Opis:
The paper presents a new method of crisp and fuzzy interval comparison (ordering). The method is based on the probabilistic approach and the representation of fuzzy numbers as ordered a-level sets. It allows all the cases of interval location and overlapping to be taken into account, including the ordering of intervals and real numbers. Additionally, the method implicitly allows the widths of intervals to be used in ordering procedures. It should be noted that the probabilistic approach was employed only to infer the set of formulas needed to estimate quantitatively the degree to which one interval is less than or equal to another interval. However, the measure of this value may be treated as probability. Some simple examples are also presented to illustrate the technique's practical efficiency.

Opis:
In this paper, the S-curve membership function methodology is used in a reallife industrial problem in which there are various products, each of which requires a certain mix of raw materials selected from a set of available raw materials. This problem occurs in the chocolate manufacturing industry where decision makers and implementers play important roles that enable successful manufacturing of the products in an uncertain environment. The analysis in this paper tries to find a solution that helps a decision maker when deciding on what to implement. This problem is considered because it can be modeled with the help of fuzzy parameters (for example, the availability of raw materials is not always certain, and so can be treated as a fuzzy parameter). With 29 constraints and 8 variables the problem here is sufficiently large for the S-curve methodology employed because this methodology is applicable to problems with as few as 1 constraint and 1 variable. A decision maker can specify which vagueness parameter is suitable for achieving a revenue which through the analysis results in an initial solution that can be implemented. From the results of this implementation the decision maker can then suggest some possible and practicable changes in fuzzy intervals for improving the revenue. Within the framework of the analysis this interactive process has to go on between the decision maker and the implementer until an optimum solution is achieved and implemented.

In this paper, we extend one machine sequencing situations and their related cooperative games under fuzzy uncertainty. Here, the agents costs per unit of time and processing time in the system are fuzzy intervals. In the sequel, we define sequencing fuzzy interval games and show that these games are convex. Further, fuzzy equal gain splitting rule is given. Finally, a numerical example is illustrated priority based scheduling algorithm.

In the FSS paper 157 (2005, p. 34-51) we presented a game approach for solving MADM problems with fuzzy decision matrix. The results of the paper essentially depend on the assumption that the entries of the fuzzy decision matrix are triangular fuzzy numbers and dependent via a real parameter \lambda. In this paper we present a more general game approach for solving fuzzy MADM problems free of these restrictions. The entries of the decision matrix are assumed to be not necessarily dependent fuzzy intervals with bounded support as defined by Dubois and Prade.

Consideration of ultrasonic cleaning as a process with distributed parameters enables reduction of power consumption. This approach is based on establishment of control over the process depending on fixed values of ultrasonic responses in set points. The initial intensity of radiators is determined using a three-dimensional (3D) interval type-2 fuzzy logic controller essentially created for processes with distributed parameters, as well as complex expert evaluation of the input data. The interval membership functions for the input and output data consider the space heterogeneity of ultrasonic cleaning. A rule base is formed, which is 2D and not dependent upon the number of input and output parameters. A model illustrating ultrasonic cleaning with a 3D interval type-2 fuzzy logic controller is designed. Comparative analysis of the output parameters of the proposed model and the traditional method indicates an increase in the energy efficiency by 41.17% due to application of only those ultrasonic radiators that are located next to the contamination.

Opis:
Every event has an extent in time, which is usually described by crisp time intervals. However, under some circumstances, temporal extents of events are imperfect, and therefore cannot be adequately modelled by crisp time intervals. Rough sets and fuzzy sets are two frequently used tools for representing imperfect temporal information. In this paper, we apply a two-dimensional representation of crisp time intervals, which is called the Triangular Model (TM), to investigate rough time intervals (RTIs) and fuzzy time intervals (FTIs). With this model, RTIs and FTIs, as well as their temporal relations, can be represented as graphics (i.e. discrete geometries or continuous fields) in a two-dimensional time space. Compared to the traditional linear representation of time intervals, we found that TM provides a more compact and clearer representation of imperfect time intervals and relations. Moreover, temporal queries of imperfect intervals can be graphically addressed in TM, which is closer to human intuition than mathematical expressions. As human minds are more efficient in perceiving and processing graphic representations than numerical representations, we believe TM can be applied as a valuable assistant tool for analysing and reasoning about imperfect time intervals.

