Opis:
This paper aims to generate a clear understanding of Pakistan’s important attributes and their direct and indirect influence via perceived destination images on international tourists’ intentions to visit for a holiday. It employed quantitative research methods through the use of a correlation research design. Both direct and indirect effects of destination attributes on visit intentions were examined and a self-administered online survey was distributed across several social media platforms. The results of multiple regression analysis revealed that landscape, services, local attitudes toward tourists, safety and risk, sport and special events were found to be statistically significant predictors of such intentions. However, all the destination attributes were found to have an indirect influence on international tourists via the perceived destination image of Pakistan.

Opis:
This work aims at exploring the influence of selected factors that have received little attention in the past on ecotourism destination loyalty within the context of a developing country. The factors are destination image, familiarity, information search behaviour, involvement and travel motivation. The research was conducted on ecotourists visiting Malaysia who were approached on site and assisted to complete the survey instrument. The sample size was 813, representing a response rate of 47%. Hypotheses were tested using Structural Equation Model. It was found that while there are no linear relationships between the tested variables and destination loyalty, there are findings from the study that offer some managerial implications towards the industry.

Opis:
The considerations included in the article resulted from several years of research carried out by the author on the activity of destination management organizations (DMO) in various European countries. Their purpose is to identify possible implications for science and practical solutions resulting from an assessment of the activity of destination management organizations. In the article, the most important changes that occur in the organizations examined are indicated with emphasis on a visible transition from the marketing orientation to more comprehensive tourism management in a given area. Those observations originated from the author's previous research described in a separate monograph. That initial part of study was followed by the research carried out in March 2016, which allowed for verification of the previously obtained results based on the opinions of the representatives of 34 European DMOs. The participants of the study highly appreciated the recommendations and solutions proposed by the author aimed at streamlining the activities of destination management organizations. Their interest also convinced the author of the need of further research in relation to those entities.

Opis:
The purpose of this article is to investigate the formation of tourist-based destination brand brilliance as a differential advantage for a destination according to Alderson’s differential theory. This will be done via content generated on social media sites by both destination management organizations and tourists, and through the mediating role of three dimensions of Aaker’s brand equity model: awareness, image and perceived quality. Alderson’s differential theory in a tourism context, and investigating the brilliance aspect of a brand, are both new research areas. Data was collected by electronically distributing questionnaires to 398 WhatsApp and Telegram users in Iran. This study confirms the relationship between tourist-generated content and destination brand brilliance through the mediating roles of awareness, image and perceived quality, but the content generated by the destination management organization to make a destination brand brilliant is only possible through the mediating roles of image and perceived quality. There is also a significant positive relationship between the perceived quality of a destination and the formation of destination brand brilliance. The findings of this research will help destination management organizations to better think about, and better manage, content generated on social media sites by organizations and tourists to form brilliance for their destination brand.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the attractiveness of city break trips as a form of urban (cognitive) tourism. The study focuses on the following research questions: What factors influence the popularity of city break trips? Which cities are most often chosen as destinations for short-term holidays? What factors determine the choice of these cities? Which city attractions appeal to city break visitors? How are city breaks organized? These research questions were investigated through desk-based analysis of literaturę on urban tourist destination attractiveness and the determinants of city break trend development as well as an online diagnostic survey which involved 184 respondents actively participating in tourism. The study shows that the main reasons for taking a city break trip is the desire to “escape from everyday life routine”, “sightseeing” and “relaxation”. Cities in Poland were more popular destinations than cities abroad and they were usually reached by train or car. City break visitors most often visited historical sites and looked for off-the-beaten-track places. The main reason for choosing a particular destination was the desire to see something new. Research topic and issues testify to the originality of the selected research area.
Temat opracowania i poruszane problemy świadczą o oryginalności wybranego obszaru badań.

The main aim of the research is to identify the potential of location-based gamification apps for promoting tourist destinations. The specific goal is to investigate and evaluate the existing gamified apps for Sofia and reveal their potential as a marketing tool for enhancing the capital as a tourist destination. The study is based on a literature review on the topic and desk research of the available location-based gamification apps for promoting Sofia as a tourist destination thus allowing a comparative analysis of the main attributes of the gamified apps to be made. The qualitative research technique of using key informants is also applied, providing an expert source of information and a deeper insight into current and potential practices in the research area and their effectiveness. The results indicate that this has the greatest potential for further engagement of users and the co-creation of products and services as well as for raising awareness of the destination. The main limitations are related to the fact that they are a relatively new and little-known marketing tool in the field of tourism, and this predetermines a lack of sufficient knowledge and experience for their use for promotional purposes.

