Optimal stopping time problems for a risk process $U_t=u+ct-\sum_{n=0}^{N(t)}X_n$ where the number N(t) of losses up to time t is a general renewal process and the sequence of $X_i$'s represents successive losses are studied. N(t) and $X_i$'s are independent. Our goal is to maximize the expected return before the ruin time. The main results are closely related to those obtained by Boshuizen and Gouweleew [2].

W niniejszej pracy rozważano problem aproksymacji prawdopodobieństwa ruiny dla dwuwymiarowego procesu ryzyka, dla którego wszystkie szkody jak i zebrana składka dzielone są pomiędzy dwa składowe procesy ryzyka wg wcześniej zdefiniowanej i stałej w czasie proporcji. Taki proces ryzyka może opisywać układ ubezpieczyciela i reasekuratora, dla których wszystkie polisy w portfelu objęte są kontraktem reasekuracji proporcjonalnej. Stosując technikę zaproponowaną przez De Vyldera uzyskano aproksymację prawdopodobieństwa ruiny w przypadku, gdy szkody w rozważanym dwuwymiarowym procesie ryzyka są z dowolnego rozkładu o skończonych pierwszych trzech momentach. Jakość uzyskanych przybliżeń prawdopodobieństwa ruiny została zweryfikowana za pomocą symulacji Monte Carlo dla kilku typowych rozkładów prawdopodobieństwa używanych do modelowania szkód ubezpieczeniowych. Wszystkie wyniki wskazują, że zaproponowana aproksymacja prowadzi do małych błędów względnych. Na koniec, opracowana technika została użyta dla rzeczywistych danych uzyskanych od jednego z polskich towarzystw ubezpieczeniowych.
In this article we introduce a De Vylder type of approximation of the ruin probability for a two-dimensional risk process, where claims and premiums are shared with a predetermined proportion. Such a process is usually associated with the insurer-reinsurer model. Applying De Vylder's idea to the risk process we obtain an approximation of the ruin probability for an arbitrary claim amount distribution only assuming that the third moment exists. We check the performance of the approximation by means of the Monte Carlo simulations studying several typical claim amount distributions. All results show that the proposed approximation yields very small relative errors. Finally, we illustrate the approximation by considering real-world loss data obtained from a Polish insurance company.

Risk management is an activity which integrates recognition of risk, risk assessment, developing strategies to manage it, and mitigation of risk using managerial resources. Some traditional risk managements are focused on risks stemming from physical or legal causes (e.g. natural disasters or fires, accidents, death). Financial risk management, on the other hand, focuses on risks that can be managed using traded financial instruments. Objective of risk management is to reduce different risks related to a pre-selected domain to an acceptable. It may refer to numerous types of threats caused by environment, technology, humans, organizations and politics. The paper describes the different steps in the risk management process which methods are used in the different steps, and provides some examples for risk and safety management.

Risk assessment is one of the important ways to analyze and protecting production processes. It facilitates to focus on the risks that really matter to execute a fail-safe manufacturing process or task. Risk management is considered to be a proactive and planned approach in order to encounter problems and reacting to them if they arise. On the other hand it provides assistance to continuous monitoring and evaluating of potential failure that might occurs during a process, moreover, it also explores the ways to avoid probable cost, time delays and quality of a product or service. The output of assessment process such as list of potential failures, their consequences and likelihood, and response system is circulated within the enterprise, so that personnel involved of risks and the criticality of a machine itself that performs the specific production process.

The paper focuses on a quantitative analysis of the probability of ruin in a finite time for a discrete risk process with proportional reinsurance and investment of the financial surplus. It is assumed that the total loss on a unit interval has either a light-tailed distribution – exponential distribution or a heavytailed distribution – Pareto distribution. The ruin probabilities for the finite-horizons 5 and 10 were determined from recurrence equations. Moreover, the upper bound of the ruin probability is given for the exponential distribution based on the Lundberg adjustment coefficient. This adjustment coefficient does not exist for the Pareto distribution, hence an asymptotic approximation is given for the ruin probability when the initial capital tends to infinity. The numerical results obtained are illustrated by tables and figures.

