Biomolecular recognition is an open scientific problem, which has been investigated in many theoretical and experimental aspects. In that sense, there are encouraging results within Resonant Recognition Model (RRM), based on the finding that there is a significant correlation between spectra of the numerical presentation of amino acids in the primary structure of proteins and their biological activity. It has been found through an extensive research that proteins with the same biological function have a common frequency in their numerical spectra. This frequency was found then to be a characteristic feature for protein biological function or interaction The RRM model proposes that the selectivity of protein interactions is based on resonant energy transfer between interacting biomolecules and that this energy, electromagnetic in its nature, is in the frequency range of $10^{13}$ to $10^{15}$ Hz, which incorporates infra-red (IR), visible and a small portion of the ultra-violet (UV) radiation. In this paper, the quantum mechanical basis of the RRM model will be investigated using the solution in the simplified framework of Hückel-like theory of molecular orbits.

Opis:
Digital image processing algorithms are commonly applied in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). Their effective operation is conditioned on the high robustness to real-life image distortions and the computational complexity suitable for implementation on a non expensive industrial computer. The paper presents three original image analysis methods designed for the ITS, with special attention paid on aforementioned conditions. Colour image parametrization method for the traffic light state classifier was described. The algorithm utilizes CIELAB colour space properties. The method of vehicle edges parametrization for the make and model classifier was presented. The proposed representation relies on thresholded coefficients of gradient magnitude approximation in low dimensional space. The paper presents also the method of image characteristic features detection for the licence plates localization task. The detection is performed by means of appropriately designed filters with low computational complexity.

Opis:
The identity of a language being spoken has been tackled over the years via statistical models on audio samples. A drawback of these approaches is the unavailability of phonetically transcribed data for all languages. This work proposes an approach based on image classification that utilized image representations of audio samples. Our model used Neural Networks and deep learning algorithms to analyse and classify three languages. The input to our network is a Spectrogram that was processed through the networks to extract local visual and temporal features for language prediction. From the model, we achieved 95.56 % accuracy on the test samples from the 3 languages.

The aim of works described in this article is to elaborate and experimentally evaluate a consistent method of Language Model (LM) construction for the sake of Polish speech recognition. In the proposed method we tried to take into account the features and specific problems experienced in practical applications of speech recognition in the Polish language, reach inflection, a loose word order and the tendency for short word deletion. The LM is created in five stages. Each successive stage takes the model prepared at the previous stage and modifies or extends it so as to improve its properties. At the first stage, typical methods of LM smoothing are used to create the initial model. Four most frequently used methods of LM construction are here. At the second stage the model is extended in order to take into account words indirectly co-occurring in the corpus. At the next stage, LM modifications are aimed at reduction of short word deletion errors, which occur frequently in Polish speech recognition. The fourth stage extends the model by insertion of words that were not observed in the corpus. Finally the model is modified so as to assure highly accurate recognition of very important utterances. The performance of the methods applied is tested in four language domains.

Opis:
Problem rozpoznawania obrazów jest zagadnieniem trudnym i złożonym. Jednym z możliwych sposobów jego realizacji, jest wykorzystanie bazy modeli i porównywanie ich z obrazem badanym pochodzącym z kamery. Możliwe jest rozpoznawanie w oparciu o: kształt, kolor czy też teksturę. W artykule zaprezentowano wykorzystanie zmodyfikowanej metody dopasowania wzorców do rozpoznawania obrazów, pochodzących z rzeczywistej kamery przemysłowej. Przedstawiono także podstawowe wady i ograniczenia klasycznej metody dopasowania wzorców.
The problem of the image recognizing is difficult and complex question. The using the base of models and comparing their to image from camera is one of possible ways of his realization. Image recognizing is possible in support about shape, colour or texture also. In article modified method template matching to recognizing images from real industrial camera was presented. Moreover basic disadvantages and limitations of simple template matching method was shown in the paper.

Opis:
Similarity assessment between 3D models is an important problem in many fields including medicine, biology and industry. As there is no direct method to compare 3D geometries, different model representations (shape signatures) are developed to enable shape description, indexing and clustering. Even though some of those descriptors proved to achieve high classification precision, their application is often limited. In this work, a different approach to similarity assessment of 3D CAD models was presented. Instead of focusing on one specific shape signature, 45 easy-to-extract shape signatures were considered simultaneously. The vector of those features constituted an input for 3 machine learning algorithms: the random forest classifier, the support vector classifier and the fully connected neural network. The usefulness of the proposed approach was evaluated with a dataset consisting of over 1600 CAD models belonging to 9 separate classes. Different values of hyperparameters, as well as neural network configurations, were considered. Retrieval accuracy exceeding 99% was achieved on the test dataset.

Opis:
This work proposes a segmentation-free approach to Arabic Handwritten Text Recog-nition (AHTR): an attention-based Convolutional Neural Network - Recurrent Neural Network - Con-nectionist Temporal Classification (CNN-RNN-CTC) deep learning architecture. The model receives asinput an image and provides, through a CNN, a sequence of essential features, which are transferred toan Attention-based Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory Network (BLSTM). The BLSTM gives features sequence in order, and the attention mechanism allows the selection of relevant information from the features sequences. The selected information is then fed to the CTC, enabling the loss calculation and the transcription prediction. The contribution lies in extending the CNN by dropout layers, batch normalization, and dropout regularization parameters to prevent over-fitting. The output of the RNN block is passed through an attention mechanism to utilize the most relevant parts of the input sequence in a flexible manner. This solution enhances previous methods by improving the CNN speed and performance and controlling over model over-fitting. The proposed system achieves the best accuracy of97.1% for the IFN-ENIT Arabic script database, which competes with the current state-of-the-art. It was also tested for the modern English handwriting of the IAM database, and the Character Error Rate of 2.9% is attained, which confirms the model’s script independence.

