In the context of Aquinian ethics, virtue points out that friendly love, as a unique phenomenon of human beings, is not necessary and therefore not only permits but also requires it to be developed through education.

Marriage and the family is a reality widely described in the natural order and the temporal by various scientific disciplines such as psychology, sociology, pedagogy, biology and others. John Paul II embeds it in the supernatural and eternal . Spousal aspect of love, life in masculinity and femininity, love which is called by the sacrament of marriage have become the subject of reflection of Karol Wojtyla - John Paul II , and today they demand a new reading, reminders and showing great concern about the smallest structure of social life.

Love of neighbor originates in a rightly ordered love of self; though it appears contradictory at first blush, this relationship of the two loves underlies the Christian understanding of love. In order to get a clearer picture, we must examine the notion of the common good. The common good holds a prominent place within the teachings of St. Thomas Aquinas and illuminates the relationship of self-love and love of neighbor. Modern Catholic philosophy has often struggled with how the common good should be interpreted, with personalists in particular coming under fire. Looking at the monastic life described by St. Aelred of Rievaulx we can glean some insight into how we might embrace a personalist understanding of the common good.

This article explores the potential of digital games to encode references encompassing specific cultural ideas of romantic love within their spatial structures, thus helping guide the player’s interpretation of romance as they interact with and move through those spaces. It undertakes an analysis of romantic subplots in BioWare’s fantasy role-playing games, specifically those which reappropriate the courtly love trope, and discusses elements of that remediation which rely heavily on spatial metaphors and structures, including the shared experience of heroic journey, the role of questing for the development of romance, and spatial positioning of lovers on the game map. Through its analysis, the article explores how digital games can employ spatial rhetoric while approaching topics of love, and how they are equipped to represent the materiality and spatiality of love and love narratives.

The goal of this paper is to present the results of qualitative research on the methods of metaphorising erotic love by heterosexual women and men. The analyses refer to two phases of a romantic relationship, i.e., falling in love and being in a relationship. The research is based on the cognitive theories of metaphor by George Lakoff and Mark Johnson. The analysis of orientational metaphors showed that love is experienced as disorientation and relationship as a hierarchical system. Ontological metaphors describe love as elements, chemical processes, objects and alive beings. Structural metaphors refer to consumption (love as a gift, a valuable resource, capital), work (love as a building, project, a learning process, therapeutic work), entertainment (love as a game, a journey, a mystery), conflict (love as war, diplomacy, internal conflict) and disease. The analysis of the empirical works points out to the differences in the way love is metaphorised in its phases and in the experiences of the participants in a relationship. The present study reveals that women have a wider vocabulary for metaphorising love than men, and the gender differences are rooted in individual contexts.
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie wyników eksploracyjnych badań jakościowych dotyczących sposobów metaforyzowania miłości erotycznej przez heteroseksualne kobiety i mężczyzn. Analizy odnoszą się do dwóch faz relacji miłosnej – zakochania oraz bycia w związku. Badania bazują na kognitywnej teorii metafory George’a Lakoffa i Marka Johnsona. Analiza metafor orientacyjnych pokazała, że zakochanie doświadczane jest jako dezorientacja, natomiast związek jako układ hierarchiczny. Metafory ontologiczne pozwoliły opisać miłość jako żywioły, procesy chemiczne, przedmioty oraz żywe istoty. Metafory strukturalne nawiązywały do konsumpcji (miłość jako dar, cenny zasób, kapitał), pracy (miłość jako budowa, projekt, nauka, praca terapeutyczna), rozrywki (miłość jako gra, podróż, zagadka), konfliktu (miłość jako wojna, dyplomacja, walka wewnętrzna) oraz choroby. Analiza materiału empirycznego pokazała różnice w sposobie metaforyzowania miłości dotyczące zarówno jej faz, jak i doświadczeń uczestników wynikających z etapu bycia w związku. Okazało się, że kobiety metaforyzują miłość w sposób bardziej złożony niż mężczyźni. Różnice między płciami dotyczą również poszczególnych kontekstów.

This essay is intended to break through the stagnation and stagnation that dominates the world of today’s philosophy and to draw a new horizon for it. The question of the nature of nothingness influenced the thinkers of different epochs and geographical latitudes, among others. Lao-tzu, Chaung-tzu, Solomon, Buddha, Pascal, Nietzsche, Bergson or Heidegger. It is believed that the philosophy of European culture began with Plato, who first raised the question of the nature of existence. Existence and matter, however, are microscopic dimensions of a fragment of the universe. From the point of view of the average density of the universe, the world we consider as existing is as universal as the 3 ants to the size of our planet. Since its inception, European philosophy has focused on these three ants. We, however, found it more appropriate to focus our cognitive effort not only on the aforementioned ants, but also on the planet on which they live. We think that nothingness should be considered merely as non-existence, in other words a logical counterweight to existence. Nothing on one side contains, and on the other exceeds relative niceness and existence. We called it transcendental or absolute nothingness. Nothingness is also the supreme form of knowledge, which absolute being has manifested to the human race, but also the way leading through infinity and eternity back to absolute being. I have called this relationship ‹the principle of nothingness›.

The article aims to reconstruct the conceptualization of KÆRLIGHED (LOVE) in Old Danish (1100–1515). In the first part of the study, the structure of the concept in Old Danish is analyzed, and parallels are drawn to the modern-day concept of KÆRLIGHED, the most significant differences being registered in the subcategories of PATRIOTISM and ROMANTIC LOVE, as well as in connection with the sense ‘love to do’. In the following parts of the study, the most important aspects and conceptual metaphors of Old Danish KÆRLIGHED are revealed, demonstrating a great influence of Christian values. Lastly, the nouns ælskhugh and kærlikhet are analyzed, and the difference between them is described as a different profiling of the various aspects of KÆRLIGHED, such as JOY and PLEASURE.

The goal of this paper is to increase knowledge about the social definition of love in the context of an intimate relationship. The empirical material analyzed comes from Focus Group Interviews, Bulletin Board Discussions online, and representative research conducted using the CAWI method. The research was an exploratory study, and the analyzed material presents one thematic area concerning how participants understand love and the importance they attribute to it in the duration of an intimate relationship. The first part of the paper will present thematic areas related to the attempt to understand what love is that were indicated by the respondents at the stage of qualitative research. The second part of the article will present the typology of attitudes towards love on the basis of the analysis of data derived from quantitative research. The following types were distinguished: optimists in love, waiting for love, rationalists in love, distanced from love.
Celem niniejszej publikacji jest poszerzenie wiedzy na temat społecznego definiowania miłości w kontekście związku intymnego. Analizowany materiał empiryczny pochodzi z grupowych wywiadów fokusowych, Bulletin Board Discussion on-line oraz badań reprezentatywnych prowadzonych metodą CAWI. Badania miały charakter eksploracyjny. Analizowany materiał przedstawia jeden wątek tematyczny dotyczący tego, w jaki sposób uczestnicy badania rozumieją miłość oraz jakie przypisują jej znaczenie w trwaniu związku intymnego. W pierwszej części artykułu zostaną przedstawione wątki tematyczne związane z próbą uchwycenia, czym jest miłość, które wskazali badani na etapie badań jakościowych. W drugiej części artykułu przedstawiona zostanie typologia postaw wobec miłości na podstawie analiz danych pochodzących z badań ilościowych. Zostały wyróżnione typy: optymiści w miłości, czekający na miłość, racjonaliści w miłości, zdystansowani do miłości.

Bernard of Clairvaux’s account of mystical love was already famous in the 12th century and it gained many followers, among whom Bernard’s first biographer, William of Saint-Thierry, should be given first mention. The doctrine had also its opponents, for example in Peter Abelard, who argued that it presented a concept of egoistic love; he himself tried to put forward his own view of charitable and selfless love. In Bernard’s writings, the influences of Greek Platonism from the works of Pseudo-Dionysius and Saint Augustine’s version of western Platonism are joined in a coherent unity. The distinct novum is Bernard’s stress on freedom. He clearly states that love arises from freedom; freedom is a condition of the beginning of love, and it relies on the rejection of enslaving fear and overpowering lust. What is more, this freedom of will (liberum arbitrum) constitutes the dignity of man. “Dignitatem in homine liberum arbitrium dico” – this statement from "De diligendo Deo" is reminiscent of the characteristics of dignity that can be found in Renaissance humanists like Coluccio Salutati, Marsilio Ficino, Nicholas of Cusa, Petro Pomponazzi, Carolus Bovillus, Erasmus of Rotterdam, and first of all Giovanni Pico della Mirandola. Bernard’s doctrine of love can be described as mystical, because it refers only to God, and it is completed only with God and through God. Bernard’s favourite subject for commentary, and that of his Cistercian followers, was the Song of Songs. He wrote many homilies on it, which were gathered, after his death, into an impressive commentary, where the final expression of Cistercian “nuptial mysticism” can be found. In its essence, it draws the ultimate conclusions of the biblical statement that God is Love (1 J 4,8). Bernard calls love the law (lex) that is the internal life of God, and which externalizes itself in the act of creation. It is total love, all-encompassing, available to everyone, almighty, salvific and beatifying. Man has a special place on this scale of love, as he is a rational and free being created in the image and likeness of God. This 'imago' and 'similitudo Dei' entails above all the possibility of love.
Koncepcja mistycznej miłości św. Bernarda stała się słynna jeszcze w XII wieku i zyskała licznych zwolenników, z których przede wszystkim należy wymienić pierwszego biografa Bernarda, Wilhelma z Saint-Thierry. Doktryna ta miała też swoich przeciwników, do których zaliczał się przede wszystkim Piotr Abelard, zarzucający jej egoizm i usiłujący przeciwstawić jej swoją koncepcję miłości bezinter esownej. W pismach św. Bernarda uzyskują pewną postać spójnej jedności wpływy greckiego platonizmu z pism Pseudo-Dionizego oraz wpływy platonizmu zachodniego w wersji św. Augustyna. Wyraźnym novum jest to akcent, który pada na wolność. Cysters wyraźnie stwierdza, że miłość rodzi się z wolności; warunkiem jej zapoczątkowania jest właśnie wolność, polegająca na odrzuceniu zniewalającego człowieka strachu lub równie obezwładniającej pożądliwości. Co więcej, ta wolność woli (liberum arbitrum) stanowi o godności człowieka. Dignitatem in homine liberum arbitrium dico – ta formuła z "De diligendo Deo" przypomina bardzo określenia godności, jakie znajdujemy u renesansowych humanistów, takich jak chociażby Coluccio Salutati, Marsilio Ficino, Mikołaj z Kuzy, Petro Pomponazzi, Carolus Bovillus, Erazm z Rotterdamu, a przede wszystkim Giovanni Pico della Mirandola. Doktrynę miłości opata z Jasnej Doliny możemy określić mianem mistycznej, gdyż odnosi się ona wyłącznie do Boga, dokonuje się dla Boga i dzięki Bogu. Można też powiedzieć, że była to „mistyka miłosna”. Z tego też względu ulubionym przedmiotem komentarzy Bernarda, a następnie jego cysterskich kontynuatorów, była Pieśń nad pieśniami. Sam Bernard przez całe życie pisał homilie na jej temat, skomponowane już po jego śmierci w imponujący komentarz. Tam też znajduje się ostateczny wyraz cysterskiej „mistyki oblubieńczej”. W swej istocie stanowi ona wyprowadzenie ostatecznych konsekwencji z biblijnego stwierdzenia, że Bóg jest miłością (1 J 4,8). Bernard nazywa miłość „prawem” (lex), które jest wewnętrznym życiem Boga i które uzewnętrznia się w akcie stwórczym. Jest to miłość totalna, wszystko ogarniająca, wszystkim dostępna, wszechmogąca, zbawcza i uszczęśliwiająca. Szczególne miejsce na tej skali miłości ma człowiek, byt rozumny i wolny, stworzony na obraz i podobieństwo Boga. W tym 'imago' i 'similitudo Dei' zawiera się przede wszystkim możność miłowania.

