In Polish historiography, activities of promotors of tourism development in the city of Konin never attracted attention from regional historians or physical culture historians. More recently, however, there is a growing interest in this subject, e.g. a popular study discussing the 100-year tourist traditions in Konin has just been published. What is still missing are biographical studies of major promotors of tourism in Konin, and their particular contributions to the development of tourism in the interwar period and after World War II. The study presents short biographies of leading tourism activists from the industrial city of Konin, who were associated with various forms of tourism. The materials used in the study come from primary sources stored in the Konin National Archives, from magazine articles, memoirs, and various reports. The author included information from private collections or private chronicles, including personal correspondence and press clippings, in particular, materials written and collected by Andrzej Józef Miller.

Opis:
Touring and regional trips were among important educational issues in the Second Republic of Poland, conducive to getting to know the immediate environment, regions and the country in general, underpinned by national, patriotic and civic upbringing. In the first decade of the Interwar Period, Poland had three models of school sightseeing clubs developed in Krakow in 1927, in Vilnius in 1928 and in Poznań in 1929. These events provided an opportunity to meet young people from various regions in Poland. Tutors of sightseeing circles; regional, school and church authorities; authorities of sightseeing initiatives launched by adults and the youth, university professors and representatives of urban elites were all participants of the movement. In addition to lectures and speeches, latest issues of the school sightseeing movement were discussed and experiences were shared. As a result, the students and the tutors got to know each other, established contacts and discussed the directions to be followed by school sightseeing clubs. The conventions were accompanied by trips and various forms of presenting the clubs’ achievements including exhibitions, school theatres, singing, dancing, evening performances and others.

Autorka artykułu, będąca mieszkanką Poznania, a jednocześnie zaawansowanym graczem geocachingu, podjęła próbę prezentacji powiatu poznańskiego jako obszaru, który posiada potencjał do rozwoju tej gry. Świadczą o tym tworzone w ostatnich latach trasy, jak również działania regionalnej organizacji – GEOpyry oraz nastawienie mieszkańców. Do przygotowania opracowania wykorzystano analizę literatury, źródeł internetowych związanych z geocachingiem oraz wyniki badań własnych zrealizowanych na potrzeby pracy magisterskiej za pośrednictwem kwestionariusza ankiety na próbie 355 mieszkańców powiatu poznańskiego, w okresie od października 2016 r. do marca 2017 r. 
Currently, many Polish towns, through various organizational structures, use geocaching to promote local tourist values. This paper presents case studies of large cities, rural areas as well as valuable natural areas. The author of this article, as a resident of Poznan and an advanced geocaching player, has attempted to present the Poznań province as an area that has the potential to develop such field games. This is evidenced both by the routes created in recent years as well as by the regional organization – GEOpyra and the attitude of the inhabitants. Literature analysis, Internet sources related to geocaching and the results of our own research (conducted through a questionnaire survey on a sample of 355 inhabitants of the Poznań province from October 2016 to March 2017) were used to prepare the study.

The subject of this work is to identify and juxtapose solutions implemented in transport provided by water trams for the following cities: Gdansk, Bydgoszcz and Krakow. As a result of the conducted analysis of transport factors, the degree of conformity of project objectives to the actual role of the water tram has been determined. It was found that the Krakow Water Tram (also known as Cracow Water Tram) is characterized by the greatest degree of conformity with project objectives. The solutions adopted in the project can be used to develop organizational and functional standards for this type of transport in Poland, since the lack of system solutions and little experience in implementation of water trams resulted in different organizational and technical approaches in their functioning.

W artykule przedstawiono działalność turystyczną w środowisku i na rzecz środowiska osób niepełnosprawnych prowadzoną przez Polskie Towarzystwo Turystyczno-Krajoznawcze (PTTK). W pierwszej części przytoczono definicje niepełnosprawności, opisano jej rodzaje. Drugą część poświęcono omówieniu konkretnych działań PTTK w środowisku osób niepełnosprawnych. Pokazany został rozwój struktur organizacyjnych Towarzystwa dotyczących tego środowiska. Następnie scharakteryzowano rodzaje turystyki organizowane przez PTTK i udział w nich osób niepełnosprawnych.
The author investigates tourist activities in an environment of disabled people led by Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society – Polskie Towarzystwo Turystyczno-Krajoznawcze (PTTK). He defines disability and characterizes different forms of it. The first part of the work contains description of PTTK activities in the milieu of disable people. It shows development of structure of the Society to be better accommodated to the needs of disabled. The following part of the article contains an analysis of different forms of tourism proposed by PTTK and participation of disable peoples in offers directed to them.

