Celem tego artykułu jest prześledzenie rozwoju interpretacji motywu tajemniczej „gwiazdy z Jakuba”, poczynając od tekstu masoreckiego Lb 24,17, przez starożytne tłumaczenia, aż po egzegezę wczesnych Ojców Kościoła. 
Among the various interpretations of “The Star out of Jacob” (Numbers 24:17), the messianic reading, present in both the Jewish and the Christian traditions, has played an enormous role. The purpose of this study is to review the development of different interpretations of “The Star out of Jacob”, starting from the Masoretic Text of Numbers 24:17, proceeding through the ancient versions, and ending up with the exegesis of the early Church Fathers.

Artykuł jest próbą analizy i interpretacji kreacji postaci kobiecych w Barwinkowym wianku Stanisława Vincenza. Zaobserwowano, że autor posłużył się tradycyjnym repertuarem kreowania postaci kobiecych, czerpiąc z konwencji romantycznych i modernistycznych. Znalazły się tu obrazy mityczno-archetypowe, biblijne, wzorce i fantazmaty kulturowe. Role społeczne babek, matek, żon, panienek, nianiek i służących zostały osadzone w realiach właściwych dla każdej z opisywanych kultur. Deskrypcje ciała kobiet zmierzają ku „odcieleśnieniu” postaci. W Barwinkowym wianku wizerunki kobiet oscylują między uduchowieniem („anioł”, „królowa”, „księżniczka”, „kobieta-dusza”, Bóg-Matka, matka karmicielka) infantylizacją („kobieta-dziecko”), a obrazami społecznej opresji (moda, konwenans, przemoc). Jednak większość obrazów prezentuje bohaterki w sytuacjach uroczystych, idealnych. Znaczenia postaci bohaterek zostały rozważone z perspektywy symboliki liczb oraz archetypowej kobiecości (Wielka Matka, jasne i ciemne oblicze Szechiny).
This article is an attempt at analyze and interpret the creation of female characters of Stanisław Vincenz’ novel Barwinkowy wianek. It can be concluded that Vincenz used the traditional repertoire of creating female characters, drawing on romanticism and modernism. This repertoire contains mythical, archetypal and biblical images, as well as patriarchal social patterns and phantasms, all of which were identified in the text. The social roles of grandmothers, mothers, wives, maids, nannies, servants were set in the realities specific to each described culture. The descriptions of the female body tend to be “disembodied” in the novel. The images of women in Barwinkowy wianek oscillate between spirituality (“an angel”, “a queen”, “a princess”, “woman-soul”, God Mother, a mother feeder), infantilisation (“a woman-child”) and descriptions of social oppression (corset fashion, conventions, violence). However, in most cases the women are shown in festive, ideal situations. The article looks at the meanings of the characters through the symbolism of numbers and symbolism of archetypal femininity (great Mother Goddess Sophia, light and dark faces of Shekhina).

Opis:
Classical methods of data envelopment analysis operate by measuring the efficiency of decision- -making units (DMUs) compared to similar units, without taking their internal structure into account. However, some DMUs consist of two stages, with the first stage producing an intermediate product, which is then consumed in the second stage to produce the final output. The efficiency of this type of DMU is often measured using two-stage network data envelopment analysis. In real world, most data are vague. Therefore, the inputs and outputs of systems with vagueness data create uncertainty challenges for DMUs. As a result, when uncertainty appears, intuitionistic fuzzy sets can show more information than classical fuzzy sets. This paper presents a model of two-stage Network Data Envelopment Analysis based on intuitionistic fuzzy data, which measures the efficiency of the first and second stages of each DMU, and the overall efficiency measures based on the stage efficiencies.

Opis:
Applicability of a fuzzy approach to a problem originating from administrative accounting, namely to determine an economic order quantity (EOQ) in a variable competitive environment with imprecise and vague data, has been presented. For this purpose, the model of ordered fuzzy numbers developed by the first author and his two co-workers is used. The present approach generalizes the one developed within the framework of convex fuzzy numbers and stays outside the probabilistic one.

Opis:
There are several fuzzy critical path methods for solving fuzzy critical path problems in which ranking approaches are used for comparing fuzzy numbers. In this paper, it is shown that if the existing ranking approaches are used for solving such fuzzy critical path problems in which duration times of activities are represented by LR flat fuzzy numbers, then more than one fuzzy numbers, representing the fuzzy project completion time, are ob- tained and a new ranking approach for comparing LR flat fuzzy numbers is proposed. Also, it is proved that if the proposed rank- ing approach is used for solving fuzzy critical path problems then a unique fuzzy number, representing the fuzzy project completion time, is obtained.

We propose a novel approach to the solution of fuzzy matrix games with payoffs given as trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. We extend Li’s [36, Chapter 9] work based on a cut-set based method for finding an optimal solution to overcome the fact that the assumptions and properties assumed therein do not guarantee in general, first, the very existence of an optimal solution, and second, its attainment via a mathematical programming formulation proposed. We first briefly mention those problems in Li’s [36] approach, and then propose a new, corrected and general method, called the Mehar mehod, based on a modified mathematical pro- gramming formulation of a matrix game with payoffs represented by trapezoid intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. For illustration, we solve Li’s [36] example, and compare his and our results.

