A graph property is any isomorphism closed class of simple graphs. For a simple finite graph H, let → H denote the class of all simple countable graphs that admit homomorphisms to H, such classes of graphs are called hom-properties. Given a graph property , a graph G ∈ is universal in if each member of is isomorphic to an induced subgraph of G. In particular, we consider universal graphs in → H and we give a new proof of the existence of a universal graph in → H, for any finite graph H.

The right to this income and its level are universal and independent of the size and structure of the household. In addition, a universal income is paid regardless of the income of the citizens from other sources. The purpose of the article is to provide a theoretical and empirical analysis of a universal basic income, with a particular emphasis on the origin and results of introducing this instrument. In the text, research methods are used based on literature studies in macroeconomics and economic policies as well as statistical and descriptive methods based on the data published by international economic institutions (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and the World Bank).

Influenza is a global health concern. The single most effective way of protecting people against influenza infection and disease is vaccination. However, currently available vaccines against influenza induce only strain-specific immunity, and do not elicit long-lasting serum antibody titers. Therefore, they are ineffective in the case of possible pandemics. There is an urgent need for a new generation vaccine which would induce broad and long-lasting immune protection against antigenically distinct flu viruses. The paper presents recent achievements and the challenges in the field of universal vaccine construction.

Opis:
Competitive swimmers have a high incidence of breaststroke-related knee injuries. The cause of the breaststroke swimmer’s knee, which is accompanied with medial pain of the knee joint, has not been clearly identified. The purpose of this investigation was to determine the biomechanical and anatomical factors which predispose subjects to injury. This study includes 60 breaststroke and crawl swimmers (16 ±3.2 years old) who have participated in 3–6-year-long swimming training in Tabriz city. The knee pain was evaluated with McGill’s pain questionnaire, and Q angle was measured with universal goniometry by knee radiography in standing position. The medial pain of knee joint increased significantly and the knee was only symptomatic when the swimmers performed the whip kick. Breaststroke swimmers were hardly able to complete training because of the knee pain. It is concluded that competitive training of breaststroke swimming for 6 months can cause exclusive injury and pain in swimmer’s knee. On the other hand, the result showed that there is a direct relationship between the swimmer’s Q angle amount and chance of the knee injury. This emphasizes a scrious consideration of Q angle states in breaststroke swimmers.

Minimum Description-Length
Opis:
This paper aims to bring theoretical linguistics and cognition-general theories of learning into closer contact. I argue that linguists’ notions of rich Universal Grammars (UGs) are well-founded, but that cognition-general learning approaches are viable as well and that the two can and should co-exist and support each other. Specifically, I use the observation that any theory of UG provides a learning criterion – the total memory space used to store a grammar and its encoding of the input – that supports learning according to the principle of Minimum Description-Length. This mapping from UGs to learners maintains a minimal ontological commitment: the learner for a particular UG uses only what is already required to account for linguistic competence in adults. I suggest that such learners should be our null hypothesis regarding the child’s learning mechanism, and that furthermore, the mapping from theories of UG to learners provides a framework for comparing theories of UG.

Universal design is a strategic approach for planning and designing both the products and their environment, aimed at making a given product available to the widest number of possible users. It ensures equality for all of them and the opportunity to participate in the society. This concept is also crucial in the process of designing and developing software. The research was conducted with the use of four services, three of them were implemented for the purpose of this study. Two of them took into consideration the principles of universal design, while the others did not. The aim of the study was verification of the level of usability and accessibility of services by means of three independent methods: the LUT (Lublin University of Technology) checklist, an assessment taking into account WCAG 2.0 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards using the automatic WAVE evaluation tool (Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool) and a device allowing to track the movement of the eye while performing various tasks on websites. The websites were assessed by twenty experts in the field of creating web application interfaces, using the LUT checklist. The time to the first fixation (TTFF) that it took respondents to look at specific website elements was measured using the eye tracker device and iMotions software. All websites were checked by means of the WAVE tool to detect irregularities and non-compliance with universal design standards. The analysis performed clearly indicated that websites that follow the universal design guidelines were more useful, intuitive and accessible for users. It might be concluded that interfaces allow to find necessary information and perform desired actions in a shorter time when prepared in accordance with the principles of universal design.

Influenza A virus infections are the major public health concern and cause significant morbidity and mortality each year worldwide. Vaccination is the main strategy of influenza epidemic prevention. However, seasonal vaccines induce strain-specific immunity and must be reformulated annually based on prediction of the strains that will circulate in the next season. Thus, it is essential to develop vaccines that would induce broad and persistent immunity to influenza viruses. Hemagglutinin is the major surface antigen of the influenza virus. Recent studies revealed the importance of HA stalk-specific antibodies in neutralization of different influenza virus strains. Therefore, it is important to design an immunogen that would focus the immune response on the HA stalk domain in order to elicit neutralizing antibodies. In the present study, we report characterization of a conserved truncated protein, potentially a universal influenza virus antigen from the H5N1 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza A virus strain. Our results indicate that exposure of the HA stalk domain containing conserved epitopes results in cross reactivity with different antibodies (against group 1 and 2 HAs). Additionally, we conclude that HA stalk domain contains not only conformational epitopes recognized by universal FI6 antibody, but also linear epitopes recognized by other antibodies.

The paper presents an analysis of a number of cognitive metaphors pertaining to the concept of mind (e.g. sanity and insanity), heart, and fire. The study has been based on the text of Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer. The paper contains a short theoretical introduction and a discussion of different linguistic and psychological approaches to issues related to figurative and literal, conventional language use. The analytical part focuses on the detailed contextual study of the cognitive metaphorical concepts. It is argued that many apparently similar concepts can evoke semantically conflicting metaphors, while concepts that appear to be mutually exclusive can sometimes evoke common associations and thereby similar metaphors.

A class ℱ of universal algebras is called a formation if the following conditions are satisfied: 1) Any homomorphic image of A ∈ ℱ is in ℱ; 2) If α₁, α₂ are congruences on A and $A/α_{i} ∈ ℱ$, i = 1,2, then A/(α₁∩α₂) ∈ ℱ. We prove that any formation generated by a simple algebra with permutable congruences is minimal, and hence any formation containing a simple algebra, with permutable congruences, contains a minimum subformation. This result gives a partial answer to an open problem of Shemetkov and Skiba on formations of finite universal algebras proposed in 1989.

