Opis:
Training of merchant vessels crew covers not only theoretical knowledge from a given field but also a lot of practical exercises. Simulators play a very important role here as they make it possible to create real life situations experienced at sea and the true behaviour of a vessel in different conditions. They enable demonstrating real actions taken during ship 's engine failure or during any other breakdown. Thanks to this the course participants and students can experience a variety of different situations which may happen both while operating the vessels during their routine work at sea or when something goes wrong or in distress situations. This article presents the simulators which are at Gdynia Maritime University used for training, their use and the prospective of their development. The author concentrated on presenting the significant role of simulators in the process of education and training of seafarers and officers both those from the deck and from the engine room departments. The simulator base is being constantly developed and sometimes the training employs only part of its possibilities and potential; wider use in the process of training may add a lot to increase the level of safety at sea.

W ramach swoich działań statutowych Rzeszowska Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego S.A. za-rządza strefami inwestycyjnymi, w których przedsiębiorcy z całego świata lokują swoje biznesy. Okazuje się, że w ostatnim czasie wielu z nich ma poważne problemy z młodymi pracownikami, którzy opuszczają mury uczelni i podejmują pierwszą pracę, trafiając do zespołów, które stanowią kopie amerykańskich, kanadyjskich, niemieckich, włoskich i innych działów firm macierzystych. Okazuje się, że model kształcenia na poziomie wyższym obecny w Polsce znacząco różni się od potrzeb współczesnych pracodawców. Celem artykułu jest próba ukazania zjawiska luki kompe-tencyjnej wśród polskich pracowników na przykładzie branży lotniczej i motoryzacyjnej.
To begin discussions about changes, the education system in Poland should certainly begin to reflect on this issue, from the question of whether the changes are necessary, more precisely, which elements of the education system do not keep pace with the needs of modern employers, or the answer to the question whether the system should be self-confident that it reforms towards the real needs of the labor market? The aim of the article will be an attempt to indicate the directions of changes in the education system in Poland.

The text presents partial results of research on theory and practice integration in future teachers’ undergraduate training. The aim was to find out respond- ents’ opinions on the level of theoretical and practical training integration in the processes of developing specific professional competences during study. Research tools consisted of a self-designed questionnaire and interviews (only partial questionnaire outputs are included because of limited content of study). The research sample was composed of 171 students of a master’s degree in teaching at three MBU1 teacher training faculties. The obtained data were processes by tools of descriptive and multi-dimensional statistics. Results indicate great discontent of the respondents with the low level of connection between theoretical and practical training in the processes of developing special professional competences during study and provide starting points for necessary system changes in the theoretical and professional practical training of future teachers.

The public service sector is a key target of cyberattacks. In order to prevent and effectively tackle such attacks, organisations should continuously develop their defence capabilities. As part of developing such capabilities, public service cybersecurity training is required to teach students about cyberattacks. The present study uses quantitative research techniques including (i) how to identify key requirements for the practical aspects of public service cybersecurity training and (ii) sampling to utilise international best practices from cybersecurity education and conceptual architectures from existing public service organisations. A schematic structure with a two-level practical training course is proposed. On the first level, the students learn about the defence mechanisms of their own info-communication devices and try to prevent attacks in a simulated environment. On the second level, the students apply protection strategies against cyberattacks in organisational infrastructure. Finally, a technical framework is defined to simulate cyberattacks against (a) personal devices and (b) a fictional organisational infrastructure. The specification of a public service cybersecurity training programme should not only focus on theoretical education but also provide practical knowledge to students. By simulating specific attacks, theoretical and practical knowledge can be combined. As a result, students will be able to recognise threats and potential risks from cyberspace.

