A level set based shape and topology optimization approach to electrical impedance tomography (EIT) problems with piecewise constant conductivities is introduced. Opis:
The topological derivative is introduced for the extremal values of cost functionals for control problems. The optimal control problem considered in the paper is defined for the elliptic equation which models the deflection of an elastic membrane. The derivative measures the sensitivity of the optimal value of the cost with respect to changes in topology. A change in topology means removing a small ball from the interior of the domain of integration. The topological derivative can be used for obtaining the numerical solutions of the shape optimization problems.

A lot of research data is generated during carrying out experiments like for example in case of oscilloscope records. In this huge amount of information a lot of it is irrelevant. Therefore finding the useful information can be difficult. The influence of closing a short- circuit current with an electromagnetic relay on its contacts was tested. During those tests a large amount of data, recorded by oscilloscope, was created. Only a small portion of this information was useful. The problem was to find specific information in all of the gathered data. This article presents the usage of scientific software designed to solve this issue. It also describes the usage of numerical derivate for finding a specific time range of collected waveforms.

Opis:
An analytical solution is better than an approximate or series solution of a problem. Here we develop an analytical formulation to solve linear fractional order partial differential equations with given boundary conditions. We discuss the method for the simultaneous fractional derivative, in space as well as time and up to order two. Examples reflect the effectiveness and simplicity of the method. First we convert the fractional derivative into integer order derivative and then use method of separation of variables in usual sense to get the complete solution. The fractional derivative has been taken in the sense of Katugampola’s derivative.

Opis:
Some new tetrahydropyrimidine derivatives have been synthesized and their structural determination was done by IR, NMR and mass spectral data. Thermal analysis of these synthesized dihydropyrimidinthiones has been carried out by TGA and DSC techniques. From the thermograms, various kinetic parameters such as order of degradation (n), energy of activation (E), frequency factor (A) and entropy change (ΔS) have been evaluated. Further, thermal stability of tetrahydropyrimidine have been determined which is found to depend on the type of substituent present in the compounds.

A general framework for calculating shape derivatives for domain optimization problems with partial differential equations as constraints is presented. The first order approximation of the cost with respect to the geometry perturbation is arranged in an efficient manner that allows the computation of the shape derivative of the cost without the necessity to involve the shape derivative of the state variable. In doing so, the state variable is only required to be Lipschitz continuous with respect to geometry perturbations. Application to shape optimization with the Navier-Stokes equations as PDE constraint is given.

In this paper we present some results based on slightly modified idea of the \(\mathbb{I}\)-density introduced by Władysław Wilczyński. Some theorems are generalized versions of results from [2] and [3]. We investigate properties of functions from \(\mathbb{R}^X\), where \(X\) is supplied with the \(\mathbb{I}\)-density. We try to free our considerations from the assumption of Baire property, or measurability. In some cases this is not done yet. Star-marked statements still need that assumption, proofs presented here are done for Baire property, but it is possible to adapt them to measure. \(\mathbb{I}\)-density itself does not require any structure of considered space but a metric vector space over \(\mathbb{R}\). However, in last section we confine ourselves to \(\mathbb{R}\), for we make use of \(\mathbb{R}\)’s structure for simplicity. Clarke's generalized derivative $f^0(x,v)$ is studied as a function on the Banach algebra Lip(X,d) of bounded Lipschitz functions f defined on an open subset X of a normed vector space E. For fixed $x\in X$ and fixed $v\in E$ the function $f^0(x,v)$ is continuous and sublinear in $f\in Lip(X,d)$. It is shown that all linear functionals in the support set of this continuous sublinear function satisfy Leibniz's product rule and are thus point derivations. A characterization of the support set in terms of point derivations is given.

