    The paper is devoted to the finding of the coefficient of one nonlinear wave equation in the mixed problem. The considered problem is reduced to the optimal control problem with proper functional. Differentiability of functional is proved and the necessary optimality conditions are derived in the form of the variational inequality. Existence of the optimal control is proved.

    This paper is devoted to singular calculus of variations problems with constraint functional not regular at the solution point in the sense that the first derivative is not surjective. In the first part of the paper we pursue an approach based on the constructions of the p-regularity theory. For p-regular calculus of variations problem we formulate and prove necessary and sufficient conditions for optimality in singular case and illustrate our results by classical example of calculus of variations problem.

    In this paper, we consider an optimal control problem in which a dynamical system is controlled by a nonlinear Caputo fractional state equation. First we get the linearized maximum principle. Further, the concept of a quasi-singular control is introduced and, on this basis, an analogue of the Legendre-Clebsch conditions is obtained. When the analogue of Legendre-Clebsch condition degenerates, a necessary high-order optimality condition is derived. An illustrative example is considered.

    Opis:
    A special description of the boundary variation in a shape optimization problem is investigated. This, together with the use of a potential theory for the state, result in natural embedding of the problem in a Banach space. Therefore, standard differential calculus can be applied in order to prove the Frechet-differentiability of the cost function for appropriately chosen data (sufficiently smooth). Moreover, necessary optimality conditions are obtained in a similar way as in other approaches, and are expressed in terms of an adjoint state for more regular data.

    The paper deals with shape optimization of dynamic contact problem with Coulomb friction for viscoelastic bodies. The mass nonpenetrability condition is formulated in velocities. The friction coefficient is assumed to be bounded.     For Peter F. Strawson, transcendental arguments were an important part of his philosophical method, referred to as a connective analysis. Both Strawson and his critical commentators have devoted a lot of effort to determining the nature, scope and purpose of those arguments. In this text, I intend, first of all, to reconstruct and characterize the basic elements of transcendental argumentation, specifying its general form, features and purpose. Secondly, I reconstruct some of the most representative examples of this argumentation. Thirdly, I refer to the basic objections against transcendental arguments formulated in the literature. Finally, I point to a few peculiarities in those arguments, commonly omitted by commentators and interpreters. The overall message of the paper is moderately positive: transcendental arguments are a legitimate way of reasoning in philosophy, and in particular, they constitute a comprehensible and well-founded part of Strawson’s connective analysis.

    This paper is concerned with a shape optimization problem of a viscoelastic body in unilateral dynamic contact with a rigid foundation. The contact with Coulomb friction is assumed to occur at a portion of the boundary of the body. The nonpenetration condition is described in terms of velocities.     W artykule dokonano przeglądu literatury w celu identyfikacji czynników, które mogą decydować o skłonności pracowników i ich zaangażowaniu w dzielenie się wiedzą ze współpracownikami. Pod uwagę brano zarówno pobudki wynikające z cech osobowościowych pracownika, bodźce zależne od organizacji, jak i cechy samej wiedzy, które mogą przesądzać o poziomie gotowości pracownika do dzielenia się nią. Następnie, wykorzystując analizę warunków koniecznych (NCA), ustalono, czy w grupie potencjalnych determinantów chęci do wymiany wiedzy są elementy niezbędne do występowania wysokiego i bardzo wysokiego poziomu skłonności pracowników do dzielenia się wiedzą. W 14 (na badanych 32) przypadkach wyniki analizy wskazały na istnienie efektu warunku koniecznego, jednak biorąc pod uwagę przyjętą skalę oceny wielkości, jest to efekt raczej mały, a w jednym przypadku średni. Co jednak istotne, wszystkie czynniki o wartości efektu warunku koniecznego >= 0,188 znalazły się w grupie czynników wskazanych przez inne metody jako te o dużym wpływie na poziom skłonności pracowników do dzielenia się wiedzą. Do czynników takich zaliczyć można naturalną gotowość pracownika do przekazywania swojej wiedzy, otwartość na nowe doświadczenia, optymizm pracownika oraz jego przekonanie o posiadaniu wiedzy o dużej wartości. Badanie pozwoliło jednocześnie na prezentację zastosowania metody warunków koniecznych do analizy zagadnienia z obszaru zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi, jakim w niniejszym artykule było poszukiwanie czynników niezbędnych do występowania wysokiego poziomu skłonność pracowników do dzielenia się wiedzą.
    The article reviews the literature in order to identify the factors that may determine the willingness of employees and their involvement in sharing knowledge with colleagues. The motives resulting from the employee’s personality traits, organization-dependent stimuli as well as the characteristics of the knowledge itself, which may determine the level of the employee’s readiness to share it, were taken into account. Then, using the necessary conditions analysis (NCA), it was determined whether the group of potential determinants of the willingness to exchange knowledge included elements necessary for the occurrence of a high and very high level of employees’ willingness to share knowledge. In 14 cases (out of the 32 examined) the results of the analysis indicated the existence of the condition effect, but taking into account the adopted size assessment scale, this effect was rather small, and in one case it was medium. However, it is important that all factors with the value of the effect of the necessary condition >= 0.188 were included in the group of factors indicated by other methods as those with a large impact on the level of employees’ willingness to share knowledge. Such factors include the employee’s natural readiness to transfer their knowledge, openness to new experiences, employees’ optimism and their belief that they have knowledge of great value. At the same time, the study allowed for the presentation of the application of the necessary conditions’ method to analyse issues in the area of human resources management, which in this article was the search for factors necessary for the occurrence of a high level of employees’ willingness to share knowledge.

