The purpose of investigation was comparison of engine's output while equipped with different types of turbocharging systems. Engine used during research was Toyota's SI engine with displacement of 1296 cm3. Intake and exhaust manifold were modified by introducing fixed and variable geometry turbocharger. The third system was electrically driven charger ensuring both constant and variable boost pressure. Regulatory parameters of fuel injection and ignition system weren't changed. On the basis of carried out research , it was affirmed that there is a possibility of introducing charging system into the engine without changes of mentioned regulatory parameters. Proper choice concerning charging systems allows improving torque characteristic in wide range of engine's rotational speed. Electrically driven charger giving maximum boost pressure provides significant improvement in low engine's speed range, whereas in higher range it is not showing so much advantage. In medium engine's speed range the best result is given by variable geometry turbocharging system. In this application boost pressure had to be reduced to 0.25105 [Pa] in order to provide stable engine's run in all conditions including variable engine's speed and whole range of throttle opening angle.

The purpose of the investigation was the application of two turbochargers system in spark ignition engine and determining turbochargers' work parameters depending on throttle opening and engine's rotation speed. System with small turbocharger and larger variable geometry turbocharger in parallel connection (three-stage turbocharging) was examined. The engine used during the investigation was 1300 cm displacement SI engine with modified intake and exhaust manifolds. Intake and exhaust manifold modification including only implementation of turbochargers and sensors was done for experimental purposes. Specific values of maximum boost pressure were obtained by introducing a waste gate valve system with appropriate characteristic. Proper choice concerning work parameters of the charging system allows to improve torque characteristic in wide range of engine's rotation speed. The system with additional small turbocharger allowed to increase torque value in low engine's speed range as well as to increase boost pressure in high engine's speed range for throttle opening angle values above 50 %. In medium engine's speed range the best results were given by variable geometry turbocharger. The two turbochargers system and values of maximum boost pressure were controlled by the system with two waste gate valves. Improving total efficiency was obtained in medium engine's speed range. The application of two turbochargers system as modification of naturally aspirated spark ignition engine allows to improve torque flexibility rate. There is a possibility to apply the charging system with two turbochargers, with boost pressure control system, in already existing, naturally aspirated engine without decreasing compression ratio and modifying engine's control system.

The article refers to results and conclusions on post-emergency repairs of a turbo-charging system of a DEUTZ engine of the SBV 8M 628 type of 1715 kW – the main power unit of a cement carrier. The failure of the turbocharger led to severing of a part of the exhaust outlet valve head. In order to determine the cause of the turbocharger fault, parametric identification of the reference state of the turbocharging system interacting with the ship main power engine has been carried out. The post-emergency servicing of the turbocharger comprised mounting a new blade rim of expansive instruments of smaller capacity than the so far used. Control measurement results of the power system after the replacement of the turbocharger turbine nozzle have been presented. Limitations of correct engine operation have been noted in the range of maximum load with continuous power (MCR). A range of corrective maintenance servicing of fuel equipment has been presented. Using the values of measured torque at the propeller shaft, incorrect interaction between the shaft and the main engine has been noted. A new propeller, adequate to the design operational parameters of the engine characteristics, has been chosen and mounted. The correctness of turbine expansive instrument replacement has been verified by correct interaction between the elements of the power system: propeller – main engine – turbocharging system. Thus, a wider range of economically acceptable ship operation has been obtained.

The most disadvantageous system of the automobile, because of its damaging influence on environment is powertrain. This notion means engine connection with powertrain, which is very important in respect of ecology and safety. In the matter of safety very important is ability to accelerating with rapid depressed accelerator pedal. This situation takes place during overtaking process, which is caused by driving force deficiency from engine and powertrain mechanical inertia. It has negative influence on overtaking process and also on driving comfort. This phenomenon described in works, mainly come from accumulation of mechanical energy of powertrain. Numerous research centres in the world have undertaken examinations with an aim of solving this problem. However, a successful solution to this problem has to meet a number of prerequisites of technological and economic nature. The technological ones have to involve the uncomplicated construction while the economic ones are associated with the need for low cost of application of the solution put forward. The latter question is related to meeting numerous conditions and results from the effects of special testing as a result of specific operating conditions of power transmission system. In numerous research centres abroad additional energy sources including plungers or electrical motors are installed in order for the compensation of mechanical inertia. Another way of compensation for the mechanical inertia of the transmission system is gaining larger momentum from the driving unit at the time of its abrupt acceleration. A successful solution to this problem may lie in the application of an additional boost with surplus charging in the fuel supply system. They analyzed in the paper structure of the system of charging the internal-combustion engine up about the spark ignition in the purpose for the compensation for the shortage of the driving force on wheels of the car and results of preliminary research were presented.

The purpose of the present study was to simulate the equivalent circuit in the MATLAB software in order to implement the desired relationships for both continuous-conduction mode (CCM) and discontinuous-conduction mode (DCM), and to obtain the power and efficiency values at different frequencies. Then, it was necessary to optimize the effective values on the power by Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. After optimization, the optimization and pre-optimization results were compared and, if post-optimization results were not desirable, effective parameters should be reviewed before the optimization stage and the tunable parameters should be changed to achieve the desired results. This process will continue to obtain the optimization results. The results show that the highest efficiency is 98% in the DCM mode and 95% in the CCM mode. In both methods, we achieved more favorable results than the with the PSO method. However, the DCM mode provides an improvement which is about 2.6% higher than CCM.