Opis:
The paper deals with entry barriers induced by public aid and actual monopoly in a given market segment. The EU law on competition constitutes the subject, being seen, however, from economic perspective, which is the method of law and economics. The focus are universal services which seem to be extremely vulnerable to the monopolization of public procurement and to unfair state aid, and to rent seeking as well. The overview of legal foundations reveals the EU regulations are too soft to bring a solution to these problems. Additionally, the soft stance of EU institutions by no means makes the situation sounder. As far as universal services are concerned, the member states are free to choose agents, with constraints imposed by the EU being of definitely general nature and the rationale for this saying that these services need to be delivered even on non-profit basis if necessary. Here, we see the EU aiming at two trade-offs that is liberalization on the one hand and mission of the efficiently performed universal service on the other hand. On the EU level common rules of providing universal services are made which are to be implemented on the national level. According to the European Commission, such “division of labour” allows an action which is suitable to peculiarities of every member state. In practice, such elasticity provokes national public bodies to moral hazard. This constitutes an actual challenge for common policies in the sake of gradual and controlled liberalization. There is a prolonged conflict between member states and the EU institutions concerning the issue in which direction rules in this field should be developed. The market segment under scrutiny, precisely market for universal services, reveals how controversial role in single-European-market building may be played by big companies. Most member states are prone to prefer agents vested in their countries. This peculiar alliance is supported with administrative devices that make the preferred group relatively narrow. Thus the state conserves actual monopoly and encourages rent seeking, and demonstrates its own weakness in promoting competitive order. Under such circumstances, by contrast to the EU endeavors to promote and to control economic liberalization in the member states, both the payer (public institution) and the provider (economic agent) may present an open aversion to competition. Obviously, this status quo is in contradiction to a general trend in the EU to guarantee equal access to public procurement, also in transnational dimension. Other conflicts arise on the ground that countries differ concerning a bare need for liberalization of universal services or with respect to advancement of the reforms. In some countries liberalization is advanced which means relatively open and equal access to public procurement, including foreign agents. Other countries discriminate agents, both foreign and non-privileged home operators.

The article is focused on the problem of universal validity of moral norms and it combines them with security matters. It presents the point of view of relativism with its relative comprehension of standards, where they are conditioned by time and culture. It shows two negative examples of dealing with the universality of standards, i.e. the position of hedonism and utilitarianism. All three ethical orientations absolutely can not become the basisfor a sense of security. The article also justifies why the existence of universal standards should be discussed. Their various sources such as natural and revealed law, human nature and dignity, as well as a man understood as an aim in itself were indicated here. The article emphasises the fact that the existence of universal standards and respect for such a situation determine safe human existence. The analysis was conducted primarily on the basis of thework of one of the greatest living German philosopher Robert Spaemann. In contrast, the safety aspect harmonising with his thinking has been developed by the author of the article.

This article aims to show that the universal design which developed out of different stages of including people with body and mental impairments in the full stream of life of the societies, is a highest and most civilised way of designing the human environment for everyone. It is not only the most developed way of treating human needs but also most innovative one, as the studies show. The author presents the development and progress of the tendency, specific trends in universal design and its relations with sustainability. The newest perspective for implementing the universal design is created by the aspect of the cultural inclusion, which shows the problems of integrating people of all kinds and possibilities with the societies in the light of chances for participation in the social life.

In [1] Burger and Mynhardt introduced the idea of universal fixers. Let G = (V, E) be a graph with n vertices and G' a copy of G. For a bijective function π: V(G) → V(G'), define the prism πG of G as follows: V(πG) = V(G) ∪ V(G') and $E(πG) = E(G) ∪ E(G') ∪ M_{π}$, where $M_{π} = {u π(u) | u ∈ V(G)}$. Let γ(G) be the domination number of G. If γ(πG) = γ(G) for any bijective function π, then G is called a universal fixer. In [9] it is conjectured that the only universal fixers are the edgeless graphs K̅ₙ. In this work we generalize the concept of universal fixers to the convex universal fixers. In the second section we give a characterization for convex universal fixers (Theorem 6) and finally, we give an in infinite family of convex universal fixers for an arbitrary natural number n ≥ 10.

Then we contrast universality for and universality in induced-hereditary properties of graphs and show that the overwhelming majority of induced-hereditary properties contain no universal graphs. This is made precise by showing that there are $ 2^{2^{\aleph_0 } }$ properties in the lattice $ \mathbb{K}_\le $ of induced-hereditary properties of which only at most $ 2^{\aleph_0} $ contain universal graphs. In a final section we discuss the outlook on future work; in particular the question of characterizing those induced-hereditary properties for which there is a universal graph in the property.

In controlling and managing knowledge there is need of a tool that ensures such management. Theories, principles and rules are the right tools for knowledge management (cf. Mkude 2008: 158). There has been so far only one theory known to the present researcher, which is UTAF (Zahariev 2004). This study evaluates the applicability of Universal Theory of Acronym Formation (UTAF) to Bantu languages drawing data from Kiswahili since the UTAF was developed based on European, Asian and Middle East languages[1]and, hence, in real sense, its founder did not include any acronymic data from any African or Bantu languages. The theory was developed in 2004 by Zahariev arguing that, it is the first theory accounting for acronyms and for all human languages. To my knowledge, this claim has never been tested with any of Bantu languages, which this study intends to look after. Testing this theory in Kiswahili, a Bantu language, will stimulate further insightful studies on acronyms in other Bantu languages. [1] European languages involved are English, Spanish, French, German, Finnish, Italian, Hungarian, Romanian, Russian, Bulgarian and Romanian; Middle East languages involved are Hebrew, Arabic and Farsi; Asian languages involved are Chinese and Japanese.

This should lead to a search for an in-depth dialogue with Eastern spiritual traditions, such as Buddhism, for example.

To binary trees, two-ary integers are what usual integers are to natural numbers, seen as unary trees. We can represent two-ary integers as binary trees too, yet with leaves labelled by binary words and with a structural restriction. In a sense, they are simpler than the binary trees, they relativize. Hence, contrary to the extensions known from Arithmetic and Algebra, this integer extension does not make the starting objects more complex.
We use a semantic construction to get this extension. This method differs from the algebraic ones, mainly because it is able to find equational features of the extended objects. Two-ary integers turn out to form the free algebra corresponding to the Jónsson-Tarski's "paradoxical" equations. This entails that they have a "sum" operation as well as other operations of higher dimensions.
Two-ary integers can provide LISP memories with convenient direct access jumps and the above low complexity hints at feasible hardware implementations.

In the paper the novel universal motor driver using three different modulation method of output waveform has been presented and discussed. It should be noted that in today’s world, most of driver of electrical motors are consist of four or six transistors forming appropriate bridges. Appling specified modulation methods enable to drive both single- and three-phase induction and synchronous motors of any kind. The construction of typical transistor bridge that consists of six transistors can be also used to control the direct current motors by switching off one of the pairs of transistors. In this paper the process of construction of universal motor driver has been presented, in which has been implement the modified method of Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM), Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) and also the basic Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) for DC motors. The fundamentals of applied modulation algorithms have been discussed and basic equations have been shown. The developed motor controller has been used to power three different types of motors, single-phase induction motor, threephase induction motor and magnetoelectric DC motor. The results of the conducted research have been reported in this work.

