Opis:: The novel coaxial monopole antenna design with an additional metal screen is presented. The radiation char- acteristics of this antenna are investigated depending on a dis- tance between the ground plane and additional metal screens, as well as on a size of the latter. Measured and calculated ra- diation patterns are compared within limits of the operative frequency band and their revealed distinctions are discussed. The antennas characteristics allow pronounce that it can be considered as a promising candidate for various practical ap- plications both a single radiator and a composite element of antenna arrays.

Na potrzeby niniejszego artykułu przeprowadzono ankietę pośród użytkowników sieci Internet mającą na celu zbadanie zmian zachodzących w zakresie skłonności indywidualnych użytkowników do korzystania z usług bankowości mobilnej, w tym z płatności mobilnych oraz ich głównych obaw związanych z korzystaniem z usług bankowości mobilnej.

Opis:: In this paper an effective iterative method is presented for the power synthesis of reconfigurable antenna arrays. The algorithm is suitable for arrays of arbitrary geometry, including the case where a large number of elements is involved. The reconfigurability is achieved by phase-only control, so that the excitation amplitude of each array element remains constant during the reconfiguration process. Such amplitudes may be different from one array element to the others, and they are not assigned a priori, but are optimized. Furthermore, the electric field is imposed to vanish in a number of prescribed points of the near-field region, so that a strong field reduction is obtained in a neighborhood of them.

Opis:: Abstract The objective of this report is to provide a protective system architecture and analysis for NFC and Barcode technology that can be use to empower consumer in the fight against counter-feiting and IPR infringing products using mobile devices. This report focuses on the technology that can empower the consumer in the field in the presence of the goods itself by using technical tools and devices, which are easily available. The report identifies the main immediate empower-ring tool for consumers. This is represented by a modern smartphone (or similar device like a tablet) to be use as a tool to empower the consumer in the fight against counterfeiting. The modern smartphone is equipped with a high resolution camera, support for different standards for wireless connectivity, a powerful processor able to support the implementation of sophisticated algorithms and support for NFC and Barcode readers. In addition, the smartphone can be integrated and aug-mented with a wide range of plug-in devices and tools (e.g., an USB microscope). The concept of empowering the consumer can be an important element to support Due Diligence practices and Supply Chain Integrity because the different categories of consumer can authenticate the goods in different parts of the supply chain and report the presence of non-compliances (e.g., counterfeit products).

Opis:: We proposed a nano-imaging system at optical frequency region with the array of metallic nanorods. We simulated the field distribution of imaging process using the finitedifference time-domain algorithm. It is found that the spatial resolution is 40 nm, which is much beyond the diffraction-limit and is limited by the array pitch. The typical configuration is a hexagonal arrangement with 40 nm periodicity of silver rods of 50 nm height and 20 nm diameter. The image formation highly depends on the coherence and the polarization of the dipole sources, the array pitch, and the source-array distance. The principle of our near-field imaging is based on the longitudinal resonance of the localized surface plasmon along a metallic nanorod. The spectral responses of the device are also investigated.

Opis:: Ocena zagrożenia tąpaniami oraz ocena stateczności wyrobisk podziemnych w kopalniach węgla wymaga znajomości nie tylko obciążeń statycznych, ale również obciążeń dynamicznych. Analiza skutków wstrząsów w kopalniach Górnośląskiego Zagłębia Węglowego w postaci różnego typu i intensywności uszkodzeń wykazała, że występowały one wówczas, gdy ogniska tych wstrząsów były zlokalizowane blisko (przeważnie do 100 m) od wyrobisk. Potwierdza to fakt, że parametry drgań w tych odległościach mają decydujące znaczenie dla zaistnienia tąpnięcia, bowiem duże wartości parametru PPV są równoznaczne z występowaniem odpowiednio dużych obciążeń dynamicznych. W artykule pokazano geofizyczne empiryczne kryterium potencjalnego zagrożenia tąpnięciem. Analizując udokumentowaną bazę 120 tąpnięć, jakie zaistniały w GZW w latach 1988-2006, dokonano weryfikacji przedstawionego kryterium, stwierdzając, że 90% wszystkich tąpnięć wystąpiło w strefie, w której prędkość drgań PPV osiągała wartości od 0,05 m/s do 1 m/s. Wyniki badań przedstawione w artykule mogą być wykorzystywane do czasoprzestrzennego projektowania eksploatacji górniczej w warunkach prognozowanej dużej sejsmiczności górotworu, jak również do racjonalnego doboru obudowy i działań profilaktycznych zabezpieczających funkcjonalność wyrobisk i przyczyniających się do poprawy poziomu bezpieczeństwa pracy.
To study the rockburst hazard and underground mine working stability it is essential to know not only the static loads but also the dynamic loads. The performed analysis of the effects of mine tremors from the Upper Silesian Coal Basin, and of their intensity and various types of damage, clearly shows that they only occurred when the tremor sources were located close to the openings (mostly up to 100 m). These observations show that the ground motions parameters at such distances may be crucial for the occurrence of a rockburst because the high values of the PPV parameter are proportional to high dynamic stresses and underground hazards. An empirical criterion for potential rockburst hazard has been developed based on the worked out correlation dependences. In analyzing the documented database of 120 rockbursts from the Upper Silesian Coal Basin that occurred during a period from 1988 to 2006, the above mentioned criterion was verified. It has been found, that 90% of the rockbursts occurred in the area where peak particle velocity (PPV) reached values ranging from 0,05 m/s to 1 m/s. The investigation results presented in this this paper may be used in both the spatial and time table planning of mining operations under predicted high seismicity conditions and the rational choice of support and preventive actions ensuring functionality of mine workings and improvement in work safety level.

