The lack of communication is one of the most serious obstacles on the way to effective business management. Caring for proper communication within the company is the simplest method for achieving success. The purpose of the article is to present the role of communication within an enterprise. The article ends with conclusions supported by research results concerning the importance of internal communication.

The events related to the armed conflict in Ukraine undoubtedly have an impact on the image of the modern world economy. As a consequence, it forces the enterprise to implement specific actions related to change management, which should be a response to the changing environment, in this case based on changes in the security environment. On the basis of the conducted research, the authors emphasize that due to the interruption of the supply chain, forced changes in the TFL sector, the social impact and the social role of enterprises, the preparation of change management plans is a complicated and difficult task facing modern enterprises. In this article, the authors draw attention to the multifaceted nature of this phenomenon.

In processing companies, one of the problems they face is the final use of the waste generated by raw materials. For this reason, finding processing options for its use which at the same time generate income is an alternative for the management of new businesses. In Mexico, 33% of entrepreneurs seek to solve problems in the market or society, diversifying their source of income and expanding their creativity. The objective of this research is to develop new products from the industrial waste of shrimp and mango peels. The collection of information focused on the review of literature reports and reports from sources such as the Agro-Food and Fisheries Information Service (SIAP), the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the Council for Economic Development of Sinaloa (CODESIN), the Ministry of Economy, among others; contemplating the development of new products and entrepreneurship as an object of study. According to the diagnosis made by CODESIN, the areas with the greatest opportunity in the short term (1 to 3 years) to develop new products or, therefore, businesses in the bioeconomy area are processed foods, biofertilizers, and nutraceuticals. In conclusion, the development of a new product, such as shrimp and mango sauce, is an option for engineering and design, representing an area of opportunity for the operation of new businesses.

The article discusses experiences gained while integrating adaptive methods of project management with business processes management in a business organization, based on the research undertaken in SESCOM company in Gdańsk, Poland. The aim of the article is to formalize the authors' model of ABPM (Agile Business Process Management), dedicated to re-orienting the traditional process organization towards constructing adaptive, minimalistic process models, taking into consideration the Agile methods of workflow software development and long-term life-cycles of infrastructure connected with IT processes. The article proposes the areas, in which to implement the elements of Agile methodology in the classical Deming cycle. It also summarizes experience to-date with regard to the role of human capital in performing business strategies according to the ABPM model.

Being a strong yet growing economy, Poland is among the global leaders for doing business and an attractive destination for foreign companies expanding their reach abroad. However, entering such a complex and challenging market does not always go smoothly. Thence, this study aims to determine the critical factors hindering the development of international business in the country. To do so, the research employed an instrumental explanatory case study approach. The research subject is a subsidiary of a German electronics manufacturer in Poland, whose employee, who is also a researcher, is trying to identify the reasons for the company’s poor results in attracting new customers. Further thematic analysis of qualitative data from field notes and individual interviews with customers identified the following five factors that might be responsible for that: novelty, staff, logistics, communications, and marketing. The findings suggest that to be successful in the Polish context, an international business should offer novelty in its products or services, employ some local personnel, rely on local logistics, and conduct as much communication as possible in the Polish language, especially in marketing. The study not only fills the gaps in the literature on international business development in the Polish context, but also offers practical recommendations for improving the efficacy of international companies, regardless of their geographical location.

Nasuwa się zatem problem badawczy: Jakie uwarunkowania projektów zarządzania procesowego we współczesnych organizacjach wpływają na ich sukces, a jakie z kolei czynniki powodują ich niepowodzenie? Prowadzone rozważania oraz wyniki prac badawczych wykazują konieczność podejmowania projektów na poziomie strategicznym i operacyjnym. Kluczowymi czynnikami sukcesu jest powiązanie płaszczyzny strategicznej i operacyjnej, zaangażowanie kapitału ludzkiego na wszystkich szczeblach organizacji i zaangażowanie pracowników oraz budowa otwartej na zmiany kultury organizacyjnej wraz ze wsparciem narzędzi IT.
The implementation of business process management projects in organizations is popular with many enterprises, regardless of their size or the sector in which they operate. Efficient implementation, a holistic approach in this concept focuses on the efficient functioning of processes in the context of the goals and strategic assumptions of the organization. Despite the use of many solutions and methodologies, projects are not always successful, and during their implementation there are many difficulties and limitations. Therefore, a research problem arises: What conditions of business process management projects in contemporary organizations influence their success, and what factors cause their failure? The considerations and the results of research work show the undertaken design solutions at the strategic and operational level. The key success factors are the linking of the strategic and operational levels, the involvement of human capital at all levels of the organization, and the involvement of employees as well as building an organizational culture open to changes with the support of IT tools.