    Opis:
    The paper concerns a strength optimization of continuous beams with variable cross-section. The continuous beams are subjected to a dead weight and a useful load, the six (seven) combinations of loads were analyzed. Optimal design problems in structural mechanics can by mathematically formulated as optimal control tasks. To solve the above formulated optimization problems, the minimum principle was applied. The paper is an introductory and survey paper of the treatment of realistically modelled optimal control problems from application in the structural mechanics. Especially those problems are considered, which include different types of constraints. The optimization problem is reduced to the solution of multipoint boundary value problems (MPBVP) composed of differential equations. Dimension of MPBVP is usually a large number, what produces numerical difficulties. Optimal control theory does not give much information about the control structure. The correctness of the assumed control structure can be checked after obtaining the solution of the boundary problem.
    Praca dotyczy optymalizacji wytrzymałościowej dźwigarów ciągłych trój-, cztero- i pięcioprzęsłowych o zmiennym dwuteowym przekroju poprzecznym. Dźwigary obciążone są ciężarem własnym i kombinacją obciążeń użytkowych (sześć lub siedem kombinacji). Deformacja dźwigara opisana jest przez układ równań różniczkowych z warunkami początkowymi i brzegowymi, ponadto do spełnienia pozostają wewnętrzne warunki brzegowe i warunki nieciągłości w pośrednich punktach podparcia. Rozważane są ograniczenia geometryczne, ograniczenia naprężeń i przemieszczeń. Jako funkcję celu wybrano objętość stali. Problemy optymalnego kształtowania formułowane są jako zadania teorii sterowania. Do rozwiązania zadań zaproponowano zasadę minimum. Problem optymalizacji redukuje się do rozwiązania wielopunktowego problemu brzegowego (WPPB) dla układu równań różniczkowych. Wymiar WPPB jest zwykle duży, co wymaga pokonania trudności numerycznych. Teoria sterowania nie dostarcza bowiem informacji o strukturze optymalnego rozwiązania dla której problem jest zbieżny. W pracy struktura sterowania opisuje kolejność występowania przedziałów i punktów z aktywnymi ograniczeniami. Poprawne przyjęcie tej struktury w rozwiązanych problemach jest zasadniczym osiągnięciem pracy. Uzyskane i prezentowane na wykresach wybrane zmienne stanu, zmienne sprzężone, zmienne decyzyjne, funkcje Hamiltona potwierdzają spełnienie warunków koniecznych optymalizacji.