W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono koncepcję i implementację modelu do rozpoznawania ras psów na podstawie zdjęcia. Do realizacji zadania wykorzystano model głębokiej sieci neuronowej bazujący na strukturze InceptionV3. Sieć została wytrenowana i przetestowana na zbiorze przypadków uczących liczącym ponad 20 tys. zdjęć 120 ras psów z zastosowaniem transferu wiedzy. Zbadano również wpływ jakości zdjęć na wyniki klasyfikacji. Sieć uzyskała bardzo dobre rezultaty zarówno w przypadku analizy typowych, jak i nietypowych zdjęć.
This article presents the concept and implementation of a model for recognizing dog breeds based on an input image. The task was performed with the use of a deep neural network model based on the InceptionV3 structure. The neural network has been trained and tested on a dataset counting more than 20,000 images of 120 dog breeds using transfer learning technique. The impact of image quality on classification results was also examined. The model obtained very good results in the analysis of both typical and unusual input images.

The article is devoted to the problem of voice signals recognition means introduction in the system of distance learning. The results of the conducted research determine the prospects of neural network means of phoneme recognition. It is also shown that the main difficulties of creation of the neural network model, intended for recognition of phonemes in the system of distance learning, are connected with the uncertain duration of a phoneme-like element. Due to this reason for recognition of phonemes, it is impossible to use the most effective type of neural network model on the basis of a multilayered perceptron, at which the number of input parameters is a fixed value. To mitigate this shortcoming, the procedure, allowing to transform the non-stationary digitized voice signal to the fixed quantity of mel-cepstral coefficients, which are the basis for calculation of input parameters of the neural network model, is developed. In contrast to the known ones, the possibility of linear scaling of phoneme-like elements is available in the procedure. The number of computer experiments confirmed expediency of the fact that the use of the offered coding procedure of input parameters provides the acceptable accuracy of neural network recognition of phonemes under near-natural conditions of the distance learning system. Moreover, the prospects of further research in the field of development of neural network means of phoneme recognition of a voice signal in the system of distance learning is connected with an increase in admissible noise level. Besides, the adaptation of the offered procedure to various natural languages, as well as to other applied tasks, for instance, a problem of biometric authentication in the banking sector, is also of great interest.

W niniejszej pracy zbadano wpływ transmisji pakietowej na skuteczność systemu automatycznej identyfikacji mówców pracującego w oparciu o bayesowski klasyfikator LR. Modelowanie statystyczne w systemie prowadzone jest z wykorzystaniem algorytmów EM-GMM oraz MAP. W badaniach założono, że z transmisją pakietową wiążą się dwa zjawiska: utrata pakietów oraz kodowanie sygnału. W badaniach wykorzystano niektóre kodeki audio standardu H.323 ITU-T. Zjawisko utraty pakietów przybliżono za pomocą dwustanowego modelu Gilberta. Wyniki badań przedstawiono w postaci charakterystyk Tippetta.
In this study, the effect of packet transmission on the effectiveness of the automatic speaker recognition system was examined, working on the basis Bayesian classifier LR. Statistical modelling of the system is carried out using algorithms EM-GMM and MAP. The study assumed that the packet transmission is associated with the occurrence of loss and encoding of the signal. In the research, some codecs of the audio standard H.323 ITU-T were used. The occurrence of the packet loss was described by means of a Gilbert digital model. Test results of performed tests are presented in Tippett plots.

Celem rozważań – wobec braku w kodeksie postępowania cywilnego zunifikowanej regulacji poświęconej rozpoznawaniu przez sądy spraw z zakresu prawa rolnego – jest ustalenie, czy w świetle obowiązujących przepisów, a także utrwalonych poglądów doktryny istnieją przesłanki do wyodrębnienia procesowego modelu załatwiania tego rodzaju spraw. W artykule przeanalizowano dwie niewykluczające się wzajemnie opcje: dopuszczalność utworzenia postępowania odrębnego w sprawach z zakresu prawa rolnego oraz poddanie ich rozpoznawania sądownictwu wyspecjalizowanemu. W konkluzji rozważań przyjęto, że ze względu na trudność w realizacji kluczowego dla kwalifikacji spraw do postępowań odrębnych kryterium przedmiotowego, odnoszącego się do specyfiki spraw, a nie właściwości podmiotów, pierwszą koncepcję należy odrzucić. Takie rozwiązanie nie ma oparcia także w argumentach historycznych. Bardziej realne wydaje się rozwiązanie oparte na utworzeniu wyspecjalizowanych wydziałów lub składów orzekających w ramach funkcjonującej struktury sądownictwa.
L’articolo si propone – visto che nel codice di procedura civile manca una disciplina unificata dedicata al riconoscimento delle cause in materia di diritto agrario da parte dei tribunali – di stabilire se, alla luce delle disposizioni in vigore e delle consolidate opinioni dottrinali, esistano premesse che permettano di individuare un modello procedurale in grado di far affrontare questo tipo di cause. L’articolo analizza due opzioni non mutuamente esclusive: da una parte l’ammettere di avviare procedimenti separati in materia di diritto agrario, dall’altra il sottoporre il loro riconoscimento a tribunali specializzati. In conclusione, si è ritenuto che, data la difficoltà di attuare un criterio oggettivo, relativo alla specificità delle cause, e non alle proprietà dei soggetti, ma cruciale nel qualificare le cause per i procedimenti separati. il primo concetto vada scartato. Tale soluzione non è neanche supportata da argomentazioni storiche. Più realistica sembra la soluzione che presuppone di creare sezioni o collegi giudicanti specializzati da inserire all’interno di una struttura già funzionante della magistratura.
The aim of the considerations – in the absence in the Code of Civil Procedure of a unified regulation devoted to the recognition by courts of cases in agricultural law – is to determine whether, in the light of the current legislation as well as the established views of the doctrine, there are premises for the separation of the procedural model of handling this type of cases. Two not mutually exclusive options are analysed: the admissibility of instituting separate proceedings in agricultural law cases, and recognition of such cases by specialised jurisdiction. In conclusion it is assumed that due to the difficulty of implementing the essential criterion for the qualification of cases to separate proceedings pertaining to their specificity rather than the proper jurisdictions of the entities involved, the first concept should be rejected. Moreover, this concept cannot be supported by any historical reasons. A more realistic solution seems to be based on the creation of specialised divisions or panels of judges adjudicating within the functioning structure of the judiciary.