A standard solution regarding business process management automation in enterprises is the use of workflow management systems working by the Rule-Based Reasoning approach. In such systems, the process model which is designed entirely before the implementation has to meet all needs deriving from business activity of the organization. In practice, it means that great limitations arise in process control abilities, especially in the dynamic business environment. Therefore, new kinds of workflow systems may help which typically work in more agile way e.g. following the Case-Based Reasoning approach. The paper shows another possible solution – the use of emergence theory which indicates among other conditions required to fulfill stimulation of the system (for example the business environment) to run grass-roots processes that lead to arising of new more sophisticated organizing forms. The paper also points the using opportunity of such techniques as the processing of complex events to fulfill key conditions pointed by the emergence theory.

W ostatnich latach wśród instrumentów zarządzania przedsię-biorstwem zauważalny jest wzrost znaczenia instrumentów związanych ze sferą logistyki. Szczególną rolę pełni przede wszystkim koncepcja logistyki, która może stanowić istotną determinantę zmian w zarządzaniu przedsiębiorstwem. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań Katedry Logistyki i Marketingu Uniwersytetu Opolskiego przeprowadzonych w latach 2009-2011, w ramach projektu badawczego pt. „Logistyczne determinanty zarządzania przedsiębiorstwami”. Przedmiotem badań były m.in. kompetencje menedżerów ds. logistyki, związane z procesami i zadaniami realizowanymi przez tych menedżerów w przedsiębiorstwie, a także kompetencje logistyki związane z wdrażaniem koncepcji logistyki w zarządzaniu przedsiębiorstwem.
In recent years, within business management instruments one may notice the growing importance of instruments related to the area of logistics. A very special role is assigned to logistics concept, which may be an important determinant of changes in business management. The paper presents the results of the research project named “Logistics determinants of business management”, carried out from 2009 to 2011 by the Chair of Logistics and Marketing at Opole University, Poland. The subject of the study was, among others, competencies of logistics managers, related to the processes and tasks performed by these managers in the company, as well as logistics competences related to logistics concept implementation within business management.

Artykuł dotyczy problematyki związanej z zarządzaniem przedsiębiorstwem. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na decyzje podejmowane w obszarze zaopatrzenia. Przedstawiono zadania realizowane w tym obszarze. Jako narzędzie wspomagające realizację tych zadań zaproponowano budżet zakupów. Opiera się on na prognozie popytu. Prognozę popytu oparto na dwóch podzbiorach. Jeden z nich obejmuje okres świąteczny, natomiast drugi jest bez okresu świątecznego. Jako narzędzie prognostyczne wykorzystano model Wintera oraz sztuczne sieci neuronowe.
The paper concerns the issues related to enterprise management. Particular attention was paid to the decisions taken in the area of supply. It presented tasks performed in this area. As a tool to support the implementation of these tasks was proposed purchasing budget. It is based on demand forecast. The demand forecast is based on two subsets. One of them includes the festive period, while the other is without the festive period. As a forecasting tool was used Winter’s model and artificial neural networks.

The role of logistics perceived as a concept of goods and information flow management is constantly growing. From the perspective of the theoretical research, as well as from the perspective of the business solutions, logistics is more and more becoming a systemic determinant affecting business success and performance, as well as an instrument for sustainable, long-term business competitive advantage creation. The article refers to the most important aspects and characteristics of the logistics concept development within business management, with particular emphasis on the research carried out within this area in the Chair of Logistics and Marketing at Opole University, Poland. In particular, in this article the following areas and research problems were considered: (1) the most significant stages in logistics concept development, (2) the relationships between logistics (logistics concept) and the value creation for the customer and for the company, (3) logistics determinants of business management, and (4) logistics competences in business competitive advantage creation.