In the article the emotion of love is discussed, based on reference books for travelers. Selected phrasebooks for German and Polish users were researched, starting from their first issues dating back to the 16th century to new publications from the early 21st century. The aim of the paper is to establish, whether in the phrasebooks, which in principle present language behavior in typical everyday life situations, love motifs are present, and whether there are any differences in this area in the perspective of time. In addition, picture motifs, which are related to the above mentioned topic, are also briefly discussed here.

The article presents the developmental approach to the Sternberg’s theory which introduces love as the trilayers phenomenon. This approach enables the adoption of a developmental perspective to understand the experience of love. Assuming that individuals develop from biological to social being, the article describes biological, psychological and sociocultural factors that influence three aspects of love. The article also describes interactions between this aspects. This layered approach allows understanding of the infl uence of conation, emotional and cognitive processes on three love layers: intimacy, passion, and commitment. The metaphor of layers helps to understand the diffi culties in forming intimate relationships.

This article refers to the tradition of the ‘spring’ motif in art and literature, especially in the Young Poland period. The issue the author brings under close scrutiny is how the symbolism of spring is used in the dramatic work The Return of Spring by Tadeusz Konczyński. She draws out attention to the portrait of the female protagonist, who shows reminiscence of mythological Venus as well as embodiment of youth, simplicity and spontaneity. Then she proceeds to analyse the symbolism of spring as the time that stimulates the birth of feelings and initiates long-lasting and genuine bonds, which counterbalance “the parlour love” with its pragmatic dimension. The key notion of the symbolics of spring is also incorporated into the opposition: nature-culture. Here it is linked to the vision of the world returning to nature, the world deeply rooted in the traditional system of values, where man may experience spiritual rebirth and regain faith in their existence after a period of life turbulence. After all, spring symbolises creative inspiration. The latter reveals itself both in the context of creating a literary work by the protagonist and in the universal dimension – the act of moulding of one’s self and one’s life. The deliberations lead the dialogue of the the writer’s dramatic work with the tradition of the Young Poland movement.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the modern experience of love, to which the entire narrative of the Planter of Malata has been devoted. The modern approach to the subject will be understood here as the penetration of the sacred sphere into the domain of the profane. Thanks to this mechanism, it becomes possible to create the expression of an indirect, confused, quasi-sacred experience. Conrad’s protagonist thus sees a woman in terms of “sanctity,” which will be interpreted in terms of “modern idolatry” (J.-L. Marion), eliminating any distance between the worshiper and the object of worship. The main scope of the analyses will concern the consequences that result from the starting point established in this way. Conrad’s text confirms the assumption that “pain is a sign and a means of contact with the divine” (D. Morris), but at the same time indicates many levels at which this process takes place.

The author analyzes different kinds of love: love of oneself, love between man and woman, maternal and paternal love, children's love as well as brotherly love. The essence of love is to enlighten the intellect. Love is free, love evokes love, it unites, overcomes itself (forgets about „I”, leaves the „I”). Natural love ought to be transformed into personal love. It is not an easy and gentle process because of the forces which act against love in the world and in a man himself. It reveals the conflict between nature and the person. The Christian tradition shows three ways of reaching perfection: the way of purification, enlightening, and union. The way of purification requires negative pedagogy (that is first of all struggling with evil inside a man), and the way of enlightening – positive pedagogy (realization of good). The postulate of educational optimism is also important.

Szczególny wymiar ma miłość małżeńska, ponieważ odzwierciedla ona miłość Boga do człowieka. Nieodpowiednie przeżywanie miłości małżeńskiej wynika z niezrozumienia jej istoty. Miłość jest podstawą jedności małżeństwa oraz realizowanych w nim wartości. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia przeżywanie miłości małżeńskiej we Wspólnocie Przyjaciele Oblubieńca. Przeprowadzone badania dowiodły, że należy zwrócić uwagę na kształtowanie postawy wzajemności w relacjach wielu par małżeńskich. Obszar stanowiący wyzwanie dla formacji związany jest także z przeżywaniem małżeńskiej więzi seksualnej. Duszpasterską troską należy objąć dojrzewanie miłości małżeńskiej.
Everyone experiences love. It is inscribed in human life. In the light of the Church’s teaching, love is a virtue through which one can love God and others. Marital love has a special dimension because it reflects God’s love for humans. A confused experience of marital love results from a misunderstanding of its essence. Love is the basis of the unity of marriage and the values realized in it. This article presents the experience of marital love in Friends of the Bridegroom Community. The conducted research showed that attention should be paid to shaping the attitude of reciprocity in the relations of many married couples. An area that is challenging for formation is also associated with experiencing marital sexual bond. Pastoral care should embrace the maturation of marital love.

The reason for this is the lack of a sense of justice. Especially because in the social and cultural context the truth is often relativized. In this context it is worth analysing the Pope Benedict XVI’s encyclical Caritas in Veritate , in which one should pay attention to a construction of the society in which today’s human person lives.Love and truth are the two attributes of a good society in with each human is equipped. From the very beginning, the human person is called to be directed by love and truth. He or she is called to this truth by his or her Christian life and ontic dimension of his or her nature. Society without love and truth will be threatened with agony, because it will not only stop developing but also its wrongly understood economical status will become a road to nowhere. That is why we should definitely accept the thesis that homo economicus must convert into homo religiosus in the name of love and truth, so that society will be good. Let love in truth leads to a good society, which the whole world is for us.

In this article I will discuss the issue of narcissism, which I see as one of the causes of hedonism in the contemporary society. I am of the opinion that self-love and orientation of man to own good, the uniqueness of their own people, entertainment and pleasure, ultimately causing a negative impact on the morale of individuals and their mental health as well as on society as a whole. I analyze different causes and types of narcissism, more detailed features of each type of narcissism, its effects on individuals and the socio-cultural sphere. Hedonism explain it is through the phenomenon of narcissism, which is an integral part of every human being, but not in all cases have harmful consequences. In this article I particularly inspired, among other famous psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud, as well as Erich Fromm. According to Fromm's theory, I decided to replace and often confused with narcissism synonymous with self-love.

The aim of this article is to analyze Raja Halwani’s concept of “romantic love.” Her main thesis is that romantic love is an emotion. The author of the article tries to look at the concept from the perspective of the social sciences, juxtaposing it with selected notions of romantic love from the border of sociology, social philosophy, and theology. He considers that the approach according to which romantic love is presented as an emotional state may be interesting not only for the psychologist but also for the philosopher or sociologist. He points out that love as an emotion is not subject to moral judgments. Finally, he concludes that when considering romantic love from a sociological point of view, its emotional basis should not be overlooked, but closing the phenomenon in the purely emotional sphere seems to be a methodological error.

Opis:

W pracy wyznaczono liczby Love’a dla pływów drugiego i trzeciego stopnia (liczby k2 i k3). Wyznaczenie przeprowadzono na podstawie danych SLR satelitów LAGEOS-1 i LAGEOS-2 za okres 1.01.2014-1.01.2016. Uzyskane wyniki porównano z naszym wcześniejszym wyznaczeniem dla okresu 1.01.2005-1.01.2007 w celu oceny ich zmiany w czasie oraz wskazania ewentualnych zmian systematycznych. Otrzymane wartości parametrów k2 i k3 wynoszą odpowiednio: 0,29867±0,0001 i 0,0898±0,0047 (dane LAGEOS-1) oraz 0,29858±0,0001 i 0,0867±0,0047 (dane LAGEOS-2). Różnią się one od wartości uzyskanych w naszej poprzedniej pracy [25] o –0,00293 (dane LAGEOS-1) i –0,00202 (dane LAGEOS-2) dla liczby k2 oraz o –0,0091 (dane LAGEOS-1) i 0,0057 (dane LAGEOS-2) dla liczby k3. Różnice te mogą wskazywać na wystąpienie zmiany w czasie wartości k2 i k3.
In this paper, we present the estimated Love numbers for degree 2 and 3 (k2 and k3). The determination was based on the Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) data of LAGEOS-1 and LAGEOS-2 satellites obtained within the period of January 1, 2014 until January 1, 2016. The results were compared with our previous determination of these parameters for the period from January 1, 2005 until January 1, 2007 to examine whether any systematic differences and time evolution occur. The adjusted values for the k2 and k3 parameters are, 0.29867±0.0001 and 0.0898±0.0047 (LAGEOS-1 data), respectively and 0.29858±0.0001 and 0.0867±0.0047 (LAGEOS-2 data). The discrepancies between the k2 and k3 values obtained in our previous paper [25] and this analysis are: –0.00293 (LAGEOS-1 data) and –0.00202 (LAGEOS-2 data) for k2 and –0.0091 (LAGEOS-1 data) and 0.0057 (LAGEOS-2 data) for k3. The obtained discrepancies in the k2 and k3 values may indicate their change over time.