With respect to multiple attribute decision making problems with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy information, some operational laws of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, score function and accuracy function of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers are introduced. A combined optimization model based on the deviation method, by which the attribute weights can be determined, is established. For special situations, in which information about attribute weights is completely unknown, we establish another combined optimization model. By solving this model, we get a simple and exact formula, which can be used to determine the attribute weights. We utilize the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy weighted averaging (IIFWA) operator to aggregate the intuitionistic fuzzy information corresponding to each alternative, and then rank the alternatives and select the most desirable one(s) according to the score and accuracy functions. Finally, an illustrative example is given to verify the developed approach and to demonstrate its practicality and effectiveness.

This article proposes an algorithmic approach for multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems using interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy soft matrix (IVIFSM) and confident weight of experts. We propose a novel concept for assigning confident weights to the experts based on cardinals of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy soft sets (IVIFSSs). The confident weight is assigned to each of the experts based on their preferred attributes and opinions, which reduces the chances of biasness. Instead of using medical knowledgebase, the proposed algorithm mainly relies on the set of attributes preferred by the group of experts. To make the set of preferred attributes more important, we use combined choice matrix, which is combined with the individual IVIFSM to produce the corresponding product IVIFSM. This article uses IVIFSMs for representing the experts’ opinions. IVIFSM is the matrix representation of IVIFSS and IVIFSS is a natural combination of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set (IVIFS) and soft set. Finally, the performance of the proposed algorithm is validated using a case study from real life.

Recursive relationships are used for modelling problems coming from the real life, such as, for example, a relationship describing formal dependencies between employees of an enterprise, where creation of work groups and teams requires analysis of many elements. In conventional database systems, the precision of data is assumed. If our knowledge of the fragment of reality to be modelled is imperfect one should apply tools for describing uncertain or imprecise information. One of them is the fuzzy set theory. The paper deals with recursive relationships in fuzzy databases. The analysis is performed with the use of the theory of interval-valued fuzzy sets. A definition of a fuzzy interval recursive relationship has been presented. The paper defines different connections of entities which participate in such relationships. Operations of the extended relational algebra are also discussed.

Opis:
Fuzzy logic systems, unlike black-box models, are known as transparent artificial intelligence systems that have explainable rules of reasoning. Type 2 fuzzy systems extend the field of application to tasks that require the introduction of uncertainty in the rules, e.g. for handling corrupted data. Most practical implementations use interval type-2 sets and process interval membership grades. The key role in the design of type-2 interval fuzzy logic systems is played by the type-2 inference defuzzification method. In type-2 systems this generally takes place in two steps: type-reduction first, then standard defuzzification. The only precise type-reduction method is the iterative method known as Karnik-Mendel (KM) algorithm with its enhancement modifications. The known non-iterative methods deliver only an approximation of the boundaries of a type-reduced set and, in special cases, they diminish the profits that result from the use of type-2 fuzzy logic systems. In this paper, we propose a novel type-reduction method based on a smooth approximation of maximum/minimum, and we call this method a smooth type-reduction. Replacing the iterative KM algorithm by the smooth type-reduction, we obtain a structure of an adaptive interval type-2 fuzzy logic which is non-iterative and as close to an approximation of the KM algorithm as we like.

Some industrial data often come with uncertainty, which in some cases depends on the decision of those responsible for taking the measurement in the production process. While the fuzzy approach helps to tackle the ambiguity that arises in the measurement, an interval type-2 fuzzy set deals with such uncertainty better due to its flexibility over the control limits of its control chart. This paper aims to develop an Interval Type-2 fuzzy Exponentially Weighted Moving Average Control Chart (IT2FEWMA) under the fuzzy type-2 condition. This development will facilitate monitoring small and moderate shifts in the production process in conditions of uncertainty.

Recently, the methods of constructing and evaluating linguistic summaries have been based on Zadeh's fuzzy sets, which represent uncertain data. The main aim of the paper is to enhance and generalize the Yager's approach to linguistic summarization of data. This enhancement is based on interval-valued fuzzy sets. The newly presented methods enable handling fuzzy concepts, whose membership degrees are not given by real values explicitly, but are approximated by intervals in [0,1]. From now on, the Yager's approach can be viewed as a special case of the method presented in this paper. Finally, illustrative examples are presented.

Multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) is one of the most popular problems handled by researchers in the literature. Since the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set (IVIFS) theory generates as realistic as possible evaluation of linguistic expressions, researchers have been expanding traditional MCDM methods to the IVIF environment, especially in the last decade. This study provides a literature review of the relevant articles from several academic databases on applications of IVIF-MCDM methods. The review of 131 publications addresses specific research questions. To understand the research publication trend, this review offers a visual analysis that examines the studies from different perspectives, such as application areas, IVIF-MCDM methods, citations, most relevant journals, and validation methods. One of the most remarkable results of the literature review is that most publications in this field are published in SCIE indexed journals. Another noteworthy issue is that China is the country that produces the most articles in this field. In addition, English journals are mostly selected for the publication of articles. While it is seen that the investment selection problem is chosen mostly as the application area, the TOPSIS method is preferred mostly in the applications. This study stands out as the most comprehensive one that compiles publications containing extended traditional MCDM methods for IVIF sets. This review will be an important reference for future researchers and decision-makers involved in advancing MCDM methods considering vagueness and ambiguity.

Handwritten text recognition systems interpret the scanned script images as text composed of letters. In this paper, efficient offline methods using fuzzy degrees, as well as interval fuzzy degrees of type-2, are proposed to recognize letters beforehand decomposed into strokes. For such strokes, the first stage methods are used to create a set of hypotheses as to whether a group of strokes matches letter or digit patterns. Subsequently, the second-stage methods are employed to select the most promising set of hypotheses with the use of fuzzy degrees. In a primary version of the second-stage system, standard fuzzy memberships are used to measure compatibility between strokes and character patterns. As an extension of the system thus created, interval type-2 fuzzy degrees are employed to perform a selection of hypotheses that fit multiple handwriting typefaces.

Opis:
Among the risk assessment methods, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) is a popular, widely used engineering technique in many areas. It can be used to identify and eliminate known or potential failure modes to enhance reliability and safety of complex systems. In practice, risk estimations encounter difficulties connected with shortage of data. In such cases, we have to rely on subjective estimations made by persons with practical knowledge in the field of interest, i.e. experts. However, in some realistic situations, the decision makers might be unable to assign the exact values to the evaluation judgments due to his/her limited knowledge. In other words, there is a certain degree of hesitancy in human cognition and his/her judgment, who may have insufficient knowledge of the problem domain or uncertainty in assigning the evaluation values to the objects considered. In order to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty in the imperfect information, there have been recently proposed many various such theories as fuzzy sets, interval-valued fuzzy sets, type-2 fuzzy sets, hesitant sets, grey sets, rough sets and intuitionistic fuzzy sets. They have drawn more and more attention of scholars and been adopted in many applications This article addresses the Atanassov’s interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets and FMEA methods in the risk estimation of the system failures based on the expert judgments.

The main aim of the work is introducing an operation of raising intuitionistic fuzzy values to intuitionistic fuzzy power, which not requiring to conversion of intuitionistic fuzzy values. Introducing an operation of raising intuitionistic fuzzy values to intuitionistic fuzzy power, which does not require conversion of intuitionistic fuzzy values is the main aim of the work. It is known that, in the classical intuitionistic fuzzy sets theory, the use of all aggregation modes is not always possible because of the lack of definition of raising intuitionistic fuzzy values to intuitionistic fuzzy power. Therefore, the specific aim of the work is to present the heuristic method of raising intuitionistic fuzzy values to intuitionistic fuzzy power, and the consideration of its properties.

The analysis of field lifetime data is much more complicated than the analysis of the results of reliability laboratory tests. In the paper we present an overview of the most important problems of the statistical analysis of field lifetime data, and present their solutions known from literature. When the input information is partial or imprecise, we propose to use interval arithmetics for the calculation of bounds on reliability characteristics of interest. When this information can be described in a more informative fuzzy form, we can generalize our interval-valued results to their fuzzy equivalents.

The paper presents various methods of solving systems of linear equations under conditions of uncertainty. In a situation when the parameters of such systems cannot be precisely determined with real numbers, they can be represented by interval numbers, fuzzy numbers or ordered fuzzy numbers. Solutions of systems of linear equations with such representations of parameters are shown in the example of Leontief input-output model. It has also been shown that when ordered fuzzy numbers are applied, their additional feature – orientation – can broaden and deepen economic analysis.

