The article is a critical insight into Ryszard Nycz’s theoretical and antropological project included in his book, Culture as a Verb. Sounding out New Humanities. The fundamental argument is based on the archeology of Nyczean concepts, and their philosophical and socio-political implications. The analytical process focuses on three points. Firstly, the issue is the non-reducing meaning of the cultural experiment, which is the foundation of the “new” epistemology. Secondly, the question is the new idea of temporality, historicity, and relations between nature and culture. Thirdly, the focus is on the concept of praxis.

The article opens with a statement that dramaturgical creativity, long marginalized by literary studies, has returned to the area of its interest together with its researchers’ use of the achievements of performative and cultural turns. Taking these into account allows us to treat drama as a distinctive literary practice in which the reception of a text is exemplary. As the author claims, with the New Humanities, integrating scattered reading perspectives known to the history of literary studies into the horizons of New Positivity, dramatic studies enrich this standpoint and maintain a critical view making creative use of the antagonism of perspectives, confrontation of attitudes, conflict of qualities or different visions and ideas. The potential tensions revealed in the practice of active reading of a literary text in accordance with the dramatic matrix guarantee the positive effects of each act of engaged reading. The dramatization of tradition is a specific field of critical dialogue between the reader and the existing literary tradition. Three dramatic works by Jan Czapliński are indicated as examples of mediators for this dialogue. The work of this playwright presents and suggests a critical reading of the characters and works of Gabriela Zapolska, Henryk Sienkiewicz and Adam Mickiewicz, leading to the emancipation of their works that is situated beyond the framework of the discursively created, existing canon of contemporary Polish literature and culture. A critical view enriches and updates the canon. Dramatization, which allows the revaluation of existing values, appears as the basic category of contemporary art – revealing existing, usually ineffable conflicts and using them to build new, positive values.

The article concentrates on the motif of fungi which reoccurs in Olga Tokarczuk’s novels. The author proves that mycelium functions as epistemological metaphor. It represents the vision of the world based on the interconnectedness, defying dichotomies. In this Tokarczuk’s works represent new humanities – the anthropocentric perspective gives way to non-anthropocentric. The author also emphasizes the fact that Tokarczuk’s use of mycelium pre-dates the same category introduced by A.L. Tising, who in turn extended the category of rhizome by G. Deleuze and F. Guattari.

Assuming the statement, according to which video games (or the entire culture related to them) can serve as a valuable teaching material, is true, it is reasonable and justified to question the still-existing opposition and dispute that digital games must face in school environments. This fact is all the more astonishing as it is the representatives of educational environment that are currently providing particularly didactically inspiring evidence, and thus also strong arguments for this claim. At the same time, the fact that computer games have always dealt with the cultural industry, or at least as much as with culture, means that the “distrustfulness” towards digital games present in the educational space does not only have to be an expression of prejudices and moral panic. Acting from the position of a philosopher involved in the educational potential of computer games, in this text I take up to formulate a possible answer/possible answers explaining the reasons for this conjuncture. Relying on the hermeneutic method, I also suggest possible ways of reading a computer game, pointing to its didactic importance. This text is therefore directed primarily to teachers and educators interested in searching for innovative and practical educational strategies.

Opis:
Literature for children and youth is reinterpreted under the influence of the new humanities. For example, prose from the 20th century is subjected to postcolonial read-outs (In Desert and Wilderness [W pustyni i w puszczy] by Henryk Sienkiewicz, the novel cycle by Alfred Szklarski), an eco-critical reading of the works of Tove Jansson, Hugh Lofting and the Polish writers Ludwik Jerzy Kern and Dorota Terakowska is proposed. On the other hand, works based on historical issues create a thematically focused series of publications, genealogical and geanological cycles, which are also fictionalized biographies, separate works referring to the lineage of the Polish state and dynastic linagees, post-memory narratives of a so-called “second generation” about the experience of the Second World War, and works on migration issues. The examples of literary historiography for adolescents mentioned and described in the article, captured in several areas of the formal issues, can be read through the prism of many analytical and interpretative practices, overlapping and incompletemethodologies. Retentional direction of reading, with the horizon of the past inscribed in it, does not exclude a protentional-oriented towards the future and environmental change, motivated by postcolonial revisions of old works, important issues of the 21st century (migration, post-memory), and a non-anthropocentric perception of reality. Their analysis should take into account the “poetics of history”, tropology of the narrative and narrative strategies (which Hayden White wrote about). Moreover, entangling the past with the present of the child-reader (and in fact with their future), seems to be a necessary condition for its interiorization, for recognizing it as one’s own, for admitting it. It always has a multitemporal, multigenerational and multicultural character.

