Opis:
This paper describes the detailed methods and process of creating MBD model (Model Based Definition) - presently used in aviation and automotive industry. Existing formats of the Authority dataset have been presented. Using CAD/CAM systems requires introduction of full control of all software used during entire manufacturing process. To maintain DPD (Digital Product Definition) data configuration, controlling production hardware and tools, all media created on the DPD data need to include dataset clear name, revisions level and any other additional unique client identification. There are two methods of reliable verification of data translation or transmission among reality by the use of computer hardware and software. The purpose of this paper is to present new rules of working with CAD/CAM systems in modern enterprises using manufacturing technologies of XXI'st century.

Opis:
Inspired by the multi-agent systems, we propose a model-based distributed control architecture for robotic manipulators. Here, each of the joints of the manipulator is controlled using a joint level controller and these controllers account for the dynamic coupling between the links by interacting among themselves. Apart from the reduced computational time due to distributed computation of the control law at the joint levels, the knowledge of dynamics is fully utilized in the proposed control scheme, unlike the decentralized control schemes proposed in the literature. While the proposed distributed control architecture is useful for a general serial-link manipulator, in this paper, we focus on planar manipulators with revolute joints. We provide a simple model-based distributed control scheme as an illustration of the proposed distributed model-based control architecture. Based on this scheme, distributed model-based controller has been designed for a planar 3R manipulator and simulations results are presented to demonstrate that the manipulator successfully tracks the desired trajectory.

Opis:
A high number of examples in today’s global industry prove that it is difficult to ensure a certain level of quality. One possible reason is the increasing complexity of modern mechatronic product systems. Interface problems due to several involved science disciplines and the lack of understanding subsystems, which are delivered by different suppliers, make it difficult to identify critical components and specifications of elements. Furthermore, it is even harder to estimate the effects of elements because of their unknown dependencies and relations. Therefore it becomes more and more improbable to develop a safe, sustainable and high quality product right from the beginning. In order to understand failures in complex system structures today’s engineering industries need a generic approach that increases the understanding of systems, identifies critical components and considers the different levels of a system. It shall examine failures that cause system errors but also failures that limit system functions. Thus, it is necessary to model and simulate the causally failure chains and analyse over several system levels and elements with their dependencies. This leads to a better understanding of the whole picture of cause and effect. This research paper points out which requirements this new model-based approach has to fulfill and how it is possible to link quality and reliability methods to achieve an overall understanding and analysis of a complex system to assure high quality and sustainability.

This study uses a real population from Statistics Lithuania to investigate the performance of different types of estimation strategies. The estimation strategy is a combination of sampling design and estimation design. The sampling designs include equal probability design (SRS) and unequal probability designs (stratified SRS and model-based sampling designs). Design-based direct Horvitz-Thompson, indirect model-assisted GREG estimator and indirect model-based estimator are used to estimate the totals in small area estimation. The underlying panel-type models (linear fixed-effects type or linear random-effects type) are examined in both stages of estimation strategies: sample design and construction of estimators.

Opis:
Machining accuracy can be considerably affected by deflections of machine tool components and the workpiece. This work presents a new approach for real-time deflection compensation, based on control integrated models. A real-time material removal rate (MRR) simulation determines the depth of cut which is used for process force calculation by Kienzle-Equations. Machine tool and workpiece deflections are then derived from a mechanical model using the calculated process forces. For this purpose, control based signals are used as model inputs. The total deviation is sent to the position controller as a setpoint offset. A dynamometer was applied to validate the simulated process forces. The presented approach was validated for cylindrical turning operations on chucked steel shafts. The experiments were carried out on a high-precision slant bed lathe. The results show, that geometrical errors could be reduced by more than 70% on average.

The paper focuses on latent class models and their application for quantitative data. Latent class modeling is one of multivariate analysis techniques of the contingency table and can be viewed as a special case of model-based clustering, for multivariate discrete data. It is assumed that each observation comes from one of the numbers of subpopulations, with its own probability distribution. We used latent class analysis for grouping and detecting homogeneity of Silesian people using poLCA package of R. We analyzed data collected by the Department of Social Pedagogy, University of Silesia in Katowice.

The increasing interest in applying small area estimation methods urges the needs for training in small area estimation. To better understand the behaviour of small area estimators in practice, simulations are a feasible way for evaluating and teaching properties of the estimators of interest. By designing such simulation studies, students gain a deeper understanding of small area estimation methods. Thus, we encourage to use appropriate simulations as an additional interactive tool in teaching small area estimation methods.

Opis:
The current research was aimed to investigate the effectiveness of psychological treatment on the life quality and coping styles of Shishe abusers, based on the matrix model. The current study was semi-experimental. The statistical population of this research consisted of Shishe abusers in the city of Rasht. The research sample included 20 people who were selected through in access method and were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. The World Health Organization's Life Quality Scale and Parker and Andler's Coping Styles Scale were administered to both groups in form of pretest and posttest. Findings: Findings revealed that participants' scores in therapeutic sessions were significantly higher compared to those in the control group in regard to subscales of problem oriented and emotion oriented coping styles. Also, in relation to life quality subscales, it was determined that experimental group scores in subscales of interpersonal relations, physical health and life requirements were significantly higher than those in the control group. It appears that a psychological therapy, based on a matrix model, cam cause to promote peoples' life quality level and thus offer more effective techniques for coping with negative stresses and emotions.

Assessment of viability of oak seeds is mainly performed by mechanical scarification followed by visual assessment by trained employees. This procedure is slow and prone to human errors, thus automation of this process is desirable. Shortening the design of complex automation systems requires the use of modern methods, allowing for modeling and simulation of systems containing elements of mechanical, electrical and digital components. The article presents selected aspects of the design of control algorithms for the acorn scarification prototype. A virtual prototyping and Model-Based Design (MBD) approach have been used.
W artykule zaprezentowano wybrane aspekty projektowania algorytmów sterujących stanowiska badawczego do skaryfikacji żołędzi. Do rozwoju stanowiska badawczego wykorzystano wirtualne prototypowanie oraz metodykę projektowania opartą na modelu (MBD - ang. Model-Based Design).

Opis:
In this paper, the design and implementation of a nonlinear model‐based predictive controller (NMPC) for predefined trajectory tracking and to minimize the control effort of a smartphone‐based quadrotor are developed. The optimal control actions are calculated in each iteration by means of an optimal control algorithm based on the non‐linear model of the quadrotor, considering some aerodynamic effects. Control algorithm implementation and simulation tests are executed on a smartphone using the CasADi framework. In addition, a technique for estimating the energy consumed based on control signals is presented. NMPC controller performance was compared with other works developed towards the con‐ trol of quadrotors, based on an H∞ controller and an LQI controller, and using three predefined trajectories, where the NMPC average tracking error was around 50% lower, and average estimated power and energy consumption slightly higher, with respect to the H∞ and LQI controllers.

For the case study, the best option was chosen taking into account the restrictions included in the multicriteria analysis for further application. Chosen BLDC motor and battery type were tested on test stands and simulated in MATLAB/Simulink. Simulation model allowed to compare the characteristics from test stands and simulation and next tune the model. Minimum capacity of the batteries had to allow for at least 20 minutes of drive. Chosen elements: electric motor, motor controller, battery cells, BMS allowed to build the first prototype. Tests in real conditions showed the difference between simulation and research system. We could notice what to improve to tune the simulation model and the kart power supply system.
