Escape rooms are increasingly popular all around the world. Due to their popularity, we are also seeing more variations in concept, form, and aim. For example, nowadays we can engage with physical, digital or mixed escape rooms. Escape rooms are also developed for a range of purposes beyond entertainment, including to broadcast a message, train, and/or exchange data. However, past research on escape rooms has focused mostly on analysing physical versions or on investigating if and how escape rooms can educate players. This paper aims to overcome these gaps by exploring how escape rooms (digital, physical or mixed) can be designed for a variety of purposes beyond entertainment. Hence, this paper offers two main contributions: a definition of escape rooms with a purpose and a framework that can be used to both design and analyse escape rooms with a purpose. The framework is initially implemented based on a literature review in the fields of serious games, escape rooms and puzzle design. Its efficacy is then tested through the analysis of three escape rooms with a purpose. Following this analysis, the framework is finalised to include the following key design elements: concept/idea; stakeholders (target players and others); purpose; goal/winning condition; equipment; theme; narrative (puzzle organisation and storytelling methods); puzzle design; and evaluation.

The normal mode solution for the form function and target strength (TS) of a solid-filled spherical shell is derived. The calculation results of the spherical shell’s acoustic TS are in good agreement with the results of the finite element method (FEM). Based on these normal mode solutions, the influences of parameters such as the material, radius, and thickness of the inner and outer shells on the TS of a solid-filled spherical shell are analyzed. An underwater spherical shell scatterer is designed, which uses room temperature vulcanized (RTV) silicone rubber as a solid filling material and does not contain a suspension structure inside. The scatterer has a good TS enhancement effect.

Environmental factors in workspaces affect employee productivity and satisfaction, particularly in call centres. One of the most challenging issues in contemporary offices is overcoming the problems of concentration on work, despite adverse effects such as insufficient lighting, inappropriate acoustics, or inadequate ventilation. The challenges increase in open-plan solutions. This paper presents a case study from Turkey that elaborates on strategies to improve environmental performance in call centres. It is inspired by a questionnaire conducted among employees of a call centre, identifying existing design lacks. Based on the results, acoustic quality calculations of the physical workspace follow, and initial computing outcomes reveal that the conditions do not meet the standards for call centres. The authors propose strategies to improve acoustic performance in the workspace and apply them to a virtual model. Results reveal that the proposed solutions allow for meeting the standards. Based on the findings, the authors suggest several other strategies for improving the physical environmental quality of the place, thus forming a guideline for the architectural design of call centres. The study derives information from a specific case and context to propose universally applicable solutions. It fills a gap in the literature as it exemplifies the characteristics of call centres in Turkey, which have not been studied before.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) was detected at the end of 2019 and has since caused a worldwide pandemic. This virus is transferred airborne. In this study, an investigation was carried out of the ventilation strategies inside the isolation room based on exhaust air locations. To reduce the infection disease (COVID-19), due to the spreading of exhaled contaminants by humans in interior environments, five models for ventilation systems differing in the position of the outlet and inlet were used. This study aims to increase knowledge regarding the exhaled contaminant distribution under different environ-mental conditions (opening exhaust and negative pressure). The results showed a good agreement be-tween the computational results and the experimental data. Tracer gas CO2 was used to evaluate the air quality experimentally and computationally. The results showed that stable conditions are obtained inside the room at a negative pressure value above –1.5 Pa. The residence time of the infected airborne decreases when the pressure difference increases. The study revealed that the model with an air outlet opening installed behind the patient enabled avoiding the spread of infection in the room.

Problem republikanizmu należy do zespołu problemów polityki, którymi Kant zajął się już  pod koniec życia.  Rozwój i doskonalenie się człowieka nie mieści się w działaniu ludzkiej natury, która jest niezmienna, ale w osobowym działaniu wolności. Ostatecznym tego celem jest wieczny pokój. Warunkiem zaś rozwoju i osiągnięcia celu najwyższego jest zbudowanie ustroju republikańskiego. Kant pokazuje to m.in. na przykładzie rewolucji francuskiej. Choć jest zdecydowanym przeciwnikiem każdej rewolucji, ze względu na sposoby jej realizacji, to w tym przypadku jej skutki ocenia pozytywnie, gdyż wyraziło się w niej prawo narodu do swobodnego nadania sobie ustroju obywatelskiego prawego i uznanego za dobry, jakim jest ustrój republikański. Ustrój republikański jest najlepszy ze wszystkich i określa formę państwa oraz ważniejszą od niej formę rządu, charakteryzującą się rozdzieleniem władz ustawodawczych i wykonawczych oraz trzema istotnymi zasadami: 1) zasadą wolności wszystkich obywateli; 2) zasadą zależności wszystkich od wspólnego prawa; 3) zasadą równości obywateli.
The problem of republicanism belongs to the set of issues of politics that Kant addressed towards the end of his life.  The development and perfection of man does not lie in the action of human nature, which is constant, but in the person’s action of freedom. The ultimate goal of human’s development is eternal peace. The condition for the attainment of this supreme goal is the establishment of a republican system. Kant illustrates his account of historical progress with the example of the French Revolution. Although he is a staunch opponent of every revolution because of the means of its enforcement, he views its effects positively. He thinks it expressed the right of the people to freely give themselves a civic system that is legitimate and recognised as good: a republican system, which is the best of all systems. Republicanism determines the form of the state, and, more importantly the form of government, one that is characterised by the separation of legislative and executive powers, and by three essential principles: 1) the principle of freedom for all citizens; 2) the principle of dependence of all on the universal law; 3) the principle of equality of all citizens.