W artykule zaprezentowano, jak studenci oceniają praktyczny wymiar kierunku ekonomia społeczna. W celu realizacji badania przedstawiono prawne aspekty opisujące praktyczny wymiar kształcenia oraz zapytano, w formie ankiety online, studentów kierunku ekonomia społeczna o opinię na temat praktycznego wymiaru studiowania. Badani odpowiadali na pytania związane z oceną programu studiów oraz ich zaangażowaniem w działania pozadydaktyczne. Poproszono ich także o rekomendacje związane z praktycznym kształceniem. Dopełnieniem badań były pytania odnoszące się do oczekiwań studentów względem wybranego kierunku, ogólnego zadowolenia ze studiów i określenia, jaki mają poziom wiedzy w porównaniu z początkiem studiów. Za największe braki w programie studiów badani uznali małą liczbę przydatnych w praktyce przedmiotów i niewystarczającą liczbę przedmiotów ekonomicznych. Duża część badanych - 38,3% - nie była też w stanie określić, czy jej oczekiwania dotyczące kierunku studiów zostały spełnione. Zdecydowana większość badanych określiła swój stan wiedzy jako większy niż przed rozpoczęciem studiów. Wyniki badań sugerują, że należałoby upraktycznić proces kształcenia oraz zwiększyć liczbę wizyt studyjnych. Jednak studenci, poza głównie pracą zawodową, nie podejmowali indywidualnej inicjatywy w zdobywaniu praktycznego doświadczenia - tylko niewielki ich odsetek angażował się w wolontariat i działania w kołach naukowych, również niewielka liczba studentów postulowała za zwiększeniem liczby praktyk zawodowych.
The article presents a students’ assessment of the practical dimension of Social Economy as a field of study. To conduct the research, legal aspects describing the practical dimension of education were presented and social economy students were asked about the practical dimension of studying. Respondents answered questions related to the evaluation of the study programme, their involvement in undertaking non-learning activities, and they were also asked for recommendation for practical education. Complementing the research were questions related to their expectations for the chosen studies, general satisfaction and determining the feeling of their level of knowledge compared to the beginning of studies. The respondents indicated a low number of practical subjects and an insufficient number of economic subjects as the most significant shortcomings in the study program. 38.3% of respondents were also unable to determine the satisfaction of expectations regarding the choice of Social Economy as a field of study. The vast majority described their state of knowledge to be higher than before the start of studies. Research suggests that more emphasis should be placed on practical training and increasing the number of study visits. However, apart from work, they do not undertake individual initiative in gaining practical experience as only a small percentage of them engage in volunteering and activities in scientific circle; also a tiny number postulates an increase in the number of internships.

