Opis:
Functional business valuation is the prevailing doctrine in the theoretically well-founded German-language literature, because the value of a company is primarily dependent on the purpose (function) of the valuation. This paper deals with one of the three main functions of business valuation: the argumentation function. This is where the argumentation value of the business is determined. The argumentation function is the function that has been the least theoretically developed and accepted to date, but is probably the most commonly used one in the real world. This article shows for the first time in the English-language literature the core ideas of the theoretical foundation of this function.

Japan ‒ the third economic power in the world – has been for over a decade, in a state of a prolonged stagnation spreading over the domains of its economy including the banking system. Japan’s participation in the II World War resulted in a humiliating defeat.. Japanese cities were completely demolished. Japanese industry and infrastructure were also totally destroyed. Yet, within the next two generations, Japan managed to succeed in economic achievements that were commonly known as “an economic miracle”. The completely ruined country, deprived of any natural resources, has become the world’s economic power, and the leader in many economic domains. The reason for is that Japanese people are characterized by strict obedience towards authorities, diligence, patience and a proper assessment of the post war political situation all over the world made by the Japanese government. Measured and systematic investments of the 60’s and 70’s of the 20th century, were carried out in traditional industries e.g.: metallurgy, textile industry, ship-building industry as well as more modern ones such as automobile and electronics industries. Good quality and reasonable prices of products soon gained popularity among external markets. During a rapid development of 1954-1971, Japan adopted an anti-import policy and closed its market for foreign goods. This policy as well as the well-thought-out strategy of development resulted in a dynamic economic development of the country. Therefore, Japan became an important Americanally in the geopolitical configuration of powers.

A Darboux-Bäcklund transformation is used to obtain a positon type solution of the nonlinear equations describing the propagation of coupled nonlinear optical pulses. This form of the positon solution is then compared with that obtained by the special limiting procedure applied to a two-soliton solution. It is observed that though the algebraic form of the two solutions is different yet both of these have singularities and the position of the singularities remains on the similar curve in the (x,t) plane. We also depict the form of these solutions graphically. Finally, it may be added that the method of Darboux-Bäcklund transformation is convenient for generating more than one-positon solution.

The $Zn_{1-x}Cd_xO$ ternary alloys with a narrow band gap, which are useful for light emitters in the visible wavelengths, are studied with respect to the unsteady region in mixing. This unstable region in mixing is calculated from the free energy of mixing using the strictly regular solution model. The interaction parameter used in this calculation is obtained by means of the valence-force-field model. An influence of the strain energy induced by substrate on the region of the spinodal decomposition for the $Zn_{1-x}Cd_xO$ system is studied and discussed.

A study concerning the image quality in Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Imaging (EPRI) in 2D spectral-spatial (2D SSI) experiments is presented. The aim of the measurements is to improve the signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the projections by applying a more consciously selected modulation amplitude parameter. Data is gathered by applying three constant and one adaptive modulation amplitude. The three fixed modulation amplitudes values are leading to undermodulated (0.01 G), partially overmodulated (0.15 G) and fully overmodulated (0.65 G) projections. The study demonstrates the advantages of the adaptive method, which involves selecting different and dependent on cosine function modulation amplitudes for each projection. The study is performed on a phantom containing four tubes of LiPc and TCNQ, characterized by a different peak to peak linewidth and spin concentration.

Magnetic properties of ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic thin-films structures for spin-valve applications have been studied. Multilayer structures of Ta/Co/IrMn/Ta and Ta/FeNi/IrMn/Ta were deposited on Si substrate at room temperature by DC magnetron sputtering. Thickness of the antiferromagnetic layer changed from 10 to 50 nm. The coercive force was found to be non-monotonic function of the antiferromagnetic layer thickness. The exchange bias for 30-50 nm antiferromagnetic layers (73 Oe) is about 10 Oe larger than for 10-20 nm antiferromagnetic layers. Moreover, it was demonstrated that the alternative sequence of the deposition (antiferromagnetic layer on the top or below the ferromagnetic layer) leads to dramatic changes of structures magnetic properties.