Opis:
The article discusses selected provisions of EU aviation law concerning economic issues of air traffic management. This process in European airspace is carried out by air navigation service providers, which, unlike airport operators and air carriers, have a monopolistic position and do not operate under market conditions. Consequently, the lack of competition between air navigation service providers replaces the common charging system for airspace users established by European Union law. In order to increase the cost-effectiveness of the services provided while maintaining a high level of safety of air operations, the navigation charges system was linked to the parallel implementation of the Single European Sky performance scheme for air navigation services in 2010. In 2019, the rules governing both systems were consolidated into a single legal act. The study also looks at the basic indicators of economic efficiency of air traffic management based on the example of the Polish Air Navigation Agency.

W artykule omówiony został proces ładowania pojazdu elektrycznego z minicarportu fotowoltaicznego. W celu przeprowadzenia badań zaprojektowano i zbudowano, w ramach zajęć dydaktycznych, minicarport fotowoltaiczny o mocy szczytowej 1 kWp. Do badań wykorzystano mały, dwuosobowy pojazd miejski o napędzie elektrycznym. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań określono parametry prądowe zarówno carportu fotowoltaicznego oraz pojazdu elektrycznego. Na ich podstawie określono sposób podłączenia pojazdu elektrycznego do carportu fotowoltaicznego, w celu ładowania baterii trakcyjnych pojazdu.
The article discusses the process of charging an electric vehicle from a photovoltaic mini-carport. In order to carry out the research, a solar minicarport with a peak power of 1 kWp was designed and built as part of the didactic classes. A small, two-seat city vehicle with electric drive was used for the tests. On the basis of the conducted tests, current parameters of both photovoltaic carport and electric vehicle were determined. Based on them, the method of connecting an electric vehicle to a solar carport was specified in order to charge the vehicle’s traction batteries.

The article presents a method of a photovoltaic system power selecting for proper electric vehicle. At the beginning, the characteristics of the electric vehicle itself and its traction batteries were made in order to determine the method of its charging. In the presented studies, measurement data from the operation of real photovoltaic systems was recorded and processed. The algorithm used includes examining the energy consumption profile of the owner's residential building. The combined demand for electricity of the electric vehicle and the building made it possible to determine the planned photovoltaic system. The authors presented three possibilities of its location. It can be installed on the roof of the building, on the ground next to the building or on the carport under which an electric vehicle can be parked. Finally, the Metalog family of probability distributions was used to analytically validate the power choice of the photovoltaic system. The authors have developed an algorithm using human and artificial intelligence that helps to properly select the power of the photovoltaic system for the vehicle.

For urban electric buses, it is important to develop a schedule for fast charging of batteries as a function of existing operating conditions. The paper presents a model for the optimization of charging process of electric bus batteries in the electric vehicle charging station system on their routes, with a determined structure. The place and time of battery charging are selected as a function of the existing bus operating conditions, assessment of the battery charge level and location in the transport urban infrastructure, using the Monte Carlo simulation approach. The aim of the article is to optimize the speed of electric buses with the use of cloud computing aimed at the collision-free use of a limited number of charging stations for electric vehicles on their routes and minimizing the total energy demand.

The following paper focuses on the electric vehicles sector development and its possible influence on power system load in Poland. The goal is to estimate the increase of power demand resulting from the electric cars charging. First of all, the current legal environment, which provides a framework for the e-mobility sector evolution, was described. Furthermore, the technical process of electric vehicles charging was depicted and the applicable methods of cooperation between e-mobility and power system were proposed. The quantitative analysis of the impact of the electric vehicles charging on the power demand in the National Power System was conducted. The input data and adopted assumption were specified. The structure of the calculation model and the differences between analyzed scenarios were described. The outcome obtained for the National Power System and Warsaw distribution area were presented.
Przedstawiony powyżej artykuł koncentruje się na rozwoju sektora pojazdów elektrycznych i jego możliwym wpływie na obciążenie systemu elektroenergetycznego w Polsce. Jego celem jest oszacowanie wzrostu zapotrzebowania na moc wynikającego z ładowania samochodów elektrycznych. Przede wszystkim opisano obecne otoczenie prawne, które zapewnia ramy dla ewolucji sektora elektromobilności. Ponadto przedstawiono proces techniczny ładowania pojazdów elektrycznych oraz zaproponowano odpowiednie metody współpracy między samochodami elektrycznymi a systemem elektroenergetycznym. Przeprowadzono analizę ilościową wpływu ładowania pojazdów elektrycznych na zapotrzebowanie mocy w KSE. Podano dane wejściowe i przyjęte założenia. Opisano strukturę modelu obliczeniowego oraz różnice pomiędzy analizowanymi scenariuszami. Model został zaprojektowany do przeprowadzania symulacji dla 15-minutowych interwałów czasowych. Badania przeprowadzono dla trzech różnych udziałów samochodów w pełni elektrycznych (BEV) w całości samochodów elektrycznych (suma BEV i PHEV): 0%, 50% i 100%. Przedstawiono wyniki uzyskane dla obszaru Krajowego Systemu Elektroenergetycznego i obszaru warszawskiego.