Managing tourism in a sustainable manner requires a strategic approach and frame thinking, being particularly emphasized at a tourism destination level alluding to collaboration of many and various stakeholders, thus trying to establish and retain a competitive edge. In order to achieve this, tourism destinations have a need for a destination management that is to manage organizations and stakeholders’ interests through strategic and operational approach. The aim of this paper is to provide theoretical understanding of strategic tourism destination management and of the Balanced Scorecard, based on the preliminary research of towns and municipalities within the administrative borders of the Karlovac County.
Aby to osiągnąć, destynacje turystyczne wymagają zarządzania destynacjami, czyli zarządzania interesami organizacji i interesariuszy poprzez podejście strategiczne i operacyjne. Celem niniejszej pracy jest zapewnienie teoretycznego rozumienia strategicznego zarządzania destynacjami turystycznymi oraz umożliwienie wprowadzenia Zrównoważonej Karty Wyników na podstawie wstępnego badania miast i gmin w obrębie granic administracyjnych gminy Karlovac.

This makes behaviour and competences of local entrepreneurs being the base for benefits gained in destinations thanks to tourism development. Features of tourism cause that in order to achieve desired level of effectiveness, those local entrepreneurs should posses very specific competencies. This is the result of mainly cooperational nature of the process of creating destination’s tourism product. Important and difficult for many entrepreneurs conditions are established. Entrepreneurs often show natural resistance to cooperation with competitors, also frequent is their lack of preparation (either mental or material) to implementation of information technologies being crucial on contemporary tourism market. Openness to cooperation might also be weakened by easy access to positive external outcomes of other companies’ activities.

The purpose of the article is to evaluate the possibilities of evaluating sustainable tourism in Polish tourist regions, in particular, through the use of ETIS indicators and to assess for the availability of data for their calculation in the nationwide statistical system. Qualitative research methodology was used to study the availability of ETIS indicators. A diagnostic type research procedure was adopted and the desk research method was used. In a situation where the data necessary for calculating a given indicator was not found in the available sources, primary research in the form of direct interviews with representatives of branches of Statistical Offices was used. In order to quantify the availability of ETIS indicators, a system for their evaluation was adopted and aggregate indicators were proposed for the evaluation of sections and individual criteria in the section, which is the author’s attempt to develop a unified system for evaluating sustainable tourism indicators. The results of the study showed that the availability of data for calculating ETIS indicators in Poland is not satisfactory. The lowest rating was given to the availability of indicators that facilitate the management of the resort, including the tourists’ satisfaction survey (section A). Also rated very low was the availability of indicators of the environmental impact of tourism in a resort (section D). The results obtained confirm the results of studies by other authors dealing with the issue of the real use of ETIS in tourist regions of other countries.

Cities are among the most common tourist destinations as they are not only interesting in their own right but also, to a large extent, determine the transit tourist traffic. The article addresses issues related to crisis phenomena in urban tourism destinations. Crisis phenomena are classified into exogenous, endogenous and mixed. Special emphasis is placed on endogenous phenomena, which result from intensive tourist traffic in cities, i.e. overtourism and the environmental impact on urban spaces, particularly regarding air quality. The purpose of the article is to present critical threats to the contemporary tourist market in the functioning of urban tourist destinations. The theoretical study is supplemented by results of a pilot survey of potential tourists concerning the role of information on air pollution when making decisions about tourism trips to cities. The study has a diagnostic and conceptual motivation. The following methods were used: review of the literature, logical operations, quantitative methods, heuristic methods. The results can be used to inform tourism policy in cities with well developed tourism.