For BaCuS$\text{}_{3-x}$, K$\text{}_{3}$Cu$\text{}_{8}$Se$\text{}_{6}$ and KCu$\text{}_{3}$Se$\text{}_{2}$ the metal-insulator transition is observed with the low temperature phase being metallic, which is untypical, whereas K$\text{}_{3}$Cu$\text{}_{8}$Te$\text{}_{6}$ is a metal in the investigated temperature range. The temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility of the studied samples testifies to their diamagnetic or weakly paramagnetic behaviour.

The ESR spectrum of Dy$\text{}^{3+}$ ion in the low-symmetry RbDy(WO$\text{}_{4}$)$\text{}_{2}$ crystal has been studied in the temperature region of T=4.2 ÷ 30K. The ESR linewidth was found to increase from 130 mT up to the maximum value of 190 mT at T=9K and then to decrease down to 150 mT at 4.2K. The components of the g-tensor change considerably without change of their spatial orientation in the temperature range from 12K to 7 K: g$\text{}_{z}$=2.5, g$\text{}_{x}$≈0, g$\text{}_{y}$=1.41 at T>12 K; g$\text{}_{z}$=1.53, g$\text{}_{x}$≈0, g$\text{}_{y}$=1.2 at T<7K. The observed λ-shaped behaviour of absorption linewidth and the decrease in the g-factor are assumed to be due to the low-temperature structural phase transition (T$\text{}_{SPT}$≈9 K). The width of the transition area is of about 5K. It is suggested that the symmetry of high- and low-temperature phases is identical.

X-band electron magnetic resonance measurements of polycrystalline CaMn$\text{}_{1-x,y}$M$\text{}_{x,y}$O$\text{}_{3}$ (M = Ru, 0≤x≤0.5; M = Mo, 0≤y≤0.14) samples were performed at 120 K≤ T≤540 K. The observed anomalies of electron magnetic resonance parameters correlate pretty well with the temperatures of antiferro-, ferromagnetic-like, and orbital/charge-ordering transitions in these systems and specify phase diagrams obtained by other techniques. However, a strong difference between resonant properties of Ru- and Mo-doped series is observed in both paramagnetic and magnetically ordered states. To describe such a difference, the energy bands diagrams, which comprise the deep impurity t$\text{}_{2g}$-like states + e$\text{}_{g}$-like conductive band for CaMn$\text{}_{1-x}$Ru$\text{}_{x}$O$\text{}_{3}$ and shallow impurity states + conductive band, both having e$\text{}_{g}$-like symmetry, for CaMn$\text{}_{1-y}$Mo$\text{}_{y}$O$\text{}_{3}$, are proposed. Specific electrons' contribution to the electron magnetic resonance line width explains concentration and temperature dependences of this parameter in the paramagnetic state in considered systems.

Opis:
For some time it was believed that heavy-mass electrons at low temperatures, in special rare-earth and actinide compounds, were due to a particular suppression of magnetic order in these materials. Various experiments reveal, however, that magnetic order may occur from a heavy-electron state and that also a heavy-electron state may develop in the presence of a magnetically-ordered matrix. Even in materials with no sign of a cooperative phase transition, microscopic experimental probes give evidence for strong magnetic correlations, involving only very tiny (< 10^{-1} μ_{B}) ordered moments, however. All these experimental observations indicate that the heavy-electron state cannot always be regarded as a simple Fermi liquid in the usual sense. Various interactions of similar strength need to be considered. It is suggested that the balance of these interactions may lead to electronic inhomogeneities in k space. Both in magnetically-ordered or superconducting systems, unexpected electronic degrees of freedom appear to exist. In other cases experimental observations suggest magnetic inhomogeneities in real space which are not simply due to chemical inhomogeneities. Different examples of these various possibilities are demonstrated and discussed.

