Opis:
A differentiable group is a group in the category of (reduced and nonreduced) differentiable spaces. Special cases are the rationals ℚ, Lie groups, formal groups over ℝ or ℂ; in general there is some mixture of those types, the general structure, however, is not yet completely determined. The following gives as a corollary a first essential answer. It is shown, more generally, that a locally compact topological transformation group, operating effectively on a differentiable space X (which satisfies some mild geometric property) is in fact a Lie group and operates differentiably on X. Special cases have already been known: X a manifold (Montgomery-Zippin), X a reduced (Kerner) or nonreduced (W. Kaup) complex space. The proof requires some analysis on arbitrary differentiable spaces. There one has for example in general no finitely generated ideals as in the case of complex spaces. As a corollary one obtains: The reduction of a locally compact differentiable group is a Lie group (by different methods also proved by Pasternak-Winiarski). It was already proved before that any differentiable group can be uniquely extended to a smallest locally compact differentiable group (as a dense subgroup). The study of the nonreduced parts of differentiable groups remains to be completed.

Evolution of that type of social dialogue provides a dramatic illustration of how the mechanisms of group interests conflict shaped the course of industrial restructuring. Experiences accumulated over the years of conducting sectoral social dialogue may now serve as a benchmark for regional modernization initiatives.

However, the results of a comparative law research allow to draw the conclusion that in a substantial number of legal systems the term “group insurance” is not to be found in normative acts. In the literature, multiple attempts were made to expound the legal nature of the group insurance contract. Still, there is no consensus as to the nature of the legal relationship arising from conclusion of a group insurance contract. The article concerns the proposal of normative regulation of group insurance contract.

Opis:
One of the key transformations South African universities have undergone in the past two decades is the increase of racial and ethnic diversity of their student bodies and academic staff. In this study, we seek to contribute to a better understanding of these transformation processes by presenting students’ narratives of how they experience the interracial integration of student residences. We first address the potential groupist and essential underpinnings of ethno-racial identifications by situating our categories of analysis in a social-constructivist framework, underlining the situational and processual character of identifying and establishing “groupness,” while simultaneously considering the obdurate quality habitualized ways of identifying may generate. We then present an overview of our sensitizing themes as they are discussed in the literature on race and ethnicity with a focus on South Africa and student experiences. Thirdly, the article introduces the reader to the institutional context of the case study, namely, the campus of the University of the Free State and its student residences. Based on focus group discussions and thematic analyses, we present our findings in the form of the cultural themes that are central to the students’ narrations of their experiences. These themes include the salience of racial and ethnic identifications, tolerant distance, confusion, fairness, neutrality, ethnolinguistic recognition, regional public arenas, rural-urban divides, as well as socio-economic divides.

The questionnaire included items aimed at finding out respondents’ opinions on the age composition of children in kindergarten classes. The research sample consisted of 234 female teachers. On the basis of results it can be stated that respondents preferred age-homogeneous groups in classes. However, those teaching age-heterogeneous classes saw more advantages of such division. Research results also showed that younger respondents preferred dividing children into age-homogeneous groups more than older respondents.

Every organization which offers products or services wishes to communicate with their customers in the most effective way. This kind of communication is based on proper selection of target groups which are identified in the process of market segmentation. Therefore, it is very important to ask the question to whom the message is to be directed and what kind of a message we want to convey. This article describes the selection criteria for target groups in the Centre of Competence for Novel Infrastructure of Workable Applications (C2NIWA) which is organized in the structures of the Gdansk University of Technology. It is a place that provides advanced IT platforms for the production of various types of applications. C2NIWA users have access to the most current knowledge in this field, advisory services, and tools to collaborate on IT projects. They needed to be divided into target groups and the communication methods were adapted to their specifics. The result of this process is the establishment of appropriate associations with the brand. The article presents the results of a short research showing what kind of associations were successfully built in one of the target groups by using a system of visual identification – the logo of the C2NIWA.