The paper presents the analysis of the motion of the intermediate element in the Birfield-Rzeppa joint. The joint is applied, among others, in automotive vehicles as an element of the drive shaft. The cage along with the balls form the intermediate element of the joint. The vibration of the element is activated during the drive shaft rotation. The vibration is enforced kinematically by the mechanism constraints. The constraints are determined by the assumed clutch geometry. The aim of the paper is to determine the variability course of the kinematic quantities characterizing the intermediate element motion of the Birfield-Rzeppa constant velocity universal joint. If the transmission function and the second position function of the clutch lead to the fluctuation of the angular velocity value and the angular acceleration of the cage along with the balls, then vibration is generated within the joint. The paper shows that drive shaft interference can be reduced by using a vibration reduction system. The article does not present an analysis aimed at reducing vibrations. Only the need for its use in the case of serious disturbances has been demonstrated.

The reception has changed substantially: from the spontaneous popularity of the Russian writer at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries through ambivalence in the interwar period, forced apotheosis after World War II to marginalization after 1989 and reinterpretation attempts in recent times. As the analysis shows, a significant part of Gorky’s plays has survived the difficult test of time. These literary works, for many directors and spectators, are a carrier of universal values, while the author is considered a classic of Russian dramaturgy.

A minor modification of this standard definition might fix it.

Interpretation of the Japanese concept of ensuring safety requires referring to the category of the universal values. Sandel, who has been lately considered a proponent of the world of the universal values suggests that normative values and beliefs should be treated as relevant criteria of social order. Lack of actions in accordance with these values and beliefs or insufficiency of such actions disturbs, in accordance to Sandel, social order and destroys the democracy. Creation of the system of normative values and beliefs constitutes for this reason a process that is crucial to creating an individual identity of an entity that is aware of the socially and culturally universal criteria of the evaluation of the actions of a human being. This is why the category of values concerns usually social determinants of behaviour of an individual from which others expect maintaining a certain behavioural pattern, regardless of whether this pattern was assimilated and accepted by the individual or not. According to such an interpretation, values shall usually be transferred as part of culture and from generation to generation as an instrument enabling proper social and cultural adjustment.

Using newspaper articles, government and charity reports and other secondary sources, this paper looks at the new problem of widespread homelessness brought about by the UK austerity economic policy after 2010. It assesse the growth of the problem due in particular to the re-engineering of welfare benefits. Looking at those who have fallen through the net, the paper focuses on the ability of local authorities to use the law to decline to support those presenting as homeless, including those released from prison. Addressing punitive measures taken by local authorities and law enforcement agencies, it highlights the difficulties faced by those targeted by such agencies. In the final section I look at two contrasting models of policy vis-à-vis homeless people – those in use in the United States and in Finland. The UK neither officially countenances homeless camps, as in the US, nor offers housing as a right, as in Finland. Drawing on an accusation made by Chris Glover in a December 2018 academic paper, I conclude that Friedrich Engels 1844 concept of social murder has been committed against thousands of people in an act of a term I coin as ‘Classism’. This act of class war against the most vulnerable has made many thousands more homeless and in precarious housing.

Opis:
The paper discusses the relationship of the global responsibility crisis with values. The author shows that the source of this crisis is the loss of perspective defined by universal values. She uses the European concept of creativity and the Chinese concept of crisis /wej-dżi/ to show the ethical dimension of the crisis. She draws attention to the usefulness of the crisis for creative crossing the limits of what is possible as set by the current situation.

Educating multicultural groups is not easy as a teacher has to deal with students from different cultural backgrounds in limited space and time. Still, it is feasible, provided that we are able to create a positive and trusting classroom environment in which all students are made to feel valued, respected and welcome. The one that combats stereotypes and prejudices allows multiple perspectives and ways of thinking and helps students develop a positive self-image. In such a classroom students can develop not only knowledge and skills, but also multicultural awareness, if only they are willing to coexist and cooperate with each other as well as accept and appreciate their varied backgrounds. Some points that I found to be the keys to success in my applied research are: culturally responsive teaching and differentiated instruction taking into account not only cultural diversity but also different learning styles andpreferences. Apart from their flexibility in the area of methodology, a teacher should use a multisensory approach to appeal to different learning styles.

In order to scientifically support the process of forming rural tourism clusters in Ukraine it is important to develop both universal and end-use applied models relating to clusters of the type “the village rest” as well as rural tourism type. They are classified as follows: by the aim – as conceptual and applied ones, by structural peculiarities – as structural (institutional), structural-functional and factor (determinant). A multilevel universal model of the rural tourism cluster with basic structural levels: base, partner and accompanying ones is offered for research and practice. This model was approbated for two cluster initiatives in the Carpathian (a cluster of rural tourism “Boykivski Gazdy”) and Nadsiannia (a cluster Goat farm of “Fromages of d’Elise”) regions. Possibilities to use different types of research models in order to introduce cluster initiatives of the rural tourism in Ukraine on the regional and local levels are investigated.

This paper describes the arithmetic blocks based on Montgomery Multiplier (MM), which reduces complexity, gives lower power dissipation and higher operating frequency. The main objective in designing these arithmetic blocks is to use modified full adder structure and carry save adder structure that can be implemented in algorithm based MM circuit. The conventional full adder design acts as a benchmark for comparison, the second is the modified Boolean equation for full adder and third design is the design of full adder consisting of two XOR gate and a 2-to-1 Multiplexer. Besides Universal gates such as NOR gate and NAND gate, full adder circuits are used to further improve the speed of the circuit. The MM circuit is evaluated based on different parameters such as operating frequency, power dissipation and area of occupancy in FPGA board. The schematic designs of the arithmetic components along with the MM architecture are constructed using Quartus II tool, while the simulation is done using Model sim for verification of circuit functionality which has shown improvement on the full adder design with two XOR gate and one 2-to-1 Multiplexer implementation in terms of power dissipation, operating frequency and area.

Aim: The article discusses selected problems related to the functioning of universities at the turn of the century, with particular emphasis on the world of values and the master-student relationship. Methods: An analysis of selected scientific studies dedicated to the subject of higher education and education. Results: Based on the above analysis, there is anxiety about the status quo of this institution and anxiety about the master-student relationship. In the face of constant reforms of the university, the quality of these relations is also changing, while these relations are the foundation favoring or inhibiting creative work. Conclusions: Reforms are necessary and inevitable, but they should be accompanied by care for the world of universal values that should always be present in places such as universities. Therefore, it is worth initiating and conducting discussions on the values and relationships that build a modern university.

