Opis:
The paper presents a new method of crisp and fuzzy interval comparison (ordering). The method is based on the probabilistic approach and the representation of fuzzy numbers as ordered a-level sets. It allows all the cases of interval location and overlapping to be taken into account, including the ordering of intervals and real numbers. Additionally, the method implicitly allows the widths of intervals to be used in ordering procedures. It should be noted that the probabilistic approach was employed only to infer the set of formulas needed to estimate quantitatively the degree to which one interval is less than or equal to another interval. However, the measure of this value may be treated as probability. Some simple examples are also presented to illustrate the technique's practical efficiency.

Opis:
In this paper, the S-curve membership function methodology is used in a reallife industrial problem in which there are various products, each of which requires a certain mix of raw materials selected from a set of available raw materials. This problem occurs in the chocolate manufacturing industry where decision makers and implementers play important roles that enable successful manufacturing of the products in an uncertain environment. The analysis in this paper tries to find a solution that helps a decision maker when deciding on what to implement. This problem is considered because it can be modeled with the help of fuzzy parameters (for example, the availability of raw materials is not always certain, and so can be treated as a fuzzy parameter). With 29 constraints and 8 variables the problem here is sufficiently large for the S-curve methodology employed because this methodology is applicable to problems with as few as 1 constraint and 1 variable. A decision maker can specify which vagueness parameter is suitable for achieving a revenue which through the analysis results in an initial solution that can be implemented. From the results of this implementation the decision maker can then suggest some possible and practicable changes in fuzzy intervals for improving the revenue. Within the framework of the analysis this interactive process has to go on between the decision maker and the implementer until an optimum solution is achieved and implemented.

In sequencing situations, it may affect parameters used to determine an optimal order in the queue, and consequently the decision of whether (or not) to rearrange the queue by sharing the realized cost savings. In this paper, we extend one machine sequencing situations and their related cooperative games under fuzzy uncertainty. Here, the agents costs per unit of time and processing time in the system are fuzzy intervals. In the sequel, we define sequencing fuzzy interval games and show that these games are convex. Further, fuzzy equal gain splitting rule is given. Finally, a numerical example is illustrated priority based scheduling algorithm.

In the FSS paper 157 (2005, p. 34-51) we presented a game approach for solving MADM problems with fuzzy decision matrix. The results of the paper essentially depend on the assumption that the entries of the fuzzy decision matrix are triangular fuzzy numbers and dependent via a real parameter \lambda. In this paper we present a more general game approach for solving fuzzy MADM problems free of these restrictions. The entries of the decision matrix are assumed to be not necessarily dependent fuzzy intervals with bounded support as defined by Dubois and Prade.

Opis:
Consideration of ultrasonic cleaning as a process with distributed parameters enables reduction of power consumption. This approach is based on establishment of control over the process depending on fixed values of ultrasonic responses in set points. The initial intensity of radiators is determined using a three-dimensional (3D) interval type-2 fuzzy logic controller essentially created for processes with distributed parameters, as well as complex expert evaluation of the input data. The interval membership functions for the input and output data consider the space heterogeneity of ultrasonic cleaning. A rule base is formed, which is 2D and not dependent upon the number of input and output parameters. A model illustrating ultrasonic cleaning with a 3D interval type-2 fuzzy logic controller is designed. Comparative analysis of the output parameters of the proposed model and the traditional method indicates an increase in the energy efficiency by 41.17% due to application of only those ultrasonic radiators that are located next to the contamination.

Opis:
Every event has an extent in time, which is usually described by crisp time intervals. However, under some circumstances, temporal extents of events are imperfect, and therefore cannot be adequately modelled by crisp time intervals. Rough sets and fuzzy sets are two frequently used tools for representing imperfect temporal information. In this paper, we apply a two-dimensional representation of crisp time intervals, which is called the Triangular Model (TM), to investigate rough time intervals (RTIs) and fuzzy time intervals (FTIs). With this model, RTIs and FTIs, as well as their temporal relations, can be represented as graphics (i.e. discrete geometries or continuous fields) in a two-dimensional time space. Compared to the traditional linear representation of time intervals, we found that TM provides a more compact and clearer representation of imperfect time intervals and relations. Moreover, temporal queries of imperfect intervals can be graphically addressed in TM, which is closer to human intuition than mathematical expressions. As human minds are more efficient in perceiving and processing graphic representations than numerical representations, we believe TM can be applied as a valuable assistant tool for analysing and reasoning about imperfect time intervals.

