The processing is burnishing one from the methods of processing finishing off the metals, depending on utilization the local plastic deformation, produced in top layer of object as a result of definite, meeting co-operation hard the and smooth tool from worked surface. The plastic deformations are called out by arrangement of strengths causing the superficial crossing the value of tension pressures of the making plastic material worked. Set them on cold causing except moving the unevenness also the cold work in top layer of worked object. The effect of moving ("flowing") the unevenness of surface, as a result of influence on worked surface smooth the and hard tool, it is the decrease of roughness of surface worked, however the effect the cold work - the principal change of property of top layer object. Phenomena these, though they step out the most often simultaneously, can have different intensity, according from demanded main effect of processing. It can be with main aim of applying processing the burnishing in technology of machines: the smoothness processing - the definite decrease the height not the equality of surface after previous processing burnishing; the strengthening processing - the producing of definite changes of physical properties of material in top layer of object, causing immunizing him on working such exploational factors how fatigue, abrasive waste, corrosion and different; the processing the dimensional - smoothness - the definite enlargement the dimension exactitude from simultaneous decrease to required value the roughness of surface. The determination of influence of technological parameters process burnishing on quality of surface of rolls from stainless and unalloyed steel is the aim of work.

Opis:
We study smoothness spaces generated by maximal functions related to the local approximation errors of integral operators. It turns out that in certain cases these smoothness classes coincide with the spaces $C^α_p(ℝ^d)$, 0 < p≤∞, introduced by DeVore and Sharpley [DS] by means of the so-called sharp maximal functions of Calderón and Scott. As an application we characterize the $C^α_p(ℝ^d)$ spaces in terms of the coefficients of wavelet decompositions.

Opis:
The extortions that result in the vibrations of a hull of the combat vehicle have an impact on the tracked combat vehicle during the off-road driving. They may have a negative impact on the crew, internal equipment, shooting accuracy. A level of the hull loads depends on quality of the suspension system, which main responsibility consists in minimising an amplitude of the vibrations. Therefore, it is necessary both to improve a structure of the suspension system, and its components, as well as their optimisation. The tests of the driving smoothness of the vehicle and quality of the suspension elements can be realised both within a frame of the model tests and while driving in the real conditions. The assessment criteria of the driving smoothness are directly related to the negative influence of the vibrations to the human body. The suspension quality should be assumed both upon an execution of the vehicle prototype, and during the design or modernisation phase. It results both in reducing the time, and minimisation of the costs and risk related to the structure development. The model tests enable to evaluate the driving smoothness and comfort prior to an execution of the prototype. The tests on the test tracks in the final phase of the development are carried out in order to evaluate the driving smoothness.

Opis:
One of the most common problems in the process of traffic management is the determination of the proper traffic volume. On the one hand there is a tendency of increasing traffic volume - it brings profits to all subjects involved in the transportation process. On the other hand there is a tendency to decrease traffic volume – it assures better safety. It is necessary to solve the problem of finding a compromise between those tendencies. Solving this problem is possible, based on developed methods of safety dimensioning that use the concept of traffic smoothness for quantitative evaluation of traffic safety level. In the paper the concept of those methods is explained. Besides, presented are results of simulation research on the relation between traffic smoothness and the safety level in a restricted control sector. Although the paper presents the implementation (examples) of the problem in the air traffic management, similar procedures and methods may be applied to the marine traffic.
Jednym z najważniejszych problemów w procesie zarządzania ruchem jest kwestia wyznaczenia właściwego natężenia ruchu. Z jednej strony pojawia się tendencja do zwiększania ruchu - daje to korzyści (zyski) wszystkim podmiotom biorącym udział w procesie transportowym. Z drugiej jednak strony pojawia się dążenie do zmniejszenia ruchu – co zapewnia większe bezpieczeństwo. Konieczne jest więc rozwiązanie problemu wyznaczenia kompromisowej wielkości ruchu. Możliwe staje się to w oparciu o opracowanie metod wymiarowania bezpieczeństwa, bazujących na pojęciu płynności ruchu, dlatego możliwe jest liczbowe wyrażenie poziomu bezpieczeństwa. W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję tych metod oraz wyniki symulacyjnego badania zależności płynności i poziomu bezpieczeństwa w ograniczonym sektorze kontroli. Podano implementację przykładu w zarządzaniu ruchem lotniczym, ale podobne procedury i metody mogą być używane także w ruchu morskim.