W przedsiębiorstwach produkcyjnych logistyka produkcji jest jednym z ważniejszych ogniw firmy. W sposób szczególny zwraca się uwagę na marnotrawstwo oraz poszukuje się możliwości obniżania kosztów. Usprawnienia w obszarze produkcji, łańcucha dostaw czy gospodarki magazynowej pozwalają uzyskać korzyści finansowe. Aby poprawić istniejącą sytuację należy podjąć odpowiednie decyzje i wykorzystać dostępne narzędzia tzn. zastosować w firmie „szczupłe zarządzanie” czy narzędzia systemowe jak np. telematyka. Celem badań było wykazanie, że poprzez wykorzystanie narzędzi telematycznych w produkcji możliwe jest wyeliminowanie z procesu produkcyjnego zbędnego czasu międzyoperacyjnego. Pozwoli to na płynniejszą pracę, eliminację marnotrawstwa oraz wzrost wartości dodanej. Ważnym elementem całego przedsięwzięcia jest zastosowanie projektu informatycznego RFID produkcja, którego zadaniem jest przyspieszenie i wyeliminowanie błędów przy produkcji drzwi, usprawnienie planowania zakupów surowców i umożliwienie bieżącej analizy stanów magazynowych i realizacji zamówień.
In production enterprises production logistics is the most important link of the company. We particularly pay attention to wastage and look for possibilities of reducing costs. Improvements in the production area, the supply chain or warehouse management generate financial benefits. In order to improve the existing situation appropriate decisions must be made and available tools must be used involving the application of “lean management” or system tools such as telematics. The research aims to indicate that through the usage of telematics tools in the production, it is possible to eliminate unnecessary interoperational time from the production process. This will allow for smoother work, elimination of wast-age and the growth in the value added. An important element is constituted by application of RFID production IT project whose task is to accelerate and eliminate mistakes in the production of doors, facilitate planning the purchase of raw materials and analyse on the on-going basis the stock and order execution.

Audyt wewnętrzny odgrywa znaczącą rolę w funkcjonowaniu podmiotów gospodarczych, jednak każda jednostka stosuje indywidualne procedury, które są dostosowane do jej indywidualnych potrzeb. Należy zauważyć, iż na jednostki komercyjne nie nałożono żadnych regulacji prawnych, z tego względu audyt stanowi indywidualne rozwiązanie dla każdego z podmiotów, który go wdraża. Jednak zdaniem respondentów z przeprowadzonego badania stanowi nieocenione źródło informacji, które sprzyja dalszemu funkcjonowaniu jednostki i chroni przed różnymi niepożądanymi zachowaniami i nieprawidłowościami w funkcjonowaniu. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie wyników badania ankietowego przeprowadzone wśród największych podmiotów w Polsce, dotyczącego oceny wdrożenia audytu wewnętrznego i korzyści wynikających z jego stosowania.
Internal audit plays asignificant role in the functioning of economic entities, but each individualentity shall apply the procedures that are tailored to their individual needs. Interms of regulations, business units do not have any condition simposed by the legislature, because auditing is an individual solution for each of the entities which it has implemented. However, according to the respondents is an invaluable source of information that is conducive to the further functioning of theunitand protects against various undesirable behavior and irregular itiesin the operation. This article presents the results of a survey conducted among the largest entitiesin Poland, on theas sessment of the implementation of internal audit and benefits of its use.

The post-1989 transition from a centrally planned economy to a free-market economy generated new investment opportunities in Poland, heavily impacted by computerization. The article analyses the genesis, course and effects of implementation of computerization in a cartographic publishing house which spent several decades operating on a typical Central and Eastern European market. It also highlights the multi-dimensional nature of this process, presenting it in the context of political and socio-economic changes. The author indicates that the factors hindering efficient implementation of computerization were the very qualities which in the past determined the enterprise’s market potential: a great reserve of source and technical materials for publishing maps, efficient technological facilities, experienced employees and the management who sought modernization, but underestimated the potential of computerization and had to deal with its own psychological barriers related to the issue.