Many practical tasks of data multivariate statistical analysis from the standpoint of a risk-oriented process approach (in accordance with ISO 9001: 2015, 31000: 2018) requires the definition of the risk values for the dependent exogenous variables of some processes. This paper proposes the method, which consist of original stages sequence for calculating value-at-risk (VaR) or conditional-value-at-risk (CVaR) of dependent exogenous variables, presented of the extreme data frame of critical manufacture process parameters or other parameters, for example, extreme data of environmental monitoring and etc. Risk analysis method by the extreme data of dependent exogenous variables, presented of the data matrix, uses the result of solving the formalized problem of defines the tails parameters of the joint distributions of exogenous variables as components of a bivariate random variable. It can be argued that the tails parameters of the joint distributions of dependent exogenous variables make the validated corrections of the VaR and CVaR estimates for such variables. This method expands the practical application of extreme value theory for the value at risk analysis of any dependent variables as process parameters.

Risk is an inherent element of business operations. In the case of production enterprises, the risk can be considered in the area of material, machine, man and process organization. PN ISO 31000:2018 recommends integrating the risk management system with other management systems within a company, pointing to the significant role of understanding the external and internal context of the organization and identifying the needs of stakeholders. The risk management process consists of two steps: identification and analysis affecting the risk factors and quantitative measurement of its level. The article proposes a risk management model for a production enterprise, making a theoretical analysis. The proposed model and procedure are based on the guidelines of PN ISO 31000:2018. The proposed procedure for risk management includes the stage of hazard identification in a selected area, setting criteria and levels of admissibility of individual threats, risk analysis and evaluation of risk levels in relation to the adopted criteria.

Opis:
The processes effectiveness means their ability to achieve the planned aims. While planning the aims, one should currently take into consideration not only the quality parameters but also all of the criteria reflecting the expectations stated by the interested parties. Influence on the processes by the factors disturbing their realization requires such their monitoring and regulation to make the aims achievable. In return, it requires development and application of the processes assessment methods enabling pointing out their pivotal points and the possibilities of their monitoring. The study proposes the following combination: process approach and risk assessment enabling pointing out the “risky” processes as well as their “risky” aspects. The risk of the particular process has been evaluated by taking advantage of two methods considering various risk parameters as well as various individual criteria for assessing the mentioned parameters. Application of the developed methodologies of risk analysis and assessment of its acceptability allowed for formulating the conclusion that while risk assessment the following aspects are important: choice of the risk parameters, application of the individual assessment criteria of these parameters and taking advantage of the risk acceptability scale of the process, depending on the phase of its improvement. Properly prepared method of risk assessment gives the chance for the effective monitoring of the process risk refraining from its particular threats.

The article presents the influence of safe integration assessment on completeness and effectiveness of risk assessment processes in accordance with CSM-RA Regulation. The role and importance of safe integration assessment carried out within risk management process in railroad transport before and after implementation of “Clarification Note on Safe Integration” published by European Railway Agency has been shown. The publication presents the way safe integration is demonstrated by entities implementing the change and the role and tasks of risk assessors (AsBo) in its assessment as part of risk management process evaluation carried out by Applicants.

Przedstawiony artykuł ma charakter opisowy, w którym przeprowadzono analizę źródłową. W artykule przedstawiono znaczenie oraz uwarunkowania zarządzania ryzykiem w przedsiębiorstwie.
Risk is a phenomenon associated with any activity aimed at achieving its objectives. This phenomenon arises from the different risks of incurring losses by entrepreneurs and other business entities. Today, an increasing number of situations to take risks. All organizations, regardless of size come into contact with internal and external factors that give rise to uncertainty. The result of this uncertainty is the risk associated with any type of business. It is therefore important to any enterprise undertaken measures to reduce uncertainty and a list of wrong decisions causing a risk of action. This paper is descriptive in which the analysis of the source. The article presents the significance and conditions of enterprise risk management.

We consider a generalization of the classical risk model when the premium intensity depends on the current surplus of an insurance company. All surplus is invested in the risky asset, the price of which follows a geometric Brownian motion. We get an exponential bound for the infinite-horizon ruin probability. To this end, we allow the surplus process to explode and investigate the question concerning the probability of explosion of the surplus process between claim arrivals.