In the paper we present a Proper Name Recognition algorithm based on the Hidden Markov Model (HMM). Recognition of the Proper Names (PN) is treated as the basis for Named Entity Recognition problem in general. The proposed method is based on combining domain-dependent method based on HMM with domain independent methods based on gazetteers and hand-written rules for recognition and post-processing that capture the general properties of Polish PN structure. A large gazetteer with entries described morphologically was acquired from the web. The HMM re-scoring mechanism was applied as a basis for integration of different knowledge sources in PN recognition. Results of experiments on a domain corpus of Polish stock exchange reports, used for training and testing, are presented. A cross-domain evaluation on two other corpora is also presented. Adaptability of the method was analysed by applying the trained model to two other domain corpora.

In the paper, the method of acoustic model complexity level selection for automatic speech recognition is proposed. Selection of the appropriate model complexity affects significantly the accuracy of speech recognition. For this reason the selection of the appropriate complexity level is crucial for practical speech recognition applications, where end user effort related to the implementation of speech recognition system is important. We investigated the correlation between speech recognition accuracy and two popular information criteria used in statistical model evaluation: Bayesian Information Criterion and Akaike Information Criterion computed for applied acoustic models. Experiments carried out for language models related to general medicine texts and radiology diagnostic reporting in CT and MR showed strong correlation of speech recognition accuracy and BIC criterion. Using this dependency, the procedure of Gaussian mixture count selection for acoustic model was proposed. Application of this procedure makes it possible to create the acoustic model maximizing the speech recognition accuracy without additional computational costs related to alternative cross-validation approach and without reduction of training set size, which is unavoidable in the case of cross-validation approach.

Opis:
In the paper, the method of short word deletion errors correction in automatic speech recognition is described. Short word deletion errors appear to be a frequent error type in Polish speech recognition. The proposed speech recognition process consists of two stages. At the first stage the utterance is recognized by a typical speech recognizer based on forward bigram language model. At the second stage the word sequence recognized by the first stage recognizer is analyzed and such pairs of adjacent words in the recognized sequence are localized, which are likely to be separated by a short word like conjunction or preposition. The probability of short word appearance in context of found words is evaluated using centered trigrams and backward bigram language model for short words prone to deletion. The set of probabilistic language properties used to correct deletions is called here Local Bidirectional Language Model (in contrast to purely forward or backward model used typically in speech recognition). The decision of short word insertion is based on comparison of deletion error probability of the first stage recognizer and the error probability of the decision based only on centered trigrams and backward model. Despite its simplicity, the method proved to be effective in correcting deletion errors of most frequently appearing Polish prepositions. The method was tested in application to medical spoken reports recognition, where the overall short word deletion error rate was reduced by almost 45%.

The paper presents a new solution for the face recognition based on two-dimensional hidden Markov models. The traditional HMM uses one-dimensional data vectors, which is a drawback in the case of 2D and 3D image processing, because part of the information is lost during the conversion to one-dimensional features vector. The paper presents a concept of the full ergodic 2DHMM, which can be used in 2D and 3D face recognition. The experimental results demonstrate that the system based on two dimensional hidden Markov models is able to achieve a good recognition rate for 2D, 3D and multimodal (2D+3D) face images recognition, and is faster than ICP method.

Speaker‘s emotional states are recognized from speech signal with Additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). The influence of white noise on a typical emotion recogniztion system is studied. The emotion classifier is implemented with Gaussian mixture model (GMM). A Chinese speech emotion database is used for training and testing, which includes nine emotion classes (e.g. happiness, sadness, anger, surprise, fear, anxiety, hesitation, confidence and neutral state). Two speech enhancement algorithms are introduced for improved emotion classification. In the experiments, the Gaussian mixture model is trained on the clean speech data, while tested under AWGN with various signal to noise ratios (SNRs). The emotion class model and the dimension space model are both adopted for the evaluation of the emotion recognition system. Regarding the emotion class model, the nine emotion classes are classified. Considering the dimension space model, the arousal dimension and the valence dimension are classified into positive regions or negative regions. The experimental results show that the speech enhancement algorithms constantly improve the performance of our emotion recognition system under various SNRs, and the positive emotions are more likely to be miss-classified as negative emotions under white noise environment.

The currently dominant speech recognition technology, hidden Markov modeling, has long been criticized for its simplistic assumptions about speech, and especially for the naive Bayes combination rule inherent in it. Many sophisticated alternative models have been suggested over the last decade. These, however, have demonstrated only modest improvements and brought no paradigm shift in technology. The goal of this paper is to examine why HMM performs so well in spite of its incorrect bias due to the naive Bayes assumption. To do this we create an algorithmic framework that allows us to experiment with alternative combination schemes and helps us understand the factors that influence recognition performance. From the findings we argue that the bias peculiar to the naive Bayes rule is not really detrimental to phoneme classification performance. Furthermore, it ensures consistent behavior in outlier modeling, allowing efficient management of insertion and deletion errors.

Opis:
In this article a biologically-inspired algorithm for object recognition is presented. The approach is based on a hierarchical HMAX cortex model that was initially proposed by Riesenhuber and Poggio [12] and later extended by Serre et al [13]. The results show that despite the modification that were undertaken to simplify the HMAX model (in order to make it feasible for a real-time solutions) it is possible to achieve high effectiveness for a one-class detection problems. Moreover, it is also demonstrated how the proposed algorithm can be successfully deployed on a low-cost Android smartphone.

This paper explores how diasporans achieve business model innovation by using their unique resources. The hypothesis underlying the paper is that the unique backgrounds and resources of the diaspora businesses, due to different sources of information and experiences as well as multiple networks, contributes to business model innovation in a distinctive manner. We investigate the English school market in the Philippines which is established by East Asian diaspora who innovate a business model of conventional English schools. Two case studies were conducted with Japanese diaspora English schools. Their business is analyzed using a business model canvas (Osterwalder & Pigneur, 2010) and contrasted with the conventional business model. The empirical cases show that diaspora businesses use knowledge about their country of origin and engage with country of residence and multiple networks in different locations and constellations to identify unique opportunities, leading to a business model innovation.