Thorium-217 was produced by the reaction ¹⁷⁰Er (⁵⁰Ti, xn) ^{220-x}Th. The nuclei were studied by Evaporation Residues gamma-alpha-gamma coincidence measurements (ER-γ-α-γ). The evaluated decay data for the ²¹⁷Th nuclide resulted from the above interaction is presented in this report. Three delayed γ-transitions (309, 673 and 1269 keV) have been measured from the ER-γ(-γ)-α correlations and γ-γ coincidences. They were assigned to ²¹⁷Th, based on the level systematics of the N=127 isotones. The evaluated half-lives T_{1/2} for these levels were assigned to be 64-₂₂⁺⁶⁴, 69-₁₇⁺³² and 66-₁₅⁺²⁷ μs, respectively. In addition, an isomeric state (2252+x) keV is presented in the ²¹⁷Th decay scheme between the 2252 (21/2+) and 2362 (25/2+) keV. Q (α) has been updated based on the recent published work of the Atomic Mass Evaluation AME2012 as well. Moreover, the total conversion electrons as well as the K-Shell to L-Shell, L-Shell to M-Shell and L-Shell to N-Shell conversion electron ratios have been calculated using BrIcc code v2.3.

MBE grown Ge_{1-x-y}Mn_xSn_yTe layers with Mn content ranging from 10 to 30% and Sn content ranging from 2 to 5% have been characterized with X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive X-Ray spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, SQUID magnetometry, and ferromagnetic resonance. All layers (except the one with the highest Mn and Sn content) were found to be single phase rhombohedral, with the distortion axis perpendicular to the layer surface, and ferromagnetic. Ferromagnetic resonance studies have shown that co-doping with a few percent of tin makes the lattice more rigid and changes considerably the magnetocrystalline anisotropy, from purely uniaxial in GeMnTe to distorted cubic in Ge_{1-x-y}Mn_xSn_yTe at the same Mn content.

The negative values of the paramagnetic Curie-Weiss temperature, θ, may suggest the weak antiferromagnetic coupling below 4.2 K. The temperature independent component of magnetic susceptibility has a positive value indicating a domination of the Van Vleck contribution. Calculations of the effective number of the Bohr magnetons revealed that the orbital contribution to the magnetic moment comes mainly from the $RE^{3+}$ ions.

The nanocrystalline mixed system $0.90(Fe_2O_3)$/-0.10ZnO has been prepared by coprecipitation and calcination processes. The phase composition of samples was determined by X-ray diffraction. The studied nanocrystalline sample is dominated by phase $Fe_2O_3$ but very small amounts of ZnO and $ZnFe_2O_4$ phases were also identified. The ferromagnetic resonance investigations of the obtained sample have been carried out in the temperature range from liquid helium to room temperature. The asymmetrical and very intense magnetic resonance line was recorded at all temperatures. A significant shift of spectra towards lower magnetic fields with decreasing temperature was observed. A very good fitting by two Lorentzian functions has been obtained which suggested the existence of a strong anisotropic magnetic interaction. Some similarities in behaviour of ferromagnetic resonance parameters of the present sample and the $0.95Fe_2O_3Fe2O3$/0.05ZnO sample were noticed but the parameters values were essentially different. The gradients Δ $H_{r}$/Δ T (where $H_{r}$ is the resonance field), the broadening processes of the resonance lines as well as the line amplitudes were changing more intensely changing with temperature in comparison to sample $0.95Fe_2O_3Fe2O3$/0.05ZnO. The following values Δ $H_{r}$/Δ T are obtained: 16.7(1) Gs/K and 20.7(1) Gs/K over the 60 K temperatures where below 40 K is 41.5(1) Gs/K and 56.0(1) Gs/K. The reorientation processes were more active at low temperatures for smaller concentrations of magnetic nanoparticles.

We report on the resonant detection of a 3.1 THz radiation produced by a quantum cascade laser using a 250 nm gate length GaAs/AlGaAs field effect transistor at liquid nitrogen temperature. We show that the physical mechanism of the detection is related to the plasma waves excited in the transistor channel. The detection is enhanced by increasing the drain current and driving the transistor into saturation regime. These results clearly show that plasma wave nanometer-size transistors can be used as detectors in all-solid-state terahertz systems where quantum cascade lasers act as sources.

