    Softwood cuttings of cornelian cherry were rooted in the mixture of high moss peat and perlite with pH 5.0, in a polyethylene foil tunnel with automatic mist system placed in unheated greenhouse. Two-nodded, sub-apical, 10–12 cm long soft-wood cuttings were obtained from mother shrubs of several dozen years old. They were treated or not with Rhizopon AA containing 1% auxin IBA. Bases of cuttings were wounded or not. Application of Rhizopon AA was essential for the rooting of the cornelian cherry. Cuttings not treated with auxin did not produce adventitious roots. Wounding of cuttings decreased rooting efficiency. Rooting efficiency of cornelian cherry was also influenced by genotype.

    Główną ideą tego opracowania jest pokazanie, że region Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej można scharakteryzować w wymiarze kulturowym i politycznym przez metaforę zranienia. Również uwzględniająca kontekst historyczny interpretacja tego regionu może być zbudowana na podstawie metafory rany. Zranienie społeczne jako paradygmat interpretacyjny tego regionu, który pojawia się w publicznych wypowiedziach polityków i przywódców religijnych, stanowi jedno z ważniejszych wyzwań dla miejscowych społeczeństw. Problem opracowania można wyrazić w złożonym pytaniu: jak społeczeństwa regionu radzą sobie z własnymi ranami, w jakim stopniu doświadczenie poniesionych w minionej przeszłości urazów wpływa na kształtowanie się ich zbiorowej tożsamości dzisiaj oraz jak praca nad bolesną przeszłością przyczynia się do budowania jedności z innymi narodami regionu? Doświadczenie zranienia społecznego stanowi dla Kościołów chrześcijańskich i innych wspólnot religijnych duże wyzwanie, które nakazuje ocenić krytycznie dotychczasowe formy praktyki pojednania jako zbyt indywidualistyczne. Współcześnie należy wypracować nowy wspólnotowy model pojednania i budowania pokoju na poziomie lokalnym, krajowym i międzynarodowym, a Kościoły chrześcijańskie mają w tym zakresie wiele do zrobienia.
    Since the first quarter after the fall of communism in Central and Eastern Europe religions and bigger and smaller religious communities are one of the most important public players. In every post-communist states there are new laws regarding freedom of religion and church financing. Local religious communities are important players in the rebuilding of civil society. Over the national/nationalistic dimension of the new public presence of religion there are some regional issues of history, identity and live in freedom, which should be analyzed. Contemporary Central and Eastern Europe can be characterized as one multiple cultural region in seeking social and cultural identity. One of the most important dimension of the regional context is the post-genocide experience, the permanent imagination of genocides and other forms of historical wounds. Under genocides I mean the experience of so called bloodlands (Snyder), Holocaust and Srebrenica. In my presentation I try to argue for one particular interpretation of the societies in Central and Eastern Europe dealing with post-genocide public discourses. Religions, theologies and churches play important role in seeking and offering post-genocide identity – that kind of public activity is in my opinion the central and special point in the adequate and appropriate interpretation of contemporary processes in the region; and that approach can be seen as one particular and original theoretical framework for understanding the region today and not at least for one new vision of pastoral care as well.

    Opis:
    The review of regeneration processes after tree stem wounding is given. The wounds can be caused by various abiotic and biotic factors and also by human activities. The regeneration processes differ between shallow and deep wounds. Regeneration of deep stem wounds involves both filling the cavity and regeneration of the cambial surface. The pattern of cambial activity and differentiation xylem tissues are modified at various distances from the wound edges. Involvement of mechanical stress in the regeneration processes is discussed.