Lexical Forms of Song’s Incipits in Belarusian Wedding Cycle: Semantics, Structural Transformations (an Example of One Type of Texts) In the context of the study on dynamic typology and dialectal features of Belarusian folk songs, the paradigm of texts relating to the episode when the Bride parts with her parents is considered here. Such texts have the same lexical and poetic basis; are characterized by common type of incipit in different variants. All of these texts depict an dramatic for the Bride moment of “intrusion” into her backyard “an alien” family – the Groom’s family. Different versions of this incipit have been noticed within the large territory of Belarus and on the frontier (Latvia, Poland). Structural transformations of this type of incipits are manifested by reduction or, quite the opposite, by adding (affixation) syllables in verses. It is conditioned by non-verbal semantics expressed through vocalic rhythmic – the superiority of recitation elements or motor and somatic dynamics. Expansion of an incipit verses by adding to the initial word its rhymed synonym is also a typical phenomena.Diachrony of a given paradigm texts is also revealed by comparing the texts related thematically to the wedding moment mentioned above. A large number of these texts are abridged versions (a middle and a final part) of full texts of paradigm in question. A song in the abbreviated version begins with the culminative part and omits the metaphorical and descriptive initial part (such transformations can be observed in the periphery districts of a radical area). Accordingly, in such a case a different stanza fulfills the incipit function. The method of dynamic typology is applied while analyzing various texts that belong strictly to the same syllabic and rhythmic paradigm. It is a promising approach to study on linguo-musical dialects and diachronic changes in folk song language. Leksyka incipitów białoruskich pieśni weselnych: semantyka, transformacje strukturalne (na przykładzie jednej grupy tekstów)W kontekście badań typologii dynamicznej oraz cech dialektalnych białoruskiej pieśni ludowej rozpatrujemy paradygmat tekstów dotyczących epizodu rozstawania się panny młodej z rodzicami. Są to teksty o tym samym podłożu leksykalno-poetyckim, które charakteryzuje wspólny typ incipitu w różnych jego wariantach. Wszystkie one symbolizują dramatyczny dla panny młodej moment „wtargnięcia” na jej podwórko „obcego” rodu – rodu narzeczonego. Metafora ta zawarta jest w formule incipitu. Warianty formuły zanotowano na znacznym obszarze Białorusi oraz na terenach przygranicznych (Łotwa, Polska). Transformacje strukturalne tego typu incipitów polegają na redukcji lub rozrastaniu (afiksacji) składu sylabowego wersolinii. Wszystko to jest uwarunkowane semantyką pozawerbalną, wyrażoną przez rytmikę wokaliczną – z przewagą albo elementów deklamacyjności, albo dynamiki motoryczno-somatycznej. Charakterystyczne jest również poszerzenie wersu incipitu za pomocą dodawania do początkowego wyrazu synonimu rymowanego.Diachronia tekstów danego paradygmatu ujawnia się także przy zestawieniu tekstów tematycznie związanych z tymże epizodem wesela. Spora liczba tych tekstów przedstawia wersję skróconą – środkowy i końcowy fragmenty – tekstu pierwotnego danej grupy. Pieśń w wersji skróconej rozpoczyna się od punktu kulminacyjnego, z pominięciem metaforyczno-narracyjnej części wstępnej. Odpowiednio rolę incipitu pełni tu inna strofa. Teksty w wersji skróconej lokalizują się na peryferiach areału. Metodę dynamicznej typologii pieśni stosujemy do opisu tekstów różnych gatunków, o różnej tematyce, jednak należących ściśle do tego samego paradygmatu sylabo-rytmicznego. Otwiera to nowe perspektywy w badaniach dialektów lingwo-muzycznych oraz zmian diachronicznych w języku pieśni ludowej.

The calculation of unknown hydrodynamic derivatives of the equations of motion is the first step to estimate ship maneuverability and dynamic stability. These derivatives can be obtained theoretically, experimentally and numerically. Despite the development of the oblique towing model test to measure the hydrodynamic derivatives of displacement ships, limited experimental results are available for hydrodynamic derivatives of high speed crafts and speed dependency of the hydrodynamic derivatives is not understood well. In this paper a systematic series of model tests is described to determine the effect of forward speed on hydrodynamic derivatives of a monohull planing craft and the variations of the hydrodynamic derivatives by forward speed are derived. According to the results, hydrodynamic derivatives of planing hull are dramatically changed by variations of forward speed. Moreover, it is not possible to introduce a constant hydrodynamic derivative in the all the ranges of drift angle. Thus, the method of known constant hydrodynamic derivatives is not applicable to the simulation of planing craft maneuvering and variable hydrodynamic derivatives should be applied.