The paper presents issues referring to school sightseeing trips and tourism. The author broadly describes the image of a teacher whose task is to show the beauty of the country to his/her students (native country teacher), the way the teacher is perceived by students and the ideal characteristics in the young people’s opinion. The ideal image is based on the survey carried out among students. The paper also discusses the problems of a personality of native country teachers, as well as their education, training, and professional development. The paper attempts to answer the following questions: To what extent does the model of a native country teacher, especially as a guide of school trips and walking tours postulated by literature and youth adhere to reality? How many teachers are actually prepared, engaged, and willing to conduct didactic and educational classes outside the classroom in the field of sightseeing and tourism? Where do the teachers corresponding with the presented personality traits of the model guide of school trips and walking tours come from? Objazdy i piesze wędrówki były bardzo popularne w środowisku młodzieży galicyjskiej pod koniec XIX i na początku XX w. Ich inicjatorami byli sami gimnazjaliści i studenci pragnący zdobyć doświadczenie, wiedzę i przyjemnie spędzić czas. Przedsięwzięcia te zyskały wsparcie administracji szkolnej oraz kierownictwa poszczególnych szkół średnich i uczelni wyższych, nabierając edukacyjnego i naukowego wymiaru. Czas tych podróży była różny, od jednego do kilku dni czy tygodni. Wycieczki odbywały się pieszo, czasami koleją, końmi lub jako spływ rzeką. Trasy podróży obejmowały tereny Galicji, zwłaszcza szlaki górskie w Karpatach, terytorium imperium Habsburgów, kraje Europy Południowej, Północnej i Zachodniej. W trakcie podróży ich uczestnicy mogli zapoznać się z geografią, historią, gospodarką, obyczajami i tradycjami swojego i sąsiedniego regionu.
Tours and hiking trips were very popular among Galician youth at the end of the 19th century. They were initiated by junior high schools students and university students themselves who wanted to gain experience, knowledge and to spend time in a pleasant way. Such enterprises were supported by the school administration and management of particular secondary school and institutions of higher education, thus acquiring educational and scientifc dimension. The length of such trips varied from several days to several weeks. Trips, on foot, sometimes by train, by horse and cart or by means of rafting, included the territory of Galicia, especially mountain trail in the Carpathian Mountains, the territory of the Habsburg Empire, the countries in southern, northern and western Europe. During the travels, the participants could become familiar with geography, history, economy, morals and the traditions of their own and the neighbouring region.

Analiza tekstów stała się punktem wyjścia do nakreślenia sposobu postrzegania ludności Polesia przez młodzież i skłoniła do refleksji nad zależnościami edukacji i wychowania od polityki kresowej kreowanej przez państwo.
The article attempts to present the publications issued by the Students’ Sightseeing Club of the Marshal Józef Piłsudski State Middle School in Pinsk in the second half of the 1930s against the backdrop of sightseeing and regional activities. The analysis of the texts became the starting point for outlining the perception of the Polesie population by young people and led to reflection on the dependence of education and upbringing on the borderland policy created by the state.

Wprowadzenie: Na początku XX wieku w Królestwie Polskim rozwijała się idea krajoznawstwa jako ruch społeczny i przedmiot naukowych rozważań. Miała ona szczególne znaczenie ze względu na warunki społeczno-polityczne ziem polskich. Była próbą przeciwstawienia się rusyfikacji poprzez działania służące zachowaniu dziedzictwa i tradycji mających sprzyjać budowaniu i utrzymywaniu tożsamości narodowej. Cel badań: Celem artykułu jest ukazanie idei krajoznawstwa i roli ruchu krajoznawczego jako narzędzia kształtowania tożsamości narodowej adolescentów w Królestwie Polskim na początku XX wieku. Stan wiedzy: W dotychczasowych opracowaniach dotyczących historycznych aspektów ruchu krajoznawczego skoncentrowano się głównie na ewolucji idei, jej początkach, przykładach praktycznej realizacji działań oraz przedstawicielach ruchu krajoznawczego. Choć w niektórych tekstach omawiano problematykę krajoznawstwa jako narzędzia edukacyjnego, to brakowało pogłębionych analiz uwzględniających wpływ idei krajoznawczej na kształtowanie tożsamości narodowej adolescentów. Podsumowanie: W działaniach krajoznawczych upatrywano nadzieję na kształtowanie postaw patriotycznych i obywatelskich. Formy działań krajoznawczych na początku XX wieku służyły edukacji patriotycznej. Mimo deklaracji o demokratycznym charakterze ruchu krajoznawczego, pozostawał on ruchem ekskluzyjnym szczególnie dla osób ze środowisk nieelitarnych i mniejszości narodowych.
Introduction: At the beginning of the 20th century, the idea of sightseeing as a social movement and a field of study was developing in the Kingdom of Poland. It had a special significance due to the socio-political conditions of the Polish lands. It was an attempt to oppose the russification activities, through activities aimed at preserving heritage and traditions to build and maintain national identity. Research Aim: The aim of the article is to show the idea of sightseeing and the role of the sightseeing movement as a tool for shaping the national identity of adolescents in the Kingdom of Poland at the beginning of the 20th century. Evidence-based Facts: Previous studies on the historical aspects of the sightseeing movement have mainly focused on the evolution of the idea, its origins, examples of practical implementation of activities and representatives of the sightseeing movement. Although some texts have discussed the issue of sightseeing as an educational tool, there has been a lack of in-depth analyses considering the impact of the idea of sightseeing on the shaping of the national identity of adolescents. Summary: The sightseeing activities were seen as a hope for shaping patriotic and civic attitudes. Forms of sightseeing activities at the beginning of the 20th century were regarded as a form of patriotic education. Despite the declarations about the democratic character of the sightseeing movement, it remained an exclusive movement especially for people from non-elite backgrounds and national minority.

