    Article is an attempt to show, how the teacher of Polish language can discuss interesting contemporary books during lessons with students. The author describes how the students see the book written by Monika Sznajderman “Falsifiers of pepper”. She described her classes when students were working with essays of Roland Barthes and Wojciech Nowicki about photography, to deepen the reception of family story, which is shown by Monika Sznajderman in her work. The presented academic classes have become the starting point for student educational projects.

    Artykuł jest analizą porównawczą motywu łez w trzech tłumaczeniach utworu He-inricha Hoffmanna Struwwelpeter na język polski. Celem była interpretacja zgromadzonych danych (wskazujących, że wyrazy związane z motywem łez występują we wszystkich prze-kładach zdecydowanie częściej niż w oryginale) i powiązanie ich z opisanymi w badaniach wcześniejszych, zwłaszcza w pracach Joanny Dybiec-Gajer, strategiami polskich tłumaczy utworu. Ich wybory leksykalne i składniowe oraz zastosowane amplifikacje i przekształcenia wskazują na ścisłe powiązanie kontekstów, w których pojawia się motyw łez, z ogólnymi cechami danego przekładu/adaptacji, w szczególności z tendencją do akcentowania funkcji dy-daktycznej lub ludycznej, a z drugiej strony – z projektowanymi reakcjami czytelnika dziecię-cego: od strachu, poprzez empatię – do lektury „z przymrużeniem oka”. W artykule zostały także skrótowo zaprezentowane dzieje zbioru Struwwelpeter w Polsce w ciągu 160 lat od pierwszego, anonimowego wydania książki pod tytułem Złota różdżka, a także najważniejsze wątki polskich badań nad utworem. Zasygnalizowano także funkcjonujące w literaturze przedmiotu i krytyce literackiej w Polsce interpretacje Struwwelpetera i Złotej różdżki oraz opisywany w tym kontekście problem utożsamienia przekładu (będącego w istocie adaptacją) z oryginałem.
    The paper makes a comparative analysis on the theme of tears in three Polish translations of Heinrich Hoffmann’s Struwwelpeter. The aim is to interpret the collected data (words related to the theme of tears appear significantly more often in all translations than in the original) and to compare them with the strategies of Polish translators described in earlier research, especially in the studies of Joanna Dybiec-Gajer. The choices made by trans-lators in the field of lexis and syntax, as well as the applied amplifications and transformations, indicate a close connection of the contexts in which the theme of tears appears with the general features of the translation / adaptation, in particular with the tendency to emphasize the didactic function or to encourage reading for pleasure. While, on the other hand, there is an indication the choices made deal with projected reactions of the child reader’s fear, through empathy to non-serious reading. The article also presents briefly the history of Struwwelpeter’s publications in Poland in the 160 years since the first, anonymous edition of the book entitled Złota różdżka, as well as the most important threads of Polish research on the work. The interpretations of Struwwelpeter and Złota różdżka that have appeared in Polish sources and literary criticism are also mentioned as well as the problem of identifying the Polish translation (which is in fact an adaptation) with the original.
    Der Artikel ist eine vergleichende Analyse des Motiv des Weinens in drei Übersetzungen von Heinrich Hoffmanns Struwwelpeter ins Polnische. Ziel war es, die gesammelten Daten zu interpretieren (was darauf hindeutet, dass Wörter, die sich auf das Motiv des Weinens beziehen, in allen Übersetzungen deutlich häufiger vorkommen als im Original) und sie mit den Strategien polnischer Übersetzer der in früheren Studien beschriebenen Arbeiten, insbesondere der Arbeiten von Joanna Dybiec-Gajer, in Verbindung zu bringen. Ihre lexikali-schen und syntaktischen Entscheidungen und die angewandten Ausschmückungen und Transformationen deuten auf einen engen Zusammenhang mit den Kontexten, in denen das Motiv des Weinens erscheint, und den allgemeinen Merkmalen einer bestimmten Übersetzung/Adaption hin, insbesondere mit der Tendenz, die didaktische oder verspielte Funktion zu betonen, und andererseits mit den projizierten Reaktionen des kindlichen Lesers: von Angst über Empathie bis hin zur Lektüre „mit einem Augenzwinkern“. Der Artikel stellt auch kurz die Geschichte der Sammlung Struwwelpeter in Polen über 160 Jahre seit der ersten, anonymen Veröffentlichung des Buches mit dem Titel Złota różdżka sowie die wichtigsten Stränge der polnischen Forschung zu diesem Werk vor. Zudem wird über die Interpretationen von Struwwelpeter und Złota różdżka berichtet, die in der polnischen Literatur und Lite-raturkritik funktionieren, sowie über das in diesem Zusammenhang beschriebene Problem der Gleichsetzung der Übersetzung (die in Wirklichkeit eine Adaption ist) mit dem Original.