The article discusses the structure and competence of the risk management teams in self-government administration institutions in terms of crisis management. The individual roles and responsibilities of employees responsible for the implementation, execution and control of the risk management process are indicated. The results of investigations carried out in selected self-government administration institutions, including municipalities, districts and provinces, on the preparation of the staff to carry out risk management tasks are discussed. Change directions and recommendations for structuring risk management teams have been proposed. These proposals constitute one of the elements of the overall risk management model in crisis management.
W artykule przedstawiono rozważania dotyczące struktury i kompetencji zespołów ds. zarządzania ryzykiem w jednostkach administracji samorządowej w aspekcie zarządzania kryzysowego. Wskazano poszczególne role i zadania pracowników odpowiedzialnych za wdrożenie, realizację i kontrolę procesu zarządzania ryzykiem. Omówiono wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w wybranych jednostkach administracji samorządowej, w tym: w gminach, powiatach i województwach, dotyczących przygotowania kadry pracowniczej do realizacji zadań z zakresu zarządzania ryzykiem. Zaproponowano kierunki zmian i rekomendacje w zakresie tworzenia struktur zespołów ds. zarządzania ryzykiem. Propozycje te stanowią jeden z elementów ogólnego modelu zarządzania ryzykiem w zarządzaniu kryzysowym.

Opis:
Praca analizuje wpływ ryzyka na szeroko pojmowaną działalność gospodarczą oraz nieruchomości. Jej celem jest przybliżenie pojęcia „zarządzanie ryzykiem” i przedstawienie złożonego procesu zarządzania ryzykiem w organizacjach. Szczególny nacisk w opracowaniu został położony na ryzyko katastroficzne powodujące wysokie straty w nieruchomościach oraz zarządzanie nim poprzez ubezpieczenie.
The paper analysis the influence of widely understood business activity and real estate matters. It brings closer the issue of ‘risk management’ and presents the complex process of risk management in organisations. The work pays special attention to catastrophic risk causing high losses in properties and risk management by insurance. Issues raised in the article constitute the authoress’ research and dissertation subject, where selected theses of the paper come from.

W referacie przedstawiono funkcjonowanie audytu wewnętrznego na poziomie samorządu terytorialnego, na przykładzie Starostwa Powiatowego w Chojnicach. Celem takiego audytu jest poprawa zarządzania poprzez usprawnienie pracy audytowanej komórki oraz pomoc w zminimalizowaniu zagrożeń i unikaniu ewentualnych błędów. Wykorzystując literaturę oraz akty prawne i źródła wewnętrzne opisano mechanizmy i procedury związane z audytem wewnętrznym. Zwrócono uwagę na metodykę, ryzyko i planowanie audytu oraz jego raportowanie.
The paper presents the internal audit function at the level of local government, for example, the district office in Chojnice. The purpose of this audit is to improve management by streamlining work audited cells and help in minimizing risks and avoiding potential errors. Using literature and legislation and internal sources described the mechanisms and procedures related to internal audit. Attention is paid to the methodology, risk and audit planning and reporting it.

W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki analizy i oceny ryzyka procesowego podziemnej części instalacji zgazowania węgla, która była elementem poligonu doświadczalnego dla prowadzonego w 2013 roku, w Kopalni Doświadczalnej „Barbara", eksperymentu podziemnego zgazowania węgla w ramach projektu HUGE2 {Hydrogen Oriented Underground Coal Gasification for Europe - Environmental and Safety Aspects). W tym celu wykorzystano materiały i opracowania dotyczące eksperymentów realizowanych w ramach czystych technologii węglowych, udostępnione przez Główny Instytut Górnictwa (GIG) oraz informacje uzyskane z projektu HUGE (Hydrogen Oriented Underground Coal Gasification for Europe) prowadzonego przez GIG w Kopalni Doświadczalnej „Barbara" w latach 2007-2010. Identyfikacja zagrożeń, czyli czynników niebezpiecznych i szkodliwych, które mają potencjał do generowania zdarzeń niebezpiecznych, pozwoliła na zaproponowanie działań profilaktycznych, mających na celu redukcję ryzyka na etapie prowadzenia eksperymentu zgazowania. W artykule zaprezentowano również wyniki oceny ryzyka procesowego, ukierunkowanej na identyfikację możliwych błędów mogących doprowadzić do awarii systemu. Wprowadzone rozwiązania pozwoliły na opracowanie instrukcji bezpiecznego prowadzenia eksperymentu tak, aby poza prawidłowym przebiegiem próby podziemnego zgazowania, zapewnić ochronę zdrowia i życia osób biorących udział w eksperymencie. Zadanie to było tym trudniejsze, iż zarówno w kraju, jak i na świecie, brak jest doświadczeń w zakresie analizy i oceny ryzyka dla podobnych prób prowadzonych pod ziemią.
This paper presents the results of evaluation of risk for the element of underground coal gasification system which was a part of the testing ground for the experiment of underground coal gasification, performed in 2013 in the testing mine "Barbara" in the framework of the HUGE2 (Hydrogen Oriented Underground Coal Gasification for Europe - Environmental and Safety Aspects) project. Thus, it was necessary to use the references and elaborations on experiments performed on the basis of clean coal technologies, as well as to use information obtained from project HUGE (Hydrogen Oriented Underground Coal Gasification for Europe) shared and led by the Central Mining Institute in the testing mine "Barbara" between 2007 and 2010. The identification of hazards, namely, the dangerous and destructive factors which may tend to generate hazardous events, allowed to propose preventive measures for the reduction of risk during an underground coal gasification experiment. This paper also presents the results of the process risk assessment directed on the identification of possible errors which may lead to system failure. The implemented solutions allowed to develop guidelines for safe conduction of experiments so that apart from the correct run of the underground gasification test, it was possible to ensure health and life protection of the people who participate in this experiment. This task was more difficult as both in Poland and worldwide there is little experience in the field of evaluation and assessment of risk for similar tests carried out underground.