Opis:
In the work phase transitions in bent-core liquid crystals were studied using differential scanning calorimetry. For the binary mixture of bent-core molecules with 50 wt% of rod-shaped compound, the nematic to smectic transition occured below 40°C and the crystallization temperature shifted to sub-ambient temperatures. The influence of doping of the bent-core liquid crystals with magnetic nanoparticles on the kinetics of observed phase transitions was studied. The phase transition temperatures were shifted depending on the nanoparticle type and changed with varying cooling rate for all studied liquid crystal samples.

Opis:
Magnetic resonance technique may successfully be applied to determine some basic parameters such as g-factor, magnetization M$\text{}_{s}$ or anisotropy energy constant K$\text{}_{u}$ in thin magnetic films. These parameters are obtained from a ferromagnetic resonance experiment when uniform precession of M$\text{}_{s}$ takes place. From spin-wave resonance one may extract very valuable information on the exchange constant A or the surface conditions characterized by the surface anisotropy energy (or pinning parameters ρ). In fact, it is only spin-wave resonance or similar techniques which allow for measurements of A, ρ or the coupling constant K$\text{}_{c}$ between ferromagnetic sublayers in multi-layered structure. The magnetic phase diagram, temperature dependence of the spin-waves stiffness constant, and the anisotropy energy constant may also be listed as less common examples of spin-wave resonance technique application for the investigation of thin films. This paper presents a theoretical approach to typical examples of experimental results and their interpretation from spin-wave resonance measurements.

We report on structural and magnetic properties of $Ni_{50}Mn_{50-x}Sn_x$ (x=12÷14) films and compare them with those of the bulk Ni-Mn-Sn alloys. Magnetic measurements reveal clear presence of martensitic transformation in bulk alloys but in the flash-evaporated Ni-Mn-Sn thin films martensitic transformation is usually less visible. The best film samples annealed for 1 h at about 900 K exhibit clear signs of martensitic transformation: i.e., a small defect in magnetization and a substantial increase in ferromagnetic resonance line width.

Low magnetic Reynolds non-thermal plasmas are sensitive to the Velikhov electrothermal instability when the Hall parameter exceeds the local critical value. Then the instability quickly grows and highly reduces the performance of MHD converters. After operating (International MHD Meeting, Warsaw 1968) the first high power density two-temperature - but short duration - MHD Faraday generator, using a first stabilization method, we presented a better one in the beginning of the eighties that was demonstrated through low pressure experiments (French Academy of Sciences, 1981; and 8th International MHD meeting, Moscow 1983). This second method was based on a non-uniform B-field and electrical tensor conductivity. It is time now to rebuild MHD activities all over the world as deserved, corresponding to progress of today's techniques. Different applications of this instability cancellation are presented.

We present results of FMR investigations of anisotropy distribution in uncoupled $[NiFe/Au/Co/Au]_N$ structures with alternating in-plane (NiFe) and out-of-plane anisotropies (Co). It is concluded that for NiFe layers anisotropy distribution is negligible and can be increased by "dusting" of NiFe with ultrathin Co layers. The perpendicular anisotropy $K_{U}^2$ of Co layers depends on Co thickness in a standard way ∝ 1/$d_{Co}$, and is distributed in a range of ≈10-20% of $K_{U}^2$ (i.e., ≈ 1.5× $10^6$ erg/$cm^3$).

