Opis:
Education is an important element that cannot be neglected or omitted in a conscious and responsible society. This is a prerequisite for thinking about the country’s development in the economic and social spheres. The educational system is subject to frequent changes and turmoil in Poland, which are related to politicians’ decisions. At present, the Polish educational system introduces a significant reform. The purpose of this article is to analyze the responses of the surveyed teachers who participated in the study on the predicted effects of the changes. The publication also contains a number of postulates whose introduction may contribute to a significant improvement of the education system in Poland.

Preceded by the debate, the 2016 implementation of the school reform in Poland brought serious organisational and program changes. These changes also concern entrepreneurship education, therefore the subject of the article is the discussion on the proposals of the Ministry of Education regarding changes to the school system, in the context of yet another comprehensive organisational and program reform of the Polish education system. The primary goal of the paper is to present the direction of change, based on the current research and discussions conducted by various forums. The author’s claims in this regard are based not only on his reflections but also on the voices presented by the participants of Kraków entrepreneurship conferences and conventions of teachers, as well as by the authors of the papers included in the previous volumes of this annual. Under the limited number of hours dedicated to the teaching of entrepreneurship in post-primary schools in general education, that is, compulsory for all pupils, the most important is the careful selection of objectives and content of entrepreneurship education. The article concludes with the presentation of the essential conditions influencing the success of the implementation of changes, mainly related to the appropriate preparation of entrepreneurship teachers.

The key issue of this article is inclusive education in connection with the formal and legal aspects of students’ safety when they are staying in educational institutions. In the first part, author describes the basic assumptions of the social model of education and it’s international conditions, also referring to solutions that have been recently implemented in the Polish education system. The second part indicates the problems that may be met by educational institutions and teachers trying to achieve a state of full inclusion. They relate to the school’s caring function in terms of security guarantees. The diversity of student population, especially wide range of educational needs may make it impossible for teachers to develop specific approach to individual pupil. It’s caused by formal items, largely determined by the financial situation of particular local government units.

Opis:
The paper offers an insight into Polish migrants’ perceptions of the English education system and how these may impact on their future migration decisions. The study is based on interviews with Polish parents living in England. First, the author discusses the English education system and explains how disparate it is from the Polish one. Next, Polish migrants’ perceptions of the English education system are discussed. The Polish system is described as promoting higher academic standards, more discipline and a stronger work ethic. In the final section, the author argues that differences between the two systems complicate the issue of prospective return, with many parents fearing their children would not be able to (re‑) enter the Polish education system. Therefore, to Polish parents living in England schooling is a significant factor in making decisions regarding settlement in the UK.

In the Second Republic of Poland, over 300 pedagogical journals were published, most of which, however, came out irregularly and for a period of time1. Their main task was to improve the competences and professional qualifications of education staff and popularize the achievements of Polish and worldwide pedagogical thought. In addition, pedagogical journals increased the educational awareness of the society, and they hosted discussions on the reconstruction and development directions of the Polish education system.

Aim: Introducing professionalization of the teaching profession specificity and the stages of this process in the United States in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as the institutionalization of education for this professional group. Methods: An analysis of source and journalistic materials directly related to the discussed issues. Results: A reconstruction of the standards of teacher education in the initial stages of its development, with a view to their cultural and social context, which was not only their background, but also largely determined their course. Conclusion: Education and training constituted a superior value for a large part of the society and a group of political decision-makers. Education was perceived as a specific embodiment of the ideal of the American Republic and a guarantor of its prosperity. However, the policy of educating teachers implemented in practice, including organizational solutions adopted by universities that introduced this education in the second half of the nineteenth century, indicate a lack of coherence between declarations and reality. On the other hand, the social and cultural changes in the United States after World War I and the related change in the perception of the role of teachers, favored the emergence of pedagogy as a research discipline, which can be considered the culmination of the professionalization process of this profession in the USA.

Finland is an unquestionable word leader as far as efficiency of its education system is concerned. Finnish pupils have been top performers in the PISA rankings for many years. Many researchers debate on the reasons of the Finland's success. This paper aims to further analyse the key success factors of the Finnish education system. Special emphasis is put on financial and non-financial inputs explaining the Finland's success. The comparisons with the Polish education system aims to discover those factors which impact and explain the differences between the two countries.

The continuing growth and expansions incorporated with technology, has generated variations in tastes, behavior and demand. Thus the changes need management restructures to reduce the costs of adaptation. Lean principles as cost reduction orientated possess the sufficient elements to fix problems in order to reduce wastes and increase the values. One of the key pillars of total defence is an increased social resilience to aggression, which is inextricably linked to an adequate model of security education. Poland’s security in the 21st century is based on the state’s military capacity and on the military and political alliances formed by decision-makers. However, this model of building security is not sufficient in the face of constantly changing and evolving security threats and challenges. Therefore, security should be based not only on a hard dimension, but also on a soft one, whose main pillar is security education. The idea of an effective model of security education is that, apart from giving young people theoretical knowledge, it is necessary to instil in them practical skills related to responding in crisis situations, including situations posing a threat to human health and life. Security education should constitute the first stage in training society in total defence. The educational model currently functioning in Poland definitely needs to be reformed.

This paper concerns the issue of management and assessment of the aviation training process, which takes into account the elements changing over time: the state of training, its level, quality and mechanisms rationalising the organisational activities and costs. The elements of the complex management system of the aviation training process, which includes probabilistic models for projecting the reliable, safe and effective aviation training, taking into account the requirements imposed by rules, standards and regulations of civil and military aviation, were discussed. In general, its structure, internal modules and exemplary tables of the analysis and assessment of the aviation personnel updates and the validity of permissible breaks during flight by aviation personnel. A schematic diagram of introducing the input data, main parameters, statistical data and expected results in the form of the training schedule, the schedule of the aircraft necessary moving, indicators of the training analysis and assessment, safety and reliability, were mentioned. The mathematical notations of input data and examples of the offered training indicator of aviation personnel were presented. The criterion global function, which exposes the maximisation of the aviation personnel training, as well as the maximisation of the performed flying time of a given type of aircraft, and the minimisation of operating costs of the specific aviation training, was determined. The paper was completed with a conclusion that shows the advantages of the proposed complex management system of the aviation training process.