The article discusses the book by Wojciech Browarny Historie odzyskane. Literackie dziedzictwo Wrocławia i Dolnego Śląska [Rescued Stories: Literary Heritage of Wrocław and Upper Silesia]. The author of the article presents the concept of “rescuing” the forgotten local history by the writers and scholars based inWrocław and Upper Silesia. The region regains its cultural importance, and the literature becomes a tool in building regional identity. The article demonstrates that the book is not confined to performing a regional function but is also important in a number of ways. It concerns the heritage of Upper Silesia, which is part of the region and Central Europe. It also belongs to contemporary literary criticism and the recent socially engaged humanities.

Autorka podejmuje namysł nad miejscem edukacji filmowej w szerszym kontekście teoretycznym, odwołując się do koncepcji pedagogiki sytuacjonistycznej Tadeusza Sławka oraz osadzając ją w ramach nowej humanistyki. Jako studium przypadku omawia i analizuje wybrane działania z 35-letniej historii Centralnego Gabinetu Edukacji Filmowej. Komentarze do pomysłów Gabinetu autorka odnosi do europejskich strategii edukacji filmowej: wypracowanych przez British Film Institute oraz funkcjonujących we Francji. W zakończeniu artykułu zostało sformułowanych pięć celów edukacji filmowej, które łączyłyby projekty z tego obszaru z kształceniem humanistycznym.
The author reflects on the place of film education in a broader theoretical context, applying the concept of situationist pedagogy proposed by Tadeusz Sławek and the framework of new humanities. As a case study, the author discusses and analyzes selected activities of Centralny Gabinet Edukacji Filmowej (Central Studio of Film Education), whose 35-year history has not yet been the object of an in-depth study. The author comments on the Studio’s ideas, relating them to some European strategies of film education, namely those established by the British Film Institute and those at work in France. In the conclusion, the author proposes five aims of film education that would link its programmes to humanities education.

Współczesny lament nad kondycją humanistyki stanowi integralny element zataczającej coraz szersze kręgi debaty na temat kryzysu demokracji, tożsamości, oświecenia, krytyki globalizacji, postnowoczesności. Jest wreszcie wyrazem bezradności człowieka w obliczu radykalizacji ruchów i partii politycznych wobec nieuniknionego procesu coraz gwałtowniejszych i wszechogarniających cywilizacyjnych i kulturowych zmian. Wśród czynników rzutujących na jej postrzeganie na pierwszy plan wysuwa się poczucie wyobcowania generacji aktywnie współtworzącej porządek demokratyczny w Europie Środkowo-Wschodniej po 1989 roku, jak i zachodnich elit zaangażowanych w pogłębienie integracji europejskiej. Ich świat wartości legł w gruzach. Ambiwalencja i obosieczność transformacji niemal wszystkich dziedzin życia, złożoność i sprzeczności wpisane niemal w naturę przemian społecznych i politycznych przyniosły w konsekwencji poczucie niepokoju, wzmocnione przez nieprzewidywalność rozwoju pandemii COVID-19 oraz wszechogarniający kryzys poczucia bezpieczeństwa społecznego.
Recent wailing over the condition of the humanities is an integral part of a greater debate on the crisis of democracy, identity, the Enlightenment, the critique of globalisation, and post-modernity. What is more, such lamentation expresses human helplessness as we confront the radicalisation of political movements and parties connected to the inevitable process of rapidly progressing and all-encompassing civilisational and cultural change. Among the factors influencing its perception, the sense of generational alienation actively co-creating the democratic order in Central and Eastern Europe after 1989, as well as of the Western elites involved in deepening European integration, has to be first and foremost considered. Their values were in ruins. The ambivalent and double-edged nature of the transformation of almost all spheres of life, the complexity and contradictions inherent in social and political change brought about a sense of unease, reinforced by the unpredictability of the COVID-19 pandemic and an all-embracing crisis of the sense of social security.