W artykule nawiązano do badań przeprowadzonych w Katedrze Logistyki i Marketingu Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, w wyniku których zidentyfikowano następujące determinanty związane ze sferą logistyki, oddziałujące na zmiany w systemie zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem: 1) orientację przepływową, 2) kompetencje logistyki i łańcucha dostaw, 3) strategie logistyczne, 4) instrumenty zarządzania logistycznego, 5) planowanie logistyczne, 6) organizacyjne rozwiązania w sferze logistyki i zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw oraz 7) controlling logistyczny. Poza przybliżeniem istoty i podstawowych rodzajów tych determinant, w artykule nawiązano również pokrótce do zakresu oraz przejawów ich oddziaływania na zmiany w zarządzaniu przedsiębiorstwem.
The growing importance of logistics as a concept of goods and information flow management relates to the identification of logistics determinants of business management. The article presents the research results conducted by the Chair of Logistics and Marketing at Opole University, Poland. In particular, the following logistics determinants influencing business management system have been identified: 1) flow orientation, 2) logistics and supply chain competences, 3) logistics strategies, 4) logistics management tools, 5) logistics planning, 6) organizational solutions related to logistics and supply chain management and 7) logistics controlling. Apart from the nature and basic groups of these determinants, the article also presents the scope as well as the symptoms of logistics determinants influence on business management system.

W ostatnich latach w obszarze zarządzania i systemów informatycznych szeroko dyskutowany jest sposób uwzględnienia w nich dynamicznych aspektów procesów biznesowych. Zagadnienie to określane jest jako Dynamiczne Zarządzanie Procesami Biznesowymi (ang. Dynamic Business Process Management, DBPM) lub BPM 2.0. Jest to rozwinięcie tradycyjnego Zarządzania Procesami Biznesowymi (ang. Business Process Management, BPM) o tzw. aspekt dynamiczny. Dostępne próby definiowania DBPM łączy wspomniany aspekt dynamiczny, który przeważnie sprowadzany jest do jednej z cech procesów biznesowych, tj. przebiegu, z pominięciem pozostałych. W artykule w uporządkowany sposób przedstawiono zagadnienie dynamicznych procesów biznesowych, wprowadzono jego definicję, zidentyfikowano i scharakteryzowano różne jego aspekty (z uwzględnieniem kontekstu zarządzania oraz systemów informatycznych) oraz przedstawiono kluczowe kierunki badawcze.
In recent years, in the field of IT and management, widely discussed is the issue referred to as Dynamic Process Management (DBPM) or BPM 2.0. This is an evolution of the traditional Business Process Management (BPM). This article, in an orderly manner with the problem of dynamic business processes, introduces its definition, identifies and characterizes its various aspects (including context management, and IT) and shows key research directions.

The key to success is identifying the critical success factors having a significant impact on the successful implementation of the ERP system and taking them under consideration. Limited access of small enterprises to reliable and well-prepared information about their condition is mentioned as one of the main barriers to small business development. This paper discusses various aspects that should be considered when defining and executing extraction process-related information from the source data (ERP system) to an event log. The paper presents the essence, structure and significance of management contracts in the process of company supervision and management. The basic premises for introducing management contracts and supervisor contracts resulting mostly from the growth of the company have also been characterised. In particular, the first part of the paper provides the definitions of corporate governance and ownership supervision, and mechanisms of this supervision have been identified along with statement of their effectiveness and efficiency. The theoretical grounds for management contracts have been broadly analysed, with special attention paid to the ownership rights theory, contractual view of a company (nexus contracts), the management productivity concept, the issue of trusting business partners, the theory of affectuation, the agency theory, and the stewardship theory. The predictive and projective functions of the agency theory have been criticised, which is commonly considered the leading concept in corporate governance. As regards the essence and premises for introducing management contracts, organisational and legal forms of business management have been described in detail, namely management personalisation, management autonomisation, management deconcentration and decentralisation. The analysis of the issue has been mostly focused on the provisions of a business management contract, with a special view on the subject matter of the contract, duties of both parties, responsibility of the manager, costs of the agent (manager) and the method of their compensation. The components of the manager’s salary and the methods of their determination have been defined. Finally, a postulate for building high culture of contracts in the economy in general and management contracts in particular has been included.
W artykule przedstawiono istotę, konstrukcję i znaczenie kontraktów menedżerskich w procesie nadzoru i zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem. Scharakteryzowano również zasadnicze przesłanki wprowadzania kontraktów menedżerskich i kontraktów kierowniczych, wynikające głównie z rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa. W szczególności, w pierwszym fragmencie artykułu podano definicje nadzoru korporacyjnego i nadzoru właścicielskiego, przedstawiono identyfikację mechanizmów tego nadzoru wraz z podaniem oceny ich skuteczności i efektywności. Sporo miejsca poświęcono na omówienie teoretycznych podstaw kontraktów menedżerskich, ze zwróceniem uwagi szczególnie na teorię praw własności (ownership rights theory), kontraktowe ujęcie przedsiębiorstwa (nexus contracts), menedżerską koncepcję produktywności, problem zaufania do partnerów biznesowych, teorię tworzenia wartości (theory of affectuation), teorię agencji (agency theory), czy teorię stewarda (stewardship theory). Poddano krytyce spełnianie funkcji predykcyjnej i projekcyjnej teorii agencji, którą uznaje się powszechnie za koncepcję wiodącą w nadzorze korporacyjnym. Nawiązując do istoty i przesłanek wprowadzenia kontraktów menedżerskich, scharakteryzowano formy organizacyjno-prawne zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem, takie mianowicie jak personalizacja zarządzania, autonomizacja zarządzania, dekoncentracja zarządzania i decentralizacja. Punkt ciężkości analizowania problemu położono na postanowienia umowy o zarządzanie przedsiębiorstwem, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem przedmiotu umowy, obowiązków obu stron, odpowiedzialności zarządzającego, kosztów agenta (menedżera) i sposobu ich kompensacji. Zdefiniowano składniki wynagrodzenia menedżera oraz sposoby ich określania. W zakończeniu zawarto postulat budowy wysokiej kultury kontraktów w gospodarce w ogólności oraz kontraktów menedżerskich w szczególności.