Opis:
The dynamic response of a nonlinear system is very sensitive to initial conditions. Both the irrational nonlinearity and the large displacement of a smooth and discontinuous (SD) oscillator have been studied in this paper. An experimental study has been conducted on a model of the SD oscillator with different initial conditions and smoothness parameters. Experimental results indicate that tiny variation in the initial displacement will lead to different kinds of vibrations, and the system exhibits a wide range of nonlinear dynamical phenomena with the change of smoothness parameters. All experimental results are in good conformity with numerical simulation results.

Opis:
In numerically controlled grinding of aeroengine blades, a sharp change in a rotating shaft caused by a singular zone greatly reduces grinding precision and quality. This paper proposes an algorithm to optimize the tool-path that combines optimization of the C-axis rotation angle, a modification to the tool orientation and adjustments to the tool position by taking a four-array machine tool with two rotational axes (B-axis and C-axis) as an example. The algorithm was verified using VERICUT software, furthermore, in machining experiments, the rotation amplitudes of the rotary axis in singular areas was effectively reduced, which ensured grinding quality of blades.

Let [formula] be a nornied space. We deal here with a function s : X x X —> R given by the formula [formula] (for x = 0 we must define it separately). Then we take two unit vectors x and y such that y is orthogonal to x in the Birkhoff-James sense. Using these vectors we construct new functions Φx,y which are defined on R. If X is an inner product space, then Φx, y = sin and, therefore, one may call this function a generalization of the sine function. We show that the properties of this function are connected with geometrical properties of the normed space X.

Even though the description of the universe in cosmology is known to be given by a smooth 4-dimensional Lorentz manifold for energies below Planck scale, one still can ask about the origins of this phenomenon. In this paper we show that mathematics used for description of quantum systems at micro scale determines smoothness of spacetime at large cosmological scales and indicates the dimension 4 as the only possible dimension for spacetime.

This paper presents a heuristic procedure for assigning assembly tasks to workstations where both productivity and ergonomics issues are considered concurrently. The procedure uses Kilbridge and Wester’s algorithm to obtain an initial task–workstation assignment solution which minimizes the balance delay of an assembly line. A task reassignment algorithm was applied to improve the initial solution by exchanging assembly tasks, which smooth postural load among workers, between workstations. A composite index of variation was used to measure the effectiveness of the task–workstation assignment solution. On the basis of clothes assembling, it was found that the task–workstation assignment solution with a minimum composite index of variation can be obtained with relatively equal weights in balance delay and postural load.

Number of disrupted vehicles is a variable, which can be basis to calculate of traffic smoothness function. Therefore definition of phenomenon of traffic disruption is needed. It make possible to define a number of vehicles disrupted. In the article has been presented the attempt of definition of vehicle disrupted for on-ramps of highway.