Love as one of important feelings in human emotional, cognitive and social life has always attracted attention of the researchers: psychologists, linguists, philosophers, ethnologists, etc. We may speak about extralinguistic and linguistic ways of love manifestation. To linguistic ones belong, of course, stylistic means, which include lexical, syntactic, phonetic, and semasiological level. The author focuses on lexical-syntactical means of expressing love in two Slavic languages, Czech and Slovak, using linguocognitive and cultural approach. This research is inspired by the GRID project, which aimed at study of 24 emotion terms in 35 languages

This paper presents the meaning of the concept of love in philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. Love in its proper form is a kind of intoxication (Rausch), therefore it is an expression of feeling of power. Besides there are also distorted types of love. There are love of the herd, which is one of the modest virtue, and Christian love as manifestation of the greatness weakness. The main aim of this paper is to demonstrate, that despite of relatively few fragments of Nietzsche’s works about love, love in his philosophy is an important component of reality. This applies especially to perfect love, which is manifestation of the being itself in its greatest fullness.

This article examines the concept of precarity from a feminist perspective, focused on love and affective labour, critically addressing the gender inequalities of neoliberal capitalism. The romantic, heterosexual model of love, typical for modern Western societies, has been dismantled and criticized in various ways, leading to contradictory solutions, which include its annihilation, sublation and modification, as well as (rather conservative) efforts to preserve it. However, love – in its different versions, both as theory and in practice – still provides models and solutions, not only for the neoliberal labour market and new forms of exploitation and expropriation of care and affective labour, but also for revolutionary ideas and transformations, among both feminists and Marxists. It thus requires a theory focusing on the sublation, rather than annihilation, of love’s past models. In my article I build such a perspective, signalling its potential for resistance and models for revolution in the times of neoliberal capitalism.

What causes this apparent discrepancy? Not only is there a difference between good and bad self-love, such that bad self-love must be eradicated, but there is also the cessation of the act of good self-love as the soul progresses spiritually. Then only the love for God remains in act within the perfection of charity and Union with God.

Die Ehe enshteht aus dem Geheimnis der uralten Gottes Liebe zu Menschen. Das auf die Offenbarung hingestellte Magisterium der Kirche, immer sucht Wege um diese Wahrheit besser zu ausdrücken. Eine doktrinäre Richtung , die durch die Konstitution „Gaudium et spes” bestimmt wurde , hat gezeigt, daß das Streben nach der Entwicklung der Doktrin de matrimonio eine Darstellung der Ehe als institutum amoris coniugalis voraussetzt. Ebendeshalb der Papst Johannes Paul II., der in seiner Lehre theologisch-anthropologische Tiefe der ehelichen Kommunion enthüllt, bezeichnet die Ehe konsequent als „Bund der ehelichen Liebe”. Die päpstliche „Leibtheologie” offenbart eine genetische und ontologisch-existenzielle Verbindung zwischen der ehelichen communio personarum und der Kommunion der Personen von Trinität. Jene trinitarische Analogie, deren ein fundamentales Prinzip eben die Liebe ist, ermöglicht im volleren Licht die Natur der Ehe zu erkennen. Man kann folglich erwarten, daß der theologisch und kanonistisch relevante Begriff:, foedus amoris coniugalis” neue Impulse zu wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen weitergeben wird.

Artykuł skupia się na etycznym aspekcie „Familiaris consortio”; na tle szeregu zagadnień duszpasterskich. Kwestia etyki, która towarzyszyła publikacja tego dokumentu wynika z wahań i oczekiwań wywołanych przez silny sprzeciw wobec nauczania zawartego w encyklice „Humanae vitae” Pawła VI. Wezwanie nie bezpośrednio angażować się w spór z przeciwnikami z nauczaniem Kościoła, ale oferuje pozytywną prezentację całego nauczania związanego z powołaniem do małżeństwa i założenia rodziny. W dokumencie, powołanie jest podstawową w kategorii teologiczno-moralnej, która wyjaśnia i uzasadnia istotne wymagania moralne małżeństwa i rodziny oraz mówi o ludzkim życiu na poziomie świętości. Powołanie to ma swoje źródło w Bożym planie zbawienia i objawia się wraz z realizacją dzieła zbawienia w Jezusie Chrystusie.
The article focuses on the ethical aspect of Familiaris consortio against the backdrop of a range of pastoral issues. The ethical question that accompanied the publication of this document stemmed from the hesitations and expectations triggered by a strong opposition to the teaching contained in the encyclical Humanae vitae of Paul VI. The exhortation does not directly engage in controversy with the opponents of the teaching of the Church, but offers a positive presentation of the entire body of teaching on the vocation of marriage and the family. In this document, vocation is a basic theological-moral category that explains and justifies the essential moral demands of marriage and the family and puts human life on the level of sanctity. This vocation has its source in God's plan of salvation and is revealed together with the accomplishment of the work of salvation in Jesus Christ. The mystery of this vocation is present in the history of mankind as concealed and at the same time revealed in the mystery of Christ and the Church. This vocation sheds significant light on the creation of man and woman, which is the creation of the family based on the foundation of marriage. Hence anthropological truth has a sacramental dimension. This vocation, while permeating internally the created reality, places in the very depth of being the insuppressible calling „Family, become what you are" (FC, 17). God the Creator and Redeemer entrusted to humans - a man and a woman - the task to build a family by the power of the same Love through which the world and human beings exist; it is also the selfsame Love that the Son of God revealed on the Cross when He established a new order of creation. Since then the truth of human existence and the truth of love must be interpreted only in the light of the Paschal mystery. The calling which flows from the depths of the sacrament speaks by the power of grace in the heart of the married couple, in the heart of the husband and wife, who are called to love one another with the same Love that springs from the Mystery of the Cross. This concept of vocation that follows from the sacramental character of Christian existence is the key to resolving particular questions that might arise in the context of married life. The vision represented by Familiaris consortio is uniform and charismatic; it is both theological and anthropological because it pertains to the human being as a human being, not just a „human individual" ensnared by conjugal bonds. In Familiaris consortio there is one conjugal norm and one parental norm: it is always the same Love that flows from God's Heart and through the sacrament permeates the hearts of the spouses. That is why conjugal love is parental love, a love that is responsible for the sanctity of giving birth to life and thus for the sanctity of God the Creator and the dignity of the human being called to be born into the world. Conjugal love and parental love cannot exist without conjugal chastity. To all likelihood here lies the main cause of resistance to the teaching expressed in Humanae vitae. Familiaris consortio rejects any contraceptive manipulation by emphasizing the contradiction inherent in the contraceptive attitude not only with Divine Law but also with the essence of humanity. This stance is contained in the statement that between proper conjugal life and contraception there is not only a moral difference but also an anthropological one (FC, 32). This is a harsh but true judgment on the practice of contraception: all those who use contraception descend to a sub-human level.

Love, which according to Pope Benedict XVI is the essence of Christianity, must be re–presented (presented anew) today, because God loves everyone without exception. The message of divine love must also be properly explained. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to present  theological and moral truth about God who loves and is love in the light of the teaching of Pope Benedict XVI contained in the encyclical Deus caritas est. The work shows reciprocal love of God and man, with particular emphasis on the priority of God’s love. The issue of human response to God’s love, which finds its fulfillment in the commandment of love, is further illustrated. Moreover, the relationship between the love of God and the love of neighbor, which have always been interpreted together, has been presented.

Opis:

Discourse, understood as language practices, sets the boundaries of perceiving the world and plays a critical role in organizing cultural and social practices. Individualism discourse seems to dominate and reveal itself in many areas of life. Love and relationships are examples of such a field, as it depends greatly on social agreements and products of culture. This article will present the results of a research conducted in 2019 and 2020, which was an outcome of the observation of seemingly independent communication discourses: individualism discourse and love discourses. The former is heavily supported by the rapid development of new media and may bring potential changes in the ways of perceiving love and the behavioral patterns connected to romantic relationships. The research of a qualitative nature was conducted on a sample of 10 members of Generation Z. Individual in-depth interviews and meaningfocused discourse analysis allowed to explore how individualism discourse manifests itself in the communication of the given generation regarding love and relationships. As the research shows, individualism discourse reveals itself in Generation Z’s perception of love and relationship, especially in terms of expectations and lack of universal rules, although its effect is not always predictable.

Niniejszy artykuł omawia logikę powszechnego braterstwa na podstawie encykliki papieża Franciszka Fratelli tutti. Podstawowe, a zarazem główne założenie tej logiki wypływa z faktu stworzenia człowieka na obraz i podobieństwo Boga. Na mocy bowiem stworzenia każdy człowiek zostaje obdarzony niezbywalną godnością. Zostaje powołany do życia w relacji z innym ludźmi, do odpowiedzialności za nich i do stworzenia jednej rodziny dzieci Bożych. Zostaje mu także powierzone dzieło przekształcania świata, którego dobra są własnością i mają służyć wszystkim ludziom i narodom. Ostatecznym zatem fundamentem powszechnego braterstwa jest, przynajmniej dla ludzi wierzących, ojcostwo Boga i Jego troska o każdego człowieka, która jest konkretnym wyrazem Jego stwórczej miłości. Dla chrześcijan zaś takim fundamentem jest dodatkowo Ewangelia Jezusa Chrystusa. Dla wszystkich natomiast ludzi jest nim troska, współczucie, miłość, miłosierdzie i odpowiedzialność za drugiego człowieka. Istota proponowanej przez papieża logiki powszechnego braterstwa przejawia się w tym, że patrzy ona na świat i jego problemy oraz proponuje konkretne ich rozwiązanie z perspektywy peryferii; że w jej centrum znajduje się miłość preferencyjna wobec najbardziej potrzebujących, ubogich i wykluczonych; że wprowadza do relacji międzyludzkich na różnych poziomach logikę daru i bezinteresowności.
The article discusses the logic of universal fraternity from Pope Francis’ Encyclical Fratelli tutti. The basic and at the same time the main assumption of this logic flows from the fact of creating the human being in the image and likeness of God. By virtue of creation, each person is endowed with inalienable dignity. They are called to live in relationships with other people, to be responsible for them and to create one family of God’s children. They are also entrusted with the task of transforming the world whose goods are owned and are to serve all peoples and nations. Therefore, the ultimate foundation of universal brotherhood is, at least for believers, God’s fatherhood and His concern for every human being, which is a concrete expression of His creative love. For Christians, such a foundation is additionally the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For all people, however, it is care, compassion, love, mercy and responsibility for another human being. The essence of the Pope’s proposed logic of universal brotherhood is that it looks at the world and its problems and proposes a concrete solution to them from the periphery perspective; that at its center is a preferential love towards the most needy, the poor and the excluded; that it introduces the logic of gift and selflessness into human relationships at various levels.

The thought, the testimony of the life and philosophy of Mother Teresa wants to emphasize the primacy of love, respect for the dignity of the person and the defense of human rights inviolable and non-negotiable, first and foremost the right to life, which is that from the moment of conception and is sacred and inviolable. Mother Teresa gave importance to spiritual charity and the charity body, without which man is deprived of the future and of life itself. The ideal of the life of Mother Teresa is an ideal of simplicity and generosity, especially for the poor, the suffering and vulnerable children, in whom she sees the face of Christ incarnate. Mother Teresa has marked the twentieth century with the testimony of his life certainly exemplary educational point of view, ethical and legal, and has at the same time affirmed the need for a new humanism relational and transcendent, essential basis for building a just and coexistence peaceful.