This study aims to examine the impact of accessibility and destination brand identity on Chinese wellness tourist perceptions. It considers Bama Yao autonomous district’s growth towards longevity tourism and contributes to empirical work on the Chinese wellness tourism market. This quantitative research incorporated a post-positivism paradigm with the non-probability convenience sampling method to collect paper-based questionnaires: a total of 346 were coded for data analysis. The results demonstrated that accessibility positively influenced destination brand identity and tourist perceptions. Equally destination brand identity positively influenced tourist perception. Meanwhile, destination brand identity mediated the relationship between accessibility and tourist perception for wellness tourism destinations. However, the cross-sectional study’s results cannot be generalizable, and the sample may be one of its limitations. The present study provides policymakers and practitioners with the theoretical and practical basis to understand and predict tourists’ perceptions of wellness tourism destinations in China.

The Bieszczady mountains are one of the ranges of the Polish Carpathians. Their natural and cultural amenities attract thousands of Polish and international tourists each year. Despite many protected zones existing in this area (e.g. Bieszczadzki National Park, UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and Nature 2000 areas), the Bieszczady mountains face various environmental and social problems which have arisen from their dynamic but often chaotic tourism development. The lack of a common vision of long-term tourism development (on communal and regional levels) is one of the main challenging issues which public and private bodies are confronted with. The paper presents the results of the implementation of an innovative approach, i.e. the St. Gallen Model for Destination Management (SGDM), in selected Bieszczady communes. This method offers a clear advantage for key destination actors by allowing them to enter a process of holistic destination management. The article is the first attempt at SGDM application in Poland.

Opis:
Destination Image (DI) is a concept that has interested researchers in the field of tourism for many years. Using many tools to study this concept, researchers have realized that Travel Blogs (TB) can be an excellent means to get a detailed description about the perceptions of tourists, their motivations and their expectations. The present paper, built on a review of literature, links the two concepts of perceived destination image and Travel Blogs and puts in evidence the importance, characteristics and advantages of these important concepts. In the present work, we cite the main postulates made by researchers both on perceived destination image and travel blogs. The main advantage of this paper, is its ability to give an overall picture that can be used for further theoretical model development of the relationship between Travel Blogs and Perceived destination image.

In this study, information will be explored that will contribute to increasing tourism income in destinations with low tourist expenditure per person. For this purpose, the souvenir expenditure of tourists in Turkey is examined. Souvenir stores in Sultanahmet and the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul were investigated using a qualitative case study research design. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 11 souvenir sellers and 778 online comments of tourists shopping in souvenir stores were analyzed by netnography. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the efforts made to transform products based on the natural, historical and cultural richness of Turkey into brands, and thus increase local product diversity, play a critical role in increasing souvenir expenditure. On the other hand, the importance of the selection of high spending tourists as the target market and increasing the employment of qualified workers in the tourism sector has emerged.

The main reasons for innovations in tourism destinations are dynamic changes in visitors’ needs and the desire to gain a competitive advantage. As the result of these ongoing changes on the tourism market, the organisational structures within the destinations are evolving. Given these facts, the aim of the paper is to analyse the activities of destination management organisations in Slovakia, to identify their impact on tourism development and to determine the internal and external barriers to their further development. Quantitative research was the main tool used to determine how institutional innovations in the form of destination management organisations are contributing to a higher level of performance of the analysed areas in the tourism sector.

Opis:
The study intends to fill a gap in the literature on migration destination choice, which focuses on the outcome of a decision process, while largely neglects the very process of arriving at an outcome. Using qualitative material collected during 150 face-to-face interviews with Polish migrants to four EU countries and Australia, this article develops a general typology of decision makers involved in choices of migrant destinations. It applies the concept of bounded rationality to analyse the ways in which these migrants have chosen their host locations and, focusing on their rationality, explores manifestations of its boundedness. It also discusses the issue of information search by destination choice, showing that under relatively low perceived risks associated with migration, the process of knowledge building tends to be based on experience rather than on in-depth research.

Contemporary promotion of tourist destinations represents a challenge and gives  rise to many questions in a regard to numerous ways of communicating and transferring information. With concern to modern communication practices in society and due to fast-paced lifestyle, individuals are looking for information online and are making decisions based on available Internet data.  Attracting tourists through traditional promotional techniques such as brochures, leaflets, printed guidebooks, fairs and festivals are unsufficient with a respect to the  rising number of online users. Promotion of tourism is based on destination image which is created through direct or mediated experience and projected on the minds of individuals. It is greatly dependent on available information mostly visual.  YouTube is a popular video sharing site that counts over one billion users. It gives open access to a  great number of videos and therefore could have  an important role in promoting tourist destinations. The website was firstly used for non-commercial purposes but today it is very attractive for advertisers. The author examines  phenomena of YouTube and its potential for destination image creation. The aim of this article is to give an insight on characteristics of promotional videos used for tourism and to explore how various national and local tourist boards can use them on YouTube. The author identifies  the public relations profession’s role in creation of promotional audio-visual material.