The subject matter of the paper is the reconstructive phase of the derivative conception of interpretation. In this phase, the task of the interpreter is to recreate (reconstruct) from provisions of law a normative expression which later becomes the subject of further interpretation aimed at obtaining (or recognising, reconstructing) norm established by the legislator. Conducting the reconstructive phase allows you to move on to the next, perceptual phase of interpretation, grouping different types of interpretation directives. The paper presents doubts raised by the derivative conception in the chosen scope and attempts to indicate its possible modifications. Especially the theses on the "transition" procedure (paraphrase, semantic derivation) from provisions of law to the normative expression are considered controversial. The proposed modifications concern primarily a thesis of the need to make a set of legal provisions relevant prima facie for determining legal consequences of a given class of events the subject matter of interpretation carried out according to the principles of the perceptual phase.

In this paper, we consider an optimal control problem in which a dynamical system is controlled by a nonlinear Caputo fractional state equation. First we get the linearized maximum principle. Further, the concept of a quasi-singular control is introduced and, on this basis, an analogue of the Legendre-Clebsch conditions is obtained. When the analogue of Legendre-Clebsch condition degenerates, a necessary high-order optimality condition is derived. An illustrative example is considered.

Mytnik prepared a monograph Anthroponymy of Volynia of the 16th‑18th centuries (2010), using a wide source base – 58 manuscripts and 32 printed sources, but this 16th‑century Volyn literary heritage site did not serve as a basis for her study. Having studied the word‑formative derivatives of the male Christian names in the Lutsk castle book of 1560‑1561 we came to the conclusion that the most productive formants are ‑k(o) (67 variants) and ‑ets (40 variants); the suffixes ‑yna (10), ‑uk (9), ‑ash (6), ‑osh (4) show a slightly lower productivity. With the help of the suffixes ‑k(a), ‑yk, ‑ysh, ‑ut(a), ‑yts(a) 2 nominal variants are formed. Names with the formants ‑ok, ‑as, ‑ys, ‑os, ‑ay constitute single examples. The most commonly used names in Volyn documents from the middle of the 16th century were Yatsko / Ya(ts)ko (35 bearers), Fede(ts) / Khvede(ts) (22), Vasko / Va(s)ko (20), Hrytsko / Hry(ts)ko, Yvane(ts) (18), Le(v)ko (15), Andree(ts) / Andrѣe(ts) (14), Yvashko / Yva(sh)ko, Matys (11), Mykhno, Tyshko / Ty(sh)ko, Fe(d)ko / Khve(d)ko (10). Among the truncated suffix name variants, the most productive form is ‑khno: it being attested in 9 names. While the most commonly used name is Mykhno (10 bearers).

The article discusses the model classifying German motivated words that takes its origin in the work of Fillmore entitled "The Case for Case" (1968) and is used by Hans Wellmann in his description of German word formation processes in 1984-1998 (Duden. Die Grammatik, Band 4). The model stands in agreement with the rule of assigning the semantic roles to individual parts of the sentence, which was formulated in German language by Wolfgang Motsch (2004). Renata Grzegorczykowa and Jadwiga Puzynina used the same rule in Polish word formation in their „Gramatyka współczesnego języka polskiego. Morfologia.” (1999). Each time, the model classifies the derivative words with reference to their semantic role and the motivating part of the explicatory paraphrase. Such derivatives may be, at the same time, classified according to their suiffxes. In the case of compounds and case government structures that are motivated by the functioning in the particular language verbal phrase, the motivational aspect comes from the particular verbal phrase (used as an explicating paraphrase) – its motivational argument and reference argument. The latter one belongs to the verb case government present in the explicating phrase and is added to the compound on its left side. The model described in the article is also used in order to describe the Danish derivatives which appear as equivalents of German words in the literary translations.

