Currently, the majority of cargo transported by multi-axle long and heavy-haul motor vehicles, most of which have possibility of front axle wheels are steering only. In the case of performing the obstacle avoidance maneuver, the overtaking maneuver or the parking maneuver, they are a significant difficulty for the driver because of the width of the occupied road lane when the vehicle moves on the road curve, lane which is wider than greater is the front wheels steering angle and greater overall vehicle length. The occurrence of the ofexcessive lateral tire slip phenomenon when driving on curved road trach is the cause of accelerated wear of tire tread, which together with a large number of wheels would lead to higher operational costs ofsuch vehicles. This work using a spatial dynamic model of the vehicle consisting of a two-axle tractor and three-axle trailer with many degrees of freedom, with the possibility of all the wheels steering, moving on a road curve, is a qualitative analysis of the wheels steering problem aimed at the avoidance ofslip in the pneumatic tire - road surface coactions area. The model of coactions of pneumatic tire with the road surface, side drift included, together with accounting the phenomenon of asymmetrical loading of the vehicle chassis and drive train was adopted. Control for all the wheels steering should lead to an overlay or the maximum approximation of the front axle wheel tracks with the rear axles wheel tracks for the of articulated long-haul truck assembly moving on the road curve. The solution of model eąuations of motion for the vehicle considered will allow for the definition of the relationship between the front axle and rear axle wheels steering angles and velocity of movement of the mass centre of articulated haul truck assembly for the given set of design and operating parameters. The designation of the vehicle track will be possible.

The analysis of the vehicle acceleration process is a current topic based on the aspects related to the general characteristics of the car, its parameters, design, drive unit performance, and the influence of external factors. However, the ability to accelerate is essential from the point of view of the active safety of the car. Often the dynamic parameters are determined on the basis of the car acceleration test carried out on a level road with good surface in terms of the acceleration time is not reliable and the credibility of such results depends on many factors. Therefore in the article, the authors assessed the dynamic and energy parameters of the car motion, in which the intensity of acceleration of the car with different intensities was examined. The acceleration intensity test was carried out from the set initial speed of the car of 45 km/h to the final speed of 120 km/h at a constant gear ratio, and the set intensity of the acceleration process resulted from the constant throttle with a constant deflection of the accelerator pedal. Acceleration was carried out in two variants, the first for a normal internal combustion engine and the second for the same engine but additionally equipped with a short-term boost system. In this way, it influences the increase in power and energy in the car drive system, changing its acceleration intensity. Variable car acceleration intensity was obtained in the range from 0.12 to 1.37 m/s2, and energy consumption at the level of 0.4 to 1.2 MJ in the distance of 1/4 mile. The article proposes a combination of energy parameters and engine power in order to assess the acceleration dynamics, for this purpose, the specific energy consumption of the car was determined, ranging from 0.35 to 2.0 J/(kg∙m), which was related to the engine power, denoting it with the dynamics index. The study focuses on the assessment of the relationship between the specific energy consumption and acceleration of passenger cars in the available powertrain system using a new dynamics index. The proposed dynamics index combines the energy and dynamic parameters of the car to be able to objectively quantify the acceleration process.

Authors analysed the rail dynamic models of rail vehicle and surveyed the features of the system “vehicle-track” modelling. Algorithms of creep forces calculation were examined. Four-axle freight wagon movement on the straight track and on curves corresponding to the given vertical and transversal track irregularities was modelled by software tool "Universal Mechanism". Authors examined the track stiffness influence on the vehicle moving stability/safety parameters at different speed, vehicle weight and track irregularities considering different wear rail profiles. Finally, basic conclusions and recommendations are given.
Авторы проанализировали динамические модели рельсовых экипажей и рассмотрели особенности моделирования системы «вагон-путь». Рассмотрены алгоритмы расчета сил крипа. С помощью программного пакета «Универсальный механизм» было смоделировано движение четырехосного грузового вагона по прямой трассе и по кривой с учетом вертикальных и горизонтальных неровностей рельсовых нитей. Авторы исследовали влияние жесткости железнодорожного пути на параметры стабильность/безопасность движения рельсового экипажа, движущегося с разной скоростью, с разной массой вагона и с учетом профилей рельсов различного износа. В конце сформулированы основные выводы и рекомендации.