Na procesy decyzyjne użytkowników systemu transportowego istotny wpływ mają indywidualne odczucia związane z przemieszczaniem się w sieci drogowo-ulicznej. Subiektywny charakter może mieć również pojęcie „ruchu płynnego”. Postrzeganie płynności ruchu jest zależne zarówno od typu użytkownika, jego preferencji i rodzaju podróży, jak i parametrów technicznych oraz lokalizacji drogi. Badania prowadzone w tym zakresie mogą zatem stanowić jeden z etapów budowy modelu opisującego funkcję płynności ruchu drogowego, która będzie uzupełnieniem mierników ilościowych i jakościowych ruchu. W artykule, oprócz prezentacji stanu zagadnienia, przedstawiono i porównano wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych wśród mieszkańców aglomeracji górnośląskiej oraz Bielska-Białej dotyczących postrzegania warunków ruchu miejskiego w kontekście pojęcia płynności ruchu. Odpowiedzi na pytania postawione w ankiecie dają obraz tego, jak rozumiane jest przez kierowców i pasażerów transportu indywidualnego pojęcie ruchu płynnego oraz, które czynniki odbierane są przez nich jako istotnie pogarszające ruch płynny. Może to stanowić przyczynek do rozszerzenia modelu podziału modalnego o czynnik uwzględniający wybór systemu transportowego ze względu na płynność ruchu.
Transportation system users’ perception of traffic conditions has a significant influence on decisions they make connected with performing travel and consequently on their travel behaviour. Therefore, results of research in this field provide information useful for building and calibrating travel model. Traffic conditions may be described using various measures, both quantitative (i.e. delay, length of queues, indices of stoppages) and qualitative (level of service). Transportation system users’ decision processes depend on individual insights connected with travelling on the street network. Also, ‘smooth traffic’ may be a subjective term. Perception of traffic smoothness depends on the type of user, his or her preferences, type of travel, technical parameters and road’s location. Research conducted in this field may be therefore one of the stages of building a model describing road traffic smoothness function, which may be a supplement of qualitative and quantitative measures. In this article – besides the presentation of the state of the art – also results of surveys conducted among inhabitants of the Upper Silesian metropolitan area and Bielsko-Biała regarding the perception of urban traffic conditions in the context of traffic smoothness have been presented. Answers to questions in the survey provide an idea how drivers and passengers of private means of transport understand the term ‘smooth traffic’ and which factors significantly worsen smooth traffic. This may be a contribution to extend the modal split models by a factor taking into account the choice of the transport system due to the flow of traffic.

We first prove that the property of strict monotonicity of a~K\"othe space \((E,\|.\|_E)\) and\slash or of its K\"othe dual \((E',\|.\|_{E'})\) can be used successfully to compare the supports of \(x\in E\backslash\{\theta\}\) and \(y\in S(E')\), where \(=\|x\|_E\). Next we prove that any element \(x\in S_{+}(E)\) with \(\mu(T\backslash\operatorname{supp} x)=0\) is a~point of order smoothness in \(E\), whenever \(E\) is an order continuous K\"othe space. Finally, we present formulas for the characteristic of monotonicity of Orlicz function spaces endowed with the Orlicz norm in the case when the generating Orlicz function does not satisfy suitable \(\Delta_2\)-condition or the measure is non-atomic infinite, and some lower and upper estimates for the characteristic of monotonicity of this spaces when the measure is non-atomic and finite.

Many hypersurfaces ω in R^N can be viewed as a subset of the boundary Γ of an open subset Ω of R^N. In such cases, the gradient and Hessian matrix of the associated oriented distance function ba to the underlying set Ω completely describe the normal and the N fundamental forms of ω, and a fairly complete intrinsic theory of Sobolev spaces on C1'1-hypersurfaces is available in Delfour (2000). In the theory of thin shells, the asymptotic model only depends on the choice of the constitutive law, the midsurface, and the space of solutions that properly handles the loading applied to the shell and the boundary conditions. A central issue is the minimal smoothness of the midsurface to still make sense of asymptotic membrane shell and bending equations without ad hoc mechanical or mathematical assumptions. This is possible for a C1'1-midsurface with or without boundary and without local maps, local bases, and Christoffel symbols via the purely intrinsic methods developed by Delfour and Zolesio (1995a) in 1992. Anicic, LeDret and Raoult (2004) introduced in 2004 a family of surfaces ω that are the image of a connected bounded open Lipschitzian domain in R² by a bi-Lipschitzian mapping with the assumption that the normal field is globally Lipschizian. >From this, they construct a tubular neighborhood of thickness 2h around the surface and show that for sufficiently small h the associated tubular neighborhood mapping is bi-Lipschitzian. We prove that such surfaces are C1'1-surfaces with a bounded measurable second fundamental form. We show that the tubular neighborhood can be completely described by the algebraic distance function to ω and that it is generally not a Lipschitzian domain in R³ by providing the example of a plate around a flat surface ω verifying all their assumptions. Therefore, the G1-join of K-regular patches in the sense of Le Dret (2004) generates a new K-regular patch that is a C1'1-surface and the join is C1'1. Finally, we generalize everything to hypersurfaces generated by a bi-Lipschitzian mapping defined on a domain with facets (e.g. for sphere, torus). We also give conditions for the decomposition of a C1'1-hypersurface into C1'1-patches.