Artykuł prezentuje model planowania zapasów. Współczesne metody planowania zapasów, sprzedaży, bezpieczeństwa systemów technicznych etc. bazują na klasycznych i miękkich metodach obliczeniowych. Klasyczne wzorce opierają się na fundamentach rachunku prawdopodobieństwa i metodach statystycznych. Miękkie metody obliczeniowe, bazują na zbiorach rozmytych, algorytmach genetycznych, teorii możliwości, teorii ewidencji matematycznej czy sieciach neuronowych. Wspólnym problemem tych metod jest to, że aparat matematyczny w nich używany nie daje dużej szansy na istotne polepszenie dokładności poprawnych decyzji. Autorska metoda, na bazie której został stworzony model matematyczny, wydaje się dobrze rozwiązywać pewien problem uzależnienia aktualnego stanu obiektu od historii stanów oraz innych obiektów, które mogą wpływać na jego aktualny stan. Zaproponowana metoda została potwierdzona praktycznym przypadkiem bazującym na danych rzeczywistych. Ze względu na dużą złożoność obliczeniową zaproponowana metoda może zostać wdrożona w systemach komputerowych dedykowanych zagadnieniom prognozowania wielkości zapasów bezpieczeństwa.

Logistics is the concept of materials, goods and information flow management, both within the firm, as well as the entire supply chain or even supply network. Nowadays, logistics is perceived as the determinant of achieving the expected market and economic outcomes by the firm, which are the symptoms of firm success and the basis for building a sustained, long-term competitive advantage. The article refers to the research conducted in recent years within the Chair of Logistics and Marketing at the University of Opole, Poland, including in particular research carried out by the Opole Logistics Research Team, concerning the relations between logistics and business management. Apart from the broad reference to the results of research carried out in the past, further directions of research on logistics and business management, planned in the near future, are also briefly presented in the article.
Logistyka stanowi koncepcję zarządzania przepływami materiałów, towarów i informacji, zarówno w skali przedsiębiorstwa, jak i całego łańcucha, a nawet całej sieci dostaw. Współcześnie, logistyka jest postrzegana jako determinanta osiągania oczekiwanych efektów rynkowych i ekonomicznych przez przedsiębiorstwo, będących wyznacznikami jego sukcesu oraz podstawą budowania trwałej, długofalowej przewagi konkurencyjnej. W artykule nawiązano do badań prowadzonych w ostatnich latach w Zakładzie Logistyki i Marketingu Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, w tym w szczególności badań zrealizowanych przez Opole Logistics Research Team, związanych z relacjami występującymi pomiędzy logistyką a zarządzaniem przedsiębiorstwem. Poza szerokim odniesieniem się do wyników badań przeprowadzonych w przeszłości, w artykule przedstawiono również krótko dalsze kierunki badań dotyczących logistyki i zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem, planowanych w najbliższej przyszłości.

