Aim: The article discusses selected problems related to the functioning of universities at the turn of the century, with particular emphasis on the world of values and the master-student relationship. Methods: An analysis of selected scientific studies dedicated to the subject of higher education and education. Results: Based on the above analysis, there is anxiety about the status quo of this institution and anxiety about the master-student relationship. In the face of constant reforms of the university, the quality of these relations is also changing, while these relations are the foundation favoring or inhibiting creative work. Conclusions: Reforms are necessary and inevitable, but they should be accompanied by care for the world of universal values that should always be present in places such as universities. Therefore, it is worth initiating and conducting discussions on the values and relationships that build a modern university.

Opis:
The project method as a teaching method, which is based on activating teaching strategies, ensures holistic development of a child. It allows to select activities for children at different stages of development, stimulates thinking, teaches to put the newly acquired knowledge into practice and enables to learn through doing, which in particular raises the level of effectiveness of teaching children with mild intellectual disabilities. The joint teamwork of the whole class on the project helped them to enter the social life of the school, becoming a good plane of inclusion. However, according to the studies, the problem is the knowledge and awareness of possibility of applying this method by primary education teachers to support the school functioning of children with special educational needs including those with mild intellectual disabilities.

The article introduces disabled University Students research conducted with the use of grounded theory strategy. The author with the help of metaphors released skirmish that may occur for a young researcher who uses grounded theory. The aim of the paper is a thesis that the application of this strategy requires from the researcher not only a knowledge of procedures, discipline and extensive knowledge but also, and perhaps above all, subtle reflectivity. It was explained also the relationship between the two areas (Grounded Theory and battle metaphor). Then, the author points to the skirmishes that happened to her in the research of students with disabilities in accordance to the strategy of grounded theory. They can occur, however, in any other areas of young researcher. The final conclusion of the use of skirmish metaphors, which was used in relation to the examination procedure, may be used to descriptions of the area under consideration as well.

W pracy przeanalizowano rolę, jaką współcześnie winien odgrywać system edukacji w kształtowaniu osobowości ucznia. Ucznia, który już funkcjonuje i będzie funkcjonował jako osoba dorosła w coraz bardziej zcyfryzowanym i zwirtualizowanym świecie. Poruszono problemy związane z wyborem najbardziej skutecznych form prowadzenia lekcji czy wykładu, mobilizacji uczniów do samodzielnego i krytycznego wyszukiwania informacji w Internecie, uczenia krytycy-zmu wobec coraz powszechniejszej metody pracy ucznia typu „kopiuj” i „wklej”, umiejętności poruszania się w wirtualnych przestrzeniach typu „Second Life”. Zwrócono uwagę na pozytywne, ale i negatywne efekty wprowadzania programu „Cyfrowa Szkoła”. Wskazano na aspekty mental-nościowe i ekonomiczne, z którymi boryka się system edukacji przy wprowadzaniu nowoczesnych form edukacji wykorzystujących współczesne osiągnięcia teleinformatyki.
This work analyses the role that should presently be played by the educational system in a process of shaping of the personality of a student. This student is already active, and will remain active as an adult, in the increasingly digitalized and virtualized world. Problems are mentioned that relate to the choice of the most effective forms of teaching: motivation of students to self-reliant and critical search for the information in the Internet, being critical about the working method „copy-paste”, which is becoming the most popular among students, and finally teaching them skills needed in virtual spaces like „Second Life”. Both positive and negative effects of the introduced program „Cyber School” are mentioned. Appointed are mental and economic aspects of the educational system in introducing modern forms of education that use up-to-date achievements of computer sciences and teleinformatics.

The number of students with migrant experiences at Polish schools is increasing. This group includes both foreign students and Polish students coming back from emigration together with their parents. They receive educational support in order to facilitate their adaptation and integration. Those students are taught how to communicate at school and study in Polish, which means that they are taught the language of school education. Teaching the language of school education can be located in between foreign language didactics and native language didactics. The article describes the relation between teaching Polish as a language of school education and teaching Polish as a foreign language. The most important aspect of teaching a foreign language is to prepare a learner to communicate in everyday life and professional life situations. Efficiency is essential here; language correctness is of secondary importance. The most important element in the process of teaching the language of education is to develop the language skills that will enable a student to communicate at school, gain new knowledge and use it effectively. It requires different educational content, teaching methodology and requirements. W artykule zatytułowanym: „Edukacja włączająca szansą dla rozwoju uczniów sprawnych i z niepełnosprawnością” przybliżono ideę inkluzji i kształcenia włączającego, celem ukazania wartości płynących ze wspólnej edukacji. Wskazano na zmianę postrzegania, ale też ewolucję wrażliwości i postaw wobec osób z niepełnosprawnością, która dokonała się w ostatnich latach. Wynikiem powyższego możliwy jest rozwój idei kształcenia inkluzyjnego w Polsce i na świecie. Podkreślono, że tym co nadaje odpowiedni kierunek w interakcjach społecznych osób sprawnych i niepełnosprawnością jest nie tyle akt tolerancji, lecz pełna akceptacja i dążenie do bycia razem pomimo różnic. Wnioskuje się, że stworzenie przestrzeni edukacyjnej dla każdego ucznia w klasie przynieść może wiele pozytywnych zmian, które na trwale wpiszą się w system wartości i postaw zarówno uczniów, jak i nauczycieli.
The article Inclusive education as an opportunity to develop both able-bodied students and those with retardation describes ideas of inclusion and inclusive education in order to show values of joint education. It points to resent change in perception and sensitivity towards persons with retardation. In result of the change the idea of inclusive education is being developed in Poland and all over the world. It emphasizes that the foundation of the right direction of social interactions of able-bodied persons and those with retardation is not an act of tolerance but full acceptance and readiness to being together in spite of differences. It argues that creating of education space for every student in class can bring many positive changes which will influence permanently the value systems and attitudes of both students and teachers.