Polymer brushes containing epoxy groups were grafted onto a porous hollow-fiber membrane by radiation-induced graft polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate. N-Methylglucamino (NMG) groups for binding antimony(III) were introduced to the epoxy groups of the polymer brush using a range of reaction times. To determine the process of the introduction of NMG groups to the polymer brush, the water permeability through the membrane, the swelling ratio of the membrane, and the antimony(III) adsorptivity of the membrane were determined for different NMG conversion values of 0 - 76%. The water permeability and the swelling ratio indicated that the NMG groups reacted with the epoxy groups of the polymer brush on the outside of the base of the polymer first, and then with those inside the base of the polymer matrix. The molar ratio between the NMG groups and the antimony(III) adsorbed on the polymer brush was always 0.5, demonstrating that the NMG groups were introduced from the tail end of the polymer brush to the fixed end due to diffusion and reaction of the NMG groups along the polymer brush.

In these centuries-old rites, old Slavic pre-Christian customs are mixed with Christian celebrations. Our interest relates to a pagan custom performed in the time of Ottoman Macedonia in the19th century. Back then, the meeting of two such groups ended with bloodshed and the death of individuals caused by knives or sticks. The deceased were buried in the place where they were killed, thus there are rusalia, babar or jamalar graves in several locations.

The paper focuses on the origins, organizational structure and operations of corporate groups in Russia and their role in the economy. Corporate groups began to emerge and develop in Russia in the early 1990s in the wake of the privatization of state-owned enterprises, the author says. Their development was influenced by the so-called “loans for shares” program and a financial crisis in 1998. Most of Russia’s corporations have developed through either vertical or horizontal integration, and they also emerged in the form of conglomerates. Most corporations operate in industries such as oil, gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, power, metallurgy, steel and machinery. Characteristically, there are specific financial and interpersonal ties between representatives of individual companies within each group, Fiedorczuk says. In most Russian corporate groups, the main owners are oligarchs, or wealthy businessmen with an extensive network of political connections. Corporations play an important role in Russia’s economic, political and social life, the author notes. But they are also under heavy pressure from the country’s political authorities. As in other developing countries, corporate groups in Russia outperform single businesses in terms of financial and economic indicators. Overall, corporations may be an optimal response to market and government failures in a process of economic transition, Fiedorczuk concludes.

This article examines how Facebook groups in Sweden, that focus on the environment, address issues of sustainability. The research, conducted over a one-year period (May 2019–April 2020) combines mapping analysis, which identified a population of 152 environment-focused Facebook groups, and quantitative content analysis, which gives the overview of how these groups represent sustainability and human-nature relations. The analysis pointed to an overwhelming support for counterhegemonic, ecocentric positions, coupled with a strong critique against the hegemony of anthropocentrism. These findings relate to the general discussion concerning the potential of social media to function as spaces where hegemonies are contested and the vision of social change, in this case about the environment, takes shape, but also to the limitations of such possibilities.

An age appropriate, research-based systematic program that teaches a flexible strategy for decoding multisyllabic words may be the foundation for increased reading abilities of middle school male and female students struggling with grade level text. To meet this need, the REWARDS reading program (Archer, Gleason, & Vachon, 2000) was used with struggling 6th grade readers with learning disabilities (LD). The quasi-experimental research design used in this study is non-randomized control group (n = 20), pretest posttest design. The Basic Reading Inventory along with DIBELS measure of reading fluency were the instruments used to calculate findings. In a five week period, students' decoding levels increased by 1.72 grade levels, instructional reading levels increased by 1.45 grade levels, while the reading fluency rates were increased by 28% at instructional reading levels and 17% at grade level. Decoding ability was highly correlated to reading comprehension with the relationship of .88.

The main purpose of this paper is to analyse the interdependence between labour productivity and the occupational structure of human capital in a spatial cross-section. Research indicates (see Fischer 2009) the possibility to assess the impact of the quality of human capital (measured by means of the level of education) on labour productivity in a spatial cross-section. This study attempts to thoroughly analyse the issue, assuming that apart from the level of education, the course of education (occupation) can also be a significant factor determining labour productivity in a spatial cross-section. The data used in this paper concerning labour force structure in major occupational groups in a regional cross-section comes from a Labour Force Survey. The data source specificity enables the assessment of labour force occupational specialisation at the regional level and the estimation of this specialisation at the subregional or county level. An in-depth analysis of the occupational structure of the labour market in a spatial cross-section is an important theoretical and practical area of study necessary for the development of effective labour market policies and the education system.