Process of suppliers selection, as well as cooperation between suppliers and manufacturers, are a significant problem for today’s companies. Producers negotiate and arrange with their subcontractors to ensure a continuity of production. Following this, one of the major problem is supplier evaluation and supply risk assessment in order to avoid delays, which may seriously affect the producers’ ability. In the paper there are presented the main types of risk and the methods of its classification and evaluation used in logistic processes performance. The analysed problem is to be discussed on the example of Whirlpool-Polar company from Poland. For the presented company, there is investigated supplier evaluation process, suppliers classification with the relation of their purchasing and bargaining power to the degree of their obligations fulfilment. Moreover, there is defined the supply risk concept, what gives the possibility to compare the suppliers purchasing power with the defined supply risk. Later, there are presented main possibilities to reduce the supply risk by using a “milk run” method with a number of variants of the simulation and its evaluations. The presented results comply with the profitability of transport in the case of round-trip transportation performance. Transport of goods is cost effective when the usage of the truck transport capacity will be at least 85%. Following this, the presented research analysis result gives the possibility to reduce risk in terms of reducing disruptions occurrence consequences, when the probabilities of their appearance remain at the same level.

A widely accepted definition of resilience is the intrinsic ability of a system to adjust its functioning prior to, during, or following changes and disturbances so that it can sustain required operational safety under both expected and unexpected conditions. These concepts have been applied in the process or manufacturing industry with different attempts in switching from the traditional risk management approach to a resilience one, still finding a lack of clarity in the definitions and in the objectives and, consequently, a lack in the methodologies and tools to support those efforts. The attempts and the need for further research or clarification is discussed in this paper.

The aim of this contribution is to focus attention on a new emerging risk known in the literature as Na-Tech risk (Natural-Technological risk). Na-Tech are technological accidents triggered by natural events, these are of particular interest for high risk industries. The magnitude of such an event is much broader than that related to a technological accident and its management is much more complex. Adequate preparedness, proper emergency planning and effective response are crucial for the prevention and mitigation of the consequences of Na-Techs This contribution gives a general overview of the methodologies, that are currently being developed, in order to integrate these types of scenarios into the conventional quantitative risk analysis for chemical and process industry.

One of the basic stages of mining operations is development work. During them there can occur the events that affect the process of development work as well as the safety of workers. This article conducts a process risk assessment using the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method to identify events that disrupt the development work process, along with the causes of the occurrence of these events. The study covered the process of development work i.e. the execution of the M-2 roadway in seam 502/1 realized at a depth of about 550 m with an assumed length of about 500 m. As a result of the study, those risks for which countermeasures should be applied were identified, and measures were proposed to minimize the risks involved. As part of the research, an FMEA evaluation form was created to assess process risks in the execution of similar work. The highest process risk was identified for the drivage of the excavation with a road header, and is related to the possibility of frequent failure of hydraulic systems. Similar process risk results were obtained for the risk associated with improper execution of mining with explosives and the need to perform additional blasting work in the excavated roadway. The results can contribute to reducing the time of coal face stoppage during development work, and thus improve the process of them and reduce the costs incurred during this process.

