Opis:
This paper presents the use of auditory occupancy grids (AOGs) for mapping of a mobile robot’s acoustic environment. An AOG is a probabilistic map of sound source locations built from multiple measurements using techniques from both probabilistic robotics and sound localization. The mapping is simulated, tested for robustness, and then successfully implemented on a threemicrophone mobile robot with four sound sources. Using the robot’s inherent advantage of mobility, the AOG correctly locates the sound sources from only nine measurements. The resulting map is then used to intelligently position the robot within the environment and to maintain auditory contact with a moving target.

The paper presents information of the project and the results of research on the problem of monitoring and management of information about occupancy of parking spaces in real time. The material draws attention the potential which, being properly used with adequate detection of the presence of selected technology and the desired transmission of information in graphic form for selected locations respectively in real time which will result in traffic that users will be more consciously decide on it's journey with the appropriate leads on the possibility of to reach the goal, as well as surrounding their existing infrastructure and the possibility of using public transport, The present level of knowledge and experience is realized in the framework of research and development project in score of ITS applications in response to the lack of consistency between multiple transport streams and the lack of their interaction on each other.

Opis:
Utilization of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces is a topic that is very interesting in the context of complex radio environments, especially those used in dense urban areas. By relying on simple solutions to control the angle of reflection of the signal from the surface, different effects may be achieved in radio communication systems. Maximization or minimization of the received power at specific locations near the reflecting surface is the most important effect. This phenomenon allows to: receive a signal at a location at which it could not be received previously, detect spectrum occupancy at a place where the sensor could not perform a correct detection, or minimize interference affecting a specific receiver. In this paper, all three concepts are presented and a simple ray tracing simulation is used to show the potential profits attainable in each of the scenarios. Additionally, a scenario was analyzed in which several of the aforementioned situations are combined.

Opis:
Teleoperation of unmanned aerial vehicles often demands extensive training. Yet, even well trained pilots are prone to mistakes, resulting frequently in collisions of the vehicle with obstacles. This paper presents a method to assist the tele-operation of a quadrotor using an obstacle avoidance approach. In particular, rough map of the nearby environment is constructed using sonar sensors. This map is constructed using FastSLAM to allow tracking of the vehicle position with respect to the map. The map is then used to override operator commands that may lead to a collision. An unknown and GPS denied environment is considered. Experimental results using the USARsim simulator are presented.

Natural landscape features are considered to be one of the most significant factors determining spatial distribution of tourist traffic in case of long-term holidays. This type of vacations seems to be crucial for economic impact of the tourism, as tourism multiplier points out accommodation as services with largest further turnover. Perception of the natural environment may be very subjective, however some of its elements can be easily measured and compared, thus may be treated as a specific determinant having influence on tourism. Therefore the paper is an attempt to find a statistical relationship, measured by correlation, between the size of forests, protected areas and surface of inland waters, as well as their share in the overall area of administrative units, and the number of beds in tourist accommodation establishments and their occupancy rate in years 2012 and 2014. The research area was Eastern Region of Poland (by NUTS 1 classification), which covers Podlaskie, Lubelskie, Podkarpackie and Świętokrzyskie provinces. The advantage of such delimitation is an analysis of areas with inner landscape diversification, from lake sites and plains in the north, through uplands and low hills in the center, to mountains in the south. Moreover, this region is also famous for the presence of numerous and varied forms of nature conservation. In the paper statistical measures were used and the main source of data were databases of Central Statistical Office of Poland.

In this paper the analysis of the spectrum occupancy in the TV band is provided based on the outdoor measurements campaigns carried out in Poznań, Poland in 2013 and 2014. The goal of this work is to discuss the stability and other important features of the observed spectrum occupancy in the context of outdoor Radio Environment Maps database deployment. Reliable deployment of these databases seems to be one of the critical points in practical utilization of the TV White Spaces for cognitive purposes inside buildings and in densely populated cities. The results obtained for outdoor scenario are briefly compared with the previous measurements conducted indoors in Barcelona, Spain, and in Poznań, Poland.

Parking lots are part of the national transport system. Their availability and structure affect the smoothness of vehicle traffic. The use of innovative solutions in this area aims to improve the quality of movement also for lorries. Therefore, the aim of this article was to investigate parking management systems. The study used a method of assessment of entry/exit balancing algorithm based motorway car park occupancy information systems has been proposed. Adequate criteria and quality measures have been indicated; procedures of setting the measures in the process of the system's certification and their applicability to selected NeuroCar Park Balance installations have been described. External factors influencing the efficiency of the systems and recommendations concerning verification procedures in commercial conditions have also been referred to. The benefits and difficulties of applying a management system for parking lots for trucks on the route were identified based on the measurements made.
Parkingi są częścią krajowego systemu transportowego. Ich dostępność i struktura wpływają na płynność ruchu pojazdów. Zastosowanie innowacyjnych rozwiązań w tym zakresie ma na celu poprawę jakości ruchu także pojazdów ciężarowych na trasie. Dlatego celem tego artykułu było zbadanie systemów zarządzania parkingami. W pracy zastosowano metodę oceny algorytmów równoważenia wjazdów/wyjazdów w oparciu o systemy informacji o zajętości parkingów autostradowych. Wskazano adekwatne kryteria i mierniki jakości, opisano również procedury ustalania mierników w procesie certyfikacji systemu oraz ich zastosowanie do wybranych aplikacji tj.: NeuroCar Park Balance. Odniesiono się również do czynników zewnętrznych wpływających na sprawność systemów oraz zaleceń dotyczących procedur weryfikacji. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych pomiarów zidentyfikowano korzyści i trudności w stosowaniu systemu zarządzania parkingami dla samochodów ciężarowych będących w trasie.