The aim of this paper is to present the shape derivative for a wide array of objective functions using the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations as a state constraint. Most real world applications of computational fluid dynamics are shape optimization problems in nature, yet special shape optimization techniques are seldom used outside the field of elliptic partial differential equations and linear elasticity. This article tries to be self contained, also presenting many useful results from the literature. We conclude with a comparison of different objective functions for the shape optimization of an obstacle in a channel, which can be done quite conveniently when one knows the general form of the shape gradient.

The paper concerns the application of fractional calculus in the modeling of a selected part of a power system generating unit, which is the high frequency AC exciter. The model’s fractional derivative-based generalization is recalled. The basis of the estimation process for the model consists of two sets of measurement waveforms. In order to solve the fractional and nonlinear problem – a numerical solver is applied. The solver and the estimation procedure have been both implemented in GNU Octave. The model parameter susceptibility is examined. The changes of each model parameter value is studied in a way that the influence on the model output is observed.

The use of software tools in the teaching process allows us to enrich the traditional methods. Graphics and animation complement the text and create positive associations related to the presented content. Recent research shows that using the visual methods in teaching leads to better scores obtained by students. The aim of the paper is to present the dynamic visualisations of selected concepts taught in mathematics and other “quantitative” subjects at university. Our dynamic visualisations can be used during lectures to help students to better understand difficult ideas and dependencies, for example the derivate of a function, the concept of fuzzy sets and the operations on these sets as well as the concept of the best solution in multi-objective programming problems. Visualisations of these issues are prepared in GeoGebra, which combines algebra and geometry and allows for the dynamic visualisation of concepts with a mathematical background.

The article presents the results of the investigations cover novel composite silumins with new alloying additives, such as chromium and molybdenum (not yet used in this type of silumin) and increased content of nickel and copper. The samples strength tests were performed at room temperature (20°C) and at elevated temperatures (up to 350°C), and were carried out using the strength machine, equipped with the special climate chamber. The dimensional stability of the new aluminum alloy was investigated using the precision dilatometer. This device allows one to register and record the sample dimensions as a function of temperature, during sample heating and cooling. During the DTA crystallization process investigations, derivative curves have been determined, that allows the analysis of the solidification process and the analysis of the heat transfer process in the sample structure and phase transformations. In the article shows the derivative curve and representative microstructures, and characteristic temperatures for the conventional AlSi12 alloy and novel composite alloy. All research results indicated that the newly developed composite aluminum alloy has far better parameters than aluminum alloys used previously for pistons of the internal combustion engines. This article concludes with a summary of the advantages of the new composite alloys.

Opis:
Approximate analytical solutions concerning lifetime of soluble solid particles in an unbounded stagnant medium have been developed by simple application of fractional half-time derivative in the Riemann-Liouville sense to express the relationship between the net surface mass flux and the concentration at the interface. The solutions start with the initial formulation of Rice and Do on the time-depletion of the radius of a spherical particle expressed through terms including the solubility parameter as the only key parameter controlling the process of dissolution. The two approximate developed solutions use different scaling and dimensionless variables: The 1st solution is developed by an introduction of a similarity variable [xxx] while the 2nd solution applies the classical scaling using the initial sphere radius as a length scale that leads to dimensionless radius r = R/R0 and time τ = Dt/R02. Both solutions provide approximate relationships close to that of Rice and Do.

The interest in efficient root-finding iterations is nowadays growing and influenced by the widespread use of high-speed computers. On the other hand, the calculation of derivatives is often hard, when the problems are formulated in terms of nonlinear equations and as a result, the importance of derivative-free methods emerges. For these reasons, some efficient three-step families of iterations for solving nonlinear equations are suggested, where the analytical proofs show their seventh-order error equations consuming only four function evaluations per iteration. We employ hard numerical test problems to illustrate the accuracy of the new methods from the families.

