Systemy sterowania i nadzoru (SSiN) wdrażane jako rozbudowane układy telemechaniki są w obiektach Krajowego Systemu Elektroenergetycznego od lat '90 ubiegłego wieku. Potrzeby wynikające z obowiązku zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa energetycznego oraz wysokiej dyspozycyjności sieci determinują szerokie wdrożenie nowoczesnych systemów telemechaniki zapewniających pozyskiwanie informacji i danych niezbędnych do wykonywania zdalnych sterowań i nadzoru. Zastosowane rozwiązania konstrukcyjne i technologiczne dla SSiN gwarantują wysoki poziom dyspozycyjności systemów oraz nadzorowanych i sterowanych obiektów energetycznych. Dla uzyskania wysokiej sprawności układów zdecydowano o powszechnym zastosowaniu standardu IEC 61850, coraz powszechniej stosowanego przez energetykę zawodową na świecie.
A project of Substation Control System (SCS) implementation in power substations of the national HV (220 and 400 kV) power transmission grids results from the main needs of new methods for asset management. The requirements are based on ensuring the transmission system energy safety as well as the high operational reliability and availability of the grid elements. Reliable operational, maintenance and technical information in real time on power substations and power lines gives many possibilities for increase in the level of using the power assets and for the safe remote control of power system elements. System Operator in Poland accepted the international standard IEC 61850 for new implementation of SCS in own HV power substations. Additionally, the system operator defined many own standards for determining the requirements concerning construction, functions, telecommunication and other technical problems for HV power substations and also for SCS components. These standards deal with the main requirements and typical solutions for building and modernisation of power substations. The paper presents the main assumptions and general effects of the project implemented, general technical requirements and the structure of the proposed technical solutions, general organisational conditions for new methods in operation process of power HV substations and the main advantages of this implementation.

The transformer is the key equipment for electric power transmission. It has been found that main transformer failures require an in-depth assessment because of the high failure frequency and the resultant reliability and safety implications. Transformers are considered as a critical equipment because of the large quantity of oil in contact with high voltage elements. In particular, experience has shown an increasing number of transformer explosions and fires in all types of power plants worldwide. Therefore, these phenomena have been investigated and are discussed in more detail in this paper with regard to causes for these events, potential influence of the age of the transformers and possible diagnostic measure in order to avoid such events. For that purpose different types of databases have been evaluated.

The article describes a shock safety modeling method for low-voltage electric devices, based on using a Bayesian network. This method allows for taking into account all possible combinations of the reliability and unreliability states for the shock protection elements under concern. The developed method allows for investigating electric shock incidents, analysing and assessing shock risks, as well as for determining criteria of dimensioning shock protection means, also with respect to reliability of the particular shock protection elements. Dependencies for determining and analysing the probability of appearance of reliability states of protection as well as an electric shock risk are presented in the article.

This article addresses current issues concerning the risk analysis and functional safety management. Some cost-benefit analysis methods (CBA) are presented oriented on optimizing the safety-related solutions on example of functional safety technologies reducing risk based on programmable systems E/E/PE (PN-EN 61508) and SIS (PN-EN 61511). The importance of safety-related criteria, such as tolerability of risk (TOR) in the context of cost-benefit analysis (CBA), is emphasized to reach rational decisions as regards safetyrelated solutions to be sufficiently reliable, safe and preferably economically justified.

The article presents a shock safety model of an indirect contact with a low-voltage electric device. This model was used for computations and analyses concerning the following: the probabilities of appearance of the particular shock protection unreliability states, electric shock states (ventricular fibrillation), contributions of the unreliability of different shock protection elements to the probability of occurrence of these states, as well as the risk of electric shock (and the shock safety), and contributions of the intensity of occurrence of damages to different shock protection elements to this risk. An example of a possibility to reduce the risk of an electric shock through changing the intensity of occurrence of damages to the selected protection elements was provided.

The article presents the concept of how to assess the future state of the organization in the area of using and maintenance of technical means, basing on the combination of "classic" prognostic model with models �] components of the selected computer tools. Presentation of this concept was preceded by the definition and characteriti.cs of maintenance key performance indicators. It also presents a requirements and method of KPIs selection.
W artykule dotyczącym metod i technik prognozowania wartości kluczowych wskaźnikow efektywności obsługi (ang. Key Performance Indicators) zdefiniowano i sklasyfikowano te wskaźniki. Przedstawiono wymagania oraz sposob doboru wskaźnikow KPI. Dokonano przeglądu, a takie scharakteryzowano metody i techniki prognozowania stanu organizacji utrzymania ruchu. Przedstawiono koncepcji wykorzystania wybranych metod i narzędzi gromadzenia oraz przetwarzania danych dla potrzeb prognozowania tego stanu.

The implementation of Eurocodes in place of previously existing national standards for structural design introduces a new system for the control of structural safety. This article describes actions oriented towards structural quality which ensure the safety of a structure in process terms, namely in terms of the application of suitable supervision and control procedures throughout the construction process, in accordance with the requirements of the Eurocodes.

Artykuł przedstawia uzyskane wyniki badań dotyczące wyposażenia gospodarstw domowych w wybrane rodzaje sprzętu ICT. Przedstawiono również wpływ na badane wskaźniki (ocena współzależności cech) dwóch czynników: dochodu netto na 1 osobę oraz typu miejsca zamieszkania. Prezentowane badania mogą być wykorzystane do budowy indeksów rozwoju społeczeństwa informacyjnego w badanych powiatach i porównań z innymi obszarami.
Recently, along with the increase of the role of various social media, a new trend in the field of software design appeared – gamification, which main goal is to increase the user engagement while working with the software. By definition, gamification means using the mechanics and techniques known from various kinds of games (including board games, role-playing or computer games) in order to increase user’s involvement in performing various types of activities in non-gaming context, especially if those activities are considered boring or routine. Gamification is an interesting trend, which – if applied correctly – many have a positive impact on both improving the user experience and his commitment into performing the task. However, gamification cannot be treated as a remedy for all the problems of user-application relationships. Poorly designed application or its interface can significantly affect the user (player) willingness to participate in (use) it. This article is an attempt to analyse this phenomenon, especially concerning its usage in building public use applications.