Opis:
The paper is dedicated to algorithms for constructing a logical tree of classification. Nowadays, there exist many algorithms for constructing logical classification trees. However, all of them, as a rule, are reduced to the construction of a single classification tree based on the data of a fixed training sample. There are very few algorithms for constructing recognition trees that are designed for large data sets. It is obvious that such sets have objective factors associated with the peculiarities of the generation of such complex structures, methods of working with them and storage. In this paper, we focus on the description of the algorithm for constructing classification trees for a large training set and show the way to the possibility of a uniform description of a fixed class of recognition trees. A simple, effective, economical method of constructing a logical classification tree of the training sample allows you to provide the necessary speed, the level of complexity of the recognition scheme, which guarantees a simple and complete recognition of discrete objects.
Artykuł poświęcono algorytmom konstruowania logicznych drzew klasyfikacji. Większość tych algorytmów z reguły sprowadzają się do zbudowania jednego drzewa klasyfikacyjnego na podstawie stałej próby uczącej. Należy zauważyć, że niewiele algorytmów budowania drzew klasyfikacyjnych dla prób treningowych o dużej objętości. Oczywiste jest, że mają one obiektywne czynniki związane ze specyfi ką generowania takich struktur, metodami pracy z nimi i ich przechowywania. W niniejszym artykule autorzy skupiają się na opisie algorytmu konstruowania drzew klasyfikacyjnych dla dużego zbioru uczącego i wskazują możliwość jednolitego opisu stałej klasy drzew rozpoznawczych. Prosta, skuteczna i ekonomiczna metoda budowy logicznego drzewa klasyfikacyjnego dla danej próby uczącej pozwala na zapewnienie niezbędnej szybkości i stopnia złożoności schematu rozpoznawania, co gwarantuje proste i kompletne rozpoznawanie obiektów dyskretnych.

Speech recognition system extract the textual data from the speech signal. The research in speech recognition domain is challenging due to the large variabilities involved with the speech signal. Variety of signal processing and machine learning techniques have been explored to achieve better recognition accuracy. Speech is highly non-stationary in nature and therefore analysis is carried out by considering short time-domain window or frame. In the speech recognition task, cepstral (Mel frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC)) features are commonly used and are extracted for short time-frame. The effectiveness of features depend upon duration of the time-window chosen. The present study is aimed at investigation of optimal time-window duration for extraction of cepstral features in the context of speech recognition task. A speaker independent speech recognition system for the Kannada language has been considered for the analysis. In the current work, speech utterances of Kannada news corpus recorded from different speakers have been used to create speech database. The hidden Markov tool kit (HTK) has been used to implement the speech recognition system. The MFCC along with their first and second derivative coefficients are considered as feature vectors. Pronunciation dictionary required for the study has been built manually for mono-phone system. Experiments have been carried out and results have been analyzed for different time-window lengths. The overlapping Hamming window has been considered in this study. The best average word recognition accuracy of 61.58% has been obtained for a window length of 110 msec duration. This recognition accuracy is comparable with the similar work found in literature. The experiments have shown that best word recognition performance can be achieved by tuning the window length to its optimum value.

Modelowanie sygnału mowy za pomocą niejawnych modeli Markowa HMM (hidden Markov model) stanowi jeden z najefektywniejszych sposobów rozpoznawania mowy. Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest podstawom matematycznym teorii niejawnych modeli Markowa. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono w nim na wyprowadzenie zależności pozwalających stosować modele HMM do modelowania sygnałów. W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiono wyprowadzenie zależności pozwalające dobierać parametry modelu procesu Markowa. W dalszej części artykułu przedstawione są wyprowadzenia zależności pozwalające w sposób krokowy dobierać parametry modelu łańcucha Markowa. Opisane metody oparte są na minimalizacji prawdopodobieństwa wygenerowania losowej w czasie sekwencji obserwacji w funkcji parametrów modelu. W przedstawionych w artykule wyprowadzeniach na zależności pozwalające optymalizować modele HMM wykorzystano metodę mnożników Lagrange'a.
Modeling the speech signal with the use of hidden Markov models HMM constitutes one of the most effective ways of speech recognition. This article is devoted to mathematical bases of the theory of hidden Markov models. Special attention was paid in it to derivation of dependencies allowing appłying the models HMM for modeling signals. In the first part of the article there was presented derivation of dependencies allowing selection of parameters of the model of Markov process. In the further part of the article there are presented derivations of dependencies allowing sełecting parameters of the model of Markov chain in a stage way. The described methods are based on minimization of the probability of generating random-in-time sequence of observation in the function of parameters of the model. The method of Lagrange's multipliers was used in the derivations for dependencies, presented in the article, allowing optimizing the models HMM.

This paper presents novel feature extraction and classification methods for online handwritten Chinese character recognition (HCCR). The X-graph and Y-graph transformation is proposed for deriving a feature, which shows useful properties such as invariance to different writing styles. Central to the proposed method is the idea of capturing the geometrical and topological information from the trajectory of the handwritten character using the X-graph and the Y-graph. For feature size reduction, the Haar wavelet transformation was applied on the graphs. For classification, the coefficient of determination [...] from the two-dimensional unreplicated linear functional relationship model is proposed as a similarity measure. The proposed methods show strong discrimination power when handling problems related to size, position and slant variation, stroke shape deformation, close resemblance of characters, and non-normalization. The proposed recognition system is applied to a database with 3000 frequently used Chinese characters, yielding a high recognition rate of 97.4% with reduced processing time of 75.31%, 73.05%, 58.27% and 40.69% when compared with recognition systems using the city block distance with deviation (CBDD), the minimum distance (MD), the compound Mahalanobis function (CMF) and the modified quadratic discriminant function (MQDF), respectively. High precision rates were also achieved.