Opis:
Dynamic loads of the connecting bolts in a universal joint can greatly affect the bolt fatigue and fracture, as well as the machinery safety and stability. But few researches focused on those. To obtain the dynamic load characteristics of the connecting bolts in a universal joint, this paper established a flexible dynamic model for the connecting bolts. A multibody dynamic model of a universal joint is developed. The dynamic loads on the connecting bolts of the universal joint are analyzed. The influences of the preloads, speeds and loads are studied. The amplitude and frequency properities are obtained. The effect of the preload is small when the preload is in the range of 80%~120% of the standard value. The load and speed have great influence on the time- and frequency-domain dynamic loads of the bolts. The flexible dynamic model of the connecting bolt is closer to the actual situation than the rigid model since it can consider the preload and deformation of the bolts. This study can provide guidance for the fatigue life prediction of the universal shaft and its bolts.

Opis:
In European Union law, as well as in Polish law that implements European solutions, it is an accepted belief that a certain catalogue of postal services should be commonly available. Such services are referred to as a universal service (EU law) or universal services (Polish law). The provision of universal services may not be economically justifi able for postal operators, and thus there is a risk that such services would not be provided in a competitive market. The law thus defi nes procedures for the imposition of the obligation to provide universal services and the terms and conditions of universal services provision, including price policy restrictions. To refund costs of universal services provision, EU law contains rules on their fi nancing. Models prescribed in European directives should be implemented by EU member states. Poland’s new Postal law entered into force on 1 January 2013 and introduced a different model of universal services fi nancing. Previously, a subsidy from the state budget could be granted to the operator which provided universal services. After the implementation of the legislative changes, costs of universal services provision are to be covered directly by operators providing services within the scope of universal services, provided they achieve a legally specifi ed level of revenue, or from the state budget, if fi nancing by postal operators does not cover all costs. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the conformity of the model of universal services financing adopted in the new Polish Postal Act with the law of the European Union. The evaluation will be performed in light of postal sector legislation as well as provisions related to staid aid.

Opis:
Modern-day international declarations regarding education clearly prefer non-segregated schooling. Creating accessible learning environments has roots in universal design. Universal design should be based on building environments and creating products and services for all potential recipients regardless of their age, skills and abilities, cultural background or other individual characteristics. The concept of universal design puts a great emphasis both on diversity and on inclusion. Based on the analysis of the latest literature, the authors present the principles of universal design and their practical application in universal design for learning, that is, accessible education for all, including students with special educational needs; in particular: diversifying the means teachers use to present knowledge, diversifying the ways students express their knowledge, and diversifying the ways students and teachers engage. Progress makes it possible to provide non-segregated, mainstream education. It cannot be provided only through changes in the regulations, though - it should be a task shared by general and special education.

This paper presents the general principles of building a sailing yacht designed for people with multiple disabilities. Specific requirements for the crew on such vessels have been stressed. A lot of attention has been given to the possible disabilities of the design subjects and accessibility of the new yacht. The universal design method has been adopted to enable meeting ergonomic and rehabilitation requirements. We discuss selected stages of the design process: problem analysis, yacht construction and equipment. We discuss the influence of the type of disability on yacht use, in detail. Two tasks have been combined, that of a sailor with disabilities and that of a yacht. Both of them need to be taken into account in the socio-technical ‘sailor with disabilities - yacht’ system. A set of required yacht adaptations has been developed to meet the relationships in this system. Typical dangers in sailing on the Empatia 60 FD yacht are further enumerated. We provide a set of design rules for constructing dedicated yachts for the disabled and their practical use.

Universal motors are usually operated in AC mode and are controlled by means of triacs. This conventional solution is characterized by a cheap control hardware. On the other hand, it has some drawbacks. In particular the high peak to peak current gives poor motor efficiency and the consequential high brush temperature leads to limited motor lifetime. Significant improvements are obtained when using a more exacting converter. This paper presents the results obtained by using a diode rectifier and PWM controlled IGBT chopper. The RMS and peak-to-peak current of the motor are reduced, as well as electric losses and brush temperature. In addition, this operation mode enables increasing the motor output power or the motor lifetime. In order to reduce switching losses and electromagnetic interference of the converter, the assumed switching frequency is not higher than 1000 Hz.

Many museums in Poland and all over the world make use of mobile technologies. Unfortunately, neither Polish nor overseas applications offer universal solutions for users with different levels of knowledge and different disabilities. People with sight and hearing disabilities, as well as those physically handicapped, are very often culturally excluded, which means they are excluded from an important aspect of social life. As part of the project ‘OPENArt – Contemporary Art for All,’ a multimedia guide was developed in the form of an application for portable devices. It was designed in accordance with the participatory design methodology and principles of universal design. It facilitates access to works of art exposed to people with hearing and visual impairments. The application can be used to educate the blind, visually impaired, the deaf and hard of hearing, as well as people working with non-disabled children in arts and language classes. In the paper the innovative features of the guide were presented, and its educational values were characterized.

This paper presents Aristotle’s method of understanding the first principles of natural things in the Physics I.1 and analyzes the three stages of which this method consists. In the Physics I.1, Aristotle suggests that the natural proper route which one has to follow in order to find out the first principles of natural things is to proceed from what is clearer and more knowable to us to what is more knowable and clear by nature. In the Physics I.1, the terms καθόλου (universal) and καθ΄ ἕκαστα (particular) are not used in their usual meaning (e.g., the meaning which the same terms have in the Posterior Analytics I. 2). This paper examines the Physics I.1 in comparison with the Posterior Analytics II. 19 in order to elucidate the meaning of καθόλου in the first chapter of Aristotle’s Physics. Furthermore, it reaches the conclusion that the structure of the natural world to which we belong determines the structure and the form of our knowledge. On the one hand, natural things are composite and, on the other hand, perception is involved in the initial grasping of natural things as composites. Thus, since perceptual knowledge is more accessible to us than any other kind of knowledge it is natural to reach knowledge of simple things, i.e., of the principles, starting our inquiry with the composites.

Tourism has many dimensions. Travelling provides a huge opportunity for people with disabilities. Disabled people often feel the most comfortable in their place of residence, place of work, natural environment associated with their routine. This is due the fact that said environment has already been accessed and personalized to their special needs. The farther from their natural environment, the more barriers a disabled person faces. Tourism has a spatial character, therefore it is related to movement. People with disabilities have the same motivation for travelling as healthy people, however, their full participation is often limited by numerous architectural, organizational, or even mental barriers, connected with their own concerns. Meanwhile, the number of people with disabilities is growing. Disturbing is also the increasing number of people temporarily disabled after strokes or hearth attacks. Tourism by movement allows to eliminate the unpleasant consequences of disability in both physical and mental terms. The purpose of this article is to present the spatial aspect of tourism of people with disabilities, the barriers that they face while travelling and leaving their customized environment. Additionally, the paper presents the role of tourism in the process of social rehabilitation of the disabled and their activation with the rest of society.