Opis:

Sixtine by Remy de Gourmont marks the refusal of nature and tangible reality and the choice of imagination to the detriment of reality. Its principal character, Hubert d’Entragues is a faithful disciple of idealism of symbolism. Since he chooses to think rather that to live, it is not surprising that the plot of the novel is almost nonexistent. The plot develops around of d’Entragues’ desire to win the beautiful Sixtine, which is in itself condemned to failure since he is doing nothing to reach her and refuses to take any effort. The woman, who could have served as the principal impulse of the plot, is practically inexistent in this story (though it is a passionate story) and is replaced by the ideal woman: the story is doubled by the second story, e.g. a novel written by the character which is a transposition of his “cerebral” relation with Sixtine and a realisation of presence of the latter. Art replaces life and life does not exist in itself. It is shaped by thought. But the chosen absence of any facts of life is fruitful: it gives birth to a novel. It is a story of a prisoner in love with the statute of the Virgin which he sees while taking a daily walk. In this novel the carnal accomplishment is not necessary in order for a true and sincere passion to develop and the satisfaction of desire may destroy the dream and the ideal.

This article analyses the components of love and the stages of a love relationship in relation to the increasingly common phenomenon of divorce in society. The author underlines that the reason of filing for divorce may be the further development of love and – more specifically – the decline of passion and intimacy, of which the spouses may not be aware. Qualitative changes in love surprise the spouses and cause dissatisfaction. The availability and popularity of divorces, in turn, induce the spouses to resort to such tools. According to the author, an increase in the social awareness in this matter could make it possible to avoid many divorce processes.

In Serotonin, the houellebecquian homunculus, Florent-Claude Labrouste, is a “dead man walking.” Disenchanted and full of regrets about his past, he decides to break with society and disappear from the world. Bound one more time to a painful and lonely life, the hero uses antidepressants to numb his pain. His newfound emotion-deprived awareness allows him to reflect on his journey, on the missed opportunities that life had bestowed upon him and on the far-fetched possibilities left behind. This article will examine Serotonin’s take on love and its epitome, the romantic couple. Love according to Houellebecq is an existential deed, one that propels the homunculus into existence in a world bent on its destruction, as the romantic couple creates a space, an otherworldly and literary dimension in which every human can potentially find redemption – every human it seems but Houellebecq’s hero; his shrinking masculinity threatens his chances to partake in any meaningful relationship. Florent-Claude passively witnesses his two first loves leaving his life, and he seems incapable of any meaningful action to stop this decaying process. This work will try to answer the riddle that is the homunculus, torn between a redeeming far-fetched ecstasy and the quick fixes of modern society

Celem artykułu jest poszerzenie wiedzy na temat przebiegu związku miłosnego z uwzględnieniem subiektywnej perspektywy badanych osób. Przedmiotem analizy stały się opinie oraz doświadczenia uczestników i uczestniczek badania odwołujące się do związku intymnego jako trwającego w czasie procesu, oraz identyfikowania i nadawania znaczenia poszczególnych eta-pom „życia we dwoje”. Istotne stały się odpowiedzi na pytania, w jaki sposób badani mówią o przebiegu związku miłosnego, czy ma on dla nich jakiś określony przebieg, oraz w jaki sposób charakteryzują jego trajektorię. Analizowany materiał empiryczny pochodzi z wywiadów fokusowych przeprowadzone on-line (BBD – Bulletin Board Discussion on-line). Badania miały charakter eksploracyjny. W badaniu wzięły udział 42 osoby w wieku 18-55 lat, z wykształceniem średnim lub wyższym, o różnej orientacji seksualnej. Analiza materiału wskazuje na identyfikację przez uczestników badania następujących faz: zauroczenia i zakochania, miłości początkowej oraz miłości dojrzałej. Miłość dla badanych jest kluczowym, chociaż zmiennym spoiwem związku intymnego, inaczej definiują “prawdziwą miłość”, a czym innym są emocje, które towarzyszą fazie zauroczenia i zakochania. Analiza materiału wskazuje, że różne wydarzenia życiowe odgrywają rolę bufora w procesie przechodzenia przez kolejne etapy związku. Badania potwierdzają tezę o tym, że współczesne pary podlegają procesowi aktywnego budowania relacji, przez co ich trajektorie miłości stają się nieustannym wyzwaniem, czego uczestnicy badania są w dużej mierze świadomi.
The aim of the article is to increase the knowledge of the development of romantic relationships, taking into account the subjective perspective of the respondents. The author analysed the opinions and experiences of the participants of the study about the intimate relationship as a process in time and those concerning the identification and significance of each stage of „living together”. What became important were the answers to the questions of how the respondents talk about the course of their romantic relationships; whether in their case the relationship has a specific pattern and how they characterize its trajectory. The analysed empirical material consists of online focus interviews (BBD – Bulletin Board Discussion online). The nature of the research is exploratory. It included 42 people aged 18-55 of different sexual orientation, educated at secondary or university level. The analysis of the material indicates that the study participants identified the following stages: infatuation and falling in love, early love and mature love. For the participants, love is the key, albeit variable, bond of an intimate relationship. They define “true love” differently from the emotions that accompany the phase of infatuation and falling in love. The analysis shows that various life events play a buffer role in the process of transitioning through the successive stages of the relationship. The results confirm the hypothesis that modern couples are subject to the process of active relationship building. As a result, their trajectories of love become a constant challenge, but the participants are largely aware of this.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczące zastosowania falowodów z polimetakrylanu i poliimidu w podzespołach piezoelektrycznych z akustyczną falą Love'a. Porównano efekty falowodowe wywoływane tymi polimerami z najczęściej stosowanym falowodem z dwutlenku krzemu. Ocenę własności falowodowych badanych substancji prowadzono na różnych podłożach piezoelektrycznych, takich jak.: niobian litu o orientacji 41°YX, tantalan litu o orientacji 36°YX i kwarc AT. Określono wpływ geometrii warstw falowodowych na parametry akustycznych fal generowanych w badanych podłożach piezoelektrycznych.
In this article the results of the investigations concerned of polymethylmethacrylate and polyimide application as a waveguide in the Love wave devices are presented. The waveguide effects caused by above polymers and the mostly used SiO2 waveguide are compared. The estimation of the waveguide properties of the studied substances was carried out on the several, different piezoelectric substrates such as: 41°YX LiNbO3, 36°YX LiTaO3, and quartz AT. The influence of the guiding layer geometry on the parameters of the acoustic waves, generated in the above piezoelectric substrates was examined.

Last years of I.S. Turgenev’s life are marked by his increased interest in problem of the inexplicable, supernatural, strange. Mystery of love and laws of love are on the foreground of his “mysterious stories” written in 1870-1880-ies. Peripetias of love feeling are conjugated to activity of the supersensual, irrational within mentality of heroes, to their hereditary links, unintentional faults, misgivings and insights. The concealed and obvious, conscious and unconscious in human more often are conveyed not in traditional Turgenevian way of “secret psychology”, but in artistic means similar to the style of Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky: through inner monologue, developed inner dialogue and portrait dynamics. In the psychological descriptions which not seldom are grotesque the writer’s notions of mysterious powers subjugating the personality, of “tragic sense of love” are concretized.

Miłość Boga doświadczona przez proroka Ozeasza (VIII w. przed Chr.) jest w swym opisie, zawartym w Oz 2,4-25, ściśle powiązana z kontekstem historycznym i egzystencjalnym: bałwochwalstwem Izraela oraz zdradą ze strony żony Proroka. W obliczu zaistniałej sytuacji miłość ta ujawnia jej oblubieńczy charakter. Składa się na nią „zazdrość” – żarliwa troska o wyłączność relacji wraz z jednoczesną nieakceptacją cudzołóstwa, co wiąże się z wymiarem sprawiedliwości. Dopełnia go jednak drugi: miłosierdzie – gotowe przebaczyć i zrobić wszystko, by ocalić niewierną małżonkę oraz przywrócić utraconą jedność. Zarysowana przez Ozeasza małżeńska miłość Boga znajdzie swe ucieleśnienie w osobie Jezusa Chrystusa – Oblubieńcu Kościoła.
The Love of God experienced by the prophet Hosea (8th century BC) is closely linked in its description, which is contained in Hos 2,4-25, with the historical and existential context: Israel’s idolatry and the marital infidelity of the Prophet’s wife. In the face of this situation this Love reveals its spousal character. It is characterized by ‘jealousy’ – fervent concern for the relationship’s exclusiveness with simultaneous intolerance of adultery, the latter being connected with the dimension of justice. This aspect, however, is complemented by another: mercy – the readiness to forgive and do anything to save the unfaithful wife and to restore the lost unity. The marital Love of God outlined by Hosea will find its embodiment in the Person of Jesus Christ – the Spouse of the Church.

The author attempts to contribute to the debate about the value of Aquinas’s account of love to philosophical personalism. He argues that to understand adequately Aquinas’s account of love in general and the aspect of the gift of self in particular, we must appreciate the importance of his account of appropriate self-love; moreover, self-love and love as a gift of self constitute two foundational poles on which we should base any development of a theory of love within Thomistic personalism. First, the author offers brief overviews of Wojtyla’s concept of love as a gift of self and Waldstein’s comparative study of Wojtyla and Aquinas on this issue. Second, he examines Aquinas’s notion of self-love, distinguishing between the good and bad kinds of self-love. Finally, he shows how self-love actualized in self-friendship creates the possibility for friendship with others.

The article presents his analyses embracing the nature of love as an act in which human person in whole its integrity gets involved, indicating at the same time the inseparable bond between love and truth.

In Simone de Beauvoir’s œuvre, the problem of love and the relationship with the Other turns out to be fundamental. The need to realize one’s own desires forces the individual to open for the Other who – instead of making the relationship more attractive – brings about its breakup. The Author raises this issue in terms of androgyny interpreted as a relationship between two people, which is possible only in the spheres of total freedom and reciprocity, both spiritual and sexual, revealing an inherent influence of other people on our lives.The texts by Beauvoir, whose idée fixe is a search for the wholeness, enable one to understand that otherness is also understood as a struggle to change the perception of femininity and of independence. The other also fascinates us by difference. It encourages one to get to know oneself, one’s possibilities and limitations, as well as one’s identity. By looking into the eyes of the other (like in a mirror) a person has an opportunity to create a new reality, thereby rejecting stereotypes and a traditional value system. Thus, finding a sense of life and realizing existing differences become possible.The multidimensionality of the concept of otherness enables the critic to present the writer’s original vision, propagating the individual development and autonomy, defined by relationships with others and, at the same time, by his or her pursuit of an existential fullness with another human being.