In the domain of affective computing different emotional expressions play an important role. To convey the emotional state of human emotions, facial expressions or visual cues are used as an important and primary cue. The facial expressions convey humans affective state more convincingly than any other cues. With the advancement in the deep learning techniques, the convolutional neural network (CNN) can be used to automatically extract the features from the visual cues; however variable sized and biased datasets are a vital challenge to be dealt with as far as implementation of deep models is concerned. Also, the dataset used for training the model plays a significant role in the retrieved results. In this paper, we have proposed a multi-model hybrid ensemble weighted adaptive approach with decision level fusion for personalized affect recognition based on the visual cues. We have used a CNN and pre-trained ResNet-50 model for the transfer learning. VGGFace model’s weights are used to initialize weights of ResNet50 for fine-tuning the model. The proposed system shows significant improvement in test accuracy in affective state recognition compared to the singleton CNN model developed from scratch or transfer learned model. The proposed methodology is validated on The Karolinska Directed Emotional Faces (KDEF) dataset with 77.85% accuracy. The obtained results are promising compared to the existing state of the art methods.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań wpływu doboru wartości parametrów algorytmu na poprawność i efektywność procesu rozpoznawania obiektu na obrazie z wykorzystaniem metody porównywania z 2-wymiarowym wzorcem. Jako badane parametry przyjęto liczbę iteracji operacji dylatacji wzorcowego konturu, rozmieszczenie punktów próbnych obiektu, liczbę modeli oraz wprowadzanie różnego rodzaju ograniczeń nakładanych podczas klasyfikowania obiektów. Rozpatrywano zarówno analizę obrazów zapisanych w formie plików graficznych, jak i materiału wideo.
The paper presents results of research on the influence of parameters values on the correctness and efficiency of image object recognition in the case of a two-dimensional pattern. The authors have examined such parameters as: the number of the operation of dilating the model contour, the arrangement of object testing points, the number of models used or imposing various restrictions on the object classifying process. Both graphical files and video data have been analysed.

Machine recognition of human emotional states is an essential part in improving man-machine interaction. During expressive speech the voice conveys semantic message as well as the information about emotional state of the speaker. The pitch contour is one of the most significant properties of speech, which is affected by the emotional state. Therefore pitch features have been commonly used in systems for automatic emotion detection. In this work different intensities of emotions and their influence on pitch features have been studied. This understanding is important to develop such a system. Intensities of emotions are presented on Plutchik's cone-shaped 3D model. The k Nearest Neighbor algorithm has been used for classification. The classification has been divided into two parts. First, the primary emotion has been detected, then its intensity has been specified. The results show that the recognition accuracy of the system is over 50% for primary emotions, and over 70% for its intensities.

We have applied the Genetic Algorithm (GA) to the problem of the atmospheric contaminant source localization. The algorithm input data are concentrations of given substance registered by sensor network. To achieve rapid-response event reconstruction,the fast-running Gaussian plume dispersion model is adopted as the forward model. The proposed GA scans 5-dimensional parameters space searching for the contaminant source coordinates (x,y), release strength (Q) and the atmospheric transport dispersion coefficients. Based on the synthetic experiment data the GA parameters like population size, number of generations and the genetic operators best suitable for the algorithm performance are identified. We demonstrate that proposed GA configuration can successfully point out the parameters of abrupt contamination source. Results indicate the probability of a source to occur at a particular location with a particular release rate. The shapes of the probability distribution function of searched parameters values reflect the uncertainty in observed data.

Artykuł dotyczy problemu tworzenia ukrytych modeli Markowa na podstawie zarejestrowanych wypowiedzi. Kluczowym problemem jest tu wyznaczenie zbioru stanów modelu Markowa. Przyjęto, że stany modelu są określone przez skupienia obserwacji. Skupienia te można uzyskać drogą grupowania sekwencji obserwacji sygnału mowy.
A problem of hidden Markov models formation on the basis of recorded speech is considered in this paper. The key issue is the designation of a Markov model set. The assumption is that each HMM state is associated with clusters of observations. The clusters may be obtained by gathering of observations sequences for a speech signal.

An attempt is made in this paper to solve the pick wear problem of mining machinery and propose a pick wear degradation model based on the Grey-Markov chain by using generated characteristics signals and certain pick wear parameters to enhance the prediction accuracy. The vibration and acoustic emission signals generated during the catting pick are extracted and analyzed. The energy and the value of the characteristic signal are obtained by wavelet analysis to construct a characteristic sample library of the signals. Two kinds of signals are applied to the model to analyze the error between the real and the predicted values. The model prediction results demonstrate a 1.43% error of the vibration signal, 1.64% error of the acoustic emission signal with 98% prediction accuracy, thus offers a new method for monitoring the pick wear of mining machinery.

Opis:
An optimization model for the cost–revenue study at the stage of system analysis and preliminary designs of storage objects such as warehouses, containers, packs and similar objects are developed. Our assumptions motivated by warehouses design lead us to a nonlinear integer optimization problem with the only basic constraint. We present algorithmic methods for obtaining the exact solution to the general problem with emphasizing the special case when both the objective and the constraint functions are increasing. The results of the paper may be used in developing software tools intended for supporting designers.

Automatic identification system (AIS) data are used to analyze vessels’ positions or maritime traffic. Recently, satellites are being adopted for gathering AIS data (satellite AIS). A satellite AIS can gather AIS data from all over the world, including the center of the ocean. However, because a satellite moves around the world every day, there is a very short window of time that the satellite can receive signals from some specific area. Furthermore, because a satellite AIS receives signals simultaneously from a wider area than a terrestrial AIS does, the satellite AIS has lower rate of signal reception, especially near vessel congested areas. This may cause many unrecognized vessels. For this situation, this paper proposes a new method to estimate the number of unrecognized vessels based on a binomial distribution model. With this method, we are able to estimate the number of unrecognized vessels just from satellite AIS data themselves.