W artykule autorzy przedstawią koncepcję wykorzystania sieci neuronowej w analizie danych uzyskanych z procesów symulacyjnych przedstawiających zjawiska fizyczne występujące w chwili przejazdu pojazdu szynowego przez tor. Głównymi parametrami na których skupiono całą uwagę są występujące siły normalne, wzdłużne i poprzeczne w obszarze kontaktowym powstającym w skutek kontaktu koła z szyną. Omówiono model matematyczny opisujący szereg zjawisk fizycznych zachodzący pomiędzy poszczególnymi podzespołami wchodzącymi w skład pojazdu szynowego. W dalszym ciągu artykułu po przedawnieniu własnej koncepcji sieci neuronowej i wyjaśnieniu jej funkcjonowania omówiono algorytm, który odpowiedzialny jest za eliminowanie wartości sił odbiegających znacząco od ustalonych wartości. Wyniki z badań symulacyjnych zaprezentowano w dwóch grupach, pierwsza odnosi się do wykresów uzyskanych w trakcie przeprowadzenia badań z wykorzystaniem oprogramowania Uniwersal Mechanism, w drugiej części przedawniono wyniki z danych otrzymanych w pierwszym etapie testów przez sieć neuronową, Na zakończenie artykułu umieszczono wnioski wynikające z zaprezentowanych w artykule badań.
In the article, the authors present the concept of using neural network in analysis of data obtained from simulation processes presenting physical phenomena occurring at the moment of passing a rail vehicle through the track. The main parameters in which attention is drawn are the normal, longitudinal, transverse and vertical forces in the contact area resulting from the contact of the wheel with the rail. After a brief introduction, a mathematical model describing a number of physical phenomena occurring between the various components of the rail vehicle is discussed. In the article, after aging of the neural network's own concept and explanation of its functioning, an algorithm has been described, which is responsible for elimination of values of forces deviating significantly from optimal values. Results from simulation studies are presented in two groups. The first one refers to the graphs obtained during the study using the Uniwersal Mechanism software. In the second part the results of the data obtained in the first stage of the test were passed through the neural network. research article.

W artykule omówiono wyniki badań polegających na pomiarze opóźnienia i przyspieszenia autobusów i trolejbusów. Badania przeprowadzono w warunkach tzw. ruchu swobodnego, podczas wykonywania przez te pojazdy zadań transportowych w komunikacji miejskiej. Wyniki badań pozwalają na określenie wartości parametrów przyspieszenia i opóźnienia względem osi wzdłużnej pojazdów, dla manewrów wykonywanych w sposób „swobodny” i nie gwałtowny – tj. w okolicznościach, w których nie występowało zagrożenie w ruchu drogowym ze strony innych uczestników ruchu, a technika kierowania i przyjęta taktyka jazdy kierowcy odpowiadała zapewnieniu pasażerom warunków komfortu dynamicznego.
The article discusses the results of tests that rely on measuring the delay and acceleration of buses and trolleybuses. The study was conducted in conditions of free movement during realizing that these vehicles their transport tasks. The test results are used to determine the parameters acceleration and deceleration relative to longitudinal axis of the vehicle for maneuvers which were not violent,-in circumstances where was no traffic hazard from other road users, and tactics of driving responsible ensuring passengers dynamic comfort conditions.