The “love factor” has increasingly figured in SLA research. Thus, Piller (2002) studied the language “glue” between cross-lingual couples; Marinova-Todd (2003) found a link between L2 proficiency and co-habitation with native speakers; Muñoz & Singleton (2007) reported a romantic connection between successful late L2 learners and native speakers; Gonçalves (2013) explored hybridity in bicultural relationships; and Kinsella & Singleton (2014) found that the participants in their study of late L2 learners whose L2 test results were all within native-speaker range had native-speaker life-partners. This issue is now being taken very seriously, as Dewaele & Salomidou’s (2016) recent article on “loving … in a foreign language” demonstrates. In the present article we report on the results of some recent qualitative research, based on interview data collected from five individuals who are involved in intercultural and cross-lingual relationships. The research shows the L2 learning process to be clearly influenced by the affective context in which it occurs. The data also suggest that identity construction may be moved in a particular direction by the language principally adopted by the couple, and that, for the partner for whom this language is an L2, the results can be dramatic in terms of both linguistic and cultural affiliation.

This paper presents Ovid’s views on the concept of love madness. Taking Ars amatoria, in particular the distich (1.281–282) in which the poet blames woman’s love fury on her lust as its research material, the paper investigates how the notion in question has been realized in this “textbook for lovers.” There, Ovid uses the mythological figures of women who committed crimes against social rules to illustrate the said concept; the paper, in turn, juxtaposes it with the narratives in Metamorphoses (the stories of Byblis and Myrrha). Additionally, it makes use of the tale of Iphis, a story not included in Ars amatoria which can nevertheless be also treated as illustrative of how madness can overcome enamored women. The paper both contrasts the above mentioned stories with the narratives showing men’s inclinations to insanity caused by passion and examines the notion of love madness in the context and with regard to the style of Ovid’s works.

Prezentowane w artykule badania dotyczą zagadnienia akceptacji przez matki małych dzieci przekonania, że miłość rodzicielska może zastąpić wychowanie. Główne pytanie badawcze brzmiało, czy badane matki akceptują mit, że „dziecko wystarczy kochać, nie trzeba go wychowywać” i kierują się nim w wychowaniu swoich dzieci. Do badań wykorzystane podskalę Kwestionariusza Obsesyjnej Miłości Matki do Dziecka (KOMMD) – Miłość zamiast Wychowania (MW). Próba badanych obejmowała 113 matek dzieci w wieku od roku do 7 lat. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników badań można wysunąć wniosek, że badane matki kierowały się mitem o miłości zdolnej zastąpić wychowanie w stopniu umiarkowanym, przy czym częściej niż akceptację przekonań składających się na mit deklarowały podejmowanie zachowań z nim związanych.
Research presented in this article focuses on the issue of mothers of young children accepting a belief that parental love can replace upbringing. The main research question was whether the mothers that took part in the research accept the myth that “it is enough to love the child and there is no need to bring up the child” and whether they follow this rule in the process of bringing up their children. The study used the subscale Questionnaire of Obsessive Mother's Love towards the Child – Love instead of upbringing. The sample of examined individuals, included 113 mothers of children between the age of 1–7. The results of the research can conclude that the examined mothers tend to adhere to a moderate level of believe to the myth that love can substitute upbringing but at the same time they are more likely to take behavior associated with it rather than accept all beliefs of the myth.

The Arthurian legends have fascinated and inspired people for ages. Le Morte D’Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory is one of the best compilations of the stories about King Arthur and his peers. This romance deals with the enchanting world of knightly rituals and the ideals of the chivalric code. It is not a typical romance blindly glorifying the medieval world, though. Written in the time when these ideals are passing, the prose is dominated on the one hand, by melancholy and sentiment, but on the other, by irony and ambiguity. Malory seems to question the chivalric code through inconsistencies of his characters’ behaviour, and absurdity of some situations they are involved in. The paper will focus on the ambivalent and comic picture of the courtly love ideals in Malory’s prose. The main source of failure of some of the Arthurian knights in this aspect of knightly life is the clash between the real chivalric practice and the imagined ideals they pursue.

This study aimed to define psychological determinants of choosing heterosexual relationship type. In this purpose three groups of participants have been compared, representing different types of relationships (Friends With Benefits – FWB, short-term relationships, lasting shorter than 12 months and long-term relationships, lasting longer than 12 months) with respect to the attachment styles, passion, intimacy and commitment and sociosexual orientation. 90 individuals participated in the study (15 women and 15 men in each group). They completed three questionnaires: Attachment Style Questionnaire by Mieczysław Plopa (2008), Love Measurement Questionnaire and Sociosexual Orientation Inventory Questionnaire SOI-R by Penke and Asendorpf (2008). Results of the univariate analysis of variance indicated, that individuals in short-term and long-term relationships showed higher intensity of the secure attachment style and higher level of intimacy and commitment, while persons in FWB relationships showed higher intensity of the avoidant attachment style and non-restrictive sociosexual orientation. No statistically significant differences have been observed between the groups with respect to the intensity of the anxious/ambivalent attachment style and the level of passion.

Niniejsze opracowanie prezentuje temat piękna miłości małżeńskiej na podstawie adhortacji apostolskiej papieża Franciszka Amoris laetitia. Na wstępie zauważamy, że współczesny zsekularyzowany świat wypacza pojęcie miłości, co prowadzi do poważnych zaburzeń w funkcjonowaniu małżeństwa i rodziny. Ojciec święty Franciszek w swoim nauczaniu stara się przede wszystkim ukazać pozytywną stronę miłości małżeńskiej tak, aby sami małżonkowie zaangażowali się w odkrywanie jej głębi i różnorakich aspektów, które nie są widoczne na pierwszy rzut oka. Małżonkowie w codziennych prostych i zwyczajnych gestach uwidaczniają miłość, jaką Chrystus miłuje swój Kościół. Miłość rodzi się ze spojrzenia na drugą osobę, które wywołuje podziw i zasmakowanie w cennej wartości drugiego człowieka. Miłość pozwala dostrzec kochanego człowieka jako osobę. Radość miłości odnawia się i dojrzewa po wspólnym doświadczeniu cierpienia, trudu i zmagania. Wspólna droga małżeńska oznacza przejście przez różne etapy rozwoju miłości, które wymagają „wielkodusznego daru z siebie” (AL 220). Papież Franciszek przypomina, że miłość potrzebuje czasu, który małżonkowie muszą wygospodarować do własnej dyspozycji. Miłość bowiem dojrzewa pomimo ograniczeń i niedoskonałości poprzez ofiarny wysiłek i poświęcenie. Młodzi ludzie powinni się odważyć zawrzeć nierozerwalny związek małżeński, który stanowi ochronę i narzędzie do dojrzewania do miłości. Miłość małżeńska charakteryzuje się również uczuciem przyjemności i namiętnością seksualną. Ojciec święty Franciszek w nauczaniu o znaczeniu płciowości człowieka idzie za św. Janem Pawłem II, swoim poprzednikiem. Kościół odrzuca wypaczenia seksualne i erotyczne, ale nie lekceważy samej seksualności ani nią nie pogardza. Kryzysy małżeńskie są częścią dramatycznego piękna miłości małżeńskiej. Kościół poprzez kapłanów i odpowiednio przygotowane osoby może towarzyszyć duchowo małżonkom w kryzysie, tak aby odnaleźli oni i odnowili pierwotną miłość, która ich połączyła w jeden związek.
The present study presents the theme of the beauty of conjugal love on the basis of the apostolic exhortation of Pope Francis Amoris laetitia. We note that modern secularized world distorts the notion of love, leading to serious disruptions in the functioning of marriage and the family. Pope Francis strives above all to show the positive side of conjugal love. Spouses in everyday simple and ordinary gestures reveal the love that Christ loves his Church. Love is born of a look at the other person, which provokes admiration and taste in the precious value of another person. Love lets you see a loved one as a person. Joy of love renews and grows after a shared experience of suffering, effort and struggle. The common married way is to go through the various stages of the development of love that require „generous gift of self” (AL 220). Pope Francis reminds us that love needs time that the spouses must find at their disposal. Love grows in spite of limitations and imperfections through sacrificial effort and sacrifice. Young people should dare to conclude an inseparable marriage that provides protection and a tool for the development of love. Conjugal love is also characterized by feelings of pleasure and sexual passion. Pope Francis in teaching about the importance of human sexuality goes behind St. John Paul II, his predecessor. The church rejects sexual and erotic perversion but does not disregard sexuality itself nor disdains it. Marriage crisis are part of the dramatic beauty of conjugal love. The Church through priests and prepared persons can spiritually accompany the spouses in crisis so that they find and renew the original love that has brought them into a single union.

In the present article the author argues that, according to Thomas Aquinas, there is love in God, because the act of will by its nature involves love. God naturally loves all existing things since he calls them into being. Consequently, the term “love” means the essence of God, the breath of love, and the person of the Holy Spirit. In the paper it is argued that the conceptual resources of Christianity topple the hiddenness argument. According to the author, the variability of the divine love cast doubt on the soundness of Schellenberg’s reasoning. If we understood a perfect love as a maximal and equal concern and identification with all and for all, then a divine love would entail divine impartiality, but because of conflicts of interest between human beings the perfect, divine love cannot be maximal.
W artykule argumentuje się, że konceptualne zasoby chrześcijaństwa obalają argument z ukryciu. Według autora zróżnicowanie Bożej miłości poddaje w wątpliwość słuszność rozumowania Schellenberga. Gdybyśmy rozumieli doskonałą miłość jako maksymalną i równą troskę oraz utożsamianie się ze wszystkimi i dla wszystkich, wtedy Boża miłość pociągałaby za sobą Bożą bezstronność, ale z powodu konfliktu interesów między ludźmi doskonała Boża miłość nie może być maksymalna.