This article is the first study of the library belonging to the Łódź industrialist and art collector Henryk Grohman (1862–1939). It attempts to answer the question of the degree to which analysing these volumes, which are now housed in the collections of the University of Warsaw Library and the National Museum in Warsaw, can prove helpful in the study of art collections. The methodology for researching historical book collections was used to reconstruct and describe the library. These inquiries resulted in more than 165 titles being determined, which originally belonging to Grohman and covered oriental and European arts and crafts, as well as graphic and drawing arts (about 60). These included monographs, albums, and critical catalogues, exhibition and antiquarian nature, published mainly in Western Europe before 1914. The collector’s specialized book collection, built up on an ongoing basis, overlapped with his artistic interests and had the character of a utilitarian library. From the point of view of the study of graphic collections of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the reference libraries of their creators seem to be of particular importance. In times when taste no longer sufficed to create a valuable collection, and quality and rarity became the main criteria for selecting graphic works, specialized literature on the subject was of help. Created by art historians, collection curators, art market experts, and also private collectors, it introduced the nuanced world of graphic arts. It provided a tool to help identify a print, determine its state, edition and quality, and thus determine the value of a given work. The preserved publications from Grohman’s library were therefore regarded as sources of specialized knowledge that the collector could not acquire either during his education or in his native environment. Three publications have been analysed in detail in the context of Grohman’s graphic arts collection: the series Le peintre-graveur illustré by Loys Delteil (1906–1926), the two-volume catalogue of Jean-Louis Forain’s lithographs and etchings by Marcel Guérin (1910, 1912), and the album devoted to the engravings of Fank Bangwyn prepared by Frank Newbolt (1908). These are publications reflecting the thriving activity of the circle of print enthusiasts of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which had a significant impact on the dissemination of knowledge about this field of art. The series of relationships revealed between the collection of prints and drawings and the reference library significantly expanded the knowledge on its creator and how the collection was formed. It made it possible to appreciate the collector’s expertise and artistic taste, to observe how his awareness grew, influencing decisions on subsequent purchases, and also to detail the provenance of certain works. Thanks to the research field being expanded to include Grohman’s library, the findings on his graphic collection have become more complete and reliable.

There are still discrepancies in the measurement results despite the standardized methods of measuring the sound absorption coefficient in the reverberation room. They appear especially in interlaboratory tests. The research used the method included in the EN-ISO 354: 2003 standard to determine the sound absorption coefficient. The subject of scientific research was to investigate the impact of measurement techniques (Maximum Length Sequence method and interrupted noise method for both T20 and T30 evaluation ranges), humidity in the test room, sample seasoning and sample fitting, and finally the influence of room variability on the measurement results. The tests were performed in two reverberation chambers. The study included two types of materials. Samples (1) made of identical pieces of mineral wool (ISOVER glass wool and ROCKWOOL rock wool) and (2) of fibreboard. Mineral wool was of different thicknesses. Among the measurement techniques, the smallest dispersion of the reverberation time results was obtained with the MLS -T30 method, and the highest differences in the results were caused by the test being performed in another room (reverberation chamber). There was no significant influence with the increase in humidity or the careful arrangement of the test sample from the components on the measurement result.

The most commonly used measurement technique in room acoustics employs a single omnidirectional microphone for recording the room impulse response and further derivation of such acoustical parameters as T30, EDT, C50 or C80. Instead, ambisonic technology makes it possible to measure a spatial room impulse response. Ambisonics decomposes the signal from the spherical microphone array into spherical harmonics to shape the directivity. Ambisonics lets to go beyond basic acoustical parameters and allows to determine spatial features of a sound field at the measurement point. This study presents the comparison of fundamental acoustic parameters measured in the recording studio by an actual omnidirectional microphone and virtual omnidirectional microphones derieved from ambisonic microphones of the first and third order. The results show the usefulness of ambisonic technology in terms of assessing basic room parameters.

