Opis:
The paper presents the analysis of signal induced by sensors during spinning of farm tractor drive wheels. The test was aimed to specify minimum speed at which the signal may be fully used to control velocity of wheels, and thus work as an output signal for operation of the limit skid control system for farm tractor drive wheels.

It is worth looking at chronic illness with its pain, suffering and increasing limitations from the perspective of time. By time we mean subjective time relating to the perception and dynamics of the malady in the patient’s impressions and the role which time plays in the structuring of the patient’s life and experience. The main focus of this article is the experience of progressive kidney failure (uraemia), a condition which requires regular dialysis or kidney transplantation. Due to its specific crises, hopes and periods of waiting, painstaking medical procedures lasting many hours and turning points in the disease’s trajectory, time and its passage are a particularly adequate instrument with which to analyse the experiences of patients with uraemia. These experiences are discussed against the backdrop of selected elements of health care and attitudes towards transplantation which provide the social context for patients’ struggle with illness.

The paper adresses optimal control problem of mobile manipulators. Dynamic equations of those mechanisms are assuemd herein to be uncertain. Moreover, unbounded disturbances act on the mobile manipulator whose end-effector tracks a desired (reference) trajectory given in a task (Certesian) space. A compytionally efficient class of two-stage cascaded (hierarchchical) control algotithms based on both the transpose Jacobian matrix and transpose actuation matrix, has been proposed. The offered control laws involve to kinds of non-singular terminal sliding mode (TSM) manifolds, which were also introduced in the paper. The proposed class of cooperating sub-controllers is shown to be finite time stable be fulfilment of practically reasonable assumptions. The performance of the proposed control strategies is illustated on an exemplary mobile manipulator whose end-effector tracks desired trajectory.

Many real-time systems can be described as cascade space-state models of different orders. In this paper, a new predefined controller is designed using a Strongly Predefined Time Sliding Mode Control (SPSMC) scheme for a cascade high-order nonlinear system. The proposed control scheme based-on SMC methodology is designed such that the system states reach zero within a determined time prior to performing numerical simulation. Moreover, Fixed Time Sliding Mode Control (FSMC) and Terminal Sliding Mode Control (TSMC) schemes are presented and simulated to provide a comparison with the proposed predefined time scheme. The numerical simulation is performed in Simulink/MATLAB for the proposed SPSMC and the other two existing methods on two examples: second and of third order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed SPSMC method. The trajectory tracking of the ship course system is addressed a san example of a second-order system. Synchronization of two chaotic systems, Genesio Tesi and Coullet, is considered as an example of a third-order system. Also, by using two performance criteria, a thorough comparison is made between the proposed predefined time scheme, SPSMC, and the two no predefined time schemes, FSMC and TSMC.

Nowadays, with growing use of location-aware, wirelessly connected, mobile devices, we can easily capture trajectories of mobile objects. To exploit these raw trajectories, we need to enhance them with semantic information. Several research fields are currently focusing on semantic trajectories to support inferences and queries to help users validate and discover more knowledge about mobile objects. The inference mechanism is needed for queries on semantic trajectories connected to other sources of information. Time and space knowledge are fundamental sources of information used by the inference operation on semantic trajectories. This article discusses new approach for inference mechanisms on semantic trajectories. The proposed solution is based on an ontological approach for modelling semantic trajectories integrating time concepts and rules. We present a case study with experiments, optimization and evaluation to show the complexity of inference and queries. Then, we introduce a refinement algorithm based on temporal neighbour to enhance temporal inference. The results show the positive impact of our propos al on reducing the complexity of the inference mechanism.

A method of optimization intended to speed up motions of non-redundant hydraulic manipulators along prescribed paths of their end-effectors is presented. A parametric path of the end-effector of a non-redundant manipulator determines the corresponding path in the manipulator joint-space. The optimization problem therefore reduces to finding the optimum distribution of the parameter of the path in time. The proposed optimization scheme is based on discretization of the distribution of the parameter into a fixed number of points, and finding their optimum locations by methods of constrained nonlinear programming. Incompressibility of the hydraulic fluid is assumed throughout for greater effectiveness of the procedure. Results of sample optimizations performed on a three-link hydraulic excavator are presented.

Optymalizacja sprowadza się wówczas do znalezienia optymalnego rozkładu parametru ścieżki w czasie. Proponowana metoda optymalizacji polega na przybliżeniu ciągłego rozkładu parametru zbiorem punktów, a następnie znalezieniu ich optymalnych położeń metodami programowania nieliniowego z ograniczeniami. Opis:
Avariety of approaches for trajectory tracking control of wheeled mobile robots have been implemented. This paper presents a model for a time optimal motion control based on fuzzy logic algorithm for a three wheeled nonholonomic mobile robot with desired function. Simplified kinematic equations of a differentially driven robot are designed to follow the path with evaluated linear and angular velocities. Here, the proposed kinematic model is based on a simple geometric approach for getting the desired position and orientation. The speeds are varied depending on the variations in the path and on the posture of the robot. The robot is subjected to move in a constrained workspace. The control architecture was developed based on fuzzy logic algorithm to obtain time optimal motion control of robot trajectory tracking. The kinematic model was done on Matlab software environment and profound impact on the ability of the nonholonomic mobile robot to track the path was evaluated.

