A ring $R$ is called a J(n)-ring if there exists a natural number $n \geq 1$ such that for each element $r \in R$ the equality $r^{n+1} = r$ holds and a weakly J(n)-ring if there exists a natural number $n \geq 1$ such that for each element $r \in R$ the equalities $r^{n+1} = r$ or $r^{n+1} = -r$ hold. In [5] it was shown that two number fields have isomorphic Witt rings of quadratic forms if and only if there is a Hilbert symbol equivalence between them. A Hilbert symbol equivalence between two number fields K and L is a pair of maps(t,T), where t: K ∗/K∗2→L∗/L∗2 is a group isomorpism and T: ΩK→Ω L is a bijection between the sets of finite and infinite primes of K and L, respectively, such that the Hilbert symbols are preserved: for any a; b∈K∗=K∗2and for any P∈ΩK,(a; b)P= (t(a), t(b))T(P) A Hilbert symbol equivalence between the field Q and itself is called rational self-equivalence. In [5] the authors present a construction of equivalence of two fields starting from the so called Hilbert small equivalence of two fields. We use this idea for constructing infinite set of rational self-equivalences.

We propose building a new PKC in a ring structure, the classification of rings being an open problem. The difficulty of the scheme is based on retrieving the eigenvalues of endomorphism on a finite type module over a non-commutative ring. It is resistant to a chosen cipher text attack. Working in the fraction ring of a non-commutative ring makes our scheme a zero-knowledge proof of knowledge, result indistinguishable, in the Naor-Yung model. Finally, a dramatic improvement in security is obtained through the drawing with uniform probability of the working ring at high frequency.

It is studied how rank two pure subgroups of a torsion-free Abelian group of rank three influences its structure and type set. In particular, the criterion for such a subgroup B to be a direct summand of a torsion-free Abelian group of rank three with the finite type set containing the greatest element which does not belong to the type set of B, is presented. Some results for nil groups and the square subgroup of a decomposable torsion-free Abelian group are also achieved. Moreover, new results for mixed Abelian groups supporting only associative rings are obtained. In particular, the first example of an Abelian group supporting only associative rings but not only commutative rings is given.

Opis:
A study of selected features of Shan Tong variety of plantation paulownia and its wood properties. The study was conducted on three-year-old and representative paulownia tree of the Shan Tong variety, from a plantation in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, Poland. The three-year-old paulownia tree was 4.2 m high and its diameter at butt level was of 11 cm. The tree provided material for the study from its three-year-old shoot, which was divided into three parts: leaves, branches and the main trunk. According to calculations, this typical paulownia tree (a three-year-old shoot) from a plantation accumulated 4.664 kg of carbon in the part above the ground level, which corresponds to the absorption of 17.101 kg of CO2 from the atmosphere. Taking into account the underground part of this plant, it can be estimated that it absorbed over 30 kg of CO2 (on average, ca. 10 kg CO2 per year). The density of paulownia wood in absolute dry state was ca. 250 kg/m3. The width of annual growth rings was ca. 1.5 cm. This kind of wood is highly porous, with porosity of about 85% (good thermal insulation), and at the same time it has favourable resistance properties characterized by the modulus of elasticity of 4.05 GPa.
Badanie wybranych cech paulowni odmiany Shan Tong i właściwości drewna. Plantacje szybko rosnących drzew uprawianych w krótkim cyklu zyskują na znaczeniu również w Polsce. Do badań pozyskano typowe drzewo paulowni (trzyletni odrost) odmiany Shan Tong z uprawy plantacyjnej w miejscowości Pilewice w woj. kujawsko-pomorskim. Drzewo to zakumulowało w części nadziemnej, w ciągu trzech lat wzrostu ponad 4,6 kg węgla, co odpowiada pochłonięciu ponad 17 tysięcy kg CO2 z atmosfery. Przeprowadzone analizy cech drewna paulowni jednoznacznie wskazują, że jest to materiał o znaczącym potencjale i możliwych zastosowaniach. Plantacyjne drewno juwenilne paulowni charakteryzuje się gęstością wynoszącą w stanie absolutnie suchym około 250 kg/m3 i wybitnie szerokimi przyrostami rocznymi o średniej szerokości wynoszącej prawie 1,5 cm. Jest to drewno o wysokiej porowatości rzędu 85% (dobrej izolacyjności termicznej), a przy tym o korzystnych, jak na niską gęstość, cechach wytrzymałościowych charakteryzowanych przez moduł sprężystości równy 4,05 GPa. Drewno to wykazuje też korzystne cechy akustyczne, predestynujące do użycia w instrumentach muzycznych. Ograniczeniem w potencjalnym zastosowaniu jest przede wszystkim nadal niewielka średnica trzyletniego pnia. Ograniczenie to, zakładając utrzymującą się dynamikę przyrostową na grubość, powinno zaniknąć po kilkunastu latach uprawy.

