    This paper undertakes the problem of differentiation of students performance according to the type location in which the student was born, i.e. in a village, in larger or smaller cities. The analysis is performed on the basis of the results the students achieved in secondary schools in 2011. The level of knowledge is measured by the ratio educational value added.

    The article summarizes the results of the pilot study on the implementation of the model of information and communication competencies of the university teaching staff that was conducted at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Ukraine, and describes the basic stages of the research and the conditions of an effective implementation of the model. The article examines ways of improving the quality of higher education in Ukraine in the context of European quality standards for university educational space. The European standards and guidelines are considered in relation to internal quality assurance. The author examines the model of ICT competencies of teaching and research stuff and describes structural components of this model: motivational target component, organizational and procedural com- ponent, contents and operational and technological component, diagnostic and effective components. The article suggests tools to measure the level of educators’ formation in the ICT competence of teaching and research stuff. The tools are considered in accordance with the form activities of teaching and research stuff. The tools are formed in accordance with the recommendations of UNESCO Standards and Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area, namely: understanding and awareness of the role of ICT in education, and basic use of ICT tools.

    The concept of the quality of consumer products and services is fairly well defined. Although today quality of life, including quality of education and training, is a commonly discussed topic, one has to admit that the evaluation system of educational processes and the quality of work of educational institutions is surprisingly low. At the same time, the modernization processes in the system of universities forces basing development decisions , including funding, on achieved indicators of work effects of universities. Existing, domestic and international, external and internal quality assurance systems of university work have been criticized for arbitrariness, unilateralism (eg. the criteria exclusively on the results of teaching, or solely on the results of research), ambiguity of the methodology, unreliability of sources of used data, etc. This means that further inquiry to identify their strengths and weaknesses as well as the directions of their consolidation in the complex policy tool for scientific, educational and social decisions is necessary.

    Szkolnictwo wyższe stoi przed wyzwaniem ciągłego rozwijania umiędzynarodowienia, intensyfikowania zakresu, form i obszarów aktywności zagranicznej. Dla planowania i skutecznej realizacji strategii rozwoju niezbędny jest pomiar efektów, ukierunkowany na analizę, ocenę i doskonalenie działalności o wymiarze międzynarodowym. Problematyka pomiaru internacjonalizacji szkół wyższych jest złożona i wymaga uwzględnienia szeregu uwarunkowań, wynikających z roli i specyfiki działalności, określenia zasad, celów, zakresu i sposobów mierzenia założonych rezultatów. Celem rozważań podjętych w artykule jest opis istoty, uwarunkowań, form pomiaru internacjonalizacji oraz przesłanek formułowania i doboru miar, wskaźników uwzględniających zakres i specyfikę działalności uczelni. Podkreślając konieczność dokonywania pomiaru internacjonalizacji uczelni w ujęciu jakościowym i ilościowym, zwrócono uwagę na aspekty związane ze strategicznym, kompleksowym podejściem do mierzenia internacjonalnych wartości i korzyści. Wnioski końcowe dotyczą rekomendacji, odnoszących się do planowania pomiaru internacjonalizacji, uwarunkowań formułowania oraz doboru miar i wskaźników. Dla realizacji celów badawczych przyjętych w artykule posłużono się metodą analizy literatury i dokumentów.
    Higher education faces the challenge of continuously developing of inter-nationalisation, intensifying the scope, forms and areas of international activity. The measurement of effects, focused on the analysis, assessment and improvement of activities with an international dimension is essential for the planning and effective implementation of the development strategy. The issue of measuring the internationalisation of higher education institutions is complex and requires taking into account a number of conditions resulting from the role and specificity of the activity, defining the principles, objectives, scope and methods of measuring the assumed results. The aim of the considerations undertaken in the article is to describe the nature, conditions, forms of internationalisation measurement and the premises of formulating and selection of measures, indicators taking into account the scope and specificity of the university's activity. Emphasizing the need to measure the internationalisation of universities in qualitative and quantitative terms, the attention was paid to aspects related to a strategic, comprehensive approach to measuring international values and benefits. The final conclusions concern recommendations related to planning the measurement of inter-nationalisation, conditions of formulation and selection of measures and indicators. In order to achieve the research objectives adopted in the article, the method of analysing literature and documents was used.

    This article is aimed to show differences in quality of life regarding education and employment in a given area. The research hypothesis assumes the presence of the difference in quality of life across Poland and of interrelation between the quality of life and the living standards. The studies were conducted on a group of respondents selected intentionally from three provinces. The provinces were selected using a multidimensional analysis and the criterion for selection was the living standards of Polish residents. The studies were conducted as part of the individual Research Grant launched in 2011 under the title: “Living standards and quality of life among Polish residents” 1708/B/H03/2011/40 from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