The paper discusses the complexities of the professional training of music teachers in the system of continuous education. The formation of future professionals is considered on the basis of the subject-object interaction. The purpose of education is to improve the scope of continuous education; this will expedite the formation of the teaching staff capable of carrying out professional activities according to the democratic and humanistic principles. The implementation of the education policy is the priority function of the state aimed at the development and self-actualization of the individual. The authors carried out a long-term research on knowledge of providing premedical first aid amongst elementary school teachers in the past years. The research results showed, among the others, that more than 45% of accidents at schools happen during vocational training. On this basis, the authors decided to carry out a long-term (2019–2021) research verifying the level of selected pre-medical first aid competencies amongst educational professionals providing vocational education and practical training. The study aimed at finding out whether and to what extent the vocational education and practical training teachers are competent in providing layman’s first aid, to understand possible gaps in these competencies, and to establish corresponding training needs. At this moment, the study sample includes 325 teachers of vocational education and practical training at vocational schools, secondary vocational schools, or secondary and higher technical schools, with a varying level of teaching experience. A quantitative method was used (questionnaire) in the research. The respondents completed a questionnaire consisting of two parts. The first part focused on selected attitudes, opinions and experience in providing pre-medical first aid, and the second part contained a knowledge test. The results show that the highest number of respondents failed questions on how to stop bleeding and treat wounds. The respondents believe that these are the most frequent injuries during vocational education and practical training. Many respondents also failed questions on what to do in case of a knocked-out tooth (only 42% of correct answers), how to provide first aid in case of epileptic seizure (42% of correct answers), and how to provide first aid in case of hypoglycaemia (31% of correct answers) and asthma (35%). It is clear that the failures stated above might have been influenced by not being familiar with updated international recommended first aid procedures, which are updated every five years, and 53% of respondents do not receive a pre-medical first aid training where they could gain this information. Taking into account the sample size and continuation of the research, it is certainly not possible to draw any general conclusions on the presented research. The respondents themselves state that they feel quite uncertain about their knowledge and skills related to providing layman’s first aid. However, this situation can lead to a serious threat or damage to health and lives of students. The authors of this study realize that it is necessary to take very seriously every sign of incompetency, and that they can only be eliminated by systematic education based, in particular, on regular practical training sessions (acquiring practical skills) in small groups and a development of interactive materials on first aid. An annual training session within the OHS (occupational health and safety) system is evidently insufficient.
Autorzy przeprowadzili długoterminowe badanie dotyczące wiedzy z zakresu udzielania pierwszej pomocy przedmedycznej wśród nauczycieli szkół podstawowych w ciągu ostatnich lat. Wyniki badania pokazują, że m.in., 45% wypadków w szkołach miało miejsce podczas szkolenia zawodowego. Na tej podstawie autorzy zdecydowali się przeprowadzić długoterminowe badanie (2019–2021) weryfikujące poziom wybranych kompetencji z zakresu udzielania pierwszej pomocy przedmedycznej wśród specjalistów prowadzących kształcenie zawodowe i praktyczne. Badanie ma na celu ustalenie, czy i w jakim zakresie nauczyciele kształcenia zawodowego i praktycznego mają kompetencje w udzielaniu nieprofesjonalnej pierwszej pomocy, znalezienie potencjalnych luk w tych kompetencjach oraz określenie potencjalnych potrzeb szkoleniowych. Obecnie badana próbka obejmuje 325 nauczycieli kształcenia zawodowego i praktycznego w szkołach zawodowych, szkołach średnich zawodowych oraz średnich i wyższych szkołach technicznych o różnym poziomie doświadczenia w zakresie nauczania. W badaniu zastosowano metodę ilościową (kwestionariusz). Respondenci wypełniali formularz złożony z dwóch części. Pierwsza część koncentrowała się na wybranych postawach, opiniach i doświadczeniach z zakresu udzielania pierwszej pomocy przedmedycznej, a druga część zawierała test z wiedzy. Wyniki pokazują, że największa liczba respondentów nie udzieliła poprawnej odpowiedzi na pytania jak powstrzymać krwawienie oraz opatrywać rany. Respondenci uważają, że są to najczęstsze urazy występujące podczas szkolenia zawodowego i praktycznego. Wielu respondentów nie udzieliło również poprawnej odpowiedzi na pytania dotyczące postępowania w przypadku wybicia zęba (jedynie 42% poprawnych odpowiedzi), jak udzielić pierwszej pomocy przy wystąpieniu drgawek padaczkowych (42% poprawnych odpowiedzi) oraz jak udzielać pierwszej pomocy w przypadku hipoglikemii (31% poprawnych odpowiedzi) i astmy (35%). Jasnym jest, że wymienione powyżej nieprawidłowe odpowiedzi mogą być wynikiem nieznajomości zaktualizowanych międzynarodowych zalecanych procedur udzielania pierwszej pomocy, aktualizowanych co pięć lat, a 53% respondentów nie przeszło szkolenia z pierwszej pomocy, na którym mogliby uzyskać takie informacje. Biorąc pod uwagę wielkość próbki oraz kontynuację badania, na pewno nie jest możliwe wyciągnięcie ogólnych wniosków na temat przedstawionego badania. Sami respondenci twierdzą, że czują się dość niepewnie, jeżeli chodzi o ich wiedzę i umiejętności związane z udzielaniem nieprofesjonalnej pierwszej pomocy. Jednakże sytuacja ta może prowadzić do poważnego zagrożenia lub uszczerbku na zdrowiu i życiu uczniów. Autorzy niniejszego badania zdają sobie sprawę, że niezbędne jest bardzo poważne potraktowanie wszelkich oznak niekompetencji, a można je wyeliminować jedynie przez systematyczne kształcenie oparte, w szczególności na regularnych szkoleniach praktycznych (nabywanie umiejętności praktycznych) w małych grupach oraz opracowywaniu materiałów interaktywnych dotyczących pierwszej pomocy. Coroczne szkolenia w ramach BHP (bezpieczeństwo i higiena pracy) najwyraźniej nie wystarczają.