The empirical study investigated to what extent the implementation of the dPMAT model (a didactic approach to supporting pupils with learning difficulties in mathematics) contributed to the qualification of teachers for the implementation of support to pupils with learning difficulties in mathematics. 80 mathematics teachers and 101 generalist teachers completed a questionnaire through which they rated the impact of the dPMAT model on their knowledge and skills in relation to the teaching and learning of students with difficulties in learning mathematics. The mathematics teachers assessed the contribution of the model to their skills in the selection and design of appropriate teaching aids (M = 4.1, Sd = 0.8) and in the recognition and identification of learning difficulties the highest (M = 4.0, Sd = 0.8). The generalist teachers assessed the contribution of the model to their skills in facilitating the use of appropriate teaching aids the highest (M = 4.0, Sd = 1.1).

Opis:
The Hidden Markov Model (HMM) is a stochastic approach to recognition of patterns appearing in an input signal. In the work author's implementation of the HMM were used to recognize speech disorders - prolonged fricative phonemes. To achieve the best recognition effectiveness and simultaneously preserve reasonable time required for calculations two problems need to be addressed: the choice of the HMM and the proper preparation of an input data. Tests results for recognition of the considered type of speech disorders are presented for HMM models with different number of states and for different sizes of codebooks.

The same speech sounds (phones) produced by different speakers can sometimes exhibit significant differences. Therefore, it is essential to use algorithms compensating these differences in ASR systems. Speaker clustering is an attractive solution to the compensation problem, as it does not require long utterances or high computational effort at the recognition stage. The report proposes a clustering method based solely on adaptation of UBM model weights. This solution has turned out to be effective even when using a very short utterance. The obtained improvement of frame recognition quality measured by means of frame error rate is over 5%. It is noteworthy that this improvement concerns all vowels, even though the clustering discussed in this report was based only on the phoneme a. This indicates a strong correlation between the articulation of different vowels, which is probably related to the size of the vocal tract.

The operation of a financial reporting system is very expensive. In all areas where costs arise, it is important to examine whether the benefits exceed the costs or not. The objectives of financial reporting in Hungary are specified by Act C of 2000 on Accounting (HLA). In this paper, we will show these objectives and the defined accounting principles, as well. With the help of previous research, we have reviewed how accounting quality is measured. The aim of this research is to examine the difference in accounting quality between the publicly listed and private companies in Hungary and develop an evaluation process that takes due account of the complexity of the topic. To this end, we studied the separate (non-consolidated) financial statements of 63 Hungarian companies during the period of 1998-2016. Forty-seven percent of the statements were disclosed by public companies and fifty-three percent were disclosed by private companies. The examined financial statements were prepared in accordance with the HLA. To evaluate the data, we examined accruals, timely loss recognition, the volatility of earnings, cash flow and earnings management towards target. To summarize the results, we developed an evaluation model which is based on the basic accounting principles and the above-mentioned methods. We found that publicly listed companies have higher accounting quality compared to private companies.
System sprawozdawczości finansowej jest bardzo kosztowny. We wszystkich obszarach, w których powstają koszty, ważne jest oszacowanie, czy korzyści przewyższają koszty, czy też nie. Cele sprawozdawczości finansowej na Węgrzech reguluje ustawa C z 2000 roku o rachunkowości. W niniejszym opracowaniu zostaną one przedstawione oraz określone zasady rachunkowości. Na podstawie innych badań ustalono, w jaki sposób mierzona jest jakość rachunkowości. Celem tego badania jest wskazanie różnicy w jakości rachunkowości spółek notowanych na giełdzie i prywatnych przedsiębiorstw na Węgrzech oraz opracowanie procesu oceny, uwzględniającego złożoność tematu. W tym celu zbadano jednostkowe (nieskonsolidowane) sprawozdania finansowe 63 węgierskich spółek w latach 1998–2016. 47 procent sprawozdań zostało sporządzonych przez spółki publiczne, a 53 procent przez spółki prywatne. Zbadane sprawozdania finansowe zostały sporządzone zgodnie z postanowieniami HLA. Aby ocenić pozyskane dane, zbadaliśmy rozliczenia międzyokresowe, termi-nowe rozpoznawanie strat, zmienność zysków, przepływ środków pieniężnych i zarządzanie zyskami pod kątem realizacji założonych celów. Aby podsumować wyniki, opracowano model ewaluacyjny, który opiera się na podstawowych zasadach rachunkowości i wymienionych metodach. Stwierdzono, że spółki notowane na giełdzie mają wyższą jakość rachunkowości w porównaniu ze spółkami prywatnymi.

Artykuł prezentuje zmiany w zakresie regulacji prawnej dotyczącej udziału organizacji konsumenckich w postępowania w sprawach o uznanie postanowień wzorca umowy za niedozwolone, które od dnia 17 kwietnia 2016 r. należą do właściwości Prezesa UOKiK. Autorka przedstawia uprawnienia przyznane tym podmiotom w związku z postępowaniem, którego przedmiotem jest abstrakcyjna kontrola postanowień wzorców umów dokonywana w trybie postępowania administracyjnego zarówno na etapie poprzedzającym wszczęcie tego postępowania, jak i w jego toku oraz po jego zakończeniu. Porównując te uprawnienia z dotychczasowymi uprawnieniami przyznanymi organizacjom konsumenckim w postępowaniu sądowym, w przedmiocie uznania postanowień wzorca umowy za niedozwolone podejmuje próbę określenia, w jaki sposób zmieniła się sytuacja prawna organizacji konsumenckich w postępowaniach, których celem jest abstrakcyjna kontrola postanowień wzorców umowy.
This article presents changes in Polish legislation on the participation of consumer organizations in proceedings on the recognition of provisions of model contracts as prohibited clauses. Unlike their past judicial character, the conduct of such proceedings is since 17 April 2016 within the competences of the Polish NCA – the UOKiK President. The Author presents powers granted to consumer organisation in connection to the (now administrative) proceedings, the purpose of which is to exercise abstract control over the provisions of model contracts. The article considers these powers in the time frame before the initiation of such proceedings, within their course and after their closure. The Author compares current powers of consumer organisations with those granted to them by earlier legislation within the old framework of judicial proceedings on the recognition of the provisions of model contracts as prohibited clauses. The paper assesses also how the legal situation of consumer organizations has changed over time in proceedings the purpose of which is to exercise abstract control over provisions of model contracts.

