    We investigate the dependence of the [formula] dispersive estimates for one-dimensional radial Schrödinger operators on boundary conditions at 0. In contrast to the case of additive perturbations, we show that the change of a boundary condition at zero results in the change of the dispersive decay estimates if the angular momentum is positive, l ∈ (0,1/2). However, for nonpositive angular momenta, l ∈ (—1/2,0], the standard [formula] decay remains true for all self-adjoint realizations.

    In this paper we establish a priori estimates and then an existence theorem of positive solutions for a Dirichlet problem on a bounded smooth domain in [formula] with a nonlinearity involving gradient terms. The existence result is proved with no use of a Liouviiie theorem for the limit problem obtained via the usual blow up method, in particular we refer to the modified version by Ruiz. In particular our existence theorem extends a result by Lorca and Ubilla in two directions, namely by considering a nonlinearity which includes in the gradient term a power of u and by removing the growth condition for the nonlinearity ∫ at u = 0.

    Opis:
    A review on the development of marginal oil fields in Nigeria has now become an important strategic issue if it is to remain amongst the top producers in the global market, and these fields are vast, available all over the Niger Delta. One of the factors that makes a field marginal is the size of its reserves. Stochastic estimation gives a certainty in terms of the possible number of outcomes within the range of input parameters. In this work, four (4) deviated wells and 3D seismic volume (362 inlines and 401 traces) were interpreted for the evaluation of the field. The petrophysical evaluations were interpreted using the Power Log software and the Seismic, Geographix and Petrel softwares. Stochastic reserve estimation was done using Monte Carlo sampling techniques and subjected to uncertainty quantification using the Crystal Ball software by varying distributions and measuring sensitivity impact on the overall reserves. The production profile was predicted based on some assumptions and history matching which result in the overall Expected Ultimate Recovery (EUR). The petrophysical analysis shows the reservoirs to be within the unconsolidated continental Benin Formation denoted as ‘Intra-Benin’ sands, an unconventional reservoir as supposed the normal reservoir rocks within the Agbada Formation. This indicated high porosity (0.28), water resistivity (7 Ω∙m), and water saturation and also inferred Heavy Oil (low API). Nine hydrocarbon sands were identified but only three (B1, D and E), representing shallow, mid and deep reservoirs were further evaluated. 1P and 2P reserve estimates were 4.8 MMBO and 5.7 MMBO for B1; 15.2 MMMscf and 16.4 MMMscf for D; 8.4 MMMscf and 8.8 MMMscf for E respectively. The Monte Carlo simulation of 1,000,000 trials with mainly triangular distribution assumption generated P10, P50, P90 were 6.5 MMBO, 5.6 MMBO and 4.4 MMBO for B1; 17.5 MMMscf, 13.7 MMMscf and 10.8 MMMscf for D; 10.4 MMMscf, 8 MMMscf and 6.1 MMMscf for E respectively. The sensitivity impact of the input parameters were estimated and ranked, and the coefficient of variability ranges within 15% to 20% for the reservoirs indicating that there is a very low level uncertainty of reserve estimation around the P10, P50 and P90 percentiles which could be positive for investment decisions. ‘OWA’ marginal field reflects a typical low reserve (EUR) category found within the Niger Delta basin.

    We give a theorem on the error estimate of approximate solutions for difference functional equations of the Volterra type. We apply this general result in the investigation of the stability of difference schemes generated by nonlinear first order partial differential functional equations and by parabolic problems. We show that all known results on difference methods for initial or initial boundary value problems can be obtained as particular cases of this general and simple result. We assume that the right hand sides of equations satisfy nonlinear estimates of the Perron type with respect to functional variables.

    We abandon the setting of the domain as a Cartesian product of real intervals, customary for first order PFDEs (partial functional differential equations) with initial boundary conditions. We give a new set of conditions on the possibly unbounded domain Ω with Lipschitz differentiable boundary. Well-posedness is then reliant on a variant of the normal vector condition. There is a neighbourhood of ∂Ω with the property that if a characteristic trajectory has a point therein, then its every earlier point lies there as well. With local assumptions on coefficients and on the free term, we prove existence and Lipschitz dependence on data of classical solutions on (0,c)×Ω to the initial boundary value problem, for small c. Regularity of solutions matches this domain, and the proof uses the Banach fixed-point theorem. Our general model of functional dependence covers problems with deviating arguments and integro-differential equations.