Opis:: Numerical simulations of air blast loading in the near-field acting on the ground have been performed. A simplified blast model based on empirical blast loading data representing spherical and hemispherical explosive shapes has been simulated. Conwep is an implementation of the empirical blast models presented by Kingery and Bulmash, which is also implemented in the commercial code LS-DYNA based on work done by Rahnders-Pehrson and Bannister. This makes it possible to simulate blast loads acting on structures representing spherical and hemispherical explosive shapes of TNT with reasonable computational effort as an alternative to the SPH and Eulerian model. The CPU time for the simplified blast model is however considerably shorter and may still be useful in time consuming concept studies. Reasonable numerical results using reasonable model sizes can be achieved not only for modelling near-field explosions in air but most areas of geotechnical. Calculation was compared with blast SPH and Eulerian model.

Opis:: The aim of the article is to present new innovations in electronic banking. In the article the author described many benefits of multicurrency cards, which is unique solution for persons who travel a lot and make payment transactions in different currencies. It was described the role of contactless mobile payments in development of non-cash transactions. Host Card Emulation (HCE) is mobile technology which is making a strong move to be the dominant in mobile payments. Host Card Emulation has enabled banks, merchants, and others participants to bypass the secure element on Android phones in order to access the Near Field Communications chip on smartphones. In the article the author also underlined the role of BLIK system on Polish Market. This system enables customers to generate of check and make money transfers on Android phone number. One -time code is generated for each transaction and this provide high level safety of making contactless mobile payments
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie innowacji w elektronicznych instrumentach płatniczych. Na początku zwrócono uwagę na korzyści karty wielowalutowej, która jest unikalnym rozwiązaniem dla osób dużo podróżujących i przeprowadzających transakcje płatnicze w różnych walutach. Podkreślono ważną rolę mobilnych płatności zbliżeniowych w rozwoju bezgotówkowych transakcji. Szczególnie zwrócono uwagę na płatności mobilne w technologii HCE, które umożliwiają szybkie i bezpieczne przeprowadzanie transakcji przy użyciu telefonu komórkowego. Opisano nowe rozwiązanie płatności mobilnych, które pojawiło się na rynku polskim czyli system BLIK. Unikalną cechą sytemu Polskiego Standardu Płatności jest możliwość generowania czeków oraz dokonywania przelewów na numer telefonu komórkowego. Dla każdej transakcji generowany jest jednorazowy kod i to wpływa na zwiększenie bezpieczeństwa przeprowadzanych transakcji.

Opis:: We numerically studied artifact issues on near-field imaging of field intensity on metal nanostruc-tures (isolated ridges and slits in a continuous film) with an apertured probe. It is shown for the latter case that the interaction between neighboring slits via propagating surface plasmon waves (e.g., surface plasmon wave interferences) makes the probe-imaged field intensity highly condi-tional in reflection of the unperturbed field. As surface plasmon behaviors and probe imaging processes are polarization-sensitive and the field components are correlated, a model analysis of the partial field components elucidates their relations, which can help to derive the unperturbed near-field image from the probed one.

The propagation is studied analytically and numerically using the angular spectrum method and the 2D fast Fourier transformation. Opis:: In the paper we experimentally and theoretically analyze diffraction of light propagating through a microstructured optical fiber on the fiber end face. In the measurements the diffracting light is spatially inhomogeneous and the diffracting object is a solid-state core with a triangular shape. Application of optical system enables detailed experimental investigations of evolution diffraction pattern in the near-field region, in particular, rotation of the observed structure while departing from the fiber end. The experimental results are confirmed with theoretical simulations based on the theory of the Fresnel diffraction.

Opis:: This paper evaluates near ship-ship collision situations in the Tagus River Estuary using a simulation model of ship navigation in restricted waters. The simulation model consists of a ship collision avoidance model based on the Artificial Potential Field (APF) method, which has been improved to account for the lateral distribution of traffic along the route, the ship type and length and speed development of the ships along the trajectory. AIS data of ships entering and leaving the port of Lisbon are analysed to obtain the main characteristics of traffic parameters used as input for the traffic simulation model, such as: the routes of the vessels, speed distribution along the routes, traffic density and characteristics of the ships in each route, among others. First, the improved model of ship navigation and the Monte Carlo simulation technique are used to simulate the marine traffic in the Tagus River Estuary. Then, the concept of “ship domain” is used as collision criterion to determine the number of near collisions and the locations where they are most likely to occur. Finally, the simulation results are compared to the ones obtained from raw AIS data to assess the capability of the simulation model for marine traffic risk analysis.

Opis:: Amplitude and frequency content are two important features of earthquakes that are different for near and far-fault earthquakes and in most of the standards, the effects of near-field earthquakes in loading are not considered. Therefore, study and comparison of these effects on structures is necessary. In this paper, structural operation against near and far fault earthquakes for two near sites and two far sites is investigated. For this purpose and in order to achieve an operation point of a structural model with six staircases with a mean lateral bending frame resistant system seismic hazard information is analyzed with regards to special plan spectrums of 2 different sites using near and far faults. An evaluation of the effects due to near and far fault earthquakes based on the Iran’s standard 2800 ranges on operation point and the comparison of operation effects of near and far fault spectrums with Iran’s standard are results of this research work. After the presentation of results obtained from time history analyses, some suggestions are proposed for design correction based on the regulations in near -field earthquakes. Opis:: In the paper some investigations are presented aiming to check the influence of IC floor plan and the circuit function on its electromagnetic emissions.