Facebook groups enable their members access to diverse resources symbolic and material, scarce and free, exhaustible or renewable. Depending on the group’s objective, resources are co-used, gifted, bartered, swapped, freecycled or sold (bought) by users responding to the needs of others or satisfying their own needs. Based on posts collected through the Facebook’s Application Programming Interface (API), this study examines sharing of resources among Polish immigrants in Germany, Norway and United Kingdom, belonging to the public Facebook groups. Findings suggest that the most important resource shared by members of Polish immigrant groups on Facebook is job-related information. Moreover, Facebook groups appear to be a popular selling tool and less effective sharing space for Polish immigrants in Germany, Norway and UK. However, some sharing economy models such as freecycling, swapping and bartering are identified based on Facebook posts.

An inspiration for the analyses included in the article are anthropologists’ experiences in the execution of a project focused on activities which constituted an offer of direct support for migrants living in Poznań. The article includes a discussion of the specifi city of the cooperation between project executors and institutions which played a key role in both the stage of the project’s preparation and implementation. On the one hand, the text refl ects on the EU and the ‘semantic’ infl uence of EU grant programs on the perception of immigrants who are included in the category of individuals “endangered by social exclusion”. On the other hand, the article considers to the specifi city of the anthropologists’ cooperation with regional and local government institutions and their representatives. I focus on the aim of this cooperation on the dilemmas connected with the involvement in practical actions and forming local policy, and on the ways in which anthropology as a discipline might benefit from contact and cooperation with local governments.

The aim of this article is to present the main approaches to assertiveness training, which is an effective behavioural and cognitive intervention procedure in modeling the ability to behave assertively in diverse social situations (especially in work environment). For this purpose I would like to present a psychological comparative analysis of global and specific assertiveness in representatives of various Polish occupations. This project com pares ten different groups of employers constituted by The Polish Social Occupations Classification. The research done showed that there is the characteristic profile of assertiveness for each profession. Above observation gives us a strong argument not to use universal assertiveness training for everyone. The article discusses several consecutive stages of preparing a tool, which would facilitate assertiveness studies. Polarized Map of Assertiveness, a measuring tool adopted by me conforms to the principles of the polarized paradigm. Feasible validation procedures are also discussed and I proposed some methodological assumption for constructing questionnaires for the research this phenomenon. The final version of this tool constructed consists of a description of eight assertiveness dimensions.

Opis:
This article examines the nature of group identity in order to gain insight into the character and quality of intergroup contacts, particularly the conditions for positive contacts between members of different ethnic groups. An important conception underlying the discussion is that identity is not a stable construct or fixed essence, but rather is discursive in nature and turns upon how individuals and collectivities distinguish themselves in their relations with other individuals and collectivities. Both resemblance and difference are thus essential principles of social identity, while ethnic identity is distinct from culture and may be analyzed as a form of social organization. This heightens the importance of the degree of permeability of group boundaries, and of one’s relation with their own ethnic group, in minimizing prejudice and fostering interethnic relations. Analysis of field interviews with members of Bulgarian and Bulgarian Turkish ethnic groups provided the basis for the theoretical discussion concerning intergroup contacts. The interviews also serve to illustrate the inverse relationship between intergroup contacts and prejudices, as well as the fact that insofar as intergroup ethnic conflicts and perceived differences occur between narrative constructs, they can be transformed and resolved through openness towards differences and dialogue.