The height of the die roll, the distance of the V-ring, and the shear rate were varied with the aim of investigating the effects of the applied changes on the fine blanking line in a cold-rolled and a pickled steel sheet, referred to as SCP-1 and SHP-1, respectively. Both materials consisted primarily of a ferrite phase with small amounts of impurities including F, Mn, and Cr. The distance was found to be a very important factor in controlling the shear of the V-ring in the fine blanking process. When the position of the V-ring was set at distances of 1.5 mm and 2 mm, the die roll height increased with increasing shear speeds from 6.4 m/min to 10 and 16 m/min. Analysis of the influence of the shear rate revealed that low rates resulted in the lowest die roll heights since the flow of material was effectively inhibited.

In this paper, we define a new graph for a ring with unity by extending the definition of the usual 'zero-divisor graph'. For a ring R with unity, Γ₁(R) is defined to be the simple undirected graph having all non-zero elements of R as its vertices and two distinct vertices x,y are adjacent if and only if either xy=0 or yx=0 or x+y is a unit. We consider the conditions of connectedness and show that for a finite commutative ring R with unity, Γ₁(R) is connected if and only if R is not isomorphic to ℤ₃ or $ℤ₂^k$ (for any k ∈ ℕ-{1}\). Then we characterize the rings R for which Γ₁(R) realizes some well-known classes of graphs, viz., complete graphs, star graphs, paths (i.e., $P_n$), or cycles (i.e., $C_n$). We then look at different graph-theoretical properties of the graph Γ₁(F), where F is a finite field. We also find all possible Γ₁(R) graphs with at most 6 vertices.

This paper is devoted to the study of algebraic properties of rings of continuous functions. Our aim is to show that these rings, even if they are highly non-noetherian, have properties quite similar to the elementary properties of noetherian rings: we give going-up and going-down theorems, a characterization of z-ideals and of primary ideals having as radical a maximal ideal and a flatness criterion which is entirely analogous to the one for modules over principal ideal domains.

The data handling of hydraulic tests results of columns packed with dumped Pall rings and comparison of gas pressure drop for dry and wetted packings loading points and flooding points with columns packed with the ring-structured leaf packing PSL have been performed in this paper. Advantages of ring-structured packings compared to dumped packings are listed as well.

Tematyka publikacji dotyczy zagadnień i badań związanych ze zjawiskiem strat ładunku w postaci przedmuchów gazów do skrzyni korbowej przez układ tłok – pierścienie – cylinder (TPC) silników spalinowych. Analizowany problem dotyczy oceny możliwości ruchów i przemieszczeń pierścieni uszczelniających, co w największym stopniu wpływa na wartość natężenia przedmuchów. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań silników zauważono, że zjawisko przedmuchów zależy od wielu parametrów konstrukcyjnych, jak i eksploatacyjnych tłokowego silnika spaliowego. Przeprowadzony zakres badań potwierdził wpływ tych parametrów na ruchy pierścieni i na zjawisko przedmuchów.
The subject of the publication concerns issues and research related to the phenomenon of cargo losses in the form of gusts of crankcase gases through the piston-ring-cylinder (PRC) of internal combustion engines. The analyzed problem concerns the evaluation of the movement and displacement of the sealing rings, which has the greatest effect on the purge rate. As a result of engine tests, it has been observed that the blow-by phenomenon is influenced by many constructional and operational parameters of the piston-type combustion engine. The scope of the study confirmed the influence of these parameters on the ring motions and on the blow-by phenomenon.

The article is devoted to an attempt at analyzing the symbolist drama by Lydia Zinovieva-Annibał Кольца (The Wedding Rings) in connection with the image of woman created in it. The writer creates a woman renouncing what restricts her (individualism, egoism) and trying to rise to what is universal, to achieve freedom in this way. The protagonist is the incarnation of beauty, good and love, understood in the spirit of Plato’s philosophy as an androgynic unity. The poet polemicizes with Plato’s idea, showing that such a love restricts humans and becomes a prison for them. The title wedding rings constitute that kind of a feeling. Giving her husband up to another woman, the protagonist wants to open herself to the cosmic love, to the ocean of love in this way and regain freedom. However, she turns out to be unprepared and too weak for that freedom. She manages to open her soul, but her heart still remains trapped in the circle of her love towards her husband.
