The objective of this work is to set up a methodology that considers missing data from a connected heartbeat sensor in order to propose a good replacement methodology in the context of heart rate variability (HRV) computation. The framework is a research project, which aims to build a system that can measure stress and other factors influencing the onset and development of heart disease. The research encompasses studying existing methods, and improving them by use of experimental data from case study that describe the participant’s everyday life. We conduct a study to modelize stress from the HRV signal, which is extracted from a heart rate monitor belt connected to a smart watch. This paper describes data recording procedure and data imputation methodology. Missing data is a topic that has been discussed by several authors. The manuscript explains why we choose spline interpolation for data values imputation. We implement a random suppression data procedure and simulate removed data. After that, we implement several algorithms and choose the best one for our case study based on the mean square error.

Opis:
The discrete Fourier transform (DFT) is a principal method for power system harmonic analysis. The fundamental frequency of the power system increases or decreases following load changes during normal operation. It is difficult to achieve synchronous sampling and integer period truncation in power harmonic analysis. The resulting spectrum leakage affects the accuracy of the measurement results. For this reason, a windowed interpolation DFT method for power system harmonic analysis to reduce errors was presented in this paper. First, the frequency domain expression of the windowed signal Fourier transform is analyzed. Then, the magnitude of the three discrete spectrum lines near the harmonic frequency point is used to determine the accurate position of the harmonic spectrum. Then, the calculation of the amplitude, frequency, and phase of harmonics is presented. The tripleline interpolation DFT can improve the accuracy of electrical harmonic analysis. Based on the algorithm, the practical rectification formulas were obtained by using the polynomial approximation method. The simulation results show that the fast attenuation of window function sidelobe is the key to reduce the error. The triple-line interpolation DFT based on Hanning, Blackman, Nuttall 3-Term windows has higher calculation accuracy, which can meet the requirements of electrical harmonic analysis.

The problem that is mostly related to the pattern of experimental time series data is the function that involves the data. Experimental data in the field of exact sciences is very important to conclude a problem. Existing data can form certain functions. In this research, we are looking for a function that represents the gas content of hydrogen and iodine in the reaction of acid iodide formation. This is achieved by using interpolation in which the function interpolates a given group of data points. Interpolation can also be used to evaluate the function at points different from the group. In addition to constructing and evaluating a functions by interpolation, we can also predict experimental data outside the given group of data points by using extrapolation. The results of data extrapolation can be used as an alternative to experimental data, thereby saving time and cost. This research will also compare interpolation and extrapolation of both Newton method and cubic splines, which one better interpolates and extrapolates data on hydrogen and iodine gas content in the reaction of acid iodide formation. The research results show that the cubic spline method is better than Newton method at approaching data, in terms of interpolation, as well as extrapolation.

An inequality, which generalizes and unifies some recently proved Carlson type inequalities, is proved. The inequality contains a certain number of "blocks" and it is shown that these blocks are, in a sense, optimal and cannot be removed or essentially changed. The proof is based on a special equivalent representation of a concave function (see [6, pp. 320-325]). Our Carlson type inequality is used to characterize Peetre's interpolation functor $⟨⟩_{φ}$ (see [26]) and its Gagliardo closure on couples of functional Banach lattices in terms of the Calderón-Lozanovskiǐ construction. Our interest in this functor is inspired by the fact that if $φ = t^{θ}(0 < θ < 1)$, then, on couples of Banach lattices and their retracts, it coincides with the complex method (see [20], [27]) and, thus, it may be regarded as a "real version" of the complex method.

The paper describes the design and test results of a programmable digital delay line implemented in an FPGA device (Kintex-7, Xilinx). The operation of the delay line is based on the modified dual interpolation Nutt method that combines two actions, i.e.: (1) counting the periods of a reference clock and (2) time interpolating within a single clock period. The first action provides an extremely wide range of the introduced delays (> 9 minutes), while the second one allows reaching relatively high delay resolution (2 ns) with a timing jitter as low as 35 ps (until delay of 1 μs). The high metrological parameters of the designed delay line are achieved at the expense of increased difficulty in implementation of the method in an integrated circuit. The major problems to be solved were the synchronizations of input signals as well as synchronous and asynchronous parts of the system, which were effectively provided with the use of two dual-edge synchronizers, a clock signal logic level detection system and associated synchronizers.

We show how one can, in a unified way, calculate the Kottman and the packing constants of the Orlicz sequence space defined by an N-function, equipped with either the gauge or Orlicz norms. The values of these constants for a class of reflexive Orlicz sequence spaces are found, using a quantitative index of N-functions and some interpolation theorems. The exposition is essentially selfcontained.

The work presents three methods of modeling the power characteristics of a wind turbine in the MATLAB & SIMULINK environment, that is – linear interpolation, nonlinear approximation, and linear approximation. Simulation tests were performed for two wind turbines: AH and AIRCON, with the nominal power of 10 kW. Calculations of the amount of electric energy generated by the above–mentioned types of wind turbines were performed for the constraint assumed (wind speed measurements in the south–eastern Poland for January and June 2014). The differences between the energy amounts calculated with the use of the three power characteristic modeling methods were determined. The results were summarized and final conclusions were formulated.