In this work we investigate integro-differential initial value problems with Riemann Liouville fractional derivatives where the forcing function is a sum of an increasing function and a decreasing function. We will apply the method of lower and upper solutions and develop two monotone iterative techniques by constructing two sequences that converge uniformly and monotonically to minimal and maximal solutions. In the first theorem we will construct two natural sequences and in the second theorem we will construct two intertwined sequences. Finally, we illustrate our results with an example.

In this paper, we study several fractional variational problems with functionals that contain n unknown functions with their higher order Caputo derivatives and Riemann–Liouville integrals. We prove generalized fractional Euler–Lagrange equations. We also study an isoperimetric problem with multiple constraints, and we find the optimality conditions. Some examples are provided to illustrate the applications of the results.

Die Stellung von Komposition und Ableitung im Deutschen als den beiden Hauptmethoden der Wortbildung ist in der Wortbildung unbestritten. The position of composition and derivation in German as the two main methods of word formation are unquestionable in word formation. It will be explained below whether word formation by means of prefixes belongs to the composition or to the derivative, or on the other hand, whether it forms an independent group. The following analysis is limited to five authors: Henzen, Fleischer, Erben, Eichinger and Coseriu.

N-Methyl-N-D-fructosyl amphotericin B methyl ester (MFAME) is a semisynthetic derivative of the antifungal antibiotic amphotericin B (AMB). In contrast to the parent antibiotic, the derivative is characterised by low toxicity to mammalian cells and good solubility in water of its salts. Comparative studies on biological properties of free MFAME, AMB and their liposomal formulations were performed. To obtain liposomal forms, the antibiotics were incorporated into small unilamellar vesicles composed of dimyristoyl phosphatidylcholine (DMPC) and DMPC:cholesterol or ergosterol, 8:2 molar ratio. The effectivity of the liposomal and free forms of AMB and MFAME were compared by determination of fungistatic and fungicidal activity against Candida albicans ATCC 10261, potassium release from erythrocytes, and haemolysis. The results obtained indicate that in contrast to AMB, incorporation of MFAME into liposomes did not further improve its selective toxicity. Studies on the antagonistic effect of ergosterol and cholesterol on the antifungal activity of the antibiotics indicated that sterol interference was definitely less pronounced in the case of MFAME than in the case of AMB.

The paper discusses a semi-analytical method for solving systems of fractional state equations with various orders. The method bases on an expansion of the system into one where there is a single derivative order. The formulation of the matrices of the new system is explained in detail. Another characteristic feature of the method is also introduced – a consideration of forms, in which the time functions appear and the terms appearing in the solution as a result. A fractional circuit example is presented in order to test the method. The computation time for the method is also studied.

In this paper option pricing is treated as an application of Bayesian predictive analysis. The distribution of the discounted payoff, induced by the predictive density of future observables, is the basis for direct option pricing, as in Bauwens and Lubrano (1997). We also consider another, more eclectic approach to option pricing, where the predictive distribution of the Black-Scholes value is used (with volatility measured by the conditional standard deviation at time of maturity). We use a model framework that allows for two types of asymmetry in GARCH processes: skewed t conditional densities and different reactions of conditional scale to positive/negative stocks. Our skewed t-GARCH(l, 1) model is used to describe daily changes of the Warsaw Stock Exchange Index (WIG) from 4.01.1995 till 8.02.2002. The data till 28.09.2001 are used to obtain the posterior and predictive distributions, and to illustrate Bayesian option pricing for the remaining period.
W prezentowanym artykule wycena opcji jest traktowana jako jedno z zastosowań bayesowskiej analizy predyktywnej. Rozkład wartości zdyskontowanej wypłaty, indukowany przez gęstość predyktywną przyszłych stóp zwrotu, jest podstawą bezpośredniej wyceny opcji (zob. Bauwens, Lubrano, 1997). Rozważamy też bardziej eklektyczne podejście, wykorzystujące rozkład predyktywny formuły Blacka i Scholesa (ze zmiennością określoną jako warunkowe odchylenie standardowe w momencie realizacji opcji). Przyjmujemy ramy modelowe, które uwzględniają dwa rodzaje asymetrii w procesach GARCH: skośne rozkłady warunkowe (typu t-Studenta) oraz zróżnicowane reakcje wariancji warunkowej na szoki dodatnie lub ujemne. Model: skośny £-GARCH(l, 1) jest stosowany do opisu dziennej zmienności Warszawskiego Indeksu Giełdowego (WIG) od 4.01.1995 r. do 8.02.2002 r. Dane do 28.09.2001 wykorzystujemy do budowy rozkładów a posteriori i predyktywnego oraz do ilustracji bayesowskiej wyceny opcji na pozostały okres.