The work covers the adequate kinetics of the flexibly fixed working element of a rotating device. First the literature background of the problem has been presented, turning the attention on such systems where the phenomenon of centrifugal displacement of a body due to the rotating of the system occurs. Then the general characteristics of the complex motion of working element has been described. The core of the work is the description of the variable component motions, with the starting point of the description being the source differential equation, presenting this type of dependence of the path length on time. The accelerated angular motion and retarded radial motion have been separated, describing these component motions as the function of time. Based on these detailed descriptions, the trajectory equation of working element, the derivatives and further kinetic magnitudes, have been derived. In the conclusion, the cognitive and practical qualities of the presented solutions of the title problem, have been accented.

An adaptive neural network (NN) event-triggered trajectory tracking control scheme based on finite time convergence is proposed to address the problem of trajectory tracking control of underdriven surface ships. In this scheme, both NNs and minimum learning parameters (MLPS) are applied. The internal and external uncertainties are approximated by NNs. To reduce the computational complexity, MLPs are used in the proposed controller. An event-triggered technique is then incorporated into the control design to synthesise an adaptive NN-based event-triggered controller with finite-time convergence. Lyapunov theory is applied to prove that all signals are bounded in the tracking system of underactuated vessels, and to show that Zeno behavior can be avoided. The validity of this control scheme is determined based on simulation results, and comparisons with some alternative schemes are presented.

Dynamics of a ship in the process of a course change manoeuvre depends on the current rudder angle, the ship’s speed and loading condition. A method of calculating a family of characteristics, presenting the manoeuvre time as a function of the course change for different values of the rudder angle and the ship’s speed, for different types of vessels is presented in this paper. Dynamic properties of a ship are calculated using the MATLAB software. Based upon the turning circle calculation, a value of the steady turning radius in obtained. Then, the angular velocity of the ship is calculated and characteristics of the manoeuvre time as a function of the course change are determined. After that, a method of taking into account the manoeuvre time in the ship’s safe trajectory determination algorithm is presented and its successful application is proved by results of simulation tests. A heuristic Ant Colony Optimization based algorithm and a deterministic Trajectory Base algorithm were used for the dynamic properties application and evaluation tests, but the method can easily be applied in other algorithms utilizing different optimization methods.

Opis:
This study presents a new, reference trajectory based sliding mode control strategy for disturbed discrete time dynamical systems. The desired trajectory, which is generated externally according to an existing switching type reaching law, determines the properties of the emerging sliding motion of the system. It is proved that an appropriate choice of the trajectory generator parameters ensures the existence of the quasi-sliding motion of the system according to the definition by Gao et al. (1995) in spite of the influence of disturbances. Moreover, the paper shows that the application of the desired trajectory based reaching law results in a significant reduction in the quasi-sliding mode band width and errors of all state variables. Therefore, in comparison with Gao’s control method, the system’s robustness is increased. The paper also presents an additional modification of the reaching law, which guarantees a further reduction in the quasi-sliding mode band in the case of slowly varying disturbances. The results are confirmed with a simulation example.

This work deals with the problem of the accurate task space trajectory tracking subject to finite-time convergence. Kinematic and dynamic equations of a redundant manipulator are assumed to be uncertain. Moreover, globally unbounded disturbances are allowed to act on the manipulator when tracking the trajectory by the end-effector. Furthermore, the movement is to be accomplished in such a way as to reduce both the manipulator torques and their oscillations thus eliminating the potential robot vibrations. Based on suitably defined task space non-singular terminal sliding vector variable and the Lyapunov stability theory, we propose a class of chattering-free robust controllers, based on the estimation of transpose Jacobian, which seem to be effective in counteracting both uncertain kinematics and dynamics, unbounded disturbances and (possible) kinematic and/or algorithmic singularities met on the robot trajectory. The numerical simulations carried out for a redundant manipulator of a SCARA type consisting of the three revolute kinematic pairs and operating in a two-dimensional task space, illustrate performance of the proposed controllers as well as comparisons with other well known control schemes.

Opis:
In industrial control systems, practical interest is driven by the fact that today’s processes need to be operated under tighter performance specifications. Often these demands can only be met when process nonlinearities are explicitly considered in the controller. Nonlinear predictive control, the extension of well-established linear predictive control to nonlinear systems, appears to be a well-suited approach for this kind of problems. In this paper, an optimal nonlinear predictive control structure, which provides asymptotic tracking of smooth reference trajectories, is presented. The controller is based on a finite–horizon continuous time minimization of nonlinear predicted tracking errors. A key feature of the control law is that its implementation does not need to perform on-line optimization, and asymptotic tracking of smooth reference signal is guaranteed. An integral action is used to increase the robustness of the closed-loop system with respect to uncertainties and parameters variations. The proposed control scheme is first applied to planning motions problem of a mobile robot and, afterwards, to the trajectory tracking problem of a rigid link manipulator. Simulation results are performed to validate the tracking performance of the proposed controller.

The maritime shipping industry has been making significant contributions to the development of the regional and global economy. However, maritime accidents and their severe consequences have been posing an incrementing risk to the individuals and societies. It is therefore important to conduct risk analysis on such accidents to support maritime safety management. In this paper, a modified ship collision candidate detection method is proposed as a tool for collision risk analysis in ports and waterways. Time-Discrete Velocity Obstacle algorithm (TD-NLVO) is utilized to detect collision candidates based on the encounter process extracted from AIS data. Ship domain model was further integrated into the algorithm as the criteria for determination. A case study is conducted to illustrate the efficacy of the improved model, and a comparison between the existing method and actual ship trajectories are also performed. The results indicate that with the integration of ship domain, the new method can effectively detect the encounters with significant collision avoidance behaviours. The choice of criteria can have a significant influence on the results of collision candidate detection.
