Opis:
The paper presents the experimental results from a complex study of the fuel consumption of a hybrid car Toyota Yaris. Original data for motion at different constant speeds are obtained. The economical and energy characteristics of the car are observed and analyzed. Three typical urban and three inter-city routes are investigated. A significant decrease in the fuel consumption of the hybrid car is witnessed when it runs in urban conditions at “Eco Mode”. The motion on inter-city route, including short town passages and highway parts, is also investigated. The obtained original data are higher than the fuel consumption given by the producer and, practically, equal to the ones of the conventional gasoline car. The study indicates that the effect of a hybrid system is significant in urban conditions and is more evident at “Eco Mode”.

Opis:
Due to limited resources of fossil fuels and overproduction of greenhouse gases, a need for alternative means for vehicle communication appeared. Because of that hybrid electric vehicles, as well as battery electric vehicles, were proposed to replace some of conventional vehicles based on internal combustion engine [3]. To their advantages over conventional cars belong environmental friendliness and better performance (in case of hybrid electric vehicles), but they also suffer from greater purchase costs and limited range (in case of most battery electric vehicles) [4, 6]. Presented work briefly characterizes four types of vehicles equipped with electric motor (mild hybrid, full hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicles) along with generalised presentation of their battery requirements [4, 6]. Further in this work, the lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery working principle was explained, along with characterisation of its limitations due to its design and requirements for inactive components e.g. 4-fold drop in specific capacity and energy density while moving from pure electrode material level to battery level [20]. Next, present Li-ion active components, such as LiCoO2, LiMnO2 and LiFePO4 cathodes and graphite anode along with their capacities and energy densities as well as other characteristic regarding (e.g. environmental friendliness, safety and cost) are shown. Moreover electrode materials e.g. nanocomposite anodes and cathodes, multi-electron cathodes (e.g. Li2MnSiO4), as well as Li-metal and Li4Ti5O12 anodes, with their advantages and disadvantages were described [15, 20]. Presented article was summarized by gathered opinions of battery electric vehicles users, who share their experience regarding their electric cars in a survey. One can tell that they are fairly satisfied with their purchase and that improvement in range of battery electric vehicles along with predictable government policy regarding electrification of cars are the most important factors when considering purchase of electric vehicle [36].

Opis:
The paper analyzes three different, but similar class cars, two of them with conventional spark ignition (SI) engines, and one – hybrid (SI + electricity). Statistics of fuel consumption and mileage of several years are presented and analyzed, fuel price changes and provided exploitation costs. The analysis shows that in countries where are no privileges for the acquisition of hybrid cars or for operation (less parking or tolls, insurance or technical inspection price), the payback is hardly possible, because the hybrid car’s price is about 2 times higher than that of a normal car, and fuel costs are reduced merely by about 20%. The results of the analysis show that payback of the hybrid car (at current fuel prices), in the best case possible after 0,73 million kilometers. Within annual mileage an average of 25 thousands km, the hybrid car will payback after 30 years!

Opis:
This article presents theoretical studies of methods for assessing car quality indicators in the operation stage. Important criteria for determining the quality indicators of cars during the operation phase are the following: functional stability, ecology, comfort, technical solutions, and traffic safety. The problem of converting a multicriteria quality assessment to a single criterion is proposed to be solved by the method of determining a quality index. The methodology for the practical and actual implementation of this research is based on the evaluation of the quality index established on the average vehicle speed then the basic methodological principles are formulated. The quality index of a car is significantly dependent on the operating conditions. This article presents the correction coefficients for the quality index of base, hybrid, and electric vehicles, depending on the operating conditions. The studies and the proposed car quality index provide timely information on the characteristics of operating conditions, creating the necessary conditions and opportunities for automakers to improve the design of cars, promote the image of car brands, and increase sales.

In the last couple of months Poland struggled with air pollution. This problem brought back discussion about new ways to decrease emission of lethal gasses to atmosphere. One of the ways featured by car manufacturers is to propagate hybrid and electric cars as the way of urban transportation. The article contains main features of hybrid cars, influence on the quality of air, and measures needed to utilize hybrid car.

During our research, we focus on a less researched area in the development of autonomous vehicles. Automotive industry is turning more and more from conventional, internal combustion engine equipped vehicles to the electric cars. Today, electric driving is mostly limited to urban traffic, this is the area where range and refueling limits can be a real alternative. However, it is important to think of those who intend to use vehicle in longer distances, and hybrid technology can provide them a modern, environmentally conscious way of transport. In this article, we describe the method of creating the fuel consumption influencing factors matrix, which is the starting point of our research. We studied relevant researches and based on refueling studies we created the matrix. Based on results of real tests, we determined the factor mix that are the basis of our fuel consumption prediction model. These results will be inputs of planning routes of autonomous vehicles with optimized refueling and fuel consumption.