Opis:
A singular stochastic control problem in n dimensions with timedependent coefficients on a finite time horizon is considered. We show that the value function for this problem is a generalized solution of the corresponding HJB equation with locally bounded second derivatives with respect to the space variables and the first derivative with respect to time. Moreover, we prove that an optimal control exists and is unique.

This paper presents simulations of a three-dimensional model of the bone remodelling process. The model consists of a set of variable order partial differential equations, in which the varying order depends on the presence of tumour cells. The simulations are of a two-dimensional bone, to make visualisation simpler. They show that this model corresponds to the known evolution of bone remodelling, and is simpler than integer order models found in the literature.

Internet memes are an important element of the modern culture and their vocabulary is transmitted to other texts thus becoming an important component of communication and familiarity with it becomes necessary for the understanding of various statements and utterances. The object of the description is the meme eponyms and their derivatives. In the analysis of derivative words, the nest methodology and synchronic word formation principles were applied, and in the description of their bases, i.e. eponyms identical to the base ones, references were made to the studies by B. Dereń and M. Rutkowski. The research permitted the determination of a high word formation activity of meme eponyms the status of which varies: some of them are stabilised, which allows their recognition as dictionary units, while others are textual. A large number of the structures have been created with the use of the same formants and word formation techniques. What deserves particular attention is verbs, which are very seldom coined based on first names. Similarities to creating eponyms based on last names can be seen in derivation. Adjectives with the suffi xes –owat(y) and –ow(y) are coined fairly often. The analysed eponyms and their derivatives refer to the stereotypes of Poles functioning in online texts, which differ from the self-stereotypes functioning in the Polish culture to date.

The aim of this paper was to present main information about financial instruments. Financial instruments are very important for law and as well for economy; for this reason studies in this field are very broad and affects of many aspects. This article present a general characteristic, classification and main functions of financial instruments. The most important is the division of financial instruments on securities and derivative financial instruments. The derivatives market reallocates risk from the people who prefer risk aversion to the people who have an appetite for risk. Debt instruments are assets that require a fixed payment to the holder, usually with interest. The equity market (often referred to as the stock market) is the market for trading equity instrument.

N-Methyl-N-D-fructosyl-amphotericin B methyl ester (MFAME) is a new derivative of amphotericin B, which is characterised by low toxicity to mammalian cells and good solubility in water of its salts. The antifungal activity and effects of MFAME towards Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae multidrug resistant MDR(+) and sensitive MDR(-) strains was compared with those of parent compound. The results obtained indicate that MDR(+) S. cerevisiae was sensitive to MFAME as well as to AMB. MFAME exhibited the same effects on fungal cells studied as parent antibiotic. The two antibiotics, depending on the dose applied induced cell stimulation, K+ efflux, and/or had a toxic effect.

Unlike those for euclidean convex functions, the known characterizations for hyperbolically convex functions usually contain terms that are not holomorphic. This makes hyperbolically convex functions much harder to investigate. We give a geometric proof of a two-variable characterization obtained by Mejia and Pommerenke. This characterization involves a function of two variables which is holomorphic in one of the two variables. Various applications of the two-variable characterization result in a number of analogies with the classical theory of euclidean convex functions. In particular, we obtain a uniform upper bound on the Schwarzian derivative. We also obtain the sharp lower bound on |f'(z)| for all z in the unit disk, and the sharp upper bound on |f'(z)| when |z| ≤ √2 - 1.