Ferromagnetic resonance in glass-coated amorphous microwires FeSiB and CoFeSiB with the diameters varying from 133 nm to 25 μm and the glass thickness about 10 μm was measured at frequency of 9.5 GHz. Electric polarization of the wire can substantially amplify the microwave magnetic field on the sample surface. This allows us to achieve the threshold fields for nonlinear behavior with microwave power of only few mW. Above some critical value of incident power a distortion of central part of FMR curves is observed for FeSiB wires. For diameters less than 6 μm a series of sharp, nearly equidistant peaks appears with the period δH inversely proportional to the wire diameter. The phenomenon is explained by the parametric excitation of dipole-exchange modes via the first order Suhl spin-wave instability and the spin-wave confinement in very thin wires. In the CoFeSiB wires the nonlinear phenomena cannot be achieved even with the maximum power available (about 25 mW). It is probably because the threshold field is higher due to larger Gilbert damping constant and lower saturation magnetization of this alloy.

A binary mixture of bent-core and rod-shaped liquid crystals was chosen as a model substance combining the properties of both types of liquid crystals. The mixture was doped with a small amount of spherical and rod-like magnetic nanoparticles. Differential scanning calorimetry experiments were performed for the pure as well as for the doped mixture at different heating rates ranging from 1 to 16°C/min. The addition of the magnetic nanoparticles lowered the phase transition temperature. This effect is more intensive in the case of the rod-like magnetic nanoparticles. The kinetics of the nematic to isotropic phase transition was evaluated in the framework of the differential isoconversional method. The calculated apparent activation energy showed non-monotonic behaviour and a sensitivity on the shape of added magnetic nanoparticles.

Plasma enhancement chemical vapor deposition deposited experimental polymer-like carbon samples were irradiated with high energy electrons in the medical linear accelerator. The investigations of carbon coatings have been carried out using the Fourier-transform infrared, Raman and UV-VIS spectroscopies. Modification of the polymer-like carbon coatings is discussed in relation with radiation induced formation of free radicals and unsaturated bonds along with possible cross-linking processes.

Systems with a structure of hierarchical networks, consisting of simple units placed in the nodes and interacting along the edges of the network, are ubiquitous in the modern society and economy. In this paper the problem of signal detection and transmission in such systems in the presence of noise is analyzed from the point of view of stochastic resonance. As examples simple tree-like and more complex Ravasz-Barabási networks of interacting threshold elements are considered. It is shown that stochastic multiresonance is often observed, a phenomenon characterized by the presence of two or more maxima of the output signal-to-noise ratio as a function of the input noise intensity. The origin of the additional maxima, which occur for small noise intensities, can be related to the structure of the interactions, thus the observed phenomenon is an example of structural stochastic multiresonance.

Fine particles n(MnO)/-(1-n)ZnO (n = 0.05 to 0.95) were prepared by wet chemistry method. According to X-ray diffraction analysis the obtained samples with n = 0.95, 0.90, 0.80, 0.70, 0.60 contained $Mn_3O_4$ and $ZnMn_2O_4$ phases, while samples with n = 0.05, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.40 and 0.50 contained $ZnMnO_3$ and ZnO phases. The mean crystalline size of $ZnMnO_3$ varied from 8 to 13 nm. The magnetic resonance investigations have been carried out at room temperature. Slightly asymmetric, broad and intense magnetic resonance line is recorded for all samples. The magnetic resonance spectra parameters showed marked differences depending on the composition index n. This could be explained by the variation of the magnetic susceptibility and a much slower evolution of spin relaxation, associated with the interaction of crystal field and superexchange interactions. Taking into account the values of magnetic resonance parameters, the investigated samples could be divided into two groups: these with the composition index n<0.50 and those with n>0.50. A detailed discussion of the magnetic properties of different phases in the n(MnO)/-(1-n)ZnO system is presented.

System of two magnetic layers with nonuniform distribution of anisotropy parameter and exchange coupled by nonmagnetic spacer is studied by means of the Green function approach. Our attention is focussed on the elementary excitations and low temperature magnetisation behavior. The spin wave parameter B in the Bloch law $T^{3/2}$ is found as an oscillatory function of a spacer thickness. The effects of damping leading to non-zero line-width of ferromagnetic resonance peaks are also taken into account. As a result the dependence of resonance line-width on parameters characterizing system under consideration is obtained for the case of uniform anisotropy parameter and for quadratic distribution of this parameter in magnetic layers, respectively.