In the paper the concepts of conversion a van vehicle type DZT Pasagon for bimodal hybryd car was described. The car will have the possibility to drive in three modes: "diesel", electric mode, and charging onboard battery. A special synchronous permanent magnets motor attended to the hybrid vehicle was designed. New motor will be mounted directly on the cardan shaft. The shaft of the electric motor is responsible for transmitting full torque from the internal combustion engine to the wheels. The electric motor will be able to work in motor and generator mode. In the generator mode batteries are charging. In the paper, distribution of main elements of the hybrid system, with particular emphasis on the location of the lithium ion batteries was discussed.

The paper describes initial stages of designing Modul Hybrid drive system. This type of drive uses traditional electric unit consisting of battery, starter and alternator. This system, appropriately adapted, for instance by increasing its overall rated power and supplementing it with novel energy control procedures, may operate in a manner similar to hybrid car drives. A supercapacitor will be introduced as a new component, its role is to operate as energy accumulator for IC engine start-ups. Automobile Stop & Go System in Modul Hybrid Drive makes it possible to switch off IC engine automatically when vehicle stops (e.g. at red light or in traffic hold-ups) and then to switch it on quickly again. This action makes it possible to decrease fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emission, particularly in towns. Results of supercapacitor performance during IC engine start-ups are presented in this paper. Energy consumption at start-up has been calculated together with start-up time. Magnetti Marelli-Denso E80E car starter used in Fiat Palio has been used in tests, this starter is rated at 12 V 1,0 kW. Several tens of IC engines start-ups were conducted, with starter supplied from traditional standard lead-acid battery (Centra Futura 055 290, C20 = 55Ah); next, similar tests were run using supercapacitor (MAXWELL BPAK 15V 58F.).

Szacunki światowego parku osobowych samochodów hybrydowych (HEV), hybrydowych typu plug - in (PHEV), w pełni elektrycznych (BEV). Łącznie liczbę wyprodukowanych na świecie do chwili obecnej hybrydowych samochodów elektrycznych (HEV) szacuje się na około 12,5 mln sztuk (Japonia ok. 4,3 mln sztuk, USA ok. 4 mln sztuk, Europa 1,1 mln sztuk, Polska ok 21 tys. zarejestrowanych sztuk). Liczba zarejestrowanych samochodów hybrydowych typu plug-in (PHEV) na świecie to ok. 500 tys. sztuk (2015 r.). Spośród 2,1 mln zarejestrowanych na świecie samochodów w pełni elektrycznych BEV (wraz z PHEV) w Europie było ok. 650 tys. sztuk (ok. 450 tys. sztuk w krajach UE).
Estimates of global hybrid car park (HEV), hybrid plug-in (PHEV), fully electric (BEV). Overall, the number of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) produced in the world is estimated to be around 12.5 million (Japan about 4.3 million, USA about 4 million, Europe with 1.1 million, Poland about 21 thousand registered cars). The number of registered plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) in the world is around 500,000 (2015). Of the 2.1 million registered worldwide BEV electric vehicles (including PHEV) in Europe was, around 650,000 (about 450 thousand in EU countries).

Within the framework of this study, there have been done a range of the road measurements whose aim was to determine the real driving cycles. Route Gliwice – Zabrze, Route Zabrze, Route Gliwice –city centre, Route Gliwice. The biggest standing share has been obtained for the route 3 – Gliwice centre (37,9% of the percentage value of the drive time). The subject of this paper is in agreement with carbon dioxide emission standards set by European Union states, since special attention is paid by EU regulations to car transport activities (Kyoto protocol based on UNFCCC, European Climate Change Programme and Intelligent Energy Europe programs.

The increasing requirements regarding the protection of environment and more and more restricted regulations on emission control, makes that soon the conventional simple propulsion system of vehicle would not fulfill environmental demands. "Zero emission" or "partial zero emission" vehicles can be powered only by use of electric propulsion or hybrid solutions should be taken into account. The accumulation of energy is the most important advantage of hybrid drive, which allows using the double stream of energy during braking and the accelerating the vehicle. In drive cycle the energy dissipated in conventional propulsion system can be accumulated and partially recuperated in hybrid system. In hybrid system engine characterizes the small range of speed and load changes, what allows better adjust its parameter to optimum work conditions. Hybrid drive makes possible to use different engines types or even fuel cells as a source of energy, what is important for present and future solutions as well.