The discrete Fourier transform (DFT) is the main method of electrical harmonic analysis since it’s easily realized in an embedded system. But there were some difficulties in performing synchronized sampling. The spectral leakage caused by asynchronous sampling affects the accuracy of harmonics analysis. Using window functions and interpolation algorithms can improve the accuracy of harmonics analysis. An approach for electrical harmonic analysis based on the interpolation DFT was proposed. A window function reduces DFT leakage and the interpolation algorithm modifies the calculation results of frequency, amplitude and the initial phase angle. The simulation results indicate that, by using the interpolation DFT electrical harmonic analysis method based on the Hanning window or the Blackman window, the error of calculating amplitudes and frequencies is not greater than 0.5%.

In this paper we introduce the modelwise interpolation property of a logic that states that whenever \(\models\phi\to\psi\) holds for two formulas \(\phi\) and \(\psi\), then for every model \(\mathfrak{M}\) there is an interpolant formula \(\chi\) formulated in the intersection of the vocabularies of \(\phi\) and \(\psi\), such that \(\mathfrak{M}\models\phi\to\chi\) and \(\mathfrak{M}\models\chi\to\psi\), that is, the interpolant formula in Craig interpolation may vary from model to model. We compare the modelwise interpolation property with the standard Craig interpolation and with the local interpolation property by discussing examples, most notably the finite variable fragments of first order logic, and difference logic. As an application we connect the modelwise interpolation property with the local Beth definability, and we prove that the modelwise interpolation property of an algebraizable logic can be characterized by a weak form of the superamalgamation property of the class of algebras corresponding to the models of the logic.

Let D be a bounded strictly pseudoconvex domain of $ℂ^n$ with smooth boundary. We consider the weighted mixed-norm spaces $A_{δ,k}^{p,q}(D)$ of holomorphic functions with norm $∥f∥_{p,q,δ,k} = (sum_{|α|≤k} \int_{0}^{r_0} (\int_{∂D_{r}} |D^{α} f|^p dσ_{r})^{q//p} r^{δq//p-1} dr)^{1//q}$. We prove that these spaces can be obtained by real interpolation between Bergman-Sobolev spaces $A_{δ,k}^{p}(D)$ and we give results about real and complex interpolation between them. We apply these results to prove that $A_{δ,k}^{p,q}(D)$ is the intersection of a Besov space $B_{s}^{p,q}(D)$ with the space of holomorphic functions on D. Further, we obtain several properties of the mixed-norm spaces.

In this paper we consider the problem of modeling curves in R n via interpolation with out apriori specified interpolation knots. We discuss two approaches to estimate missing knots{ti}mi=0 for non-parametric data(i.e.collection of points {qi}mi=0, where qiRn). The first approach (uniforme valuation) is based on blind guess in which knots {ˆti}mi=0 are chosen uniformly. The second approach (cumulative chord parameterization), incorporates the geometry of the distribution of data points.More precisely the difference ˆti+1−ˆti is equal to the Euclidean distance between data points qi+1 and qi. The second method partially compensates for the loss of the information carried by the reduced data. We also present the application of the above schemes for fitting non-parametric data in computer graphics (light-source motion rendering),in computer vision (image segmentation)and in physics (high velocity particles trajectory modeling).Though experiments are conducted for points in R2 and R3 the entire method is equally applicable in Rn.

Inversion of band matrices is the simplest, direct way of computing interpolating splines. On the other hand, when studying the convergence problems, the bounds of related inverse matrices are useful. This paper contains algorithms of inversion, based on LR decomposition, of tri- and five-diagonal matrices appearing in spline fitting problems. (In this case LR decomposition is possible and unique if one of the diagonals is fixed.) For example, inversion of a tri-diagonal matrix of dimension n requires 12n(3n+5) multiplications when the proposed algorithm is used. In order to simplify the optical setup and the encryption process, a diffractive-imaging-based optical encryption system using a single diffraction pattern is proposed. A predesigned binary mask is placed before the plaintext in the encryption process, and three randomly distributed phase only masks are placed in the optical path. Only one diffraction pattern needs to be recorded as ciphertext by CCD. In the decryption process, an iterative phase retrieval algorithm is applied, in which the predesigned binary mask acts as a support constraint in the input plane. After the iterative process, an interpolation operation for the zero-valued pixels is also implemented. The effectiveness and robustness of the proposal are demonstrated by numerical simulation results.