Przeżywanie miłości jest najbardziej ludzkim i powszechnym doświadczeniem. Miłość jest rzeczywistością złożoną, wieloaspektową, psychiczną i duchową. To wartość uniwersalna i ponadczasowa. Związana jest z największą potrzebą ludzką bycia kochanym i pragnieniem miłowania. Dlatego też w integralnym rozwoju osoby jest ona najważniejszym czynnikiem, który kształtuje i scala jej osobowość. Istota miłości jest niezmienna, natomiast sposoby jej przeżywania i wyrażania są bardzo różne. Rozwój miłości małżeńskiej wymaga rozwoju więzi małżeńskiej. To dzięki niej możliwe jest integralne połączenie się dwóch osób w miłości. Więź małżeńska jest podstawowym elementem, który scala i wyraża wielopłaszczyznowy obszar małżeńskich relacji, interakcji i komunikacji.Obecnie, w dobie konsumpcjonizmu oraz rozpowszechniania się stylu życia w związkach partnerskich, można zauważyć, że miłość i więź małżeńska nie są wartościami, często wręcz mówi się o nich wstydliwie. W związku z tym, celem artykułu jest przedstawienie w ujęciu chrześcijańskim teoretycznych zagadnień odnoszących się do doświadczania miłości szczególnie w perspektywie więzi małżeńskiej. Uwzględniając złożoność tej problematyki, zostaną ukazane tylko wybrane jej aspekty. Omówione zostaną różnorodne konteksty miłości oraz doświadczanie i przeżywanie miłości małżeńskiej. Ukazana będzie istota i wartość więzi małżeńskiej, a także kwestia rozwijania zdolności do miłości w procesie wychowania człowieka.
Living love is the most human and universal experience. Love is a complex, multi‐faceted, psychological and spiritual reality. It is a universal and timeless value. It is associated with the greatest human need to be loved and the desire to love. Therefore, in the integral development of a person, love is the most important factor that shapes and integrates his/her personality. The essence of love is unchangeable, but the ways of experiencing and expressing it are very different. The development of conjugal love requires the growth of a marital bond. It is thanks to it that it is possible for two people to be united in love. A marital bond constitutes an essential element which integrates and shapes the multifaceted area of marital relationship, interaction and communication.Nowadays, in an era of consumerism and a lifestyle based more on civil partnerships, it can be seen that love and marriage are not treated as the values, they are often even spoken of with shame. Therefore, the aim of the article is to present theoretical issues related to the experience of love in a Christian perspective, especially from the perspective of a marital bond. Taking into account the complexity of this issue, only selected aspects will be shown. The various contexts of love and the experience of marital love will be discussed. The essence and value of the marital bond will be shown, as well as the aspect of developing the ability to love in the process of human education.

The concept of marital communio amoris expressed in the apostolic exhortations Familiaris Consortio of John Paul II and Amoris Laetitia of Pope Francis is the subject of this paper. In theology, this phrase has generally been used to describe the relationship of the Divine Persons in the Trinity. The phrase communio amoris in relation to marriage and family comes from the theological thought of John Paul II. The Pope used this term several times in the exhortation. An important issue is the reference of the phrase “communion of love” to spouses entering into a sacramental union. Pope Francis, although he uses the phrase to refer to Trinitarian relationships, does not explicitly use this expression to refer to marital relationships. Communio amoris, however, can be read into the concept of marital love presented in Amoris Laetitia.

One of the current directions of the comparative linguistics is the cognitive linguistics vs particular surveys of concepts. Scientific surveys have shown that love in the Ukrainian, Russian and Polish paroemiology presents itself in a similar way as it is an universal phenomenon. The concept of “love” shows fundamental values, in which we can find main beliefs, principles and life goals.

Opis:

Numerous diagnoses of contemporary transformations of love and eroticism emphasise the fact that the intimate life has become democratised and liberated. Anthony Giddens argues that personal relationships increasingly become compatible with the model of pure relationship, which means that they are more egalitarian and that both partners are free to choose and to negotiate the shape of their relations. Jeffrey Weeks claims that in “the world that we have won”, women, homosexuals and queers are increasingly considered as equal to heterosexual men. Most scholars agree that feminism(together with gays’ and lesbians’ movements) is one of most important factors that enabled the democratisation of intimacy. Yet, it is possible to distinguish some interesting approaches that examine the unintended consequences of women’s emancipation. Sociologists like Arlie Russell Hochschild and Eva Illouz recognise the importance of feminism in democratising intimacy, thus they also claim that liberation of women has entailed rationalisation and commercialisation of intimacy. One of Hochschild’s main thesis is that feminism commercialises intimacy by legitimising “the commercial spirit of intimate life”. What is more, she argues that instead of humanizing men feminism is capitalising women. On the other hand, Illouz persuades that feminism – together with therapeutic discourse – rationalises intimacy by emphasising the necessity of analysing and quantifying all aspects of intimate life. Hochschild and Illouz claim that feminism unintentionally makes intimacy “cold” – that is that it suggests focusing on personal autonomy and perceiving warm and close bonds as an endangerment for that autonomy. The cooling entails loosening of family and intimate relationships and making individuals more attached to the market. In the end, both sociologists agree that “cool” branches of feminism make women similar to men and intimacy similar to the market

The paper is concerned with the plane strain problem of Love wave propagation through a water-saturated sand layer overlaying an elastic half-space. Dynamic loads, induced by the wave passage, generate irreversible strains in the soil matrix, giving rise to the development of excess pore water pressures and subsequent reduction of soil liquefaction. The process of pore pressure generation is analysed within the framework of compaction theory of saturated granular media. Results of numerical calculations, carried out by means of the finite element method, illustrate the evolution of pore pressures and the development of liquefaction in the subsoil, as well as the changes in the free surface displacements.
Praca poświęcona jest płaskiemu zagadnieniu propagacji fal Love'a w warstwie piasku nasyconego woda, znajdującej się na półprzestrzeni ośrodka sprężystego. Obciążenia dynamiczne spowodowane przejściem fali wywołują nieodwracalne odkształcenia w szkielecie gruntowym, które są przyczyną zwiększenia ciśnienia w wodzie wypełniającej pory ośrodka i tym samym zmniejszenia naprężeń efektywnych w gruncie, co w końcowym przypadku może prowadzić do upłynnienia podłoża. Proces generacji ciśnień porowych jest analizowany na bazie teorii zagęszczenia nawodnionych ośrodków granulowanych. Wyniki obliczeń numerycznych, przeprowadzonych w oparciu o metodę elementów skończonych, ilustrują ewolucję ciśnień porowych, rozwój strefy upłynnienia w podłożu oraz zmiany w czasie przemieszczeń powierzchni swobodnej warstwy.

Apart from many legitimate concerns about ecology, the most important contemporary concern should be of anthropological nature and must address the human being as a person (Benedikt XVI). What is man? Are human beings free? What should human beings do? These Kantian questions also describe the main starting points of Karol Wojtyła’s philosophy in The Acting Person. With regard to the importance of the question (ecology of man) our challenge is divided into three parts. First, man is a person; second, his call is to liberty and last, responsible love is an emanation of personal dignity. In this manner the three important points in Wojtyła’s philosophy (person, liberty, love) are well characterized. The essence of man is his personal dignity as a source for the possibility of free (responsible) decisions – “the act”. The experience of morality is included in the experience of being a person. Wojtyła poses the question “how do I understand who I am throughout my acts?” Like Kant, the author emphasizes the importance of free will, conscientiousness as an obligation, which speaks to the conscious person. I determine myself through my own decision (person´s actions). For Wojtyła, participation in love is the basis of all human personal experiences. “Only persons participate in love”. Participation in the character of the other becomes – in the language of Wojtyła – “the choice of the other person in myself ”.

Family in the sermons and letters written by John Paul II is presented as a community of people that are gathered by love. It is also a sign of unselfish and common God’s love towards people. Love is the idea that is mostly used by the Pope in his texts, because he claims that love is a spiritual center of the family, love is the foundations of the origin and development of family. Love becomes also a source of peace and happiness for parents and their children. John Paul II highlights the need for closeness that is typical not only for the family members, but also for the members of the society, nation and the Church. In the linguistic image of the family that is presented in the texts of John Paul II the most often profiles may be indicated: family is a sanctuary of life, family is a community of life and love, family is a school of humanity, the school of love and social life, family is the domestic church, family is the way. Family as a community of love is the smallest institution that brings life, defends the life, creates an identity and transmits the worlds of values, language, culture and truths of faith to the following generations. Family decides about the future of the nation, country and the Church.

Humans as social beings feel natural attraction to being with other people, i.e. to establishing and maintaining relationships. Affiliations, such as friendship or love, significantly influence their development from the earliest years of life, either enriching or disturbing the quality of their functioning. Therefore, those who due to their health status or another life situation are marked by otherness, must be prepared to endure hardships. Consequently, persons with disabilities experience failures in their interpersonal contacts. They are often devoid of the opportunity to have a good friend or to experience true love, which may exacerbate their already difficult situation, often triggered within a family setting, where there was no acceptance and/or insufficient quality of parental love. All human beings, children in particular, need closeness and affection. Only then do they develop properly, experience happiness, see the meaning of their lives, feel loved and are able to reciprocate that love. Experiencing a disability or being a parent of a child with a disability may make love more difficult, perhaps even impossible. However, the desire for love can be so strong that it will manage to overcome all obstacles. Unfortunately, it may as well make life a grey existence filled with loneliness and suffering.

Przedmiotem analizy jest relacja miłości i odpowiedzialności, ujęta w aspekcie aksjologii pedagogicznej. Fundamentem i źródłem obu wartości jest natura osoby ludzkiej. Miłość i odpowiedzialność, różniąc się między sobą, mają wspólne elementy w zakresie przedmiotu oddziaływania (Bóg, człowiek), treści (dobro), są podobne w dynamice rozwoju, stopniowalności i mają dialogiczny charakter. Zarazem występują w określonych zależnościach: ontycznych (miłość nie istnieje bez odpowiedzialności) i rozwojowych (dojrzałość miłości jest wprost proporcjonalna do rozwoju odpowiedzialności). Związki i zależności między obu wartościami implikują konieczność równoczesnego i umiejętnego wychowania do miłości i odpowiedzialności, które w dużym stopniu decydują o integralnym rozwoju wychowanka, jego człowieczeństwa i dojrzałości. Jest to istotne zadanie dla wychowawcy, którego działalność powinna cechować miłość i odpowiedzialność wychowawcza.
The subject of the analysis is the relationship of love and responsibility in terms of pedagogical axiology. The nature of the human person is the foundation and source of both values. Love and responsibility, while differing from each other, have common elements in terms of their object of action (God, man), their content (the good), they are similar in the dynamics of development, gradualism and have a dialogical character. At the same time, they occur in specific relationships: ontic (love does not exist without responsibility) and developmental (the maturity of love is directly proportional to the development of responsibility). The connections and dependencies between the two values imply the necessity of simultaneous and skilful education to love and responsibility, which to a large extent determine the integral development of the pupil, his humanity and maturity. This is an important task for the educator, whose activity should be characterized by love and educational responsibility.