Technological advances in computer science have secured the computer metaphor status of a heuristic methodological tool used to answer the question about the nature of mind. Nevertheless, some philosophers strongly support opposite opinions. Anti-computationalism in the philosophy of mind is a methodological program that uses extremely heterogeneous grounds for argumentation, deserving analysis and discussion. This article provides an overview and interpretation of the traditional criticism of the computational theory of mind (computationalism); its basic theses have been formed in Western philosophy in the last quarter of the 20th century. The main goal is to reveal the content of the arguments of typical anti-computationalist programs and expand their application to the framework of the semantic problems of the Classic Computational Theory of Mind. The main fault of the symbolic approach in the classical computationalism is the absence of a full-fledged theory of semantic properties. The relevance of considering these seemingly outdated problems is justified by the fact that the problem of meaning (and general problems of semantics) remains in the core of the latest developments in various areas of AI and the principles of human-computer interaction.

Accurate definition of boundary conditions is of crucial importance for room acoustic predictions because the wall impedance phase angle can affect the sound field in rooms and acoustic parameters applied to assess a room reverberation. In this paper, the issue was investigated theoretically using the convolution integral and a modal representation of the room impulse response for complex-valued boundary conditions. Theoretical considerations have been accompanied with numerical simulations carried out for a rectangular room. The case of zero phase angle, which is often assumed in room acoustic simulations, was taken as a reference, and differences in the sound pressure level and decay times were determined in relation to this case. Calculation results have shown that a slight deviation of the phase angle with respect to the phase equal to zero can cause a perceptual difference in the sound pressure level. This effect was found to be due to a change in modal frequencies as a result of an increase or decrease in the phase angle. Simulations have demonstrated that surface distributions of decay times are highly irregular, while a much greater range of the early decay time compared to the reverberation time range indicates that a decay curve is nonlinear. It was also found that a difference between the decay times predicted for the complex impedance and real impedance is especially clearly audible for the largest impedance phase angles because it corresponds approximately to 4 just noticeable differences for the reverberation metrics.

The greatest vibration occurs in the engine room, but all other parts of the ship also experience vibrations because it is propagating. Even though there are methods to reduce these vibrations such as engine beds, they can only reduce the damaging effects and cannot completely eliminate the vibrations themselves. The method used in this research is to compare the measurement of good vibrations in the conditions before the addition of construction and after the addition of construction for later comparison with numerical calculation data. The purpose of this study is to obtain the maximum vibration value in the conditions after the addition of the gorger construction before the addition of the side deck girder construction as a means of evaluating the side deck girder construction planning in the ship engine room ship 2000 DWT. The result consideration of adding construction becomes one or the alternative in providing reinforcement so that it can reduce the vibration that occurs. From analyze results after addition of a sized T profile FB 180 x 8 mm FP 75 x 10 mm, which ranges from 28 - 29 m/s2 for the x-axis vibration value, while for vibrations on the y-axis the maximum is 10-11 m/s2, and on the maximum z-axis. at 20-21 m/s2, this analyze vibration is based on the time between 0 - 15 seconds or per 15 second interval, able to reduce percentage of vibration in the ship engine room area is 34.91%.

Acoustic measurements such as scale modeling measurements require a particular type of miniature omnidirectional sound source. The most important aspects of those devices are small sizes (usually below 100 mm in diameter) and different frequency ranges compared to traditional, omnidirectional sound sources used in room acoustics. The required frequency range differs regarding the used scale factor in different models, which leads to the troubles in frequent source changes and the need for a unique source design for every model. The project will present the recent achievement in miniature omnidirectional sound sources development. The optimal sound sources for the given measurement functions were developed based on the previous numerical simulations and experiments such as FEM sound directivity simulations or transducers' parameters tolerance testing. The sound sources presented are used for applications such as acoustic sound insulation scale measurements (frequency range 800 ÷ 63 000 Hz), scaled reverberation chamber measurements (300 ÷ 80 000 Hz), or acoustic reduction models measurements (400 ÷ 70 000 Hz). The paper will cover a detailed technical explanation of the laboratory environment's source construction aspects and validation measurements.