Ferromagnetic resonance study of magnetic anisotropy is presented for thin layers of IV-VI diluted magnetic semiconductor (Ge,Mn)Te with Mn content of 12 and 21 at.% grown by molecular beam epitaxy on BaF₂ (111) substrates. The layers with low Mn content grow in the rhombohedral crystal structure and exhibit perpendicular magnetic anisotropy whereas the layers with Mn content higher than about 20 at.% are of cubic (rock-salt) structure and show regular easy-plane type magnetic anisotropy. The quantitative analysis of the angular dependence of the ferromagnetic resonant field is performed taking into account the magnetic energy contributions due to rhombohedral distortion (axial term along the (111) growth direction of the layer) and the crystal field terms allowed for ferromagnetic systems of rhombohedral symmetry.

Some non-trivial phenomena in chaos in ferromagnetic resonance above the first-order Suhl instability threshold are obtained numerically from a simple model of three interacting modes. They include sudden changes of the correlation dimension of the attractor and the largest Lyapunov exponent with the rise of the rf field amplitude. Numerical evidence is provided that these effects may result from the on-off intermittency in the system of interacting modes. These results are qualitatively similar to the experimental ones, known from the literature, obtained for in-plane magnetized thin films.

General theory of nonlinear ferromagnetic resonance is presented for samples with the usual magnetostatic and exchange boundary conditions imposed at the sample surface. In such samples the Suhl instabilities and other nonlinear effects occur due to nonlinear interactions of magnetostatic or dipole-exchange modes. All relevant types of interactions are included in the Hamiltonian: with the pumping field, three- and four-mode ones. Analytic calculation of the Suhl thresholds in the three possible types of instabilities in perpendicular and parallel pumping is performed for the sample in the shape of a thin slab.

Opis:
A model of chaos in high-power ferromagnetic resonance in coincidence regime, based on three-magnon interactions of the uniform mode with a group of pairs of parametric spin waves, is investigated numerically. The results are interpreted from the point of view of chaotic synchronization theory. If all spin waves are identical, all of them are excited above the first-order Suhl instability threshold and in the chaotic regime their amplitudes show marginal synchronization, i.e. they differ only by a multiplicative factor, constant in time. If spin waves have slightly different instability thresholds, only one or few of them are excited. In the latter case, addition of weak thermal noise changes the results qualitatively. For low rf field amplitude, but above the threshold for chaos, still only few spin-wave pairs are excited above the thermal level. For higher rf field amplitude all spin waves in the group are excited, and their amplitudes are not synchronized. These results suggest that low correlation dimension of chaotic attractors, observed often in nonlinear ferromagnetic resonance, can be connected with chaotic synchronization among spin-wave amplitudes, in particular just above the threshold for chaos.

A model of parallel pumping with many interacting parametric spin-wave pairs is investigated numerically. On-off intermittency is obtained in the time series of absorption when the rf field amplitude is varied randomly in time, slowly in comparison with the rf field frequency, and when its mean value exceeds slightly the parallel pumping instability threshold. If the interactions between parametrically and thermally excited spin waves are neglected, only one parametric spin-wave pair is strongly excited and exhibits intermittent behaviour. In the opposite case a packet of parametric spin waves with frequencies close to half the pumping frequency may be excited. This modifies quantitatively, but not qualitatively the intermittency characteristics in the presence of thermal noise.

Opis:
We report study of current density-voltage (J-V) and capacitance-voltage (C-V) characteristics of Al/$Ta_2O_5$/Al metal-insulator-metal structures prepared by electron beam deposition. At low bias voltages the J-V characteristics of Al/$Ta_2O_5$/Al structures show ohmic conduction. At higher voltages the conductivity becomes limited by space charge. The space charge limited conductivity is due to carrier trap centers located within the energy gap of $Ta_2O_5$. The distribution of the trap appears to be exponential above the valence band. Basing on the comparison of the measured temperature dependences of the current density with the theoretical model one can determine important material parameters, such as the trap density. The density of states at the Fermi level $N(E_{F})$ for the $Ta_2O_5$ film is found to be 2.75 × $10^{19} eV^{-1} cm^{-3}$. The capacitance-voltage-temperature (C-V-T) characteristics of Al/$Ta_2O_5$/Al structures were carried out in the bias range -5 to +5 V and at temperatures from 300 to 550 K. The capacitance of Al/$Ta_2O_5$/Al structures increases with the increasing temperature.