In the article, a method for assessment of risks connected with a technical object functioning has been studied, in a selected operating system. An urban system of bus transportation, in a selected urban complex, has been chosen as the research object. Functioning of each technical object operating system, including transportation systems, is dependent on its possibility to perform properly the assigned transport task. One of the methods for assessment of the transportation system ability to accomplish the assigned transport task in a proper way is determination of the transport means operation risk. The presented approach involves determination of indexes defining the risks connected with functioning of one technical object (transport means) in an executive subsystem. Indexes of the risk connected with functioning of a single technical object have been determined on the basis of a mathematical model of the operation process, in the studied transportation system. On the basis of the identification of the authentic transport system and the means of transport operation process carried out in it, crucial operational states were designed as well as the possibilities of transferring between the particular states. Based on that, an event-centered model of the use of the means of transport was built, followed by a mathematical model of that process. A Mathematical model of the operation process has been developed with acceptance of an assumption that the process model is to be represented by a homogeneous Markov model X(t). In this paper, the transport means operation risk is determined as a product of probability (or sum of probabilities) of its being in an undesirable state (states) of the Markov model of transport means operation process and the size of the damage in effect of being in the state (states). The size of the suffered damage is measured by a product of time and unit cost whose quantities are connected with being in the operation process undesirable state or states. Assessment of risk connected with technical objects operation and maintenance can be the point of reference to formulate design requirements concerning durability and reliability of the operated objects (transport means) as well as assumptions concerning design or modernization of the technical means necessary for assurance of the vehicle availability in a given transport system.

In most NATO countries, pilots are prepared in accordance with a modern system of three-stage training: selection, basic and advanced. For each phase, the purpose and scope of the training shall be defined and the aviation equipment together with training support systems should be appropriate selected. The practical training in the air is performed according to the parallelism of the training, which describes the technological relationships between the individual exercises. The purpose of this contribution is to propose a mathematical model which would enable the selection of exercises for each pilot, the appropriate selection of the aircraft and the moment of beginning of each exercise, so that all required exercises are carried out in the shortest possible time. Additionally, in this paper the concept of pilot’s habits and skills improvements is presented.

Istotnym segmentem działań podejmowanych w procesie łączenia się spółek kapitałowych jest opracowanie strategii zarządzania ryzykiem. Kluczowe przedsięwzięcie w tym zakresie obejmuje między innymi identyfikację źródeł niepewności związanych z realizacją przedsięwzięcia. W artykule wyszczególniono najważniejsze czynniki ryzyka oddziałujące na proces łączenia się spółek kapitałowych w branży ciepłowniczej. W treści zaprezentowano krótką analizę tych czynników z określeniem prawdopodobieństwa wystąpienia niekorzystnych zdarzeń. Interesujący element pracy stanowi diagnoza wskazująca na poziom istotności określonego rodzaju ryzyka z punktu widzenia realizowanego procesu fuzji. Artykuł zwraca uwagę na fakt, iż w procesie reagowania na pojawiające się zagrożenia istotne jest kreowanie właściwej strategii zarządzania ryzykiem, pozwalającej na odpowiednie monitorowanie niebezpieczeństw i szans na wszystkich etapach realizacji połączenia przedsiębiorstw.
One of the most significant elements in the merger process is connected with preparing a strategy of risk management to define factors which contribute to any potential risk during the whole process. In this article, the most important risk factors which affect the merger process of the companies operating in the heating sector were identified. The author also presents a short analysis which determines the probability of its occurrence. The analysis indicates the significant level of the risk factors while taking into consideration the implementation of the merger process. The conclusions based on the analysis confirm that it is very important to create the relevant risk management strategy in order to address any risks. The risk management strategy proposes to take appropriate steps in monitoring risk as well as chance at every stages of the merger process.

This academic paper presents results of research conducted in 2012 in a production business in south Poland where the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method was applied. The objective of the research was to establish the level of risk for selected factors resulting from higher production output of the business in focus. Moreover, selection of the decision-making variant burdened by the lowest risk priority for the achievement of goals set comprised an important research criterion. The application of ANP facilitated a comprehensive approach to the issue in focus. The overriding goal was to demonstrate the efficacy of the method in solving multi-criteria decision problems, especially those which require risk analysis.