Odradzanie się mesjanizmu polskiego w nurcie public history stanowi dziś interesujące zagadnienie dla interdyscyplinarnych studiów w ramach nowej humanistyki. To istotny problem badań nad historią publiczną, z uwzględnieniem wpływu mitu mesjanistycznego na indywidualne wybory jednostki. Obecny w sferze politycznej, społecznej, gospodarczej, technologicznej, a także w słowach piosenek, grach komputerowych czy wideo-art, często nie wyrażane wprost, stają się ważnym elementem współczesnej kultury.
The revival of Polish messianism in public history is today an interesting issue for interdisciplinary studies within the framework of the new humanities. This is an important problem for the study of public history with respect to the influence of messianic myth on individual choices. Polish messianism, present in the political, social, economic, and technological spheres, as well as in the words of songs, computer games or video art, often not expressed directly, is becoming an important element of contemporary culture.

In the article I wonder about the reasons for the growing popularity of the postapocalyptic works in the pop culture of the early 21st century. The world after the collapse of the Western civilization is created in various literary, film and photographic forms, the examples of which I present in my study. The alternative post-apocalyptic reality is the postindustrial reality, archaized and non-anthropocentric. The technological regress presented in the works is based on imaginings of the end and is analogous to the fall of humanity among those people who survived after the “end” or were born afterwards. In the post-apocalyptic works of the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries it can be noticed that the authors of the vision of world “after to end” abandoned an extremely negative tone.

Opis:
The purpose of this paper is a straightforward one: to step back from the increasing use of assemblage in recent debates and to attempt to take stock of what assemblage thinking offers to humanities. I relate the answer to this question to the title concept of “sewn-together” humanities, which has a tentative and ad hoc character. The starting point is the analysis of the video installation realized by Angela Melitopoulos and Maurizio Lazzarato, entitled Assemblages, which relies upon the concept of assemblages proposed by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. Assuming that research practices and theories combine assemblages of ideas of both abstract and practical nature, I analyse examples of the application of assemblage thinking and action at the levels of a method, methodology, and onto-epistemology, tracing the goals that humanities achieve by means of this approach to research.
Zadanie tego artykułu jest proste: zdystansowanie się od wzrastającego na sile stosowania pojęcia asamblażu we współczesnych debatach i próba podjęcia kwestii co myślenie asamblażowe ma do zaoferowania humanistyce. Odpowiedź na to pytanie wiążę z tytułowym konceptem "pozszywanej" humanistyki, który ma charakter roboczy i doraźny. Punktem wyjścia jest analiza wideoinstalacji zrealizowanej przez Angelę Melipoulos i Maurizio Lazzarato pod tytułem Assemblages/Asamblaże, wykorzystującej koncepcję asamblaży Gillesa Deleuze’a i Félixa Guattariego. Przyjmując, że praktyki badawcze i teorie  łączą zespoły idei o charakterze abstrakcyjnym i praktycznym, analizuję przykłady zastosowania myślenia i działania asamblażowego na poziomie metody, metodologii i onto-epistemologii, śledząc cele, jakie osiąga  dzięki takiemu podejściu badawczemu humanistyka.

Artykuł jest refleksją nad rozwojem i nad przemianami, przed którymi staje współczesna glottodydaktyka polonistyczna i wobec których musi się jakoś opowiedzieć w ciągu następnych lat. Pierwsza część zawiera omówienie książki W. Miodunki poświęconej powstaniu, stanowi obecnemu i perspektywom rozwojowym glottodydaktyki polonistycznej, jak również opis zbiorowej pracy na temat nauczania języka polskiego w świecie i perspektyw rozwojowych edukacji polonistycznej. Druga część omawia konieczność ustosunkowania się glottodydaktyki wobec dokonującego się zwrotu w naukach humanistycznych, jak również wobec kryzysu ekologicznego, migracji i pandemii.
The paper reflects on the development and the transformations which contemporary Polish glottodidactics faces and must somehow address in the coming years. The first part contains a discussion of W. Miodunka’s book on the creation, current status and developmental prospects of Polish glottodidactics, as well as a description of a collective work on teaching Polish as a foreign language in light of the prospects for development of education in the field of Polish studies. The second part discusses the need for glottodidactics to take a position on the turnabout taking place in the humanities as well as on the environmental crisis, migration and the pandemic.