Both of these sources have both pros and cons. The future entrepreneur should analyze which source will be more beneficial for him.

This contribution presents utilization of quantitative method of operational analysis - Bayes principle optimum in the area of utilizing alternative power sources. By this quantitative model we can find out solution of economic and technical difficulty in the area of biomass. Optimization of production processes brings lower cost and continual input – wood pulp for boiler plant. Following application of this model we can support decisions of processes and to optimize parameters of processes. Results of this optimization bring low cost, high quality and optimal processing time. It is direction to continual improvement in the firm that it brings competitive advantages for classification of the firm as” world-class business”.
Niniejszy artykuł prezentuje wykorzystanie metody ilościowej analizy operacyjnej - zasady optimum Bayesa w zakresie wykorzystywania alternatywnych źródeł energii. W tym modelu ilościowym możemy znaleźć rozwiązanie ekonomicznej i technicznej trudności w zakresie biomasy. Optymalizacja procesów produkcyjnych przynosi niższe koszty i nieprzerwaną moc wejścia - pulpę drzewną do kotłowni. Po zastosowaniu tego modelu możemy wspierać decyzje dotyczące procesów i optymalizować parametry procesów. Wyniki tej optymalizacji przynoszą niskie koszty, wysoką jakość i optymalny czas przetwarzania. Jest to kierunek do ciągłego doskonalenia w firmie, który przynosi przewagę konkurencyjną klasyfikującą firmę jako " biznes światowej klasy".

This article explores the self-assessment of entrepreneurial potential among students, particularly in the context of a post-pandemic world that has seen changes in the labor market and a rise in global uncertainty about employment. In response to these shifts, students are increasingly recognizing the importance of an entrepreneurial mindset, self-reliance and optimize their potential to start their own businesses and thereby achieve greater employment-related independence. The study uses empirical data from a survey conducted on a sample of 1,526 students which is 29.8% of all students at the University of Information Technology and Management (UITM) in Rzeszow. This research sample is representative and comparable across various educational study paths offered in both in Polish and English. The article emphasizes the importance of setting up new businesses, including online ventures, and at the same time underscores the importance of basic knowledge in the formal and legal aspects of entrepreneurship. These aspects include understanding the forms of legal organization of the enterprises, methods of tax settlement and potential forms of financial support from external entities. The article identifies a gap in the current educational offer, pointing out the necessity for specialized knowledge related not only in starting but also in managing a business effectively. The study verifies two research hypotheses. Firstly, it reveals that only a limited number of students use their entrepreneurial potential by planning to start new businesses. Secondly, the study finds no significant difference in self-assessment of entrepreneurial potential across genders, indicating a uniform perception of entrepreneurial capabilities among male na female respondents.
W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę zbadania samooceny potencjału przedsiębiorczości wśród studentów. Badanie wykonano w sytuacji postpandemicznej, w której odnotowano wzmożenie zakładania własnych działalności gospodarczych. W obliczu zmian na rynku pracy i rosnącej globalnej niepewności dotyczącej zatrudnienia studenci dostrzegają potrzebę przedsiębiorczego spojrzenia na samodzielność i optymalizację swojego potencjału do zakładania własnych działalności gospodarczych, a tym samym osiągnięcia większej niezależności związanej z zatrudnieniem. W badaniu wykorzystano dane empiryczne z badań przeprowadzonych na próbie 1526 studentów (tj. 29,8% ogółu studiujących) Wyższej Szkoły Informatyki i Zarządzania w Rzeszowie, z zachowaniem reprezentatywności próby badawczej oraz porównywalności w przekroju ścieżek studiów kształcenia realizowanych w językach polskim i angielskim. W artykule podkreślono istotność zakładania nowych przedsiębiorstw, również w sferze online oraz jednocześnie znaczenie wiedzy podstawowej w formalno-prawnych aspektach związanych z przedsiębiorczością, jak formy organizacji prawnej przedsiębiorstwa, sposoby rozliczeń podatkowych czy potencjalne formy wsparcia finansowego z jednostek zewnętrznych. Zidentyfikowano potrzebę stworzenia oferty edukacyjnej w zakresie specjalistycznej wiedzy związanej nie tylko z założeniem własnej firmy, ale również jej prowadzeniem. Badanie weryfikuje pozytywnie dwie hipotezy badawcze. Po pierwsze, ograniczona liczba studentów realizuje swój potencjał przedsiębiorczy, planując zakładanie nowych przedsiębiorstw. Po drugie, niezależnie od płci ankietowanych osób nie wykazano różnicy w samoocenie potencjału przedsiębiorczego.