The article presents the issues of risk management for the logistics processes. Contents considerations for defining the logistics process and risk management in logistics processes. Issues related to risk, and risk management in logistics processes at how far a modest Polish literature allows you to create substantive framework for further research in favor of such an important issue. That supply chain management and logistics are a determining factor for the long term success of a company was well documented by Forrester over a half century ago [1], with the importance of the statement only growing through the intervening years. Whether consciously factored into the operating mode or not, logistics and distribution channel management plays a critical role in the life, and death, of a firm. From the rudimentary beginnings of the start-up company to the hectic world of the growth company and onto the relatively secure existence in mature markets, the value chain consisting of logistics and distribution channel linkages follows the firm, until it solidifies into immutable form of the mature value chain and begins to exert an inexorable pressure on the survival of the entire chain, and conversely the chain imposes its will on the members. The emergence of mature industry value chains is often driven by the need to monopolistically control logistics and distribution channels which provides a competitive advantage but also introduces a serious exposure to pending shock loadings of the chain.

Produkcja zindywidualizowanego wyrobu na życzenie jednostkowego klienta wiąże się nie tylko z problemem utrzymania ciągłości działalności systemu produkcyjnego, ale też ze szczególną organizacją procesu produkcyjnego. Może to spowodować zwiększenie ryzyka, którego skalę można ocenić, prowadząc analizę porównawczą. Autorzy ukazują zakłócenia wynikające w systemie produkcyjnym przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjnego o wysokim stopniu kastomizacji, a także przedstawiają wpływ na założone plany produkcyjne. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań zaprezentowano kategorie zakłóceń raportowanych jako tzw. czasy nieplanowane, a także ich odsetek w kontekście działalności systemu produkcyjnego i potencjalne przyczyny.
The production of an individualized product at the request of an individual customer is associated not only with maintaining the continuity of the production system, but also with the proper organization of the production process. The authors show the disturbances resulting from the production system of a manufacturing company with a high degree of customization, and also present the impact on the planned production plans. As a result of the research, the categories of disturbances reported as so-called unplanned times, as well as their percentage in the context of the production system’s operation and potential causes.

In the paper, definitions and theoretical results on system operations process, multi-state system reliability, risk and availability modelling are illustrated by the example of their application to a bulk cargo transportation system operating in Gdynia Port Bulk Cargo Terminal. The bulk cargo transportation system is considered in varying in time operation conditions. The system reliability structure and its components reliability functions are changing in variable operation conditions. The system reliability structures are fixed with a high accuracy. Whereas, the input reliability characteristics of the bulk cargo transportation system components and the system operation process characteristics are not sufficiently exact because of the lack of statistical data. Anyway, the obtained evaluation may be a very useful example in simple and quick systems reliability characteristics evaluation, especially during the design and improving the transportation systems operating in ports.

Basic concepts of the safety analysis of ageing multistate systems are introduced. The system components and the system multistate safety functions are defined. The mean values and variances of the multistate systems’ lifespans in the safety state subsets and the mean values of their lifespans in the particular safety states are defined. The multistate system risk function and the moment of exceeding the critical safety state are introduced. A series safety structure and a parallel-series safety structure of the multistate systems with ageing components are defined and their safety functions are determined. The multistate system safety models are applied to the prediction of safety characteristics of a maritime ferry.

W ramach artykułu przedstawiono znaczenie ryzyka operacyjnego związanego z efektywną realizacją procesu produkcji. Z punktu widzenia klienta stanowi ona wartość rynkową przejawiającą się procesem zakupu bądź jego brakiem. Zauważonymi problemami są przede wszystkim luki wiedzy w zakresie pomiarów efektywności procesu produkcji oraz świadomego zarządzania ryzykiem w nim. W efekcie autorzy poczynili próbę identyfikacji czynników wpływających na efektywność, jak i na ryzyko wystąpienia zakłóceń w procesie produkcyjnym.
The article presents the importance of operational risk associated effectively from of the production process. The client evaluates the market value of the purchase process, or lack thereof. Noticed the problem is primarily a gap of knowledge in the field of measuring the production process efficiency and conscious risk management. As a result, the authors have made an attempt to identify the influence of the factors affecting the efficiency and the risk of disturbances in the production process.