The left heart chamber's contractibility is an important part of heart diagnostics. Ultrasonographic pictures are very often used as the imaging method, as they are widely available, inexpensive and non-invasive. However, ultrasonographic pictures are very unclear, blurred and noisy, and thus very difficult for automatic analysis. To obtain a quick and useful analysis of ventricle performance, a special mathematical model has been created. The model can be used in contour detection, visualization of the heart's motion and even in automatic surface analysis. We hope that in the future such programs could be incorporated into a general medical expert system.

For the past few years, artificial neural networks (ANNs) have been one of the most common solutions relied upon while developing automated speech recognition (ASR) acoustic models. There are several variants of ANNs, such as deep neural networks (DNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs), and convolutional neural networks (CNNs). A CNN model is widely used as a method for improving image processing performance. In recent years, CNNs have also been utilized in ASR techniques, and this paper investigates the preliminary result of an end-to-end CNN-based ASR using NVIDIA NeMo on the Iban corpus, an under-resourced language. Studies have shown that CNNs have also managed to produce excellent word error (WER) rates for the acoustic model on ASR for speech data. Conversely, results and studies concerned with under-resourced languages remain unsatisfactory. Hence, by using NVIDIA NeMo, a new ASR engine developed by NVIDIA, the viability and the potential of this alternative approach are evaluated in this paper. Two experiments were conducted: the number of resources used in the works of our ASR’s training was manipulated, as was the internal parameter of the engine used, namely the epochs. The results of those experiments are then analyzed and compared with the results shown in existing papers.

The purpose of this paper was to develop an intelligent recognition system consisting of a feature reduction method combining cluster and correlation analyses, and a probabilistic neural network (PNN) classifier to identify different types of hip shape from 3D measurement for each person. Firstly 28 items reflecting lower body part information of 300 female university students aging from 20 to 24 years were selected. The feature reduction method was employed to extract typical indices. Secondly hip shapes were subdivided into five types by a K-means cluster and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Finally the PNN was then trained to serve as a classifier for identifying five different hip shape types. The average classification accuracy of the scheme proposed was 97.37%, and its effectiveness was successfully validated by comparing with the BP and Support Vector Machine (SVM) scheme. Thus an intelligent recognition system was developed to make hip shape type classification of high-precision and time saving.
Model łączy analizę skupień i korelacji oraz probabilistyczną sztuczną sieć neuronową dla identyfikacji różnych typów kształtów bioder opartą o pomiary 3D poszczególnych osób. Wyselekcjonowano 28 przypadków odzwierciedlających dolną część sylwetki 300 studentek w wieku od 20 do 24 lat. Zastosowano metodę redukcji poszczególnych właściwości dla wybrania typowych wskaźników. Następnie kształt bioder podzielono na 5 typów za pomocą algorytmu klastrowego i systemu ANOVA (analiza wariancji). Następnie przeprowadzono trening sieci neuronowej aby mogła posłużyć jako klasyfikator identyfikacji 5 różnych kształtów bioder. Przeciętna dokładność klasyfikacji proponowanego systemu wynosiła 97,37%, a efektywność była sukcesywnie sprawdzana przez porównanie schematów BP i SVM. W ten sposób stworzono inteligentny system rozpoznania typu kształtu bioder o dużej precyzji, pozwalający na oszczędność czasu.

Biologically inspired artificial neural networks have been widely used for machine learning tasks such as object recognition. Deep architectures, such as the Convolutional Neural Network, and the Deep Belief Network have recently been implemented successfully for object recognition tasks. We conduct experiments to test the hypothesis that certain primarily generative models such as the Deep Belief Network should perform better on the occluded object recognition task than purely discriminative models such as Convolutional Neural Networks and Support Vector Machines. When the generative models are run in a partially discriminative manner, the data does not support the hypothesis. It is also found that the implementation of Gaussian visible units in a Deep Belief Network trained on occluded image data allows it to also learn to effectively classify non-occluded images.

W artykule przedstawiono segmentację obrazu bazująca na wykorzystaniu algorytmu działów wodnych (ang. Watershed algorithm), które zdobywa w ostatnich latach coraz szersze uznanie, jako skuteczna metoda detekcji obiektów. Wykorzystujemy fakt, iż poszukiwany obiekt powinien wykazywać podobieństwo geometryczne dotyczące kształtu, rozmiaru i położenia. Następnie połączenie tych cech z pobranym obrazem przetwarzanym na bieżąco pozwoli na zwrócenie współrzędnych prostokąta, który otoczy największy obiekt o wybranym kolorze. Celem proponowanego algorytmu będzie umożliwienie dokładnego dopasowania zadanego modelu do poszukiwanego obiektu, co w konsekwencji pozwoli na skuteczną detekcję na wszystkich obrazach z danej serii tematycznej. Omówiono również model wokselowy obiektu. Badania oparto na bibliotekach OpenCV.
The article deals with the segmentation and recognition of the image based on the use of Watershed algorithm Watershed algorithm has gained ever greater recognition as an effective method of detecting objects in recent years. We use the fact that the object sought should show the geometric similarity of the shape, Size and position. Then combining these features with the downloaded image to be processed will allow you to return the coordinates of the rectangle, which will the largest object of the selected color. The purpose of the proposed algorithm will be to allow an exact match of the specified model to the object you are looking for, which will result in effective detection of all images from the given series. Also discusses the voxel object model. The study was based on OpenCV libraries.