. In this paper a Kriging method is reviewed and a way of its application in numerical weather prediction is proposed. The basic principles of the Kriging are shown; the main advantage is its accuracy, but at the same time a disadvantage is its large computational complexity. The construction stage of the variographical model is highlighted, as it is the most important stage and has a significant impact on the accuracy of interpolation. The algorithm for the construction of the variographical model is described. Special attention is paid to averaging an experimental variogram by introducing a special interval, called “lag”. Precisely this issue, according to the authors has a significant impact on the effectiveness of the practical application of Kriging for the interpolation of meteorological parameters. The advantages of averaging an experimental variogram by the administration of lag are presented, and the error that arises in this case is estimated. A theoretical study for the determination of the optimal lag was conducted. The lag proposed for the determination is guided by the criteria of accuracy and the economy of computer time. The twocriteria problem is solved, and the formula, which makes it possible to determine the optimal lag on these criteria, is received. An example shown here is the application of the obtained results for solving the applied task associated with meteorological parameters forecast by the COS MO model.

Program i graficzny interfejs użytkownika mogą mieć zastosowanie w wirtualnym analizatorze widma o podwyższonej dokładności. W artykule tym przedstawiono dwie metody estymacji częstotliwości i amplitudy. Obie metody używały okien Hanninga i prostokątnego. Okazało się metoda trzy punkowej estymacji WMIpDFt osiąga lepsze rezultaty, posługując się kryterium wartości błędu bezwzględnego. Wartości te są mniejsze niż w przypadku stosowania metody estymacji dwu punktowej IpDFT. Jednak użycie prostokątnego okna w trzy punktowej estymacji generuje mniejszy błąd. Dla efektywnej estymacji amplitudy lepszym okazuje się zastosowanie okna Hanninga dla obu metod estymacji. Najmniejszy bezwzględny błąd jest otrzymywany dla estymacji amplitudy z wykorzystaniem dwupunktowej estymacji IpDFT oraz okna Hanninga.
The paper deals with estimation of periodic signal spectra using the DFT method with additional processing (application of time window and two-point and three-point interpolation). The efficiency of esti-mation with the rectangular and Hanning window is analyzed. There is presented a program interface created for tracking graphical and numerical results of estimation. The graphical interface and the simulation program can be used in a high precision spectrum analyzer. In this paper two methods of frequency and amplitude estimation are discussed. Both methods use the Hanning and rectangular window. It turns out that the three-point WMIpDFT method gives better results, using the absolute error value criterion. The values of the absolute error are smaller than those in case of using the two-point IpDFT. However, use of rectangular window in the three-point estimation creates a lower error value. For the effective amplitude estimation it is better to use the Hanning window for both methods. The lowest absolute error value is obtained for the amplitude estimation with use of the two-point IpDFT method with the Hanning window.

In the article, I have decided to sketch a brief portrait of the most significant Russian formalist Viktor Shklovsky. In order to comment upon his contribution to the development of literary theory, I cast some light on his original term ostranenie (estrangement, defamiliarization), which allows the formalist to expose the essential features of writing based on unlimited changes of the plot: they always assume a participation of irony, parody, and reinvention in art. The listed devices determine the progress in literature, which makes use of the old conventions to create new ones what occurs in the course of transgressing consolidated forms and functions. What is more, the process of transgression (or – to be more precise – self-transgression) is manifested by a disruptive activity of irony at the same time collaborating with literary traditions and thwarting them with the force of the eternal, perpetual reinvention.

Let 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞ and let $w_0, w_1$ be two weights on the unit circle such that $log(w_0w_1^{-1})∈ BMO$. We prove that the couple $(H_p(w_0), H_p(w_1))$ of weighted Hardy spaces is a partial retract of $(L_p(w_0), L_p(w_1))$. This completes previous work of the authors. More generally, we have a similar result for finite families of weighted Hardy spaces. We include some applications to interpolation.

Air pollution regards all chains of environmental prospective. As an actualized and future issue we concentrate our efforts to set a frame on major air pollutants and their relation. The period of study rely on 15 year time interval (2012-2016) and the geographical area is focused on data retrieved from the capital, Tirana. We canalize our investigation mainly on inhalable particle and their behavior toward other particles. The goal is to establish $PM_{10}$ (Particulate Matter with a diameter < 10 μm) trend based on significant associations. We develop the analytical process due to air pollution numbers which turn to be of considerable concern in the country. $PM_{10}$ and Total Suspended Particulate Matter (TSPM) have different diameter but reflect the same trend line. They show strong positive correlation value with $O_3$ and $SO_2$ (r > 0.75). $NO_2$ particles seem to be less (r < 0.25) involved in this interaction. AQI (Air Quality Index) is fully depended (r > 0.92) on $PM_{10}$ behavior. We test also socioeconomic and meteorological parameters that produce interesting results. IDW (Inverse Distance Weight) interpolation maps resume the geographical dispersion of $PM_{10}$ values. The reductive emission index retrieved from Euro standard transition for vehicle fleet develops a new situation. We generate potentially future values of $PM_{10}$ emission. Predictive scenario is created, interpolation maps are the backbone of this methodology.

In this paper we present a numerical scheme to calculations of the left fractional integral. To calculate it we use the fractional Simpson’s rule (FSR). The FSR is derived by applying quadratic interpolation. We calculate errors generated by the method for particular functions and compare the obtained results with the fractional trapezoidal rule (FTR).