Using cavity ferromagnetic resonance and vector network analyzer ferromagnetic resonance unidirectional, uniaxial and rotatable anisotropies were determined in permalloy(30 nm)/NiMn(56 nm). Resonance field dependence on in-plane angle clearly shows unidirectional and uniaxial anisotropy. Rotatable anisotropy, which acts as internal magnetic field independent of a direction of external magnetic field, is observed on vector network analyzer ferromagnetic resonance as upward shift of the resonance frequency of Py/NiMn compared to Py film. Even for a small exchange bias field, this shift is significantly large.

A review of experimental studies of magnon excitations in manganites is presented. Two kinds of techniques: the inelastic neutron scattering (in bulk materials) and the microwave resonance (in thin films) are considered. Experimental studies of spin dynamics by inelastic neutron scattering in metallic ferromagnetic manganites have shown that at low temperature for small wave vectors k → 0 the dispersion relation has a quadratic shape similar to that observed in Heisenberg ferromagnets. However, the above technique although very informative can be used only for sufficiently large samples of bulk materials. A complementary microwave resonance technique allows studying not only bulk properties, but also surface properties. There are two main theoretical approaches used to interpret the spin wave resonance spectra: the volume inhomogeneity and the surface inhomogeneity models. The last one introduced by Puszkarski has allowed for interpretation of the observed surface magnon excitations in thin films.

Opis:
Studies of positron annihilation accompanied by EPR technique were undertaken for sodalite and lazurite and their synthetic counterparts (synthetic sodalite and ultramarines). Results of measurements performed by two techniques of positron annihilation spectroscopy (angular correlation of annihilation radiation, ACAR, and positron annihilation lifetime) revealed the undoubted influence of free radicals on positron annihilation mechanism but both inhibition of positronium formation by them and the effect of filling cages ought to be taken into account. The distinct differences between ACAR curves for sodalites, lazurites and ultramarines probably reflect the presence of different radicals in their cages and chemical heterogeneity as well as the disorder in Al, Si-site ordering in case of ultramarines. Comparison of the results of ACAR measurements with the ones of the EPR studies indicates that there is correspondence between them. Similarly to three families of the ACAR curves, different likes of EPR lines were obtained for three groups of samples; sodalites, lazurites and ultramarines. It is possible that the annihilation of positrons takes place mainly with unpaired electrons recorded by the EPR technique.

Opis:
Numerical simulations of noise-free stochastic resonance and aperiodic stochastic resonance in chaotic ferromagnetic resonance are presented. The model, based on three-magnon interactions between the externally excited uniform mode and pairs of spin waves, shows on-off intermittency. The rf magnetic field amplitude is slowly modulated by a small periodic or aperiodic signal, and the output signal, which reflects the occurrence of laminar phases and bursts in the time series of spin-wave amplitudes, is analyzed. On variation of the dc magnetic field the signal-to-noise ratio of the output signal and the correlation function between modulation and output signal pass a maximum, which indicates the occurrence of periodic and aperiodic stochastic resonance, respectively. The role of thermal magnon excitations in the occurrence of this maximum is clarified. The results are compared with experimental findings obtained in other types of intermittency.