Opis:
Brak wyraźnych założeń programowych, a zarazem kontestacja i ironia wobec otaczającej rzeczywistości, wyzwala potrzebę zrobienia czegoś razem, a ta potrzeba przejawia się w akcjach artystycznych.
In the activities of artistic groups in Poland, over the decades after World War II, major changes can be noticed. The basic differences are in the areas of avant-garde - postmodernism. For avant-garde groups, the main goal of association was to change the world through art and a new vision of art. However, there is no postulate of far-reaching transformations in art in postmodernist groups - their common feature is action and performativity. Even if the group was involved in, for example, painting, the feeling of being together provoked group members to live action. In the avant-garde, the ideological element was strongly emphasized, the artists wrote manifestos, published magazines, and theory was of great importance to them, as is the case with the Film Form Workshop, which aimed to develop a new model for cinema and analyse the medium of film. From the eighties, elements of the neodada, which are particularly visible in the strategy of the Łódź Kaliska group, come to the foreground. Łódź Kaliska also engaged in theoretical activity, but its manifestoes are devoid of the seriousness of the avant-garde texts. In formations in postmodernist tendencies, one can observe an increase in the importance of social ties in group formation. Artists and artists no longer want to change the world through art, so they do not have to create collectives in which the common good is preferred to private sympathies. Groups are usually created by women and men of similar age, usually at the beginning of their careers. The driving force of creativity is a similar life situation and willingness to be together. As a result of joint meetings and experiences, the need to define a more formal activity and name the grouping is clarified. Hence, the names of these groups say nothing about the artistic orientation of members. The lack of clear programmatic assumptions, and at the same time the contestation and ironic approach to the existing reality, releases the need to do something together, which manifests itself in artistic actions. The action becomes a factor connecting the group, an opportunity to do something together, to manifest group identity, especially in the case of collectives, which do not include performers. At the time of the break-up of this type of group, individual artists give up their activity in performance art. The shift in the areas of interest of artistic groups is also important. The avant-garde, especially the pre-war one, proposing holistic social changes through art, focused on formal issues, on developing a new language of art. The postulate of shaping a new man by a new art, social art, however, remained a postulate only on paper. Paradoxically, it was only postmodern artistic groups, who no longer believed in the idea of the avant-garde, that realized the postulate of incorporating art into life. They did this using a participatory strategy - through spontaneous actions, in which often random recipients were involved. Although in recent decades, the basic meaning in the creation of artistic groups has been a social factor, mutual sympathies and similar sensitivity, and not programs and artistic postulates, we can still talk about the phenomenon of the artistic group. The factor that triggers its creativity and constitutes a group identity is action. Joint actions as a manifestation of being together, contribute to identifying artists as a group and perceiving it as a separate phenomenon on the artistic scene.

Hate speech is defined as verbal abuse against minority groups. Its emotional basis is contempt which activates anger and revulsion. Therefore, it seems to be justified to speak of “contempt speech and hate speech” as a spreading social phenomenon, in effect resulting in a generalised deterioration in attitudes toward minorities. The media and public figures play a huge role in promoting hate speech, and it is also fostered by the sense of danger accompanying the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to stop this process, we should start to perceive hate speech as a serious social problem, the conditions and consequences of which should be the subject of reflection and scientific studies.

Earthworms play an important role in the soil quality, including forest soils. Their presence in zooedaphone, as well as their abundance and species diversity, indicate the state of the soil profile. The species diversity of the representatives of this group of macrofauna in a beech forest in the Bieszczady Mountains is recounted in this article. Earthworms were investigated in the soil of four sites selected near Ustrzyki Górne in Carpathian Dentario glandulosae – Fagetum beech woods within the Bieszczady National Park (sites in D. g. Fagetum festucetosum, – typicum, – lunarietosum and – allietosum), every month during the annual cycle during two periods: a/ in 1986–1987 and b/ in 2009–2010. It was done according to the Zicsi’s recommendations, using the Zajonc combinated method, on each site, six 25×25×20 cm samples were extracted. The soil was divided into two layers (0–10 cm and 10–20 cm) and the earthworms were selected manually from them. From deeper layers, they were driven out with a weak (0.4%) formalin solution. In the 1980s, thirteen earthworm species were found (total of 1805 specimens) in the soil of four sites investigated. In a decreasing order of numbers there were: Dendrobaena alpina alpina (Rosa 1984), Allolobophora cernosvitoviana (Zicsi 1967), Aporectodea rosea rosea (Sav.,1826), Aporectodea caliginosa (Sav., 1826), Lumbricus terrestris L., 1758, Octolasium lacteum (Orley,1881), Allolobophora carpathica (Cog., 1927), Fitzingeria platyura montana (Cer., 1932), Octodrilus transpadanus (Rosa, 1884), Dendrobaena octaedra (Sav., 1826), Eisenia lucens (Waga, 1857), Lumbricus rubellus (Hoffm., 1843), Dendrodrilus rubidus tenuis (Eisen, 1874). Twenty years later, in the years 2009-2010, eleven earthworm species were found in the soil of the same four sites investigated (total of 660 specimens). There was no occurrence of L. rubellus, and O. transpadanus. For all the cited species, the vertical distribution dynamics in an annual cycle was investigated as well as the preferred soil layer in terms of soil profile. The features of the afore-mentioned earthworm species and the soil levels they prefer allowed their affiliation with the ecological groups defined by Bouche to be considered or determined. The knowledge on the association of earthworms to ecomorphological groups in natural or a slightly changed ecosystem is becoming very useful, for example at the time of the reclamation of degraded soils with Lumbricidae as bioindicators.