W ostatnich latach postępuje intensywny rozwój obszarów podmiejskich wokół dużych miast. Powoduje to znaczący wzrost potoków ruchu do miasta. W obsłudze transportowej tych obszarów bardzo często obserwuje się duży udział zmotoryzowanego transportu indywidualnego. Jest to spowodowane dynamicznym rozwojem motoryzacji. Jednym z działań, jakie należy podjąć w ramach polityki transportowej na tych obszarach, winno być zwiększenie napełnienia samochodu osobowego. Z tego powodu należy lepiej poznać czynniki wpływające na intensywność wykorzystania transportu indywidualnego. Przeanalizowany będzie wpływ pory roku na napełnienie samochodu czy też wielkości natężenia ruchu na poszczególnych drogach. Na zakończenie podjęto próbę estymacji wielkości napełnienia samochodu osobowego.
In recent years intensive development of suburb areas around big cities has been progressing. It results with a significant increase of traffic stream into a city. A large share of individual motorized transport is being observed in the transport service of the suburb areas. It is caused by the dynamic development of motorization. Increase of car occupancy should be included in the list of measures undertaken in the framework of transport policy devoted to those areas. This is why we should better recognize factors affecting intensity of the avail of individual transport. The influence of the season and the volume of the traffic on particular roads is to be analysed. In the end an attempt to estimate car occupancy has been undertaken.

The site preference of some transition metals during B2-type ordering has been investigated in the ternary Cu0.5 (Zn1-x Mx )0.5 alloys with M = Ti, V, Ag, Au, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta, W, Re or Pt (x ≤ 0.01). The statistic-o-thermodynamical theory combined with the electronic theory of alloys has been used to calculate the partial ordering energies, partial short range order parameters and the order-disorder transformation temperatures. The values of partial short range order parameters have been used to determine the site preference of the metal M. The analysis shows that the metals M can be divided into two groups with regard to lattice site occupancy. One group comprising of Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta, W, Re or Pt was found to prefer Zn sublattice sites, while the second group of Ti, V, Ag or Au atoms prefer Cu sublattice sites. It is found that order-disorder transformation temperature and the site preference of metal M both depend strongly on the partial ordering energies and ternary alloying addition of metal M.

W projektach budowlanych jest przyjęte, że liczbę miejsc parkingowych ustala się na podstawie przyjętych standardów. Wykorzystywanie tych globalnych wzorców powoduje ignorowanie istniejącego zróżnicowania zachowań komunikacyjnych (i parkingowych). Ta różnorodność prowadzi do szerokich granic przyjętych wzorców i w konsekwencji standardów parkingowych. Takie różnice wynikają ze zróżnicowania grup użytkowników, warunków lokalnych jak dostępność, zagospodarowanie przestrzenne itp. W artykule opisano metodę obliczeniową, w której bierze się pod uwagę lokalne uwarunkowania. Zasadniczymi elementami w obliczeniach są: liczba przyjazdów, okres parkowania i dopuszczalny poziom zajętości parkingu.
In building-projects it is usual that the amount of parking spaces to be built is established by the use of parking standards. Using these global benchmarks ignores the wide variety that exists in travel (and parking-)behaviour. This variety leads to wide margins in benchmark-data, and consequently in parking standards. These differences are caused by differences in user groups, local circumstances like accessibility, urban structure, etcetera. This paper describes a calculating method that takes into account these local specific circumstances. Essential element in the calculations are the number of arrivals, the duration of visits and the acceptable occupancy rate of parking facilities.

Current development of the maritime transportation system, namely fleet and ports specialization, growth of vessel sizes, rationalization of routs, trade regionalization etc., has made many traditional approaches and calculation techniques practiced for many long years in port design procedures to be inadequate and insufficient. A generally acknowledged tool for this task today is the simulation technique. In the same time, modern object oriented simulation approach provides usually only ad hoc solution for a project. It lacks the generality that was the main and natural feature of its traditional analytical predecessors. Very high time and labor consumption of simulation comes to a conflict with a very narrow scope of the resulting model’s application domain. This paper describes a new approach used to create a simulation tool for the port designers and planners combining the universality and generality of the analytical (so called “static”) methods with the efficiency and accuracy of the object-oriented simulation. The concept represented in the paper was implemented in the software product, which enabled to conduct experiments that proved the validity and adequacy of the model. The simulation tool was used in several sea port design project and now is a common instrument of several leading port design and consulting company in Russian Federation.

The article is devoted to the problem of the structure of libertarian theory of justice. It tries to present a map of the main concepts and principles of this theory and to investigate its possible justifications. It explains such fundamental concepts as original appropriation, homesteading, labour theory of property or first possession theory of original appropriation. The article shows merits and drawbacks of alternative libertarian principles of justice in first acquisition and proposes a sketch of an original justification for the first possession theory of original appropriation.

The study presents the problem of an appropriate and comprehensive shaping of the living environment of senior citizens in institutional care, i.e. creation of a most accessible built environment for them. The currently prevailing conditions in Polish care institutions for senior citizens are continuously improving, however they do not completely fulfil modern requirements and European standards expected from such institutions. In order for such a facility to provide an appropriate living environment for senior citizens and function efficiently, they cannot be based only on precisely defined guidelines and design principles. They have to be based on knowledge concerning senior citizens, their problems, needs and expectations; they also have to take into account the results of qualitative research based on the principles of universal design and ergonomics.

In total, 240 nest boxes for water birds were assessed during 2006 − 2010 at six localities in South Bohemia region (Czech Republic). Occupancy and nest effect rate of the boxes was monitored.
