Purpose – The aim of the article is an attempt to assess the approach of market participants to the sharing economy in the context of own empirical research against the background of surveys of agen-cies and other research centres. Research method – The implementation of the aim required the use of the direct method – question-naires. The research results from 2016-2020 are presented.Result – The obtained results of own research and the data taken from reports of other research centres do not give a clear answer to the question of how the sharing economy will develop in Poland. However, it seems that the growth will be inevitable. The only question is how dynamic the new eco-nomic model and the development of companies based on it will be. Originality / value / implications / recommendations – The publication describes the essence of the sharing economy, and also changes in consumption trends, which are more and more frequently encountered also in Poland. Fragments of own survey research from 2016-2020 involving the issue were presented. In the future, it is necessary to continue research in the marked area.

The objective of this article is to present a profession personal financial advisor in Poland against the background of an international perspective ( the USA, the United Kingdom and the EU). The main hypothesis of this article is as follows: personal financial planning in Poland is developing area and its role will be growing in the future, especially in the pension, investment, insurance and credits area, but this growth will depend on the growth of economic and financial literacy, the enrichment of Polish society and the creation of public confidence towards the personal financial advisor profession. The auxiliary hypothesis of the article is as follows: the main barriers in the development of the financial advisor profession in Poland are low financial knowledge/financial literacy, lack of awareness in the benefits of personal financial planning and advising, reluctance to pay for professional financial advice, low savings rate and lack of regular savings habit and the low level of advice services’ market regulation. Verification of the hypothesis will base on literature study and own study executed among independent personal financial advisors.

The article deals with the subject of measuring the effectiveness of personal finance management in the context of current dynamic changes in the socio-economic environment, primarily the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of the study is to diagnose the state of personal finances of Polish households in the period 2010–2021 and to assess the effectiveness of their management. The multidimensional analysis is based on indicators that take into account the economic, behavioral, social and systemic aspects of personal finance management. In order to make a comprehensive assessment, a composite indicator of the effectiveness of personal finances was constructed. The results show that Polish households are constantly improving the efficiency of personal finance management, and in 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic began, they showed the highest level of personal finance efficiency, e.g. thanks to a higher savings rate, lower expenses and less debt.

Opis:
The aim of the study was to compare, a posteriori, the probabilities (chances) of failure to achieve the level of aspiration (expressed in expected rates of return) on open-end debt investment funds (debt OEF), as well as the rates of return on bank deposits in Poland in light of different investment horizons. The data covered the periods of operation of each individual fund. The values for the probability of not achieving the level of aspiration (PNAL) have been calculated on the basis of empirical probability distributions of the rates of return on funds and bank deposits, obtained through the use of a rolling window of observation. Studies have shown the existence of a lower limit for the level of aspiration, the achievement of which is required in order for investment in a fund to be chosen over investment in a bank deposit. Based on research on the investment horizons which had, in the past, guaranteed the achievement of a given rate of return on a fund, both good and bad funds were identified. The results were largely influenced by the very high interest rate on bank deposits in Poland in the period 1995 – 2001 (in the case of the oldest funds) and by the boom on the Treasury bond market in 2011 – 2012 (for the youngest funds).

Opis:
The aim of the article is to analyse the structure of consumer behaviour models and their applications to financial behaviour. The paper is theoretical in nature, examining generational breakdowns and selected trends in consumer behaviour. An analysis of the ‚rules‘ significant for types of consumer behaviour is conducted. Despite recently intensified theoretical and empirical analysis of consumer behaviour, a coherent research approach that integrates the issue of consumer behaviour with the specificities of the financial-services market has not yet been developed. Models remain frail, their functionality is still insufficient, and their applicability is constantly being altered by influences on consumer behaviour, including macro and microeconomic factors and the influence of scientific fields such as economics, sociology, psychology, management and anthropology. This article attempts to create a model that takes into account the general factors adopted in models constructed so far, along with the assumption that economic, cultural, social, personal, experiences, and other factors play a role in shaping and stimulating at least five variables: type of consumer from a particular generation (Cy); type of financial products and services (Xy); motivation (My); capacity (Capy); and opportunities (Oy).

Celem głównym artykułu jest ocena efektywności zarządzania finansami gospodarstw domowych w największych polskich miastach. Dodatkowo, cel główny został uzupełniony o cele pomocnicze: adaptację ujęć efektywności w odniesieniu do funkcjonowania gospodarstwa domowego oraz propozycję modelu oceny efektywności zarządzania finansami gospodarstw domowych. Ponadto, podjęto próbę weryfikacji następującej hipotezy badawczej: Polskie gospodarstwa domowe charakteryzują się niskim poziomem efektywności zarządzania finansami, co jest skutkiem niskiego poziomu wiedzy i umiejętności z dziedziny finansów oraz braku kontroli nad posiadanymi narzędziami finansowymi. W ramach badań zostaną wykorzystane następujące metody badawcze: krytyczna analiza literatury przedmiotu, metoda badań dokumentów, metoda sondażu diagnostycznego (kwestionariuszowa), metoda badań porównawczych (komparatystycznych) oraz metody statystyczne.
The main objective of the paper is to evaluate household finance management effectiveness in the biggest Polish cities. As part of the conceptualization study, the following specific objectives are set: adaptation of effectiveness approaches in relation to households functioning and a proposition of household finance management effectiveness evaluation model. In addition, an attempt has been made to verify the following hypothesis (H): Polish households are characterized by low financial management effectiveness, which is a result of low level of financial literacy, as well as lack of financial control. Within the research framework, the following research methods have been used: a critical analysis of the literature on the subject, a document research method, diagnostic questionnaire method, comparative research method and statistical methods.