    Wypalenie zawodowe tradycyjnie jest wiązane z zawodami tzw. pomocowymi, społecznymi, z misją. Należy do nich zawód nauczyciela czy pedagoga, których wykonywanie wiąże się z dużą odpowiedzialnością. Wszelkie dysfunkcje i obniżona sprawność w ich pracy mogą mieć znaczące skutki (także społeczne). Niniejsze opracowanie przedstawia syndrom wypalenia zawodowego wśród pracowników oświaty (zwłaszcza nauczycieli), z uwzględnieniem czynników sprzyjających wypaleniu o charakterze indywidualnym, interpersonalnym i organizacyjnym. Starano się przy tym wskazać specyfikę organizacyjną i społeczną charakteryzującą polską edukację. Celem opracowania jest wskazanie, w jaki sposób zjawisko wypalenia było badane w Polsce w ostatniej dekadzie i zaproponowanie alternatywnych metod pomiaru. Autorka postawiła pytania: co było najczęstszym przedmiotem badań i jakich narzędzi pomiarowych używali badacze? Dokonano analizy wybranych kilkudziesięciu publikacji prezentujących wyniki badań empirycznych, które dotyczyły wypalenia zawodowego wśród pracowników polskiej oświaty (opublikowanych w latach 2010–2020). Dzięki temu udało się ustalić dominujące obszary i metody badań w tym zakresie, wskazać ich ograniczenia i przedstawić alternatywne propozycje.
    Burnout is traditionally associated with the so-called helping profession, welfare, social, mission. This also includes the teaching profession, which involves great responsibility. Any dysfunctions and reduced efficiency in the work of a teacher may have major, including social, consequences. This study presents the burnout syndrome among educational workers (especially teachers), taking into account factors contributing to individual, interpersonal and organizational burnout. At the same time, efforts were made to indicate the organizational and social specificity of education in Poland. The aim of the study is to indicate how the problem of burnout was studied in Poland in the 2010–2020. The author was aimed to determine the most common subject of research and what measurement tools were used by the researchers. An analysis was conducted of dozens of selected publications presenting the results of empirical research on occupational burnout among employees in the Polish education system (published in 2010–2020). As a result, it was possible to identify the dominant areas and methods of research in this area, indicate their limitations, and present alternatives.

    Artykuł jest obszerną wersją wyników badań nad ocenianiem w powszechnej edukacji muzycznej. Ze względu na wielość i złożoność problemów związanych z czynnościami oceniania na lekcjach muzyki, głównie leżących po stronie zróżnicowanych zdolności muzycznych uczniów, a co za tym idzie uznaniowości, chwilowości, subiektywizmu, atrybucji i innych zmiennych zakłócających procesy oceniania, wątek ten stał się niezwykle interesujący i jednocześnie trudny do badania. Przedstawione wyniki stanowią asumpt do dalszych eksploracji badawczych w tym zakresie.
    The article is an extensive version of research on the (process of) assessment in general music education. Due to the plurality and complexity of problems related to the activities of assessment during the music lessons, mainly owing to the pupils' diversified musical aptitudes, and, consequently, to discretion, temporariness, subjectiveness, attribution and other variables disrupting the process of assessment, this very motif has became very intriguing and at the same time, difficult to be examined. The results presented do constitute the basis for further research explorations in this matter.

    Opis:
    Modern science and technology are founded on the belief in the rationality and mathematical structure of the world. Learning about it, the progress and quality of our lives are related to the popularization of thinking about mathematical education as equipping students with the competencies necessary to read the Galilean “Book of Nature.” The article presents the idea of a mathematical understanding of reality and the leading emotional-volitional and instrumental competencies that should be provided to students of elementary education in order to shape their beliefs about the effectiveness of this way of cognition and support them in acquiring appropriate knowledge and skills. In terms of field-specific and social competencies, it is about: awakening cognitive curiosity, building the attitude of epistemic and ethical optimism, belief in the inevitability and cognitive value of error, developing the ability to cooperate and compete in small groups, and to shape the attitude of researcher reliability. In terms of instrumental competencies, these would be: the ability to model phenomena at the level of substitutes (simulations), knowledge of numbers, decimal positional system and four arithmetic operations, the understanding of measurement and practical knowledge of measures, the ability to problematize phenomena from the natural world, having elementary knowledge of heuristics, a certain level of calculation efficiency and knowledge of basic geometric figures.
    Współczesna nauka i technologia ufundowane są na przekonaniu o racjonalności i matematycznej strukturze świata. Jego poznawanie, postęp i jakość naszego życia są związane z upowszechnieniem myślenia o edukacji matematycznej jako wyposażaniu uczniów w kompetencje konieczne do odczytywania Galileuszowej „Księgi Natury”. W artykule przybliżono ideę matematycznego rozumienia rzeczywistości oraz wiodące kompetencje emocjonalno-wolicjonalne i narzędziowe, w które należałoby wyposażyć uczniów edukacji elementarnej, by ukształtować ich przekonania odnośnie do efektywności tej drogi poznania oraz wesprzeć w pozyskaniu stosownej wiedzy i umiejętności. W zakresie kompetencji kierunkowych i społecznych chodzi o: rozbudzanie ciekawości poznawczej, budowanie postawy optymizmu epistemicznego i etycznego, przekonanie o nieuniknioności i wartości poznawczej błędu, rozwijanie umiejętności współdziałania i rywalizacji w małych grupach oraz o kształtowanie postawy rzetelności badacza. W zakresie kompetencji narzędziowych byłyby to: umiejętność modelowania zjawisk na poziomie zastępników (symulacji), znajomość liczb, dziesiątkowego systemu pozycyjnego i czterech działań arytmetycznych, rozumienie pomiaru i praktyczna znajomość miar, umiejętność problematyzacji zjawisk ze świata natury, posiadanie elementarnej wiedzy z zakresu heurystyki, pewien poziom sprawności kalkulacyjnej oraz znajomość podstawowych figur geometrycznych.