Every enterprise tries to build the most effective company strategy. An important, though often overlooked element of strategy building is occupational health and safety management. Building an occupational health and safety management strategy in an enterprise is done in cooperation with the health and safety service, which determines the state of safety in the work environment and indicates the possibilities of its improvement. Cooperation with the employer and management allows for the development of appropriate mechanisms that aim to improve the safety of the work environment. The subject of the study is the construction of a health and safety management strategy in a selected company.

Dynamiczny rozwój technologii informatycznych stwarza nowe możliwości zastosowania tych rozwiązań we współczesnych metodach i technikach zarządzania takich jak Business Process Reengineering, Business Intelligence i Data mining czy Business Process Management. Pozwala to na efektywne wykorzystanie repozytoriów informacji zarządczych a w nich pełną integrację informacyjną tak niezbędną dla menedżerów w zakresie tworzenia wielowymiarowych analiz i bieżącego raportowania. Aby zapewnić efektywne ich wykorzystanie, współczesne organizacje mają do dyspozycji różnorodność metod zarządzania procesami biznesowymi. Jedną z nowocześniejszych metod zarządzania, umożliwiającą szybkie reagowanie na zmiany otoczenia i antycypacje jest koncepcja controllingu operacyjnego. Controlling, który jest zorientowany na przyszłość jest jednym z instrumentów nowoczesnego zarządzania a zarazem źródłem informacji zarządczych dla kierownictwa. Różnorodność oraz bogactwo tych informacji wymaga stosowania nowoczesnych metod ułatwiających tworzenie repozytoriów danych ułatwiających i przyspieszających analizę informacji zarządczej i dostarczanie na określone centra decyzyjne. Trudno jest zatem dziś mówić o efektywnie funkcjonującej organizacji, a w niej controllingu jako instrumentu oceny i tworzenia przyszłej strategii bez analizy procesów i wspomagających ich realizację systemów informacyjnych. Dlatego też tak istotne jest wykorzystanie funkcjonalności hurtowni danych jako centralnego repozytorium danych zarządczych wraz z metodyką Business Process Management jako instrumentu wspomagającego controlling. Jej wykorzystanie może być więc efektywnym czynnikiem w automatyzacji i mapowaniu procesów controllingu operacyjnego w przedsiębiorstwie.
The subject article aims to prove the importance of new methods in operational controlling, stimulating corporate strategy creation, based on innovation and extended management information. These two are key factors for various kinds of integrated management systems of today’s organizations. The dynamic technology development in few recent years, covering also integrated management systems, discovered new effective solutions for real time corporate governance, such as Process Reengineering, Business Intelligence, Data Mining or Business Process Management. All these stands for fully integrated and harmonized IT ecosystem that is highly required by corporate managers for any Big Data analysis, reporting and decisioning processes. The concept of controlling is a key element in proper and effective business management and financial governance. It significantly helps organizations in real-time decisioning and risk mitigation. At the same moment the critical element for successful decision is cleanness of data sets, central repository and data warehouse configuration. Corporate Governance should have solid data process management policy, highly educated data analysts and correctly applied Business Process Management methods. All above significantly improves operational controlling appliance, controlling process mapping and process automation in modern enterprises. We should consider then Business Process Management as key element for corporate growth within competitive markets.

Dużą konkurencja wymusiła zwiększenie inwestycji nie tylko w unowocześnianie parku maszynowego, ale też w zmiany w systemie sterowania produkcją. W artykule przedstawiono zakres zmian zaproponowany w małym przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym.