Opis:
Spin-wave resonance is a newly emerged method for studying surface magnetic anisotropy and surface spin-wave modes in (Ga,Mn)As thin films. The existence of surface spin-wave modes in (Ga,Mn)As thin films has recently been reported in the literature; surface spin-wave modes have been observed in the in-plane configuration (with variable azimuth angle $\phi_M$ between the in-plane magnetization of the film and the surface [100] crystal axis), in the azimuth angle range between two in-plane critical angles $\phi_{c1}$ and $\phi_{c2}$. We show here that cubic surface anisotropy is an essential factor determining the existence conditions of the above-mentioned surface spin-wave modes: conditions favorable for the occurrence of surface spin-wave modes in a (Ga,Mn)As thin film in the in-plane configuration are fulfilled for those azimuth orientations of the magnetization of the sample that lie around the hard axes of cubic magnetic anisotropy. This implies that a hard cubic anisotropy axis can be regarded in (Ga,Mn)As thin films as an easy axis for surface spin pinning.

We report ferromagnetic resonance study of the magnetization reversal in the exchange-coupled MnO/(Ga,Mn)As system. The low-field parts of ferromagnetic resonance spectra measured along [1/10] and [100] directions of (Ga,Mn)As were combined into hysteresis loops, which under field-cooling conditions similarly to SQUID loops are shifted toward negative magnetic fields. The magnetization reversal process revealed by the loops occurred remarkably asymmetric for both sample configurations.

Opis:
The signal coming from $SiO_{2}$ layer of MOS structure have large noise-to-signal ratio. This has two reasons - first: the dielectric layers have small Raman efficiency, second: the thickness of the dielectric layers are of the order of 10 nm, so the volume of the material irradiated with laser light is small. At the other side spectroscopic and optical data carry the information about important properties of the structure like mechanical stress. Distribution of mechanical stress introduce an important contribution to the electric properties of the electronic systems based on the MOS structures. Therefore, it is important to "distillate" the optical data from the noise. In this contribution the authors discuss some methods of denoising of the Raman signal. The discussed methods compare treatments like wavelet analysis or convolution. The work is illustrated with some examples of the extraction of the data coming from thin layers. The examples of application of the optical data in the description of the properties of the studied structures are presented.

In this study, a counter flow convection-type dryer was designed and manufactured. During experiments, four different geometrical forms of pepper specimens were dried in a complete (unsliced), perforated, crosscut, and longitudinally sliced forms. For each type of red pepper specimens, the experiments have been conducted at air velocity level of 0.5 m/s, relative humidity of 10-15%, and temperature of 55-60°C. The theoretical mathematical model of drying process was developed, considering the pepper's bottom surface to be isolated. The drying curves of experimental results are compared to ones obtained from the theoretical analyses. The comparison showed that experimental results are consistent with the theoretical model. The best results, considering the drying duration, are collected from the specimens sliced longitudinally, which were followed by the crosscut specimens, perforated and unsliced-complete specimens, respectively. 82% water (humidity) content in 500 g sample was reduced to 4% in longitudinally cut samples, 6% in crosscut samples, 7.5% in perforated samples and 8% in unsliced-complete samples, after 14 hours of drying. It is suggested that regarding to easiness of processing, the crosscut red peppers are more suitable, compared to the other geometrical forms.

Polymer-like carbon coatings can be used for the protection of micro-electromechanical devices functioning in chemically or radiation harsh environment due to their beneficial properties. Properties of carbon coatings depend on the method of synthesis, initial gas mixture, admixture of additives, temperature and other technological parameters. Modification of carbon structures is possible applying high energy electrons. Coating mechanical properties become almost stable after their pretreatment with some doses of high energy electrons. Polymer-like carbon coatings were synthesized from acetylene gas plasma on n-type silicon substrates in the RF plasmotron system at temperatures in the range 293-673 K using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition method. Series of samples were prepared and irradiated with high energy (6 MeV) electrons in a medical linear accelerator. The ellipsometric method was used for estimation of some optical parameters and thickness of synthesized coatings. Structural changes of polymer-like carbon coatings were evaluated using the Raman spectroscopy and surface morphology was assessed by atomic force microscopy. Electron beam induced structural changes in the coatings were analyzed using the obtained results. The relations between the synthesis temperature and samples structure and surface morphology are discussed.