    We consider the Cauchy problem for infinite system of differential functional equations $\partial_{t}z_{k}(t, x) = f_{k}(t, x, z, \partial_{x}z_{k}(t, x)), k \in \mathbf{N}$. In the paper we consider a general class of difference methods for this problem. We prove the convergence of methods under the assumptions that given functions satisfy the nonlinear estimates of the Perron type with respect to functional variables. The proof is based on functional difference inequalities. We constructed the Euler method as an example of difference method.

We apply this result to investigate the stability of constructed difference schemes.     The theorem of the local existence, uniqueness and estimates of solutions in Hölder spaces for some nonlinear differential evolutionary system with initial conditions is formulated and proved. This system is composed of one partial hyperbolic second-order equation and an ordinary subsystem with a parameter. In the proof of the theorem we use the Banach fixed-point theorem, the Arzeli-Ascola lemma and the integral form of the differential problem.

    We consider the classical solutions of mixed problems for infinite, countable systems of parabolic functional differential equations. Difference methods of two types are constructed and convergence theorems are proved. In the first type, we approximate the exact solutions by solutions of infinite difference systems. Methods of second type are truncation of the infinite difference system, so that the resulting difference problem is finite and practically solvable. The proof of stability is based on a comparison technique with nonlinear estimates of the Perron type for the given functions. The comparison system is infinite. Parabolic problems with deviated variables and integro-differential problems can be obtained from the general model by specifying the given operators.

    Przedstawiono ujawnione zależności i prawidłowości rozmieszczenia konkrecji polimetalicznych występujących w polu konkrecjonośnym Clarion-Clipperton na Pacyfiku. Wykazano ścisłe związki rozwoju morfostrukturalnego tego regionu z ewolucją Płyty Pacyficznej, w okresie mezo-kenozoicznym. Charakter ukształtowania dna jest bezpośrednim odzwierciedleniem rozwoju geologicznego i zmieniających się warunków sedymentacyjnych determinujących formowanie produktywnych konkrecjonośnych stref złożowych. Wyróżniony typ hydrogeniczny konkrecji "H" o relatywnie wyższych zawartościach Fe i Co wykazuje w porównaniu do typu diagenetycznego "D" i przejściowego "HD" obniżone zawartości Mn, Ni i Cu. Na obszarze wydobywczym IOM dominujące znaczenie mają konkrecje typu "D" i "HD" (o podwyższonej zawartości REE) wyrażające się wysokim wskaźnikiem konkrecjonośności i zawartości metali, zalegające w interwale głębokości 4200-4500 m ppm. Przyjęte graniczne kryteria wydzielenia obszaru złożowego, w tym wysoki wskaźnik konkrecjo nośności powyżej 10 kg/m2 oraz zawartości Mn (>30%) i sumy (Cu+Ni+Co > 2,5%) oraz nachylenie dna (< 7 stopni) potwierdzają wysoką perspektywiczność tego pola, w tym obszaru wydobywczego IOM.
    The paper presents revealed relationships and regularities of polymetallic nodules distribution occurring on the Clarion-Clipperton nodules field. The strict correlations between morfostructural development of the region with the Pacific Plate evolution in the mezo-cenozic were demonstrated. The seabed form characteristics are direct reflection of geological development and changing sedimentation conditions determining the formation of productive nodule deposits. The selected hydrogenetic nodule type "H" with higher relative contents of Fe and Co shows in comparison against diagenetic type "D" and transition type "HD" lower contents of Mn, Ni and Cu. In the IOM mining area the greatest significance have type "D" and "HD" (with increased content of REE) and high nodules abundance and metal content, occurring at depth interval of 4200-4500 m. Adopted criteria for mining area delineation, including high nodule abundance above 10 kg/m2 and Mn content (> 30%) and high grade sum of Cu, Ni, Co > 2,5% and bottom slope < 7 degree, confirm the IOM ore deposits can be considered perspective.
