Opis:
The hulls of naval ships are exposed to forces and moments coming from internal and external sources. Usually, these are interactions that can be described mathematically by harmonic and polyharmonic functions. The shock of UNDEX type (underwater explosion) works completely differently and its time waveform is difficult to describe with mathematical functions as pressure vs. time. The paper presents a simplification of physical and mathematical models of 1-D kickoff pressure whose aim is performance the simulation of the external force of the detonation wave. The proposed models were verified and tuned on naval, sea trials. The main goals of the proposed models are to perform simulation calculations of the detonation pressure for different explosion charge weights from different distances of the UNDEX epicentre for the design process of machine foundation. The effects of pressure are transformed as impulses exposed on shock absorber mounted at light shock machine.

Opis:
In this paper we consider dependent Critical Infrastructures (CI) at variable operation conditions and present multistate approach to their safety analysis. The safety of dependent Critical Infrastructures at variable operation conditions is described. The local, equal and mixed load sharing models of dependency subjected to the operation process are introduced. The conditional safety functions at the particular operation states and the unconditional safety functions of a multistate series network with dependent assets, with dependent subnetworks and with dependent assets of its subnetworks according to LLS, ELS and MLS rules are determined. Furthermore, the all models of dependency are applied to safety analysis of a multistate parallel and “m out of n” network with dependent assets, parallel-series and “m out of l”-series network with dependent assets of their subnetworks at variable operation conditions.

This paper presents procedure methodology allowing to evaluate the impact of vertical acceleration (mine detonation under the vehicle) for damages of backbone of the crew member This problem is presented globally with stress on model being the estimator of the backbone damages. Then this study includes standard requirements in this field and discusses the necessary instrumentation and then method for development of model input data is indicated. the vertical impact model is presented on example. The mechanisms allowing to evaluate the level of potential injuries are presented in the final part in this paper. The range of problems concerning metrology of physical values associating explosion and evaluation of its impact on the human body is very wide. Problems discussed in this paper do not exhaust this field. The research are under way on several topics for their more full recognition. Development of this field will be correctly used, having in mind the aspect and usefulness of such research. The main criterion for evaluation of explosion impact on people protected by armour of the vehicle is the measurement of physical and mechanical values occurring during explosion. The high accelerations and pressures constitute serious danger for health and life of people. Tests are necessary to determine effectiveness of the crew's protection both in vehicles and in other objects.

The main aim of the paper is to define the operation and climate change influence on the safety of a critical infrastructure considered as a complex system in its operating environment. As the result, a general safety analytical model of a complex technical system under the influence of the operation process related to climateweather change process is proposed. Further, the conditional safety functions at the operation process related to climate-weather change process, the unconditional safety function and the risk function of the complex system at changing in time operation and climate-weather conditions are defined. Moreover, the mean lifetime up to the exceeding a critical safety state, the moment when the risk function value exceeds the acceptable safety level, the intensities of ageing of the critical infrastructure and its components and the coefficients of the operation and climate-weather impact on the critical infrastructure and its components intensities of ageing are proposed as the other significant safety indices for any critical infrastructure.

The main aim of the paper is the adaptation of the known methods for safety modelling related to the operation process for Baltic Port and Shipping Critical Infrastructure Network. To realize this goal, the description of the four critical infrastructure networks, i.e. Baltic Port, Shipping, Ship traffic and port operation, and finally Baltic Port and Shipping are provided. The basic notations for operation process and multi-state CIN safety analysis for them are introduced. Furthermore, the Baltic Port and Shipping Critical Infrastructure Network safety function and its risk function are proposed. The practically significant critical infrastructure network safety indices like mean lifetime up to the exceeding a critical safety state, the moment when the risk function value exceeds the acceptable safety level, the component and critical infrastructure network intensities of ageing/degradation and the coefficients of operation impact on component and critical infrastructure network intensities of ageing are presented for four CIs considered in the paper.

Opis:
In the present paper, a numerical study on the influence of strain hardening on the Critical Impact Velocity (CIV) in tension is conducted. Finite element code ABAQUS/Explicit is used to carry out numerical simulations of dynamic tension tests in a wide range of impact velocities up to that corresponding to the CIV. The constitutive relation due to Rusinek and Klepaczko (2001) has been used to define the material behaviour. Strain hardening parameters of the RK model were varied during the simulations. Numerical results are compared with those obtained from the analytical description of CIV proposed by Klepaczko (2005). Satisfactory agreement is found between numerical and analytical approaches. The analysis allows for a better understanding of the causes responsible of the CIV appearance.
Praca przedstawia numeryczną analizę wpływu umocnienia odkształceniowego na krytyczną prędkość uderzenia (CIV) przy rozciąganiu. W symulacjach zastosowano oprogramowanie ABAQUS/Explicit oparte na metodzie elementów skończonych. Obliczeń dokonano dla dynamicznych obciążeń rozciągających w szerokim zakresie prędkości uderzenia aż do osiągnięcia wartości krytycznej (CIV). Do opisu materiału próbki użyto równań konstytutywnych modeli Rusinka-Klepaczki. Podczas analizy zmieniano parametry umocnienia odkształceniowego opisanego tym modelem. Wyniki symulacji numerycznych porównano z analitycznym opisem CIV zaproponowanym przez Klepaczkę (2005). Uzyskano zadawalającą zgodność pomiędzy symulacją a teorią. Przedstawiona analiza przyczynia się do lepszego zrozumienia zjawisk odpowiedzialnych za powstawanie krytycznej prędkości uderzenia (CIV).

Composite panels, for example fuselage skins or wing skins of military aircraft, may be subjected to a variety of ballistic impacts. It is meaningful to understand the mechanical response, damage evolution and residual velocity of a projectile for panels under ballistic impact. In this paper, the numerical simulation method of ballistic impact on a laminated composite panel is considered. A rate-dependent material model based on the continuum damage mechanics concept is developed for polymer matrix composite materials. A full three-dimensional finite element model implemented with the material model is built up using material subroutine. The ballistic impact behavior is simulated employing an explicit dynamic finite element analysis technique. The effects of projectile size and velocity, layup of the composite panel, and failure criteria used on the ballistic impact response are investigated.

In modern engineering materials used for creating effective ballistic shields, the issues of evaluation of their energy consumption are extremely important. The paper presents a new way of solving this problem using a certain degenerate model with dry friction. This metod involves the use of specially derived identification equations which describe the decrease in potential energy of the system during its vibratory motion induced by a single pulse load. Analytical considerations have been verified using a computer simulation technique for selected examples.

We propose a method of constructing multisector-multiregion input-output tables, based on the standard multisector tables and the tools of spatial econometrics. Voivodship-level (NUTS-2) and subregion-level data (NUTS-3) on sectoral value added is used to fit a spatial model, based on a modification of the Durbin model. The structural coefficients are calibrated, based on I-O multipliers, while the spatial weight matrices are estimated as parsimoniously parametrised functions of physical distance and limited supply in certain regions. We incorporate additional restrictions to derive proportions in which every cross-sectoral flow should be interpolated into cross-regional flow matrix. All calculations are based on publicly available data. The method is illustrated with an example of regional economic impact assessment for a generic construction company located in Eastern Poland.