The paper proposes a robust faults detection and forecasting approach for a centrifugal gas compressor system, the mechanism of this approach used the Kalman filter to estimate and filtering the unmeasured states of the studied system based on signals data of the inputs and the outputs that have been collected experimentally on site. The intelligent faults detection expert system is designed based on the interval type-2 fuzzy logic. The present work is achieved by an important task which is the prediction of the remaining time of the system under study to reach the danger and/or the failure stage based on the Auto-regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model, where the objective within the industrial application is to set the maintenance schedules in precisely time. The obtained results prove the performance of the proposed faults diagnosis and detection approach which can be used in several heavy industrial systems.

Opis:
Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a well-known method that based on inputs and outputs calculates the efficiency of decision-making units (DMUs). Comparing the efficiency and ranking of DMUs in different periods lets the decision-makers prevent any loss in the productivity of units and improve the production planning. Despite the merits of DEA models, they are not able to forecast the efficiency of future periods with known input/output records of the DMUs. With this end in view, this study aims at proposing a forecasting algorithm with a 95% confidence interval to generate fuzzy data sets for future periods. Moreover, managers’ opinions are inserted in the proposed forecasting model. Equipped with the forecasted data sets and concerning the data sets from earlier periods, this model can rightly forecast the efficiency of the future periods. The proposed procedure also employs the simple geometric mean to discriminate between efficient units. Examples from a real case including 20 automobile firms show the applicability of the proposed algorithm.

In many manufacturing segments, container terminals and shipping yards the automation of material handling systems is an important element of enhancing productivity, safety and efficiency. The fast, precise and safe transfer of goods in crane operations requires a control application solving the problems, including non-collision trajectory planning and limitation of payload oscillations. The paper presents the interval arithmetic-based method of designing a discrete-time closed-loop anti-sway crane control system based on the fuzzy interpolation of linear controller parameters. The interval analysis of a closed-loop control system characteristic polynomial coefficients deviation from their nominal values is proposed to define a minimum number of fuzzy sets on the scheduling variables universe of discourse and to determine the distribution of triangular-shaped membership functions parameters, which satisfy the acceptable range of performances deterioration in the presence of the system’s parameters variation. The effectiveness of this method was proved in experiments conducted using the PAC system on the laboratory scaled overhead crane.

Civil engineering is one of the many fields of occurrences of uncertain parameters. The present paper in an attempt to present and describe the most common methods used for inclusions of uncertain parameters . These methods can be applied in the area of civil engineering as well as for a larger domain. Definitions and short explanations of methods based on probability, interval analysis, fuzzy sets, and convex sets are presented. Selected advantages, disadvantages, and the most common fields of implementation are indicated. An example of a cantilever beam presented in this paper shows the main differences between the methods. Results of the performed analysis indicate that the use of convex sets allows us to obtain an accuracy of results similar to stochastic models. At the same time, the computational speed characteristic for interval methods is maintained.

The paper presents the formulation of a granular computational homogenisation problem and the proposition of a method to solve it, which enables multiscale analysis of materials with uncertain microstructure parameters. The material parameters and the geometry, represented by the interval and fuzzy numbers, are assumed to be unprecise. An _-cut representation of fuzzy numbers allows the use of interval arithmetic for epistemic uncertainties. Directed interval arithmetic is used to reduce the effect of interval widening during arithmetic operations. Response surfaces of diverse types, including Artificial Neural Networks, are used as model reduction methods. The finite element method is employed to solve the boundary value problem on a micro scale. Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) technique and approach have been a trending topic in decision making and systems engineering to choosing the probable optimal options. The primary purpose of this article is to develop prioritized operators to multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) based on Archimedean t-conorm and t-norms (At-CN&t-Ns) under interval-valued dual hesitant fuzzy (IVDHF) environment. A new score function is defined for finding the rank of alternatives in MCDM problems with IVDHF information based on priority levels of criteria imposed by the decision maker. This paper introduces two aggregation operators: At-CN&t-N-based IVDHF prioritized weighted averaging (AIVDHFPWA), and weighted geometric (AIVDHFPWG) aggregation operators. Some of their desirable properties are also investigated in details. A methodology for prioritization-based MCDM is derived under IVDHF information. An illustrative example concerning MCDM problem about a Chinese university for appointing outstanding oversea teachers to strengthen academic education is considered. The method is also applicable for solving other real-life MCDM problems having IVDHF information.