With the massive expansion of decentralised renewable energy in electricity grid networks, the power supply system has been changed from centralised to decentralised one and from directional to bi-directional one. However, due to the regional energy structure difference in the power imbalance between electricity generation and consumption is becoming more and more serious. A grid-scale energy storage system (ESS) can be one solution to balance the local difference. In this paper, two charging/discharging strategies for the grid-scale ESS were proposed to decide when and with how much power to charge/discharge the ESS. In order to realise the two strategies, this paper focuses on the application of fuzzy logic control system. The proposed strategies aim to reduce the peak power generation, consumption and the grid fluctuation. In particular, this paper analysis the ratio between energy-capacity and rated power of ESS. The performance of the proposed strategies is evaluated from two aspects, the normalised power of ESS itself and the influence on the power grid. Simulation studies were carried out on the rule-based control systems with different energy-to-power (e2p) ratios, and the results show that the proposed charging strategy with combination of extreme situation of power imbalance and the rest capacity of ESS provides a smooth load curve for the regional power grid system while the external power exchange is reduced effectively.

We present a procedure for system identification and tuning of a wireless power transfer (WPT) system with four magnetically coupled resonators, where each resonator consists of a coil and a capacitor bank. The system-identification procedure involves three main steps: 1) individual measurement of the capacitor banks in the system; 2) measurement of the frequency-dependent two-port impedance matrix of the magnetically coupled resonators; and 3) determining the inductance of all coils and their corresponding coupling coefficients using a Bayesian approach. The Bayesian approach involves solving an optimization problem where we minimize the mismatch between the measured and simulated impedance matrix together with a penalization term that incorporates information from a direct measurement procedure of the inductance and losses of the coils. This identification procedure yields an accurate system model which we use to tune the four capacitance values to recover high system-performance and account for, e.g., manufacturing tolerances and coil displacement. For a prototype WPT system, we achieve 3.3 kW power transfer with 91% system efficiency over an air-gap distance of approximately 20 cm.

Tendencją rozwoju systemów taryfikacji i zarządzania przetwarzaniem ruchu telekomunikacyjnego jest tworzenie zgodnej architektury systemów dla realizacji obu tych zadań. Takie systemy mogą zwiększać elastyczność mechanizmów taryfikacji, co stanowi ważny cel polityki przetwarzania ruchu telekomunikacyjnego. Jednolite podejście stwarza możliwość realizacji polityki przetwarzania ruchu telekomunikacyjnego przy wykorzystaniu różnych parametrów: jakości usług (QoS), priorytetów obsługi, priorytetu subskrybenta itp. Praca dotyczy aktualnych wymagań obsługi połączeń w podsystemach obsługi taryfikacji należących do systemów 4G, co może prowadzić do zwiększenia zysku dostawcy. Zaproponowano oryginalny tryb serwisu przy przetwarzaniu informacji multimedialnych w sieci bezprzewodowej z dostępem OFDMA. Wykorzystano model oparty na rozkładzie Poissona. Uwzlędniona została szerokość pasma wymaganego przez usługę przy przeciążeniu sieci. Zaproponowany tryb pozwala lepiej wykorzystać połączenia i nie zmniejsza ilości usług w sieci. Badania eksperymentalne pokazały, że tryb ten jest wydajniejszy od innych., stosowanych dotychczas.

V2G (Vehicle-to-grid) technology will report important benefits for the operation and safety of the grid. In order to facilitate the expansion of the V2G technology in a future, it is recommended to offer the drivers with easy to use methods to charge and discharge their EV batteries. In this sense, wireless chargers are expected to play a relevant role in the future electrical networks as it reduces the users intervention. The development of this kind of system is still open to improve them in terms of their operation, their compliance and their control. An important issue for the evaluation of these systems is the efficiency, which measures the power losses occurring in the system. This paper addresses a deep study about the losses in a bidirectional wireless charger. Then, it provides with a mathematical model to characterize them. This model is validated by means of experimental results conducted in a 3.7-kW prototype.

Opis:
The article is devoted to the description of practical experience in testing the alternating current electric machines. The results of combining thecapabilities of digital systems for collecting and processing information with a powerful electromechanical system are presented. Itis the combination of two systems of different purposes that enables creating the state-of-the art diagnostic installations combined into one electro-mechatronic system. Practical results of electric machine tests contain clear explanations of fundamental principles and provide acomprehensive assessment of the conditionof electric machines. They use methods of direct charging the electric machines with the possibility of recuperation of electric energy during tests. Thermal state of electrical machine nodes is monitoredusing the thermal forecasting technologies. Both the methods for various types of tests and means for their implementation are described in detail. This article is intended for engineers involved in designing, manufacturing and testing the electric machines.