Viewing religion as a product of evolution already has yielded a new and interesting hypotheses, which could help to integrate entire heritage of scientific study of religion. Nonetheless, there are some objections toward this program. First, despite the fact that evolutionary theories of religion are inherently interdisciplinary, its integration with sociological, anthropological and historical studies should be improve in the future. Second, phenomenological descriptions (that is individual religious experiences) are neglected by Darwinians. This fact could negatively affects explanatory potential of this approach. Finally, opponents of analyzed paradigm state that evolutionary hypotheses have still low level of confirmation. It stems from a small number of conducted empirical investigations on evolutionary roots of religion. Nevertheless, application of Darwinian tools to the study of religion remains a very promising scientific venture.

The paper looks at the concept of universal (unconditional) basic income. The poverty is one of those elements of social life that seems to be constant; various historical circumstances impacted its level, but it is hard to imagine a world without the poor. The evident shortcomings of current social services throughout the world led many academics to a favourable view of universal basic income system in which all citizens regularly receive a certain sum of money in addition to the income received from elsewhere. The author argues that since universal basic income is being considered as a replacement to the current means-tested welfare system the idea itself seems interesting.

A set of vertices D of a graph G is a distance 2-dominating set of G if the distance between each vertex u ∊ (V (G) − D) and D is at most two. Let γ2(G) denote the size of a smallest distance 2-dominating set of G. For any permutation π of the vertex set of G, the prism of G with respect to π is the graph πG obtained from G and a copy G′ of G by joining u ∊ V(G) with v′ ∊ V(G′) if and only if v′ = π(u). If γ2(πG) = γ2(G) for any permutation π of V(G), then G is called a universal γ2-fixer. In this work we characterize the cycles and paths that are universal γ2-fixers.

Ukazano ponadto podobieństwa i różnice w replikacjach uniwersalnego projektowania w kontekście edukacji (oprócz UDL: UDI – Universal Instructional Design i UDA – Universally Designed Assessments).
The goal of the article is to present the model of Universal Design as a key strategy for the development of inclusive education. Starting from the understanding of inclusion as a concern about high quality of the teaching-learning process for every student (not only those with disabilities), the principles of UDL are presented, referring to the postulates to ensure 1) multiple means of information representation during teaching activities, 2) multiple means of expression and presentation of educational achievements, and 3) multiple means of engagement and motivation to learn. Furthermore, similarities and differences in educational versions of universal design (in addition to UDL – UDI – Universal Instructional Design i UDA – Universally Designed Assessments) are shown. What comes to the fore is a broad understanding of the accessibility of learning - teaching process, going beyond the conditions of perceptual and physical accessibility. In this view, UDL can be treated as a set of guidelines on how to effectively organise the educational process in general (apart from the aspect of complying the special needs of students). At the same time, it must be remembered that this model does not constitute any algorithmic action. Responsiveness and flexibility of the teacher is inscribed in the essence of using universally designed materials in practice.

Background This paper presents an overview of a pilot study focused on testing the effectiveness of immersive virtual reality (VR) exercises, within extended reality experiences, in increasing awareness and empathy among university students towards pregnant women, elderly people, people in wheelchairs, and people with some sort of sight impairment. The extended reality experience was designed to simulate various scenarios that reflect the experiences of people from diverse backgrounds, to promote a better understanding of different perspectives and social issues related to some of the challenges tackled by people whose limitations are many times overlooked. Material and Methods A design-based research methodology was applied and qualitative and quantitative data were collected in samples of 20 students from 3 countries. Results Overall, the results suggest that immersive VR applications can be an effective tool in increasing awareness and empathy among higher education students. The use of VR technology can create a sense of presence and immersion that allows students to experience situations that they may not have encountered otherwise. The results attained with the immersive experiences have provided evidence that these solutions can foster a greater understanding of different perspectives and promote empathy towards individuals from diverse backgrounds. Conclusions Ongoing research correlated with the Mixed Reality on Universal Design’s Secret Service (Mr. UD) project results is already expanding on these findings by testing the effectiveness of VR applications in different contexts and with larger and more diverse samples. Additionally, the research conducted has provided relevant evidence that suggests that VR applications and their inclusion in training programs may help promote behavior change and reduce prejudice and discrimination towards marginalized groups.

Opis:
The potential benefits and risks of the introduction of universal basic income (UBI) are examined. UBI is considered as an alternative mechanism of social policy, the emergence of which is explained from the perspective of the crisis of contemporary social security systems. The aim of the study is to find out the prospects for the widespread introduction of UBI in modern social security systems under the crisis of the welfare state institution, as well as to assess whether UBI can be an effective response to current social challenges. The analysis is based on the methodology of neoinstitutionalism and case study. It is emphasised that the interest in UBI was caused by the inefficiency of the institution of the welfare state in the context of economic globalisation, technological advance (automation, robotisation of production) and increased under long-term quarantine restrictions in 2020-2021 with their devastating effect on national economies. The major approving and critical arguments with reference to the practical implementation of the UBI concept are systematised. The principal differences in pilot projects to provide UBI, from the standpoint of their goals and outcomes, are indicated. The potential ability of UBI to act as the latest philosophy of social policy in the era of globalisation, technological progress, pandemic challenges, etc. was proved. The need for public solidarity regarding the new social contract as a key prerequisite for the widespread implementation of UBI was highlighted.

Researchers of the behavior of adolescents from the so-called high-risk groups suggest that due to the high level of problem behaviors (e.g. drinking alcohol, smoking, drug use, violence) the most appropriate preventive work is the harm reduction approach, especially in the case of borderline behaviors such as alcohol use (Pisarska, Bobrowski, Greń, Ostaszewski, 2019: 343). Applying this type of strategy to illegal behavior such as drug use, especially NPS (the so-called legal highs) seems to be a bit more problematic. Meanwhile, the results of research on the reception (process evaluation) of the “Taste of Life Debate” preventive program scenario indicate that selected universal procedures, intended for young people with an average level of risk, can be successfully used in work with young people at risk, as long as they relate to behavior that is not normative in the social sense (such as using NPS). The work is a short comparison of evaluation results in the universal group and in the high-risk group.