This paper focuses on the issue of big data analytics for traffic accident prediction based on SparkMllib cores; however, Spark’s Machine Learning Pipelines provide a helpful and suitable API that helps to create and tune classification and prediction models to decision-making concerning traffic accidents. Data scientists have recently focused on classification and prediction techniques for traffic accidents; data analytics techniques for feature extraction have also continued to evolve. Analysis of a huge volume of received data requires considerable processing time. Practically, the implementation of such processes in real-time systems requires a high computation speed. Processing speed plays an important role in traffic accident recognition in real-time systems. It requires the use of modern technologies and fast algorithms that increase the acceleration in extracting the feature parameters from traffic accidents. Problems with overclocking during the digital processing of traffic accidents have yet to be completely resolved. Our proposed model is based on advanced processing by the Spark MlLib core. We call on the real-time data streaming API on spark to continuously gather real-time data from multiple external data sources in the form of data streams. Secondly, the data streams are treated as unbound tables. After this, we call the random forest algorithm continuously to extract the feature parameters from a traffic accident. The use of this proposed method makes it possible to increase the speed factor on processors. Experiment results showed that the proposed method successfully extracts the accident features and achieves a seamless classification performance compared to other conventional traffic accident recognition algorithms. Finally, we share all detected accidents with details onto online applications with other users.

Opis:
In the article we outline some characteristics of proper names as a linguistic phenomenon, their communicative and compositional features, stylistic functions and interpretive-perceptual models. We consider our own names as linguistic universals that convey the linguistic and cultural code of a particular nation, revealing similarities or differences in representation in different languages. In addition to naming an object or person, proper names also perform the function of characterizing those objects or people. A comparative analysis of the use of proper names in presidential inaugural speeches and in proverbs presents proper names not only as separate textual elements, but also demonstrates the historical and cultural specificity of each country, embodied in its language, political and social accents, traditions passed down from generation to generation. Due to the recurrent use of texts, proper names create additional connotations and develop associative thinking of the reader or listener. Some of these proper names are elements of national identity, while others become a civilization property.

The paper concerns estimation of significance of differences of mutagenesis level between the wild-type strain (wt) and its derivatives which differ in DNA repair ability, namely alkA and alkB strain, devoided AlkA glycosylase and AlkB dioxygenase activity, respectively. The strains were analyzed for their ability to repair 1,N6-ethenoadenine (εA) - chloroacetaldehyde adduct to DNA. The analysis was done using classical statistical and pattern recognition methods. The obtained results confirmed that AlkB dioxygenase plays the most important role in εA repair in E. coli in the experimental modeling.

Opis:
Dynamic hand gestures attract great interest and are utilized in different fields. Amongthese, man-machine interaction is an interesting area that makes use of the hand to providea natural way of interaction between them. A dynamic hand gesture recognition system isproposed in this paper, which helps to perform control operations in applications such asmusic players, video games, etc. The key motivation of this research is to provide a simple, touch-free system for effortless and faster human-computer interaction (HCI). As thisproposed model employs dynamic hand gestures, HCI is achieved by building a modelwith a convolutional neural network (CNN) and long short-term memory (LSTM) net-works. CNN helps in extracting important features from the images and LSTM helpsto extract the motion information between the frames. Various models are constructedby differing the LSTM and CNN layers. The proposed system is tested on an existing EgoGesture dataset that has several classes of gestures from which the dynamic gesturesare utilized. This dataset is used as it has more data with a complex background, actionsperformed with varying speeds, lighting conditions, etc. This proposed hand gesture recognition system attained an accuracy of 93%, which is better than other existing systemssubject to certain limitations.

Research work on the design of robust multimodal speech recognition systems making use of acoustic, and visual cues, extracted using the relatively noise robust alternate speech sensors is gaining interest in recent times among the speech processing research fraternity. The primary objective of this work is to study the exclusive influence of Lombard effect on the automatic recognition of the confusable syllabic consonant-vowel units of Hindi language, as a step towards building robust multimodal ASR systems in adverse environments in the context of Indian languages which are syllabic in nature. The dataset for this work comprises the confusable 145 consonant-vowel (CV) syllabic units of Hindi language recorded simultaneously using three modalities that capture the acoustic and visual speech cues, namely normal acoustic microphone (NM), throat microphone (TM) and a camera that captures the associated lip movements. The Lombard effect is induced by feeding crowd noise into the speaker’s headphone while recording. Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models are built to categorise the CV units based on their place of articulation (POA), manner of articulation (MOA), and vowels (under clean and Lombard conditions). For validation purpose, corresponding Hidden Markov Models (HMM) are also built and tested. Unimodal Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) systems built using each of the three speech cues from Lombard speech show a loss in recognition of MOA and vowels while POA gets a boost in all the systems due to Lombard effect. Combining the three complimentary speech cues to build bimodal and trimodal ASR systems shows that the recognition loss due to Lombard effect for MOA and vowels reduces compared to the unimodal systems, while the POA recognition is still better due to Lombard effect. A bimodal system is proposed using only alternate acoustic and visual cues which gives a better discrimination of the place and manner of articulation than even standard ASR system. Among the multimodal ASR systems studied, the proposed trimodal system based on Lombard speech gives the best recognition accuracy of 98%, 95%, and 76% for the vowels, MOA and POA, respectively, with an average improvement of 36% over the unimodal ASR systems and 9% improvement over the bimodal ASR systems.

Metodyka/podejście badawcze: Opracowanie ma charakter metodologiczny i zawiera modele wyprowadzone na drodze dedukcyjnej z regulacji prawnych rachunkowości w Polsce, tj. ustawy o rachunkowości i Krajowych Standardów Rachunkowości, oparte na normatywnej teorii rachunkowości. Wyniki: Sformułowano trzy modele rozliczeniowe umożliwiające ujęcie dodatnich wartości początkowych składników aktywów zorganizowanej części przedsiębiorstwa o ujemnej wartości godziwej. Są to: Model Całościowych Współczynników Korygujących, Model Malejących Współczynników Korygujących i Model Sumy Cyfr Rocznych. Rozważono uwarunkowania ich aplikacji i zilustrowano je przykładem schematycznym. Ograniczenia/implikacje badawcze: Proponowane modele mogą zostać zastosowane i zweryfikowane na konkretnych przypadkach połączeń w Polsce, aby ocenić użyteczność poszczególnych modeli. Oryginalność/wartość: Artykuł zawiera oryginalne propozycje modeli umożliwiających rozliczenie ujemnej wartości godziwej zgodnie z polskimi regulacjami rachunkowości jako wypełnienie luki badawczej polegającej na braku właściwej metody rozliczenia wartości w takim przypadku zgodnie z tymi regulacjami.