Tea tourism, a growing niche segment within the broader realm of culinary and cultural tourism, has gained prominence as an emerging market opportunity. This study investigates the factors influencing tourists’ intentions towards tea tourism. The research uses the stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) framework, incorporating variables like destination credibility, authenticity, destination image, attitude and an intention to visit tea tourism destinations. Data from 392 domestic tourists were analyzed using structural equation modelling (CB-SEM). Key findings underscore the importance of factors such as destination image, tea-related knowledge and prior tea tourism experiences in shaping tourists’ intentions. This research not only contributes to the emerging tea tourism market but also offers valuable insights for destination marketers, policymakers and tea industry stakeholders. Understanding these influencing factors can help tailor marketing strategies and offers to make tea tourism destinations more appealing, thus supporting sustainable growth in this burgeoning industry. Ultimately, this study sheds light on the preferences of tourists seeking immersive tea experiences and guides efforts to develop and promote tea-related tourism experiences effectively.

Though there has been an upward rise in the number of publications on COVID-19, tourism and hospitality, researchers have turned a blind eye towards conducting a multifaceted stakeholder assessment of its impact on a given destination and the possible effects of recent developments on the destination’s recovery. To address the latent gap, this study first attempts to assess the impact of COVID-19 on various aspects of a destination’s businesses, workforce and the local community. Taking into consideration the recent pharmaceutical developments and ease in travel restrictions, it then explores the effects of such an intervention on the destinations’ recovery process. 142 valid questionnaires were collected from employees of travel agents, tour operators, transport operators and hotels in the northern part of India. Subsequently, PLS-SEM (partial least squares structural equation modeling) was applied using SmartPLS to test the proposed hypotheses. Through two individual studies in September 2020 and November 2021 i.e. at different stages of the pandemic, this study not only offers insights into the current status of destination recovery but also tests the validity and applicability of recent publications, their proposed recommendations and future practices. Recovery at a destination was found to be a result of the recovery of its businesses, workforce and community. These factors also had positive and negative impacts on each other. The article further suggests the low transformational ability of the pandemic in the context of tourism and hospitality. It is amongst the first few studies to have carried out a temporal assessment of stakeholders for an investigation into the pandemic’s impact on destinations in addition to their recovery.

Attractiveness of Lviv as an urban tourist destination has grown over recent decades. The increase in numbers of visits and visitors to this city inevitably makes an important impact on local economy, cultural developments, community life, etc., and consequently gives rise to certain sustainability issues. In order to assure a long-term planning and effective management of the city’s tourism assets it is essential to run monitoring programs aimed at spotting problem areas and determining needs for changes in local tourism development. This paper aims at using indicators of sustainability of Lviv urban destination as a central instrument for improved planning and management of tourism business in the city. The research methods combine SWOT analysis and a survey carried out in 2016 in a joint effort of the authors, students of Lviv Ivan Franko National University majoring in Tourism and the City Institute commissioned by Department of Tourism of Lviv City Council. As the results of SWOT analysis suggest, main strengths of Lviv urban destination include: a) an abundance of cultural, architectural, historical and religious attractions; b) a big number of cultural and touristic events and festivals regularly held in the city; b) an increasing amount of educational offerings to people who want to get qualifications in tourism-related fields, as well as numerous opportunities for professional improvement of tourism industry workers. The opportunities mainly consist in: a) favorable conditions for the growth of businesses involved in tourism service; b) increasing income to the city budget generated by tourism industry; c) sociocultural benefits available to the local community such as a growing number of art objects, cultural venues and other assets that can be used and enjoyed by the local residents, as well as improved accessibility of various city facilities for the disabled. Among the major weaknesses and threats are a) lack of a strategy for the development of tourism industry in the framework of the overall Strategy of the city competitiveness; b) uncontrolled construction works in the historical part of town, excess of cars and traffic congestions, limited space for tourists; c) runaway of local inhabitants from the historical part of the city; d) the increased use of resources, infrastructure overload, and the problem of wastes disposal. After processing all the data collected in the study, we were able to determine the key indicators of the destination sustainability, namely tourist attractiveness of the city and tourist satisfaction with the destination. The former indicator is built upon the following sub-indicators: the presence of cultural, historical and religious sites, cultural events and entertainment, hospitality of the local population, general atmosphere and beauty of the city. The latter indicator includes information about tourist evaluation of the quality of such tourism services as accommodation, food and catering, tourist information, transportation as well as factors like availability and prices for public commodities and services, transport connections with other cities, condition of roads, security issues, etc. As a result of indicator analysis, indexes of Lviv attractiveness as an urban tourist destination and tourist satisfaction with local tourism services were calculated.