We point out a relation between the Arveson's Radon-Nikodym derivative and known similarity results for completely bounded maps. We also consider Jordan type decompositions coming out from Wittstock's Decomposition Theorem and illustrate, by an example, the nonuniqueness of these decompositions.

Eight anthracene derivatives (chrysophanol, physcion, emodin, aloe-emodin, rhein, barbaloin, sennoside A and sennoside B) were signified in six species of Rumex L. genus: R. acetosa L., R. acetosella L., R. confertus Willd., R. crispus L., R. hydrolapathum Huds. and R. obtusifolius L. For the investigations methanolic extracts were prepared from the roots, leaves and fruits of these species. Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography was applied for separation, identification and quantitative determination of anthracene derivatives. The identity of these compounds was further confirmed with UV-VIS. Received data were compared. The roots are the best organs for the accumulation of anthraquinones. The total amount of the detected compounds was the largest in the roots of R. confertus (163.42 mg/g), smaller in roots R. crispus (25.22 mg/g) and the smallest in roots of R. hydrolapathum (1.02 mg/g).

The aim of the paper was to identify the influence of magnesium on the preservation of pathogenic abilities of entomopathogenic nematodes living in soil contaminated with oil derivatives. Entomopathogenic nematodes living under natural conditions in soil or applied to soil as biopreparations for plant pest control are sensitive to soil contamination with heavy metals and oil derivatives. These nematodes do not respond directly by higher mortality but by a decrease in their pathogenic abilities, which adversely affects the success in searching and eliminating pests. A Polish commercial preparation called Owinema SC, containing infective juveniles of Steinernema feltiae Filipjev (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae), was used to test the effect of oil derivatives on pathogenicity and reproduction of entomopathogenic nematodes. Soil was polluted with petrol, diesel oil and used engine oil; the control was soil unpolluted with oil derivatives. Magnesium sulphate was also added (MgSO4∙H2O) in the amount of 160 mg per 1 liter of the suspension. The three oil derivatives in concentrations of: 0.3, 0.6 and 1.0 g or in double doses, i.e. 0.6, 1.2 and 2.0 g were poured over weighted soil batches. The control remained intact. Three replications of each treatment were made. Subsequently, Tenebrio molitor L. larvae used as bait inesct were placed in containers with the suspension. The bait insects were kept in the containers for 7 days, and afterwards they were removed from the soil and taken from the traps in order to check their mortality rate. Furthermore, to test the reproduction ability of entomopathogenic nematodes, dead larvae were moved to “islands” previously prepared according to the Dutky method. The results were presented as the number of entomopathogenic nematodes per 1 dead larvae of Tenebrio molitor L.
Celem pracy było rozeznanie wpływu magnezu na ochronę zdolności patogenicznych owadobójczych nicieni przebywających w glebie skażonej substancjami ropopochodnymi. Owadobójcze nicienie żyjące w warunkach naturalnych w glebie, a także stosowane doglebowo jako biopreparaty do zwalczania szkodników roślin, są wrażliwe na skażenie gleby metalami ciężkimi oraz substancjami ropopochodnymi. Nicienie te nie reagują wówczas śmiertelnością, ale zmniejszeniem zdolności patogenicznych, co wpływa na ich efektywność w wyszukiwaniu i zabijaniu szkodników roślin. W doświadczeniu laboratoryjnym wykazano, że siarczan magnezu dodany do gleby skażonej substancjami ropopochodnymi zwiększa zdolności patogeniczne nicieni, ale nie reprodukcje wewnątrz owadów żywicielskich. Owinema S.C. – polski preparat komercyjny zawierający larwy inwazyjne Steinernema feltiae (Rhabditis, Steinernematidae) – używano w testach laboratoryjnych nad oddziaływaniem zanieczyszczenia ropopochodnymi na patogeniczność i reprodukcje owadobójczych nicieni. Glebę zanieczyszczono benzyną, olejem i olejem silnikowym. Dodano siarczan magnezu (MgSO4 H2O) w dawce 160 mg l-1 zawiesiny. Ropopochodne użyto w dawkach 0,3 g, 0,6 g i 1,0 g lub podwójnej, tj. 0,6 g, 1,2 g i 2,0 g. Gleba nie zanieczyszczona stanowiła próbę kontrolną. W pojemniku z glebą umieszczono owady testowe – larwy mączlika młynarka Tenebrio molitor L. Owady po 7 dniach wyjmowano i sprawdzono ich śmiertelność związaną z patogenicznością nicieni i zanieczyszczeniem ropopochodnymi. Zdolności reprodukcji nicieni badano metodą Dutkego na „wyspach” szkiełek w szalkach. Wyniki przedstawiono jako liczebność larw nicieni z 1 martwej larwy owada T. monitor.