Morale is one of the most frequently recurring concepts in the media covering events from the country and the world. It is used by journalists and experts representing the scientific and military communities. The concept is also used by ordinary people commenting on the attitudes and achievements of various individuals and social entities, especially in situations of particular threats to human life and health. Since the term morale is used in different contexts and meanings, many different ways of understanding it can be noted. It can also be seen that approaches to the phenomenon of morale differ in time – interest in it decreases during peace and social stability and increases during conflicts, revolutions, or wars. For example, in the post-Cold War decade of the 1990s, known as the “end of history” or the “peace dividend” period, there was little scientific work on morale. But earlier, during the “Cold War”, such publications were numerously created in the West. From the emerging interest in the concept of morale in modern times, it appears that it is still valid and important.

The forest conditions in the Central Aimag of Mongolia, located in the southern part of the Baikal catchment area, near the southern border of the forest-steppe subzone, were examined within the framework of this study. The field materials collected in the summer 201–2018 at the Zuunmod Model polygon serve as the core of the study. An ecosystem map of the Model polygon with the scale 1:50 000 and the Key plot with the scale 1:5 000 was drawn up using World Viеw-2 satellite imagery data (2016). The proven method of botanical indication of forest growth conditions is as follows: identification of the ecologic and coenotic groups of plant species, calculation of the moisture coefficient based on the ratio of the number of species included in the groups characterizing the extreme conditions of the moisture gradient and distribution of communities in accordance with the values of the gradient in the ecological series. Communities of stages of ecological series serve as indirect indicators of the forest conditions: Stage I: Кu <1, insufficient humifying for tree growth, Stage II: Кu 1–2, average humifying, Stage III: Кu >2, sufficient humifying for tree growth. The stages also correspond to the landscape conditions and the character of the vegetation cover.

Introduction and aim. Purpose of the study is to determine whether it is required to use different standards when evaluating visual evoked potential (VEP) measurements of healthy individuals with different blood groups. Material and methods. The study consisted of healthy individuals with different blood groups who have applied to the ophthalmology and neurology outpatient clinic of Düzce University Medical Faculty from January to December 2022. The patients went through detailed ophthalmologic examination and VEP test and only the ones with normal results were included to the study. Results. The study consisted of 119 individuals, with a blood group distribution of 30 A, 29 B, 30 AB and 30 O. VEP latency and amplitude changes were compared and no significant difference was observed within 4 groups in terms of P100 and N70 latency and amplitudes. There was N70 latency prolongation in Rh- group and this difference was found to be statistically significant (p=0.009). Rh+ group was found to be high in terms of P100 amplitudes and this was considered statistically significant (both p=0.023). Conclusion. There was no statistically significant difference in the VEP parameters of the individuals with the ABO blood groups hence same VEP normal values can be used for ABO blood groups.