Wskazane treści zostaną zaznaczone w niniejszym artykule.
Love in a marriage is a fundation of fuctioning both spouses and a whole family. The family is a prime mover of what pay attention, bring hope, arouse expectations, demand progress. It is an inner need which overhelms each man who wants to be a gift for everybody. A family make a man feels happy but he needs to care for it. Happieness in a family is based on a lot of factors, for example awareness that in marriage the most important is relationship, good communication, appriopriate borders, engagement and flexibility and code of ethics or. values as well as indissolubility of marriage, a value of dialogue, parenting. Such contents are emphasized in the article.

This article focuses on the autobiographical ghost that dwells in “Envois” and the multiple ways he/she/it interferes in Derrida’s concept of écriture. Read through love letters sent as postcards with the image representing Socrates writing in front of Plato, Derrida’s writing, I argue, definitely becomes a cryptic writing (écriture cryptique) both in the sense of kryptô (Gr. coded) and secerno (Lat. set apart). I endeavor to show that “Envois”-largely autobiographical and entangled in his life events-is a harbinger of the secret that Derrida takes for a fundamental feature of democracy in his later works. And yet the secret is of his own, as he notes when writing “Envois”: “Nobody will never know what the secret I write along with is. And that I say this will not change anything” (Peeters 2010: 367).

Keats and Leopardi: Biographical coincidences, ideals and affinities of inspiration – In the history of poetry, the English John Keats and the Italian Giacomo Leopardi, in their personal life, poetry, and letters are phenomenal in a special way. Both poets have always been regarded as key figures in the European Romantic Movement and have steadily grown in stature despite all changes of fashion. They never met, never were in Rome together, wrote in two quite different languages and their poetry is different in style, form and in almost every other way. Yet, despite the distance and the cultures that separated them, surprisingly, the two poets had certain biographical experiences in common; both early understood the intimations of their mortality and had the premonition of death, and many of their poems have the same evocative power, not to mention the many fascinating correspondences and resemblances both in ideals and inspiration.

Kierkegaard publicly declared himself a religious and Christian author. Therefore, it is the conception of Christian love, which is the crucial subject of his essay. Kierkegaard ́s concept of love wants to show especially the perception of the Other by an individual. I am commanded to love my neighbour as myself, and it is only when I learn to love in this way that I can become the self I was created to be and truly want to be. I can only love my neighbour as myself when I have a relation to God, who becomes the ́middle term ́ in every true love relationship. Neighbour-love is not exhausted by nor is it reducible to such natural human forms of love as erotic love and friendship. We have a fundamental duty to love God that we are obligated to obey his command to love the neighbour. Love for the neighbour is not merely what God requires; it is something that presupposes love for God.

The Arthurian legends have fascinated and inspired people for ages. Le Morte D’Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory is one of the best compilations of the stories about King Arthur and his peers. This romance deals with the enchanting world of knightly rituals and the ideals of the chivalric code. It is not a typical romance blindly glorifying the medieval world, though. Written in the time when these ideals are passing, the prose is dominated on the one hand, by melancholy and sentiment, but on the other, by irony and ambiguity. Malory seems to question the chivalric code through inconsistencies of his characters’ behaviour, and absurdity of some situations they are involved in. The paper will focus on the ambivalent and comic picture of the courtly love ideals in Malory’s prose. The main source of failure of some of the Arthurian knights in this aspect of knightly life is the clash between the real chivalric practice and the imagined ideals they pursue.

Opis:

Prosocial morality of Poles, including Catholics, remains at a diverse level in Polish society. In this article we present the stances of young Poles towards the principle of love of neighbor as an important moral rule in four aspects: the understanding of love of neighbor; the attitude to the commandment "Love your neighbor as yourself"; and the attitude to the precept to love your enemies. These issues will be discussed in the light of sociological research conducted in Puławy City among high school graduates and technical secondary school graduates in the ‘90s of the 20th century and in the first two decades of the 21st century (from 1994 to 2016). An audit survey was conducted in four the same schools and classes in Puławy City (Duke Adam Czartoryski's High School; Christian Piotr Aigner's High School; and Technical School No. and No. 2). In 2016, 286 questionnaires were used, which constituted 83,6% of the assumed research sample.
Moralność prospołeczna Polaków, w tym i katolików, kształtuje się w społeczeństwie polskim na zróżnicowanym poziomie. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiamy postawy młodych Polaków wobec zasady miłości bliźniego jako ważnej reguły moralnej w czterech aspektach: rozumienie miłości bliźniego, stosunek do przykazania „miłuj bliźniego jak siebie samego” oraz postawy wobec przykazania miłości nieprzyjaciół. Kwestie te zostaną omówione w świetle badań socjologicznych zrealizowanych w Puławach wśród maturzystów z liceów ogólnokształcących i z techników, w latach dziewięćdziesiątych XX wieku i w pierwszych dwóch dziesięcioleciach XXI wieku (od 1994 r. do 2016 r.). Ankietę audytoryjną przeprowadzono w czterech tych samych szkołach ponadgimnazjalnych w Puławach i w tych samych klasach (w I Liceum Ogólnokształcącym im. księcia Adama Czartoryskiego, w Społecznym Liceum Ogólnokształcącym im. Christiana Piotra Aignera, w Technikum nr 1 i w Technikum nr 2). Do dalszych analiz statystyczno-korelacyjnych w 2016 roku włączono 286 ankiet, co stanowiło 83,6% założonej próby badawczej.

Opis:

The author begins by addressing theories in which love is either the key bond in intimate interpersonal relations (Giddens, Beck, Illouz) or is a set of everyday practices aimed at generating and maintaining a close relationship (Kauffman) and in which love can be understood through certain signs and symbols and other structures of meaning (Danesi). The author’s analysis conforms to the concepts of the sociology of everyday life, the sociology of the couple, and the theory of social practices, according to which an intimate relationship is built on the basis of a couple’s daily activities, which “produce” that relationship through their repetition. The author analyzes ways of showing love to one another in everyday practices and attempts to embed these gestures and symbols in cultural conditions. The author’s reflections are based on a qualitative analysis of empirical research.

Opis:

The aim of this paper was to analyze a motivating aspect of love in Buddhism. As the most comprehensive analysis of the Buddhist love in the Polish literature is the work of H.deLubac, hence the focus on his research, supplemented by observations of contemporary theologians. First shown understanding of the term „love” in Buddhism, referenced in order to analyze the three terms: majtri (kindness), dana (excellence based on the generosity and assistance), karuna (pity, compassion). Then the paper analyzed the relationship of Buddhist love to the love of Christianity and drew attention to the fact that Buddhism has been switched relationship between love and compassion (in Buddhism, compassion is born of love, in Christianity it is inversely). Buddhist charity does not have also a community dimension, so characteristic of Christianity. Results of this study was that supernatural love in Buddhism is present in the same extent that it is the divine revelation in the creatures and by creatures, and in the same way it lends credibility. Love in Buddhism does not have full incentive asset due to alack in her the aspect of the Trinity, the ecclesial and sacramental (they strictly specify the Christianity). As a result of this has been demonstrated that Christianity offers the deepest shot of motivating aspect. Love in Christianity is in fact linked to the full and most perfect revelation of Christ.

In the broadest sense, the paper is a discussion of Vesna Parun’s love poetry. The basic idea is that, on the one hand, it adheres to the romantic understanding of literature as a representation of the deepest personal feelings, universal truths, and essential values and, on the other hand, that it acts as a confirmation that the experience of love is fundamentally literary, and that literature is a form of unbridled love for linguistic seduction. For this reason, the author’s love poetry is not approached as a representation of her private life, love feelings, or relationships, but as a complex relationship between figurative language and a romanticized idea of love. In other words, it is interpreted as a discourse or rhetorical event that simultaneously constructs and deconstructs concepts such as authentic experience, sincere sensitivity, primordial love, or stable identity, and provides an opportunity to raise important ethical and political questions in the face of its ambivalence.

Artykuł ukazuje najbardziej charakterystyczne elementy nauczania św. Augustyna na temat amor sapientiae. Stanowi on syntetyczną analizę opartą na wypowiedziach z całego życia myśliciela z Tagasty. Opracowanie to kreśli zarazem główne rysy Augustyńskiego itinerarium duchowego. Augustyn był głęboko przekonany, że to sama opatrzność Boża nie tylko przyprowadziła go do philospophie portus, ale i rozpaliła duszę wielką miłością do mądrości. U początku umiłowania mądrości przez Augustyna stoi przeczytany w dziewiętnastym roku życia dialog Cycerona Hortensjusz. O ile amor sapientiae wprowadził Augustyna najpierw w krainę filozofii, tak od momentu nawrócenia i przyjęcia chrztu jego poszukiwania mądrości będą oparte głównie na powadze Pisma Świętego i autorytecie wiary Kościoła. Stąd augustyński amor sapientiae ma wymiar filozoficzny, teologiczny i mistyczny. Tak jak mądrość jest dla św. Augustyna wiedzą spraw ludzkich i boskich, intelektualnym poznaniem spraw wiecznych, najwyższą światłością czy prawdą, tak również droga do niej prowadzi tak przez poznanie, jak i umiłowanie. Ukoronowaniem augustyńskich poszukiwań mądrości jest dotarcie do samego Boga, Mądrości, która jest wcielonym Synem Bożym, Jezusem Chrystusem. Tak jak wielkiemu myślicielowi z Samos, Pitagorasowi, tak również myślicielowi z Tagasty, Augustynowi, w pełni przysługuje tytuł miłośnik mądrości (amator sapientiae).
The article shows the most characteristic elements of the teaching of St. Augustine on the subject of amor sapientiae. It represents a synthetic analysis, based on statements from the whole life of a thinker from Thagaste. At the same time, this work sketches the main features of the Augustinian spiritual itinerary. Augustine was deeply convinced that God’s providence not only brought him to philospophie portus, but also ignited the soul with a great love of wisdom. At the beginning of Augustin’s love of wisdom, Cicero Hortensius, read in the nineteenth year of age, stands. While amor sapientiae introduced Augustine first to the land of philosophy, so from the moment of conversion and baptism, his search for wisdom will be based mainly on the seriousness of the Holy Scripture and the authority of the Church’s faith. Hence the Augustinian amor sapientiae has a philosophical, theological and mystical dimension. Just as wisdom is for St. Augustine knows human and divine matters, intellectual knowledge of eternal matters, the highest light or truth, so also the path leads to her through knowledge and love. The culmination of the Augustinian search for wisdom is to reach God himself, the Wisdom who is the Son of God incarnate, Jesus Christ. Like the great thinker with Samos Pythagoras, the thinker with Thagase Augustine is fully entitled to the title of lover of wisdom (amateur sapientiae).