W artykule opisano typowe problemy związane z pomiarami dynamiki ruchu pojazdów kołowych. Wskazano na brak powtarzalności kolejnych prób i niedokładności w wymuszeniu kołem kierownicy realizowane przez kierowców testowych. Różnice w osiąganych wynikach przez różnych kierowców pokazano na przykładowych, zarejestrowanych próbach.
Typical problems concerned with dynamic measurement of wheeled vehicles are presented in the article. All results come from expertise of Military Institute of Armour and Automotive Technology. They were collected during testing the wheeled vehicles. Poor repeatability and uncertainty of driver function is disclosed during tests. As an example, it is shown the difference between results of two test drivers, testing armoured wheeled vehicles, KTO Rosomak. The drivers performed similar test of double line change, in similar conditions and with the same speed. As a result of their various way of steering, the acceleration difference and roll angle difference of the vehicle were over 30%. To prevent in future problems coming from the differences, the Military Institute of Armour and Automotive Technology has started procedure of using special robot system (SR60 ABD Dynamic), which is able to control vehicles, without any driver help. It allows the steering vehicle with high precision, up to several centimeters.

This paper analyses the use of exact offline optimization methods for benchmarking online taxi dispatching strategies where the objective is to minimize the total passenger waiting time. First, a general framework for simulating dynamic transport services in MATSim (Multi-Agent Transport Simulation) is described. Next, the model of online taxi dispatching is defined, followed by a formulation of the offline problem as a mixed integer programming problem. Three benchmarks based on the offline problem are presented and compared to two simple heuristic strategies and a hypothetical simulation with teleportation of idle taxis. The benchmarks are evaluated and compared using the simulation scenario of taxi services in the city of Mielec. The obtained (approximate) lower and upper bounds for the minimum total passenger waiting time indicate directions for further research.

In the recent times, lot of research work carried out in the field of fuel cells explicitly divulges that it has the potential to be an ultimate power source in upcoming years. The fuel cell has more storing capacity, which enables to use in heavy power applications. In these applications, power conditioning is more vital to regulate the output voltage. Hence, we need a dc-dc converter to provide a constant regulated output voltage for such high-power system. Currently, many new converters were designed and implemented as per the requirement. This paper has made comparative study on several topologies of the quadratic high gain dc-dc converter and the applications where these topologies can be used when the fuel cell is given as a source. Also, we have compared various parameters of all the converters considered and generated the results with steady-state and dynamic study. In this article, we briefed the types of analysis carried on the dc-dc converter to study its performance. Moreover, various application of fuel cell is presented and discussed. This paper will be a handbook to the researchers who start to work on high gain dc-dc converter topologies with quadratic boost converter as a base. This article will also guide the engineers to concentrate on the fuel cell components where it needs to be explored for optimizing its operation.

In this paper the mathematical model of combat vehicle as well as mathematical models of input function generated by the cannon during firing and terrain unevenness was presented. This model enables the analysis of dynamic loads of the equipment mounted inside combat vehicle as well as analysis of dynamic loads of the crew. Parameters of the impulse forces acting on the vehicle during firing were determined on the theoretical basics of internal ballistic of cannon. The results of calculation were presented for hypothetical basic combat vehicle with a 125 mm and 73 mm calibre smoothbore gun. Firing during short stops and during combat vehicle motion at different speeds on terrain unevenness as well as angle of elevation of the gun barrel and rotation angle of the turret on the level of dynamic load were considered. A part of this paper was presented at the RTO AVT Symposium on "Functional and Mechanical Integration of Weapons and Land and Air Vehicles".

The main aim of this study is to carry out dynamic simulations of structural response of reinforced concrete bridge loaded with a moving heavy vehicle. Computational dynamics analysis was conducted using LS-DYNA computer code. The selected bridge was a reinforced-concrete structure located on the U.S. 90 in Northwest Florida. The bridge has six prestressed AASHTO type III beams and concrete deck. An 8-axle vehicle including a tractor unit and a low bed trailer were selected as a representative for the study. FE model of the tractor based on previous studies; however, a FE model of the trailer was developed for the present work. Analyses included passages of a vehicle with 47 tonnes cargo. A cargo resting on a trailer was taken into account by changing the material density of selected components in the semi-trailer FE model. Time histories of the bridge deflections in the middle of the span were recorded during the simulation tests. Simulations were performed for the vehicle velocity between 20 and 50 mph, stepped by 5 mph. An influence of the velocity on the bridge deflection was determined. The main objective of the simulation tests on the selected bridge was to assess the actual dynamic load allowance (DLA), also known as impact factor, based on the maximum deflection of the bridge span as a function of the vehicle velocity.