    Opis:
    Various organs of Hippeastrum infected by Phoma narcissi, infested with mite, Steneotarsonemus laticeps or mechanically wounded, produce red pigment on the surface of injured tissues. The aim of the present work was to study the effect of salicylic (SA) and acetylsalicylic acids (ASA) (inhibitors of biosynthesis of jasmonates and ethylene) on red pigment formation in wounded scales of bulbs of Hippeastrum and on the mycelium growth of P. narcissi in vivo and in vitro. SA and ASA at a concentration of 1 and 2 mM partially inhibited the formation of red pigment in wounded scales, first of all in first 2 days after treatment. The growth and development of P. narcissi on basal plate and scales of longitudinally cut Hippeastrum bulb treated with SA and ASA (1 and 2 mM) was similar as in control. SA (50 µg·cm⁻³) and ASA (250 µg·cm⁻³) inhibited the mycelium growth of P. narcissi on PDA medium, and concentration of 1000 µg·cm⁻³ of both almost totally inhibited the mycelium growth of the pathogen. Inhibitory effect of SA and ASA on the formation of red pigment in wounded scales of Hippeastrum may be caused by lowered biosynthesis and accumulation of jasmonates.
    Różne organy Hippeastrum zainfekowane przez grzyb Phoma narcissi, w następstwie żerowania roztocza Steneotarsonemus laticeps lub uszkodzone mechanicznie, wytwarzają na powierzchni uszkodzonych tkanek czerwony barwnik. Celem badań było poznanie wpływu kwasów salicylowego (SA) i acetylosalicylowego (ASA) (inhibitorów biosyntezy jasmonianów i biosyntezy etylenu) na tworzenie się czerwonego barwnika w uszkodzonych łuskach cebuli Hippeastrum i wzrost grzybni P. narcissi. Kwas salicylowy i kwas acetylosalicylowy wykazały hamujący wpływ na tworzenie się czerwonego barwnika w uszkodzonych łuskach, zwłaszcza w pierwszych 2 dniach po traktowaniu. Wzrost i rozwój grzybni P. narcissi na piętce i łuskach przekrojonych wzdłuż cebuli Hippeastrum i traktowanych SA i ASA w stężeniu 1 i 2 mM był podobny jak w kontroli. Kwas salicylowy w stężeniu 50 µg·cm⁻³, oraz kwas acetylosalicylowy w stężeniu 250 µg·cm⁻³ ograniczały wzrost grzybni P. narcissi na pożywce PDA; w stężeniu 1000 µg·cm⁻³ wystąpiło niemal całkowite zahamowanie wzrostu patogena. Hamujący wpływ SA i ASA na tworzenie się czerwonego barwnika w uszkodzonych łuskach Hippeastrum może być spowodowany obniżeniem biosyntezy i akumulacji jasmonianów.

Wskazanie na pedagogikę egzystencjalną jako uzasadnienie poczynań wychowawczych tam stosowanych, jakie ostatnio obserwujemy, wydaje się słuszne. Podstawowe kategorie tej pedagogiki, takie jak poczucie swojej wartości, przestrzeń wychowawcza, ochrona, oparcie, mogą pomóc w trudnej i odpowiedzialnej pracy z dziećmi skrzywdzonymi, a także w wielu innych obszarach pracy.
    Children’s villages are communities for orphans or children who cannot grow up in their own families. They are still of interest as a form of care. It seems right to point to existential pedagogy as a justification for the educational activities applied there recently. Basic categories of this pedagogy, such as self-esteem, educational space, protection, support, can help in difficult and responsible work with abused children. And also in many other areas of work.

    Two field inoculation experiments were conducted to study intraspecific variation in vertical spread of the P-, S- andF-IS-group isolates of Heterobasidion annosum in stems of Pinus sylvestris, Picea abies and Abies alba. Host-plants were inoculated with four isolates of each IS group after 10 mm long wounds made with a sterile knife (experiment 1) or 3 mm diameter radial holes made with a drill (experiment 2). On pine, the P-group isolates were more virulent than S andF isolates in terms of infection frequency, mortality rate andvertical spread in sapwood. The S isolates had higher incidence of infection and extensive growth on spruce than on pine. The F isolates were significantly less virulent on pine andspruce than on fir. Vertical spreadof all IS groups on fir was similar. In spite of between-strain-within-IS group variation in vertical spreadon each host, the study provided strong evidence for the occurrence of intraspecific differences in the host preference. In the interspecific analysis with three hosts, the isolates, IS groups andhost × strain andhost × IS group interactions accountedfor most of the explainedvariation, while host-plants accountedfor the smallest portion of the variance.