Opis:
The development of outbound tourism from Poland to Turkey after 2010 can be divided into three periods. The first one is connected with a stable increase in the number of departures. The second period includes the growth in the number of trips which served as a replacement for vacations in Greece, Egypt or Tunisia. The last period started in 2014, when the number of visitors rapidly declined as the result of terrorist attacks and the military coup in Turkey. Due to concerns about the security after numerous terrorist attacks, the traditional destinations of Polish tourism such as France and Morocco lost their popularity. There was the inexorable decline in trust toward countries such as Egypt and in particular Turkey, where the numbers of tourists fell by 63% after the terrorist attacks and military coup. In first half of 2015 we have about 209.2 thous. Polish tourists in Turkey, and in 2016, the same time, only 82.7 thous. what gives decrease of nearly 60.5%. Undoubtedly, the tightening of internal policies after the unsuccessful military coup will deepen the decline in interest in Turkey by Polish visitors.

We analyse this issue with use of qualitative research in the context of the decision as to whether to enter into cooperation with other entities within a mountain tourist destination in the south of Poland. On the basis of the research we broaden the knowledge on the incentives and behaviour of tourist entrepreneurs.

Oedipus’ life drama shows a mysterious sense of human history. The source of hero’s misery lies in the destiny – a superior force that rules the world. Confronting the fate and drama self-recognition is accomplished.

Opis:
The purpose of this article is to compare the perceived destination image of Poland as seen by Russians and Ukrainians. This study contributes to understanding the process of how the image of a destination is shaped, the new contribution being the comparison of the image of Poland as perceived by visitors and non-visitors of two nations, which until 1991 were a part of one state. The study is based on a questionnaire consisting of 16 statements on the perceived destination image of Poland. A 5-point Likert scale was used in the survey. A total of 710 people were examined, including 348 Russians and 362 Ukrainians. The reliability of the survey was assessed using Cronbach's alpha index. The hypotheses verification, using Student's t-test, showed that Russians and Ukrainians perceived Poland as an attractive country in terms of tourism. No major diferences between Russians and Ukrainians were observed in the perception of Poland as a tourist destination. Moreover, no influence of past experience was noted on the shaping of the perceived destination image of Poland. Additionally, some managerial implications of significant relevance to destination marketing are discussed, and future directions for research are outlined.

City tourism belongs to the strongest trends in the international tourism market, which is especially the case in Europe, where eight out of twenty largest city destinations are located. Faced with growing competition these urban destinations have, however, to look for new marketing solutions to strengthen their position and attractiveness for potential visitors. One of them is a destination card which integrates a variety of tourism services provided by several operators at a discounted inclusive price. Therefore, it offers visitors an advantage by bundling the products and services available without the need for booking and buying in advance. By doing so, the card also fosters higher participation in cultural activities and public transport usage and offers additional benefits for the city which can include spreading the tourist traffic throughout the city or attracting visitors to lesser known sites. Additionally, the destination card system can also provide data concerning tourist flows and allows to adapt the offer better to their specific needs. The purpose of this paper is therefore to work out the model of a city destination card for a large city. In order to achieve this objective, the top five European capital cities were selected based on the number of visitors. Subsequently, the comparative study – developed on the secondary analysis of data – of tourist cards offered in London, Paris, Rome, Prague and Vienna has been conducted. Based on the study and referring to the literature, the final results were formulated concerning the typical structure of a card and its additional elements, followed by the validity period solutions and their price. Satisfied customers highlight that the offered card combines everything needed for the tourist stay, as in their opinion, cards tend to be a very easy, convenient and simple way of sightseeing the city with benefits such as saving money and time. They also recommend longer periods of card validity. The value of the destination card as a marketing tool for a city has also been proven based on the appraisal of customers opinions.

