    Goal – the purpose of this article is to generalize theoretical approaches to determining the specifics of women’s entrepreneurship, to form a portrait of a modern woman in business, to identify barriers to the development of women’s entrepreneurship and ways of its development. Research methodology – in the main part, the analysis of economic sectors, which modern women prefer when choosing a field of activity, is carried out. A comparative analysis was carried out and the distinctive features of enterprises run by men and women were identified. Score/results – the positive experience of conducting women’s business in Poland, which can be successfully used to improve and develop women’s entrepreneurship in Belarus, is revealed. Options for improving the current situation, aimed at the development of women’s entrepreneurship, are proposed. Originality/value – the article deals with the formation and development of women’s business as a basis for the activation of small and medium‑sized businesses in the Republic of Belarus. The features of the activities of enterprises run by women are revealed, and the strengths and weaknesses in their work are highlighted.

    The aim of the study is to analyze trends in the development of investment banking after the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers. The changes that have taken place in the environment and operating conditions have forced investment bankers to search for a new, optimal business model, which is adequate to the changes that have taken place in technology, management structure and the conditions of competition in this banking sector. A detailed analysis of this issue has been focused on investment banking in Deutsche Bank Group.

    Opis:
    The purpose of the paper is to present the evolution of transnational corporations and their influence on the process of globalisation. The primary thesis of the paper is that the corporations are prime movers and main recipients of the process of globalisation. The paper is divided into three parts. In the first part various definitions of transnational corporations are included, as well as the genesis and the evolution of the transnational corporations. In the second part contemporary development trends, the world’s biggest public companies with their industry and the state of origin are discussed. Based on the subject literature and the source data, it is concluded that the new development phase of the transnational corporations began - the domination of enterprises from China and United States. In the final part positive and negative aspects of the referred process are elaborated. On one hand companies invest in research, development and create modern technology. On the other hand, they interfere in social and political life. Also, issues such as polarisation of profitable, exploitation of minors, neo-colonialism, abuse of a dominant position, locating production in developing countries and exploitation of employees were discussed by the author. The article ends with a projection – an apocalyptic vision of the world dominated by the negative aspects of activities of the transnational corporations.
    Artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie procesu ewolucji korporacji transnarodowych, ich szerokiego wpływu na proces globalizacji oraz związanych z tym następstw. Tezą opracowania jest stwierdzenie, że korporacje stanowią zarówno siły sprawcze, jak i głównego beneficjenta procesu globalizacji. Artykuł podzielono na trzy części. W pierwszej przedstawiono różne ujęcia definicyjne korporacji transnarodowych, genezę i proces ewolucji tych podmiotów. W części drugiej scharakteryzowano współczesne tendencje rozwojowe oraz przedstawiono największe firmy na świecie wraz z ich kategorią działania oraz państwem pochodzenia. W oparciu o literaturę przedmiotu i dane źródłowe stwierdzono, iż obecnie nastała nowa faza rozwoju – okres dominacji chińsko-amerykańskiej. W ostatniej części przedstawiono zarówno pozytywne, jak i negatywne aspekty opisywanych procesów. Tutaj wskazano na wkład przedsiębiorstw w rozwój badań i nowoczesnych technologii, ale również na ingerencję w życie społeczno-polityczne. Poruszono takie kwestie jak: polaryzacja dochodowa, nadużywanie pozycji dominującej, wyzysk siły roboczej czy celowe lokalizowanie produkcji w państwach ubogich. Artykuł zakończono prognozą – apokaliptyczną wizją świata związaną z utrzymaniem przedstawionych trendów.

    The impact on the development of the economy and enterprises themselves is made possible by investments as they are one of the main components of GDP. An increase in enterprise investments demonstrates the good financial condition of economic entities, is a positive signal about the state of the economy and gives information about its development. The subject of this article is the impact of enterprises on the economy and its importance in Poland by analysing both investment itself and the investment rate. The analysis was carried out at a regional level as well as in relation to other EU member states. The aim is to analyse the investment activities of Polish enterprises, with particular emphasis on the change as well as their size and type. The research is based on a critical analysis of the literature and an analysis of secondary statistical data, covering the period from the first full EU program from 2007, and extended in accordance with the n+2 funding rule until 2015. The analyses show that despite growing investment among Polish enterprises, compared to the rest of the EU, the value of expenditure on fixed assets is still low as the average value made in the private sector among EU countries is 70% higher. At the same time, the growing level of investment value among private businesses over the nine years should be emphasized. There is also a very large regional variation in the level of investment growth per working-age capita over the period considered.