Sprawstwo w procesach pedagogicznych przypisywane jest zwykle ludziom. To oni wychowują i oni są podmiotami wychowania. W artykule przedstawiona została pewna pozorna kontradyktoryczność wyrażająca się w tytułowym zdaniu: „rzeczy także wychowują”. Jej analiza pozwala na dwa zabiegi. Po pierwsze docenienie rzeczy jako sprawczych w procesie edukacji. Po drugie zaproponowanie kontradyktoryczności jako narzędzia uwrażliwiającego na obecność nie-ludzkich aktorów w działaniach edukacyjnych. Przyglądanie się sprzecznościom, zarówno w teoriach jak i praktykach edukacyjnych można potraktować jako moment przebłysku, w którym uwidaczniają się skomplikowane relacje edukacyjne. W tekście zostały wykorzystane wybrane koncepcje nowej humanistyki a w szczególności teorii performatywnych i relacyjnych (oraz osadzone w nich rozumienie pedagogiki rzeczy). Wprowadzenie
The causality in pedagogical processes is usually attributed to people.They educate and they are educated. The article presents apparent contradictoriness expressed in the title: “things also educate”. Its analysis allows for two approaches. Firstly, the recognition of things as causal in the educational process. Secondly, the proposal of contradictoriness asa tool which makes us sensitive to the presence of non-human actor sin educational activities. Looking at contradictions, both in educational theories and practices, can be seen as a moment of epiphany in which complex educational relationships are revealed. The paper draws on selected concepts of the new humanities, in particular performative and relational theories (and the understanding of the pedagogy of things embedded in hem).

Veganisation of the Academy and New Humanities: Veganism in the Context of Literary and Cultural Studies The concept of “veganisation of the Academy” and “vegan turn” formulated by the author of the text refers to a growing interest of literary and cultural theorists, philosophers and psychologists in veganism perceived both as a practice and philosophy. The essay explores the history of this interest and focuses on its climax marked by the publication of The Vegan Studies Project. Food, Animals and Gender in the Age of Terror by Laura Wright, the monograph which creates the foundations for vegan studies. The essay makes an attempt to grasp the specificity of vegan studies  in the context of human-animal studies, ecocriticism and animal rights movements and places it on the map of contemporary humanities, with a special attention paid to the concept of prefigurative humanities proposed by Ewa Domańska. Seen in this light vegan studies emerges not only as a way to read literary and cultural text but also as a platform for a debate about an alternative vision of future.
Weganizacja akademii i nowa humanistyka, czyli o weganizmie w kontekście badań literacko-kulturowych Zaproponowane przez autorkę pojęcia „weganizacji akademii” i „wegańskiego zwrotu” odnoszą się do rosnącego zainteresowania badaczy – literaturoznawców, kulturoznawców, filozofów czy też psychologów – weganizmem postrzeganym zarówno jako praktyka jak i filozofia. Artykuł omawia historię tego zainteresowania oraz skupia się na kulminacyjnym momencie w historii naukowej refleksji nad weganizmem wyznaczonym przez publikację przez Laurę Wright The Vegan Studies Project. Food, Animals and Gender in the Age of Terror, monografii, która tworzy fundamenty dla studio nad weganizmem. Artykuł podejmuje próbę określenia specyfiki studiów nad weganizmem w kontekście studiów nad zwierzętami, ekokrytyki i ruchów na rzecz zwierząt oraz miejsca, jakie zajmują na mapie współczesnej humanistyki ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wprowadzonej przez Ewę Domańską koncepcji humanistyki prefiguratywnej. Widziane w tym ujęciu studia nad weganizmem mogą stać się platformą debaty na temat możliwości stworzenia alternatywnej wizji przyszłości.

This article attempts to discuss the philosophical contexts and meaning of the new humanities in the context of the philosophy of subjectivity. At the foundation of the new humanities, as it is argued, is not enlightenment, but Heidegger’s thought, with his excoriating critique of modern subjectivity and its Machenschaft. The article points to the foundational hubris that the new humanities oppose, and to the attempt to reinstall the subject within fixed boundaries. The new humanities, and posthumanism in particular, might backlash with violence against civilisation, comparable to that they endeavour to renounce. In order to manoeuvre through these convoluted figures of subjectivity, the article supports its theses with insightful readings of Hölderlin and Adorno.
Niniejszy artykuł podejmuje się próby przemyślenia kształtu oraz roli nowej humanistyki w kontekście filozofii podmiotowości. Zdaniem autorki, u podstawy nowej humanistyki nie stoi projekt oświeceniowy, lecz wpływ filozofii Martina Heideggera i jej krytyki nowoczesnej podmiotowości wraz z jej Machenschaft. Autorka wskazuje na fundamentalną pychę, której przeciwstawić stara się nowa humanistyka, starając się na nowo umieścić podmiot wewnątrz sztywnych granic. Myślenie nowohumanistycznie, a szczególnie posthumanistyczne, może jednak doprowadzić do powrotu przemocy przeciwko cywylizacji, której sama staje się krytyką. Kluczem do takiego odczytania, stają się dla autorki wnikliwe lektury Hölderlina oraz Adorna.