In urban networks, with dense traffic flows and a high risk of the disruption (even in the form of a short queue of vehicles) the probability of occurrence of such a situation (disruption and queue) is a better measure of the probabilistic description of the capacity constraints than the expected waiting time in the queue, because the probability takes into account the risk of delay in the traffic flow from the point of view of the person that plans a trip. The functions of expected smoothness of the traffic flows in the elementary nodes and the expected waiting time in the queue for different packages of ITS services have been presented in the mathematical forms.

W artykule podjęto próbę oceny tego czy i w jakim zakresie jakość zysku determinuje przydatność wyniku finansowego dla prognozowania ceny akcji (stopy zwrotu) w warunkach polskiego rynku kapitałowego. Dla oceny jakości zysku wykorzystano wskaźniki oparte na czterech jego atrybutach, tj. trwałości, zdolności predykcyjnej, stopniu wygładzania zysku oraz stabilności. Wyniki badania oparte na szerokiej próbie obejmującej wszystkie niefinansowe spółki notowane na GPW w Warszawie w latach 2009–2016 pozwoliły potwierdzić pozytywny wpływ, jaki wywiera jakości zysku na badaną zależność. Należy jednak podkreślić, że siła tego wpływu jest zmienna w czasie i zależy od przynależności sektorowej badanej spółki.
The paper examines whether and how earnings quality affects the returns-earnings relationship taking into consideration four earnings attributes including persistence, predictability, smooth ness and stability. For a large sample of non-financial firms listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange over the period 2009–2016, the study showed that earnings quality has a positive influence on the tested relationship. Moreover, the nature (parameters) of the returns/earnings relation exhibits considerable instability over time and across sectors.

Opis:
In the paper are presented results of a research work concerning automotive spark ignition engine fueled with ethyl alcohol. The research was performed on a Fiat 1100 MPI engine adapted to dual fuel feeding. Injection of ethyl alcohol was accomplished in area near inlet valve with use of original injectors, the same as used in case of gasoline feeding. The subject-matter of the study was to compare smoothness of engine operation fueled with alcohol in relation to parameters of the engine fueled traditionally with gasoline. There were analyzed combustion parameters calculated on the basis of recorded indicated diagrams of successive individual combustion cycles and averaged diagrams of successive 50 cycles. Performed investigations are pointing at smooth engine operation running on neat alcohol, and on improvement of performance parameters such as effective power and overall efficiency.

The article presents the possibility of Catia v5 professional system for the analysis of surface quality and manufacturability of products for surface characteristics. Specific tools of the program, their opportunities are described on the example of an advanced model of the car mirror housing. We presented ways to repair the defective surface sheets.

We shall characterize the weak nearly uniform smoothness of the \(\psi\)-direct sum \((X_1\oplus \dots\oplus X_N)_\psi\) of \(N\) Banach spaces \(X_1,\dots,X_N\), where \(\psi\) is a convex function satisfying certain conditions on the convex set \(\Delta_N = \{(s_1 ,\dots , s_{N-1})\in \mathbb{R}_+^{N-1} : \sum_{i=1}^{N-1} s_i \leq 1\). To do this a class of convex functions which yield \(\ell_1\)-like norms will be introduced. We shall apply our result to the fixed point property for nonexpansive mappings (FPP). In particular an example will be presented which indicates that there are plenty of Banach spaces with FPP failing to be uniformly non-square.