The significance of principles of universal design and reasonable accommodation in design and construction of the built environment as contributors to rehabilitation outcomes for people with disabilities is determined by the following factors: - aging of population and growing share of people with disabilities; - evolution of principles and trends in social protection of people with disabilities from help and assistance toward active engagement in social and professional activity with full respect for and implementation of their rights; - economic impacts of reduced budgets for socially targeted programs and costs of retrofitting built environment to ensure inclusion for people with disabilities, and, hence, reduced tax burden on the economically active population. Thus, our research has shown that social exclusion of people with disabilities is determined for the most part (over 60%) by social and environmental factors, whereas biological and functional abilities contribution is limited to no more than 20%. Social and economic aspects, most importantly, the uptake of services provided, should be integrated into design and construction of the built environment. Furthermore, implementation of measures to create an inclusive environment based on the principles of universal design and reasonable accommodation calls for simultaneous expansion of a personalized approach for application of assistive technologies aimed at enhancing the physical independence of a person with disability through utilization of individual means of rehabilitation and social services.

The article presents the results of the evaluation of the relationship between the way of shaping public space related to ensuring sustainable mobility in the city and the experiences of users influencing the perceptible quality of life. The assessment was carried out for one of the medium-sized cities, which was included in the list of cities threatened with exclusion. The subject of the evaluation was the city multimodal centreorganised around the railway station in Nysa. The aim of the research was to identify a selected, small group of key challenges and recommendations aimed at improving user experience in using a multimodal centre in the city. The article highlights the role of service infrastructure (stops, stations, transfer centres) in the ecosystem of sustainable urban mobility. Each element of this ecosystem (designed in accordance with the idea of universal design) can have a significant impact on the improvement of the perceptible (declared) quality of life in the city, if the applied solutions positively influence the user’s experience (including the sense of comfort and care). The authors focused on the current state of play in order to identify the key areas of intervention needed to improve the user experience in using the multimodal centre in a small and medium sized city. Attention was paid not only to the aspect of infrastructure accessibility, but also to the relations between urban, architectural and engineering solutions in the context of their impact on the assessment of the multimodal centre in terms of its usefulness in three dimensions: functional, rational and perceptible. The summary outlines the process of achieving from the basic solution standard to interoperability. This knowledge will allow better decision making in the planning of user-oriented projects in the city. This may be of particular importance when the conscious objective of the action is to achieve the level of interoperability expected by users of facilities such as, inter alia, a multimodal centre, which is one element of an urban public space with a significant impact on the quality of life of the citizen.

This article aims to stir the problem of obstacles and inconveniences faced by people with disabilities (including with reduced mobility , elderly , deaf , visually impaired and blind). The aim is to draw attention to the role played by the designer , both the architect and creator of utilitarian objects in shaping the impact on the comfort of living together in society of people with a complete physical and disabled. The need for education and promote greater awareness of these " dysfunctions " should be developed through places where non-disabled person is able to face the everyday barriers disabled person. An important aspect is to create awareness architect in the field of universal design at the stage of studies. More attention should focus on the design of everyday objects for the disabled so as not to have to change them later by artificial means. The article focuses on the problems and the positive examples of solutions in the process of shaping the architecture tailored to the needs of such people. The aim is also analysis of urban solutions that favor their functioning in everyday life. The authors are also examples of architectural and urban planning from both the Polish and the world. They show the importance and contribution of the architect in creating private and public spaces that surround us every day.

Background Building law regulations determine designing the built environment recognising the needs of users of different ages and psychophysical abilities. Seniors and their spatial needs are covered there to a limited extent. The benchmark for design are wheelchair users. Their spatial requirements are greater in relation to independent walkers, including most older people. This makes it difficult to adapt the whole built environment to the needs of people with less mobility dysfunction. This can be considered in terms of spatial design and investment costs. Material and Methods The paper analyses the building regulations of 3 countries in terms of legal conditions to shape the architectural movement space of older people and disabled people. Analytical and comparative methods are used. Such research is becoming relevant and necessary. The analyses are conducted in the context of ageing populations. They are justified by statistical data on the age groups of Polish society. This is followed by design analyses of the legal requirements in the wheelchair movement space and proposals for alternatives, e.g., people walking with canes (case study). Their aim is to indicate methods to limit excessive communication spaces in buildings while maintaining functional values for all users. Results Research may show the possibility of greater diversification of regulations and alternatives to current laws. They are dedicated to participants in investment processes to shape accessible buildings. They can also be used in legislative work on amendments to the construction law. Conclusions Changes in building regulations and a detailed approach to the mobility needs of older and disabled people (walking independently) are proposed. These decisions can provide benefits (spatial and economic savings). They fall into the “design for all” trend and sustainability of the built environment. These demands are based on no longer valid normative regulations.

The purpose of the article is to indicate the particular importance of classifying the supply of energy as a service of general economic interest in the time of the recent increase in energy prices. The analysis of the characteristics of a service of general economic interest and a universal service, in particular, its price, allows to indicate the importance of it being competitive, easily and clearly comparable, transparent, and non-discriminatory. Selected actions and measures taken both at the EU level and at the national level – in the Federal Republic of Germany – are presented. These are actions and measures which are aimed at relieving end consumers from high prices and, on the other hand, creating an incentive to save electricity.

In this paper, we present the idea of using dynamic power estimation during the system-level design. A mixed-signal wireless IC with energy harvesting is used as an example of a device where power exploration and optimization plays a key role during the architecture planning. The novelty of this approach lies in introducing the activity profile for the mixed-signal chip as an important indicator of the power consumption that can drive the design phase. The method presented in this paper is based on modeling of the complete chip in order to apply it with a mixed-language Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) environment. It was decided to use the Verilog-D, SystemVerilog and Verilog-AMS languages to represent behavior of the digital and analog/mixed-signal parts of the chip.

Opis:
The article “Expressionistic Eidology: Paradigm of the Archetype” is part of the research project - “Expressionism in Ukrainian Literature”. The aim of the study is to highlight the archetype as an expressionistic and stylistic universal. Expressionism has been treated here primarily as poetics, with the focus on the aesthetic nature of the word and on the author’s spiritual intentions. The objective of the article has been to broaden and complement the scope of representations about theoretical fundamentals of expressionism in literature. It enhances the chance of a deeper understanding of the nature and character of this artistic phenomenon. First of all, it has been brought about by the shift of literary vectors in the axiological expressionistic paradigm from the universal, ontological basis and of the role of the phenomenon to social and historical grounds; consequently, it results in the of narrowing the semantic and chronological scope of expressionism. The methodological background of the research draws upon the studies by Ukrainian and European scholars such as V.Budny, O.Valtsel, H.G.Gadamer, C.P.Estes, M.Ilnytsky, U.Kovaliv, M.Moklytsia, R.Pihmanets, L.Ushkalov, I.Franko. The structural-typological method is used for writing this article. The key findings of the research comprise emphasis on expressionism as poetics with focus on the aesthetic nature of the word and the author’s spiritual intensions. The article highlights the idea of literary expressionism as a certain primal essence established in the profundity of human spirit, independent of conscious activity, and of social and historical conditions, but it is objectified via a human being (an artist) due to intensive inner work that is reflected in the fundamental changes of the structure of consciousness. The article underlines the paramount importance of the archetype for expressionism as a unique opportunity to reach the ultimate expression of feelings, emotions and experience concentrated in one entity as evidence that a person is receptive to mystical powers which create the universe and it proves that the celestial idea as a regulatory standard is hidden in expressionism. The Life-Death antinomy is represented as one of the dominant units in the archetypal system of expressionism; since it creates the most emotional intensity and increases the dynamics of the text. To support these ideas the phenomenological data from the works of Ukrainian prose writers such as Vasyl Stefanyk (1871-1936) and Valerian Pidmohylny (1901-1937) have been used. The results of the research focus on emphasizing one of the expressionistic universals such as the archetype, and on finding the motivational statement of this idea through analysis of V.Stefanyk and V. Pidmohylny’s conceptual foundations. The results of the research may be employed in the study of literary theory and history of literature as well as might be of use for further development of literary studies (for scholars and students). The novelty of the article includes recognition and evaluation of the archetype as one of the fundamental categories in literary expressionism.