This paper descript software for vehicle simulation and mathematical models that describe the motion of the vehicle. A dynamic simulation model of vehicle was developed using Matlab/Simulink and SimDriveline toolbox. The model has a configurable structure that is suitable to simulation with multiple levels. The powertrain system model developed using Simulink and SimDrivline could also be used as a generic, modular and flexible vehicle modeling platform to support the integration of powertrain design and control system optimization.

Since the beginning of the 90’s, a scientific team in the Motor Vehicle and Transport Institute of the Mechanical Department in the Military University of Technology, has been involved in the model and experimental tests of the existing structures of the military vehicles (tanks, combat infantry vehicles and wheeled armoured carriers) in the aspect of their modernization. A part of works is related to the military vehicles included in the army’s equipment and the other parts are related to newly designed vehicles. In both cases issues related to the behaviour of selected assemblies and the whole vehicle, structure during threats posed by the reality of contemporary battlefield or armed symmetric or asymmetric conflicts are analysed. Selected effects of the tests and analyses will be presented mostly within the qualitative scope due to the data sensitivity. Contemporary design of military vehicles requires involvement of various research methods and specialized calculation software. The results obtained during performed various experimental tests make a valuable basis for verification of numerical models used in design process and multi-option simulation calculations.

This article deals with the development and proposal to increase the application of equipment for measuring the adhesion force between the road and the road vehicle. The device enabling the adhesion force measurement of a rotating vehicle wheel is called a dynamic adhesor. The actual position of the vehicle wheel relative to the road-simulating cylinder is, in the present embodiment of the dynamic adhesor, by means of a bolted clamping joint and stops. This embodiment has limiting applications. the test must be aborted, if the position of the vehicle wheel relative to the rotating cylinder changes. Therefore, the adhesor has been upgraded. The upgrade consists of adding a hydraulic control to allow repositioning of the vehicle wheel online without interrupting the experiment, from a workstation outside the rotating parts area. Input load values were determined from the adherent desired operating parameters and from the load simulation in the MSC Adams software. Hydraulic cylinders were designed in accordance with the results of the maximum operating loads and installation space. The current construction was adapted and supplemented with new parts for the use of these hydraulic cylinders. The article only deals with the area of new key elements. The equipment's use has been expanded by improving the dynamic adhesor, for example, with the possibility of simulating the vehicle wheel's driving behaviour when the vehicle is propped up, and in this way, the equipment can also be used for any required research in regard to noise emitted from the tyre's road contact. As a result of innovation, the use of the unique tyre-testing equipment has been expanded, increasing the safety and environmental friendliness of road vehicles.

Opis:
In this work, the authors focused on analyzing the energy efficiency and dynamics during car acceleration, featuring investigation of acceleration dynamics under various acceleration intensities. The tests were performed in the speed range between 45 km/h and 120 km/h, at a constant gear ratio. This enabled obtaining variable dynamic parameters of the acceleration process, ranging from about 0.1 to 1.4 m/s2, and recording variation in fuel consumption from 6.28 to 27.03 dm3/100km. The study focused on determining the relation between fuel consumption, energy efficiency and vehicle acceleration depending on the available drivetrain power. The relation between fuel consumption and vehicle acceleration was described by using the dynamic index. The proposed dynamic index takes into account the energy (from burned fuel) and vehicle acceleration intensity to obtain an objective metric for characterizing the acceleration process. The aforementioned index takes the form of the passenger car movement energy quality index and can be related to widely known physical properties, thus ensuring its universality. The index expresses the energy expenditure within the time needed to accelerate a vehicle weighing 1kg by a 1m distance. As opposed to other criteria that are applied to the assessment of passenger cars dynamics, the index shows a high determination coefficient R2 in excess of 0.99, and can be used as a universal metric to test other vehicle types.