Opis:
The output of a generator in power plant is the electricity, and it consists of two parts, active and reactive power. These quantities are expressed as complex numbers in which the real part is the active power and the imaginary part is the reactive power. Reactive power plays an important role in an electricity network. Ignoring it will exclude a lot of information. With regard to the importance of the generators in power plants, surely, calculating the efficiency of these units is of great importance. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a nonparametric approach to measure the relative efficiency of Decision-Making Units (DMUs). Since the generators data are complex numbers, thus, if we the use classical DEA models in order to measure the efficiency of the generators in power plants, the reactive power cannot be considered, and the measurement is limited to the real number of electric power. In this paper, a new DEA model with complex numbers is developed in order to assess the performance of the power plant generators.

Today, cryptographic security depends primarily on having strong keys and keeping them secret. The keys should be produced by a reliable and robust to external manipulations generators of random numbers. To hamper different attacks, the generators should be implemented in the same chip as a cryptographic system using random numbers. It forces a designer to create a random number generator purely digitally. Unfortunately, the obtained sequences are biased and do not pass many statistical tests. Therefore an output of the random number generator has to be subjected to a transformation called postprocessing. In this paper the hash function SHA-256 as postprocessing of bits produced by a combined random bit generator using jitter observed in ring oscillators (ROs) is proposed. All components – the random number generator and the SHA-256, are implemented in a single Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). We expect that the proposed solution, implemented in the same FPGA together with a cryptographic system, is more attack-resistant owing to many sources of randomness with significantly different nominal frequencies.

The factorization problem belongs to a group of problems important in the security of information systems and cryptography. The article describes a new number factorization algorithm designed based on numerical experiments. We present an extension of number factorization using triangular numbers features. The described algorithm can be used to increase the security of key generation for the RSA algorithm.

Opis:
In the paper we discuss the analysis of multidimensional data. We consider the relationship between them using a special fuzzy number form. Calculations are kept on set of actual and historical meteorological data. Our model using to forecast pollution concentrations is important in today because pollutions have very big influence on our life in particular pollutions PM10 (particulate matter less than 10 µm in diameter). The effects of inhaling particulate matter have been widely studied in humans and animals and include asthma, lung cancer, cardiovascular issues, and premature death. Because of the size of the particle, they can penetrate the deepest part of the lungs. In Air Pollution Forecasting Model for the chosen weather forecast we find similar weather forecasts. Next, we find real meteorological situations from the historical data which correspond to them and we create fuzzy numbers, that is, the fuzzy weather forecasts. Then we estimate the validity of the weather forecast on the basis of the historical data and its accuracy. We investigate it with the help of a set of indicators, which corresponds to the parameters of the weather forecast, using the similarities rule of the weather forecast to the meteorological situation, a proper distance and data analysis. This comprehensive analysis allows us to investigate the effectiveness of forecasting pollution concentrations, putting the dependence between particular attributes describing the weather forecast in order and proving the legitimacy of the applicable fuzzy numbers in air pollution forecasting. Models are created for data, which are measured and forecasting in Poland. By reason of this data our models are testing in real sets of data and effects are received in active system.

Opis:
In the classic algorithm of adding two m-bit numbers with carries we add a single bits of the added numbers on each of the m positions. If we assume for a single iteration of the algorithm to calculate the value of a single bit of the sum, then for each pair of m-bit numbers the algorithm executes m iterations. In this paper we propose a recursive algorithm of adding two numbers for which the number of the executed iterations is variable and ranges from 0 to m.
W klasycznym algorytmie dodawania dwóch m-bitowych liczb z przeniesieniami dodajemy po kolei bity na poszczególnych pozycjach binarnych reprezentacji danych wejściowych. Jeśli przyjmiemy za iterację algorytmu wyznaczenie wartości pojedynczego bitu sumy, to dla każdej pary m-bitowych liczb algorytm wykonuje m iteracji. W niniejszej pracy proponujemy rekurencyjny algorytm dodawania dwóch liczb, który w pojedynczej iteracji wykonuje trzy operacje logiczne, a liczba iteracji wynosi od 0 do m.

Order fuzzy numbers are defined that make it possible to deal with fuzzy inputs quantitatively, exactly in the same way as with real numbers, together with four algebraic operations. An approximation formula is given for a defuzzyfication functional that plays the main role when dealing with fuzzy controllers and fuzzy inference systems. A dedicated evolutionary algorithm is presented in order to determine the form of a functional when a training set is given. The form of a genotype composed of three types of chromosomes and the fitness function are given and Genetic operators are proposed.

This study aims to develop a new Interval Rough COmbinative Distance-based Assessment (IR CODAS) method for handling multiple criteria group decision making problems using linguistic terms. A single decision maker is unable to express his opinions or preferences on multiple criteria decisions, while a Multi-Criteria Group Decision Making MCGDM process ensures successful outcomes when handling greater imprecision and vagueness information. A real-life case study of risk assessment is investigated using our proposed IR-CODAS method to test and validate its application; a sensitivity analysis is also performed.

Opis:
We investigate the third Hankel determinant problem for some starlike functions in the open unit disc, that are related to shell-like curves and connected with Fibonacci numbers. For this, firstly, we prove a conjecture, posed in [17], for sharp upper bound of second Hankel determinant. In the sequel, we obtain another sharp coefficient bound which we apply in solving the problem of the third Hankel determinant for these functions.