Opis:
The new borders and new ideology imposed on Poland in the aftermath of World War II significantly affected the ethnic structure of the state and the approach of its communist authorities towards minority groups. The pre-war Poland was a multi-national state where Poles represented about 69.2% of the population, the remaining 30.8% were the members of minorities – with the biggest communities of Ukrainians, Belarusians, Germans and Jews. According to the first, official, post-war census – the minority groups represented after 1945 already only 2% of the citizens of new Poland.

Let G be a group generated by r elements $g_1,…,g_r$. Among the reduced words in $g_1,…,g_r$ of length n some, say $γ_n$, represent the identity element of the group G. It has been shown in a combinatorial way that the 2nth root of $γ_{2n}$ has a limit, called the cogrowth exponent with respect to the generators $g_1,…,g_r$. We show by analytic methods that the numbers $γ_n$ vary regularly, i.e. the ratio $γ_{2n+2}/γ_{2n}$ is also convergent. Moreover, we derive new precise information on the domain of holomorphy of γ(z), the generating function associated with the coefficients $γ_n$.

Organised crime, in view of its nature, is very dangerous, and its extensive structure not only in Poland, but all over the world causes a great threat to ordinary people. In Poland, the main service established to fight crime, including organised crime, is the police. The fight against organised crime (of an economic, drug, criminal, terrorism-related nature, including cross-border crime) is handled by the police organisational unit set up in 2000 - the Central Bureau of Investigation. The purpose of the article is to present the police as a competent service in the fi eld of recognising, combatting and preventing organised crime.

The text addresses the problem of social changes related to the interpenetration of people with different cultures, religions, skills or nationalities in a common space, which also means that education is becoming more and more diverse in educational institutions. The transition from homogeneous groups to diverse groups in education has been and continues to be difficult due to many social, organizational and financial barriers. The analysis presented here relate to education for peace as a significant focus on a school (group) open to any individual difference as a resource for understanding oneself and the Other.

Opis:
The aim of the study is to analyse Local Action Groups as organizations capable of creating space for environmental education. The first part describes the different approaches to adult education and forms of learning. In this context, Local Action Groups are analysed as learning communities and organizations. The specificity of the operation of Local Action Groups is based on a combination of formal and three-sector partnerships and partnerships with residents. On the one hand, these partnerships are used to manage public funds for rural development, but the sense of establishing them is deeper. LAG members and management themselves come from the local community and should broadly represent its interests, but also to activate, engage and create space for the development of ideas, ideas and projects. The work methodology is based on research carried out as part of the expertise commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, especially on information obtained from individual in-depth interviews (IDI), on the basis of which detailed case studies of selected LAGs were described. The existing data were also analysed - RDP documentation, reports, and quantitative data obtained from the CAWI survey. The conclusions of the analysis show that Local Action Groups have the potential to create learning environments and transfer the assumptions of the Leader approach, especially bottom-up approaches and to promote participation in decisions on local development directions, but they do not fully use it.

Opis:
A description of manners of the identification of streets in manuscript documents, which the 17th and 18th centuries municipal year books were, is the subject of the article. Three types of phrases were analysed: the phrases with a sentence determiner, the phrases with a determiner in the form of the prepositional phrase and the phrases with a determiner in the form of adjective. The essential aim of the research is to establish possible semantic structures which were the semantic sources in the process of deriving the nominal groups that have become the street names. The results of the research are as follow: 1. streets were identified almost exclusively (apart from two cases) by deriving the semantic locative relation; 2. most of the locative relations were derived from the proper names taken from beyond the city area as in the case of the town of Gniezno; 3. in few nominal groups the locative relations were derived from the proper names that were in use in the city area as in the case of the town of Pobiedziska.

In the research on children’s articulation, several types of attempts to assess the implementation of phonemes are usually taken into account. An image questionnaire is a tool allowing us to study articulation. The purpose of using this kind of aid is to either indicate or exclude a speech disorder – in this case, for example, regarding the faulty implementation of individual phonemes. The article analyses quantitatively one of the phonological aspects of the lexical content of ten selected diagnostic tests used to study the articulation of children between the ages of three and seven. The studies include the occurrence of consonant groups, the attention to the position of the appearance of consonant clusters, their number in the lexical unit, and the quantity of consonant elements adjacent to each other.