Nycz outlines the main trends of the New Humanities in the world - digital humanities, engaged humanities, cognitive humanities, posthumanism, art-based research, as well as the main debates and misunderstandings that have emerged over the last decade in the Polish context. An example of the evolution of ways of thinking and conducting research are the cultural-literary studies, CLS. This acronym stands for a variety of terms ranging from cultural literary theory to cultural-textual literacy.
Nycz zarysowuje główne nurty Nowej Humanistyki na świecie – humanistykę cyfrową, humanistykę zaangażowaną, humanistykę kognitywną, posthumanizm, badania oparte na sztuce, a także główne debaty i nieporozumienia, które pojawiły się w ciągu ostatniej dekady w kontekście polskim. Przykładem ewolucji sposobów myślenia oraz prowadzenia badań są studia literacko-kulturowe, KTL. Skrót ten oznacza różne pojęcia, od kulturowej teorii literatury do kulturowo-tekstualnej piśmienności.

The article discusses Marek Zaleski’s monograph Intensywność i rzeczy pokrewne [Intensity and other related matters] (Warsaw 2022). The reviewed book reads like a crossover between a strictly academic text and an essay. In a number of different essays, Zaleski insightfully analyzes the category of intensity and related notions of collective and individual memory. Discussing the problems of contemporary Polish prose, the scholar draws on the findings of the new humanities.

Artykuł jest próbą wypracowania w ramach dyskursu teatrologicznego postawy i metody badawczej rezonującej z przemianą, która zaczęła się w teatrze pod wpływem ruchu #MeToo i dyskusji o przemocy w szkołach teatralnych, w procesach twórczych i w teatrach. Punktem wyjścia refleksji jest spostrzeżenie, że w najnowszych spektaklach tematyzujących przemoc seksualną w teatrze widać proces przejścia od skargi na nadużycia władzy do konstruktywnych, wychylonych w przyszłość propozycji zmiany. Podstawą tego procesu jest świadomość usytuowania osób tworzących w panujących w teatrze układach władzy oraz gotowość brania pod uwagę rozmaitych konsekwencji tego usytuowania. Zaproponowany w artykule projekt odpowiedzialnie usytuowanej krytyki afirmatywnej rozumianej jako postawa badawczo-pisarska opiera się na koncepcjach wiedz usytuowanych Donny Haraway, humanistyki afirmatywnej Ewy Domańskiej, etyki posthumanistycznej (w ujęciu Karen Barad oraz Moniki Rogowskiej-Stangret) oraz krytyki afirmatywnej Harry’ego Lehmanna. Analiza dyskusji o coming outach dotyczących Ośrodka Praktyk Teatralnych „Gardzienice” stanowi studium przypadku, które ma pomóc dookreślić możliwości zmiany dyskursu na temat narzędzi i etyki badań teatralnych.
This article seeks to develop within the theater studies discourse a research stance and method that would resonate with the transformation that has begun in theater in connection with the #MeToo movement and the discussion about violence in theater schools, creative processes, and theaters. The author’s point of departure is the observation that recent productions thematizing sexual violence in theater have been gradually turning from grievances against the abuse of power towards constructive, forward-leaning proposals for change. This process is founded on the awareness that theater makers are situated within the present systems of power and on the willingness to consider various implications of this situatedness. The proposed project of responsibly situated affirmative criticism, understood as a research-and-writing stance, is based on Donna Haraway’s concepts of situated knowledges, Ewa Domańska’s affirmative humanities, posthumanist ethics (as envisaged by Karen Barad and Monika Rogowska-Stangret), and Harry Lehmann’s affirmative criticism. The article offers an analysis of the discussion about comings-out concerning the “Gardzienice” Center for Theater Practices, as a case study aimed at a more precise delineation of the possibilities for changing the discourse on the instruments and ethics of theater research.