Quantum graphs provide a setting to test the hypothesis that all ray-chaotic systems show universal wave chaotic properties. Here, an experimental setup consisting of a microwave coaxial cable network is used to simulate quantum graphs. The networks which are large compared to the wavelength, are constructed from coaxial cables connected by T junctions. The distributions of impedance statistics are obtained from experiments on an ensemble of tetrahedral networks. The random coupling model (RCM) is applied in an attempt to uncover the universal statistical properties of the system. Deviations from RCM predictions have been observed in that the statistics of diagonal and off-diagonal impedance elements are different. It is argued that because of the small finite-size quantum graphs utilized here there will be non-universal results.

Later we show that a natural generalization of Sierpiński's result for the uniform closure of the space of all sums of A and CA functions is not true. Namely we show that the uniform closure of the space of all sums of A and CA functions is a proper subclass of the space of all functions measurable with respect to the least class containing intersections of analytic and coanalytic sets and which is closed under countable unions (A and CA functions are analogues of lower and upper semicontinuous functions, respectively, when measurability with respect to open sets is replaced by that with respect to analytic sets).

Opis:
Pluralism of contemporary worldviews makes it challenging for Christianity to enter into a dialogue with different opinions, especially those relating to (non)existence of God and foundations of man’s life. Such a discussion is also difficult with the atheist, agnostic and religiously ambivalent circles. The source of this discourse lays in the human nature, which strives for unity with others, and in Christ’s Great Commission. Moreover, the evolution of contemporary world, a peculiar spiritual crisis of many and effectively a crisis of human identity, rules, priorities and values demands a firm voice on the supernatural dimension of human’s life, on the authentic and healthy humanism and on the value of universal virtues, especially when it comes to life, health, mutual respect and culture. Thus, the Church is called to accommodate people that are outside of its moral or formal structures. This results from the nature of its mission and prevents it from becoming a marginal group seen as a cult, as a historic relic or as an organisation limiting man's freedom. Therefore, it becomes necessary to organise various meetings relating to the “Courtyard of Gentiles” or “Courtyard Dialogue.” This is also an opportunity to pick up healthy Christian apologetic, which is necessary because of the nature of faith itself, and to confront the dogmatic atheism which is more and more aggressive towards religion, especially towards Catholicism. Dialogue of the faithful with the gentiles is necessary. It also encourages exploring of the world and facilitates common existence in the society. For the baptised the perspective of evangelisation and the true respect for their interlocutors are equally important.

The time of the coronavirus pandemic and the COVID-19 disease was an opportunity to ask anew many questions concerning interpersonal relations. In this context, Pope Francis tries to take up the therapy of fraternity in order to effectively and consistently contrast the “globalization of indifference” with the “globalization of fraternity and solidarity.” The aim of this article is to show the essence of fraternity in the teaching of Pope Francis (before the publication of papal encyclical letter Fratelli tutti about fraternity) in the context of the teaching of the Catholic Church. The article presents the biblical roots of fraternity as well as its inclinations in the Magisterium of the Second Vatican Council and subsequent popes. The reinterpretation of the term “fraternity” in Francis’ thought includes: the “mysticism of the fraternity,” its inter-religious and social character, its global fraternity on the level of bioethics and ecology, and its connection to the “theory of contradictions” (Germ.: Gegensatz), which the Pope took from R. Guardini.

In reply to Ed P. Sanders’s thesis we state that Romans 2 does not show inconsistencies within itself, neither with the immediate context, nor with other places in the Epistle. We prove it mainly by analyzing formal subjects in the text. Inconsistencies in Romans 2 were the main reason leading Sanders to the conclusion that chapter 2 derives from the homiletical material of Diaspora Judaism (a synagogue sermon). We don’t rule out this possibility altogether but we point out that his arguments supporting the hypothesis are not sufficient and require additional proofs.

Aktywa systemu bankowego stanowią ponad 300% PKB Niemiec.
The German banking system is a permanent building site, whose main task is to adjust to the needs of the market. German banks, as the main source of raising foreign funds for the realization of investments, are the motor force behind the country’s economy. The sector of universal banks plays the greatest role; it is formed by commercial, public and cooperative banks. Commercial banks, especially the four big banks, are active both at home and abroad. A significant role is also played by savings banks and credit cooperatives that in their activities are focused on financing small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as support the idea of saving. The assets of the banking system constitute more than 300% of the German GNP.

The lack of empathy towards disability is a significant societal issue that hampers inclusivity and understanding. Many struggle to comprehend the daily challenges and experiences faced by people with disabilities, leading to ignorance, prejudice, and exclusion. However, empathy plays a pivotal role in addressing this problem and serves as the foundation for developing and creating better products, services, and environments. This article explores the potential of developing virtual reality (VR) applications to enhance students’ empathy towards individuals with disabilities. By increasing empathy levels, students are expected to gain significant qualifications in universal design (UD). The full application development process covers the most suitable head-mounted display (HMD) set. The implementation methodology using the Unity programming platform, the approach adopted for conducting classes using the developed VR application, and the deployment stage. Testing was successfully conducted on a student population, receiving positive user feedback. Through the integration of VR technology, the authors thoroughly describe how to address the empathy gap and equip students with essential skills for inclusive and accessible design. The findings presented in this study provide valuable guidance for educators and developers interested in harnessing VR’s potential to foster empathy and advance universal design practices. With the presented methodology and proposed application, the authors demonstrate the effectiveness of VR applications in elevating students’ empathy levels, consequently enhancing their qualifications in universal design.