Interval-valued data can find their practical applications in such situations as recording monthly interval temperatures at meteorological stations, daily interval stock prices, etc. The primary objective of the presented paper is to compare three different methods of fuzzy clustering for interval-valued symbolic data, i.e.: fuzzy c-means clustering, adaptive fuzzy c-means clustering and fuzzy k-means clustering with fuzzy spectral clustering. Fuzzy spectral clustering combines both spectral and fuzzy approaches in order to obtain better results (in terms of Rand index for fuzzy clustering). The conducted simulation studies with artificial and real data sets confirm both higher usefulness and more stable results of fuzzy spectral clustering method, as compared to other existing fuzzy clustering methods for symbolic interval-valued data, when dealing with data featuring different cluster structures, noisy variables and/or outliers.

The linear parameter-varying (LPV) discrete-time model based design of a fuzzy scheduling control scheme is developed through incorporating the advantages of P1-TS theory, and applying the local pole placement method and interval analysis of closed-loop system polynomial coefficients. The synthesis of fuzzy scheduling control scheme is proposed in the form of iterative procedure, which enables to find the appropriate number of intervals of a fuzzy interpolator ensuring that a family of local linear controllers places closed-loop polynomial coefficients within a desired range. The computational complexity of multidimensional fuzzy scheduling control scheme synthesis is reduced using a fundamental matrix method and recursive procedure for fuzzy rule-based interpretation. The usability of the proposed method is illustrated by an implementation example and experimental results obtained on a laboratory scaled overhead crane.

In this paper a description of heat transfer in one-dimensional crystalline solids is presented. The fuzzy lattice Boltzmann method based on the Boltzmann transport equation is used to simulate the nanoscale heat transport in thin metal films. The fuzzy coupled lattice Boltzmann equations for electrons and phonons are applied to analyze the heating process of thin metal films via a laser pulse. Such an approach in which the parameters appearing in the problem analyzed are treated as constant values is widely used. Here, the model with fuzzy values of relaxation times and an electron-phonon coupling factor is taken into account. The problem formulated has been solved by means of the fuzzy lattice Boltzmann method using the α-cuts and the rules of directed interval arithmetic. The application of α-cuts allows one to avoid complicated arithmetical perations in the fuzzy numbers set. In the final part of the paper the results of numerical computations are shown.

:Accurate prediction of power load plays a crucial role in the power industry and provides economic operation decisions for the power operation department. Due to the unpredictability and periodicity of power load, an improved method to deal with complex nonlinear relation was adopted, and a short-term load forecasting model combining FEW (fuzzy exponential weighting) and IHS (improved harmonic search) algorithms was proposed. Firstly, the domain space was defined, the harmony memory base was initialized, and the fuzzy logic relation was identified. Then the optimal interval length was calculated using the training sample data, and local and global optimum were updated by optimization criteria and judging criteria. Finally, the optimized parameters obtained by an IHS algorithm were applied to the FEW model and the load data of the Huludao region (2013) in Northeast China in May. The accuracy of the proposed model was verified using an evaluation criterion as the fitness function. The results of error analysis show that the model can effectively predict short-term power load data and has high stability and accuracy, which provides a reference for application of short-term prediction in other industrial fields.

In traditional statistics all parameters of the mathematical model and possible observations should be well defined. Sometimes such assumption appears too rigid for the real-life problems, especially when dealing with imprecise or linguistic data. To relax this rigidity fuzzy methods are incorporated into statistics. This paper is devoted to statistical inference about the population median in the presence of vague data. We propose the notion of fuzzy median. Then we suggest a fuzzy estimator and fuzzy confidence interval for the median. Next we discuss the problem of hypothesis testing concerning the median in the presence of imprecise data. All methods presented are distribution-free.

In modern society, people concern more about the evaluation of medical service quality. Evaluation of medical service quality is helpful for medical service providers to supervise and improve their service quality. Also, it will help the public to understand the situation of different medical providers. As a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem, evaluation of medical service quality can be effectively solved by aggregation operators in interval-valued q-rung dual hesitant fuzzy (IVq-RDHF) environment. Thus, this paper proposes interval-valued q-rung dual hesitant Maclaurin symmetric mean (IVq-RDHFMSM) operator and interval-valued q-rung dual hesitant weighted Maclaurin symmetric mean (IVq-RDHFWMSM) operator. Based on the proposed IVq-RDHFWMSM operator, this paper builds a novel approach to solve the evaluation problem of medical service quality including a criteria framework for the evaluation of medical service quality and a novel MCDM method. What’s more, aiming at eliminating the discordance between decision information and weight vector of criteria determined by decisionmakers (DMs), this paper proposes the concept of cross-entropy and knowledge measure in IVq-RDHF environment to extract weight vector from DMs’ decision information. Finally, this paper presents a numerical example of the evaluation of medical service for hospitals to illustrate the availability of the novel method and compares our method with other MCDM methods to demonstrate the superiority of our method. According to the comparison result, our method has more advantages than other methods.