The paper deals with the solution of problems that concern fractional time derivatives. Specifically the author’s interest lies in solving circuit problems with so called fractional capacitors and fractional inductors. A numerical method is proposed that involves polynomial interpolation and the division of the entire time interval (for which computations are performed) into subintervals. Analytical formulae are derived for the integro-differentiation according to the Caputo fractional derivative. The rules that concern the subinterval dynamics throughout the computation are also presented in the paper. For exemplary linear circuit problems (AC and transient) involving fractional order elements the solutions have been obtained. These solutions are compared with ones obtained by means of traditional methods.

The spreading properties of several hydrocarbons (vegetable, engine, gear and crude oils) on distilled and artificial sea water were determined under laboratory conditions using a novel optical method. With the aid of Langmuir’s equation, the geometrical signatures of a discrete lens of each hydrocarbon droplet floating on a water tank served to calculate the entering E (31.30–94.18 mN m−1) and spreading S (−3.50 to −57.49 mN m−1) coefficients, and equilibrium thicknesses t∞ (0.20–1.25 cm). They appeared to be in agreement with the values derived from direct interfacial tension measurements (Wilhelmy plate and stalagmometer methods). Empirical relations of the normalized lens radius rL/rdrop and S on the water surface tension γAW were postulated as being of significant value in oil spill assessment studies at sea. The parameters obtained together with the surface properties of a natural surfactant-containing water body represent the principal input data required for modelling the spreading of a surface-tension-gradient-driven oil spill at sea.

The paper presents general solutions for fractional state-space equations. The analysis of the fractional electrical circuit in the transient state is described by the equation of the state and space equations. The results are presented for the voltage of a capacitor and current in a coil, for different alpha values. The Caputo and conformable fractional derivative definitions have been considered. At the end, the results have been obtained.

Rachunkowość zabezpieczeń jest uznawana za jeden z najbardziej zaawansowanych i najtrudniejszych obszarów rachunkowości. Zastosowanie rachunkowości zabezpieczeń ma na celu uchronić wartość wyniku finansowego przed nadmierną fluktuacją. Wykorzystywanie instrumentów pochodnych w celu zabezpieczenia jednostki przed zmiennością czynników zewnętrznych nie jest tożsame ze stosowaniem rachunkowości zabezpieczeń. Artykuł analizuje zasady ewidencji oraz prezentacji instrumentów pochodnych przez Grupę Kapitałową ABC w celu zabezpieczania przed ryzykiem zmienności przepływów pieniężnych oraz wyników finansowych wyrażonych w walutach krajowych ze względu na zmiany cen materiałów i towarów.
Hedge accounting is recognized as one of the most advanced and the most difficult areas of accounting. The application of hedge accounting is to protect the value of the financial result against excessive fluctuation. The use of derivative instruments to hedge volatility of the individual against external factors is not identical to the application of hedge accounting. This article presents and examines the principles of records (accounting principles) and the presentation of derivative instruments by the Group ABC to hedge against the risk of fluctuations in cash flows (cash flow hedge) and the financial results denominated in national currencies due to changes in the prices of materials and goods.