The aim of this paper is to characterize the graphical interface and functionality of virtual tour applications. The indirect aim is to provide initial technical assessment of selected virtual tours avaialable on Polish websites. In addition, the article presents the importance of the terms related to multimedia presentation of online tourist content. References have been made to concepts such as geoinformation society, geoinformation, geospatial data, interactive panoramas and tourism space. In the research, descriptive and comparative methods were used. The initial technical assessment was made by means of the Web Page Analyzer – 0.98 (http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze) from Website Optimization. Results Research into the interface, the functionality and technical assessment revealed that the selected virtual tour applications available online are very diverse. The differences exist both on the quantitative and the qualitative levels. The results have led to a conclusion that the Internet infrastructure, with special emphasis placed on the geo-information infrastructure, allows to develop and transfer tourist activity to the virtual world. The progressive functionality and ergonomics of the interfaces enable multimedia presentations in the form of virtual tours, including use of 360º panoramas, to reach an increasingly wide audience with diverse interests.

In the times of the omnipresent globalization, an important place in the education of children and adolescents takes the regional education and the associated with it deepening of the regional identity. The content related to this subject is woven into the issues of different subjects: history, Polish language, geography and civics. Currently available forms and methods of education are offering the teacher conducting classes, many opportunities to prepare the best workshop to achieve his or her goals in this area. One of them is the cooperation with external institutions dealing with regionalism. The curriculum activities of the Pedestrian Tourist Club “Mikołajek” PTTK (Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society) Słupsk in cooperation with Słupsk schools is an excellent example of this. Years of experience, the regional knowledge and qualifications possessed by the staff of the Club provide a solid foundation that can be used and is used in the regional education of children and adolescents, thus implementing the main objectives of “Mikołajek”.

Na tym przykładzie oparto tezę, że metoda projektu geograficzno-krajoznawczego inspiruje i aktywizuje uczniów do zdobywania wiedzy poprzez entuzjazm i pasję poznania. To powoduje, że uczeń podejmuje rolę odkrywcy, a podczas wycieczki, jako geograf i przewodnik, dzieli się wiedzą i objaśnia walory i atrakcje turystyczne. Projekt poszerza i pogłębia wiedzę z zakresu geografii regionalnej oraz historii Polski. Jego realizację przewidziano w klasie siódmej szkoły podstawowej, podczas zajęć pozalekcyjnych w ramach pracy w szkolnym kole geograficznym lub klubie krajoznawczo-turystycznym.
The article presents project of the geographical-sightseeing tour, that connects geographical education with sightseeing (knowledge of one’s country). On this example the thesis was verified, that geographical-sightseeing project methodology inspires and activities students to acquire knowledge through enthusiasm and passion of learning. This encourages students to take on the role of explorer, and during the tour to share their knowledge as well as to explain tourist values and attractions as a geographist and a tour guide. Project expands and improves knowledge in the range of regional geography and history of Poland. Its implementation was envisaged in the 7th grade of primary school during extracurricular activities such as geography club or sightseeing-tourism club.

Opis:
The purpose of this paper is to present the conclusions from analyzing the content of the selected sightseeing periodicals issued in Polish in the Second Republic of Poland, focusing the research on: “Orli Lot”, “Ziemia”. When choosing the particular titles, not only the subject and language category were decisive, but also durability of particular tittles and their addressees. Therefore, we paid attention to periodicals published regularly and targeted to various reader groups, e.g. to adolescents. The research used methods proper to press studies and also was supported by geocriticism tools in order to reconstruct educational ideas propagated in the aforementioned periodicals. The ideas were supposed to, including but not limited to, create permanent system of moral concepts for the Poles, constituting grounds of the “new” citizen construct.