A key contributor to corporate operations security is the availability of resources with provisions for replacement / substitution in an acceptable period of time in the event of shortage. This paper looks into three management approaches. Each has already been put into practice and well-known as well as bearing on business resource planning, which is considered by the author to complement one another and even be ready for combined use. These are the following the Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II), the Business Continuity Management (BCM) and the traditional Process Management (process design and control). Highest importance is attached here to security of business processes as well as, or instead of, optimization calculations. The integration and common application of extended MRP II and reinterpreted BCM can provide new opportunities in process management.
Kluczowym czynnikiem przyczyniającym się do bezpieczeństwa operacji korporacyjnych jest dostępność zasobów wraz z procedurami dotyczącymi wymiany / zamiany w dopuszczalnym okresie czasu, w przypadku niedoborów. W artykule rozważa się trzy podejścia do zarządzania. Każde z nich zostało już wdrożone w praktyce i jest dobrze znane, a także ma wpływ na planowanie zasobów biznesowych, które autorzy uważają za wzajemnie uzupełniające się, a nawet możliwe do łącznego wykorzystania. Są nimi: planowanie zasobów wytwórczych (MRP II), zarządzanie ciągłością działania (BCM) i tradycyjne zarządzanie procesami (projektowanie i kontrola procesów). Największe znaczenie przywiązuje się do bezpieczeństwa procesów biznesowych, jak również do obliczeń optymalizacyjnych. Integracja i powszechne zastosowanie rozszerzonego systemu MRP II i ponownie zinterpretowanego zarządzania ciągłością działania, może zapewnić nowe możliwości w zarządzaniu procesami.

The probabilistic estimation of risk of the sharp professional disease (poisoning) of workers of agriculture, using different poisonous chemicals in a technological process, is conducted. The most meaningful productive factors, influencing on the origin of the nearaccident, related to possibility of poisoning of workers applying these substances, are certain.

NIK’s work plans for the years 2012–2016 were developed with consideration to certain social and economic conditions in the country’s economic and social development. Financial stability was considered the basic factor that allows for improving the citizens’ living conditions. In the course of formulating these conditions, two stages can be identified. During the first stage, in the years 2012–2013, focus was placed on the issues related to, among others, the budget deficit, infrastructure, business environment, national education, professional activity of the citizens, demography, research and development activities and the citizens’ security. At the other stage, comprising the years 2014-2015, the focus was on the issues related to improving the citizens’ living conditions and effective public assets management, national education and medical care. In that period, significant changes took place with regard to the development of annual work plans.

The level of de gradation of reinforced concrete bridges was evaluated based on the in-situ measurements performed on five reinforced concrete bridges under service located in the Czech Republic. The combined effect of carbonation and chlorides with respect to the corrosion of steel reinforcement, namely the pH and the amount of water-soluble chlorides, were evaluated on drilled core samples of concrete. Based on these parameters, the ratio between the concentrations of Cl- and OH, which indicates the ability of concrete to protect reinforcement, was calculated. All the data were statistically summarized and the relationships among them were provided. The main goal of this study is to evaluate the non-proportional effect of the amount of chlorides per mass of concrete on the risk of corrosion initiation and to localize the “critical” locations in the bridges that are the most affected by the degradation effects.

Opis:
A significant factor related to investment processes, particularly with reference to railway traffic control systems, is risk. Taking any investment-related decision entails a risk. For this reason, it is necessary to assess the gravity of risk related to the investment process. The article presents selected risks in investment processes which encompass the development of railway traffic control systems. The survey results which show risks at various stages of the investment process are discussed. Additionally, actions aimed at eliminating such risks are suggested.

The relationships and main strategies established among the medical specializations involved in this process will be investigated. The theoretical basis was drawn from medical sociology, in particular, from the social constructivist approaches, which highlight the relation between medical power and knowledge in the construction of medical decision-making. I attempt to elucidate the processes of negotiation through which a medical decision is constructed. The research methodology included non-participant observation and semi-structured interviews with participants from the two medical specializations of interest: liver surgeons and hepatologists. The management of risk and uncertainty in relation to patients’ access to liver transplantation is discussed and the strategic alliances that are formed during medical decision-making in search of consensus are investigated. The research findings show that medical practices and knowledge do not converge linearly to produce a coherent network of actions with a view to decision-making. Instead, medical decision-making is constructed through complex processes of negotiation. The different natures and levels of uncertainty and indetermination that are inherent in the social world of medicine have a fundamental influence on medical decision-making.

In this paper, we examine key factors that influence the risks of investment in the development of human capital of a firm in the IT sector and estimate their weight in the overall risk. In particular, we single out the risk of premature voluntary termination of an employee, the risk of ineffective training, and the risk of a firm’s incorrect employee development strategy. Moreover, to support management of the mentioned kinds of risks, we enumerate the factors that influence them and classify those factors into three main groups: related to the employee, related to the firm, and related to the external environment. Based on this division, we build a model for estimating the risks of investing in the development of personnel using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP).
