    This article attempts to analyze and evaluate the influence of logistics innovations on the results of contemporary service enterprises. The first part of the article characterizes logistics processes and logistics innovations in a service enterprise. The second part presents methodology of the research. The author presented selected aspects of management of logistics processes in the surveyed small, medium and large enterprises providing a variety of services. An attempt to assess the influence of logistics innovations on the results of the surveyed service enterprises has been undertaken. The article is based on the study of scientific literature and own empirical research.

    Nowadays the innovations and inventions allow the development of new technologies that can be implemented in various fields, including logistics. Technologically advanced robots and unmanned vehicles can not only support activities, but also in many cases they replace human being activities, such as controlling, identifying and managing goods, warehouse and critical infrastructure, or transport routes. Smart devices can eliminate human presence in the most advanced activities like firefighting or contamination of storage or transhipment. The aim of the study overview is to diagnose the current state and trends in the development of military technologies of unmanned vehicles. For this purpose some of the solutions in the field of unmanned ground vehicles and possibilities of their use considering military missions requirements were presented. The status of global projects implementation was reviewed. Polish solutions and technologies related to autonomous vehicles were discussed. A comparative analysis related to the global and domestic solutions was used. Recommendations, directions of development and possibilities of advanced technologies in terms of safety logistics, transport or fighting the effects of natural disasters were defined.
    Współczesne innowacje i wynalazki pozwalają na rozwój nowych technologii, które można wdrażać w różnych dziedzinach, w tym w logistyce. Zaawansowane technologicznie roboty i bezzałogowe pojazdy mogą nie tylko wspomagać działania logistyczne człowieka, ale także w wielu przypadkach zastępować go, czego przykładem jest kontrola, identyfikacja i zarządzanie towarami, infrastrukturą magazynową i krytyczną, a także szlakami transportowymi. Inteligentne urządzenia mogą wyeliminować obecność ludzi podczas najbardziej zaawansowanych czynności, takich jak gaszenie pożarów, czy skażenie składowania lub przeładunku. Celem przeglądowego opracowania jest diagnoza obecnego stanu oraz trendów rozwoju wojskowych technologii pojazdów bezzałogowych. W tym celu dokonano przeglądu rozwiązań w zakresie bezzałogowych pojazdów lądowych oraz możliwości ich zastosowania z uwzględnieniem wymagań misji wojskowych. Dokonano przeglądu stanu globalnej realizacji projektów. Omówiono polskie rozwiązania i technologie związane z pojazdami autonomicznymi. Zastosowano analizę porównawczą w odniesieniu do rozwiązań globalnych oraz krajowych. Określono rekomendacje, kierunki rozwoju i możliwości zaawansowanych technologii w zakresie logistyki bezpieczeństwa, transportu, czy walki ze skutkami klęsk żywiołowych.

    The pace of economic growth, despite the crisis bogey still appearing somewhere near, is taking on speed on an unprecedented scale in the history of the mankind. The number of inventions currently being the subject of patent procedures or the quantity and quality of implementations of various types of solutions that improve and facilitate our lives - both professional and private - leads to a situation that we treat these changes more often as a normal thing, which does not arouse our admiration. During the preparation for this publication, the main focus was put on finding the answer to the question whether we are able to observe these changes, define them and assess them. The correct identification and definition of the area of changes is only half of the success. The second important, if not more important, problem is the issue of proper naming and examining the threats that affect these changes.

    The struggle for the customer is symptomatic of the companies operating on contemporary markets. Developing new distribution channels and sales techniques is manifestation of the struggle. Dynamic market changes determine how vendors operate and induce them to implement innovation concepts in distribution, sales and logistics. These original solutions create new shopping modes and possibilities. The purpose of the paper is to present new solutions in this area, which are implemented and used within the alcohol industry in Poland. Scope of the study relates to beverages of low alcohol excluding beer. The authors focus mainly on solutions for distribution and sales, but they won’t pass over complementary solutions for customer communication, including those aimed at education of consumers, which is essential in this industry. The structure of the paper makes it possible to present transformation of alcohol market in Poland, taking into account changes in the processes and the value they create for the consumer.

    Cities are places of countless logistics processes, i.e. the processes of flow of all kinds of resources: human, material, information. The basic problem of contemporary cities are factors limiting their sustainable development. Most of them originate from excessive congestion caused by individual motorization and road freight transport. In recent years, supply chains intensively develop and implement new information technologies. That aims at rationalizing the business logistics processes by improving the information flows which is followed by reducing the demand for physical resources and the reduction of processing time and costs. Because the cities are large areas of logistics processes related to the economic activities of enterprises, the purpose of this article is to answer the following question: how do new information technologies, used in logistics processes, influence the structure of resources mobility in urban areas and how they can help in solving problems of congestion in urban areas. The main assumption of the study is that information flows can partially substitute real flows, which leads to the main thesis of the research that new technologies which streamline the flows of information in B2B and B2C relation can reduce the demand for goods and human flows within the cities. That rationalization translates into changes of resources demand structure and thus a change in demand for their mobility. The study used analysis and deduction method based on the literature and real life examples in the field of information technology which are already in use and those that can be used soon in logistics processes. This field of research is underdeveloped because logisticians focus their research on economization of business logistics processes and do not pay much attention to how they can influence urban areas.

Artykuł ma za zadanie udowodnić, że wyłącznie zastosowanie nowoczesnych systemów IT pozwoli na dynamiczny rozwój i osiągnięcie zrównoważonego rozwoju. Ponadto autorki artykułu mają na celu pokazać trendy występujące w tej branży.
    Nowadays seeking to maximize profits, everybody seeks solutions to reduce as many costs as they can. The market forces to use modern technologies. To achieve competitive advantage it is necessary to implement innovative solutions not only in logistics companies but in all companies in all branches. This is not only a challenge but also an opportunity which cannot be achieved without intelligent systems. IT systems are the foundation of effective managing of the business. The main aim of the article is to present the role of information technology and computerization in every enterprise, irrespective of the level of technological advancement it is currently. The objective of this paper is to prove that only the usage of modern IT systems will enable dynamic and sustainable development. In addition, the authors have a purpose to emphasize trends in the TSL industry related with IT.