In this day and age, overtourism has become a burning issue and a considerable challenge to tackle. It will remain on the rise as long as the tourism industry continues to grow. It appears impossible to stop or eliminate. Therefore, it only seems reasonable to adopt proper management strategies. Since no comprehensive solution has been elaborated as of yet, tourist destinations have started to take their own measures in order to handle the issue. The objective of the article is to identify the underlying characteristics of overtourism with regard to the strongly promoted concept of sustainable development of tourism, and to analyze the methods of handling overtourism, following the example of Venice. The issue of excessive tourist traffic in the center of Venice is very well-known. The problem is serious enough to serve as a case study in the context of tourist destination management.

The aim of this study is to explain the implementation of ecotourism and the humanist (eco-humanist) perspective in the tourism space of Grand Maerakaca. This research has used qualitative methods to explore issues related to these concepts as implemented in Grand Maerakaca. Observations and interviews with tourists from various demographic segments were conducted to get information related to their ability to access ecotourism spaces. The results show that not all tourist providers in Grand Maerakaca implement the eco-humanist concept such as shown by the absence of local community participation and the empowerment of vulnerable groups. Besides, some tourist paths are inaccessible and dangerous for older tourists and children. Some of these are reasons why Grand Maerakaca is not attractive to tourists. The findings were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques to obtain a perspective related to ecohumanist implementation in Grand Maerakaca. The output of this research is to suggest forms of this implementation in tourist spaces in Grand Maerakaca that can accommodate all tourists and can increase tourist visits.

The main aim of the work is to present legal procedures related to the transformation of agricultural land into non-agricultural land in Poland. Based on the analysis of selected legal regulations, activities and steps to be taken to start non-agricultural land use have been described. Both stages related to the transformation, i.e. change of land use and exclusion of land from agricultural production, have been extensively discussed. Interpretation of selected legal regulations made it possible to organize information on the procedure for transforming agricultural land into non-agricultural purposes. Moreover, on the basis of selected statistical data, the legal aspect has been supplemented with information on the current level of conversion of agricultural land in Poland.

Fluctuations that characterise airport traffic make planning for efficient operations difficult. This study examines air cargo traffic at Murtala International Airport, Lagos, Nigeria, and Kotoka International Airport, Accra, Ghana. The study focused on the trend of cargo volume, origin, and destination and forecasted the cargo volume at the airports. Air cargo data from 1991-2022 were collected from the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL). Descriptive techniques using line graphs and GIS mapping were used to analyse data. Time series techniques of moving and weighted averages, exponential smoothing, and least square techniques were used to forecast the cargo volume of the airports. The study found a characteristic fluctuating pattern of cargo flow. Nigeria’s dominating export cargo types are general goods, edible items, and hair attachments. Ghana’s dominating export cargo types were pineapple, general goods, and papaya. Germany, followed by Ethiopia and Turkey, dominate the origin of import cargo, while the United Kingdom, UAE, and Turkey dominate the destination of export cargo from Nigeria. Luxembourg, Turkey, and the UK dominate the origin of import cargo, while the UK, Netherlands, UAE, and Qatar dominate the destination of export cargo in Ghana. The least-square technique predicts 3.67% and 2.3% growth of cargo traffic in Nigeria and Ghana, respectively. An increasing trend in cargo volume was predicted for both airports. Both countries need to strategise on their relationships with other countries and develop policies that will increase cargo flow by air.

Film tourism is a phenomenon which is not very well known but developing together with new film productions and people’s increasing interest in this area. The film is to some extent a new promotion tool which uses a filmed image to show places and stories on purpose and in a way which is adjusted to the audience. This can later encourage people to go to a certain destination. The aim of the article was to find out whether film tourism influenced the promotion of selected tourist destinations. It was done by means of the method of diagnostic survey with the use of the technique of a standardized questionnaire. The results of the research in reference to film tourism in the promotion of tourist destinations indicate that it is a phenomenon that should be further promoted. It is because nearly 50% of the respondents encountered the term “film tourism”.