In this paper we propose the notion of interval valued Fermatean fuzzy et. It is a pair of intevral numbers such that the sum of the ccubic of the upper bounds should be less than or equal to one. Some basic properties based on interval valued Feramtean fuzzy set is studied. We introduce the concept of interval valued Feramtean fuzzy Γ - subsemihypergroup, interval valued Feramtean fuzzy (bi, interior) Γ - hypersemigroup. Relation between these Γ - hyperideals are also discussed with suitable examples. Finally the inverse image of an interval valued Feramtean fuzzy set is established and also proved that the inverse image of an interval valued Feramtean fuzzy (bi, interior) Γ - hyperideal is also an interval valued Feramtean fuzzy (bi, interior) Γ - hyperideal.

With respect to multiple attribute decision making problems with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy information, some operational laws of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, score function and accuracy function of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers are introduced. A combined optimization model based on the deviation method, by which the attribute weights can be determined, is established. For special situations, in which information about attribute weights is completely unknown, we establish another combined optimization model. By solving this model, we get a simple and exact formula, which can be used to determine the attribute weights. We utilize the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy weighted averaging (IIFWA) operator to aggregate the intuitionistic fuzzy information corresponding to each alternative, and then rank the alternatives and select the most desirable one(s) according to the score and accuracy functions. Finally, an illustrative example is given to verify the developed approach and to demonstrate its practicality and effectiveness.

Opis:
This article proposes an algorithmic approach for multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems using interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy soft matrix (IVIFSM) and confident weight of experts. We propose a novel concept for assigning confident weights to the experts based on cardinals of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy soft sets (IVIFSSs). The confident weight is assigned to each of the experts based on their preferred attributes and opinions, which reduces the chances of biasness. Instead of using medical knowledgebase, the proposed algorithm mainly relies on the set of attributes preferred by the group of experts. To make the set of preferred attributes more important, we use combined choice matrix, which is combined with the individual IVIFSM to produce the corresponding product IVIFSM. This article uses IVIFSMs for representing the experts’ opinions. IVIFSM is the matrix representation of IVIFSS and IVIFSS is a natural combination of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set (IVIFS) and soft set. Finally, the performance of the proposed algorithm is validated using a case study from real life.

Recursive relationships are used for modelling problems coming from the real life, such as, for example, a relationship describing formal dependencies between employees of an enterprise, where creation of work groups and teams requires analysis of many elements. In conventional database systems, the precision of data is assumed. If our knowledge of the fragment of reality to be modelled is imperfect one should apply tools for describing uncertain or imprecise information. One of them is the fuzzy set theory. The paper deals with recursive relationships in fuzzy databases. The analysis is performed with the use of the theory of interval-valued fuzzy sets. A definition of a fuzzy interval recursive relationship has been presented. The paper defines different connections of entities which participate in such relationships. Operations of the extended relational algebra are also discussed.

Opis:
Fuzzy logic systems, unlike black-box models, are known as transparent artificial intelligence systems that have explainable rules of reasoning. Type 2 fuzzy systems extend the field of application to tasks that require the introduction of uncertainty in the rules, e.g. for handling corrupted data. Most practical implementations use interval type-2 sets and process interval membership grades. The key role in the design of type-2 interval fuzzy logic systems is played by the type-2 inference defuzzification method. In type-2 systems this generally takes place in two steps: type-reduction first, then standard defuzzification. The only precise type-reduction method is the iterative method known as Karnik-Mendel (KM) algorithm with its enhancement modifications. The known non-iterative methods deliver only an approximation of the boundaries of a type-reduced set and, in special cases, they diminish the profits that result from the use of type-2 fuzzy logic systems. In this paper, we propose a novel type-reduction method based on a smooth approximation of maximum/minimum, and we call this method a smooth type-reduction. Replacing the iterative KM algorithm by the smooth type-reduction, we obtain a structure of an adaptive interval type-2 fuzzy logic which is non-iterative and as close to an approximation of the KM algorithm as we like.

Some industrial data often come with uncertainty, which in some cases depends on the decision of those responsible for taking the measurement in the production process. While the fuzzy approach helps to tackle the ambiguity that arises in the measurement, an interval type-2 fuzzy set deals with such uncertainty better due to its flexibility over the control limits of its control chart. This paper aims to develop an Interval Type-2 fuzzy Exponentially Weighted Moving Average Control Chart (IT2FEWMA) under the fuzzy type-2 condition. This development will facilitate monitoring small and moderate shifts in the production process in conditions of uncertainty.