Celem artykułu jest ukazanie ciągłości gatunkowej portretu w kolejnym medium oraz wskazanie nowych jego cech i elementów na podstawie trzech obrazów w reżyserii Jana Komasy: Boże Ciało, Miasto 44 i Sala samobójców. W badaniach zastosowano analizę zawartości, analizę porównawczą oraz analizę struktury dzieła filmowego. Wykorzystano również nurt semantyczny, wskazujący na znaczenie portretu w filmie. Powyższa analiza pokazała, iż portret filmowy opierający się na elementach języka filmowego nadal ma wiele wspólnego z klasycznym portretem malarskim czy fotograficznym. Charakteryzuje bohatera, jest jego podobizną, opisem, a jednocześnie dla akcji filmu jest elementem dramaturgicznym. Sposób jego wykorzystania wzmacnia styl estetyczno-gatunkowy filmowej opowieści, a portrety są nie tylko rejestracją wizerunku postaci, ale mają funkcje artystyczne.
The purpose of this article is to show the genre continuity of portraiture in the next medium and to identify its new features and elements based on three pictures directed by Jan Komasa: Corpus Christi, Warsaw 44, and Suicide Room. The research used content analysis, comparative analysis, and analysis of the structure of the film work. The semantic trend indicating the importance of portrayal in the film was also used. The above analysis showed that film portraiture based on elements of film language still has much in common with classical painting or photographic portraiture. It characterizes the protagonist, his likeness, and description, and at the same time, the action of the film is a dramatic element. The way it is used reinforces the aesthetic and genre style of the film story, and portraits are not only a registration of the character's image but have artistic functions.

W PN-B-2151-4:2015 wyróżnia się dwa typy wielkopowierzchniowych pomieszczeń pracy: grupę 1 - pomieszczenia biurowe open space (inaczej zwane otwartymi pomieszczeniami do prac administracyjnych), sale operacyjne banków i urzędów, biura obsługi klienta, oraz grupę 2 - centra obsługi telefonicznej. W każdej z tych grup określona jest minimalna chłonność akustyczna pomieszczenia. W PN-EN ISO 3382-3:2012 wprowadzono cztery inne kryteria akustyczne pomieszczeń, dotyczące grupy 2. Do stanowisk pracy lub wymienionych pomieszczeń odnoszą się także kryteria związane z dopuszczalnym hałasem, określone w PN-N-01307:1994 oraz PN-B-02151-2:2018. Omawiane kryteria opracowano od 28 do czterech lat wstecz i w wielu przypadkach nie są one w pełni dostosowane do obecnie eksploatowanych pomieszczeń. Skutkiem tego było wprowadzenie w nowej normie ISO 22955:2021 nowego podziału wielkopowierzchniowych pomieszczeń pracy na sześć klas, w tym klasy pomieszczeń przeznaczonych do pracy biurowej, ale bez wyposażenia. W artykule omówiono wymagania oraz podano kryteria oceny pomieszczeń biurowych open space według ISO 22955:2021 oraz norm: PN-N-01307, PN-B-02151-2, PN-B-02151-4 i PN-EN ISO 3382-3.
The Polish standard PN-B-02151-4: 2015 distinguishes two types of large-area work rooms: 1 - open plan offices, operating rooms for banks and offices, customer service offices and 2 - call centres. In each of these types, criteria for the minimum sound absorption of the room are defined. The PN-EN ISO 3382-32012 specifies four other acoustic criteria for rooms, but referring only to rooms type 2. For workplaces or the above-mentioned the rooms are also subject to the criteria for permissible noise specified in the PN-N-01307:1994 and the PN-B-02151-2:2018 standards. Above the criteria were developed from 28 to 4 years ago and in many cases are not fully adapted to the currently used rooms. As a result, the new ISO 22955: 2021 introduced a new division of open plan offices spaces/rooms. There are five types of used rooms and an additional class i.e. a room intended for office work, but without equipment. The article will discuss the acoustic requirements and the evaluation criteria of the rooms according to ISO 22955:2021 and the standards: PN-N-01307, PN-B-02151-2, PN-B-02151-4 and PN-EN ISO 3382-3.

Opis:
Świetlica to instytucja o charakterze opiekuńczo-wychowawczym, będąca częścią integralną szkoły. Wypełnia zadania uzupełniające proces opieki i wychowania uczniów w czasie, kiedy czekają oni na rozpoczęcie zajęć dydaktycznych lub po zakończeniu tych zajęć. Zarówno opieka, jak i wychowanie oraz realizacja zajęć dydaktycznych w świetlicy szkolnej są działaniami odrębnymi. Mimo to w prawidłowo realizowanej pracy w ramach zajęć świetlicowych pozostają one we wspólnych zależnościach. Najważniejszym ogniwem dobrze funkcjonującej świetlicy jest osoba opiekuna-wychowawcy. Od jego kompetencji zależy to, jak odbierana jest rola świetlicy w oczach uczniów i ich rodziców. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań świadczą o aktywnej postawie wychowawców świetlicy względem wychowanków.
Common room is an educational and care institution. It forms an integral part of a school. Its function is to complement the educational and care process of the pupils before or after their school classes. Care, education and conduction of classes in a common room are separate tasks. Nonetheless they are mutually dependent if the common room activities are implemented properly. The most important element of a well-functioning common room is a common room teacher. Its competence determines how the role of a common room is perceived by pupils and their parents. The results of the conducted research suggest an active attitude of common room teachers toward their pupils.
