases.