The digital world is becoming accessible to ever younger children, who are increasingly looking for and building their presence in it. The school seems to be a place that should respond to these trends by incorporating digitality into its educational proposals. Research into the content of textbooks for the first year of primary school shows infantile character and inadequacy in time and cognition of content related to the digital world. First-grade students are unlikely to encounter (in the currently offered school’s curriculum) a reflection on the dangers it poses or proposals to use digital skills. The contents of the textbooks constitute a world existing alongside the digital natives.

Celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na zmiany w szkolnictwie wyższym, które dokonują się w kontekście wyzwań, jakie stanowi kształcenie dla studentów ze zróżnicowanymi potrzebami. Społeczne rozumienie niepełnosprawności niesie za sobą konieczność poprawy ich sytuacji, a Ustawa o zapewnieniu dostępności osobom ze szczególnymi potrzebami motywuje uczelnie do zwiększania dostępności. Artykuł stanowi refleksję dotyczącą kształcenia studentów z niepełnosprawnościami oraz próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie o miejsce osoby ze szczególnymi potrzebami w systemie szkolnictwa wyższego. Ukazane zostały również dobre praktyki od lat realizowane na Uniwersytecie Śląskim w Katowicach oraz aktualnie podejmowane działania na rzecz realizacji idei równych szans poprzez urzeczywistnianie założeń zapisanych w ustawie o dostępności.
This article aims to highlight the changes in higher education that are taking place in the context of the challenges of educating students with diverse needs. Societal understanding of disability brings with it the need to improve the situation, and the Accessibility for Persons with Diverse Needs Act motivates universities to increase accessibility. This article reflects on the education of students with disabilities and attempts to answer the question of the place of a person with special needs in higher education system. It also presents good practices having been implemented for years at the University of Silesia in Katowice and current activities aimed at realizing the idea of equal opportunities by implementing the assumptions of the Accessibility Act.

In professional research literature learner identity, motivation and autonomy are frequently the focus of attention. Identity is believed to be responsible for beliefs and opinions about the process of language attainment. Although much more has been written on learner identity, teacher identity is usually marginalized. The study summarized in this paper focuses on students – future teachers of English (N=32)- who attend M.A. EFL seminars to obtain full teaching qualifications. The students were asked to give answers to seven questionnaire statements referring to their present teaching careers and their former studies. It appeared that students coming from educational backgrounds other than university frequently show gaps in knowledge of second language acquisition theory and practice. What is more, as the ELT seminars cater mostly for students from institutions outside the university, considerable remedial work is needed in order to make it possible to prepare the students to write their M.A. theses independently.

Pojawiają się coraz to nowsze formy zaburzeń zachowania u małych dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym. Niektóre z nich mogą świadczyć o zagrożeniu niedostosowaniem społecznym dziecka. Artykuł prezentuje objawy i przyczyny niedostosowania w celu umożliwienia prowadzenia skutecznej profilaktyki niedostosowania społecznego już w placówkach przedszkolnych. Celem przeprowadzonych badań była także ocena poziomu wiedzy nauczycieli przedszkola dotyczącej niedostosowania społecznego małych dzieci. Do przeprowadzenia badań użyto metody sondażu. Nauczyciele udzielili anonimowych odpowiedzi na przygotowanych wcześniej kwestionariuszach. To pozwoliło na zebranie wielu szczerych opinii na temat niedostosowania społecznego małych dzieci. Zebrane informacje pozwoliły dostrzec, że zjawisko niedostosowania społecznego jest coraz powszechniejsze w placówkach przedszkolnych. W przedszkolach wciąż brakuje możliwości poznawania środowiska domowego ucznia, a jest to konieczne, aby móc postawić prawidłową diagnozę. Wielu nauczycieli nie dostrzega w zaburzeniach zachowania dziecka objawów niedostosowania społecznego. Dlatego konieczne jest dalsze badanie tego zjawiska i uświadamianie wychowawcom jego wagi.
More and more new forms of behavioral disorders appear in young preschool children. Some of them may indicate the threat of a child’s social maladjustment. The article presents the symptoms and causes of maladjustment in order to enable effective prevention of social maladjustment in pre-school institutions. The aim of the research was also to measure the level of knowledge of preschool teachers about social maladjustment of young children. The survey method was used to do the research. Teachers gave anonymous answers to previously prepared questionnaires. This allowed to gather a lot of honest opinions about the social maladjustment of young children. The collected information has allowed to see that the phenomenon of social maladjustment is becoming more and more common in kindergarten institutions. Kindergartens still lack the opportunity to explore the student’s home environment, and this is necessary to be able to make the correct diagnosis. Many teachers do not see any signs of social maladjustment in their child’s behavioral disorders. Therefore, further investigation of this phenomenon is necessary and making educators aware of its importance.

Integrated classes are one of the possible forms of education student with a disability. They are considered as an alternative to mass classes and special classes. Opinions about their functioning are often different. Also, there are a variety of reasons for choosing this form of education for the child. The article presents the results of a survey among parents of children studying in integrated classes in the city of Poznan.