Ponawiam pytanie: Czy humanistyka cyfrowa jest wstępem do budowania nowej organizacji wiedzy poprzez wdrożenie w obszarze badań humanistycznych metodyki opartej na nowych technologiach i mediach cyfrowych? Czy przedstawia plan racjonalizacji, formując zarazem nową metaorientację rozmaitych nurtów badań w tym obszarze i projekt nowej republiki humanistów, w której przedsięwzięcia badawcze stanowić będą komplementarne pole gry między tworzeniem a wynajdywaniem?
In the article, I refer to the the issue of the digital turn in humanities, concerning its implications from the methodological perspective. I deal with the question: should digital humanities be defined only as the application of digital research methods in the field of humanities and the potential mode of its institutionalisation? Or may it be considered as a proposal for the improvement and introduction of the new republic of humanists, creating the research area for the projects situated between constructing / inventing and finding the solution?

Irving Babbitt (1865-1933) bronił stanowiska, że możliwa jest humanistyka, której metoda sprosta wymogom nowoczesnego człowieka oczarowanego praktycznymi konsekwencjami postępów nauki i techniki, a która jednocześnie nie będzie negować fundamentalnej – jego zdaniem – prawdy o dwoistości ludzkiej natury. Człowiek jako istota biologiczna podlega prawom natury zewnętrznej, prawom ciągłej zmiany, względności i ekspansji. To jednak, co w człowieku istotnie ludzkie, by mogło zostać rozpoznane i poruszone aktem woli, musi zwrócić się ku innemu prawu – ludzkiemu prawu koncentracji, selekcji i umiaru. Tylko będąc mu posłusznym, może człowiek odzyskać samowiedzę i władzę nad samym sobą. Ponowne odkrycie tej zapoznanej dziedziny ludzkiego życia powinno – zdaniem Babbitta – stanowić punkt wyjścia dla prawdziwie nowoczesnej, czyli krytycznej i eksperymentalnej, humanistyki. Niniejsze rozważania konfrontują postulaty zwolenników humanistyki cyfrowej z perspektywą oferowaną przez tzw. nowy humanizm Irvinga Babbitta. Wydaje się, że może ona stanowić interesujący punkt odniesienia w toczącej się dyskusji nad przyszłością humanistyki.
Irving Babbitt (1865-1933) defended a view of humanities supported by a method that would match the expectations of modern man enchanted by the practical consequences of science and technology without negating the basic truth of the dualism of human nature. Man as a biological phenomenon is governed by the outer law of constant change, relativity, and expansion. But what is distinctively human, to be recognized and moved by an act of will, must turn to a different law – the human law of concentration, selection and measure. Only by obeying it, one can regain his self-knowledge and self-control. This neglected domain of human existence should – according to Babbitt – form a suitable point of departure in the task of attaining a truly modern view of humanities. The article confronts the views preached by the supporters of the digital humanities with the prospects offered by Babbitt’s “new humanism” to form an argument in the ongoing quarry over the future of the humanities.

W artykule przedstawione nowe sposoby badania filmów na przykładzie analizy Gwiezdnych wojen. Główną metodą interpretacji i prezentacji wyników badań była wizualizacja.
The article presents the tools and methods for the study of new media. The author describes the programs created by the new trend in science called digital humanities. The main thesis is that the biggest problem of the contemporary media studies is the study of the great collection of data – which is the big date. In the article presented new ways to study films on the example of analysis of Star Wars. The main method of interpretation and presentation of research results was the visualization.

The article analyzes contemporary interest in utopia as a method in the area of the new humanities. The author asks whether nowadays, after the post-critical turn, humanists can afford to use utopia as a method. She also ponders on the attitude that would have to be adopted for this methodology. In this context, she briefly discusses the proposals of Jeffrey C. Alexander, Immanuel Wallerstein and Ruth Levitas, while identifying ethical and methodological problems related to utopian experiments and their limits. Taking into account her methodological findings about utopia as a method, she continues her search through Polish cultural studies, pointing for example to Jan Sowa’s works and broader research trends presented at the 3rd Congress of the Polish Association of Cultural Studies in Poznań. While diagnosing them only as a preliminary phase, she believes they may be the phenomena that herald a turn towards utopia in the Polish humanities.