One of the most challenging research fields in which research community has taken a very active role is focused on trying to bring the features of wireless networks into line with the traditional wired solutions. Given the noisy and lossy nature of the wireless medium, it is more difficult to provide a comparable Quality of Service (QoS) and Reliability over wireless networks. This lack of reliability avoids the use of wireless solution in scenarios under harsh environment and mission-critical applications. In this paper we propose an inter-node collaborative schema with the aim of improving the achievable QoS level for multicast streaming, through the use of Network Coding and the algebra it is based on. We also present an implementation of the described algorithm on the OPNET discrete event simulation tool. Experimental results highlighting the performance achieved by the proposed algorithm and its improved efficiency as compared to other solutions are described.

Software reliability prediction is very important to minimize cost and improve software development effectiveness, especially in a spacecraft’s software system. In this paper, a new spacecraft software system reliability definition is given and a new reliability prognostics-oriented life cycle integrated system health management for a spacecraft software system is focused on. Adaptive genetic algorithms are then combined with a support vector machine to build an adaptive genetic algorithm support vector machine reliability prediction model. This model attempts to overcome the genetic algorithm weaknesses, such as the local minima and premature convergence problems, and solves the parameter selection difficulties often encountered in a support vector machine. After construction, the proposed adaptive genetic algorithm support vector machine model is employed to predict the reliability of a spacecraft software system. Finally, a numerical example is given to show how the proposed approach has a superior prediction performance compared to a standard support vector machine and artificial neural network.
Przewidywanie niezawodności oprogramowania odgrywa ważną rolę w minimalizowaniu kosztów i poprawie efektywności tworzenia oprogramowania, zwłaszcza w odniesieniu do systemów oprogramowania statków kosmicznych. W niniejszej pracy, podano nową definicję niezawodności systemu oprogramowania statku kosmicznego koncentrując uwagę na opartym na prognozowaniu niezawodności oraz cyklu życia modelu zintegrowanego zarządzania kondycją systemu opracowanego dla systemu oprogramowania statku kosmicznego. Skonstruowano następnie model przewidywania niezawodności oparty na połączeniu adaptacyjnych algorytmów genetycznych oraz maszyny wektorów nośnych. Model ten stanowi próbę przezwyciężenia słabości algorytmów genetycznych, takich jak problem minimów lokalnych czy problem przedwczesnej zbieżności, a także rozwiązania trudności związanych z doborem parametrów, jakie często występują przy zastosowaniu maszyny wektorów nośnych. Skonstruowany model opartej na adaptacyjnym algorytmie genetycznym maszyny wektorów nośnych zastosowano do przewidywania niezawodności systemu oprogramowania statku kosmicznego. Wreszcie, przedstawiono przykład liczbowy, który pokazuje że opracowany model charakteryzuje się wyższą dokładnością prognozowania w porównaniu do standardowej maszyny wektorów nośnych oraz sztucznej sieci neuronowej.

Odpowiedzi na te pytania, ulokowane w sferze uwarunkowań prawnych, technologicznych - wraz z oceną poziomu zaawansowania i niezawodności obecnych instalacji, logistycznych - z oceną wyboru koncepcji regionalnych, możliwości współspalania osadów w energetyce i przemyśle cementowym, a także w aspektach finansowo-ekonomicznych, autor będzie poszukiwać w ramach niniejszej publikacji.
Legally binding ban on landfilling of municipal sewage sludge in effect from the beginning of 2016 shall significantly change the national sewage sludge management scene. For a few years now thermal sewage sludge treatment methods such as drying, incineration and co-incineration have been gaining an increasing attention. Will they, however, fill the gap after the landfilling ban? What is the actual, current potential of thermal treatment methods, and what will it be as of 2016? The present paper seeks to answer those questions located in the sphere of legal conditions, technological conditions, including assessment of advancement and reliability of today’s plants, logistic conditions with assessment of regional concepts, possibilities of incinerating sewage sludge by the power industry and cement industry as well as financial and economic aspects.

In addition, noted the impact of electricity grid structure on the value of the currently used indicators of reliability.

The integration of reliability activities into companies with regard to company size and industry has not been quantitatively determined. Methodology: An international survey drawing upon literature was applied. Evaluations are based on descriptive and inductive statistics. Results: The empirical study reveals reasons for applying reliability management in industry, the extent of applied reliability methods and performed reliability actions to achieve reliability objectives and used reliability data. The results are differentiated according to company size and industry. Research implications: The results of this study are applicable to companies which have already dealt with reliability issues. Further studies should consider a cross-section status of reliability implementation in industry, as well as they should contain extended actions and methods of reliability. Value of paper: This research relates to the status of reliability management implementation in international industry. There are shown significant differences in industries and company size. The results show potentials in reliability management and can be used as benchmark.

W artykule zaprezentowano rodzaje diagnostyki technicznej niezawodności przenośników taśmowych. Wskazano najczęstsze powody awarii oraz zaproponowano sposób oceny niezawodności tego elementu odstawy urobku w polskich kopalniach węgla kamiennego przy wykorzystaniu narzędzi zarządzania jakością.
The article presents the types of technical diagnostics reliability of conveyor belts. The most common reasons for failure were indicated and a method for assessing the reliability of the element haulage in Polish coal mines with the use of quality management tools was proposed.