    Time is one of the main factors, and it affects the decision of costumers while choosing a particular transportation company. Every stage of logistics processes takes a particular period. That is why almost every firm thinks about the ways of decreasing the time wastes in order to maximize the profit of business. The objective of this research is to explore how different logistics innovations can affect freight transportation processes and save operational time. To achieve this goal and explore the topic more deeply, a list of articles published in worldwide databases related to this domain was analyzed and interpreted. The survey on freight transportation was used to get a better knowledge of today’s situation of freight systems. Based on the result of this article, it is suggested that new ideas for the management of companies in this sphere are suggested. The findings of this research can help Kazakhstan’s logistics companies to develop better strategies and to adopt innovative logistics technologies into freight transportation. They can make them become innovation-based logistics service providers.
    Czas jest jednym z głównych czynników i wpływa na decyzję klientów przy wyborze konkretnej firmy transportowej. Każdy etap procesów logistycznych zajmuje określony okres. Właśnie dlatego prawie każda firma myśli o sposobach zmniejszenia marnotrawstwa czasu w celu maksymalizacji zysku firmy. Celem tych badań jest zbadanie, w jaki sposób różne innowacje logistyczne mogą wpłynąć na procesy transportu towarów i zaoszczędzić czas operacyjny. Aby osiągnąć ten cel i głębiej zgłębić ten temat, przeanalizowano i zinterpretowano listę artykułów opublikowanych w światowych bazach danych związanych z tą domeną. Ankieta dotycząca transportu towarowego została wykorzystana, aby uzyskać lepszą wiedzę na temat dzisiejszej sytuacji systemów towarowych. Na podstawie wyników tego artykułu sugeruje się nowe pomysły dotyczące zarządzania przedsiębiorstwami w tej dziedzinie. Wyniki tych badań mogą pomóc Kazachstanom w logistyce w opracowaniu lepszych strategii i zastosowaniu innowacyjnych technologii logistycznych w transporcie towarów. Mogą sprawić, że staną się dostawcami usług logistycznych opartych na innowacjach.

    The innovativeness of logistics companies depends on the quality of management staff. Logistics is an area where innovation largely determines the competitiveness of the company and its position on the market. Managers can have a strong influence on the level of innovation, but the way they interact can vary. The paper presents the results of the study of 200 managers working in small and medium-sized enterprises from the Podlaskie Voivodeship responsible for logistics activities and their subordinates. The aim of the research was to assess the impact of SME sector managers working in the area of logistics on the innovation of the enterprise in the context of management style and their relations with subordinates. The research shows that managers characterized by a democratic style of management and having better relationships with subordinates have a greater impact on innovation in the area of logistics. Sharing your own knowledge with subordinates is the most frequently indicated method of influencing the company’s innovativeness by managers.
    Innowacyjność przedsiębiorstw logistycznych zależy od jakości kadry kierowniczej. Logistyka jest tym obszarem, w którym innowacyjność decyduje w dużej mierze o konkurencyjności przedsiębiorstwa i jego pozycji na rynku. Kierownicy mogą mieć silny wpływ na poziom innowacyjności, jednak sposób oddziaływania może być różny. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań 200 kierowników pracujących w małych i średnich przedsiębiorstwach z województwa podlaskiego odpowiadających za działania logistyczne oraz ich podwładnych. Celem badań była ocena wpływu kierowników sektora MSP pracujących w obszarze logistyki na innowacyjność przedsiębiorstwa w kontekście stylu kierowania i ich relacji z podwładnymi. Badania wskazują, że kierownicy charakteryzujący się demokratycznym stylem kierowania oraz mający lepsze relacje z podwładnymi mają większy wpływ na innowacyjność w obszarze logistyki. Dzielenie się własną wiedzą z podwładnymi jest najczęściej wskazywanym sposobem wpływania przez kierowników na innowacyjność przedsiębiorstwa.

    Dynamiczny rozwój handlu elektronicznego jest motorem zmian w branży logistycznej zachodzących w ostatnich latach zarówno na świecie, jak i w Polsce. Wiele firm z rynku TSL i KEP oraz spoza branży logistycznej dostrzegło szansę na rozwój działalności poprzez rozszerzanie oferty o usługi logistyczne dedykowane dla e-commerce, w tym zwłaszcza dla segmentu B2C. Prowadzi to z jednej strony do zaostrzenia konkurencji, z drugiej zaś stymuluje wprowadzanie nowych innowacyjnych usług budujących doświadczenia klientów. W opracowaniu przeprowadzono analizę zmian na rynku logistycznym oraz przedstawiono cztery główne etapy rozwoju usług logistycznych dla e-handlu pod wpływem dwóch kluczowych czynników: ewoluujących potrzeb e-klientów oraz nastawienia przedsiębiorstw na innowacje.
    The dynamic growth of electronic commerce stimulates changes in the logistics market, both in the world and in Poland. Many logistics and CEP operators, as well as other companies, recognized the opportunity for expanding their businesses and offering logistics services dedicated for B2C e-commerce. These activities on one hand lead to stronger competition, but on the other hand stimulate the development of innovative, customer centric services. The study analyzes changes of the logistics market in Poland and presents four main stages of logistics services development. Two main criteria were used to distinguish these phases: evolving customers’ needs and pro-innovative attitude of logistics services providers.