Research objective: The article attempts a diagnosis of the financial literacy and activity of consumers in aspects related to financial management, sources of financial knowledge, knowledge of the market offer of banks, and having their own account in the group of young consumers from the Lublin region. The research problem and methods: The group of young consumers constitutes one of the market’s largest and most developing consumer groups and is classified as a particularly vulnerable group. Our study was conducted on a random sample of 261 students aged 17–18 attending the second grade of grammar and technical secondary schools in selected poviats (counties) of the Lublin region, based on the criterion of population wealth. The process of argumentation: Based on the relevant literature and the quantitative survey. The collected data were analyzed using basic analysis methods (such as independence tests and correspondence analysis). Research results: The study showed that more than 70% of young people from the Lublin region have financial resources at their disposal. However, only 16.7% of them attempts to manage their own finances. More than half of them have a bank account, but the knowledge of the market offer targeted by banks at this target group is low. Statistical analyses showed an impact of the cultural capital represented by the mother’s education and place of residence on the financial activity of the youth. Conclusions, innovations, and recommendations: Young people are often unaware of the market offer addressed to them and rarely attempt to consciously manage their financial resources. Research shows that the young generation has limited opportunities to expand their financial knowledge and, consequently, implement reasonable financial practices. Simultaneously, young consumers are the most promising target group, especially in the context of an ageing society and the low loyalty of individual buyers.

Opis:
Research background: The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the reduction in income or the total loss of jobs have affected the financial behaviour of consumers worldwide. Managing the budget in times of turbulence and crisis has posed a challenge for households. Purpose of the article: The aim of the article is to determine to what extent the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the financial behaviour of the inhabitants of various countries and how Poland has stood out from the rest. Methods: Due to the orderly nature of the questions analysed, non-parametric tests were used in the analysis. The distribution of current expenditure in comparison with the period before the pandemic was analysed, as well as the results of comparative analyses with Mann-Whitney U tests for comparison of  Poland with Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France (974), Germany, Italy, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the USA. A study was carried out on the relationship between planning for the future, having debts and savings and financial behaviour after the COVID-19 pandemic and the metric variables in the group of Poles via Chi square and a series of ? Kendall?s tests. Findings & value added: There has been a fall in expenditure compared to the period before the pandemic, which may explain the lack of opportunities to spend money, the fall in revenue and the freezing of expenditure for fear of an uncertain future. There has also been a change in the way payments are made. Payment cards and purchases made over the Internet are increasingly popular. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, consumers are trying to save more, but not everyone can afford to do so. Long-term value added of this paper is analysis of change in the model of financial behavior of households under the shock of the pandemic in international comparisons of the analysed countries.

The appropriate level of financial knowledge and the degree of financial integration needed in today’s financialized world. This paper studies the level of financial literacy and the degree of financial inclusion among the students who study economic fields. These students are a special target group – very important for future development of financial markets. They are not only the future participants, but also the potential animators and creators of the financial market as well as the future financial advisors. The research sample comes from Visegrad Group countries (4V Countries), as the representatives from Central and Eastern Europe countries, where the level of financial literacy and degree of financial inclusion seems to be lower in comparison to the West European Countries. The research also contributes to knowledge in the area of expanding the methods of assessments of efficiency of financial education. The Authors decided to verify the new assessment of effectiveness of financial education. It will be conducted by a separate and simultaneous assessment of financial literacy and financial inclusion. The main results of research confirm the very low level of financial literacy and financial inclusion of young future economists in 4V Countries in both groups: starting and finishing the professional financial education. In addition, examining the degree of financial inclusion among the students who at the same time are educated at the basic level confirms the much lower level of informed financial inclusion.

In household financial planning two types of risk are typically being taken into account. These are life-length risk and risk connected with financing. In addition, also various types of events of insurance character, like health deterioration, are sometimes taken into account. There are, however, no models addressing stochastic nature of household financial goals. The last should not be confused with modelling factors that influence performance of financing the goals, which is a popular research topic. The problem of modelling goals themselves is, in turn, not so well explored. There are two main characteristics that describe a goal: magnitude and time. At least for some goals one or both of these characteristics may show a stochastic nature. This article puts forward a proposition of working goal time and magnitude into a household financial plan and taking their distributions into account when optimizing the plan. A model of two-person household is used. The decision variables of the optimization task are consumption-investment proportion and division of household investments between household members.

Opis:
When building a financial plan for a household, one usually needs to take many risk factors into account. These are the factors that have an influence on the shape of the future term structure of household incomes and expenditures. The factors may be of very differentiated nature, which means that their impact on the cash-flow term structure may be different both in terms of the underlying mechanism and strength. In this field of research, the existing literature does not provide, however, any proposals of integrated risk measurement. At the same time, the ability to measure risk of household financial plans in an integrated way would be very useful, as it would allow to select or compare plans with respect to the joint risk of a plan (to be more precise – the joint risk that the plan will fail to be successfully realized). The aim of this article is to propose a method or methods that would allow to measure financial plan risk in an integrated way. The integration should include different risk types, all financial goals that have been set by the household, all sources of financing and all sub-periods of the long-term life-cycle period of household financial planning. The approach, originally proposed by the authors of this article, may not only facilitate comparison of financial plans with respect to risk, but it may be also serve as a plan-acceptance decision-making instrument. Integrated risk measures may be also used within the very optimization procedure. They may be parts of the boundary conditions or even be embedded into the optimization function itself.