Opis:
This paper presents research on applications of fuzzy logic and higher-order fuzzy logic systems to control filters reducing air pollution [1]. The filters use Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) method and, as for now, this process is controlled manually by a human expert. The goal of the research is to control an SCR system responsible for emission of nitrogen oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) to the air, using SCR with ammonia (NH3). There are two higher-order fuzzy logic systems presented, applying interval-valued fuzzy sets and type-2 fuzzy sets, respectively. Fuzzy sets and higher order fuzzy sets describe linguistically levels of nitrogen oxides as the input, and settings of ammonia valve in the air filter as the output. The obtained results are consistent with data provided by experts. Besides, we show that the type-2 fuzzy logic controllers allows us to obtain results much closer to desired parameters of the ammonia valve, than traditional FLS.

Opis:
Reliability-based design optimization under fuzzy and interval variables is important in engineering practice. The interval Monte Carlo simulation (IMCS), extremum method, and saddlepoint approximation (SPA) can be used for reliability optimization issues contain only interval variables. Thus, how to deal with the fuzzy variables is critical for system reliability analysis and optimization design. The α-level cut method can be applied to deal with fuzzy variables but it is complex and computationally expensive. Therefore, an equivalent conversion method based on entropy theory is proposed in this paper, which can convert the fuzzy variables to the normal random variables to avoid the complex integral process. According to the equivalent conversion method, the entropybased sequential optimization and reliability assessment (E-SORA) is developed in combination with the worst case analysis (WCA) for reliability-based design optimization under fuzzy and interval variables. A numerical example about the reliability design of the crank-link mechanism under fuzzy and interval variables is solved by the E-SORA, double-loops method, and α-level cut algorithm, respectively, is used to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency, and the results show that the proposed method is feasible for reliability-based design optimization under fuzzy and interval variables.
Zagadnienie optymalizacji niezawodnościowej konstrukcji w przypadkach, gdy mamy do czynienia ze zmiennymi rozmytymi i przedziałowymi odgrywa ważną rolę w praktyce inżynierskiej. W oparciu o tę metodę, opracowano entropijną metodę optymalizacji sekwencyjnej i oceny niezawodności (ESORA), którą, w połączeniu z analizą najgorszego przypadku, można stosować do niezawodnościowej optymalizacji konstrukcji przy zmiennych rozmytych i przedziałowych. W przykładzie numerycznym, metodę E-SORA zastosowano w połączeniu z metodą podwójnej pętli do rozwiązania problemu niezawodnościowego projektowania mechanizmu korbowego przy zmiennych rozmytych i przedziałowych. Trafność i skuteczność proponowanej metody oceniano za pomocą algorytmu alfa-przekrojów. Wyniki pokazują, że proponowana metoda stanowi odpowiednie narzędzie do przeprowadzania optymalizacji niezawodnościowej konstrukcji w przypadku gdy zmienne mają charakter rozmyty i przedziałowy.

Opis:
A hybrid method combining an evolutionary search strategy, interval mathematics and pole assignment-based closed-loop control synthesis is proposed to design a robust TSK fuzzy controller. The design objective is to minimize the number of linear controllers associated with rule conclusions and tune the triangular-shaped membership function parameters of a fuzzy controller to satisfy stability and desired dynamic performances in the presence of system parameter variation. The robust performance objective function is derived based on an interval Diophantine equation. Thus, the objective of a fuzzy logic-based control scheme is to place all the closed-loop control system characteristic polynomial coefficients within desired intervals. The reproduction process in the proposed Evolutionary Algorithm (EA) is based on the arithmetical crossover, uniform and non-uniform mutation along with gene deletion/insertion mutation ensuring a diversity of genomes sizes, as well as a diversity in the parameter space of membership functions. The proposed algorithm was implemented to design a fuzzy logic-based anti-sway crane control system taking into consideration the rope length and the mass of a payload variation. The results of experiments conducted using the EA for different conditions assumed for system parameter intervals and desired closed-loop system performances are compared with results achieved using the iterative procedure which is also described in the paper.