Opis:
Essentially, the groundwork for democratic societal development and the fulfilment of man’s humane mission is laid by ethically guided education. Both in Masaryk’s and in Comenius’ thought, humaneness is a concrete expression conceptualised as a relational category. They both perceive its positive aspects, which are in complete contrast to selfish egoism. Their humaneness lacks the background of hate and hostility. Such a conception of humaneness might be construed as conciliation and resignation, yet the opposite is true. Positive humaneness is effective through its activeness, through its endeavour to help someone and make something happen. It is a societal category fostering the ground for new human coexistence, wise thought and competent handling of human affairs.

Opis:
While the mystical expression “to see beyond” allows John Paul II to “trace the direction” for the development of a new canonical hermeneutic, apt for assuming the great missionary challenges of the of the third millennium, the normative novelty introduced by him and the methodological direction dealt by him allow his conviction, that the Church is “a house and school of communion”, to become the programmatic force of all the structural reforms initiated by him. This reform of the Church, which is “communio Ecclesiarum”, in its communion and missionary aspects, finds its central core at the level of the relationships between the universal law and the particular law. Or rather, it is precisely the so called “corpus iuris commune” that, thanks to John Paul II’s methodological and hermeneutic direction, can redefine the specific and interactive functions existing between universal canon law and particular canon law: the first must guarantee the unity, without reducing it to uniformity: the second instead should guarantee the plurality, without falling into particularism

Constructivism is a very complex and ambiguous concept, whereas the constructivist approach is mostly presented in three main aspects: ontological and epistemological (conditions and capabilities of reality existence and cognition), psychological (mental processes of knowledge constructing) and pedagogical (processes of learning and creating concepts). In this article I am searching the answer to two basic questions, the first one reading: What are the potential results of the constructivist approach in connection with diversity pedagogy and inclusion learning for education and the functioning of schools? The posthuman critique of social constructivism formulates the second of the questions I want to answer in the text: how can the constructivist approach cooperate with some new contemporary social theories, especially the new realism (materialism) and pedagogy of things? Employing the Piagetian concept of decentration, I take a critical look at how and in what sense constructivism could influence the change of meanings ascribed to categories like norm(s), learning difficulties or special educational needs, as well as reformulate the general philosophy of education and eventually affect the functioning of schools as accessible learning environments.

The category of group-graded modules over an abelian group $G$ is a monoidal category. For any bicharacter of $G$ this category becomes a braided monoidal category. We define the notion of a Lie algebra in this category generalizing the concepts of Lie super and Lie color algebras. Our Lie algebras have $n$-ary multiplications between various graded components. They possess universal enveloping algebras that are Hopf algebras in the given category. Their biproducts with the group ring are noncommutative noncocommutative Hopf algebras some of them known in the literature. Conversely the primitive elements of a Hopf algebra in the category form a Lie algebra in the above sense.

Opis:
The aim of this article is to show which generative mechanisms are responsible for establishing a control relationship between syntactic structures. As a theoretical basis, the Movement Theory of Control by Hornstein was chosen because it has already been tested in numerous languages and has universal character. Its applicability was exemplified by some data of subject and object control in German. For this purpose, some derivations have been outlined. In addition, difficulties that this theory encounters were pointed out. For example, in the derivation of subject control over object, as it exists in the case of promise-verbs.

The article outlines a universal and selective prevention program aiming at weakening the risk factors – child peer rejection and the emergence and prevalence of a low skills stereotype. It is based on the cooperation of researchers with pairs of faculty members teaching in the same 4th grade: the class host and a Polish, math or a foreign language teacher. The goal of this cooperation is to create better psychosocial development conditions in interactions with teachers and peers, diminishing the sense of helplessness during Polish and math classes, the risk of stereotypes and the school– and learning-re-lated stress. The results of the seven-month cooperation will be assessed through research conducted in 18 classes randomly assigned to the trial group (9 classes) and the control group (9 classes). The pretest, after-test and the measurement of results extended for a year after the conclusion of the program will include students with the after-test covering also teachers. The socio-economic status of students’ families will be the variable controlled for.

The purpose of this article is to formulate and structure the many goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development related to transport and to review the dynamics of changes in indicators of achievement in the Republic of Belarus of those related to safety. The article used methods of collecting and analyzing information with statistical tools using specialized software. The main results are the formation of the many Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda related to transport and their structuring. Statistical models have also been obtained showing the dynamics of changes in SDGs related to safety. The study shows how the application of methods of analysis, structuring and statistical data processing can assess the reachability of SDG and, thereby, establish the main places of application of efforts to achieve SDG for transport.

Opis:
On September 25, 2015, UN member states adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It contains 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Two SDG targets are directly transport-related. Target 3.6: By 2020 to halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents. Target 11. 2: Aims to, by 2030, provide access to safe, affordable, accessible and sustainable transport systems for all, improving road safety, notably by expanding public transport, with special attention to the needs of those in vulnerable situations - women, children, persons with disabilities and older persons. There are other goals, the achievement of which is impossible without the development of transport. All SDGs related to transport are conventionally divided into 4 groups: safety, universal access, efficiency, green mobility. The purpose of this article is to review the dynamics of changes in the Republic of Belarus of indicators for achieving the goals of the universal access group.

This paper gathers Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s selected statements relating to the reception of his most significant work of art The Red Wheel. The conditions of “proper reading” are depicted in Solzhenitsyn’s interviews, journalistic texts and fragments of the narrative included in his epic. The author of the paper explores the writer’s requirements that concern the influence of literature and a reader’s response to the historical novel. The reconstruction of Solzhenitsyn’s model reception also enables to define the writer’s attitude towards his reader. The author of The Red Wheel believes in the social role of literature and the universal meaning of a literary text concentrated on truth, thus Solzhenitsyn’s approach stresses the ethical dimension of literature and the figure of writer as a guide.

Professional ethics of teachers is one of the most important areas of interest of pedeutology. Not only traditions of that profession, but also the contemporary challenges facing it seem to be indicative of it. In the considerations presented, professional ethics of teachers is shown from two perspectives, i.e. the universal and the pluralistic ones. Each of these perspectives is characterized by diverse understanding of professional ethics of teachers and, in particular, its nature. Generally speaking, the first of these perspectives can come down to the establishment of professional ethics of teachers in the form of a code, while the other moves away from such a strictly code-orientated perception of ethics. Certainly, this does not mean a rejection of any ethical stipulations characteristic of teacher circles, but rather adopting a position according to which such exclusive and only correct stipulations do not exist, but there are a lot of them, which one should bear in mind characterizing the ethical aspects of the teaching profession.

The local structure of homogeneous continua (curves) is studied. Components of open subsets of each homogeneous curve which is not a solenoid have the disjoint arcs property. If the curve is aposyndetic, then the components are nonplanar. A new characterization of solenoids is formulated: a continuum is a solenoid if and only if it is homogeneous, contains no terminal nontrivial subcontinua and small subcontinua are not ∞-ods.
