Opis:
Aim/purpose – The aim of this article is to present the concept of a multicriteria model of process maturity assessment (MMPM), which allows to assess the degree of implementation of process solutions with respect to three dimensions: short-term, long-term and systemic. Design/methodology/approach – The characteristics of the model presented in the article was preceded by a review of the literature and the analysis of secondary research related to the assessment of the degree of implementation of elements of the process approach in management. Findings – As a result of the review of the literature and the analysis of secondary re-search, a thesis was formulated that quantitative research using the existing methodolo-gies for identifying the implementation of a process approach in management is insuffi-cient in the precise assessment of the organization’s process maturity. This means that they should be extended to include qualitative research. The solution to this problem may be the use of a multidimensional model of process maturity assessment of the organization. Research implications/limitations – The application of MMPM makes it possible to assess the degree of implementation of the process approach elements using the opinion poll method. This means that the results may be subject to random or non-random errors, depending on the selection technique of the research sample. At this point, it should also be emphasized that in order to provide a precision assessment of process maturity using the MMPM, the questions in the questionnaire should be adapted to the specifics of the area under examination. Originality/value/contribution – The scope of this article fills in the research gap that exists in terms of assessing the process maturity of the organization in the long run, understood as defining the direction of development, stagnation or atrophy of implementation of process solutions in the organization. The concept of the MMPM presented in the article makes it possible to assess process maturity in three dimensions: short-term, long-term and system-based. In addition, the structure of the model enables the reconfiguration of the research questionnaire with questions of a self-reinforcing character by the respondent to questions, enabling the assessment of the level of maturity on the basis of symptoms.

Opis:
Mining of longwalls ventilated by the „U” method is willingly applied in Polish coal-mines due to low costs of workings maintenance, low costs of ventilation and a lower fire threat because of a limited flow of air through goafs. However, such a way of ventilation may pose an increased risk of methane explosion. For this reason, the “U” ventilation has been limited in longwalls with methane risk. The mining regulations in force provide that ventilation methane-bearing capacity, i.e. the intensity of methane flow into the ventilation air cannot exceed 20 m3 CH4/min. The regulations also provide that in the event the absolute methane-bearing capacity, i.e. a sum of methane released to the ventilation air and captured by the methane drainage system is higher than 25 m3 CH4/min and the “U” method of ventilation is applied, the effectiveness of methane drainage should be minimum 50% in relation to the forecast absolute methane-bearing capacity. To streamline the process of ventilation near the junction of the longwall and the gallery carrying off the used air, auxiliary ventilation means are applied, such as a ventilation partition, a ventube – which supplies air without methane or with a low concentration of methane, injectors etc. Application of these means is limited by the cross-section of the heading carrying off the air from the longwall. Deformations of the ventilating roadway, which is usually located in the one-sided vicinity of goafs, may prevent the use of a ventilation partition, which has a negative influence on the conditions of ventilating the junction of the longwall and ventilating roadway. The author of the article also refers to such conditions, presenting average values and maximum concentrations of methane concentrations recorded with four methane concentration sensors, located in the vicinity of the junction of the longwall and ventilating roadway.

The paper attempts to demonstrate the role and importance of process modeling and reengineering logistics processes in the selected public administration organization. First, it presents the characteristics and selected rules of operation in the organization of public administration organizations in Poland. Next, it describes the concept of a systemic approach in management and reengineering idea, seen as structural, organizational and technical reconstruction of processes, which serves the achievement of improving their efficiency. Practical principles of modelling, analysis and reengineering processes are presented for example of selected logistic process in public administration organizations.

Opis:
The aim of the paper is to point out the principles of process management and selected quality management tools, which are aimed at improving the processes of the wood processing industries of the Slovak Republic. The knowledge from these areas is based on the analysis of the theoretical origins from domestic and foreign sources and supported by the results of the research carried out in the first half of the year 2017. In the processing of the results, classical methods of research work were used such as analysis, synthesis, comparison, descriptive statistics, contingency tables, chi-quadrat test and graphic depiction. Based on the analysis of the research results, there was a slight dependence between the process optimization levels in the timber industry and other process improvement methods such as statistical process control methods and graphical analysis and problem solving tools.

The following paper presents management aspects of aircraft exploitation process. The key element in planning connections network is including the necessity to perform technical services. The issue becomes complex when air carrier operates in a considerable number of airports whereas technical service can be effected only in few. It is important then to manage aircraft properly in order to achieve a high rate of technical efficiency.

Opis:
Torrefaction is a mild pre-treatment of biomass at the temperatures range from 200°C to 300°C. This report presents preliminary studies of torrefaction process for different types of raw material. A torrefied product has a brown/black colour, reduced moisture content, and increased heating value (HHV and LHV). It has favourable properties for application as a fuel for gasification and combustion.

Business Process Maturity Models (BPMM)
Opis:
The article is aimed at presenting the principles of Business Process Maturity Models (BPMM). They can be identified as a set of recommendations and good practices in achieving operational efficiency of performed processes. When process approach is a paradigm and according to available research organizations are becoming process – centric, the BPMM’s are beginning to be seen as the sources of sustainable competitive advantage and also a tool for obtaining operational excellence. As there is a very large number of documented maturity models the article also presents the results of literature study aiming at identify the most common existing models as well as present their main features and benefits.

Opis:
The stochastic processes theory provides concepts and theorems that allow to build probabilistic models concerning incidents or (and) accidents. Counting processes are applied for modelling number of the dangerous events and accidents number in Baltic Sea region ports in the given time intervals. A crucial role in construction of the models plays a Poisson process and its generalizations. Three models of the incidents or (and) accidents number in the seaports are here constructed. Moreover some procedures of the model parameters identification and the computer procedures for anticipation of the dangerous events number are presented in the paper.