Artykuł przedstawia narzędzia wspomagające kontrolę menedżerską oraz planowanie finansowe ze szczególnym zwróceniem uwagi na narzędzie planowania i kontroli w postaci strategicznej karty wyników, benchmarkingu oraz analizy SWOT. Wykorzystując badania literaturowe oraz własne doświadczenia praktyczne, związane z budową planów krótkoi długoterminowych, w prezentowanym artykule szczególną uwagę zwrócono na fakt, że wdrożenie ww. narzędzi jest procesem długotrwałym, wymagającym zaangażowania wszystkich służb w przedsiębiorstwie. Następnie konieczne jest opracowanie strategii działania z wyszczególnieniem celów organizacji i wyborem odpowiednich mierników efektywności. Podkreślając wagę narzędzi kontrolingu w zarządzaniu przedsiębiorstwem, zwrócono również uwagę na zaangażowanie i zmotywowanie pracowników, którzy odczuwając wspólne wyzwanie, stają się odpowiedzialni za los swojego przedsiębiorstwa. Podkreślono, że właśnie to, a nie cele ani mierniki są najważniejszą, integralną częścią każdej opracowanej w indywidualny sposób koncepcji strategicznej karty wyników.
The author of the article tried to introduce tools to help control managerial and financial planning, with particular emphasis on planning and control tool in the form of the Balanced Scorecard, benchmarking and SWOT analysis. Using the research literature and their own practical experience with the construction of short and long term plans in the present article drew attention to the fact that the implementation tools is a long process that requires the involvement of all departments in the company, then it is necessary to develop a strategy detailing the objectives of the organization and the selection of appropriate measures of effectiveness.

In this paper the relationship between a certain type of competitive conditions and the desired adjustment of company’s activities is identified and characterised, followed by reconstruction of contemporary conditions of competition and a proposal of business activities best suited to these conditions. As global economy is currently dominated by so-called occasional competitive advantage, companies should implement an agile business behaviour. The conception of an agile company is a new paradigm in business management.
Artykuł zawiera identyfikację i charakterystykę relacji między typem warunków konkurowania a pożądanym dostosowaniem działalności przedsiębiorstwa oraz rekonstrukcję współczesnych uwarunkowań konkurowania i wskazanie najlepiej do nich dostosowanych zachowań biznesowych. Tak zwana okazjonalna przewaga konkurencyjna dominuje we współczesnej gospodarce globalnej. Przedsiębiorstwa powinny zatem wdrożyć zwinne zachowania biznesowe. Koncepcja zwinnego przedsiębiorstwa jest nowym paradygmatem w zarządzaniu.

Purpose: The main goal of this article is to present the dropship model to consider it’s advantages and disadvantages and find out, is it accurate way to develop business in short time under some uncertainty. Design/methodology/approach: Most important problems and critical success factors of dropshipping model, and then assessing their mutual influence on each other were discussed. Costs that a start-up company running it’s business must incur were analyzed. In order to convince what kind of effects the online store may expect, simulations of requirements and costs on dropshipping platforms were conducted. Findings: Dropshipping business model is quite risky and should not be treated as a panacea in times of crisis. Online stores, if they think about significant profits, must focus on finding their niche, building responsive websites and rely on a solid information system. Originality/value: Simulation of costs of dropshipping business model under some uncertainty can be really helpful to start-up company running it’s business.

The paper aims at viewing meeting the requirements of hotel business managers functioning and training. As their successful employment and functions performing largely depends on participatory culture acquisition, the paper addresses the research questions: what groups of skills hotel business managers’ participatory professional skills (PPS) consist of; what activities might be used to teach PPS to future hotel business managers; what is the activities’ impact on teaching PPS to future hotel business managers. Case study and pedagogical experiment (the pretest-post-test control and experimental group design) have been applied in the research. Data have been gathered through conversational interviewing. Data source triangulation has been implemented to prove the validity of conversational interviewing questions. The research results in enlisting profession skills as the core of participatory culture. The traditions of the higher school and the requirements of partners participating in future hotel business managers training have been taken into consideration to teach PPS to future hotel business managers. The paper presents the results of testing the impact of the suggested activities program on the level of PPS. Statistical data processing is performed in the MS Excel 2010 environment using the chi-square test with a sample size (n ≥ 100). It shows that the program of activities meets the requirements to the future hotel business managers’ participatory culture acquisition.