Opis:
The paper undertakes the broadly understood perception of tourism space. The research aim is to present the topic in the context of Nowa Huta - the youngest quarter of Krakow (Poland). Empirical data was gathered on the basis of questionnaires distributed among 400 permanent and temporal residents of Krakow and the closest neighburhood of the city. The main hypothesis is related to the existence of differences in the perception of Nowa Huta according to the place of residence of respondents. On the basis of analysis of the empirical material it was proved that the majority of respondents are familiar with the quarter. In their opinion, Nowa Huta is presented as a dangerous, grey, and scary place. Positive perception of the quarter is typical mainly its residents. The results might be used to determine the directions of the future development of Nowa Huta to improve its image and become more attractive for tourists and residents. The results also prove the relationship between the familiarity of the place and its positive perception.
Artykuł dotyczy szeroko pojętej tematyki percepcji i postrzegania przestrzeni turystycznej. Celem badawczym było przedstawienie powyższych zagadnień w odniesieniu do najmłodszej dzielnicy Krakowa - Nowej Huty. Materiał empiryczny pracy stanowią wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych w grupie 400 mieszkańców stałych i tymczasowych Krakowa i najbliższych okolic.

Recently, an increased interest of various industrial and economy branches in geothermal waters has been observed. In Poland, one of the most famous geothermal systems is the Podhale Basin, which forms an important reservoir of geothermal waters with relatively low mineralization and high temperatures. More and more often geothermal water is used not only for balneological or recreational purposes, but also as a heat source for heating. New areas of application of geothermal waters are also appearing, e.g. the use of cooled geothermal water as a raw material to produce fresh water. Another example of the application of geothermal waters is the cosmetic industry. For instance, a cream based on geothermal water from Podhale was introduced to the cosmetics market in 2013. This paper presents the possibilities of using the geothermal waters of Podhale, with particular emphasis on geothermal waters from Banska PGP-1, Banska IG-1 and Banska PGP-3 boreholes.

This study scrutinizes India’s growing appeal as a tourist destination, accentuated by government initiatives and innovative tourism policies like the e-visa program, Incredible India Campaign 2.0 and digital advancements in the travel sector. With the diminishing impact of COVID-19, there is a noticeable surge in various forms of tourism – inbound, outbound and domestic. The primary focus is to understand the driving factors behind the choice of India as a destination for inbound tourists. This research delves into these motivations, providing a global perspective on India’s attractiveness. A mixed-method approach was employed, utilizing convenience sampling for data collection. The quantitative analysis was based on a survey, informed by a literature review, comprising 390 respondents from 10 diverse Indian destinations. Additionally, 25 qualitative interviews were conducted, aiming to enrich and triangulate the quantitative findings. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) revealed five predominant motivations among inbound tourists: culinary interests, spiritual pursuits, budget-consciousness, cultural curiosity and natural allure. These findings were substantiated through thematic analysis. The outcomes have significant practical ramifications for destination managers and tourism policy developers in India. By understanding these key motivators, they can devise targeted strategies for enhancing the appeal of India to these specific tourist segments. This study not only aids in refining tourism promotion efforts but also contributes to the academic discourse on tourist motivation offering a fresh international perspective on India’s image as a tourist destination.

The purpose of the article is to present intangible cultural heritage as a resource for a special category of cultural and educational tourism, namely heritage tourism. The authors use embroidery and carpet weaving as examples of intangible cultural heritage. The methods used in the study include a review of foreign and domestic theoretical and methodological developments, analysis of best practices in the field of heritage tourism, field research, analysis of materials collected during a survey of locations and the authors’ personal experience of tourist products. The results of the study outline the development of heritage tourism based on a creative approach as well as strategic plans of the state regarding tourism development. Based on practical experience, the authors present general principles of designing tourist routes, where elements of intangible cultural heritage act as “magnets”. The analysis has indicated elements of intangible cultural heritage that can appeal to tourists under particular circumstances. The authors argue that the development of heritage tourism based on a creative approach to designing tourist products in the form of intangible cultural heritage should popularize it in the national tourism market and promote tourism destinations with intangible cultural heritage, such as embroidery and carpet weaving. These tourist destinations should be used not only to attract domestic and foreign tourists, but also to promote the Ukrainian culture.