Conjugal love guarantees not only a safe and harmonious life to the spouses, but also is an important prerequisite for the safety of already conceived offspring and contributes to proper development and raising of the ones already born. The value of spousal love cannot stem from utilitarian premises, such as protecting societal collapse or providing children with due care. Although those reasons seem to be relevant, they justify its value only indirectly. According to Pope Francis, love should be considered to be the foundation for building a culture of care, which results in a feeling of safety permeating not only the marriage and their family, but also the whole society. Such image of conjugal love needs to be promoted widely in the contemporary world.

Ce texte est une présentation du fonctionnement des mots amour/miłość i aimer/kochać en français et en polonais, afin d’índiquer les différences de sens et d’emploi dans les deux langues. On compare des relations sémantiques entre les mots amour/miłość et amitié/przyjaźń, ainsi que leur expressivité. On présente aussi les dérivés, les phraséologismes contenant ces mots. Il est à constater une grande richesse synonymique du français aimer, ainsi qu’une différence sémantique entre les verbes polonais kochać et lubić et leurs équivalents français aimer et aimer bien/beaucoup renforcés par des adverbes d’intensité qui, paradoxalement, réduisent le sens émotionnel du verbe aimer ‘aimer d’amour’ au degré correspondant à lubić ‘aimer bien’ dans certains contextes. Bien que les mots amour et aimer appartiennent aux universaux du langage, leurs champs sémantiques diffèrent dans les deux langues.
The text is a presentation of the presence of the words amour/miłość (Eng. love) and aimer/kochać (Eng. to love) in French and Polish, taking into account the differences in semantics and use in both languages. The semantic relationship of the words amour/miłość and amitié/przyjaźń (Eng. friendship) is indicated, as well as the difference in the degree of semantic intensity between these words. Their derivative phrases and phraseological expressions in which they appear are also presented. The richness of the synonyms for the French word aimer is noted as well as the difference in the meaning of Polish words kochać and lubić (Eng. to like) and their French counterparts aimer and aimer bien/beaucoup with the use of strengthening adverbs, which paradoxically reduce the intensity of the emotional meaning of the verb aimer ‘to love’ to a degree corresponding to the meaning of Polish lubić in specific contexts. Although the words amour and aimer belong to language universals, their meanings and scope of use turn out to be different in both languages.

The aim of the theoretical and empirical studies presented in the article was to analyze the relationship between intimacy and interpersonal commitment experienced in love relationships during early adulthood. The study involved 172 participants asked completed Interpersonal Commitment Questionnaire and Intimacy Questionnaire. The results of the research confirmed the occurrence of a relationship between interpersonal commitment and experienced intimacy, but not in all their dimensions. It was also established that the length of the relationship does not matter for the dimensions of both experienced intimacy and interpersonal commitment. For some of them, the type of love relationship is significant.

Przeżywanie miłości jest najbardziej ludzkim i powszechnym doświadczeniem. Miłość jest rzeczywistością złożoną, wieloaspektową, psychiczną i duchową. To wartość uniwersalna i ponadczasowa. Związana jest z największą potrzebą ludzką bycia kochanym i pragnieniem miłowania. Dlatego też w integralnym rozwoju osoby jest ona najważniejszym czynnikiem, który kształtuje i scala jej osobowość. Istota miłości jest niezmienna, natomiast sposoby jej przeżywania i wyrażania są bardzo różne. Rozwój miłości małżeńskiej wymaga rozwoju więzi małżeńskiej. To dzięki niej możliwe jest integralne połączenie się dwóch osób w miłości. Więź małżeńska jest podstawowym elementem, który scala i wyraża wielopłaszczyznowy obszar małżeńskich relacji, interakcji i komunikacji. Obecnie, w dobie konsumpcjonizmu oraz rozpowszechniania się stylu życia w związkach partnerskich, można zauważyć, że miłość i więź małżeńska nie są wartościami, często wręcz mówi się o nich wstydliwie. W związku z tym, celem artykułu jest przedstawienie w ujęciu chrześcijańskim teoretycznych zagadnień odnoszących się do doświadczania miłości szczególnie w perspektywie więzi małżeńskiej. Uwzględniając złożoność tej problematyki, zostaną ukazane tylko wybrane jej aspekty. Omówione zostaną różnorodne konteksty miłości oraz doświadczanie i przeżywanie miłości małżeńskiej. Ukazana będzie istota i wartość więzi małżeńskiej, a także kwestia rozwijania zdolności do miłości w procesie wychowania człowieka.
Living love is the most human and universal experience. Love is a complex, multi‐faceted, psychological and spiritual reality. It is a universal and timeless value. It is associated with the greatest human need to be loved and the desire to love. Therefore, in the integral development of a person, love is the most important factor that shapes and integrates his/her personality. The essence of love is unchangeable, but the ways of experiencing and expressing it are very different. The development of conjugal love requires the growth of a marital bond. It is thanks to it that it is possible for two people to be united in love. A marital bond constitutes an essential element which integrates and shapes the multifaceted area of marital relationship, interaction and communication. Nowadays, in an era of consumerism and a lifestyle based more on civil partnerships, it can be seen that love and marriage are not treated as the values, they are often even spoken of with shame. Therefore, the aim of the article is to present theoretical issues related to the experience of love in a Christian perspective, especially from the perspective of a marital bond. Taking into account the complexity of this issue, only selected aspects will be shown. The various contexts of love and the experience of marital love will be discussed. The essence and value of the marital bond will be shown, as well as the aspect of developing the ability to love in the process of human education.

Opis:

„Społeczna Krucjata Miłości” jest polskim modelem odnowy życia chrześcijańskiego w duchu Soboru Watykańskiego II. Na progu drugiego tysiąclecia chrześcijaństwa w Polsce wprowadził ją w życie kardynał Stefan Wyszyński. Za dokument programowy SKM uchodzi jego list na Wielki Post z 1967 roku. Liczne dalsze wypowiedzi, w tym zwłaszcza dokumenty episkopatu Polski, stanowią ważne jej dopełnienie. Nadrzędnym celem, jaki przyświeca SKM, jest odrodzenie w narodzie polskim miłości chrześcijańskiej. Konieczność sięgnięcia do źródeł wyraża najlepiej pierwsza część dokumentu programowego, w którym ujęte są one w czterech punktach: Bóg – Miłością, Jezus Chrystus – Wysłannik miłości Ojca, Kościół – głosicielem i obrońcą miłości oraz przenikanie Ducha Miłości do rodziny ludzkiej. Ten swoisty traktat teologiczny SKM musi być koniecznie dopełniony obecnością Maryi, która jest Matką Pięknej Miłości. Prymas Tysiąclecia, wiedząc doskonale, jak powiązać religijność z tożsamością narodową w trudnych czasach, inkarnował teologię miłości w codzienne życie narodu. Występujące w tytule nazwy akcji z zakresu duszpasterstwa zwyczajnego słowo „krucjata”, pochodzące od łacińskiego słowa crux, jest synonimem walki o Boga żywego, który jest Miłością w duszach wszystkich dzieci Bożych.
The Social Crusade of Love is a Polish model for the renewal of Christian life in the spirit of the Second Vatican Council. On the threshold of the second millennium of Christianity in Poland, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński brought it into practice. His Letter for Lent from 1967 is considered to be the program document of the Social Crusade of Love. Numerous further statements, in particular documents of the Polish Episcopate, constitute an important complement. The overriding objective of the “Social Crusade of Love” is the revival of Christian love in the Polish nation. The necessity to reach for sources is best expressed in the first part of the program document, in which they are included in four points: God-Love, Jesus Christ – the Messenger of the Father’s love, the Church – the proclaimer and defender of love, and the penetration of the Spirit of Love into the human family. This specific theological tractate on the “Social Crusade of Love” must necessarily be complemented by the presence of Mary, who is the Mother of Beautiful Love. The Primate of the Millennium, knowing perfectly how to connect religiousness with national identity in difficult times, incarnated the theology of love in the daily life of the Nation. The title of the action in the field of ordinary pastoral work includes the word “crusade”, which comes from the Latin word crux, because this action is synonymous with the fight for the living God who is Love in the souls of all God’s children.
Der "Soziale Kreuzzug der Liebe" ist das polnische Modell für die Erneuerung des christlichen Lebens im Geiste des Zweiten Vatikanischen Konzils. An der Schwelle zum zweiten Jahrtausend des Christentums in Polen wurde es von Kardinal Stefan Wyszyński umgesetzt. Sein Brief zur Fastenzeit von 1967 gilt als Programmdokument der SKM. Zahlreiche weitere Stellungnahmen, insbesondere die Dokumente des polnischen Episkopats, bilden eine wichtige Ergänzung dazu. Das vorrangige Ziel von SKM ist die Wiederbelebung der christlichen Liebe in der polnischen Nation. Die Notwendigkeit, nach den Quellen zu greifen, kommt am besten im ersten Teil des Programmdokuments zum Ausdruck, in dem sie in vier Punkten zusammengefasst sind: Gott – mit Liebe, Jesus Christus – Gesandter der Liebe des Vaters, die Kirche – Verkünder und Verteidiger der Liebe und das Eindringen des Geistes der Liebe in die Menschheitsfamilie. Diese besondere theologische Abhandlung von SKM muss unbedingt durch die Anwesenheit von Maria, der Mutter der Schönen Liebe, vervollständigt werden. Der Primas des Millenniums, der es genau wusste, wie man in schwierigen Zeiten Religiosität mit nationaler Identität verknüpfte, verkörperte die Theologie der Liebe in das tägliche Leben der Nation. Das Wort „Kreuzzug“ im Titel der Aktionen im Bereich der ordentlichen Seelsorge, abgeleitet vom lateinischen Wort „crux“, ist ein Synonym für den Kampf für den lebendigen Gott, der die Liebe in den Seelen aller Gotteskinder ist.

Opis:

The novel depicts the relationship of a young couple living in Montreal. The poetics of the text not only provides the reader with an unusual aesthetic experience but also reveals interesting details about life in Canada in the 1960s. We will introduce the main characters of the novel and focus on some of its aspects, especially those moments where the political situation, whether historically distant or recent, is reflected in the life of modern society. The sixties of the twentieth century were imbued with a desire to resist authority which was lived collectively and also as an individual issue. In the novel, the theme of revolt is portrayed on both these levels, but it shows that it is not always easy to realize one’s ideas in practice.The structure of the novel which refers to the influence of nouveau roman is composed of fragmentary narrative, repetitive allusions and unfinished sentences. Using all these techniques Jacques Godbout has created a captivating text, fascinating especially by its disquieting dynamics.