    Praktyka wynikająca z realizacji budowlanego procesu inwestycyjnego wykazuje, że potrzebną staje się koordynacja działań procesowych. Inwestorzy coraz częściej korzystają z tak zwanej instytucji inwestora zastępczego powierzając jej część lub całość obowiązków związanych z przygotowaniem, prowadzeniem i koordynacją działań uczestników procesu inwestycyjnego. Szczegółowe określenie zakresu powierzonych inspektorowi zastępczemu czynności wymaga identyfikacji wszystkich działań niezbędnych do zrealizowania zaplanowanej inwestycji. W artykule dokonano przeglądu literatury dotyczącej elementów struktury procesu i zaproponowano model organizacyjny budowlanego procesu inwestycyjnego jako narzędzie do koordynowania działań z poziomu inwestora.
    Practice resulting from the implementation of the construction investment process shows that coordination process becomes necessary. Investors more and more often use the so-called institutions of substitute investor, entrusting a portion or all of the duties related to the preparation, conducting and coordination of actions of participants of the investment process. The detailed definition of the scope entrusted to the inspector substitution activities requires identification of all activities needed to carry out the planned investment. This article reviews the literature on structural elements of the process and the organizational model of the construction investment process, as a tool for coordination with the level of the investor, was proposed.

    The construction of building projects will always result in a degree of interference in the local environment. Legal regulations intended for the most effective protection of natural resources involve a range of procedures, without which the imitation of building projects is not possible. It concerns all investments, but the regulations especially emphasize the ones, which may negatively affect the environment. A decision on environment-related conditions, which is foreseen in the process, requires the preparation of many specialist documents which constitute attachments to the application of its issuance. One of the problems related to this procedure is the time lag associated with an environmental decision, which is difficult to determine or predict. The periods of waiting for issuing a decision for building investments of a different character were analysed in the article. The reason for this situation was also analyzed.

    The article deals with the formation of programs for cultural development, as well as the ways to attract investment in the implementation of these programs, depending on the characteristics of the historical and cultural development of the territory. It is proved that along with economic and political concepts the idea of development and preservation of culture should be appear. Using the example of Odessa and the Odessa region, the extent to which historical and cultural characteristics can become an element of attracting investment through the development of tourism business is explored, and the presence of an independent program could become a means for determining priorities, coordinating and prioritizing the necessary changes in the cultural sphere regional levels. The article also analyzes the world experience in financing, supporting and developing the cultural sphere, and identifies three main types of cultural economics, depending on the mechanism of its investment, namely: “Romance” type, “German” type and “Anglo-American” type, is carried out. Тhe possibility of transforming foreign experience in financing cultural programs in terms of the ratio of budgetary and non-budgetary funds is being considered. Based on the results of this study, conclusions were drawn on the need to identify real sources of funding for cultural programs at the regional and municipal levels, calculate the necessary balance between budget and non-budgetary funding for cultural activities, prioritize budget funding and accumulate funds for these purposes from possible sources, which is especially important for regions that have a tourist specialization.

    Od momentu wprowadzenia regulacji w obszarze rolnym w Europie Wspólna Polityka Rolna Unii Europejskiej była wielokrotnie modyfikowana. Obecnie trwa dyskusja w sprawie przyszłości WPR UE po 2013 roku. W odniesieniu do działań inwestycyjnych celem analizy było określenie progu wielkości gospodarstw rolnych uprawnionych do ubiegania się o środki i liczby potencjalnych beneficjentów. Przy uwzględnieniu kryteriów minimalnego areału użytków rolnych oraz wielkości ekonomicznej okazuje się, że ze wsparcia działań inwestycyjnych mogłoby skorzystać około 127 tys. gospodarstw rolnych. W ujęciu regionalnym można się spodziewać, że nadal najwięcej środków trafi do tych regionów, w których dominują podmioty duże, silne ekonomiczne i wspierane przepływem wiedzy oraz korzystające ze wsparcia doradczego. Przy określeniu górnych i dolnych progów dostępu do pomocy w ramach małych gospodarstw oraz młodych rolników w obu przypadkach kryterium dostępu do wsparcia powinno bazować na powierzchni użytków rolnych gospodarstw. Liczba potencjalnie uprawnionych podmiotów do skorzystania ze wsparcia dla małych gospodarstw wynosi około 583,8 tys. Dla wsparcia młodych rolników oszacowano około 46 tys. potencjalnych beneficjentów działania.
    Since the introduction of the European Union Common Agricultural Policy, this policy has been frequently modified. Currently there is a discussion on the future of the EU CAP after 2013. With regard to the investment activities the main goal of the analysis was to determine a threshold for allowing agricultural holdings to access the support and to estimate the number of potential beneficiaries. Taking into account the criteria of utilized agricultural area and economic size, about 127 thousand farms can benefit from the support for Investments in physical assets. In regional aspect, it is expected that the majority of funds still will go to the regions dominated by large entities, economic strong and using advisory support. In defining upper and lower thresholds for allowing agricultural holdings access to support to the development of small farms and young farmers, in both case, the criteria of access to support should based on the utilized agricultural area. Number of potentially eligible entities of the development of small farms is about 583.8 thousand. For young farmers it is estimated to about 46 thousand potential beneficiaries.