    Artykuł poświęcony jest funkcjonowaniu kategorii przyjemności lekturowej oraz jej wariantów w rodzimym dyskursie krytycznoliterackim. Autor przypomina w zarysie koncepcje lektury afektywnej w myśli Rolanda Barthes’a, opierając się przede wszystkim na głośnych esejach Od dzieła do tekstu oraz Przyjemność tekstu; rekonstruuje także przekonania wyrażone przez Jana Błońskiego w programowym eseju Romans z tekstem. Stawia tezę, że ujęcia te od lat 60. XX wieku zdążyły stać się domyślnymi punktami odniesienia w postrzeganiu kategorii przyjemności w polskiej krytyce literackiej, mimo że często pojmowane są w sposób intuicyjny.
    The article is devoted to the category of readerly pleasure and its variants in Polish critical and literary discourse. The author discusses the category of readerly pleasure developed by Roland Barthes, primarily in his famous essays “From Work to Text” and The Pleasure of the Text; he also reconstructs Jan Błoński’s views expressed in the programmatic essay Romans z tekstem [Love affair with the text]. The author argues that since the 1960s these approaches have become default points of reference in the perception of the category of pleasure in Polish literary criticism, even though they are often understood in an intuitive way.

Przeciwstawiając sobie czytelnika, podążającego za główną linią opowieści, a zatem zanurzonego w akcję, temu odbiorcy, który się zatrzymuje, by przyglądać się detalom skrytym w fałdach utworu, widzi w tym drugim kogoś, kto w pełni odczuwa literacki sens. Kogoś, kto w dziele potrafi zauważyć analogon życia.
    The article is an expression of appreciation for a way of reading that notices the smallest elements in a text, and the richness of the world it portrays. By comparing the reader who follows the main line of action in a story, and therefore goes with its rapid flow, to the reader who instead frequently pauses to look at those details that have been hidden in the folds of a work, the author acknowledges the latter as the one who fully grasps and enjoys the literary sense: someone who sees the work of literature as a faithful representation of life.

Powstały z zestawienia amalgamat kognitywny ujawnił aktualność powieści: drapieżność procesów ekonomicznych, podziały społeczne i ludzką potrzebę miłości.
    The series of lessons related to Lalka by B. Prus (1890) and the film Jobsby J.M. Stern (2013) showed that the film can deepen the understanding of the characters, as well as the mechanisms of the world presented in the literature and film watched by the students. The juxtaposition of Wokulski and Jobs in the students’ mind underlined the nobility of the first one and market mechanism of contemporary corporation of Jobs. The resulting cognitive amalgam revealed the timeliness of the novel: the rapacity of economic processes, social divisions and the human need for love.

    The title of the essay refers to the famous statement in Foucaults introduction to his History of Madness where he writes that “we have to do justice to Freud“. The problem, however, is that Foucault’s philosophy does not seem to do justice to Freud. Foucault’s use of Freud is ambiguous: sometimes he uses him for purely instrumental purposes (when reconstructing the history of madness and sexuality), but sometimes-for anthropological purposes signaling Freud’s role in redefining our common humanity and particularly our relation to language, life and work. The author confronts Foucault’s ambiguous reading of Freud with the equally ambiguous reading of Foucault by Derrida. Derrida discusses Foucault twice. Once in the essay Cogito and The History of Madness in which Derrida takes on Foucault’s understanding of Descartes and his role in the exclusion of madness from the realm of reason. The second time-in his essay To Do Justice to Freud. Here Derrida disagrees with Foucault whether Freud managed to reestablish the body’s communication with reason which Descartes destroyed.

    In the first part of the article the author refers to opinions on the reasons for the decrease in readership among young people, including academic students. The development of new technologies, the Internet, and life focused mainly on the present moment do not encourage a reflection necessary to deal with a literary masterpiece. It is impossible to stop those changes in students’ attitude, which does not mean that we should give up proposing them texts to read, during classes of French history and culture. In the second part, the author shares her experience and thoughts conceived as a result of the analysis of source texts and song lyrics, foremost poetic ones.

    Opisując przyjemności oraz rozkosze czytania i pisania, Roland Barthes żongluje wielomodalnymi metaforami sensualnymi, angażując oraz splatając zmysły w synestezyjnym uścisku: słowa smakują, dotykają, przyprawiają o mdłości, rumienią się, podniecają. Tekst jest ciałem i czytanie jest cielesne. Doskonałym exemplum tak pojmowanej synestetycznej wrażliwości tekstu jest intersensualna proza Vladimira Nabokova. W krytyce oraz praktyce przekładu Nabokova, podobnie jak w translatologicznej koncepcji Douglasa Robinsona (The Somatics of Translation), to właśnie synestetycznie odczuwana materialność języka staje się kluczowym kryterium doboru leksykalnych oraz syntaktycznych środków w tłumaczeniu. W obu przypadkach synestezja okazuje się zasadą językowego instynktu tłumacza. Synestezja ukazuje się jako strategia językowej przyjemności, stanowiącej somatyczny impuls obcowania z tekstem. Barthes, Nabokov oraz Robinson wskazują na synestezyjne odczuwanie języka jako źródło translatorskiej intuicji, czytelniczej wrażliwości oraz tekstualnej przyjemności, pojmowanej jako integralna składowa doświadczeniowego wymiaru lektury oraz przekładu.
    In describing the delightful pleasures of reading and writing, Roland Barthes juggles multi-modal sensual metaphors, engaging and entangling the senses in a synaesthetic embrace: words have flavour, a texture, making us giddy, blush and aroused. A text is a body and reading a sensual experience: Barthes’ tactile, kinetic “gush of words*” becomes the basis for thinking, talking and taking action within language. Synaesthetic “patina of consonants, lustful vowels”, “(...) materiality, sensuality of breathing, rasping, softness of lips” becomes the foundation of readers’ and writers’ delight arising out of texts.
